Role Play Discussion / A New world...Same old faces

It certainly has been a long time since we last posted in this, but I think maybe a hiatus probably will do wonders. I'm certainly still interested  ;)

"Hi Grandma!" Littlefoot warmly nuzzled his grandmother as she greeted them. "Yeah, we got them there with no problems. They're on their way to the Big Water now."

"I hope that friend of yours knows what he's doing," Threehorn turned to Rob. "Trusting him to look after another group of dinosaurs. That seems like a lot to ask for those that have never seen your kind before."

"I trust Pangaea," Rob responded. "They'll get there okay."

"If you're sure," Threehorn answered back, not entirely convinced.

"So has anything happened while we were gone?" Littlefoot asked his grandmother.

Zaine nodded. "Yeah, you're right. He's probably back by now. I just can't imagine what it's like. I mean, to be trapped in the body of a fast biter. That seems terrible."

I honestly won't get a WiiU until Smash Bros comes out. Right now, there's nothing that really grabs me. ZombieU does look cool, and the fact that Ninja Gaiden 3 is being reformatted to what it is supposed to be like is very nice, but neither of those really grab me enough to get the WiiU. Besides, I just got a PS3 for Christmas, so I'm trying to get more into the exclusives on that system.

The Wii will always be the Father of motion control gaming in my eyes. Having said that, their was so much wasted potential in terms of the hardcore gaming with the system. The motion controls worked great with many games. The only problem was a lot of them were more family oriented. There just wasn't enough for the hardcore gamer to get invested, even though there are a bunch of great games out there. I feel the Wii reached it's peak way too late with Skyward Sword, and I feel that if Nintendo had continued working on developing more titles other than putting out the 3DS, then maybe it could have survived a little longer.

"How much farther do we have?" Rob asked curiously. "The sooner we reach the edge of the valley, the better."

"Not much farther," Littlefoot replied. "In fact, we're coming to the edge right now." He was right. After some traveling, they had finally reached the edge of the valley. Littlefoot was surprised to feel some sort of relief, probably that he wasn't going to have to see the egg stealers anymore. "Just keep following down this path and eventually you will find the Big Water."

"I guess you won't be needing us anymore then," Rob concluded. He looked over at Threehorn. "Is this acceptable for you? May we leave them and head back?"

"I still don't like this," Threehorn responded. Nothing about this appealed to him at all, but he did give his word that he wouldn't stay with the group. "I guess there's nothing else we need to do here. I will take you two back home."

"Thank you," Rob answered. He then looked over at Pangaea. "Please be careful. I don't trust those two one bit, so keep an eye on them."

"Get them out safely," Littlefoot added. "Good luck!" With that, he, Rob and Threehorn turned in the opposite direction and started heading back.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zaine had remained deep in thought for quite some time now. It wasn't even on one particular thing anymore. Everything seemed to be spiraling through his mind at rapid speed. He hadn't realized that it was causing him to act so distant from the group until Cyrix mentioned his name. "Oh, uh, sorry. I guess I'm just thinking about a lot of things right now. I mean, so much has happened already, and I feel like even more is going to happen soon. I don't know what to think of it all. I'm mostly worried about Rob. I know things got kind of hectic and I just hope he's okay."

"Keep quiet you two!" Threehorn barked at the egg eaters. "We don't want to draw any unnecessary attention, but if you continue to outburst like that we'll forget about this whole trip and just deal with you now."

"While I agree that we don't want to attract anything," Rob commented, "threatening them like that isn't going to make this trip any better."

"Don't think you can start giving me orders just because of your new body, boy," Threehorn argued.

"I'm not," Rob replied. "I'm only suggesting that we be as civil as possible until we get them to the halfway point. Then we can just leave them and not worry about them ever again."

Threehorn grumbled a little, knowing that Rob was right. "That time won't come soon enough."

"No arguing with you there." Rob looked back at the egg eaters. "I won't harm either of you, but don't think I won't go after you if you try to escape, and if you try to hurt anybody in this group I will make you regret it. Consider this your one and only warning."

Threehorn was more or less surprised by the transformation, but for some reason he didn't go into an outburst like he usually did. Instead, he just watched it happen. It seemed he was by this point used to it after the other humans transformed as well. "Now we have another one. Wonderful. At least you don't look hurt."

"Well look at it this way," Littlefoot added. "He's not stuck in a dangerous form like Rob's fast biter body." The moment Littlefoot said those words he gasped and realized his mistake. "Oops."

"Crap," Rob muttered. He had hoped his fast biter form would have been a secret during his part of the journey, but now the two egg eaters knew about him. "This isn't going to end well."

Rob shook his head as the two egg eaters started to bicker with each other. "You know you two better calm down or else this trip is going to be very difficult." He then looked at Littlefoot. "Are you sure you remember the way?"

"Sure I do," Littlefoot answered. "I wouldn't be able to forget this even if I tried."

"You wouldn't have needed to even go this way if you hadn't gone to that water in the first place," Threehorn scolded. "You kids made us really worried."

"I know, and I'm really sorry," Littlefoot apologized. "We had no idea that earth shake was gonna happen."

"We;; what's done is done," Rob added. "That was in the past, and now we have to worry about getting these two out of here in one piece."

Littlefoot sighed as Bron came over and weighed his opinion on the situation. "It's not that simple dad. I should have thought of something else instead of putting her at risk. There was another way to do it. There must have." The more he said it, the more terrible he felt about it. Even talking to his father didn't seem to make him feel better about it.

Rob laughed as Miles handed out a chocolate bar to Sparky. "I always wondered how dinosaurs would taste chocolate."

"What's....... cho...co....late?" Littlefoot asked, struggling to pronounce the word.

"Well, it's kind of like tree sweets," Rob explained. "It's something you normally don't eat all the time, but it's really good when you have it."

"Why don't you have it all time?" Littlefoot asked. "If it tastes good, I would want it all the time."

"Because it's it's not healthy for you," Rob answered. "It's kind of complicated to explain."

"Oh, well okay," Littlefoot laughed. "Okay guys. Follow me. I'll take you to the river. You'll be able to reach the Big Water from there."

"Everyone stay together!" Threehorn ordered. "Don't stray away from the group, and keep your eyes on those two!" Everyone could tell he was referring to Ozzy and Strut. He then turned to Rob. "Are you sure you don't want to stay with them? They could use you to help protect them from danger."

"As much as I would like to help, I'd much rather be helping you protect the valley," Rob explained.

Although they were all playing and enjoying the time together, Littlefoot couldn't help but notice tension coming from Ducky. He could tell that she was still very angry with him about forcing her to be bait, regardless of the reasoning. He had hoped he could further explain it to her, but at the moment it didn't seem like she would listen. Even more concerning, at the back of his mind Littlefoot couldn't help but feel something was off. Was it really mere coincidence that a couple days ago he had a bad sleep story about Sharptooth, and now these feelings were brought up again about him? Littlefoot shook his head and tried to forget about it, but he knew that this sense wasn't going to leave him any time soon.

Threehorn didn't want to admit it, but Pangaea was right. If there was another sharpteeth attack in the valley, he would have to be here to protect it. "I don't think this is a good idea, but you seem to have a grasp of the situation. If you're sure you can handle this, then I will take you that far and then I will stay behind"

"If you're gonna stay to keep the valley safe," Rob added, "then I guess I'll stay as well. You'll need my help."

"If you wish," Threehorn acknowledged.

"If you want me to, I can take you to that river," Littlefoot nodded.

"Then I think you should come right back," Rob added. Littlefoot turned to him.

"You don't want me to stay with them?" he asked in confusion.

"Look I know you want to help, but I don't trust Ozzy and Strut one bit. For all we know they may try and come after you again."

"But why can't you come with us to protect me then?" Littlefoot asked.

"Believe me, I would," Rob responded, "but Pangaea is right. The smaller the group the less to account for."

"I guess you're right," Littlefoot nodded.

"Then that's settled." Rob looked over at Pangaea. "I'll come with you only till we reach that river, and then I'll take Littlefoot back here with me. How does that sound?"

I gotta say, I really liked this a lot. I thought it was pretty clever how you blended the trailers together, and the contrast between Winnie the Pooh and LBT worked very well for what the idea of the original movie is. Keep up the good work  ;)

"Hey wait up guys!" Littlefoot chased after his friends, hoping that this new game would take his mind off of things. He didn't want there to be any tension between him and Ducky considering how much the two of them had been through together, but in the back of his mind he knew he was going to have to confront her about it sooner or later. He just hoped that she wouldn't remain upset with him over it. Stop thinking about it Littlefoot. When the time comes you'll talk to her about it.

Littlefoot laughed at Cera's comment. "Cera do we even need to bring up the time you tried to win the log running game and how your father had to save you? I'm no swimmer myself but I'm pretty sure you're gonna have a hard time with this one."

Littlefoot nodded towards Shorty. "Yeah, it was." He didn't want to go any further into it because he didn't want to bring up the tension between him and Cera about her. Every day he thought about that fight and he hoped never to relive it. I bet Cera wants to forget about it as well. "Well anyway, it was a long time ago, so let's not talk about it anymore." At the same time he glanced at Ducky briefly. Maybe later I'll talk to her about it, but now I just hope she forgets about it. At the sound of swimmer race Littlefoot lightened up a bit and laughed. "Sure, that sounds like fun, although I think we all know who will win."

Littlefoot could tell by Cera's confusion that she had no idea what they were referring to. He didn't want to bring up any bottled emotions out of Ducky, even though it seemed like she was already showing some hidden anger. "Well, we never told you exactly how we got Sharptooth into the water. Before you arrived, we all were positioned around the area. Petrie was on lookout to make sure Sharptooth was in the right spot, and Spike and I were up top so we could push the boulder. We needed somebody to get Sharptooth into the water, so...." Littlefoot couldn't finish explaining, but it seemed like he didn't need to. All he could do was look back at Ducky, ashamed at himself.

The moment Ruby said the word "Sharptooth," Littlefoot winced a bit. It had been some time now since they had defeated Sharptooth, but part of him still hadn't gotten over his mother's death. He still thought about it every day, but he was very surprised it was getting to him so much today. Sure, he had a bad sleep story about Sharptooth a couple days ago, but he didn't really think it would have affected him this much. No. What was really getting to him was exactly the same thing that Ducky was now angry about. She had never mentioned anything about it since it happened, so Littlefoot always assumed she had gotten over it. Guess I was wrong. She still thinks about it too. He could tell that she was not in the mood to play anything related to sharpteeth, and now it was putting him off as well. "Yeah maybe we should play something. I'm not really feeling up for sharptooth tag either."

He wasn't sure why, but for some reason Ducky's absence from the group reminded Littlefoot of their encounter with Sharptooth. They had used Ducky as bait in order to lure Sharptooth into the water so he and Spike could push the boulder on top of him. Had Cera not shown up they wouldn't have been able to accomplish it. Every day after that he wondered if it was really fair to make Ducky do that, but he never got the chance to talk to her about it. Why am I thinking about this? It's been so long since we got rid of Sharptooth. Does it have anything to do with the sleep story I had a couple days ago? He didn't realize it, but this pondering caused him to zone out a bit.
