Wrong move. Burdock thought. Burdock threw the rag to the ground and held his breath, then batted his sword with strength at the dracon's neck, this time with the intention of killing.

The blade struck the dracon leader in the throat, and he managed to speak one last time, although it was less of a speech and more like the sound of a little hatchling. Given that his throat was sliced open, it was all he could do before collapsing.

Noticing that he dispatched his target, Burdock looked around at the surrounding witnesses, and decided to breath when he saw that he wasn't as close the cloud of haze. As per his habit, Burdock checked the body and only found a few coins in it's pocket. After this Burdock made his way out of the building and walked to where he last seen Delphine hide, chancing that she knew he was coming back from the incident solved.

The leader of the Dracon gang was not dead; he was badly hurt and lay in a pool of his own blood, but it took more than that to kill a Dracon, albeit not a whole lot more. This had been his plan all along; to either kill an interloper, or better yet, to lie there and have his own panicked, drunken cowards who called themselves a gang to leave when they had sobered up enough. His employer would think he was dead, and all that would remain would be to get out of town before anyone thought otherwise.

"Hey Delphine, come out." Burdock shouted. "I think your problem is solved."

Delphine came out of the doorway, looking at Burdock. She could smell blood on him. Given that he had returned alive, the female came to the conclusion that

"You won. Is he gone?"

"More than that." Burdock acknowledged. He was still holding his sword, and shook the blood off it a little.

"Alright. Good. Let's go back to the palace. You should get cleaned up for tomorrow. I don't think we need to mention this to the others. And thank you." Delphine moved over to Burdock and gave him a quick hug.

Burdock shrugged the hug off. "Yeah yeah..." he said in a low voice. He was trying to hide that he was flattered.

"Ok, let's go." Burdock said, and started walking back to the palace after he sheathed his sword.

Delphine managed to get them into the palace, despite the mess. Luckily, Burdock was not too much of a mess, and the guards were not willing to interfere with someone in league with Adykon. Normally, this wouldn't have happened, but the king was depending on Adykon to be the hero the legend had said he would be, although it could have been that history hadn't chosen him so much as it was sheer circumstance. Regardless, association with the warrior had positive consequences for Burdock, and by extension, Delphine, even if this benefit was the ability to go to the common areas of the palace, and from there, to Delphine's room again.

Burdock was noticing no one questioned his appearance as they walked to Delphine's room. He walked in her room and asked "How am I going to get clean?"

"There are rooms with running water, but mine doesn't have any. Only the privileged people get that, like the king, or his wives, or..." Delphine thought for a moment before coming to the best solution she could think of.

A few minutes later, the two lapines were standing outside of Adykon's room.

Burdock knocked on the door, unsure of what he was doing was right or not.

"I'm sure he will let you just wash off really quickly. Splash some water on and-"

"If you're looking for Adykon, he isn't here!" A female dracon's voice rang out from the room. It was Aerta. "You can come in, whoever you are!"

Burdock opened the door and walked in a little.

"Hey, hi. May we use your shower?" Burdock asked, not even looking at the person, as to not intrude on their privacy

Aerta the archmage lay on the bed, covered with a blanket iup to her chest. Nothing could be seen that would offend anyone.

"Adykon went to check on his son. I'm just trying to rest and recover my power. I know who you are, don't worry. You can use the shower."

burdock walked in and removed his armor and shirt. He got an interesting idea, and looked at Delphine.

"You wanna join in the wash?" Burdock joked with an enthusiastic voice.

"I was about to ask!" By the time Burdock and Delphine were in the bathroom, she had already loosened what little clothing she had on. No sooner than he had asked her had she removed it, then turned on some hot water.

Meanwhile...

Burdock was not the only one who had walked the streets of Minbenthac that night. Adykon had a meeting to keep. He had to see his son before risking death yet again. The boy was probably asleep by now...

Burdock removed the rest of his clothing and jumped in the shower with Delphine. He touched her hips with his hands

"Want to wash each other? This is so silly. Ha ha." Burdock was still laughing at the idea. It was obvious more of him was enjoying it.

"Sure thing! Where's the soap. Ah... here. Why does Dracon soap smell like pomegranate? I hate that. Oh well. Let's begin" Delphine grabbed the bar of soap and got to it.
