Yep, yep, yep. Thank yo-o-ou once again, Rainbow! :littlefoot:)
Let this be a future lesson for Mo-o-o and perhaps some others for this: Checking out the store of the seller to see if they may be selling other LBT scripts. Mo-o-o wouldn't be sure how long it would've taken before I would've noticed. :o

Anyway, I have already agreed with Stardust to help him cover the costs of the LBT 1 script. After all, the auction already starts off the pricing at a whopping $549.00! So if anyone else is interested in helping us cover some of the costs of the script, let us know! Any contribution is appreciated, no matter how small!

Thank yo-o-ou Mu-u-ud Brothers! :Mo :wub

Yeah, this type of deep diving/discovery work really fascinates me. It really falls under the category of OSINT, or Open Source Intelligence. It's basically the art of researching and collecting vital data/information from publicly available outreaches. Web Archive is one of the huge facets of OSINT research, since quite a lot of history, ranging from books, media, but importantly in Cybersecurity, lots of websites that may have juicy information that used to be on the actual website in the past, but may no longer be hosted.

And yeah, finding out stuff like this really gives me a lot of hope in terms of being able to find and unravel other undiscovered original drafts for the LBT movies. If the LBT 1 script on Scriptfly was actually hosted for over two decades, and yet only discovered in 2018, something tells Mo-o-o-o that there is still much more out there than meets the eye...
Whether we find another by an obscure website, or by another antique Ebay seller randomly listing another LBT script, Mo-o-o-o is confident we'll be able to get most of the other scripts eventually. :smile

Yeah this happens sometimes in lost media like the Barnyard test pilot which was found on a VHS someone brought off of ebay this year. :Mo

VHS is a real treasure trove, alright... :petrieooohh
Love seeing the obscure/unique/lost footage that some person may have on a random VHS that they used to record some segment of a TV show or commercial break back in the day. It really gives you a glimpse of the past, which I usually find pretty interesting. :)

Some of my favorites can be old Christmas TV commericals, or for more specific examples, something like Nick Jr./Nick bumpers, or Nick Jr. face bumper segments.

Preservation is vital, and luckily the footage can easily be transferred to a digital medium, ensuring that it doesn't eventually degrade to complete static overtime. :DD :yes

1988 Theatrical Release / Re: SCRIPT for Original Uncut LBT FOUND!
« on: May 13, 2024, 12:14:49 AM »
@Sneak: By the way, I'm curious about your purchase of this LBT 1 uncut script that you bought on Scriptfly for $14.95.

Congrats on finding a script that turned out to be real, despite how cheap the price was. But anyway, I'm pretty surprised that, even up to this day, they are still selling that same script that you bought all the way back 2018, literally still for the same price of $14.95.

So-o-o that begs the question for Mo-o-o. Was this uncut script never really "rare" or "exclusive" to begin with if it were selling for that cheap in the first place?

After a bit of research and digging around, I found out that this uncut LBT 1 script from May 1987 may have been available online much earlier than y-o-ou think. Well actually, this was certainly available earlier than the actual existence of the Gang of Five forum, as matter of fact! For example, as shown in this archived webpage from Nov 20, 2001. This was the earliest archived iteration of the Scriptfly Screenplays index page. Notice the "New Arrival" section on that webpage, listing the most recent scripts that they have received for whatever movie listed. The only way to know for sure when this uncut LBT 1 script was available for purchase on Scriptfly was to find an archived date of the site with "Land Before Time" listed in the new arrival section.

I could not find such page. However, this next link is from April 9th, 2002 and it shows a list of screenplays in alphabetical order from A-M only. If you scroll down to the "L" letter section, it clearly lists LAND BEFORE TIME, THE $15 on one of the lines. It doesn't indicate that it is the uncut LBT 1 script, but Mo-o-o have a go-o-od feeling that was what Scriptfly was selling at that time.

It kind of makes me imagine and speculate if this script could've been found online somewhere even earlier than Scriptfly but was just never archived/found. But yeah, Mo-o-o is quite glad that Scriptfly had been hosting the sale of this script for literally over two decades now. It would be a real shame if we hadn't found it before the site stopped selling it, or even worse, if it shut down.
