Hi!
At the moment I got my computer back from "repairs" after I have had no access to it for several weeks. However, the laptop was not actually repaired an I will have to hand it in again (and I'm afraid it will again be out of reach for some time). During this time I had to put some of you off until later (that is now) about different LBT files you asked me for. I'm afraid I might mix up what is to be send to whom as I think that there are meanwhile quite a few files to be send to quite a few people from different forums. So can you please just tell me what I meant to send you, so I can do this before I hand back the laptop?

Petrie.

Me and action have worked out song files, so that's one less thing you have to worry about.  ;)

Ah, well, just to make sure, the ONLY thing I have requested from you is your fic, "The Big Quarrel."

Hopefully this will stay around long enough for ya, huh?

Remember, it's because of fanfics that I've become patient with such great stories. :)

Oh, and knowing deals with computers and all, I'd say you fell into a scam of some kind that is too legal to go against.

Not quite. I asked an uncle of mine who is a lawyer and he assured me that in fact even for mechanical defects (defects caused by regular use of the device) the producer is obliged to repair them if they appear within a certain time after the buying of the product (two years to be precise). Maybe this is just German law. Anyway, I found that a tiny bit of tape and handkerchief made for quite a good makeshift repair, so I'm not going to hand the laptop in again.
I sent you the land before time stories I promised you :)
Of course I would be happy to know what you think of it, both positive and negative feelings. I can stand some criticism, especially if it contributes to improve further stories.

Actually, something similar to that is provided in plenty of countries. It's a warranty; most products come with one that guarantees free repair or replacement within a certain time frame.

Have you done any more LBT fanfics, Malte? I'm in a reading mood!

Speaking of that, my LBT fanfic that I had written has been lost! You have no idea how upset I am about that!

I still haven't finished the story "Old Threehorns" on which I have been writing for ages. It has 215 pages so far and I have reached the night from the fifth to the sixth of seven days over which the story streches.
I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your story. In order to prevent something like this to happen I regularly save my story on different computers, CDs, and elsewhere.

Geez, you've been working on that story since I was frequenting the N54 forum!

Don't forget to send it to me when it's done!

^ The story is taking too long. It is still not done and will take more time. I reckon this is for several reasons. Firstly I admit that some of my enthusiasm for the story has waned away due to the fact that it is in conflict with two land before time movies that have been released since I began to write it. You all know how keen I am not to contradict the movies or include anything that doesn't fit into LBT.
I have been true to that second point, but still the story is in parts somewhat gloomy. I chose a very difficult matter to deal with and there are quite a few characters in a deep-grey zone so it is hard to determine if they are good or bad. This makes it difficult to write even though the basic plot is clearly in my mind. Sometimes it seems a bit senseless as just a handful of people is going to read it anyway, but then again I have put too much of an effort into it to give up on that story. But looking all to much forward to finishing it after all is not a good state in which to continue the story. I don't work on it if I don't feel like it; not to mess up for lack of spirit.

That's happened to me now and then...

Malte, you probably remember me sending you part of my first novel length story to read? That was ages ago...

I was writing a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic at one point. Got bored of it, and it sucked anyway. If you're only writing it for yourself and a few friends, no one can judge you too harshly if you stop writing.

If J.K. Rowling did it however...

I could.
