It's simple. We are going to make a story, but there are a few rules.
First off, it needs to be done in alphabetical order. The first poster will start with A. The next poster will start with B. The next poster will start with C and so on. When we reach Z, the next poster does A.
Next, there is a limit to how much you can write. You can do no more than a paragraph and you are limited to one character per post. Only when it is necessary may you do another. Otherwise, don't bother.
Now, there's NO plot, NO storyline. It's just pointless. Go crazy and put in ANYTHING you want.
That's it for the rules. Let's begin, shall we?

A bright and sunny day began within The Great Valley.
-
But the sunny day turned out to be chaotic because a bunch of characters from Twilight came to destroy it all!

Cera however; were perfectly fine with that.

Ducky was swimming in the water near her family's nest playing with her siblings.

Eventually she stopped.
-
For heavens sake! Littlefoot yelled.
-
Grandma Longneck looked up at Littlefoot's sudden exclaimation and asked. "What's wrong, dear?"

"Hey guys, what's going on?" asked Chomper, walking up
-
"I don't know." Petrie replied.
-
"Just so you know, I never heard you say "I" Petrie," said Ruby, surprised by her friends grammar
-
"Kool-aid is the answer." Petrie replied, "I drank a lot of kool-aid so now I can speak with proper grammar."

"Let me see that sometime," Chomper smiled
-
"Maybe Little Foot should have some Kool-aid." Bella from Twilight chimed in.

"Nevermind, anyone know where I can find some meat?" Chomper asked
-
"Over that way is slow moving water with some fish in it, there is, there is." Ducky said.

"Petrie have you also been playing Ace Combat Zero lately?" Fastclaw aksed.
-
"Quite possibly," replied Petrie
-
"Runners love to run, because running is the best thing for a runner to do." Ruby replied when she was asked why she was called a fast runner.

"Sharpteeth have sharp teeth used to eat meat," Chomper explained, munching on a tasty fish
-
"That's right, and some dinosaurs beat the tarpit stink out of any sharpteeth who try to use those teeth on them," replied Cera as she waded in a shallow part of the water.

"Usually sharpteeth win in the end," Chomper taunted Cera slightly
-
"Very few times that I"ve seen. Most of the ones I've seen the sharpteeth are dealt with comedically." Cera said to Chomper as she smiled in her usual taunting way, to taunt him a bit in return..in a friendly manner, not a mean manner.

"While, there are plenty of other places in the world where the situation is quite different," Chomper replied, ending the discussion.

"Xenaphobic is what you will be when I'm through with you!" Cera said, ready to charge down the small sharptooth.

"Yeah, I'm sorry," Chomper apologized. He wasn't afraid of getting hurt, he just didn't want to fight with Cera. "Let's just forget about this."

"Zealous as ever to avoid any fighting. You're one strange sharptooth," Cera remarked, rolling her eyes as she backed down. She couldn't bring herself to actually fight a "hatchling" anyway. She didn't want to be called a bully.

"Aw man, all the sweet bubbles are crushed," complained Littlefoot
-
"Believe me, Littlefoot," Cera replied, eyeing a certain someone who wouldn't defend himself, "It's not like you'd've gotten any with him around anyway."

Chomper looked offended "That was mean Cera," he said. Spike began licking the smashed berry juice and putting it on a few tree stars
-
Ducky glanced between her two quarreling friends. "You should not fight, no you should not."

"Exactly," added Chomper. "Look Cera, let's just put this fighting behind us and just have fun, ok?"
-
"Fun is better then fighting for sure." Cera said.

"Great," smiled Chomper, glad the fight was over. "Let's go swimming!"

"Here I go!" Littlefoot yelled, as he jumped into the water. But he made a much bigger splash than he intended to- and it went all over Chomper!

It didn't bother Chomper, who also jumped in, and relaxed in the water. "Look out below!" Petrie smiled, flying from high in the sky and doing a dive bomb into the water

"Just remembering how Chomper was when he first got here," Cera started say with a grin, turning to Ducky, "The way you can actually teach a sharptooth to swim- even I'm impressed!"

"Key to learning anything is practice Cera," Chomper replied.
"Yup yup yup," added ducky
-
Looking down, Cera replied, "Yeah, I guess so. Even Littlefoot commented before we even found the Great Valley how it's naturally more difficult for sharpteeth to swim because of their smaller arms. But you managed to learn anyway," the sadness in her voice very obvious. She had never forgotten how unsuccessful she had been with the log running game, no matter how much and many times she had tried, because it is so much more difficult for her kind to do that type of thing. Right now, she was actually feeling a little jealous of Chomper.

"Might we play some COD4? I'm getting sick of Halo 3,' littlefoot complained.

Not me, Ecco said and pushed Cera into the water.

"Oomph!" went Cera, landing in the water
-
"Please don't get mad at me Cera!" Ecco called to her playfully with a grin. "I just thought you were acting a little too dramatic just then." With that, he comes up and sits at the water's edge, soaking his feet in the cool water, not wanting to get all wet just yet.

"Quit worrying, I'm not angry," Cera replied.

Relieved and ready to have some more fun, Littlefoot announces, "Hey! I'm gonna see how long I can hold my breath underwater. Someone count slowly and tell me what number you get to when I surface." With that, he swims over to the deepest part of the water, which ended up being the darkest, takes a deep breath, and submerges. After going a little deeper, he sees some pretty fish swim by, then moves his legs around to keep him from going down much farther. But in doing so, two of his legs get caught in some underwater vines, and he struggles, but can't break free. As more time passes, all everyone else can think at the moment is how unusually well Littlefoot can hold his breath...

"Something's wrong, there is, there is..." Ducky commented

"Then maybe you can go down and have a look and come back and tell us what you see." Cera said. She'd jump in herself but Ducky was a swimmer after all.

"Um, you got it," replied Ducky, who proceeded to swim under water. After a few seconds, she noticed Littlefoot trapped by vines!

Very, very quickly, Ducky had to make a decision. Even she has trouble holding her breath as long as Littlefoot has been. Should she waste valuable time in trying to get help, or try to free him herself? Those vines look fairly strong. Could she break them off of him herself?

Without warning, Mo showed up. He could see the trouble Littlefoot was in

X-shaped vines sticking out of the ground were keeping Littlefoot stuck fast. Seeing this, Mo swam up and bit through the vines as close to Littlefoot's legs as possible so that there wouldn't be enough excess slack hanging from him to get him caught again. Although free, Littlefoot's lack of air had weakened his body to the point that he couldn't even make himself move, let alone swim up. Mo got underneath him, pushing him up as he swam. Reaching the top, he applied extra force to knock Littlefoot on to dry ground. But he still wasn't moving and his eyes wouldn't open...

"Yikes! What happened?" asked Chomper, rushing besides Littlefoot

"Zounds, Littlefoot looks hurt, What we do?" Petrie asked looking around at the others present.

Almost immediately, Mo jumped out of the water and landed with all his weight on Littlefoot's chest. Mo slid off of him back into the water because the impact caused Littlefoot to start coughing up a lot of water. Though his lungs didn't start working normally right away, his breaths slowly became less shallow and rapid and he was eventually able to take in bigger amounts of air, but it still sounded like he was gasping because his lungs hadn't completely cleared yet.

"Be quick, we may need to get his body higher then his head since water flows down and may flow down from his body and out, it may it may." She said looking at the larger folks present as she went over to try to do what she had said.

"Can't argue with a swimmer about water," Cera said, starting to push Littlefoot's body to a steeper part of the shore with her head so Ducky's plan could take effect. "A little help here! Longnecks are really, really heavy!"

During this Spike stopped eating and went over to where Littlefoot was to try to help what Cera and Ducky were doing by helping Cera to push Littlefoot.

Ever so quickly, Chomper and Ruby came to help. "I hope Littlefoot's not hurt," Chomper said, scared for his friend

"Face it, guys. Littlefoot has gotten through worse situations than this, so I'm sure he'll be just fine and back to his old, optimistic self," Cera replied, hiding her own worries as Littlefoot's body finally came to a rest on an incline, facing down. "Let's see if Ducky is right about this."

Gasping in breath Littlefoot then coughed. He continued to do this to clear out his lungs. His position helped with clearing out his lungs. With his condition and his coughing he wasn't able to do much else at the moment.

"Hey are you alright there littlefoot?' fastclaw asked.

"I think I am," Littlefoot coughed
-
"Just stay there until you get better, because you'll get better if you stay there," Ruby said.

"'Kay", was all Littlefoot said. He knew he'd be all right now, but his body was still so weak from lack of air that he didn't want to move or even talk much. But he had to ask. "Who- (he started having a mild coughing fit, but it soon stoppped) helped me get out of there?"
PS:
'Kay is an abbreviation that characters say sometimes when they aren't in the mood to say the entire word "okay."

"Let me see...so a wood chuck cannot chuck wood because a wood could not chuck wood even if he could, so therefore, a wood chuck would not wood chuck wood." Grandpa Longneck decided to add some confusion to the poor little dinos brains.

"Mud brother! You okay now?" was the response Littlefoot got. "Mo!?" he exclaimed in shock. "When did you? Why are you? How were you able?" he paused, then gathered his thoughts, "I'm so glad you're here. You've saved me from drowning twice now! Thank you Mo. But you're in the Great Valley again! What's your story this time?"

"Nuts!" Cera exclaimed as she saw Mo staring at her with his big, wide eyes.
"Peanuts?" Mo asked. Cera had that "WTH?" expression on her face.

Opening his long mouth to speak, Mo replied, "Remember great, big rock you help Mo jump over to get Mo home, "Yittlefoot"? Well, Mo was swimming around and noticed it gone! Musta been earthshake that move it. It no come back, ever never! So, Mo thought he say hi to all his mud brothers. But when Mo saw you, "Yittlefoot", Mo thought it best to say hi after you okay, so Mo help you get that way. Now Mo ready. Hi mud brothers!"

"Pleased to see you again Mo. You came just in time." Littlefoot said. Still feeling a bit weak but feeling better not what his lungs were clear and he could rest and breath normal again. He smiled as he continued to look at Mo, happy to see him again since their last visit together.

"Question for mud brothers," Mo announced. "Everything fine now, so you want hear Mo sing again? Mo learn great new song. Even longer than one Mo sang that flying bugs like so much," but even though nobody had had a chance to respond to his question yet, Mo was already starting to open his mouth wide to start singing since he was sure they'd like it. Although that wasn't really the feeling from anyone besides Ruby, Chomper, and Ecco, since they had never heard him do this before. But the gang of five remember all too well what it is like to hear Mo "sing."

"Really, you don't have to sing Mo," Cera said, trying her best to cover her ears

"Surely you are still tired from saving Littlefoot. You should rest now. You should. You should," Ducky said politely without mentioning the main reason that she was saying so right now. Although, it became pretty obvious after Ducky began doing the same thing as Cera. After seeing that, even the oblivious three understood now.

Then a large amount of sweet bubbles and a buzzer hive fell from a tree. "Yummy," Chomper smiled at the buzzers, while the others looked at the sweet bubbles hungrily.

United, those that could run or fly bolted (except Littlefoot, who just tried walking fast) towards the treats now before them, leaving Mo in the water. They all actually had better manners than to tackle their food, but Mo didn't know that. He just thought, "Mud brothers very hungry. Mo sing later." Of course, that is exactly what their frantic scramble was supposed to make him think. They were too polite to say "We'd rather not hear you break into song," so acting savagely hungry would give them an excuse to get out of having to listen but without hurting Mo's feelings.

Very much so, they began eating the treats. "Anyone want to try a buzzer?" Chomper asked his friends, trying to be polite

With all the thoughtfulness he had, Littlefoot kindly responded, "Thank you for the kind offer. I know there aren't nearly as many buzzers here as there are in the Mysterious Beyond, so it is VERY generous of you to offer them to us. But we all have more food than we need, so you had better eat up. One good thing a sharptooth needs is his strength." He then smiled warmly at his little buddy. He has been, is, and always will be, he believes, Chomper's dear friend. But he also never has been, isn't, and never will be, he believes, a fan of eating buzzers.

"xylophagous spike tails are over there," noticed Petrie. (It's a real word, look it up.)
Then, much to everyone's surprise, Ducky, Ruby, and Spike said (Well, Spike made a motion suggesting) "We'll try buzzers Chomper," said Ruby

"You're serious?" Littlefoot asked as his mouth dropped open. He wanted Chomper to be as happy as possible too, but, eating a buzzer? He would rather have his grandmother wash his face three times a day then eat a creature, dead or not. He thought he had settled this a moment ago, but Ducky, Spike, and especially Ruby just seem to be going a little too far with this. But then he sighed. "You can't go too far out of your way for a friend," he thought to himself. Taking a deep breath, he said, "Actually, I am a bit curious why you really like them so much. So, could I try just one of them too, please?" he asked meekly.

"Zzz....."went a nearby sleeping leafeater.
"Sure Littlefoot, here you guys go," Chomper smiled friendly, handing one to each of his friends who asked

After looking at the buzzer that Chomper had crushed slightly, Littlefoot's face turned a slight shade of green, and at that moment he would have given anything to have not eaten those sweet bubbles a little bit ago. He had hoped Chomper would be eating too, looking at Ruby, or talking to someone. Unfortunately, as he looked up, Chomper was doing the one thing Littlefoot had hoped he would not be doing- Chomper was looking right at him, and with that innocent smile too. Littlefoot tried smiling back, nauseous as he was, then decided the longer he stared at his "snack", the longer it would be before it was gone. Feeling a sudden rush, he couldn't stand this any longer and popped the whole buzzer into his mouth and started to chew it.

But the surprising part of this was....Littlefoot, Ducky, Ruby, and Spike liked it!
"So whatcha think guys?" asked Chomper

Carefully, Ruby finished chewing, swallowed, and then said thoughtfully, "It tasted differently than I thought it would, but I thought it would taste differently." Putting her hand on her face as she thought about it, she said, "But then, since I thought it would be different and it was different, than my thought wasn't different on how it really was." At that point, everyone was confused and their minds were going, "Uhhh..." But then Ruby said, "I knew it would taste different, and I still prefer sweet bubbles, but buzzers aren't bad either." At that point, everyone could understand her and their minds were going, "Well said, Ruby." "But I want to hear what you others think, so tell me what you think."

Cera replied, "Cool...I think...."

Ducky looked surprised. "They're not bad, they aren't they aren't," she said.
Spike seemed to like them a LOT. "What about you Littlefoot?" Chomper asked, still with that innocent smile

Eyes on Littlefoot, he then lowered his head with his eyes to the ground. "I'm sorry Chomper, but I still prefer treestars." He then paused for a moment. "But when we go on our usual trips to the Mysterious Beyond and there's no green food around, I definately know what I'm going to look for!" he said as he raised his head to show a big grin and then he and the others started laughing. But someone was missing from the fun, it seemed to Littlefoot. He turned around to see that Mo wasn't in sight. "Oh no!" he thought, feeling ashamed. His good friend he hasn't seen since the fast water dried up comes to visit, saves his life, and he was so busy to forget his singing that he actually forgot him. Now Mo's feelings must have been hurt when Littlefoot was having fun with his other friends but neglected Mo completely. He wasn't grinning at all now. "Guys! We have to find Mo," he called desparately to his friends, who in turn, understood as well.

"Fear not mud brother," Mo grinned, surfacing, "I'm right here, that's all!"

"Goodness," Littlefoot said with a huge sigh of relief. "I was afraid you'd left."
"Why Mo leave?" he asked innocently but he knew what "Yittlefoot" was thinking. "Mo no mind Yittlefoot playing with other friends," he replied gently.
"But you just-"
"Mo not hide from feeling bad," he started to say, then looked sheepishly at everyone, "Mo just having- fun?" as he began swimming slowly around.

"Hey, Mo not mad or anything," Mo assured Littlefoot.
Chomper then remembered something back in his home in the MB. "Hey guys, can I ask you something?" he asked

"In a moment Spike," Ducky said when her brother wanted to play. "I am trying to listen to Chomper. I am. I am. What is it Chomper?" she asked.
"Do you guys remember Ruby's Star Day?" Chomper began.
"Oh yes. It was a very special time for her. It was. It was," Ducky agreed.
"Well..." he continued, "She isn't the only one here who celebrates that time, but I just can't be here to enjoy it like she was able to be. Would you guys be okay with me leaving the Great Valley, just for a little while?"

"Just so you know," Chomper added "I flying sharptooth I knew from the MB flew her one night tellinge me that my parents wanted to be with them for my Star Day, which is tomorrow. And don't worry about Redclaw.....ever since I found out he's my uncle, he hasn't done anything bad around me. And, you guys could come if you wanted..."

"Kidding- you are kidding- aren't you?" Cera asked, trying to get her words to come out right. "Mean old Redclaw is your uncle? As in, one of your nice parent's brothers? Since when?" Almost immediately though, she realized what a stupid question she had just asked. "Just tell us what's going on here, Chomper." She was so shocked by his family relations that she didn't even think about his invitation.

(Just go with me on this.)
"Look, I heard from my parents that they encountered Redclaw once, but before they could fight, my dad and Redclaw, noticed they had similar scents, which is how you can tell you're are related when you're sharpteeth.," Chomper explained honestly. "And Redclaw promised he wouldn't hurt me or any leafeater or sharptooth I know, and my parents could tell he wasn't lying."
Littlefoot looked at Chomper's eyes, he could tell that the little sharptooth wasn't lying.
"But if you wanna come, we have to leave tonight so we can find my parents before tomorrow night," Chomper said

"Mysterious Beyond have dangers beside Redclaw. Plus, it be dark! What you think, Littlefoot? You got good ideas. Should we go? " Petrie asked. All eyes focused on Littlefoot.
"Come on guys. There's no need to ask me about this," Littlefoot replied. "This is Chomper we're talking about. We all know what we should do."

"Nice thing to do will be go with Chomper," Petrie said. "Me in."
"I'll come with Chomper, of course," smiled Ruby.
Ducky, Spike, and Cera (albeit Cera was reluctant at first) agreed

"Okay, so we're gonna go adventuring in the Mysterious Beyond as a group, just like always," Littlefoot said happily. "Now we'd all better get ready to head home and go to our nests since it is getting pretty late."
"Huh?" asked Chomper now completely confused.
"Don't worry. I know what to do. First of all, our parents always call us around this time for sleep anyway. When we get there, we lie down and pretend to sleep. Once each one of our families starts making their sleep noises, we quietly get up and meet by the Secret Caverns where Chomper and Ruby live. When we all arrive, Chomper can lead us to the island since he knows the way better than any of us."
"But Littlefoot, how much time does it take for your families to get to sleep?" Chomper wanted to know.
Littlefoot smiled. "Don't worry. Our families fall asleep the moment their heads hit their nests and they sleep very deeply," remembering how the same thing happened the day they all snuck out and ended up finding Chomper's egg. So does everyone understand?" But the response came from a different dinosaur.
"Littlefoot! Littlefoot! It's time to come home."
"That's my grandpa. Gotta go. I'll see you guys later. Do I know how things work here, or what?" he replied, smiling as he went home. "Good night, Mo!" Mo answered back and looked for a sleeping place for himself.
Chomper said, "This is perfect! Everything will work out for sure now!"
As the others' parents called them until only Ruby and Chomper were left, they smiled at each other and went home to wait.

Pretty soon, Chomper and Ruby were waiting for everyone. "It'll be cool to see your family again," Ruby said. Chomper remembered something he wanted to say. "Knowing my parents, they probably already hunted me down a Star Day meal for when we get there, so it's best you not watch that," he laughed tinily. "That's OK Chomper, I know you kinda have to eat meat," said Ruby

Quickly falling asleep for being the oldest family of the four, Littlefoot's grandma and grandpa were already making sleep noises. Littlefoot started to sneak away, but just then, he heard his grandpa's whisper. He said, "Oh Littlefoot, you always were the adventurist type, weren't you?" Littlefoot froze. How did his grandpa find out? His grandfather continued. "I wish you wouldn't keep roaming about and stay with your family more." Littlefoot didn't know what to say. Chomper is his family too. "Grandpa, I" But his grandfather continued, "But what I can't understand is why you'd want to change your name. Everybody likes it." Now Littlefoot was very confused. He walked over to his grandpa's face and his eyes were still closed! "The name you want doesn't sound anything like your real one. Where in the world did you come up with the name Bron?" Littlefoot made a noise. His grandpa was having a sleep story about his dad! While it might've been fun to listen to, he had an appointment to keep. He got away without waking anyone, and headed toward the Secret Caverns. He figured the others wouldn't be far behind.

Running up, Petrie, Cera, Ducky, and Spike came along side Littlefoot. "We're ready, we are, we are," Ducky smiled.
"That's good," said Littlefoot. Chomper and Ruby were waiting at the Secret Caverns, noticing the five come into view

When they all met up, the others couldn't help talking about their "great escapes".
"How your escape go Littlefoot?" Petrie asked.
Turning a bit red at what happened with him, he simply answered, "Fine."
"All set?" Chomper asked.
"Of course not!" Cera called. "I need to eat before we leave, get this shiny stone I saw for Tria that's nearby, wash my horn, and do some stretches."
"But we don't have time for all that!" Chomper whined.
"Chomper, she isn't going to do any of those things, those things she is not going to do," Ruby replied. "When we get back, I'll teach you a funny way to talk called sarcasm. You might just find it interesting."
"Uh, okay. Thank you," Chomper responded, still confused about how sarcasm works and how Cera's words could possibly be considered as funny. So Chomper took the lead and began the journey to see his family. "Onward to Sharptooth Island!" he called out.
"What that?" Petrie asked.
"That's where my family and I lived remember? You all visited me there a long time ago."
"Oh," Petrie said, just realizing what he was talking about because Chomper and Ruby were the only group members who knew what that place was called until just now.
"And about the many other dangers of the Mystrerious Beyond you mentioned Petrie. There aren't as many as you think for us with my uncle around now."
"What you mean by that?"
"Oh, you'll find out..."

Then the group set off. Chomper used his sniffer to track down the area of the island. "That way!" he smiled, and pointed in one direction.
Petrie wondered what Chomper ment by his comment about Redclaw, but he actually felt it was something GOOD.

While the group was traveling, they didn't realize someone was following them. The sneaker let out a loud giggle, which everyone heard.
"What was that?" Littlefoot asked, feeling a little scared. He looked around and saw nothing.
In between two boulders nearby the stalker zipped between them and giggled again, getting the crowd even more afraid.

X-shaped rocks were hiding the stalker. "I think someone's following us," Cera said nervously. Chomper, began sniffing the air. It was someone he recognized! "It's ok guys, I know her," Chomper said, referring to th stalker. "Her?" the group said confused. A young girl sharptooth emerged from the rocks. "AGH!" the rest of the gang screamed, but Chomper smiled. "Happy Day-Before-Star Day Chomper," Rita the girl sharptooth said, hugging Chomper. "Heading back to your island?"

"Yup! I sure am!" Chomper replied happily, hugging back, and blushing from the affection. Then he realized something that made him grin even more. "Rita, you remembered my Star Day!"
"Of course I did silly! How could I forget your Star Day?" Rita replied, blushing a bit herself.

"zzzzzz..." went Spike, slightly asleep. "Wake up Spike, we have to keep going, yup yup yup," Ducky grinned.
"Well Chomper, nice to meet this sharptooth friend of your's. Lead the way," Littlefoot grinned

"And, the starday celebration may be large, with so many people already here, it may, it may." Ducky said.

"Best we get going then," Littlefoot smiled. "Follow me guys!" Chomper waved, signalling his 7 friends. "Don't worry, like I said, with my uncle around, we have nothing to worry about." Chomper assured his friends

"Can I really come too?" Rita asked, surprised when Chomper had motioned to all seven of his friends, her included. In one way, she was thrilled to be invited to a party with Chomper, but on the other claw, what wonderful gift could she possibly give to someone like him? She wanted this Star Day to be Chomper's best. "I would love to be a part of this!" she exclaimed happily.

"Don't worry, you can come Rita, of course you can," Chomper grinned. "Let's get going," he said, getting a running start.
"Hey! Don't get ahead of us!" Cera laughed

Eyeing the group were two, long-time friends of Chomper's uncle, who were hiding nearby. Unfortunately, not knowing of Redclaw's most recent realization, and since he told them he was going on his own for a while to "watch" someone and wasn't with them, they decided to get a snack on their own. As the group began to run by, they were getting closer and closer to two mouths of teeth!

Fortunately, Redclaw showed up. "What are you two doing?!" he roared to Screech and Thud, seeing Chomper and his pals nearby. "Just getting a snack boss," Thud replied. "I guess I haven't told you then," Redclaw said

Guessing from the fact that Redclaw isn't attacking those kids, Screech and Thud figured that their boss knew something that they didn't. "Are they sick?" Thud asked.
Understanding what he meant, Redclaw answered annoyed, "No, they aren't sick. At least I don't think they are. I'm just not letting anyone else eat them."
"You're saving them for later, boss?" Screech asked. "It's that 'The hungrier you are, the better they taste' thing again, huh boss? Good idea. You always were the patient one," he said cheerfully, although he was actually disappointed that Redclaw wasn't sharing this time.
Now extremely angry, Redclaw roared, "I'm not going to eat them either! I am making sure that they get safely to my brother's place."
"Wow, you sure are nice boss. Giving your brother such a large variety of food sure is generous of you," Thud remarked.
Now Redclaw wanted to eat Sceech and Thud. "That is my brother's son and his friends over there. I am sparing them for my nephew's sake."
"Oh, so that little biter is your nephew, huh? Nice of you to keep his meal from being harmed," Screech complimented.
"FORGET IT!" he bellowed in rage, but then calmed down. "You're here now, so let's all just make sure they don't get hurt."
"Sure thing, boss!" Screech and Thud replied in unison. "Boss sure is smart. If they get hurt, it could ruin the meat," they said to each other.

"Hi Uncle Redclaw!" Chomper waved, seeing the big rex in front of them.
The rest of the gang except for Rita still appeared very nervous, because Redclaw was still a scary sight. Redclaw smiled at his nephew, and Screech and Thud were slightly licking thier lips. "You can only eat leafeaters who aren't my nephews friends," he said. Screech and Thud sighed.
Chomper translated Redclaw's greeting to his friends. Ruby could hear water not too far away. "We're near the big water, the big water is where we're near," she grinned

In a little while, the eleven of them would be at the Big Water, and Sharptooth Island would be in sight. Then something happened next so that nobody would ever be able to say that they weren't glad Redclaw was with them at that time. A large, green-striped sharptooth began to approach them. Other than Redclaw, Screech, Thud, and Ruby, everyone remembered him. Of course, everyone remembered him drowning, but since he actually just drifted away out of sight, that memory originated from a mere assumption. He indeed survived that ordeal on the island and he was not happy. He was never very happy, but since that time, he hasn't been happy at all. He looked at the small scar on his tail. Whether it was very noticable or not didn't matter to him at all. He still remembered what it had felt like very vividly. And now, he wanted the one responsible for it to hurt just as much- or even more.

"Just perfect," the green sharptooth grinned evilly at the kids. He began charging at them.
"AHH!!!!!!!!!!" the kids screamed, but luckily, Redclaw was there he knocked the sharptooth down. "I have no feud with you Redclaw, so let me at them," the green sharptooth demanded. "Too bad, they're my nephew and his friends, so I can't let you do that," he said.
Redclaw then slashed the green sharptooth's throat, injuring him severly. He fell to the ground. "Let's go, before something like this happens again," Redclaw said to the kids and Chomper translated

"Let's get to where we're going before something else happens." Ducky said a bit fearful of what danger they may encounter next.

Moving right along, the gang crossed the land bridge. "Be careful not to fall off," Littlefoot advised his friends
Meanwhile, Chomper's parents were talking. "So, do you have any prey caught for Chomper's star day tomorrow?" Mama Sharptooth asked Papa Sharptooth

"No, not yet," Dein, Chomper's father, replied slightly annoyed.
"What have you been doing all this time then?" his wife Terri asked, equally exasperated.
"That storm earlier may have been a small one, but it was enough to scare all the prey away into hiding," he retorted. "And all that moisture in the air makes it very difficult to use a sniffer, you know. I'll keep looking though. I just came back here to see if YOU caught anything."
Terri looked surprised. "I have been keeping an eye out for our son! You are better at hunting, and I am better at waiting somewhere patiently. Our job positions make perfect sense to me and should remain as they are," she replied.
Dein snorted as he turned around. "I'm going, alright! But who knows? Maybe a good meal will just show up."

Over along the land bridge, Chomper could see a big tan-green rex coming in sight. "MOM!" he cheered happily, running ahead of every else, giving Terri a big hug when he caught up. "Son, we're so happy to see you!" Terri smiled
Meanwhile, a big longneck had fallen asleep on the island, Dein walking near it. "This is perfect!" Dein thought to himself

Pleased with himself, Dein took care of business quickly. "Ah, the perfect delicacy for the Star Day of my son," he thought to himself, remembering how it was Terri's and his favorite and that Chomper would always enjoy it so much. Chomper did like it too, but since flyers were harder to catch, making them a rare meal, he had always been too polite to tell his parents that they were actually his favorite and happily ate whatever they provided. Unaware of this, Dein was going to tell Chomper that he caught his favorite food, which was going to end up with a confession, and the conversation would have really creeped out one of Chomper's smaller friends, if any of the leaf eaters could actually understand sharptooth, that is.

Quite some time later (Actually only about a minute later) Chomper and his mother were finished with their hug. "It's great to back mom," he smiled.
"Good to see you Terri," Redclaw said.
Even though he couldn't understand them, Littlefoot said, "Uh, hi....Mrs. Sharptooth."

Roaring the translation to his mother who roared back an answer, Chomper replied to his leaf eater, "She says, 'Welcome back and enjoy yourself'," to Littlefoot who now looked more comfortable.
Dein had noticed his son's return and had stashed the food out of sight. Walking up, he said, "You've actually shrunk since I last saw you! Have they been feeding you at all over there?"
Chomper just giggled.
"Anyway, for your special day, I just got your favorite food," he beamed proudly.
"Wow! Did you catch enough for all the sharpteeth here?" Chomper asked eagerly.
"Well, the one I found was definately big enough to be the main course for all those here that eat that kind of stuff," Dein replied.
Chomper looked very intrigued. "Really? I had no idea that there was a flyer big enough to feed seven sharpteeth at once! Where did you find one like that?"

Surprised was how Dein looked. "Actually, i had caught a big longneck," he replied. "Well, since I knew flyers weren't easy to catch, I never told you and mom that they are the yummiest," he smiled.
"That's ok son, we know what to find for your next Star Day," Terri grinned.
"Nice to see you again brother," Redclaw said, walking over to Dein.
"I wonder what they saying," Petrie commented

"Truth is, guys," Chomper said, looking at his leaf eating friends. "I, uh, I think you'll be a bit more comfortable eating somewhere else once we get started." But still wanting to be a good host to his friends, he added, "I'll get you guys those colored danglers you had last time you were here since you liked them so much, and put them somewhere for you" he said, smiling.
"You shouldn't feel like you need to do anything for us, especially today, Chomper. But it was nice of you to offer," Littlefoot said, very kindly.
"Don't worry, Littlefoot," Chomper replied. "Even though it's my Star Day, you're all still my friends. And I want to do it for you guys."
Littlefoot came up and gently nudged his friend, who hugged him back. Then, as Chomper began to talk with Rita, Petrie whispered to Littlefoot, "What colored danglers Chomper talk about?"
"I think he's talking about those rare tree sweets we had here before," Littlefoot whispered back.
Petrie's eyes lit up. He called to Chomper, who didn't mind being interrupted, "Me know best place to eat for things like that!" remembering the perfect ingredient he added last time to that food to make it even better.

"Ugh, the Stinky Place?" Cera remembered. "That right Cera," Petrie nodded.
"You guys remember how to get there?" Chomper asked. "We do Chomper," replied Littlefoot. "I don't," replied Ruby, "Because if I did know where it was, I wouldn't not know where it was."
Rita was still wondering what would be a good gift for Chomper's Star Day.

Very tired now, as it was extremely late, Spike yawned, and it was contagious among the children. Terri smiled as she noticed. She couldn't understand leaf eater's words but she could understand leaf eater's sleepy sounds. "Night may be over, but morning is still a while away. You've all walked so far when it's normally sleep time and I can see you're exhausted. You should all get some rest for the big day tomorrow. It gets a little chilly here at night this time of the year, especially right after a storm when everything is damp. You would be much warmer and safer sleeping with us." She looked at Dein. "If you do, you'd best stay by me, as Dein tends to roll around."
Dein snorted. Chomper told the others what his mom had offered.

"Whatever, I just want to get some sleep," Cera yawned.
Chomper translated for his parents, and Terri and Dein led the kids and Redclaw, screech, and Thud to their sleeping place, which was near two trees that were crossed in the shape of a certain english letter. (I set up the X-word for ya.) "Night everyone," Cera smiled, falling asleep first

X-shaped trees that stood tall and were covered with leaves had kept Terri and Dein's nest dry. As the adults settled down, the children slept against Terri's soft, warm body- on the opposite side of Dein. Chomper and Rita snuggled against each other. As everyone else began to sleep, Rita thought of Chomper's deep, red eyes. "That's something to work with," she smiled, as she thought happily about what kind of gift she would get for him, and then went to sleep too.

Yet as the night went on, Rita and Chomper woke up. It might've been Dein's snoring, who knows.
Rita looked up at the sky and saw something. "Look Chomper, a shooting star, make a wish," she said, pointing in to a light flying through the sky

Zero things in the night sky were as beautiful or magnificent as seeing a shooting star. And enjoying one with Rita made it all the more wonderful for Chomper. He really cares about her and he is so happy she came to his Star Day. But then he had a thought. He knew that he was going to enjoy this day more than ever because she was here with him. Then he knew the wish he wanted to make more than anything right now. He closed his eyes and mentally passed his wish to the magic star flying over their heads. He then opened his eyes, smiled at Rita, and suggested that they get as much rest as possible while there was still time to.
"But wait Chomper! What did you wish for?" Rita wanted to know.
Chomper smiled all the more. "When it comes true, I'll tell you what I asked for. Good night Rita." Although Rita was confused about what he meant, she went back to sleep with him, and everyone there continued to sleep until the bright circle appeared in the sky.

A new day dawned. Rita was still snuggling against Chomper when they woke up. "Happy Star Day Chomper," Rita said. Dein awoke, rolling over and crushing some plants and a lone sand creeper.
"So did your wish come true?" she asked with a smile

Because Chomper smiled back and said mysteriously, "My wish hasn't had the time to," Rita was more confused than she was last night. But looking at his eyes again, she remembered that she had to look for something. "Could you excuse me for an bit?" Rita asked him. "Sure, go ahead," Chomper answered, wondering what she was doing but not asking as he knew it wasn't his business. Rita walked off out of sight and began to look for something really nice that was red like Chomper's eyes. She had never seen such a pretty eye color before and wanted to give Chomper something to hang on to and think of her with that matched that special color of his.

Chomper smiled as he watched Rita walk off. Cera soon woke up, due to the fact Chomper's mom was drooling in her sleep. "AGH!" Cera screamed, a dab of sharptooth slobber on her.
"Sorry," Terri apologized, waking up and having Chomper translate. "Happy Star Day son!" Dein and Terri roared happily

"Ducky! Spike!" a female voice called out.
"Cera! Cera! Ceeeraaa!" a deep, gruff voice yelled, angrily.
"Littlefoot, where are you?" an older female voice called, desparately.
The day had started, and none of them had been seen since last night. Nobody in the valley knew where they were, except two other youngsters. One was safe since the grownups didn't even know he had arrived yesterday. But as for the other one, he had been seen with the kids last...
"Excuse me, Ecco," Littlefoot's grandfather asked Ecco as he noticed him lying down in the open getting some bright circle. "Have you seen the children lately?"
Flash Back
"I'd prefer stay in the Great Valley, if you don't mind," Ecco responded when they were all invited to Chomper's Star Day. "I could use the peace and quiet, and somebody needs to cover for you guys, right? I won't lie to your families, but I can keep them from worrying at the same time. Trust me, I know exactly what to tell them. Go ahead without me."
Present
"Yeah, I saw them last night," Ecco answered casually.
"You mean then, you don't know where they are now?" Littlefoot's grandpa asked, even more worried now.
"I didn't say that," he replied. "They're around somewhere. They're just roaming around parts they haven't been to in a while and decided to sleep there. Chomper's idea actually. Thought it would be fun for them to all be together for a while. I assure you though, they'll be back soon and nobody has anything to worry about."
"Why didn't they say anything to us?" he asked.
"I told them that I would, I was just a bit late in doing so. Sorry 'bout that," he answered. And every word he had just said was true in some way.
"Well, thank you for telling me now. I'll go tell the other's so they stop worrying too. Have a nice day, Ecco," he said, walking off slowly.
"Am I good or what?" Ecco thought to himself. "The other's owe me big time when they return."

I have never read a fanfiction with Ecco in it, so my description of his personality is probably highly inaccurate.

Eventually, Terri and Dein were ready to start the celebration. "Dear, will you get your present for Chomper here?" Terri asked Dein
(The longneck carcass is the gift.)

"Food time!" Dein thought as he went to get the gift.
"Will it take long for him to bring it here?" Chomper asked.
Terri was surprised. She never knew Chomper to be impatient. "Well, it is far away and very heavy..."
"Good!" Chomper replied, adding to the confused look on his mom's face. "Now I have plenty of time to get the food ready for my friends. See you in a little bit!" he called running off.
Terri smiled. She did know Chomper after all. Now there were two sharpteeth looking for stuff. As Chomper left to get colored danglers and set them up in the Stinky Place for his friends, Rita was on a mission as well- for Chomper. She had never been on the island before, so she decided not to go too far and get lost. That would have been easier if she was more focused on that and less distracted to find something red that isn't any type of food. Eventually, something red caught her eye. It was red and cone shaped and had ridges on it. Excitedly, she went to pick it up, but it moved! She thought it must have slid or something, but whenever she reached her claw down to pick it up, it got farther away. Annoyed, she pounced on it face first only to feel pain on her sniffer. The red thing had grabbed her and wasn't letting go, and it hurt. She finally tore it off, getting a scratch on her face that drew some blood, and she looked at the thing in her claw. She sighed, exasperated, and dropped it. It was just a rock back claw crawler (hermit crab). She decided that she had to keep going to find something good and get back in time to start the festivities. If she could find her way back.

Green food was gathered by Chomper while Dein had got longneck carcass ready.
What no one realized was that waves were violently slamming against the land bridge, starting to break it slightly.
"Ah ha!" Rita said, eying a Chomper's eyes-colored shiny stone. "Perfect!" she grinned, and luckily, this time it was a rock. "Yeah, this is great!" she said. Realing she might be lost, she knew what to do. She began sniffing the air and picked up Redclaw's trail. She wiped the blood from her cut off her sniffer, she wanted to look the best she could.

Heading toward "Redclaw's trail", nothing seemed familiar to her at all. "Strange," she thought to herself. As she kept following the scent, she turned her head for a moment when she heard a flyer take off from a tree. Then she was very surprised. When she turned her head to the left, she smelled "Redclaw" from that direction too! Turning completely around, it was the same thing. "What!?" she cried, bewildered. She wiped a little more blood off her sniffer that had oozed out a little bit. For just a moment, the scent was gone, then it slowly came back. She rubber her sniffer again to see another drop of blood on her claw. "Oh no," she realized. Redclaw was always hunting, and therefore always smelled of blood, which she had categorizied as Redclaw's scent. She hadn't been following his scent; she had just been aimlessly walking wherever she faced because she was sniffing her own blood! Now she was more lost than ever with no way of finding the others. "Somebody help me," she whispered weakly and afraid.

In a few minutes, Chomper went up Redclaw after he put green food all around the stinky place. "Uncle Redclaw, have you seen Rita?" he asked the big rex. "No," Redclaw replied.
Chomper was concerned, what if she was lost. She told Redclaw to yell something because he could be loud.
"RITA! IF YOU CAN HEAR THIS STAY WHERE YOU ARE! WE'LL FIND YOU!" Redclaw roared very loudly, attracting the gang's attention despite being a distance away.
"Something's wrong guys, we should go to Chomper," Littlefoot said.
"I think I can smell the girl biter's trail boss," Thud said

Just a moment ago, Rita thought she heard someone, but it was so faint that she couldn't hear what was said or even tell who said it. She knew Chomper would come looking for her, the others too. She decided that if they were looking for her, it would be easier for them to find her if she stayed were she was, so she sat down. She tried to relax. "This is Chomper's home and he knows it very well. I'm sure he'll find me; I just have to wait," she said, trying to calm her nerves. "The only danger here is missing the party." But after she said that, she felt even worse. "Chomper has to spend his special day trying to find me," she thought with a tear in her eye. "I wanted this Star Day to be his best but I just ruined it. This dumb rock couldn't even make things better now!" she exclaimed, throwing it away, but it hit a tree and bounced back right beside her. "If only I hadn't come..." Now she was afraid that Chomper WOULD be the one to find her. She couldn't face him after this. She couldn't control herself any longer and put her face in her arm and wept bitterly.

Kole the green sharptooth was still dead. (I could not think of anything for k.)
But Chomper started smelling Rita's trail, no, it wasn't just her scent. It was like Chomper could FEEL where Rita was. "Follow me everyone, I think Rita's in trouble," he said in both languages. "I just hope you know where you're going Chomper," Cera said.
After about 15 minutes human time, Chomper and the rest of the sharpteeth began picking up Rita's trail. "She's this way!" Dein called, pointing in one direction. Chomper ran ahead of everyone, and he soon heard Rita's; voice!
"Rita! We found you!" Chomper cried happily, hugging the girl rex. "Why are you crying?"

Letting herself go like that didn't bother her that much, but to have everyone see her do it was very embarrasing. "You could have been enjoying yourself right now," she said quietly.
"Huh?" Chomper responds, not understanding.
"You asked me to come because you wanted to be with me and I do too. Next time you ask me though, don't let it be your Star Day," she replied, still in a monotone voice.
"What do you mean? A special day is the best time to enjoy a special person," Chomper said kindly, still not getting what she was saying.
"But while you may be enjoying me, you can't say the same about your Star Day, can you?" she asked, still with little emotion.
Chomper wasn't stupid, but at his age, he doesn't get subtleties very well. Trying to cheer her up from whatever was bothering her, he noticed the shiny red stone sitting right beside her and said, "Wow, what a pretty stone! I've never seen one like this before. It's the same color as my eyes too! Where did you find it? It's really nice."

"Maybe...I think right around here," Rita sniffled. "It was going to be my gift for you.." "Rita, I think it's beautiful!" Chomper smiled. "Almost as beautiful as you."
Rita stopped crying. "Really....?" she asked, a smile forming on her face. "Really," replied Chomper. Chomper and Rita then hugged each other. "Don't worry, my Star Day's far from over, we still have plenty of time for fun," Chomper assured.
Redclaw's belly rumbled. "Good, cause I'm getting hungry." He looked at Dein. "Hope that longneck you caught is big."

"No, actually I got the smallest one I could find," Dein replied, giving his brother a serious look. "I knew you'd try to eat most of it and you definately need to lose some weight. Just looking out for you."
Redclaw shot him a glance and there was a pause. Then the two brothers started laughing uncontrollably.
"What they laughing about?" Petrie whispered to Cera when he saw Chomper still talking to Rita.
"Didn't you understand what they said?" she asked him back.
"Uh, no. We leaf eaters no understand sharp tooth," he answered.
"Then how would I know why they're laughing!?" she responded, annoyed at that question.
"Well, guys," Chomper announced to his flat teeth friends, "I remembered what you liked from last time and I made arrangements at the Stinky Place for you to enjoy them. I'd suggest we all eat together, but..."
"That's quite all right Chomper," Littlefoot answered quickly. "But this is YOUR Star Day. You didn't have to give US anything. But thank you for doing it anyway."
"What are friends for?" Chomper replied with a smile. "Let's eat!" he called, and they made their way back with Chomper and Rita holding claws.

Over the course of a few minutes, the gang and Chomper's family as well as Screech and Thud made it back to the main part of the island where the family lived.
The leafeaters went back to the Stinky Place. "Me want just a dab of stinky, it perfect for these berries," Petrie grinned. Sometimes things that smelt bad tasted good apparently.
The sharpteeth were shown the carcass Dein had caught. "That's great dad!" Chomper smiled. "I get the first bite!" he added with a grin

Peering at Rita, she did seem happier since the time he talked to her after she was found, but she still hasn't said much since they started heading back. He wanted his wish to come true so he said, "Actually, I want Rita to take the first bite instead," which put a very surprised look on her face. "Go ahead," he smiled warmly at her. "Girls go first and I hope you really enjoy it."

Questioning, Rita looked briefly confused, but then she smiled at Chomper. "Thank you," she grinned, and gave him a kiss. Rita proceeded to tear into the longneck, it was delicous.
What no one realized that the waves were getting much worse and the land breidge was in great danger of breaking apart.....
"These fruits are very good, they are, they are," Ducky grinned. Spike had, of course, devoured a lot already

Ready to stop eating since he was already quite full, Littlefoot decided to make conversation. "Sharptooth Island sure is a nice place now. It feels even better now than before for some reason."
"That's just because we don't have to worry about sharpteeth here anymore and so we can actually relax now," Cera replied.
Thinking that over, Littlefoot replied, "Hey, you're right! We can really enjoy this place now because we're safe. Too bad we can't stay longer though. I'm having such a good time."
"Oh, Spike and I are having a good time too! We are! We are!" Ducky said, looking at Spike who nodded in agreement.
"Food good too," Petrie added, sprinkling more stinky on a berry before popping it in his beak.
"Come on, guys," Cera said, trying to be the voice of reason for a change. "The Great Valley is our home. We all know that that's the best place in the world. Besides, our families would miss us too much if we stayed here."
"Would you miss yours back?" Ducky asked.
"I didn't say I wouldn't, did I?"
"You no say you would neither."
As an argument began, Littlefoot really wondered what life would be like to actually live there. But then he stopped. "I'm being silly," he thought. This place was nice, but he couldn't imagine life without his grandparents. "Nothing could happen to make me decide to live here, away from my family," he concluded. But soon, that decision would not be his to make...

Slowly but surely, the land bridge was being destroyed. The bad part: Elsie wasn't anyway near Sharptooth Island as she was migrating to a part of the big water far away for some time.....
"Good, eh?" Chomper asked Rita, his parents, his uncle, and Screech and Thud.
"It's very tasty," Rita grinned. "I'll admit dear, you hunt down only the best,," Terri complimented.

Taking Redclaw's side, Screech said, "Redclaw only hunts the very best every single day and he is the very best at doing it," and Thud completely agreed.
Redclaw beamed at the compliment but Dein laughed and said, "Is that so? Chomper tells me that Redclaw has tried to get those six leaf eater kids that showed up here more times than he can count before Redclaw agreed to stop!"
At that, Redclaw turned red. "I was never very hungry whenever they showed up, so I never actually tried to get them. It was just for exercise, really," he replied. "I mean, how many times do you think six little leaf eaters can run right past me without getting eaten? If I had really wanted them, they wouldn't be here now."
"You tell 'em boss!" "Yeah!"
"I'm sure it is very likely that those kids only happened to run into you when you weren't hungry," Dein replied dryly. Terri just laughed.
"Now wait just a moment!" Redclaw replied loudly.
As the adults continued their heated discussion, Chomper finally took Rita's claw and they snuck away. They walked for a little while, holding claws, and just enjoying each other's company and the peace and quiet. Chomper leading of course, they eventually arrived at an edge of the island, sat down together, and they looked at the Big Water together. "It sure is pretty, isn't it?" Chomper asked her, looking at the deep, blue ocean.
"Oh yes, it sure is. The water is even easier to enjoy now because when we sit here, it is the only thing that can be seen," she replied.
"Yeah, I-" then he stoppped and realized what she had just said in her last sentence. He jumped up and looked all around in a panic.
"What's wrong, Chomper?" Rita asked, getting worried from his sudden behavior.
"The water is not supposed to be all that can be seen from here. I know this island very well and so I'm absolutely positive that I came to the right spot, but I can't see it anymore," he replied frantically.
"You can't see what anymore?" Rita asked, not understanding what was going on.
Chomper replied with utmost certainty, "The land path that connected this island to the other side. It's- gone."

Unsurprisingly, Chomper was right! "But didn't you tell me that a big swimming dinosaur could take everyone back to the mainland the last time your friends came here, right?" Rita asked.
"Yeah, but Elsie and every other swimmer like her isn't around..." Chomper said.
"That means...we're stuck here with you and your family," Rita said

Very quickly, Chomper and Rita ran back to the other sharpteeth- who had stopped arguing- and they noticed that the leaf eaters were there too, because everyone was done eating.
"What's the rush?" Littlefoot asked jokingly. "There's still plenty of daytime left."
The two young sharpteeth were out of breath. When they settled down, Chomper asked Littlefoot, "This sure would be a nice place to live, right?"
"Of course!" Littlefoot answered and Chomper's face lit up, "but it is better for us to be with our families though." Chomper's face fell. "What's wrong Chomper?" Littlefoot asked concerned. Then they continued to talk back and forth.
"There sure is a lot of good food here for leaf eaters, isn't there?"
"Oh, definately. So many tree swee- I mean colored danglers to last a really long time. And even more treestars."
"So, it would be possible for leaf eaters to live here if they needed to, right?"
"Very funny, Chomper. Leaf eaters have to be able to survive here. I mean, they get eaten eventually, but they must have survived for a while before they were food."
"Oh- right. Well, what if some leaf eaters could stay here and be completely safe?"
"Chomper, what are you-?" then Littlefoot "realized" and smiled. "I understand what you're saying."
"You do!?"
"Yep, and it was a sweet way to say it. You must have realized how happy you are with you parents and want to stay here again but want us to be with you too, right? Chomper, you're one of my best buddies and I will be with you whenever I can. But I'm all my grandparents have and they need me, so I'll visit you here, but I have to go back to them tonight."
Chomper wanted to tell Littlefoot right there, but, he was afraid to after what he said. He wasn't afraid of Littlefoot, just how Littlefoot would feel. He glanced at Rita who didn't know what to say either. Then he suddenly remembered something he used to do on the island back before he moved into the Great Valley with Ruby. He was sure it would work for his friends. Since he had a plan and he felt that there was nothing to worry about, he decided that there was nothing that needed to be said. He wanted everyone to keep enjoying themselves as the bright circle was still high in the sky. "It means a lot to hear you say that," was all he said. "Let's play some games!" he called as the eight of them thought of what to play, with Rita wondering what in the world Chomper could be thinking. She would have to ask him later.
As for Chomper's plan, it was a great idea, but unfortunately, Littlefoot and his friends already tried it before with extremely unpleasant results. Whether it would work now or not, it would be very difficult to encourage the others to make such an attempt again...

What Littlefoot, Cera, Petrie, Ducky, Spike, and Ruby didn't know was that in the addition to lack of Elsie, was that mean swimming sharpteeth were all over the waters now, and around this time of year, the waves were always rough-and the current always would push a log back to the island.
"Let's play Toss the Seed!" Chomper smiled, picking up a pine cone (or whatever they used for this.) Littlefoot nodded, "Yeah, those can be our goals," he smile,d pointing to some crossed-shaped trees.

X-looking tree formations must be very common on Sharptooth Island since this was the second one the gang has found in less than one day. Now comes the fun part: picking teams.
"I'm gonna be a team captain for sure. I'm the best at it," Cera bragged.
No one was going to start a fight by arguing with Cera on Chomper's Star Day, so Littlefoot said, "I don't mind," and everyone said the same in one way or another.
"Uh, it IS Chomper's day, so he should be the other captain," Rita declared, and everyone agreed that she couldn't be more right, and Chomper accepted his nomination.
Chomper was going to let Cera go first, but other than Cera, nobody would let that happen.
"Rita!" Chomper called. Of course, everyone saw THAT coming.
"Spike! I get the strongest one!" Cera remarked.
"Littlefoot," he said, smiling at his favorite longneck.
"I get the only flyer!" she called proudly, as Petrie flew over.
"Come on Ducky," he called to Ducky. Ruby was surprised to be picked last, but she was a little hurt wondering why Chomper didn't end up picking her. Honestly, Chomper wanted Ruby more than Ducky, but he knew it would be unfair if the two smallest were in the same group. "Games aren't as fun with such uneven teams," he had thought. As the groups got together to get starting, Chomper's choices were really bothering Ruby, so she had a little trouble focusing as much on playing at first. "Let's get started!" Cera called.

Yet in the back of Chomper's mind, he wondered how his friends would react when they found out about how getting off the island was possible.
"We get the seed first! Cera grinned, and Chomper and his team obliged.
Ruby had begun to understand why Chomper picked Ducky over her, and she didn't mind. In fact, when Chomper had "Asked" if his friends wanted to stay on Sharptooth Island with him, Ruby actually wouldn't mind staying here, and she would tell Chomper that later.
Cera began charging towards one of the goals, but Littlefoot swiftly jumped in front of her and swiped the pine cone. "Hey," laughed Cera. "Me get it," Petrie grinned, flying after Littlefoot.
Meanwhile, the adults were watching the kids play. Well, most of the adults. Screech and Thud were sound asleep. "Just listen to them snore," commented Dein.

"'ZZZZZ! ZZZZZ! ZZZZZ!" mocked Redclaw. "I swear, if they get any louder, things may feel like an earthshake around here!"

After a great day of playing together, the Bright Circle was nearing it's time to go down. "Well Chomper, I guess we'll see you some time soon hopefully," Littlefoot smiled. Chomper was about to say something when Ruby came up.
"You know Chomper, sinxce my family doesn't live in the Great Valley....I guess I'll live here," the fast runner said. Chomper smiled. "You will?" he asked. Rita came up "And you know I'll always stay with you Chomper," the girl sharptooth smiled.
Chomper was happy that one of his friends did want to stay on the island with him, but he knew something they didn't.
"I guess this is kind of goodbye for me too," Ruby said. Cera looked surprised. "You want to live here Ruby?" the threehorn asked surprised. "Yeah, i do. I made a promise to Chomper's parents anyway, and besides, my family doesn't live in the Great Valley."
"We will miss you Ruby, we will, we will," Ducky said. There was a big group hug.
But when everyone got back to where the landbridge was supposed to be.......

"But I'm sure it was over here," Littlefoot said.
"You just led us the wrong way!" Cera replied.
"No, Littlefoot is right. This is where that land path used to be," Chomper spoke up.
"What!?" they all cried.
"But don't worry. I have a plan," Chomper said proudly.
"You mean that you knew it was gone and didn't tell us?" Cera asked angrily.
"There was no need to worry you guys since I have it figured out. Just log ride to the other side. I do it all the time."
Everyone gasped, remembering what happened the last time they tried that.
"You mean, you have log rideded to the other side?" Ducky asked.
"Not to the other side. I just meant that I log ride in general all the time, but not all the way across. But it's really easy. I go a little ways from shore then head back. No problem."
"There is a problem if you go out far enough! There are some swimming sharpteeth out there that aren't as nice as the others here," Cera informed him.
"What!?" he cried. He asked his mother about that since she had come to see them off.
"Not just a few right now. Lately, the water has been very rough and I see more sharptooth swimmers out there than usual," Terri replied.
Everyone was in shock after the translation. "Does anyone know where Elsie is?" Littlefoot asked hopefully.
"She's far away right now," Chomper said quietly.
"So, we're stuck here?" Cera asked in disbelief.
"We can always wait for a new land path to form," Chomper suggested. (This is common for places like this. The internet said how land bridges form and for this time period it is even more likely.)
"How can that happen?" Cera demanded.
"You didn't know?" Chomper asked surprised. "The land path you used the first time was destroyed, remember? This is actually the fourth one to show up somewhere on this island since you left."
"Phew," Littlefoot said, relieved. "How long do they normally take?" he asked.
"There is no normality for this. They could show up at any time. Three days apart or three hundred. There is no way to tell," Terri roared to Chomper after he had roared Littlefoot's question to her. Chomper then translated back for the others. There was a deadly silence. "We could be here the rest of our lives!" Cera screamed.
"Don't worry, Cera. New ones always show up and they can be fairly close together. Elsie told me that she will come back to visit soon anyway, so even if a land path takes awhile, you can count on her," Chomper told them.
They started to relax until Littlefoot exclaimed, "Our families won't know what happened to us and will be worried sick!"
Chomper asked his mom who smiled. "No worries there, kids. I know a flyer here who will be happy to deliver a message to the Great Valley, as long as they don't run him off since he's a sharptooth. But I suppose he could just yell at them from above," Terri replied.
Chomper told the others who were even more relaxed. "But we not suppose to be here! Grown-ups kill us when we get back!" Petrie whined.
Cera had an idea. She described Ecco, who was covering for them, and said to have the flyer find and tell only him. "He is so clever with words he can help them relax."
"You want Ecco to lie to our families?" Littlefoot asked, appalled.
Cera smiled. "You know Ecco. He can be honest and hide the truth at the same time. He can stall for us."
"I don't know..." Littlefoot trailed off.
"If your grandparents hear that you are stuck on an island full of sharpteeth, they'll die from shock. This will be your way to protect them," Cera answered cleverly.
"When you put it like that... Okay. Do it," Littlefoot agreed.
Chomper translated and Terri nodded. "Since you will all be here at the very least tonight, and since we still have some daylight left, I know the perfect thing to do to make you all relax and forget about this for now. I think you'll enjoy it," She replied with a smile, then added, "If you are going to stay though, some of you should help clean up the mess." When Chomper told them, they had no idea what she had in mind, but they were stuck here and they might as well enjoy that last bit of Chomper's Star Day, even if some of them had to do a few chores. So they nodded and went back with Terri to do this "relaxing" thing, whatever it was.
Flashback to a bit before Rita went to where the land bridge was to hear how Chomper proposed to get them across:
"How did you like today?" Chomper asked Rita.
"Being with you and your family and friends all day on your Star Day turned out to be the best day ever for me," she replied with a deep smile.
Chomper smiled too, more happy from her words than she could have imagined. "Thank you, star," he whispered.
"That's right!" Rita exclaimed, remembering. "Your wish must have come true, right? Now will you tell me what it was?"
"I wished- that you would have as good a time today as I would. And after what you said, I know it came true."
Rita had never been more touched in her life. She started crying again in front of Chomper but wasn't embarrased this time. These were tears from her heart being touched warmly by the one she loved. She couldn't be ashamed of tears from that. She embraced Chomper, who held her in his arms, and they were now closer than they had ever had been.

Chomper was told his mom's idea, then he translated. "She suggested we could play charades," Chomper commented. The gang look intrigued, they had played this game before. "She said it would leafeaters vs. sharpteeth," Chomper went on. "If you guys win, you don't have to clean up the mess you made with all the food I brought."
"Hey! We weren't messy!" Cera said, than all the kids started to laugh. ""And if we lose, we have to clean up our mess," Rita added. "But she adds if you refuse to play, you can't get out of cleaning duty."
"That sound fair," said Petrie. Cera let out a confident smirk. "Ha! Me and my dad played this all the time in the GV, we'll win for sure!" Chomper translated Cera's confidence to his mother and father. Dein, who was standing by his mate, came up with a little plan, specifically for Cera.
"Dad says want to make another wager?" Chomper translated to Cera. "Sure, tell me," Cera replied. "Dad says since you're so confident you'll win, that if you guys lose, Cera has to help the sharpteeth clean up the mess from their food." Litllefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike look slightly grossed out by Cera never imained the possibililty of her losing. "Tell him it's a deal!" she smirked

Dein smiled as his challenge was readily accepted. He smiled all the more at how funny it would look to see a leaf eater clean up a sharptooth's leftovers.
All the leaf eaters got on one side and the meat eaters did the same.
It was Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, and Ruby versus Chomper, Rita, Dein, Redclaw, Terri, Screech, and Thud. Six against seven, although Screech and Thud together made up about one anyway.
"So who goes first?" Cera asked, loudly.
"It is still Chomper's Star Day, "Ducky replied, "It is. It is. He should definately begin, yep, yep, yep!"
"Well, as long as nobody else wants-"
Littlefoot stopped him. "Everyone here really wants you to start things off," Littlefoot said, smiling. "Chomper just tries too hard to be polite. But that's what makes him so special," he thought to himself, still smiling.
Looking at Littlefoot, Cera asked, "What's so funny?" not realizing what he was thinking.
Littlefoot snapped back into reality from her voice, looked up at her, and said, "Huh?" since he didn't hear her question, just the noise.
"Never mind."
"All right!" Chomper announced to both groups. "Let's get started then!"

Eventually, a few a few moments to think about what to, Chomper came up with an idea. He went in front of the rest of the meat eaters and began his pentomine.
He was acting out relaxing in a mud pool, which he did by sitting down and moving his arms like he was relaxed. "Um...swimming!" Rita guessed. Chomper nodded no. Soon, Redclaw figured it out. "That's right uncle!" Chomper smiled.
The game went on, and the Bright Circle was eventually almost down. Cera would be the last player to go for the day, and this would decided the winner. If her team couldn't guess, they lost. She was acting out pushing a log, but her team couldn't figure out the log part.
"Come on, I know you guys can figure it out" Cera thought nervously, but then Terri looked out. The Bright Circle had went down! "I guess he sharpteeth win then," Littlefoot smiled

Furious that they had lost, Cera marched right up to them. "How could you not figure it out? It was so easy!" she yelled at them.

Getting mad at them, she suddenly realized, wouldn't help her situation. Before the others could respond to her, she said, "Never mind. Just forget it," and she turned around.
Feeling foolish for accepting the wager, but knowing she had to fulfill it, she walked up do Dein for instructions. He looked down at her and roared softly. Chomper ran over and replied, "He says you should go help pick up the unedible pieces of the colored danglers."
Now Cera was angry. "He wants me to help clean up our food and his too!?"
"No," Chomper replied. "He says you only need to help with your guys' mess."
"What about the-"
Chomper smiled. "My dad said he made that wager because he thought it would look funny to see a leaf eater cleaning up a leaf eater. But when he thought of it the other way around, he realized that it wouldn't be funny at all, but actually a very miserable experience for someone your age. So he said you don't have to help him anymore."
Dein looked down at Cera who glanced back up. Dein actually felt bad for what he had suggested earlier and it showed. He then turned around, and began to march toward his family to help them clean up the big longneck mess.

"Hey, that good thing for Cera," Petrie smiled, cleaning up the danglers. Cera had forgiven Chomper's father, and vice-versa.
One tiny problem was something Terri just remembered, "The flying sharptooth I told you about is gone.." she began to say, and when Chomper translated, everyone gasped, but Terri quickly concluded, "But I know he'll be back in two days, so you're stuck here at least that long I'm afraid," Terri said

In two days, their parents will be in a frenzie! They hoped Ecco was doing all right...

"Where are they!?" Cera's Dad bellowed to Ecco.
"They, uh, needed to enjoy more quality time together. Chomper is definately getting older and they felt that they should all be with him for a while to celebrate that. They were planning on one day originally, but they're going to do it a bit longer now. They aren't in any danger with big, strong grownups around, right? So don't worry, and when I hear from them, I'll tell you what they're up to," Ecco explained, truthfully.
"WHY WON'T WE HEAR FROM THEM!?" Cera's dad yelled, loudly and fiercely.
"That is why," Ecco answered.
Cera's dad gave Ecco a nasty look.

Just then, it happened. Topsy's anger towards Ecco was disrupted when a weird buzzing sound could be heard. "Oh no...." said Grandpa Longneck who was nearby.
"SWARMING LEAF GOBBLERS!" The plants and leaves of the valley never stood a chance....

"So where do you guys want to sleep?" Chomper asked, getting a little sleepy.
Kole, the green sharptooth, was still dead.

Looking at Chomper, Rita replied, "With you!"
Chomper laughed. "I knew where YOU wanted to sleep, Rita," he said with a huge grin. "But as for the rest of you, you're still welcome to sleep with us, if you don't mind the 'sky water'," he said, looking at Cera who scowled at him, then continued, "If not, there is always the Little Cavern. You can probably guess it isn't very big, but it will easily hold all of you with some room left, is warmer than being outside, completely dry, has a soft, comfortable ground, and it still has a beautiful view of the sky. With all the stars, the view is the best at night. It won't bother any of us if you six want to spend time together, so please, do what you want to do."
They thought for minute. "I still want to stay with you, staying with you is what I want," Ruby replied smiling.
"We do t-" Cera cut Littlefoot off. "Could you excuse us a moment?" nudging Littlefoot away. "I know the sharpteeth here are nice and all, and I do like them, but we do need time to ourselves once in a while," she explained. "Let's go to this "Little Cavern" tonight."
"Fine," Littlefoot sighed. "I'll tell Chomper we want to try his new place."

Maybe 25 seconds later, Littlefoot caught up to Chomper. "I guess we want to check out this "Little Cavern," the longneck smiled to the sharptooth. "I'll show you where it is," Chomper replied.
Chomper led the way for Petrie, Cera, Littlefoot, Spike, and Ducky to the Little Cavern. When they got thier, it matched Chomper's descritption, but it was still big enough for the Five of them. "It nice," Petrie commented.

Meanwhile, all the green food in the valley was gone

"Nevermind." Grandpa Longneck said, "We can just find another place to eat and drink and be merry." And Grandma Longneck replied, "And be scary!"

Opening his loud mouth, Topsy complained angrily, "How can you be so happy about this happening, longnecks?"
"Please Mr. Three Horn, we aren't "happy" about this. We are just trying to remain positive in this crisis," Grandpa longneck explained.
"There is nothing to be positive about!" he yelled. "Our home has been cleaned out again. There is nothing we can do." And many others residents began mumbling their agreement.
The old longneck smiled inside from how Mr. Three Horn's words had just trapped him, but he kept a serious expression on the outside and said, "Please everyone! As Mr. Three Horn has just mentioned, our valley has been set back again. So since this has happened once before, we shall simply do as last time and go back to the lush field by the Big Water which can easily keep us sustained," Grandpa Longneck explained. Now everyone, including Mr. Three Horn, had to agree, and they decided to get ready and leave soon.
Ecco heard it all and had a plan.
A little over two hours later, after they had been searching and calling for the children, and still not finding them, they had begun looking for Ecco. Ecco had hid from their sight for a while after their departure plans, because his plan would only work if he was not questioned until a while afterward. Now ready, he casually walked by and was soon stopped by Littlefoot's grandfather and grandmother both. "Please tell me you know where are they are now," he asked hopefully.
"Or course. It hasn't been THAT long since I saw them last."
"Wonderful," the grandparents thought, relieved. "Where are they now? We need to get going," Grandma Longneck asked.
"They wanted to have an adventure again," he said, sighing loudly, then continued, "So they decided to leave a while ago, heading toward the Big Water on their own. They will meet up with you somewhere around there eventually, I'm sure," Ecco said cooly, once again speaking the truth but hiding the meaning.
"Why didn't they let us know?" they asked, very worried about them.
"There was no need for them to with me around to tell you. It just took me a little while to say, that's all," Ecco replied.
"Well, getting upset won't make things any better. Let's tell the others about this and head out to meet the children," Grandpa Longneck said. They told the others who were scared, except Topsy, who was furious, especially at Ecco, and they all set out for the haven by the Big Water, with Ecco following close by.
"They are going to be paying me back for days now, after we meet up. This much hidden talking has made my head hurt," Ecco said sorely.

Presently, on the island, everyone was sleeping peacefully. Ruby was avoiding sleeping right by Terri's jaw to avoid the....er, sky water. A thought going through Chomper's head was "I wonder how long my friends will be here"
The next morning, Petrie was the first of the leafeaters to wake up. Littlefoot and the rest soon followed. "Looks like we'll be here all day," Littlefoot smiled, "we should see what Chomper, Ruby, and Rita want to do,"
"Yup yup yup," added Ducky

Questioning the young sharpteeth and fast runner had interesting results, although it was actually Ruby who came up with the idea. Everyone knew how many adventures the gang of five had been on, and Ruby wanted to hear about them, but made it into a game she called "The Gang of Five Remebering Game".
"Sound fun! How you play?" Petrie asked, ceriously.
"Well, since most fo your adventures happened with just the five of you, before Chomper and I met up with you in the Great Valley, as the name implies, this game is just for the five of you, but I'll make sure it's played correctly, and the young sharpteeth should enjoy listening to this very much, very much they should enjoy listening," she said, smiling at the two sitting right beside each other. "Just think of a time on one adventure you had that at least one of your other friends was there to see. You can give hints with just your words and no body movement until he or she can figure out what event you're talking about. It is like the opposite of last night, last night is the opposite of this. No points or winners, this is just something fun to pass the time, since I don't have any prizes anyway. Who understands?" Everyone nodded right away. "Who wants to play?" Almost every head nodded right away, but eventually, Cera's did too. To keep things peaceful, she asked, "Cera, why don't you start?"

Right then and there, Cera went first. "Let's se....bad luck, big longneck, stone...."
"That's when we first met Doc!" Ducky guessed. "That's right," Cera grinned.
Ducky mentioned the events of Part III
Littlefoot gave clues about the events of IX,
Petrie gave clues about the events of VII, and everyone figured them out.
It was a fun morning, but then, all 8 of the kids' bellies rumbled at the same time. "Let's find breakfast," they all (Except Spike) said

Starting to separate, which was typical now when the sharpteeth wanted to eat, Chomper and Rita went their own way to get food. They held claws as they walked deeper into the island, which was no trouble since Chomper knew it so well.
Rita called, "I'll race you to that rock!" letting go of him and pointing to a large boulder that wasn't too far away.
"Rita, we'd better not do that here. There are ho-" Chomper tried to say, but Rita already took off.
"Wait!" he called, realizing she could get hurt very easily in this area. He took off after her so she wouldn't fall. But he focused completely on her, and, "Oomph!" he uttered, falling into a hole.
Rita turned around and stopped. "Chomper, where did you go?" she asked, a bit worried.
"Owww." Was all she heard. She ran back and saw him in small hole, smaller than he was! "Very funny Chomper. You can't get stuck in a hole you can stand over."
"It hurts," was all the response she got as she noticed Chomper rubbing his leg. It wasn't "very funny" anymore. "Are you okay!? she asked in a panic.
"I'm perfectly fine," he replied, smiling weakly. "But you should ask my leg though. Someting seems to be bothering it," he joked, but then grimaced from pain.
"Can you move? Are you bleeding? Can you get back?" she asked in a frenzie, not getting that Chomper had just tried to calm her down.
"Just follow our trail. You can get back just fine," he replied, pointed the way they came.
Rita got very angry. "How dare you think I would ever leave you here all alone!"
"But Rita, just go and get-"
He was cut off by Rita crouching right beside him. "Uh, what are you doing?" he asked.
"Get on my shoulders. I'm strong. We'll go back together," she said as if he didn't have a choice.
"I can't have you-"
"do that for you? Chomper, trying to make everyone happy doesn't always mean that you have to make everything easier for them. If you want me to be happy now, then you'll get on my shoulders and we'll go back. So what are you going to do?" Rita really wasn't fierce like this. Girls can be lot more forceful to a boy she cares for when he needs it, no matter how easy going she is. Chomper felt more pain in his swollen leg. He looked up at Rita who offered him her claw.

Terri wondered where her son and Rita were.
Chomper realized Rita was right. With a little help, Chomper was put on Rita's shoulders. "Let's head back," she smiled, going at a steady pace. But the thought of breakfast was still on their mind. Eventually, before they got back, they found a swimmer (around Hyp's age) sleeping on the ground. "I'll get this for you," Rita said, gently setting Chomper on the ground to avoid applying pressure to the leg.
Rita pounced on the swimmer and slashed at it's throat, finishing it off. Rita held it her mouth as she took Chomper back.
"Son, what happened?!" Dein asked shocked when they showed up

"Uhhh..." Rita began, looking down.
"I was running in the holey field and not watching where I was stepping. I fell in a hole and hurt my leg, but Rita was there to bring me back," he said, smiling at her.
Rita's mouth dropped open. She made the mistake, not Chomper, but Chomper was somehow able to be honest and yet make it sound like it was his fault. She wasn't going to let Chomper take the blame for her! "That isn't the whole story," Rita said, looking at Dein. Chomper shot her a look.
"Oh? What else happened?" he asked.
"Well, I tried to-"
"Get me to let her carry me." Chomper quickly interjected, with Rita now throwing him a look. "We would have been back sooner but I didn't want to burden her with my weight. But she kept insisting that she won't leave me there until I finally agreed and here we are," Chomper said, looking at his father, not Rita.
Rita shook her head and thought, "He is still isn't lying, but he's making it sound like I'm a hero when Chomper wouldn't even be in this mess if not for me." She paused, then smiled, "He just goes too far for me, but that just makes me love him more."
Both young sharpteeth had proven today just how far each of them would go for the other. They knew of their love, but still didn't fully understand what had come over them. They were still young, so they hadn't realized yet how much love pushes your heart to be stronger for the one treasured inside of it.
"Just sprained," Dein said, looking at his son's leg. "You'll have to stay off of it for the rest of the day so it'll heal right," he said, wrapping it snuggly with some large leaves.
"The rest of the day?" Chomper whined.
"It's payback time for what Chomper told his dad about me," Rita thought, although she wasn't actually thinking those words in the negative way they normally were. "You heard your dad. I guess you leave me no choice, Chomper," Rita said, smiling at him.
"Huh?" he asked.
"It looks like your ride today isn't over yet!," as she crouched beside Chomper again, who willing abliged her now. As they walked off, Dein watched and thought to himself, "She's perfect for him."
Maybe it won't be too long after all before they finally understand what love really does to you.
Although not romantic, the gang of six was also having a time of their own...

Very much so, the 6 leafeaters were playing a game of "Collect the Berries" (Capture the flag.) "Me team going to win," Petrie grinned, flying towards the stinky place, where his, Littlefoot, and Ruby's goal was. "Not yet Petrie," Cera grinned, trying to jump up and slow him down, but missed.
Then, Chomper and Rita showed up, and everyone looked surprised

"When did you decide to make your girlfreind walk for you?" Cera teased.
"He didn't 'make' me do anything," Rita retorted. "He fell because he tried to help me and got hurt. This was the least I could do for him." Everyone finally noticed the leaves around Chomper's leg. Liitlefoot ran up to them and asked Chomper, "Does it still hurt?" Chomper looked at his friend and had absolutely no idea how he should answer him. Yes, it still hurt pretty badly. So he had three options:
1. Say "yes" to be completely honest with Littlefoot then he would worry about
Chomper all day.
2. Say "I can handle it" which isn't a lie but sidesteps the question completely and
would make Littlefoot suspicious.
3. Lie, and say "no" just because he cares about Littlefoot and knows that he won't
be able enjoy himself at all knowing Chomper is hurting.
What would he say? Littlefoot was waiting for him to answer.

Xe, a gaseous element, was being emitted from some plants on the island. Perhaps that is why swarming leaf gobblers never came to the island.
"Yes, but I can handle it. Just gotta not do anything rough," Chomper replied. Littlefoot looked worried for his friend, as he cared for Chomper.
"I could help you if you want, I don't what would be more comfortable, having Rita walk for you, as Cera put it, or having me walk for you. The choice is yours," Littlefoot smiled to his sharptooth friend

"Yes!" Chomper thought. Rita was obviously getting worn out, Littlefoot is stronger and has carried a lot before, and his large back would be so much comfortable then sitting on her shoulders all day, although he still really appreciated her doing it. Chomper decided the last two reasons wouldn't make Rita feel so good, so he said the first one, "Thank you, Littlefoot! Rita was really nice to carry me all this time but she must be getting tired by now."
"I am not," Rita huffed. Everyone looked at her. "Fine, so I'm a little out of breath. Littlefoot carrying you for a bit will be fine, but once I get my second wind, you can come back to me."
Chomper smiled warmly. She was taking his injury as her fault so badly that she didn't want anyone else to worry about making her mistake any better.
"Thanks, Rita," Chomper said, trying to step off of her before she even lowered herself. But his pain made him lose his balance. He started to fall down, "Whoa!" but Littlefoot came right up behind Chomper and he landed right on Littlefoot's soft back. "Littlefoot, you saved me!"
"You're my good buddy, Chomper. I will always try to be there for you," he answered back with a big smile. Then Chomper hugged Littlefoot's neck.

"Zzz...." snored Thud, the fast biter brothers were deep sleepers.
"Thanks Littlefoot," Chomper smiled

After seeing how Chomper couldn't move around to play like the others, he got a thought. "Hey, guys. Why don't we play something we don't have to move for?"
"Like what, Littlefoot?" Cera asked, understanding the question but still annoyed by it.
"Hey! How about Ruby's game? We don't have to move at all," he said, happily. Almost everyone agreed immidiately and Cera finally did too.
"Me got good one!" Petrie called, and others let him go ahead. "Who remember this? Cera no able to get food so Littlefoot have to give her some," smiling because he hoped nobody would remember back THAT far.
"What!? That never happened!" Cera roared.
"I remember that," Littlefoot and Ducky said, looking at each other. "C'mon Petrie. That was too easy. Did you expect me to forget something that I did?" Littlefoot asked Petrie, playfully.
Petrie put his wing on his forehead and said, "Me sorry."
"Now hold it! What's the big joke here? That never happened! I never had trouble getting food! What crazy thing are you thinking of?" Cera demanded.
Littlefoot, Ducky, and Spike glanced at Petrie, who said, "Sorry."
Cera didn't know that Littlefoot got her food before coming to the Great Valley. Littlefoot didn't want any credit for it so he didn't say anything to her. She always says how she can take of herself. She would be furious knowing she survived from someone else's help. What is he supposed to tell her now?

Boy, Littlefoot could see Cera was annoyed. "You know what guys, let'sjust look up at the sky and see if we could see shapes in the puffies,"
Cera calmed down. "Yeah, not a bad idea," she said calmly.
"That sounds fun!" smiled Chomper

"Chomper with no arms," Rita remarked.
"W-what do you mean by that?" Chomper asked her, nervously.
She laughed. "I was talking about what that sky puffy looked like," as she pointed to a sky puffy that looked like Chomper with no arms.
"Oh," he replied. "That one looks like Cera, only fatter," he said.
"What did you say?" Cera asked, honestly only hearing her name.
"Oh, I said that one looks kinda like you," he replied, pointing up.
"Oh yeah. You're right, it does," she said, as Chomper sighed, relieved.
After a while of lying on his back and looking up at the sky, Chomper eventually fell into a deep sleep. "Zzzzz."
"In the middle of the day?" Rita asked, worried.
"Do not worry about Chomper, Chomper should not be worried about," Ruby began to explain. "He's always so used to moving around, so now he's just sleepy from being still and so comfortable for this long."
The wind started to blow through the trees. Dark puffies that had formed farther away were being blown right over to the island. Another storm was being brewed. The kids noticed the sky starting to get dark and currently very small droplets of sky water began to fall.
"We'd better head back to the grownups where we'll be safe," Littlefoot called. "Rita, please put Chomper back on me," he asked her, since she was clutching him tightly.
"No! I said I would carry him next and I'm going to. It's my fault he's like this," Rita said, with strong emotion.
The sky water began to fall more heavily and the sky got even darker.
"Rita, there's no time to argue! This storm is getting really bad and I'm faster," he called over the noise.
"You don't know that," she retorted loudly to be heard.
Things were getting much worse.
Now Littlefoot had to yell. "If you care about him more than anything than you'd want what's best for him and I would be the best at getting him back. We're out of time now. Do you want him to get home as quickly as possible? Then put him back on me now and LET'S GO!"

Didn't take much time for Rita to agree, she wanted Chomper to be safe.
"Children, get back to us or a cave!" Terri roared to Chomper and Rita. "What she say?" asked Littlefoot. "we gotta go!" Replied Rita

Everyone turned and high-tailed it inland. The rain pelted the children as they struggled to see where they were going. Naturally, Littlefoot was guiding them. As he squinted further ahead, he could see what looked like a precipice.
"Everyone, yield left!" he barked.
Cera, who had Ducky hanging onto her napeshield for dear life, looked up and screamed as she tried to slow down and turn.
"Cera! Look out!" screamed Ducky, but it was too late.
Cera had no friction as the earth beneath her was all mud by that point. A horrible CRACK could be heard from her left foreleg as she twisted in the mud and over the edge. She and Ducky both screamed in terror as they tumbled, rolled, and finally crashed at the bottom. Ducky, who had fortunately managed to remained tucked behind Cera's napeshield while hanging on, looked up. The edge they had fallen off was not a precipice, but actually a ravine. As Ducky sighed in relief, she realized what happens to ravines when it storms harshly. The bottom of the ravine was muddy, and was starting to flood. Her attention turned to Cera. Cera, who had gotten her lights knocked out as a result of the fall, had just come back around but was disoriented. Ducky knew she had to act fast as she stepped out in front of Cera, who was still laying down.
"Cera! We must get out of here, yep yep yep! We will drown for sure if we do not! I will help you up, yes I will!"
Cera quickly came to her senses, and tried to get up without Ducky's help. Suddenly, a fierce stab of pain shot up her left frontleg. She screamed in pain as she fell back down.
"What is wrong, Cera?" Ducky asked in a woried manner.
"My leg, the joint...it hurts so bad," Cera whimpered as tears of pain started to flow.
Ducky glanced once more at their surroundings, then back at Cera.
"This is not good, no no no. There is no way I can carry you up there. Oh, it would be so nice if someone bigger and stronger would come along and..."
"Hey, guys! Cera! Ducky! Are you two okay?!"
Ducky cried out, knowing Littlefoot could not have located them at a better time. Cera was very relieved herself, but still worried how she would get out of there without dealing with any further pain.
"Cera is hurt, Littlefoot! She is, she is! She cannot walk!" Ducky replied.
"Can she at least stand?! We need to get you two out of there now!" barked Littlefoot. Based on his tone, Ducky could tell he was deeply worried about his best friend.
"I will try," grunted Cera as Ducky turned back to her. If the situation was not so grave, the two being covered in mud would have come across as comical. With Ducky's ongoing encouragement, it took Cera some time to stand all the way, and she appeared to be in more pain by that point. In the meantime, Ducky had found it necessary to climb back onto Cera, for the water was already at knee-level on Cera.
I can see this is not going to be easy, no no no, Ducky thought to herself.

Frantic to get the two girls to safety but still realizing Cera couldn't walk, Littlefoot was at a loss for what to do. The water was filling up quickly and was at Cera's neck now. But luckily, by now, Chomper had awoken and saw what was going on. He knew the best way to travel in water. There was downed log near the edge that wasn't rotten yet.
"Quick, Spike! Help me push this down to them!" Chomper called, as Spike came up and they both pushed it and it fell down to the three, almost hitting them.
"What are you doing!?" Cera yelled up to them.
"Trust me!" Chomper called. "Everyone get on the log and as the water fills up, the log will rise too. When you're on the same level as us, paddle over and we'll help you up. But hurry!"
Cera tried getting on the log but her pain made it difficult. Littlefoot came up behind her and nudged her on. He then got on himself as the log drifted toward the top. When they were on the highest level, Chomper called to them, "Great job guys! You did it!"
As Littlefoot paddled the log over to the others, he said, "No Chomper. You did!"
The rest of them helped them up and supported Cera to the Little Cavern. The storm raged on, but they were safe.
"Thank you for saving me, Chomper," Cera said. "I wouldn't have made it if not for you."
"There's no need to thank me. You're my friend. How could I do anything else?" and he wobbled over and sat beside her. The two of them smiled at each other.
Petrie whispered to Littlefoot, "Who gonna walk for Cera?"
"We don't need to walk to do things, Petrie. We're all good friends here. There is no limit to how we can spend our time together," Littlefoot replied.
And shortly later, the sky water began to subside, and eventually the dark sky puffies began to dissipate. And then the bright circle began to shine directly on the cave where the kids were. And they began to feel happy once again as they saw the biggest sky colors they had ever seen.
"It's so beautiful," Chomper commented.
Cera looked up too and said, "It sure is, Chomper," and with that, she turned and asked everyone, "Who's ready to play some games where you don't need to move?"
And with that, everyone laughed.

Gone in no more than a few seconds was the bad weather. Terri, Dein, Redclaw, Screech, and Thud came rushing up. "Are you all safe?!" Chomper's mother roared scared for the children.
"Yeah mom, we are," Chomper replied in sharptooth to his mother. "Thank goodness," Redcalw replied. He looked at his nephew. "For lunch, I caught a big flyer, and I heard those are your favorite," the mighty rex smiled down to Chomper.
"What he say?" asked PEtrie. "Oh...nothing," Chomper laughed in reply. "I'm happy we're all ok," Rita smiled

Having survived the massive storm, Littlefoot, Chomper, and all the others were safe. After such an ordeal, Littlefoot remembered who he was always with during bad weather and thought to himself, "Don't worry, Grandma and Grandpa. We'll see each other again. I just know it."

"I'm still worried," Grandpa Longneck said. "Did the children even remember the right way?"
"Oh dear," was all his mate could say.
"Oh, don't worry. Chomper lived near the Big Water for a long time. He definately knows how to get there," Ecco said, confidently.
"Hmph! What good is knowing how to get there? There are sharpteeth everywhere in the Mysterious Beyond!" Mr. Three Horn retorted, and everyone began whispering.
Ecco knew that Chomper's uncle was going to protect everyone. That's the problem. If the grownups find their kids trail, a large sharptooth trail would surely be close by and they'll think the worst. Ecco called, "I'll run ahead and see if I can find their pawprints!" Nobody objected to that. Their kids wouldn't be gone if Ecco had told them sooner. Now was his time to make ammends. He ran ahead for a while. Eventually, he did notice very large, deep pawprints, obviously from a full grown sharptooth. Then he was able to make out three sets of pawprints made by four leggers and two by twoleggers. "The others," he thought, knowing Petrie flies and Ducky rides Spike. Then he noticed something else. "Why do they have fast biters with them?" he wondered, puzzled, not knowing of Redclaw's underlings. All the prints went on for a while, very close together. "If the fast biters were going to attack them, they wouldn't have stayed with the others for so long, but instead would have made their move more quickly," he thought, understanding fast biter methods. "Perhaps they're friends of Reclaw? Oh, it doesn't matter. If they see their kids' prints, along with sharpteeth prints, they'll panic. What am I going to do about this one?" he thought, desparately for a while. Then he remembered how things looked toward the left of the way he came and he thought of a very tricky yet honest set of statements that just might work. Running back, he soon met up with the grownups with his report.
"I looked all around for their footprints. I never was the luckiest dinosaur, I guess. The ground is pretty rough up ahead. I would make a course change toward the left a little bit because it's much smoother that way. Then you won't have to worry about all the holes I saw," he explained, knowing everything he said was true.
"How thoughtful of you, Ecco," Grandpa Longneck remarked, not wanting to walk through holes. "Changing direction a little will take us a bit longer in getting there, but rough terrain would probably do so as well. Smooth ground would be easier on all of us. Alright Ecco, we'll veer more to the left."
"You're scared of a few smudges in our path? Just like a longneck to try the easiest way!" Cera's dad remarked.
"Is there a reason to do things the hardest way?" Littlefoot's grandfather asked.
Topsy felt blood rush to his face after hearing it that way. "I'm tough! I can do things anyway I want! I'll just go that way by myself if no one else can!" he yelled. Ecco cringed.
"Now, now Mr. Three Horn. We all know how tough you are so we need you around if the rest of us run into too much trouble," he said, very reasonably trying to keep everyone together.
"Hmph! If you need me so badly than fine! Next time I might not be there though so learn to toughen up yourselves!"
As long as they stayed as a group, the others were happy and didn't argue with him. They proceeded together, more towards the left now. Ecco sighed, relieved, although he did have a headache from doing all that. Hidden speaking of that level can really take its toll after a while. "You guys are now in my debt for a very, very long time now," he thought, painfully to himself.

In a short period of time, Topsy began to notice something. "I think our haven where we stayed the last time this happened is nearby."
"Yeah, I'm sure the kids are somewhere nearby," Ecco said in a truthful statement.
On the island, Chomper's stomach rumbled. "You caught a flyer uncle?" Chomper smiled in sharptooth. "We helped son," Terri grinned in reply.

Just then, Redclaw motioned for the sharpteeth to go have their lunch. Chomper got up.
"Uh, guys. I'm going to step out with my family for awhile, okay?"
"Okay, Chomper. See you later," replied Littlefoot, then looking at Cera. "How's your leg holding up?"
"It doesn't hurt as much. Thanks," she said, then smiled at Littlefoot. He smiled back. Just as things were becoming peaceful again, a loud shriek of terror startled everyone.
"AHHHHHHH!" shrieked a small green blur as it sped out of the cavern past the children. Petrie, who was further in the cavern as well, flew in pursuit. The Gang then realized who it was as Ducky came to a halt and let herself flop onto her back. She put her right hand over her heart as she wheezed.
"Me sorry Ducky!" squawked Petrie as he landed to the left of his best friend.
"What happened, Petrie?" Littlefoot asked out of concern as he quickly approached them. The others, even Cera, managed to surround Ducky and Petrie. Ducky had managed stop wheezing and instead gasped for air. She had no color to her.
"Me thought it funny to pull shadow prank on Ducky like Chomper do to eggstealers before. It not funny now," explained the little flyer as Ducky, who was now regaining her color, tried to sit up but was still too weak to do so. Petrie went over and helped her sit up.
"Me sorry me scare you, Ducky. Me no mean no harm," he choked, his right wing wrapped around Ducky.
"It is okay now, Petrie. I am okay, so you should not feel bad, no no no," she replied as she got up and embraced him. He embraced her back.
"Hey, I've got an idea. I mentioned before about playing a game where we don't have to move, right? Well, why don't we make shadow creatures on the cavern wall?" suggested Cera.
"Good idea, Cera. Let's do that. Only, let's not scare each other off this time," chuckled Littlefoot. Everyone cracked up as they returned to the cavern.

Kole, the green sharptooth was still dead.
"Can you believe it guys?" Ruby asked. "What?" asked Cera, her leg getting slightly better.
"Over the past few days, we've essentially befriended Redclaw, and in addition to Chomper and his family, we've also grown to like Rita, Screech, and Thud."
"Ime unsure about those fast biters," Petrie laughed, but he didn't have negative feelings towards them personally though

Later, after they had finished chatting about their accomplishments, they finally began the Shadow Game.
"Me go!" Petrie called, as he ran up to the cave wall. "What me?" he asked as started flapping his wings in the night circle's light. The shadow Petrie was portraying showed up on the wall- extremely well.
"Uh, is that shadow supposed to be a flyer?" Cera asked, unable to believe his shadow choice.
"Wow, you good at this game, Cera! How you guess?"
"Oh, I just got lucky," Cera replied sarcastically, annoyed at his simplicity.
"Guess what I am!" Littlefoot exclaimed. He started whipping his tail around and standing with perfect posture while standing further back. His shadow got much bigger and they could see the tail swishing wildly.
"A giant sharptooth?" Petrie asked.
"Sharpteeth can't move their tails like that, Petrie," Rita responded.
"I remember who can!" Comper yelled, remembering his encounter in the Great Valley. "It's Doc!"
"You're right, Chomper! Now it's your turn."
After playing for a while, Terri came up and said that it will be sleep time soon, so everyone start to get ready. Chomper translated for the leaf eaters.
"Don't you ever get tired of translating back and forth every day?" Cera asked him.
"I don't mind."
"But isn't it getting old?"
Littlefoot stepped up. "What are you getting at Cera?"
"Wouldn't it just be easier if we just learned sharptooth ourselves?" Cera asked.
"How we learn?"
"Duh! Chomper of course."
"But I've never taught a flat tooth to speak sharptooth!" Chomper explained.
"You must have been the one to teach Rita our language, right?" Cera asked him.
"That's true... But sharptooth is different. Flat teeth speak with a bunch of different sounds. With sharptooth, you need to know how to roar correctly, with the occasional growl or click. But if you guys really want to take the time to learn, I'll try to to teach you guys."
"I'll help you!" Rita joined in with a smile.
"We'd love to learn how! Well, except maybe Spike," Littlefoot said, looking at him who simply shook his head in response.
"Learning sharptooth may be hard, hard it may be to learn, but considering how helpful it will be to us- and poor Chomper- I'm in too!' Ruby declared.
Everyone, except Spike this time, nodded in agreement.
"It's settled then," Chomper said. "Tomorrow, let's all meet here at the Little Cavern and Rita and I will begin your first lesson of learning sharptooth."
There were some cheers, then Chomper said, "Well Rita, we'd better get back and get some sleep. We start our teaching job first thing in the morning!"
Spike made a noise. "Sorry Spike," Chomper said, knowing what he meant. "We'll start our teaching job tomorrow morning- right after we eat!" Spike smiled.
"With the two of us together, how hard can this be?" Rita asked.
With that, the two sharpteeth left, holding claws, and the six leaf eaters lied down to get some sleep. (Although Littlefoot had to turn around a few times before doing so.) And they all slept soundly until morning.

Morning was coming soon. Chomper and Rita were sleeping by Chomper's parents, and it was a peaceful night.
Meanwhile, Littlefoot, thinking about what they were going to learn tomorrow, was having a funny dream: He, Cera, Ruby, Petrie, Ducky, Spike, and everyone they knew were sharpteeth! Littlefoot was Chomper's type, Ruby and Cera were fast biters, Ducky was a Mo type, Petrie was a flying sharptooth, and Spike was a belly dragger! It was a funny dream.
As the Bright Circle arose over Sharptooth Island, Chomper and Rita came to Little Cavern. "Morning everyone," Chomper smiled, "Everyone have good sleep stories last night?"

Not one of them responded because every one of them was still asleep. Spike was to be expected because he likes to sleep in, but the fact that everyone was still snoring away annoyed Chomper. He had to think of someway to wake them and so that their lesson could get started.

Opening his mouth, a loud roar was soon heard. Everyone awoke with a start.
"What was that for, Chomper?" Cera demanded.
"You scare us!" Petrie exclaimed.
"Why did you do that to us?" Ducky wanted to know.
"Did you guys forget about last night?" Chomper asked them. "That's why I came here."
"What do you mean, Chomper?" asked Littlefoot.
“Well, if you guys knew how to speak sharptooth, you would’ve known that all I said was, 'It's time to wake up, guys'!" Chomper said with a smile. "Now, let's get started, shall we?"
"But how much we get to learn?" Petrie asked, doubtfully.
“Don’t worry. I mean, I managed to learn how to speak flattooth after only a day with you guys, remember? So teaching you how to speak sharptooth can’t be too hard either,” Chomper reasoned with them.
“So where should we start?” Littlefoot asked, eagerly.
“Let’s start off with a simple phrase like 'help me',” Chomper replied. “Now pay attention everyone,” he instructed. “Listen carefully.” Chomper then proceeded, as slow as he could, to say “Help me” in sharptooth. Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Ruby listened hard. “You guys try now,” Chomper instructed.
Ruby went first, but it was hard for a fast runner to imitate roars. On her first attempt, it sounded like she was doing a "joke" roar instead of a real one.
“You just said 'happy',” Chomper explained.
“Hey, this is hard, hard this is!” Ruby replied, although not angry at Chomper at all. She just wanted to explain her mistake.

Pretty soon, maybe about 2 hours or so, the leafeaters were getting a hang of it.
Littlefoot, Ruby, and Petrie were doing a pretty good job, learning around 10 sentences each. "That's good you guys!" Chomper smiled.
"Thanks," Littlefoot replied, in sharptooth.
Chomper and Rita saw that Ducky and Cera were having a tough time. "Let's take a break," he smiled. "That would be nice, yup yup yup," replied Ducky.
"So, have any good sleep stories last night?" Chomper asked out of curiosity

Questions like that were usually fun to answer for Littlefoot, but he felt awkward about his recent sleep story. He looked up at Chomper's smile, "I wish he hadn't done that this time," Littlefoot thought to himself, knowing that he couldn't resist Chomper smiling at him. "Well, I had one," Littlefoot began.
"Was it a good one?" Chomper asked him, eagerly.
"I don't know..."
"What do you mean, Littlefoot? Just spit it out!" Cera demanded.
'Well, something happened to us-"
"Something bad?" Petrie asked.
"Quit interrupting and let him explain!" Cera said, annoyed.
"Well, I got to see how our lives would be like if we and all of our families were sharpteeth." Everyone gasped, and he continued. "We were different kinds, like regular, fast biter, flyer, swimmer, even belly dragger. It was fun and all, having two legs, and a slimmer body. But the Sharptooth that killed my mother was the leader there. A buncha other stuff happened, but the weirdest thing was how Chomper and Ruby were in love the whole time and would kiss and stuff." He paused, realizing he probably shouldn't have said that with Rita and Ruby right there. He thought, "Uh oh..." as he waited for reactions.

Rita looked shocked, as well as Chomper, but then Chomper had a theory. "I think I know why that was in your sleep story Littlefoot," he commented. "You probably remembered how I had a teeny crush on Ruby a while ago, but then we realized it couldn't work out when we got older."
"Me never knew that," commented Petrie.
Rita didn't look mad at Chomper or Ruby, just confused. "And then, it was shortly after that that I realized I loved Rita," Chomper finished with a smile. The friends' moods soon improved.
"Hope I didn't make you mad or anything," the longneck said to Rita. "Don't worry about it," she replied, kissing Chomper on the lips. Chomper blushed deeply. "I think we should continue the sharpteeth language lesson," Chomper said.
"Agreed," all the leafeaters replied.

Suddenly, Petrie notice something. "Hey, where Ducky go?" He asked. Everyone else looked around the area but couldn't find her.
Ducky had left the group upon hearing that Chomper and Ruby having a relationship wouldn't work out. It made her think about her own relationship with a certain flyer. The little swimmer had been head over heels for Petrie since they met. She wasn't afraid to show it either. Especially with how often she found herself kissing him.
Why did she love him? He was funny for one. Another was that he was smart. Anyone who said he was dumb because of his bad grammar was sadly mistakened. She had so many reasons to love him.
At this point though, she wondered that if Chomper and Ruby couldn't be together, what would it say about her and Petrie?

The gang soon caught up with Ducky. "What wrong, Ducky?" Petrie asked.
"huh?" asked Ducky, not noticing her friends approach her. "Oh, nothing is rong, don't worry, don't worry," replied Ducky. Ducky then thought more deeply about this.
Chomper and Ruby knew it wouldn't work out because they were two different types of dinos (meat and leaf-eater respectively), but she and Petrie were both flatteteh, so maybe..
"Let's go have some fun!" smiled Rita

Screech and Thud were nearby, just walking around.
"Let's play tag!" Cera called. "That sounds good!" everyone called back. "Ruby, you and me will be it," the threehorn said. "Ok," replied Ruby. They began chasing after Spike, Chomper, and Littlefoot. Ducky, Rita, and Petrie went in different directions.
Rita noticed Ducky had an odd look on her face, as Petrie flew ahead. "Something wrong Ducky?" the girl rex asked. Ducky stayed silence for a second, but then she decided to tell Rita what she was feeling.
"I got confused when Chomper said how he used to think Ruby was cute, I did, I did," the swimmer said. "What do you mean?" Rita asked. "Well, I kind like Petrie, I do, I do," she admitted. Rita got the context of what Ducky was saying.
"So, you're worried that because you and Petrie are different species, love couldn't work out?" asked Rita. "Yup yup yup," Ducky replied quietly. "Don't worry, Chomper and Ruby realized a crush wouldn't work because they'd eventually have to go their seperate ways. But you and Petrie live in the same place, I'm sure that could work," she comforted.
"Thank you Rita," Ducky smiled. Just then, Chomper came by. "Tagged ya!" he laughed, kissing Rita. "Cera managed to tag me," he explained with a smile. Rita sniffed the air. "Petrie's that way, maybe just give him a little kiss and hug and tell him how you feel," she quickly whispered. Ducky nodded, she had a tendency to jump into things like this.
"Can't catch me"! Chomper called to Rita, the girl rex was now it. Meanwhile, Petrie was resting on a log. Screech and Thud were walking nearby. Ducky was following the directions Rita had given her.
"I'm tired," Thud commented. "Thank just lie down on the log," Screech advised, looking down at Petrie. "Me will move," Petrie replied. Though he didn't know what they were saying, he could tell that Thud was tired. Ducky saw Petrie, but she didn't see the fast biter brothers.
"
I'll just run up and give PEtrie a kiss, that's what I'll do, I will, I will." Ducky thought to herself. She closed her eyes for some reason, maybe to double the surprise. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and began to dash towards the log just as Thud began lying down.
KISS.
There, it was done. Ducky had gave Petrie a kiss.......right? But when she opened her eyes, she noticed something odd. Petrie and Screech were just staring at her in confused silence. Ducky had accidently kissed Thud on the cheek of his face.

Thud looked at Ducky in the same manner as Petrie and Screech. Ducky, meanwhile, felt humiliated beyond repair.
"Uh, Ducky. What that all about?" gasped Petrie.
It was then that Ducky knew she had her shot at telling Petrie exactly how she felt about him. However, she was too embarrassed and ashamed to say anything.
"I, uh, I, uh, uh, uh," was all she could spit out before her shame ot the best of her. "You would not understand, no no no!"
Ducky turned around and took off while crying harshly as the threesome continued to stare in shock.
"Whatever got into her?" asked Screech.
"I dunno. That was strange but kind of her nonetheless," added Thud.
"Me go talk to Ducky. Me have feeling me have to do with this," sighed Petrie as he flew after Ducky.

Under these circumstances, Petrie quickly flew after Ducky. The swimmer was sitting by herself, still crying. "What wrong Ducky?" Petrie asked.
Ducky sniffled a bit. "You know that kiss I gave Thud?" she asked sadly. "Yes," replied Petrie, not quite getting what see was talking about. "It was.......meant for you Petrie, it was, it was."
Petrie looked surprised.....but not too surprised. "Me know you like me Ducky," the flyer smiled, "And me.....like you too." Ducky brightened up completely. She ran over to Petrie and gave him a kiss.....no interruptions this time.
"Aww......." they heard voices say. They looked around, it was Littlefoot, Spike, Chomper, Rita, Cera, and Ruby. But Ducky and Petrie weren't embarrased.

"Very sweet. You two make such a cute couple," said Chomper.
"You really do," added Littlefoot. "But, what will your folks think of this?"
"Me worry when time to tell come," squawked Petrie. Everyone laughed.
"I don't know what it is about this island, but there must be something on it causing love to be in the air. I'm glad for you two," said Cera. As she said that, she thought about how she wished she would one day meet that special someone who would be devoted to her and love her for life.

X-shaped trees were nearby. "Want to continue the sharptooth language lesson?" asked Chomper. "Sure Chomper," Littlefoot smiled

"Ya know, I was just thinking about something," Cera began. Everyone waited to hear from her before continuing the lesson.
"What is it, Cera?" Littlefoot asked, patiently.
"This is like, the third time we've seen those weird tree shapes," Cera commented.
"Yeah, I know," Chomper said, jumping into the conversation. "They grow like that all around the island."
"Well, I never saw things like this before, but now it seems like every 26 times someone does something, another one just shows up," Cera remarked.
"Twenty-six?" Littlefoot asked, curious if she had been keeping track.
"I don't know for sure. I was just giving a close guess, that's all. But it feels like things are really working out well with our little adventure here, even with those strange trees showing up all the time," Cera stated.
"Me no understand what you getting at," Petrie said, confused.
"Forget it! It's not important so it really doesn't matter anyway. Let's just keep trying to learn this language."
"That's the spirit, Cera!" Chomper said, encouraging her. "Now, the next lesson is adding the proper feel to the things you say."
"Huh? What do you mean, Chomper?" Littlefoot questioned.
"Well, wouldn't it sound strange if you said something this way, 'I am really sorry for how I treated you?' See? If you don't add the proper feel to a roar, things you want to tell others could sound like your asking a question. Or how about if someone was in danger, but you casually roar, 'Look out.' It is the urgency of saying that that brings a fast response so they will look out in time. You can't just roar words; the right feeling has to go along with it. Even with the right things to say, it will be difficult to get your meaning across with the wrong emotion. So now, let me start by showing you how to sound when roaring a question. Everyone listen up."

"zzzz..." snored Spike, then Ducky woke her brother up.
Chomper let out a tiny growl. "That's a calm, happy tone," Chomper explained. Everyone tried their best imitation. "Nice, good job, Chomper complimented."
The Sharptooth lesson went on for about 2 hours. The leafeaters were slowly but surely learning the language of carnivores. "This is pretty cool," Littlefoot said, surprised how well he and his friends were doing.
Terri and Dein soon came by. "Time for lunch son," Dein smiled contently to Chomper

"All right, see you later guys," Littlefoot roared.
Dein and Terri were taken back. "What did you just say?" Terri asked Littlefoot.
"What did she say?" Littlefoot asked Chomper since he hadn't learned that much.
"She was just surprised to hear you and understand you at the same time," Chomper said with a smile. He looked at his parents and roared the entire explanation to them. Both of them smiled and hugged him. They had never felt so proud! Although Dein wanted Chomper to grow up to be the best hunter, starting with a teaching career couldn't hurt. Chomper and Rita said their "See ya's" to the leaf eaters as they went with the grownups to eat.
"What are we gonna do now? I'm not even hungry yet," Cera complained.
Littlefoot's face brightened. "Hey guys! Why don't we practice what we've been learning so we'll get even better and surprise Chomper when he gets back!"
"Me like that idea," Petrie said.
"Me too. Yep, yep, yep," agreed Ducky.
"Talking what we've learned, will teach us how to talk," Ruby added.
"Fine. There's nothing better to do anyway," Cera replied.
"Great," said Littlefoot. "Let's get started. Ducky and Cera need some help with using the right feeling in a conversation. Cera sounds like she is exclaiming something every time she roars, while Ducky has trouble doing that at all. Why don't we begin there? Then all of will at least be able to express ourselves right."

Better and better the day was getting. "Snagged this," Redclaw called to his nephew, holding another flyer corpse. "Mmm.....I love these!" Chomper smiled. "Found a nest around here," Redclaw explained.
"Boss can catch anything," bragged Screech.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Littlefoot were teaching Cera to calm down her roars, while Petrie and Spike were helping Ducky

Cera was doing rather well in learning the sharptooth language. However, after a while, a bad feeling came over her that caused her to feel awful.
"Guys, I'll be back," she sighed just before she walked off. She could almost walk without limping by now. Littlefoot, who had picked up on her tone of voice, looked in the direction she had headed.
"I'll be back too," he said as he went in the same direction Cera had gone. The path he was taking ended where a large amount of trees and bushes were, but Cera was nowhere to be seen.
"Cera! Cera, where are you?!" he called. As soon as he called, he could hear sniffling.
"Cera?" he called in a much quieter tone as he followed the sound. Surely enough, he found her. She was laying down, had her face buried in her tucked in front legs, and was crying harshly. Littlefoot was both surprised and sad. Cera rarely cried, especially as harshly as she was. Littlefoot came closer to her.
"Cera," he whispered just before she looked up at him. Cera was peeved that Littlefoot had caught her crying before she could hide it, but did nothing as her cover was blown. She looked up at him, her face full of tears.
"Cera, what's wrong? You can tell me," Littlefoot whispered again as he nestled down next to her. "Was it something any of us said?"
"No," she choked. "Littlefoot, I have really been having a good time with everyone, but when will this end?"
"When will what end, Cera?" he asked curiously.
"Being stuck on this island. Littlefoot, I...I miss my family so much. My father always made me feel safe and I know he loves me even though he is gruff. Tria has always been so kind and always took care of me whenever I got sick. And Tricia, how she looked up to me from the start and how she would curl up with me whenever she got scared or cold. I miss them terribly. I just don't know how I'll ever live without them," she sobbed just before she buried her face and wept again.

"Don't worry, I know we'll see our families again," Littlefoot assured. Cera started to weep less.
"Thanks Littlefoot," she managed to smile. "Let's just go back and hang with our friends."

Eventually, Ducky was able to sound more agrressive with her roars. Petrie and Spike had tried to help her, but they weren't the best teachers on the subject either. Ducky had thanked them both for their attempt, but she still had trouble in this area. But it was Ruby that helped Ducky out with this in the end. It seems that Ducky had forgotten what Ruby had told her a long time ago on this matter, so Ruby just had to remind her and Ducky finally began to get the hang of roaring with more emphasis. Cera slowly began to talk more gently, but only after listening to Littlefoot do it several times. Littlefoot turned out to be an excellent teacher at how to speak calmly. They were all very pleased with themselves and couldn't wait to show off their improved skills. Not long afterwards, their two instructers returned. Picking something in his teeth unsccessfully, he roared with a claw still in his mouth, "Howth's it coming guyths?".

"Fairly well, actually," Littlefoot roared back. "That's good to hear," Chompmer replied in sharptooth.
The lesson went on. Soon, they learned more and more sentences, and became more and more fluent.
Soon, the 9 friends heard some rocks fall. "What was that?" asked Cera in flatooth. "Let's go check it out," Littlefoot replied. When they reached the source of the sound, they saw that Little Cavern had caved in.
"Oh great, looks like we can't sleep there," grumbled Cera. "Don't worry, you guys can stay with my family," smiled Chomper

"Great. At least we'll be safer with the grown-ups," said Littlefoot.
"Yes, we will be safer. Yep, yep, yep," added Ducky, then letting out a sneeze. The children then realized it was getting to be very cold.
"Yeah, and I hope we'll be warmer, too," Cera said through chattering teeth.

Hail (or, as the LBT cast would call it rock water) was beginning to fall. "Quick everyone, to my family's cave!" called Chomper. He and his parents led the children as well as Redclaw, Screech, and Thud to a MASSIVE cave, big enough to fit all of them in.
"Nice place brother," Redclaw complimented. "Thanks," replied Dein. "it's much warmer in here, it is, it is," smiled Ducky. "Thank goodness for that," Cera sighed relieved.
"This rock water storm will last the rest of the day," Terri said, and the leafeaters understood her. "We should play a game we could play in this cave," Ruby suggested

Instantly getting the hint that Ruby wanted her game played yet again, they said, "Sure," and were going to start when Littlefoot roared, "But Ruby, wouldn't it be better to play something that everyone here can join in?"
"Hmmm. You have a good point, a good point you have." She thought for a bit. "Well," she began with a smile, "All of us have been on the island for a while. Why don't we make make references to something that happened after we got here and have everyone try to guess what situations they're from?" she roared.
This sounded good to everyone except the fastbiter brothers who haven't involved themselves in much of anything after getting here. Still, they agreed to try.
"Hey dad, why don't you go first?" Chomper suggested.
"Sure son. This sounds fun." He thought for a while. Everyone was wondering if he would think of anything at all when he finally grinned and asked, "What situation was this from? 'I think flyers are the yummiest'," he quoted. This would have been a fine way to start if Petrie hadn't learned sharptooth.
"Who on island ever say that!?" Petrie asked appalled.
"Dad!" Chomper exclaimed.
"Ooops," was all Dein said, thinking of a way to cover this up.

Just then, Dein came up with a cover-up. "That was me, I apologize for startling you flyer," he said to Petrie. "It ok," Petrie said, nervous at first, but then he calmed down. The game went on, Petrie recalling their visit to the stinky place.
The hail storm went on. "Glad we're in here," Rita smiled.

"Let me go next!" Rita exclaimed after the game had continued for a while longer. The game hadn't stopped yet because the hail sure hadn't and nobody was tired anyway. When they all said, "Sure," she replied, "Some of you were in great danger, yet someone managed to save the day with his amazing idea."
Now before Rita had even started her descritption, everyone, except the slower minded fastbiter brothers- had a strong feeling that she would talk about Chomper. Now the three grown sharpteeth still felt that way, but they weren't there when the despression was filled with water with Cera, Duck, and Littlefoot inside it. Chomper smiled but wouldn't answer since he thought it would come across as bragging, the whole, "I'm the one who saved them," thing. Cera didn't want to admit in front of everyone a second time, so she said nothing either. Spike didn't say a word, but everyone knows why that was. So finally, Littlefoot answered smiling, "Chomper did it. His quick thinking is the reason we made it out of there alive."
Now the three grownups, whose guess was now confirmed, hugged their son/nephew, proud as they were of him now that they knew what he had done.
"Well, Littlefoot, you got it right so you can go ahead," she said with a smile. She had hoped that Chomper would have guessed it then talked about her, but she could always try again. Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind. "He didn't forget what had happened there, did he?" She hoped all the trauma from his injury wasn't affecting his memory. That would be awful, even worse, it would be her fault! Now she looked worried.

"My turn, like you said," Littlefoot replied.
As he was describing something in both languages, Chomper walked up to Rita. "Don't worry Rita," Chomper said, knowing what Rita was thinking, "I don't have remembering trouble or anything."
The game went on, and pretty soon the gang remembered every island-related thing they knew, as did the sharpteeth.
"What should we play now," asked Ducky, noticing the hail storm still going on

"Nothing comes to me mind right now," Petrie commented. "What about you guys?"

"Oh, I know!" Chomper said suddenly as his eyes lit up. "Why don't we go around and say what we like the best about the one sitting next to us?"
"Hey, great idea Chomper!" Littlefoot said. "This will be fun and cheer us up at the same time. Do you guys all agree?" he roared.
Almost everyone said "Yes," except for Ducky, who to everyone's surprise actually roared "No."
"What's the matter Ducky?" Littlefoot asked her. "If you'd rather not play, we don't mind, I just hope you're feeling okay."
Ducky looked very puzzled. "What do you mean Littlefoot?" she asked in a very confused voice. "I'd love to play this. I would. I would."
"But you just said you wouldn't," Cera "reminded" her.
"Yes, I didn't say that. I really would like to play this game," Ducky replied, and now everyone was confused.
But then Chomper remembered that none of the leaf eaters here had spoken sharptooth for very long at all, so he had a feeling what the problem was here. He turned and asked Ducky, "Just answer this question in one word. Do you like Spike?"
Ducky was getting all the more confused but she answered him with a "No." Everyone gasped, even Spike.
Chomper laughed though, and everyone stared at him. "Don't worry guys. I know what;s going on. Ducky just got a little mixed up and confused her roars of "Yes" and "No." Here Ducky. "Yes" is actually this," he roared a demonstration, "and "No" is this one," again, he showed her.
"Oh, thank you Chomper, thank you. I was wondering what was going on here," Ducky told him gratefully. But everyone there was just as appreciative to Chomper for clearing up this problem.
"Well, now that that is settled, let's get started!" Chomper announced.
"Wait!" Rita called, and everyone now turned to her. "Which direction are we going?"
"Uh, what do you mean Rita?" Chomper asked her.
"I mean, are we going to our left side in this game, or our right?" she wanted to know.
Well, nobody had any idea why she asked that since they didn't think it mattered at all, but just to answer her and make the game more organized, Chomper randomly picked and said, "We'll move to our right, I guess."
"Okay," Rita replied. Now Rita was sitting on Chomper's left side and she still wanted him to say something nice about her since the last game they all played. Her attempt then hadn't worked out like she had hoped, but she knew her plan for this game wouldn't fail. "Excuse me just a moment please guys," Rita told the others as she got up and went to the edge of the cave and gazed outside, trying to make it seem as if she was just seeing how bad the hail storm was, then she came back in and sat down next to Chomper, but this time, on his right side. She thought that nobody would realize what she did, but other than Petrie, Ducky, and Spike, everyone noticed, and Chomper smiled on the inside, trying to think of what to say about her. He needed time to find just the right words, so he suggested the one on Rita's right, who was his mother Terri, to start off. That way, he'll have the most time to think. Terri, who was sitting on the left side of her mate Dein, agreed, and the game began.

"Personally, I find Dein to be the handsomest, smartest, and yeas, even toughest sharptooth I know," Terri said. Dein looked flattered.
Dein went next: This was the sitting order, based on the game: Dein, Spike, Ducky, Petrie, Redclaw, Littlefoot, Thud, Cera, Screech, Chomper, and Rita

Questioning himself on what to say, Dein said nothing at first. Then he said the first thing that came to mind," At least he'll never say anything annoying."
"Smooth, brother."
"Dein!" Terri exclaimed.
"What? That was a very good thing I said!"
"Well it wasn't very sensitive!"
"Uh, mom, dad? Spike never even learned sharptooth. He didn't even understand what was said."
The two grownups looked at the spiketail who was looking very confused at the escalated voices.
"Oh," Dein replied. "Then just tell him that he never gets too loud."
"Dein."
"He never makes fun of others."
"Dein!"
"Okay, okay! How about, 'He has a healthy appetite'?"
"That would be fine," Terri replied.
So Chomper translated and Spike smiled and started licking Dein's foot.
"Uh, you're welcome," Dein said.
"Spike's turn!" Littlefoot called.
Spike just looked at Ducky for a moment, then began licking her too. The kids just laughed.
"I think Spike likes everything about Ducky the best," Cera commented.
Ducky knew it was her turn next. She hoped that she could say something really nice about Petrie. She wondered what he would like to hear the most.

Right then and there, Ducky thought up something.
"Petrie is very funny and smart, he is, he is," Ducky smiled. "Really?" asked Petrie. Ducky happily nodded yes.
"What do you know, more young love blooming," Terri whispered to Dein.
It was Petrie's turn, he needed to think of something to say to Redclaw.

"Something really good about Redclaw," Petrie roared almost immediately. Everyone except Spike quickly turned to him in surprise, especially Redclaw and Dein.
"What in the world could you have to say good about him?" Dein asked.
"What does that mean?" Redclaw growled.
"Ah, I didn't mean it like THAT," Dein replied with a claw on his head. "I meant that I didn't know what the little flyer could say that he liked about you since you all haven't been together very long you know."
"Oh. That does make sense," Redclaw replied. "Okay little flyer, what is it?"
"It 'Petrie' by the way," he responded. "Now, we not even be here if not for Redclaw. He beat that big green sharptooth all be hisself like it nothing. Redclaw tell us later his name Kole."
At that, all five adult sharptooth had a reaction.
Screech, "That's our boss."
Thud, "He can beat anyone."
Redclaw just beamed.
Dein and Terri turned red.
"What's wrong with you too?" Redclaw asked them.
"What could be wrong?" Dein and Terri said at the exact same time, then they looked at each other and Redclaw just stared at them both.
"I had no choice but to kill him. He tried to kill us first. Were you three friends or something?" Redclaw asked them.
"No," Chomper's parents again said at the same time, and Redclaw was getting very suspicious now.
"Ah, they're just sore they had trouble beating him together yet you killed him no sweat," Cera roared.
"Cera!" Littlefoot nudged her sharply.
Redclaw, who had heard Cera clearly, turned to those two sharply, with a lot to say to them, but they were in the middle of a game and it would sat the best example for the children present, he actually roared, "Thanks 'Petrie'," to everyone's surprise.
"My turn then. Alrght little longneck."
"Littlefoot," he corrected.
"Right. So Littlefoot, I certainly appreciate all the excerise you've given me, running after you so much and all."
Dein snorted. "Excersize?" he thought to himself. But he said nothing since his brother had just refrained from saying anything about their fighting abilities a bit ago, and everyone just thought he had just sniffed hard.
"Uh, I'm always glad to help," Littlefoot roared after a moment, although he felt it awkward for Redclaw to say about him. Being chased by a giant sharptooth didn't seem like a good way to excersize to him.
Littlefoot now turned to Thud. Considering how much he complimented his "boss" and how loyal he was to him, this wouldn't be very hard.

Thinking for a moment, Littlefoot eventually thought of something. "Well, you seem ....devoted to your boss Thud," the longneck roared.
"Thanks," Thud roared in reply. It was his turn, and he had to say something nice about Cera.

Unable to think of something for a while, Thud just stared at her. This happened for so long that Cera finally asked him, "Is something wrong?"
"No," he said simply.
"Uh, then what are you waited for? It can't be that hard to say something nice about me!"
"I'm just having trouble thinking of what to say," he replied.
"Then there IS something wrong!" Cera retorted.
"Oh," he said simply.
After a while, everyone wondered if he forgot what was even going on, but then he finally said, "She'd make a good boss someday."
Now this was the most surprising compliement they'd all heard yet.
"What does that mean?" Cera wanted to know- very badly.
"Good bosses are tough, like to fight, and tell others what to do. You'll never be as good as our boss, but you'll still make a good one for your group."
Just about everyone there braced themselves.
Cera said nothing at first. Then she asked Thud one question, "That's a really big compliment from a sharptooth huh?"
"Oh yeah. Every sharptooth would love to be a good boss," he answered, nodding.
"Wow. Thanks," she answered. "My turn now."
Even Dein, Terri, Redclaw, and Rita, he didn't know Cera very well at all, were greatly taken back. Other than Spike and Screech, everyone there was posititve there was about to a be very serious and loud confrontation for no short amount of time.
Cera looked beyond what would normally be considered a large insult and avoided yelling about it? She actually kept Thud from feeling bad about it too? Whoa. Either she just didn't feel like arguing, or she was actually maturing. Everyone was really impressed.
"Why is everyone staring at me like that?" she asked everyone. They quickly looked away. "O-kay. I'm going ahead now."
Screech was next to her. Now Cera was going to say something nice about a sharptooth? Nobody expected two miracles in one day, but they waited hear what she would say about him.

Very much so, Cera eventually did think of something.
"Well, you seem very tough," she roared. Screeh looked flattered.
Cera surprised herself, she doubted she would've been able to come up with that, but she did.
Now it was Screech's turn to say something to Chomper.

"Well, I'm glad about this little biter saving my brother a while back," Screech said. It didn't take him long to think of that. Then again, saving a family member is pretty hard to forget.
"I am not little! Oh, and uh, no problem," Chomper wished he didn't get offended so quickly after being called that.
"Yeah, that was real nice of you," Thud said. "At least we're even though."
"Huh?" Chomper wanted to know. "What does that mean?"
"Oh. I was just talking about that hiding game you seven had been playing that day with Boss." Thud was slow, but his memory was impressive. Although, the gang was currently having a little trouble in that area.
"When did we ever play hide and seek with Redclaw?" Littlefoot asked him, thinking Thud wasn't thinking correctly.
"Ya know! After the little biter helped me, you all hid from Boss in that small cave. He almost found you, but I led him another way to thank you," Thud told them.
Redclaw mentally sighed. "So that's why I couldn't find them."

Six of the gang were shocked. The other was touched.
"You saved us to repay me? Wow. I'm speecheless," Chomper said slowly, still taking this in.
"Oh, don't worry kid," Thud assured him. "I'm not good with speeches either. Try asking Boss. He's good at everything."
Everyone sighed, but the entire gang looked at Thud a lot differently now.
Now was the moment someone had been looking forward to for quite some time. It was Chomper's turn. Wonder who was waiting for this.
Honestly, Chomper had gotten so focused on enjoying this game, he hadn't thought of a wonderful thing to say about Rita.
"It's your turn now Chomper," Rita said, smiling at him.
Chomper had nothing prepared. He started to perspire, though it wasn't noticed by anyone else. He had no choice now. He was just going to have to speak as he went along, or more specifically, pour out his feelings without thinking about them first.
"Uh, well I," then he looked at that pretty smile of hers again and the words just came to him,"I like all my friends, but what I like best about you Rita, is that I love you."

X-shaped trees were not so amazing to Rita as Chomper's comment just now.
"And...I love you too Chomper!" Rita replied loudly, and then the two sharpteeth proceeded to kiss, and they didn't care that everyone else was watching. Chomper and Rita's love for each other was true, and deep.
"This must be how Ali makes me feel," Littlefoot tought to himself.
Caught in the heat of the moment, Rita remembered she still had to take her turn.

"You hopeless romantics are so lame!" Cera laughed at the Sharp teeth and the longnecks.
"Pffft...three horns never fall in love like that..., well, except for my dad..."

"Zzz....." snored spike.
"He falls asleep in weird places, he does, he does," commented Ducky.

"Actually, Cera, threehorns must fall in love like that, too. The threehorn race would not still be here if they did not fall in love, no no no," Ducky replied to Cera's statement.

*boing* a rock bounced on Spike's head. Petrie tried to wake him up, but nothing happened. Ducky and Cera shook their heads and Petrie blushed seeing the girls reactions. :oops

Continuing the game, Rita suddenly realized she had to say something nice about Terri.

Didn't take much time for Rita to think of something.
"You're a devoted mother, you're strong, and your brave," Rita smiled. The circle of players had gone around completely, so the game was over.
"That was fun," Ducky roared in sharptooth.
"It's getting late, looks like all of yo will have to sleep here," commented Chomper, the hail storm still going on

Elsewhere, far away, swarming leaf gobblers had pretty much taken over the GV area. It was pointless for the leafeaters to head back there.
All the other flatteeth arrived at the place they went to back in Part V. "Ya know, I've always wondered what's on that island," Tria said, eying Sharptooth Island in the distance. "Probably nothing important," grunted Topsy

Finding a comfortable place of his own, Ecco settled down, and looked at the island himself.
"Hunh," he said quietly to himself. "I wonder how the others even got on that island. I don't even see a place to walk across." Then he snorted. "And while they're on the island having a great time, I have to do all the work of keeping their families settled." Then he glanced at Mr. Threehorn. "But I seem to be having a little trouble with that. You'd think they'd want to be back with their families by now. Nothing is better than a family..." he said, getting lost in thought.
"Hey, Ecco!" a loud voice called to him, and he snapped back into reality.
"Yes, Mr. Threehorn?" he replied, although knowing what the subject was already.
"The children should have been here by now. If anything has happened to them, I'll-"
"Topsy!" Tria called. "Don't get angry at Ecco. He didn't do anything."
"I KNOW THAT!" he responded angrily. "The children snuck away because he did nothing. He could have warned us that they were planning to leave so we could have stopped them. If he had had done SOMETHING, we wouldn't be separated from them now. Who should I be angry at?"
"Topsy..." Tria responded, sounding like she was going to cry. Actually, she had known him a long time and was used to his gruffness, but she was trying to get him away from the poor boy. "You don't need to yell at me," she said, getting choked up, and began to walk away with her head down and tail between her legs.
"Tria, wait! I didn't mean to- Come back! I'm sorry, okay?" Then he went after her, leaving Ecco alone.
"Guys," he said, even though they weren't there to hear him, "I'm sorry but, if every day is going to be like this until you decide to come back, then you leave me no choice."
He smiled. "You're all gonna be bringing me breakfast in nest for a very long time. Now I won't have to get up early just to collect tree stars all juicy from the morning dew." Feeling very satisfied with his repayment solution, he curled up on his little spot, and slept soundly the whole night.

Getting back to the island, the group suddenly heard voices. "Coming thorugh!" they heard a female voice in sharpteeth call.
"Who's that?" asked Littlefoot "Oh, just some friends of the family," Terri smiled. Suddenly coming into the cave was a familar pair of a belly dragger and a sharpbeak.....

"Hold it, Dil!" Ichy yelled, but she was going too fast already. She slammed her head into Dein's ankle.
"Ow!" he exclaimed, then looked down. "Come on, I know you can't see very well, but you haven't had that excuse ever since you met Ichy," Dein said annoyed, though not actually angry.
"Yeah, I've been telling her to work with me for a long time now," Ichy said with his wings folded.
"I beg your pardon!?" she shouted back.
"Well you aren't going to get it!" he snapped.
"What's the matter now?" Terri asked them.
"I'm getting tired of doing everything," he complained.
"What!?" she yelled back.
"I do all the real work."
"You!? I get all the food!"
"Well you couldn't get it without me! I'm the eyes."
"So? I'm the teeth!" and she snapped them angrily.
"Hold on!" Cera interrupted. "Friends of the family? You all know each other?"
"Of course," Dein answered. "Terri and I were the ones that brought them together."
"What!?" the Petrie, Ducky, Cera, and Littlefoot exclaimed.
"Um, I'm confused, confused I really am," Ruby said. Turning to the leaf eaters, "How do you know that bellydragger and sharpbeak?"
"Uh, they try and eat us before," Petrie told her, still uncomfortable with them around.
"Don't take it personally," Dil said. "We just need to eat to survive. We can't help that."
The gang pondered that a while and it did make sense, but they didn't like getting eaten any more than they did before.
"So, Mr. and Ms. Sharptooth," Littlefoot began, "How did you get them together?"
"Well, there isn't much to it," Dein said. "Ichy and I had known each other a while, and I was getting tired and getting food for him all the time."
"Hmph!" Ichy replied, looking away.
"Dil and I go way back too," Terri said, "And let's just say we had quite a bit of run ins."
"I just don't see so good!" Dil retorted.
"After I met Terri, I preferred living together with her, and not a nest full of friends. I like both of them, but mates need to have their own place for being alone sometimes and raising children," Dein told them, nudging Chomper.
"So," Terri continued, "The two of us realized Dil and Ichy should be together too. They complete the otehr by making up for their strength and weakness. Ichy isn't strong enough to get the big prey he prefers, but he's great at spotting them. Dil has trouble finding them, but when she can, well, there's no need to say more. So we had them meet and things seemed to work out so they left together."
"Much to our relief. Ooof!" Terri jabbed Dein for saying that.
"He means he was happy for them finding the right partner," Terri "explained."
"Yeah, but each of them always feels like he or she is the "important" one and does the "main" part." Looking down at them, he continued, saying, "But they don't seem to realize that they play equal roles and they need each other. Perhaps when they see that, they could get along," Dein told them.
"But I can't see," Dil pointed.
"When I said "see" I meant that- never mind," Dein gave up.
Terri translated for her to understand. "He just meant that once you realize that none of you are better than the other one, you'll appreciate each more."
"Well, why didn't he say that?" Dil asked. Dein snorted very loudly.
"Well, you two must be tired from getting here," Terri said. "Why don't you stay a while and get some rest?"
"Yeah, I'm exhausted," Ichy said. "I had to be the look out so Dil would be able to find this island again."
"You're tired?" Dil asked. "I swam all the way while you sat on me!"
"Well you couldn't get here without me! I'm the-"
"Enough!" Redclaw shouted. The two of them fell silent. "My ears are full enough, but there is still room in my stomach," he said with a glare in his eye. The two of them gulped, but Dein and Terri had to keep from laughing. Redclaw was a friend of theirs too, and he'd never eat them.
"Now, the two of you have two choices: You can either shut your mouths, or you won't have them much longer. What is your decision?" Redclaw asked, struggling to keep a straight face. Neither of them answered.
"A wise choice. Now we're all very tired. In fact, we were all just about to go to sleep before you two came crashing in. We're all turning in now, and I really hope you don't change your minds about the choice you just made, 'cause if any of us wake up from hearing you two, I won't give you a choice anymore. Are we clear?" Redclaw asked as sternly as he could. They both nodded.
"Good night everyone," Redclaw said, heading over to a comfortable sleeping place.
"Uncle Redclaw is great," Chomper thought to himself, also knowing he wouldn't eat them. "Good night uncle" he called back.
"Good night!" each one said in his or her own way, except for Dil and Ichy, who said nothing at all.
So just about everyone there lied down and went to sleep for the night. It was "just about everyone" because Spike was already asleep.

Ichy woke up in the middle of the night. He spot a buzzer's nest admist the hail a short distance, and flew over to it. "I need something in my stomach," he muttered to himself.
Littlefoot had also woken up. It was funny, first Redclaw, Screech, and Thud, now Ichy and Dil, sharpteeth he once thought were mean he now knew were quite nice

Just as the adults were settling into the old area, Topsy wondered more about the island in the distance

Littlefoot walked over to Ichy. "Want help getting that nest?" the longneck offered

"Littlefoot, want to get us some treestars?" Cera called from the cave.

"Maybe later" was his reply.

"No, unless you feel like being a headless longneck!" Ichy retorted, answering Littlefoot's question.
"What's your problem, I only want to help!" Littlefoot asked irritably.

"Oh no! Bellydragger!" Yelled Littlefoot as he ran away.

Puzzled, Ichy looked confused. "The only belly dragger around here is Dil." he said.

Questionable; that's what Littlefoot's actions were.
"Where that sharp-beak is, that belly-dragger is sure to folllow!" he said.

Rita and Chomper were out hunting. "Do you smell anything good?" Rita asked her boyfriend.

"Smell?" He replied. "I do smell something good... coming from... the south!"

That direction.. what is that smell? Rita asked..

"Unless I am mistaken... it is some sort of four-legged dinosaur, but I'm not sure which one."

Very Surprised, judging by the smell' Rita added..

"Well, what do you think it is?" Chomper asked.

"Xactly what it is, I dobn't know' Rita replied, giving Chomper an affectionate look..

"You look at me so kindly" Chomper said. "Did you have anything in mind?"

"Zzz..." snored spike elsewhere.

Finally, it ended. "That was nice," Chomper smiled. "Yeah," Rita replied.
"I wonder what everyone else is doing?" Chomper asked.

However they were wrong, they were actually quite bored, doing nothing.
"So, what do you want to do now?" One of them randomly asked.

I want to play 'hide and seek " ali said.

Just then, Chomper and Rita showed up. "Can we join in?" they asked.

Kindly, Ali nodded. "we're just getting together teams.."

"Let's be on the same team," Littlefoot said to Chomper.

Making it, what, boys vs Girls " ali said. "i can live with that.."

"Nice..." said Chomper "I hope you girls won't cry when we beat you real bad."

Quite the talk coming froma guy with such short Arms " Ali retorted..

"RRR! My arms are not little! They're just... not big yet!" Chomper said.

"To be honest, my arms and hands aren't as important to this as my legs and feet" Chomper said.

Unfortunately, they didn't realize Ali had a trick or two ready for them that would make the Girls win it.

Very much ready, the boys prepared to play the game.

"Well, Chomper said. "I will do what I can in this game. Hopefully it won't require use of my arms."

Zeroing in on their opponents the girls got ready to face the boys.

Quietly Mr. Clubtail slept on. Unaware of the goings on elsewhere.

Roughly, Ali pushed for position.

Still, the boys played on. Their greater size and strength made them hard to beat.

Tough for the boys however, Cera jumped into the game and pushed all of the boys away and she was the winner.

Unusually for him, Chomper said "Did Cera break any rules? I mean, is she allowed to DO that?"

"U got that right!" As Little Foot stared and snarled at Cera. Cera rolled her eyes and just plopped herself on the hill. "You boys would not stand a chance against me anyway!"

Very angry, Chomper walked up to Cera.

Warily, Spike got up and looked for Ducky, wanting to get away from the pain and anger rippling through the young dinos. Cera pushed Chomper backwards and it sent Chomper falling in the dirt.

"Xah!" Chomper said. "Cera, you-!" Chomper, not wanting to risk hurting her with his bite, kicked Cera in the side with his sharp claws.
-
"ZOMG!" Ruby shouted as she saw Cera being kicked by Chomper. "What's all this ruckus about?" She demanded as she narrowed her eyes at Chomper and Cera. Cera said, "These guys think they can beat me! The nerve of them..."
-
"Ahh!" Chomper yelled as he kicked Cera again; even at his young age, he still had the instincts of a male tyrannosaurus.
-
Bleeding from where he had kicked her.. Cera began to move away..
-
Cera moved over to where Ruby was. She had gone there to get away from Chomper and rest while getting better.

Ducky moved over to stop Chomper..
-
Everybody looked at Chomper who had seen what he had done, some of them afraid of him likely, and some others going over closer to where he was to either talk to him or for other reasons maybe.

"For the love of all things holy! Why did you do that Cera. And why did you kick her like that Chomper?" Ducky demanded.

"GRR!" Chomper said, still feeling mad and aggressive.

"Hey, maybe we get grown ups to handle this." Petrie said.

"I'll go get my mommy" Ducky said.

Just as Cera was trying to walk away, she suddenly slid down the hill, and blood was oozing out of her side. She narrowed her eyes at Chomper, who was also narrowing his eyes at her.

Knuckles clenched into a fist, Chomper looked at Cera with a mean expression.

Littlefoot and Ali ran after them, trying to break up the fighting

"Mommy!" Ducky yelled "Cera and Chomper got in a fight!"

Nearby, Spike moved over to block Cera from getting near Chomper

Outraged, Chomper advanced on Cera, fangs bared.

Petrie took off to go and tell Cera's dad about what Chomper had done and was doing.

"Quiet!" Littlefoot yelled at Chomper, who was making roaring sounds, which were surprisingly mature for his age.

Realkizing things were getting out of Hand, ali stepped in betweeen them, " Stop it Chomper!"
-
"Shut up, Ali!" Chomper shouted.
-
That set Ali Poff, She swung around and shlapped Chomper across the face with her tail..
-
Unless she thought she could take on a sharptooth, Ali was very brave. Chomper leaped at her and bit her on the tail, and held on even as she was sent screaming and running with tears in her eyes, even as he was still holding onto her.

Very quicky Petrie flew till he reached Cera's dad. Landing he told him what he had seen of what Chomper was up to.

"Whoa!" Chomper said as Ali tried to throw him off, without success.
-
"Xerism would remedy you Chomper!" Cera shouted at him. She went to Ali and picked him up with her mouth and pulled him off of Ali's tail. She threw him to the tree trunk, making him unconscious.

"You shouldn't have done that Choomper' ali said ignoring the bites Chomper had given her..
-
"Zo..Ali...forget it...he's knocked out anyway..." Cera replied. Little Foot loomed over Chomper, pitying him, but at the same time angered that he would hurt Ali and Cera. In no time at all, Mr. Three Horn and Petrie came to the kids and Mr. Three Horn roared in great fury. "WHAT HAPPENED HERE?"

"And, you young ones what do you have to say for yourselves. Until we get to the bottom of this, you must all go home.. Ali, You will stay with us until we can reach your mother,."

"Because of him..." Cera mumbled. "Now I'm in trouble too..." She narrowed her eyes at the fallen purple sharptooth. Little Foot stayed near Ali and Mr. Three Horn lead Cera away to the watering hole to have her wounds healed. Ali and Little Foot followed Mr. Three Horn and Cera. Petrie followed close behind. But Ducky and Spike loomed over Chomper and shook their heads before following Mr. Three Horn.

"Cera, are you okay?" Tria said, just arriving on the scene.

Don't touch the bites Ali' Grandpa said. "We';'ll get leaves to put on them.."

"EEE! They hurt!" Cera said.

For now, but the pain will go away.. Chomper has very sharp terrth and claws..'Topsy said.

Getting up, Chomper saw what had happened.

Hurting still from the bites in her tail, Ali winced.

"I can't believe Chomper did that!" Ali said. "I wonder how such a young sharptooth has such a strong bite."

Just because he was angry too " Littlefoot said.

"Kicked me, he did!" Cera said. "He's got strong legs and a very strong bite."

Lets just rest and heal up, we can confront hiim later. " Littlefoot said..

Many days in the future, Chomper would grow up to be aggressive and fierce. He was already showing signs of it now. He was taught to be kind, but his instincts were too much.

nothing they could do would change that fact.. would thier friendship survive past thier childhood days?

"Oh..." Littlefoot said in disappointment. "We are going to have to either fight Chomper, or force him to leave the valley. He will become a danger no matter what."

Perhaps we should give him a choice first. He can leave on his own" ali said..

"Question!" Petrie said. "Can we teach Chomper not to be all 'bitey'?"

Right or wrong, it is his nature. We can't teach him not to bite us.." Ali said

"So... we will have to say goodbye to Chomper?" Ducky said, sadly.

That is unfortunately what will happen kids. He;s a sharpttooth, and Shapteeth eat l;eafeaters" Grandpa said. "We can't afford to have a Sharptooth live with us..

"Unless..." Littlefoot said "Unless we can find a way to keep him fed, but have no dinosaur in the valley get eaten by him."

Very hard to do" Grandpa said. "Some dinosaur will have to die to feed him.."

"Why?" Ducky said, with tears in our eyes "Why does our friend have to do this?"

'xactly why? because it is in his nature..I'm sorry because you have been such good friends, but kleafeaters andsharpteeth don't remain friends as adults..

"You don't know Chomper!" Ducky said. "He isn't like that!"

zero chance, Ducky. He will will change as he grows up.. he will forget you and he were once friend, it is his kinds bnnature.. I'm sorry if you refuse to belief it, but it is the truth..

A sad look came over Ducky's face. She knew it was true; she just didn't want to believe it.

But Mr Longneck, doies it have to be this way?' ali asked.

"Children, I'm afraid that there may not be another way. I am sorry" He replied.

Downcast, everyone lowered their heads, except for Cera. Though she still felt bad that Chomper became so angry like that, and it was all because of a stupid comment she made. She sighed and looked her friends with much sympathy in her eyes.

"Everyone, it was me who made Chomper so mad. This is my fault." Cera said.

For that cEra, You'kll be spending the next two days at home, where your stepmother and I can watch you ' Topsy said.

"Good." Littlefoot's grandfather said. "I would normally not be so harsh on you, but it serves you right, Cera. I see that Mr. Threehorn and I finally agree on something..."

Hey, Mr Longneck, its going to be few days before my mom gets here.." You can stay with us Ali, we don't mind.." Granpa smiled..

Jumping away from everyone, Chomper bawled his eyes out. He couldn't believe he did this to his friends. He wanted to run away so badly. He couldn't believe what he did. Even though he was mad at Cera, it was HIS choice of whether or not to react the way he did to Cera. So he knew he had to apologize, but what if no one would believe him? He had to apologize to them by tomorrow.

"KRAAH! Why did I do that?!" Chomper said. "I didn't mean to hurt them! It just... happened..."

Littlefoot lay down, it was getting late..

Moonlight shone over the valley. It was a sad night for Littlefoot and his friends.

Not one of them was having an easy time falling asleep that night, not even Cera or Ali. They felt very sad that they may have to say goodbye to their sharptooth friend for good.

Opposed to waking up Ruby, Chomper sneaked out of the cave and tried to find his friends. He wanted to go to Ducky first. So he went to Ducky and tried to wake her up gently. "Ducky...Ducky...I need to tell you something." He whispered.

Perhaps he did not speak loudly enough, for Ducky slept on. Chomper nuzzled her gently to wake her up.

Quit it Petrie' Ducky mumbled.

"RRR!" Chomper said. Ducky woke with a start. Luckily, Chomper hadn't woken the others nearby.

Silencing her, Chomper made Ducky sit up stared into her eyes. "Ducky...listen to me! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for everything I have done! Please forgive me!"

Thats not going to be easy Chomper" She said. "you bit cEra and Ali pretty hard.."

"Unless you find some way to make it up to them, and show us that you are not a threat." Mr. Thicknose said. He had been following Chomper the whole time, but had kept quiet until now.

"Valid claims is what I need then?" Chomper asked, but was surprised of Mr. Thicknose's appearance. "Ok, then Ducky," Chomper turned to face Ducky. "I completely slipped up, I shouldn't have reacted to Cera the way I did. Please, Ducky, please forgive me." He was on bended knees and Spike was at Ducky's side, guarding his sister and reading Chomper's motives. "A sharptooth can mess up and it's true, I probably won't be friends to you and the others forever, but I promise, I will NEVER EVER do anything to hurt anyone in the Great Valley. Ever."

"What if you bite someone again?" Ducky said. "That would be 'worser', yep, yep, yep."

"Youngin', just listen to me." Mr. Thicknose told Chomper. "A while back, I couldn't even get any trust from ANYONE because they found out I didn't know everything. And well, it took me years to mature and wise up. If you wise up now, you can make everything turn out alright." Chomper shook his head at the crazy old man. But he also knew he was right, so he turned to Ducky and said, "Well, if I do bite someone again, I will leave the Great Valley, so no one here will ever get hurt again."

"Before anyone else wakes up, I need to tell the others. Good night Mr. Thicknose! Good night Ducky!" Chomper leaves and goes to Cera, who is also sleeping, he glumped knowing it was going to be VERY tough convincing her. But he had to try. He tapped her shoulder whispering, "Hey, wake up."

"Darn it, Cera! I'm trying to make things better, but you are making them worse!" Chomper said to her.

"Fine!" Chomper said, and he stomped away to go find Ali.

Hearing a rustle in the bushes Ali lifted her heads, Littlefoot was asleep next to her...

"I'm awake!" Ali said "Who's there?"

Just Me" Chomper said nervously I'm sorry Ali.. I feel terrible about what I did.
_ You nearly biit off ha;f my tail! "I'm really sorry" Chomper said. Ali sighed the wing blowing through her nostrils come over here and Lie down next to me and littlefoot..' She said finally.

"Krr.." Chomper growled to himself, still feeling bad at what he had done.

Littlefoot will wake up, if you don't hurry Ali said directing Chomper to a spot next to her

"My voice isn't that loud" he said, lying down.

"No, but Littlefoot isn't that heavy of a sleeper." Ali answered Chomper as he sat down.

Okay" Chomper said moving over and lying down on Ali'd other side.

Perfectly comfortable, they all lay down and slept.

Quietly, Littlefoot began to stir..

Right next to Littlefoot slept Ali. Littlefoot opened his eyes and saw her, but before he had any time to savor the sight, he saw Chomper lying next to both of them!

Shakes alive! Chomper what are you doing here!' He asked..

Totally surprised, Chomper woke up with a start and yelled, but he quickly calmed down. "Oh, Littlefoot! It's okay... I was going over to Ali to apologize to her for that bite... and she said I could sleep here for the night."

'understood" Littledfoot said. "I'm taking it Ali forgave you?'

"Very much so" Chomper said. "Ali? Can you tell him that you forgave me, just to back me up?"

Waking, Ali Nodded. " I forgive him Littlefoot.. Now we just have to get the others to do the same.

"Yes. We need to do that." Littlefoot told Ali. "Come on, let's go find the others."

Zoning on who to approach first was a problem..

"Ali, who do you think we should go to first?" Chomper asked.

Better try Ducky.. I don't yhink Cera wiil be a good choice..' Ali replied

"Cera is still mad... as she often is..." Littlefoot added.

Eventually, the three young dinosaurs made their way to Ducky's nest.

For once, they were in luck. Everyone was asleep..

Going up to Ducky, Chomper was very quiet... but one of his clawed toes accidentally stepped on Spike's tail.

Hurting, Spike let out a low moan..

"I didn't mean to do that!" Chomper thought, realizing that this was defeating the purpose of his mission.

Just leave this to me, chomper!"
Ali said.. "You're making things worse

"Kicking Cera was a mistake, and stepping on Spike makes it worse" Littlefoot said. "Just take a few steps back, and we can fix this..."

littlefoot is right.. " ali nodded. ' Just let us handle this.."

"My teeth and claws are dangerous" Chomper said "I'll step back." He looked down at the claws on his foot, an angrily dug them into the soft Earth, hoping to hide them, as if keeping them out of sight would make them just... go away.

"Ohhh..." Chomper sighed. He pulled his clawed toes on of the earth.

Oetrie and the others will forgive you chomper.. Its cEra we need to worry about..' Littlefoot said.

Quizzically, Chomper asked "What if I am too much of a threat to be allowed to stay? What if I cannot control myself?"

"Right now, we can't worry about that." Littlefoot told him. "We just need to show everyone that you're different, and that won't be easy to prove, especially with Cera and her Dad."

"Sharpteeth are more than just... different" Chomper said. "We are also dangerous." He looked at his clawed fingers now... then felt his fangs with his tongue... why did things have to be this way?

That is true, but you can try and keep yourself from being a danger to us" Ali said

"Unless I stop eating meat, I am a threat..." Chomper said. "Look at my fangs, look at my claws! I was made to... kill and eat dinosaurs."

Very true' littlefoot shook his head.

"Why?! Why does it have to be like this?!" Chomper yelled, jumping up and down, his predatory aggression clearly showing.

Your guess is as good as mine.." Ali replied. ' And calm down, you'll wake everyone up.."

"ZZZZ" was the noise that could be heard if one listened carefully in the valley at that moment. Chomper was lucky that most of the dinosaurs were heavy sleepers... it was hard enough for them to move their overfed bodies around in the day... their fat, succulent... Chomper snapped himself out of it.

At least keep your mind on what we're doing " Ali said to him.

"But I think I'm getting hungry." Chomer said looking at Ali. "Maybe I should go and find some crawlers, buzzers, or snapping shells to eat."

"Crawlers? I think I saw some on the way here." Ali told Chomper.

"Do hurry. Maybe we can eat some together." Chomper said and looked in the direction Ali meant. "Can you show me?" He asked.

"East! It's to the east!" Ali said to Chomper.

"Far out." Chomper said and ran off to get some crawlers to eat.

Going to get the insects, Chomper ran over to the place that Ali had told him to look.

Hungrily he ate the crawlers he found. He turned to Ali after a bit and held some in his hand. "Do you want some too, they are really tasty, thanks for telling me about these." He said.

"I cannot eat that kind of food" Ali replied "But thanks for the offer!"

"Just so you know, the offer is open if you change your mind." Chomper said before he went back to eating crawlers till he had his full.

"Kummph!" Chomper said as he ate yet another mouthful of worms.

Lots of insects were able to satisfy Chomper's appetite. "Yummy," he smiled, rubbing his belly.

"mmmm, those were tasty." Chomper said.

Never before had Ali or any other dinosaur see Chomper eat so quickly...

Overhead a ways Petrie & Guido were flying around, seeing where their friends were and what they were up to. Guido saw Chomper and guessed what he was eating, thought to himself he'd have to remember that spot where Chomper was to come back when he was hungry.

Petrie and Guido landed next to Chomper, where they asked him how things were going.

Quickly Chomper finished eating, he was pretty full anyway. He smiled when he saw Petrie and Guido. "Things are going great with me, and how about with you guys?" he asked.

Right at that moment, Cera's father arrived, and was not at all happy to see Chomper. Tria was behind him, trying to calm him down, but failing miserably at it.

Saro was listening to one of Grandpa Longneck's stories with some of the others of the gang.

Terribly mad at Chomper for his recent actions, Topsy approached the young Tyrannosaurus. "Sharptooth, what are you still doing in the valley?" He said to Chomper.

"Uh... well... um..." Chomper began, feeling scared.
-
Very angry, Topsy said "You are a threat to my children, and the children of the whole valley, and when you grow up, you will threaten the adults too!"
-
"When will you finally get it through your thick head that Chomper is not like other sharpteeth, Topsy Threehorn?!" Tria snapped at him. Mr. Threehorn looked at Tria in a surprised manner.
"But, Tria..." he began.
"I don't want to hear your sorry excuses! Chomper has never harmed Tricia, Cera, and her friends in the least bit! He is a nice little guy to have around! If there's anyone who needs to knock their nonsense off, it's you!" Tria yelled at him. All Mr. Threehorn could do was shut up and look down in embarrassment. He knew his mate was right.

"Xactly when do you tell me how to run things in the valley?!" Topsy said to Tria. "I was handling things long before you ever set foot in here! I know that you don't have my duties, but as a leader in the Great Valley, I need to be responsible for everyone's safety, including YOURS, Tria! What happens when Chomper grows up? He will need to eat whole dinosaurs! He could eat our daughter! He could eat you!"
Of course, being wrong never stopped Topsy before. He was still angry. He had harsh words for his wife, and didn't get the words quite right. Tria backed down. She was insistent, and believed that she was right... but knew better than to risk a confrontation now. She knew that he would not back down...
Besides, the thought of Tricia being eaten scared her too.

"Yes. I suppose you are right, Mr. Threehorn. It would not make sense for me to remain in the valley, even though the ones I care about and vowed I would NEVER harm are all there. Besides, after what I've just seen and heard, I don't feel comfortable being in the valley any longer. Very well, then. Farewell, friends," Chomper said as he turned to leave. He then looked back at Mr. Threehorn.
"By the way, don't waste your breath apologizing to me. I'm not the one that deserves it, but somebody else does," Chomper said just before he gestured to a crying Tria.

"ZZZZ" could be heard in the valley that night. Topsy and Tria were still fighting over what had just happened, but neither side was willing to budge.
"Tria, I could never live with myself if Cera or Tricia were to be eaten by Chomper, and that I was the one who had allowed him to live in the valley and get close to them. I also don't know what I'd do if a hungry sharptooth ever ate you." He said to his mate.

"Are you sure that's the only reason you don't want Chomper around, or is your racist side coming out again? From what Cera has told me, you did not even want her playing with other dinosaurs who are not threehorns. Have they harmed her? Of course not. They're a close bunch of kids, and...oh, forget it. There's no use continuing an argument that is not going anywhere. In fact, I don't even know why I'm talking to you after how you spoke to me. I'm just downright stupid, I guess. I don't even know what you see in me," Tria replied.

"Because I want to keep my children safe" Topsy said. "As for you, Tria, I see in you a loving mother, and beautiful mate, and an excellent companion. There is no other female in the whole valley... or the whole world that I would rather have as a consort... you really are beautiful... and, like our children you need to be protected." Tria was indeed the alpha female among the Triceratopses of the valley, as the mate of the alpha male.

Cautiously, Tria looked around the valley and saw everyone was asleep, which she found fortunate, as she wanted to keep the next part of the conversation with her mate private.
She sighed. "What about the one you were with when Cera was born? How do you compare her to me?" She asked him.

"During my time with her, I had several children... but only Cera survived..." Topsy said. "You are far more beautiful than she ever was... and you are kinder as well." Topsy's first mate had a skin color that was similar to his, but Tria was colored an attractive shade of pink... Tria certainly was more noticeably feminine, that was for sure.

Even so, you acted like an arrogant punk! an abrasive jerk! To me, and to chomper! Chomper can leave you, I can't, not without harming cera and TRicia.."

"For the good of the valley, Chomper had to leave; even he said so himself. Tria, look, I know it is hard, but it was all for the best... it will all work out in the long run..." Topsy responded to his mate. "Besides, Chomper will be happier in the mysterious beyond... he won't get in trouble for eating leaf-eaters there..."

Gee. who made that decison? You did Topsy! A decison ;like that that should be up to the council, not just your whims!" Tria replied.. "You're sleeping by yourself tonight.. and for the next few nights as well!"

"Have it your way, Tria. I am used to that... you are only punishing yourself. I've slept alone for years before I met you... if anything, this will hurt you, though. Remember, I'm the one with the prestige around here... separating from me will result in YOU losing status, not me, even if it is temporary. There will inevitably be rumors of you losing your position as alpha female among the threehorns if you are seen sleeping apart from me." Topsy replied. "Besides, Cera isn't with you... she's MY daughter, not yours."

"I will, then." Tria said. "I'll... you'll see me again later, Topsy. Hopefully, by then, you will have thought about what you have said and will let poor Chomper back in..."
Tria then got up and walked a good distance before lying down for the night. Tricia was with her, but Cera obviously was not.

Just then, Cera got up. She had not been able to sleep, consequently hearing the conversation. She quietly walked over to Tria, but not too quiet for Tria to notice her.
"Well, hello Cera. What are you doing up so late?" Tria asked.
"I can't sleep. Tria, I need to talk to you," Cera whispered.
"What is it, little one?" Tria asked as Cera nestled down next to her.
"It's about the talk you had with Daddy. I heard the whole thing."
"Cera, I'm sorry if he said anything about your mother that offended you."
"That's not the part I'm talking about. It's about Chomper. Tria, I know you mean well, and Chomper has always been a good friend. However, it is inevitable that he will have to leave to valley. My friends and I all know that, and so does Chomper."
"I'm only trying to look out for you, Cera."
"The only looking out you need to do is to make sure our family is not torn apart. To be honest, I don't give a rotten treesweet if I'm your daughter or not. I still care about you, and Tricia means a lot to me. If I were to lose her because of some stupid argument, I would flip. I've already lost my mother and sisters. I can't handle losing another sister. Despite what he said, Tricia is HIS daughter just as she is yours. I mean, you two had her. I'll never forgive him if he even tries to reject Tricia. Or if he rejects you," Cera said.
"I'm glad to hear that, sweetie, but Chomper..."
"Is going to be better off outside of the valley," Cera interrupted. "It's for the good of all of us. Please, Tria. A broken family is the last thing I need to deal with, and I know what it's like to not have one parent with me. I don't want Tricia to go through the same ordeal. It really stinks. Just be patient with Daddy. He has his moments, but I know he still loves you. Just be patient."

Krak-koom! It was starting to thunder and rain.
"Tria! Where are you? It isn't good to be out in this rain at night" Topsy said.
He was looking for her for some time. Topsy cared about her enough to go look for her in the approaching storm, even though it meant that he would get wet as well. He hadn't noticed Cera missing, so he was somewhat surprised to find his eldest daughter with Tria.

"Listen to me, Tria!" Topsy said. "I know that we have disagreements over some things, but we can overcome those, I am sure. For now, let's all just get some shelter from this rain. I think we can all agree on that."

"Must get out of this rain, little ones," Tria said to the two sisters before she guided them over to Mr. Threehorn. As they took cover, Cera kept Tricia close to her. She had never felt more fear of possibly losing her sister than she did at that moment.

"No need to worry" Topsy said, guiding the three females of his family to a cave. "You will be safe from the sky-water in here." For all his unfairness towards Chomper, Topsy really did care about his family... and Tria could see that. After all, Topsy had thrown himself in front of those fast-biters that one time... during the treesweet fiasco... that was before Tricia was hatched.

On and on the rain continued, and the family of threehorns huddled together in the cave. This wasn't the family togetherness that Tria and Topsy had really thought about when they decided to become mates, but it worked all the same.

Preparing herself for the worst, Cera gathered up enough nerve to ask her father a question as she remained close to Tricia.
"Daddy?" Cera whispered.
"What is it, Cera?" Mr. Threehorn replied.
"Is...are Tricia and I going to be separated forever?" she asked more loudly that time before she held her breath. She could feel herself about to cry but wanted to be strong for her little sister.

Questions... it was a tough one, but Topsy didn't think that Tria would leave him... not over this...
"Tria? I have no desire to see our family broken up. Do you want to stay, or go, and if you go, will you return after a few nights? It would be... well... rather silly for the alpha threehorn family to be broken up over this... we have our daughters to think about, and I really still love you..." Topsy said.

Realizing her place was with her family, and that she loved her husband very much, Tria could not help but come up with one answer.
"I know it. I love you, too, and the little ones need both of us around. It was stupid of me to even think about ruining all of our lives over an argument. That being said, I'm not going anywhere without my family, and that includes you," she said as she looked at her husband.

Satisfied with her answer, Topsy nuzzled Tria. It was a rare display of affection on his part, but if there was ever a time to show it, it was now. "Thank you Tria. It was the right decision."

Tricia yawned deeply, interrupting Cera's look of gratitude.
"I wonder how wet our home is," Cera said as she looked toward the entrance of the cave.

Under the cave, it was hard to tell how wet it was... but in the morning, the four threehorns got out and took a look.
Tria stepped in some mud where some longneck tracks had been... it was really a wet night, that was for sure... and this wasn't the nice, warm mud she enjoyed so much...

Very wet... that was the scene...
"Dad! How long is it going to be before we get to our nest? This mud is really icky and it is getting between my toes!" Cera said.
"Not much longer Cera" Topsy replied.
Tricia, by contrast, was having a wonderful time splashing around in the puddles...

(Sorry for posting so much, I just want to avoid having to make another "q" entry. I'll cap it at 3 in a row for now...)
"We're here!" Topsy said as they reached their nest. They had been walking for quite some time... the valley was quite large, and they had to take the long way around, as the rain had swollen the main river in the valley, forcing them to cross it at its most shallow point... which mean that their trip was three times as long as it would normally be.
"Good thing too... my feet are killing me" Tria said. She wasn't used to this... "I have to go on long walks more... like when I was little... try to get used to it again, for times like these." The female threehorn lay down with a sigh of relief. "At least the grass is nice and soft." The family had been walking over a rough patch of sticks and rocks earlier. Topsy was tough enough to take it, and his daughters were small enough to be carried on their parent's backs over it, but Tria had no such luck... she had tried not to show too much pain when she was crossing over the rocks, not wanting to concern her mate and the children, but Topsy could see that she was in pain...
True to form, Topsy was not a sensitive individual. As the alpha male, he had a reputation to maintain... but now that he was essentially alone with his mate (Cera and Tricia were sleeping nearby, but not too close), he could speak more freely with her. "Tria, I'd like to see how bad it is... could you show me your feet?"

You mean my feet.. I suppose" Tria said, they had just reconciled..."Very well" She raised her foot showing the stractches and open cuts..

"Zounds! Tria, why didn't you tell me your feet were cut up so badly?" Topsy asked, showing concern.

"At least, you could have told us to go slower, or we could have taken a different route, if you had said it was too rough for you. As it is, I should get to work making you feel better, not go on about how you were hurt." Topsy said to his mate.

"But I did not want to be a pain in the tail. I did not want to slow us down," Tria replied.

"Come then, Tria; it doesn't matter if we had to go slower... I care about your well-being more than getting somewhere in time. I'll do my best to make you feel better. It's the least I can do for you after the argument we had. Now, which foot needs the most attention?"

"Dear, you're awfully kind to me after that argument. Well, it's my right front foot," Tria replied as she held up her sore foot for Mr. Threehorn to see.

Eager to please her, Topsy took a look at her foot. "I'll start by pulling out the sticks I see in it, then I'll see what I can do to work on the sole..." Topsy loved her, but was also worried about what would happen to his youngest daughter if they had separated... so he would be kinder to her for a while...

Finished with pulling out the sticks, Topsy took each toe of hers' on that foot and gently pulled on it with her mouth. This was meant to relieve tension down there. Other species had hands; Ducky's mother, for instance, could rub her own feet with her hands, but Threehorns had to have a mate do it for them, and then, they had to use their mouths...

"Goodness, that's a relief already," said Tria. "Hey, about that argument we had earlier. I'm very sorry for my part in it. I love you very much and would not want to jeopardize everything we have. I'm sorry."

Having heard this, Topsy spoke "I'm sorry too. Look, let's just put this behind us. There are... imperfections in how I've treated you, Tria... I will admit that." Topsy was right. He could sometimes be loud, arrogant, and unfair. He also pressured her to mate too often... especially when she was pregnant with Tricia. Still, he loved her indeed, and was the best protector and provider she could ask for... as well as a good father, for the most part.

In threehorn society, the alpha male was expected to not only be strong and in command, but he was expected to be virile as well... that is... the produce many offspring, especially sons. His desire to mate with Tria more than she wanted to was born out of this as much as anything else. He loved his daughters with all his heart, though... he didn't think any less of Cera or Tricia for not being boys... he just hoped for a son someday...

Just then, though, Tria was not very interested in mating with Topsy.. She loved him, true, but she would prefer it if Triciaas a little older before they added to the family..

Kids are a handful, and Tria had learned that quickly. She would not mind having more children, though, as Tricia had only been her first child. However, she had just gotten over getting knocked up and having Tricia, so she was not sure if she was ready to have a go at it for some time.

"Let me rub your foot, Tria" Topsy said, as he leaned over to rub his tongue along the sole of her foot. Topsy wanted to keep her relaxed. He had been insistent that Cera go with Tria to the mud pools that time because he wanted his mate to be relaxed; Tria was more susceptible to his advances when she was relaxed. He knew better than to ask her now... she could get mad when he asked too often...

Meanwhile, Tria was finding his taking care of her romantic. The fact that he loved her enough to nurse her when she was injured was very touching to her.

Nothing I say will keep you from asking me to let you make love to me.. will it" Tria looked at Topsy...

"Oh. Well... maybe later. I'm still giving you a rubdown." Topsy said, not wanting to press the subject.
Now, Topsy was working on her back feet. Once, he had done this to her to loosen her up... and he had mated with her afterwards... it had been some time since their last mating... but then again, they usually found time to do it at least once a week... although Tria sometimes didn't want to because she didn't want more children yet, she couldn't deny that she also desired some intimate time with her mate.

"Phew, that feels so much better. Thank you," Tria said.

"Question! Perhaps you would like me to walk on your back, Tria?" Topsy suggested. It wouldn't feel as good as mating would for her, but it did wonders for her sore body and tight muscles in any case.

"Really? That would feel good. My muscles are still pretty tense," she replied innocently.

Standing on his hind legs for a moment, Topsy put his feet on her back, and began to walk on it, gently rubbing it, and feeling for knots and kinks. She had quite a few.
"Tria? I'm sorry if I had been asking for... a lot of mating. We already do it once a week or so... and I don't want you to agree to it just because you feel like you have to satisfy me..." Normally, he was not so apologetic, but this was a sensitive time for them...

"Topsy, I think I understand how you feel. I mean, we have not mated since Tricia was born. That's an awfully long time, compared to what we're used to," Tria replied.

"Unless you count those times when we did it in the caves, you are correct. We have only done it once or twice a week since Tricia... That doesn't really count, though... I pull out before I finish..." Topsy said. It was almost a shame... the other males didn't know that he did that... they were wondering why he didn't have more children than he did... some say he was losing his potency with age... others said that Tria wasn't very fertile... but still, he respected his mate's wishes; she refused to mate at all unless he pulled out before putting his seed in her... at least, since Tricia was hatched.

"Very inappropriate topic to talk about around kids. Are you sure they can't hear us?" Tria asked as she glanced in the direction of Cera and Tricia.

"Why, they are asleep." Topsy walked over to where his daughters had curled up. They were far away enough to hear nothing, and they were totally exhausted from the trip and sleeping like babies. Literally, in Tricia's case.
"I understand that it can be a burden to carry an egg... although I can't carry one myself, I was mated to another female before we mated... with her and you it was similar... mood swings, worries about the egg once it is laid... concern for the new child..."

X-rated subjects should never reach the children's ears... none did, however. It had been a few months since Tricia was hatched... normally, a female threehorn would be mating much, much sooner... but this was partially due to pressure from the rest of the herd... which did not exist as much in the great valley, due to a more... relaxed outlook on life there. Still, for Topsy, there were more expectations... Tria had fewer.

"Yes, it can be a burden to carry an egg. However, I would not trade it for anything. In fact, I would not mind having more children," said Tria as Mr. Threehorn returned to working out the kinks in her back muscles.

ZZZ Cera and Tricia said, oblivious to the conversation.
"Tria, you don't need to do it to satisfy me." Topsy said, not that he would mind, of course... "I only want to do it when we both feel ready for it." That was only half-true. Topsy had pressured her to do it when it was obvious she was not ready for it, but he preferred to approach her for mating when she was ready and willing. He didn't want her to feel like she was being used for mating by him, though.

"Actually, I was being selfish and not thinking about your needs. See, I'm afraid to have children so close to the same age. Then again, I'm not a very experienced parent, so it's probably not as bad as I think it is. Besides, Cera had told me she had three sisters born at the same time as her. I'm sure her mother was busy," said Tria.

"But, what about your needs, Tria? I know that threehorn females sometimes have less... 'need' than males... some kinds have females with a lot more 'need'... like sharpteeth, I think."
Truth be told, Topsy had sometimes resorted to rubbing himself on rocks to find relief in the past months... but he didn't let his wife know... until she had caught him in the act once... He had caught Tria in a similar situation... she really didn't want to have more kids yet, but wanted some satisfaction anyway... he had never told Tria that he had seen her doing it... and she had never told him that she saw him either.
Now, she said she wanted another child, but Topsy didn't know if she was being truthful or not...

"Can you tell me if you're being honest?" Mr. Threehorn asked.
"Of course I'm being honest. Why would I lie about something as important as having children? You're my soulmate. I would not lie to you," Tria replied.

Definitely, she was telling the truth... Tria did not lie to him. "Our matings... did they make you feel good?" He hadn't really asked her before, but he knew that she would tell him the truth. Topsy was afraid that she didn't mate with him often because she didn't enjoy it enough... he had enjoyed them.

"Every time. There's no other male I'd rather be with than you," said Tria.

Finally, Tria walked away from Topsy, she was thristy, and headed over to get a drink of water.

Going over to her, he spoke. He also drank some water.
"For months, we haven't really mated." Topsy said. "I want to ask... do you really want it less than I do? It could be that, or maybe you want it as much or more than I, but you want to avoid getting pregnant even more..."

"Even males know pregnancy can be quite tiresome. We tend to tell them about it. However, nature has its course. Just because we do it does not mean I'll automatically get pregnant. That's a silly thought on my part," Tria replied.

In due time, Topsy. I 'm still not fully recovered from having TRicia. Once She reached a year in age, then we cab resume 'activities', a couple more months Topsy, thats all..

(what happened to alphabetical order?! And it's been months... how could she NOT recover? A multi-TON dinosaur laying an egg which weighs a few POUNDS! It is probably more difficult for Tria to excrete! And that was months ago! She is totally recovered in like no time!)
"Just what are you saying?" Topsy asked, surprised at the contradictory statements. She was probably conflicted. One moment, she want to mate, the next moment, she doesn't?

(Go ask any mother what going through a pregnancy is like, the child is often only a few pounds, but it takes awhile to recover, emotionally, if not physically.. in this case, with Tria, its emotionally)

(A human child is much, much larger in proportion to the mother than a Triceratops... and Tria didn't even give birth; she laid an egg which hatched later. It won't take months... unless she has emotional dysfunctions.)
Leaning over, Topsy licked Tria and nuzzled her. Her doubts about mating began to evaporate.

Nuzzling continued for some time. Tria's feet were still sore, but they were no longer in serious pain, thanks to Topsy.

Obviously, Tria was becoming less uptight about mating. She then snuggled against Mr. Threehorn as they continued to nuzzle.

Proceeding quickly, TRia felt Topsy, climb on her, and assuume the mating position..

"Understood. However, you're making me feel comfortable right now. The best I've felt in awhile, actually. I think I'm ready to move on and start our intimacy again," Tria replied.

"Very well" Topsy said, eager to begin. He positioned himself, then started.

"Wow wee, I have not felt this way in so long," said Tria.

ZZZZ. Topsy had fallen asleep next to his mate. It was a long day for him...

After that, Tria fell asleep quickly against her mate..

Being able to mate again had pleased both of them very much. Mr. Threehorn briefly woke up and gently nuzzled Tria's head.
"I love you, sweetie," he whispered in her ear before he returned to a deep sleep.

Come morning, Topsy woke before his mate and nuzzled her again, and decided to get her some food for when she woke up. But first, he checked on his daughters... still asleep. Topsy resolved to never let a mating go incomplete again...

Daylight crept in, and Tria woke up to find a whole pile of food in front of her. Nuzzling Topsy, the mated pair took care of their daughters. In an hour, Cera ran off to play with Littlefoot, and Tricia ran along with them, as Cera had insisted that they play together, just like that time when those rains occurred.

Eventually, Topsy and Tria found themselves alone, able to speak freely again. They still needed to reflect on recent events.

Finally, Topsy spoke... it had to do with the 'pleasure rocks'... "So Tria... how long have you been using those rocks to get some... relief? I admit that I was using them for months."
"I... admit that I've been using them too... and that... I think we have spied on each other as we used them." Tria replied.

"Goodness. To be honest, I've been using them for a long time. See, I've never been, well, with any other male before, and I was beginning to despair ever being able to experience mating. There's something I don't usually tell anyone, but you have the right to know. Years back, I was interested in a male. However, when I finally told him my feelings, he said I was ugly and wondered who would ever want to be mates with me. It really hurt to hear that, and since then, I never let any male come into my life. Not until I met you. There's just something about you that makes me feel like the most beautfiul female in the world," explained Tria.

"How could any male not find you beautiful?" Topsy said. "You are very attractive in every sense of the word... oh. I think I know... It isn't your beauty... it is your will." Tria was unusual among threehorns in that she had the will and the nerve to resist mating advances on most occassion. Most males wanted to mate with her more often than she would have enjoyed, and Tria had a penchant for "controlling" Topsy on occasion by means of mating... if he was mean to her, she would not mate with him, and that would make him change his behavior, to an extent... most males did not like females who could do that.

"I don't know why, either. As for my willingness to mate, I was not about to just let any male take advantage of me. I'm much more than some easy female a male can just mate with at his leisure. I expect to be respected," said Tria.

"Just as I thought" Topsy said. "Still, even I admit, you are highly desirable for a mate... you are easily the most attractive threehorn in the valley... you sometimes use mating or denying me mating to make me do certain things..." Most female threehorns couldn't do that; but Tria was so attractive, she could use her wiles to bend Topsy on occasion.

"Kids are a products of mating, but there are other sides to it than that." Tria said. "I knew from a fairly young age that I was attractive, and that some males might try to take advantage of me for that. Many of them would have had no interest in forming a lasting bond with me, nor would they care for any children we would make..."
"So, you held yourself until you found someone who would... and that was me." Topsy said. "Tell me, Tria... did I ever make you feel... uncomfortable when I insisted on mating when you didn't want to?" She had slapped him with her tail a couple of times...

Listening to her mate, Tria considered her answer carefully before speaking...

"Mmm...Well, I only felt uncomfortable right after having Tricia. See, I've never had a baby as you well know, and I was not sure how long it would take me to...you know...recover there. I thought I'd be in pain if we mated right away, but as I have now discovered, it does not hurt at all. In fact, you're pretty good," Tria replied.

"Not quite like that, Tria... I mean... although I pulled out before planting my seed in you since Tricia was hatched, you still felt it in you. I was talking about the times you gave me a slap using your tail..." Topsy said. "But thank you for saying how good it was... hehe."

Oh, well, I happen to be a naughty girl with you...hehe. I do admit, though, I'm too tired at times to mate. Watching over Tricia can be quite tiresome, but now that she plays with Cera and her friends during the day, we can have more...alone time," Tria purred.

"Pleasing you was not always my top priority, I must confess" Topsy said. "There were times when I was more concerned with simply planting my seed swiftly and then sleeping afterwards, even if you were still unsatisfied..."

"Quite ironically, I don't hold that against you. My love for you far outweighs my capacity to hold you in contempt of such a thing. I understand, dear, because I know that you still love me and that you'd never do anything to cause me great harm. I love you," Tria said before she nuzzled her mate.

"Right you are, dear." Topsy said, nuzzling her in return. "I suppose that I should be more responsive to your needs for pleasure... of the non-mating kind, that is... if there is anything that I can do for you on a regular basis, let me know..."

"Stay as you are, Topsy. You're a great mate and a wonderful father...no matter what anyone else says about you," Tria replied.

"Than I shall do just that... I am sorry if I can seem a bit... tightly wound at time." While he was never very "loose", living with Tria presented its own opportunities and problems. On one hand, having a mate around can be very relaxing... especially when they consummated their mating. On the other hand, having Tria's female pheromones around all day made Topsy more excited than he had been in years, and if they did not mate on a regular basis, he could get rather... tense.

Ushering, Tria led Topsy to a spot where they could be alone and be intimate with one another.

Very sad at what had happened with Chomper, Ducky went to Spike. Although he could not really answer her, she could talk to him about how she felt.

Why did she talk to Spike? Being unable to talk much himself, Spike was a good listener. Although he could not give articulate responses, he could give simple "yes" and "no" type answers through his gesturing and vocalizations... he also understood Ducky like almost no one else.

At the same time, Cera was trying to comfort Littlefoot.
"He'll be fine, Littlefoot, and I'm sure we'll be reunited with him someday. I know he would never hurt us. Look on the bright side. At least we still have each other, along with the others. He will be missed, but he'll always be a friend to us. Don't be sad," said Cera before she embraced Littlefoot. Although she could be gruff, she knew Littlefoot needed compassion and support at the time.

Before long, it was getting dark, and the children had to return to their nests...

Cera rushed up to her parents..

"Dear, what is the matter?" Tria asked. Topsy was right behind her. He looked concerned for his daughter, not mad...

"Ehm, I did not want to be late," Cera replied.

"Fortunately Cera, you aren't." Topsy said to his eldest daughter. "Now, did you eat dinner yet? Tria and I are going to get something to eat."

"Good, because I have not eaten yet," replied Cera.

"Here, have some of these juicy treestars, Cera" Tria said.

"I would not mind if I do," said Cera before she ate some treestars. "Mmmm, they're good! Thanks."

"Just leave some for your sister" Topsy said. He walked away from Cera and towards Tricia, who was chasing her own tail again. He smiled. He then looked at Tria, his beautiful mate...

just in time for bed too. After you eat, then its time for you to go to bed Cera' Tria said. "No arguing.."

"Keep in mind I don't argue with you. I respect you, especially since we became closer," Cera said.

Lately, that has been the case, Not so at first, I think it was because of your mother's memory.." Tria replied.

"Much as I love you, I still get sad about my mother at times. It's just not fair that she died," Cera choked.

"No worries. I'll watch over you" Tria said, nuzzling Cera.

"Of course she will, and I'll always be here for you as well," added Mr. Threehorn as he also nuzzled Cera.

Pleased with this, Cera had an easier time falling asleep, feeling secure that she had someone other than her father to "worry about her." Tricia was soon asleep as well.

Quickly falling asleep, Cera was awakened almost as quickly by small crying noises. She looked at Tricia, who was near her. Tricia appeared to be having a scary sleepstory. Cera moved in, snuggled her little sister, and nuzzled her. Sure enough, Tricia stopped crying and slept more peacefully. So did Cera.

Resting on her side, Tria was tired indeed. Topsy lay down next to her.
The same happened with Littlefoot's grandparents in the middle of the valley.

Still, try as he might, Littlefoot was restless that night. Even though Ali sleeping next to him the last few nights was a good comfort, it wasn't enough for tonight.
He was greatly worried about his sharptooth friend. He knew that Chomper deserved another chance to stay in the valley. So, with his mind made up, he silently set out, not once disturbing his grandparents, and set out to find Chomper.
Little did he know that Ali noticed his leaving and secretly followed him.

That night, the two longnecks sneaked out of the valley... but Littlefoot did not know he was being followed... for now.

Unless he was lost somewhere in the valley, Littlefoot was lost! His grandparents knew it. They searched for him all over the place. They asked his friends where he was, and they even resolved to leave the valley themselves to search for him... but the knew why he had likely left... to find Chomper...

Very worried, Littlefoot's grandparents called an emergency meeting at the stone arch to discuss their missing grandchild situation...

While the adults were discussing over what to do, Cera had gathered the rest of the gang and they set off to find Littlefoot and Ali, without telling the grown-ups.

"You are telling me that it is MY fault that your grandson is missing, Longneck?!" Topsy shouted.
"You banished Chomper from the valley" Littlefoot's grandfather said. "It isn't blame so much as fact! I'll bet that he and Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, and Ruby are all looking for him now..."
"WHAT?! Cera? Now she's- This is all YOUR fault, Longneck! My eldest daughter is gone, following after your grandson!" Topsy roared.
"Topsy, Calm down" Tria implored, nuzzling him to no effect.
"We've got to find them!" Littlefoot's Grandfather said. "It doesn't matter whose to blame!"

Zipping through the rocks, Littlefoot frantically ran through the mysterious beyond, hoping to find Chomper, or his footmarks to follow him. "Come on, how many small three-toed footmarks could there be?" Littlefoot thought.

"And just so you know, Littlefoot has NEVER put Cera in harm's way! He has always made sure she and the others come home safe! I don't know why you don't get it yet! Cera cares about her friends and would do ANYTHING for them! At least she has a heart and cares about more than just her needs! What you're saying about my grandson is ludicrous, and I don't want to hear another word of it! Sometimes, I believe they are smarter than us, and now, after hearing this nonsense, I feel it's true! So, quit blaming and swallow your pride for a change!" Grandma Longneck screamed at Mr. Threehorn. Mr. Threehorn was shocked, for Grandma Longneck had never lost it before. Much as he hated to admit it, Mr. Threehorn knew she was right. Cera was growing up, and he knew he would not be able to try to deter her from her beliefs much longer. He felt embarrassed as the other adults gasped at Grandma Longneck telling him off.

"Because you are larger, you think you can tell the rest of us what to do!" Topsy retorted. "Your grandson may get the rest of the kids back alive, but he is the one who puts them in danger to begin with! What do you say to that, Longneck?!"

"Cause they have minds of their own and have the freedom of whether or not to follow! Unlike certain dinosaurs, they care more about each other than their lives! Some, like yourself, could really take a lesson or two from your daughter and her friends!" Grandpa Longneck shouted.

Defeated, Topsy finally backed down... he said nothing, but shot a nasty glare at Littlefoot's grandfather. Only Tria comforted him during this moment of insult and public loss of stature.

Every time Littlefoot thought he was on Chomper's trail, the trail would go cold... this was getting annoying...

" Focus, we can't give up lIttlefoot" Ali said , nuzzling him, to cheer him on. ' We'll find him.."

Greatly surprised, Littlefoot turned to see Ali! "Ali! What are you doing here?"
Meanwhile, back in the valley, Topsy was still fuming over his humiliation at the valley meeting.

honestly? I followed you.. Its not safe foor you to be alone.. at least with me you'll have company.. " Ali smiled sweetly.

"I know Ali... I enjoy your company... It isn't safe for you either. I don't want to risk us both." Littlefoot said.

Just so you know, its a litttle late for that. I'm coming with you.. I wouldn't be a much of a girlfriend, if I left you all alone like this" She smiled as Littlefoot blushed. "Cera's called me your "Girlfriend" for awhile now, although i don't think it meant nicely.."

Kids though they were, Littlefoot and Ali still felt much for each other...

Littlefoot smiled at Ali. " Thanks Ali, its means a lot to have you with me.." It was just them that cera broke into the clearing, breathing hard..

"My goodness! What's wrong, Cera?" Littlefoot asked out of concern.

"Never saw so many fast-biters in my life! They're headed this way!" Cera yelled.

OY! We'd better get moving! Anyone else with you? Ali said..

Petrie then flew overhead "Guys, keep running! There a fork in the path Take the right one!"

Questioning to herself why they always ended up in peril during their adventures, Cera panted, "Can't we for once have an adventure without any trouble?!"

"Right path, Right path! Left goes off cliff!" Petrie shouted to the gang, desperately gesturing to the right.

Screaming with fear, the kids took the right path. Some of the fast-biters followed them, others, who didn't see them take the right path, took the left fork .

The kids made it back to the valley... without finding Chomper... they were lucky to have avoided the fast-biters... but they were not lucky enough to avoid the wrath of their parents... :blink:
Except for Cera. Her father was still arguing with Littlefoot's Grandfather about whose fault it was that the children had gone missing in the first place.

"Topsy, quit arguing!" Tria said to him. "I've tried to be nice, but you aren't listening to me! Cera is already safe! She's right here, next to us! Just let it go!"

"If Cera's here with you, where's Littlefoot?" Grandpa Longneck asked.

"Where IS he?" Cera asked...
"Here I am!" Littlefoot yelled as he jumped out of a bush he was hiding in.
Topsy and Tria headed off to their next with Cera and Tricia.

Xasperated with her father's argumentative attitude, along with having escaped sharpteeth once more, Cera fell asleep as soon as she curled up in her sleeping spot.

"You awake, Tria?" Topsy asked.
"I am now, Topsy" she said. "Why did you wake me? What's up?" Although she had a feeling of what he was going to ask for...

"ZZZZZZZ" was all that could be heard coming from Cera and Tricia.

"Are you feeling up for some-" Topsy said to his mate...

"Betcha I am, stud," Tria giggled in a naughty fashion.

Careful not to spoil her good mood, Topsy approached Tria. He got close to her and she gave him a slap with her tail!
"Oww. What was that for?" he asked.
"That was for your argument with old Mr. Longneck today! You shouted at him for half of the afternoon, and all the time I tried to stop you was wasted. Did you listen to me for a second? No! I've never been so embarrassed before! You really think I wanna mate tonight? That whole 'stud' thing was just to get you over here."

"D'oh! You sure know how to make me feel like an idiot," Mr. Threehorn replied.

Even though Tria was not willing to do it, Topsy insisted. "Come on, Tria... you know how it is... it was a long day... it would be nice to relax..."
"Look Topsy. I've agreed to mate with you more often, but not every night. I would have done it if you didn't cause such a scene today... as it is, we still probably cannot mate as often as we did before Tricia was born..."
Mating too often could be a burden for Tria... being a female and a new mother, it wasn't as "urgent" for her, but Topsy... he could have been slapped with all the pressure he put on her... and was slapped, in fact.
He continued on... "You know how I get around you... when you don't mate with me for long enough, I get... jumpy."

First of all, this was sort of true; adult male threehorns did get rather anxious to mate when around fertile female threehorns. The females emitted pheremones, which in turn made hormones turn on in the males. Topsy had not mated for a long time after the death of Cera's mother, so he was more than eager to "make up for lost time" with Tria...
Second of all, Topsy needed to think of her more...

"Fine, then. I think I know what you mean. To be honest, it drives me crazy when you're not around or whenever we fight," Tria replied.

Good for her: Tria still had an advantage over Topsy; she could use mating to get him to do certain things, and the threat of not mating with him was often enough to get Topsy to give in... of course, on certain days, she just let him stay aroused and jumpy... she didn't want to let his hormones be an excuse for mating whenever he wanted it... she had her own feelings to consider.
She really didn't like it when he only thought of his own urges, and mated in such a way to release himself quickly but to leave her feeling used and unsatisfied...

going some distance away from Topsy, Tria composed herself. It was rare for a female threehorn to slap a male.,, still rarer to slap an alpha male, but Topsy had it coming..

Hearing her words, Topsy followed his mate, but stopped when she shot him a mean look. Clearly, she did not want to sleep with him tonight...

"I really don't want to sleep by myself. It gets cold and lonesome," Mr. Threehorn thought to himself.

"Just stay there, Topsy. No mating for you, tonight..." Tria said, as she put her head down to sleep.
Topsy waited until Tria was asleep... he still wanted to sleep with her, even if there was no mating...

Kidding himself to an extent, Topsy approached Tria, thinking that she would not mind if he just lay down next to her...
...big mistake.

Little did Mr. Threehorn know what he was getting himself into when he got close to Tria.
CRACK!
Mr. Threehorn saw stars as he painfully moved his right jaw. Tria had really whacked him hard that time.

Moving back, Topsy had not expected that. He didn't wish to fight his mate...he loved her, but would not tolerate an attack on himself. He had been hit by her tail, so he struck her back with his... Tria went down, hurt more than he was, but this still stopped short of abuse; he HAD acted in self defense... Tria, though not unconscious, decided just to stay down. Topsy lay down next to her, and hoped that in the morning, this whole little slapping incident would be forgotten...

Never before had he realized how much Tria could hold a grudge...

Only because he pressured her did she act like this; normally, Tria was full of kindness and warmth towards her mate... but she had a nasty side when she was pissed... the female Triceratops woke up the next morning to find her mate sleeping on his left side...
Part of her didn't want to do it... but, it would probably keep Topsy from pressuring her to mate that night. While he was still asleep, Tria turned around, positioning her back feet towards Topsy, perpendicular to the space between his back legs... then she kicked him as hard as she could... right where she wanted to...

Pissed as she was, Tria could not help but notice how bad her head ached that morning. As her mate cried out in pain, she went over to some nearby bushes that contained what were known as "Pain Berries" (something like Tylenol in the human world) and began to eat some of the berries. She would need a good number of them to eradicate her terrible headache.

Questioning what the screaming was about, Cera went to see what had happened... she saw her dad lying on the ground, in pain, but noticed what Tria had probably done... this was the third time this had ever happened... Cera knew that he was in no serious danger, and she left Tria and her dad to work it out...
Tria was not as strong as Topsy, but she had surprisingly strong legs and feet...

"Rrrrrr, can't those two act their age? And they tell ME to not act like a baby," Cera nagged to Tricia as she returned to Tricia and curled up next to her. Tricia giggled just before the two went back to sleep.

Sharp pain was the only phrase which could describe it... to be fair, Topsy had kicked his mate in her similar area once before... but he apologized for that profusely, many times... he had gotten mad at her when she spoke out against him at a meeting of other threehorns... in the end, they had both agreed that they had screwed that incident up...
Tria, having eaten her little medicine, walked over to Topsy, who was still lying on the ground, now on his back. She stood over his tail and put her front right foot on his "male part"...

"Tria...what in the world? Have you gone mad?" Mr. Threehorn grunted in pain.

"Understand this, Topsy, you act all high and mighty, and, you are indeed stronger than I am..." She said, apply some pressure to his male parts, but not enough to cause additional pain... "However, this little incident should remind you that you are not invulnerable..."
Strong though Topsy was, Tria had him in a position which he could not defend himself... she would not cause any serious injury, knowing that she would get into serious trouble if she did...and she still loved her mate... despite her current anger and frustration with him.

"Very well then, Tricia. Let's go eat," whispered Cera as she guided her baby sister away from the nest. Cera did not like what was going on and did not want Tricia to see any possible fighting happen.

"Well, Topsy, I trust you know that I have needs too." Tria said, starting a rant...
"I acknowledge that you have stronger mating urges than I do, and I will work with you so that we are both satisfied... even if it means that I will mate more often than I otherwise would... but you have to understand that I have needs of my own... emotional as well as physical... I don't like being treated like an object which exists just to satisfy you... just as I know that you are not an object who only exists to satisfy me... I have treated you well most of the time, but you have not always reciprocated... and when that happens, I get very pissed... and when I get angry..." Tria applied more pressure over Topsy's male parts, enough to cause a sight amount of pain...
"Threehorn society holds you in higher standing for having these parts" Tria said, looking down at her mate's malehood. "My parts are even more fragile than yours, but they don't give me the same status..." she said, wishing that she could mate all she wanted and not get pregnant... "I know a lot about pleasure and pain, Topsy, and I'm sorry that I've had to resort to this in order to try and curve your behavior..."

"Xactly what are you doing here so early, and with Tricia?" asked Littlefoot, surprised to see the two sisters were already at the Gang's meeting place. Tricia was eating, but Cera was not too hungry at the time.
"Daddy and Tria had another fight of some sort. I think she even kicked him where it counts," said Cera, then making a painful expression.
"Ow! Yeah, that hurts. Well, if you want, we can hang out until the others get here," suggested Littlefoot.
"I'd like that. Besides, those two need space to sort out whatever is wrong," replied Cera.

"You understand me, don't you, Topsy?" Tria said to her mate.
She didn't like doing that to him... but she knew that there were few other defenses from him... and even fewer ways for her to hurt him. Tria knew that he loved her, but had heard one too many stories of angry threehorn males abusing their mates... she had to be prepared, just in case... as it was, she could never hope to beat him in combat...
Her parts were even more vulnerable, but there wasn't the same level of importance attached to her's in threehorn culture...

"Zoinks! That hurts! Yeah, yeah, I understand," Mr. Threehorn said in a painful tone.

"Always remember, Topsy, that I am the one who controls access to mating; you want it more than I do, so I have the advantage..." Tria said to her mate. "You are stronger than I am, but my female scent* and my charms can make you bend when I want you to..."

"Could I? Yes, but I won't. I still love you, Topsy... but... I still have to do what... I have to do..." Tria replied.

daunted by Tria's assertiveness, Topsy said nothing in reply. If she did leave, that would create a huge power vacuum, among the threehorns, and reflect very negatively on him as aplpha male,. While the chance of that happening were slim(they would work it out over time) still it gave him pause..

Even that wouldn't be enough to make Topsy change his mind...
Tria still kept her foot on his malehood, enjoying the feeling of power she had over him... quite the role-reversal. "Topsy, I know this sounds odd... but I cannot let your urges threaten our family... You need to develop some self-control. I'm not some weak female who just lies back and takes it just because you say so."

Fortunately for Ali, her mother had not beebn too bad with her, after she had explained herself. "Next time, tell me where you are going!" her mother scolded.

Going on and on, Tria explained how she felt...
"Is there a point to this?" Topsy asked. Tria increased the pressure on his malehood considerably, causing him to gasp and have a look of pain on his face.
"My point is, Topsy, that you make me feel so helpless sometimes... just like you are now... you don't know what it really feels like... until now."

Holding his tongue Topsy, grimaced, Tria had really raised the pressure on his "package" if it increased any more, it could set him back weeks in the mating department, and he really wanyted to mate..

"I want you to do this again with me, Topsy... regularly. If we are to mate again, we need to create a better environment for the children you will have by me... and you need to control your temper. Since you aren't willing to control it yourself, I will control it for you. We can mate as often as we ever did, but I will add a condition to it... that you experience this sort of helplessness once a week, so that you know how I feel for much of my life, especially when you sideline me from the herd, or speak for me, or pressure me to mate, or yell at me, or ignore me..." Tria said. "Specifically, I want you to lie down like you are now, I will put my foot where it is right now, and I will tell you how I feel. We shall do this once a week."

Just to be careful, Tria looked down at her mate's malehood. She had to admit that it was a fine specimin of threehorn masculinity... and one of the most valuable resources the family had... after all... those orbs of his HAD given her Tricia... She would not want to unnecessarily damage them...

Serious as the pain was, Topsy still said "No, I don't yield... and you can't keep me down forever... you will have to raise your foot eventually, and when you do..."

"You'll have to leave to eat or to relieve yourself before I give up!" Topsy said, defiantly. "And rest assured, there will be consequences for this..." he added

Enormusly painful as it was, Topsy did not relent, even with both of his mate's feet pressing down on him in a sensitive area. "No, Tria, I have won. I know that you are not going to damage my malehood, for if you did, you wouldn't make it out of here uninjured... and you love me too much to do that. Yes, my area will be sore for a while, but it is worth that price..."

Gritting his teeth agains the pain, Topsy realized something else... Tria's feet were touching his longer male piece, which was rising to meet the challenge. It may have been childish, but he could get her back with one clean shot from that part... luckily, males always beat females in that sort of contest... Topsy could even do it in the ground sparkles during the cold time...
It wouldn't hurt her, but it would distract her enough.

Topsy looked embarrased, as did a now literally pissed-off Tria. "Oh! Mr Longneck! She said, we were just... mating. I was in the dominant position."
"Uh... yeah!" Topsy said. "Tria was just playing a little rough..."
"What are her feet doing on your malehood?" Grandpa longneck asked.

Startled by this, the two threehorns realized what they might be getting themselves into. Tria said to Topsy "You know, a foot rub would hit the spot just about now..." She still kept her feet on his parts, though, reluctant to move until the last second...

Unless he wanted to be helpless underneath her feet, Topsy meant giving his mate a foot rub for 10 minutes... she would take the rub... 10 minutes of being over him was 10 minutes too much for Topsy... it was an odd idea of Tria's anyway...

Topsy would give her an extra foot rub per week... he would not willingly lie under her feet again.

At this time, Topsy was walking through the valley. Rumors had already begyn to spread about what had happened between him and his mate. The other males said nothing, but the other threehorn females kept sneakings looks between his back legs...
Apparently, the threehorn females enjoyed the though of a male being pushed around sometimes...

Breezing past the congregation of threehorns, Petrie could not help but overhear about what had happened to Mr. Threehorn. Petrie snickered to himself as he met up with his friends. As soon as he landed, he took one look at Cera and began to laugh hard.
"What's so funny?" asked Cera.
"Hahaha! Cera dad has sore family shiny stones! Hahaha!" Petrie laughed.
"That is not funny, no no no. Poor Mr. Threehorn. Who did it?" asked Ducky.
"Tria!" Petrie snorted as he continued to crack up. Littlefoot, Ducky, and Spike looked at Petrie in disbelief, and Tricia was naturally unaware of what was going on. As much as her father probably deserved it, Cera still got pissed.
"Oh, yeah?! Keep laughing about it, and you'll have broken family shiny stones before you even grow up!" Cera screamed in Petrie's face. Petrie gulped in fear and shut up.
"She has a point, Petrie," said Littlefoot. "Whatever caused it, they must have had quite a disagreement." The others nodded in agreement with Littlefoot.
"Well, now that that's settled, let's play Tag! You're it!" Cera said before she quickly tapped Littlefoot then sped off.
"Hey! No fair! I'm gonna get you!" Littlefoot laughed as he sped after Cera while the others kept a distance away.

Clearly, it was an odd scene... female threehorns were coming up to Tria, asking her how she did it to her mate...
All the commotion was very tiresome for Tria... after several hours of answering questions, she went to the mud pools to relax...
An hour later, Tria was lying down in the warm mud, on her back... it was very relaxing for her. She especially liked how it felt on her back, and on her feet, especially when it was between her toes...
"I can be SO mean when I'm pissed", Tria thought. She was much nicer when she was relaxed... her mate encouraged her to spent as much time at the mud pools as she wanted... a relaxed female is usually more receptive to her mate's advances... which is why Topsy had been so insistent that Cera go with Tria to those mud poolsthat time... he didnt want anything to dirupt his mate's relaxation, because he had wanted to mate with her that night... which they did...
Now that she was more relaxed, Tria had second thoughts about what she had done to Topsy...

During their parents' act of intimacy, Cera and Tricia slept. Cera slept harder than usual because the mud pool had relaxed her tremendously.

Eating some leaves, Topsy was still feeling the effects of his mate's painful ''lesson'' for him... he would give Tria her foot rub later that night...

Feeling worn out from that morning's events despite her trip to the mud pool, Tria decided to take a nap. She checked on the little ones before she went to her spot and curled up.

Glad to see that his mate was relaxed, Topsy decided to get some food for her when she woke up, hoping to keep her in a good mood...

"Haven't those threehorns anything better to do than to fight?" Littlefoot's grandfather said. "They argue about everything... at least we longnecks have more sense than that..."
"Well, dear... you remember how aggressive you were when you were young?" his mate said to him.
"But I grew out of it soon enough... when I met you. Mr. Threehorn seems to be more aggressive now that he's with Tria..."
"He's lost a mate and children in the past... I can see why he'd be protective of them" Littlefoot's grandmother said.
"He treats them like assets sometimes, and not like free people... as if Tria, Cera, and Tricia 'belonged' to him..." the old male longneck responded.

"I guess that is how threehorns behave in more... dangerous areas of the world..." Grandma longneck said. "Fairness and equality are luxuries, it seems... reserved for lands where there is plenty to eat, enough water to drink, and enough space to live..."
"We have those things here, but there are times when this is not so... remember the water problems we had? And those swarming leaf-gobblers? And the cold times?" her mate replied.
"That's true, dear... but we've managed to keep things together... although as soon as there was the threat of a short supply of things we need to live... fighting broke out... same thing with sharpteeth threats..." she said.
"At least we don't have too many problems involving territory... or mates." Grandpa longneck said. "For most kinds, there is a roughly even number of males and females for most kinds..." he replied.
"In this valley, it seems like there is isn't much competition to get things, but a fierce desire to protect what one already has." his mate added.
"At least some of us know that the way to win a mate's love is to show love to them... not to try and impress them with physical might or some such thing..." Grandpa longneck said.
"I agree... but there is one thing which, although it won't affect my love... would impress me... " she said nuzzling her mate... "I have a splinter in the third toe of my back right foot..."

Just my luck. I'll try to pull it out, although I'm not as limber as I used to be.." grandpa longneck replied feeling the crackling of his bones as he leaned in towards his mates foot.

Kidding? No, she wasn't kidding. His mate lay down on her stomach and stretched out her leg with the splintered foot.
Grandpa longneck pulled the splinter out "I think I'll need a back rub myself after all this.. I'm not so good an bending WAY over anymore..."
Meanwhile...
Tria woke up and saw the food her mate had gotten her...

Mumbling some form of"thank you" Tria slowly got to her feet..

"Nice..." Topsy thought. "Maybe she won't be mad at me..."

"Oh... I haven't forgotten our recent problem" Tria thought to herself "I'm still tired of his bad attitude... and his demands to mate too often... I agreed to do it more often, but not as often as he pressures me to do..."

Perhaps Topsy got the message as he moved away towards the large pool..

Quickly, he returned with some sweet bubbles, hoping that these would help to loosen Tria up some more...

Returning. he set down the food for his mate...

Soon, Tria ate the aforementioned food.

Turning over in his sleep that night, Littlefoot dreamed about Chomper... he had run away from the valley...

Very sad the next day, Littlefoot joined the rest of the "gang" near the river...

"What is wrong, Littlefoot?" asked Ducky.
"I...don't wan't to talk about it," Littlefoot whispered.
"But we your friends," Petrie gasped. Spike nodded in agreement.
"Could you guys excuse us for a moment?" asked Cera before she guided Littlefoot away from the others. As soon as they were out of earshot of the others, Cera turned to Littlefoot.
"It's about Chomper, isn't it?" she asked. Littlefoot nodded.
"I was dreaming about him again. I'm so worried about him, Cera," Littlefoot choked. Although she found it hard to admit, Cera was missing Chomper as well. To see her best friend so sad only made the situation more hurtful.
"Littlefoot, I'm sure he'll be fine," Cera said compassionately.
"But, what if he hates us even though we were not responsible for him leaving? What if we never see him again?" Littlefoot asked before he began to cry. Cera stepped forward and embraced him. Littlefoot was at first surprised but then relaxed. Cera was not one to normally show her soft side, but he knew she had it in her.
"We'll see him again someday, Littlefoot. I don't know when, but something tells me it will happen. Also, he could never hate us. He knows we're his friends and that we'll never abandon him. He won't abandon us, either. Take your advice you normally give me and be positive about this. He'll be back someday, Littlefoot. We're all friends forever," she soothed as she continued to embrace him.

Far away, Chomper rested in a cave...

Climbing down a rocky ledge, Chomper found some insects to eat.

Far away, in the valley, the adults were arguing over whether or not to bring Chomper back...

Getting up, Littlefoot entered into the adult's conversation, hoping to spur them to action, and find Chomper.

"How can you argue like this?!" Littlefoot shouted. "Chomper is gone, and you can't even decide if you will let him come back... or if you even WANT him to come back... and none of this will actually BRING him back!"

"Oh no!" Topsy called looking into the distance where a wall of almost black clouds appeared. "Looks like a lot of sky-water is coming soon. Meeting is over for today!"

"Phooey!" Littlefoot muttered "It looks like we are not going to get any action from the grownups today."
He continued: "It looks like us kids will have to take care of things, as usual."

"Question!" Petrie squawked. "How we gonna find Chomper? He might be anywhere..."

"Ruby?" Littlefoot asked, "Do you have any ideas on where Chomper may have gone?"

"Sure!" Ruby replied smiling. "We agreed on that we'd meet at a special place if we get separated and only he and I know this place I guess..."

"That is great!" Littlefoot said, "That gives us a place to begin our search."

"Uhhh! The more I think about it the madder I get!" Cera complained.

ëVery few of us are satisfied with the situation. Nope, nope nope.” Ducky said, “But we now must decide what to do."

Waiting in the bushes, a shadowy figure observes a Chomper determined to repeat out loud all the turns he took and adding the most recent turn to the end of the chant.

"You all go with your families to rest." Ruby suggested, "Afterwards we can meet up here, up here we can meet!"
"Then we can see if Chomper is at the special place." Ruby finished.
