Good to see she's back on board too! :D

Also, I just looked at the Wikipedia article and I've seen some interesting stuff (which I'm pretty sure isn't legit at the moment). Apparently, Corey Burton and Jim Cummings are replacing John Ingle and Kenneth Mars, respectively, while Kiefer Sutherland and Miriam Flynn are returning to voice Bron and Grandma, respectively.

Character Discussion / Pterano

I've always found Pterano's character to be intriguing. He certainly does seem selfish and ambitious, but he also has a good heart and good intentions to contrast it. I've honestly always thought he will do good as long as it benefits him in some way.

Do we have a Top 10 list for this year? If not, should we?
I haven't done this since, like, the previous decade. But I guess I could easily do it again. What the hell.
Hooray, that's a relief to see! Since I'm new, how do we do it?

Character Discussion / Bron

I don't know if anybody has suggested this already, but regarding Bron's apparent lack of search for Littlefoot in the Great Valley, I thought maybe Bron had searched there and did not find Littlefoot. Maybe he arrived at the Great Valley before Littlefoot and his friends in the original movie- and as well as the other adults as well because he did not meet up with Littlefoot's grandparents either.
I know it is kind of a stretch to believe because Bron began his search long after Littlefoot and the others but being an adult probably means Bron could move faster than kids (the gang) to the Great Valley, and since he was probably traveling alone, it is also possible for him to travel faster than the grownup's herd, because traveling in a herd means you have to wait for everyone to rest and eat, and make they keep up, and things that take up time.

I've always felt that the way Bron said he going to bring his entire herd to the Great Valley to visit at the end of LBT 10 meant that he had been there before and he knows the way. However, since he got there before Littlefoot he did not find his son and so moved on to search for him somewhere else. It was only then that Bron's herd own began to form and to try to answer another question about Bron- why he was unable to go to the Great Valley with Littlefoot at the end of LBT 10- I think it was because Bron's herd at this time is too big. He does mention he had to leave some of his herd behind during the longnecks trip to the crater valley so we never see the size of the entire herd; maybe Bron's herd is too big a population for the Great Valley to support for a long time. They could only visit but not stay.
I actually had this thought for a long time and I just didn't sign up on the forums long enough ago to make the suggestion. Thank you for expanding my points there. :D

I'm honestly not a big fan of concluding things as mere plot-holes
Sometimes things just have no explanation and can't be concluded as anything but a plot hole. There's numbers of plot holes in stories that don't have any realistic explanation, often caused by contradiction or the author not thinking things through. Unfortunate, but it happens a lot with writing. Being an author myself, this has happened numerous times with me.
That's just me, don't judge.

I somehow doubt his parents are in this one.  From waht we've seen, Chomper and Ruby appear to be in the Great Valley and not going on this one.

(Perhaps Chomper is ticked at a certain comment of Bron's.  Cough *All Sharpteeth are cowards!* Cough and doesn't wanna help or felt that he wouldn't be welcome (Who knows, perhaps this is when Bron met Chomper only a few times and hence still wasn't that keen on him and Chomper doesn't seem to like being around those who don't like him..  Perhaps Bron actually called him a coward to his face and Chomper is still sore over it.  This coulda happened before Brave Longneck Test for all we know.)  And since Chomper isn't going, Ruby, who had promised to personally look after him, is unable to go either.

On the flip side, if Chomper DOES somehow end up coming along (perhaps tailing the Gang secretly with Ruby) and his parents DO somehow end up near where Bron is, I can honestly see Chomper fighitng his own parents to help Bron.

Chomper has already tripped his own mother before to help Littlefoot and the Leaf Eaters.  Later, he hid them in the fifth movie from his parents and lied to help hide them when they were in that bush.

Also, Chomper coming could be an asset.  He could always use his Sharptooth speaking ability to misdirect those pesky Yututyranuses.

Besides, Chomper is a sweet  :angel  and wouldn't help his parents against the Gang.

Also, Chomper might not be allowed to go due the mere fact that he is a Sharptooth and some in the Great Valley might question what he'd do unsupervised in the Mysterious Beyond.

Of course, we have three more reasons for Chomper and Ruby NOT to go: Red Claw, Screech, and Thud.  As those three are after him and Ruby, bringing more Sharpteeth along to an already dangerous journey is a very bad idea.  Plus, though Chomper and Ruby do sometimes go into the Mysterious Beyond, they rarely are seen going out of sight of the Great Valley into it.

Indeed, Ruby may indeed forbid Chomper to go, saying that if she lost him, his parents would be ticked.

On the other hand, perhaps Littlefoot & Co sneak off, without permission, to go get Bron (they've done that sort of thing countless times) and Chomper and Ruby stay behind as they have some reason to, perhaps to keep the grownups from trying to stop them, so they are like distractors to keep the grownups busy.

Or, perhaps they talk to Grandpa and Grandma Longneck and, after discussing why Littlefoot is so desperate to rescue Bron, Chomper FINALLY learns what happened to Littlefoot's mother.  Indeed, perhaps at that point, Chomper, feeling guilt for what he is, secretly sneaks off to go help Littlefoot (hence why he wasn't shown with the Gang for a lot of the trailer) and arrives just in time (he'd probably be better at getting up the Fire Mountain than the Gang with that balance of his.) to help Bron.
Pretty good points made there. Can't wait to see what the movie will confirm from this.

I think I just said this in some Skype chats, but It'd be real interesting in Chomper's parents are in this. If Bron and Chomper's parents are in the same area, that would make a lot of suspense, and conflict around the whole gang. It could put Littlefoot and Chomper's friendship to the test, give Cera a new reason to turn on Chomper. Even if Mama and Papa sharptooth didn't ever attack Bron, just that possibility would add a lot of urgency to Littlefoot's journey to help his dad.

I'm just speaking out of my tailhole here. There's no indication of Chomper's parents even being mentioned yet. Just wishful thinking on my part. :)
That would honestly be very interesting to see, then!

I'm honestly not a big fan of concluding things as mere plot-holes (I love thinking there's more to any story than what we're visually seeing and that it should be up to our imaginations), so I will assume someone managed to witness the fight from a safe distance and told Bron about it later on when he was asking around (or maybe after they established a familiarity with each other).

As for him not reacting happily, I think he was more shocked than happy, which then tells me he concluded Littlefoot died as well at some point in the past. As for Bron not going to the Great Valley, well, maybe he went there before Littlefoot and his in-laws made it, didn't find them there, and went back out to the Mysterious Beyond.

Remember people, BUY IT when it comes out so they'll want to make the next one.  I know I'll be buying it - and I never buy ANYTHING when it comes to movies and TV.  It's mainly to show support.  I'll be pirating it before I buy it just because it's easier and I want to see it ASAP.
I'll try my best on that! :D

It is more likely to be a bad thing than a good thing. They also made a CGI animated version of Winnie the Pooh I think and it just wasn't the same :(
Oh yes, I believe I saw that. The animation was definitely irksome for me. <_<

General Land Before Time / LBT sequel

The Great Longneck Migration. It had to be the most action-packed and gripping of the sequels in my honest opinion. Plus, Bron's appearance was the huge twist of my childhood.

Actually, "Jurassic World" began pre-production as way back as 2013, so I think the LBT staff saw it was happening and expected it to be popular. I mean, the sequels first came out after "Jurassic Park" was released and became popular; I think this is the same case here.
I'm not so sure about that. The first Jurassic Park movie came out in June 1993 while the second Land Before Time movie came out in December 1994. I am pretty sure that it would take longer than a year and a few months to storyboard, animate/film, and release a movie, even if it was direct to video. You could argue that since they are by the same company, they got the idea during production (well before the release of JP) to make another LBT film. But this is just speculation.
I think that was what I meant...

Character Discussion / Who do you think is more sinister?
« on: August 07, 2015, 09:04:05 PM »
I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Ozzy is just a traditional Egg Stealer who was getting REALLY ANNOYED with the same kids interfering with his plans. Sierra, on the other hand, was a full-blown psychopath. There's no other reason why he would suggest feeding hatchlings to Sharpteeth out of the blue and frightening Pterano.

Normally, I would say Chomper, but I decided to go off the standard of awesomeness and vote for the original Sharptooth. Man, nothing could bring that guy down (except for a rock and a fall off a cliff, of course)!

Character Discussion / What to do about Chomper's future?
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:50:16 PM »
Realistically, I will have to say that as Chomper grows, insects will not sustain him forever. I agree with all of those who say Chomper turning into a true Sharptooth is not out of the realm of possibility for the LBT universe, and that it could make a very engaging, heartbreaking story if done right. I've honestly always thought Littlefoot and Chomper's relationship was a bit of a tragic one.

Character Discussion / Petrie's blind defense of Pterano
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:35:01 PM »
We've never seen Petrie's father before, so I've always thought Pterano was the closest he could get to a father figure. And I don't blame him for being so naive in the movie; like someone else said (too lazy to recheck the discussion), naivety is part of his personality.

There is one problem about Littlefoot becoming a leader of a herd. He doesn't want to leave the Great Valley (and who can blame him?). Would he (who has been settled for most of his live be a great leader to a herd of nomads? And if those nomads would agree to settle down in the Great Valley because their new leader doesn't want to lead them anywhere else, would they still need a leader in the traditional sense of the term? Does Littlefoot (in spite of meeting the requirements) want to be a leader? And are those who don't want to be leaders the best leaders you can get?
I'm afraid these questions would send the thread too far off topic, but they are questions which might make for an interesting thread elsewhere.
I've always thought he'd be more inclined to leave the Great Valley if his grandparents died, since he has no other family in the Great Valley. Yes, yes, I know he's got his friends too, but I think after his mother's death, he'd think family is worth more than friends, no matter how much he loves them. Again, that's just my personal opinions and I just wanted my input in it.

Anyway, favorite pairings of mine:

-Littlefoot/Ali: It just clicked to me when I watched LBT 4.
-Ali/Shorty: Pretty interesting pairing, actually; I saw it in an LBT fanfiction I enjoyed and it intrigued me.
-Grandpa Longneck/Grandma Longneck: After all those years, they still make a pretty good team.
-Bron/Littlefoot's Mother: Well, without them, we wouldn't have Littlefoot, now would we?
-Petrie/Ducky: AllegroGiocoso describes it perfectly for me.
-Topsy/Tria: I was surprised by this pairing at first in LBT 11 and didn't know what to think of it at the time, but I warmed up to it once we got to LBT 12.
