Thinking to self: "Ok I can do this. I've been studying walking on water in college and this is the final exam. Just take a step and keep on walking as if it were the planks I'm walking on now."

Looking at the degree of quality and completion of their work I really think that bridge building engineers are overpaid these days.

This is based on a spiritual metaphor:
Guy: I hate my life. I hate everything and everyone. Why can't I find the light? I seem to be the only one that's always sad. I hate being single, no one loves me, no one understands me, blah, blah, blah, blah, etc
On and on he went in complete despair. He kept going and going farther and farther away from the light until he finally came to his destination, the deep, black, bottom of the pit. Now...he will be lost forever more.
