The Fridge / Valentines Day Gifts
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:52:59 AM »
some girls get flowers, some get chocolates.

My husband walked out of the comic shop and gave me the ultra limited edition SIGNED and numbered (101/250) edition of TRANSFORMERS: LAST STAND OF THE WRECKERS.

I nearly burst into tears when he gave me it!!! And this was right after we had a pancake breakfast in the city and wasted time looking at nice things until the shops opened up at 11.00.

I love transformers comics. The writers are from the UK and are true fans of the characters. Its like if you got fanfic lbt writers who ACTUALLY CARE about the land before time to do a movie and your partner gave you the script of it.

I just could not justify buying that special book myself, but my clever mate did! Now it will stand on my shelf and I will always treasure it as the first valentines gift I had in our marriage. We got married just last year :)

Transformers" more than meets the eye is a great series and if you like scifi and a red dwarf like storyline then you will love it!

<3 I love being a geek and being married to one! :) littlefoot

Hobbies and Recreation / What is Your current job or future job
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:44:25 AM »
I'm a laboratory assistant at a medical lab. Been working there for 11yrs now.

I work in cytology. Which is mostly staining and coversliping papsmears.

I used to work in microbiology. So I have handled practically every gross body fluid that could come out of a human! Nothing phazes me anymore *Lol

I love to listen to podcasts while I work, wish the were LBT ones. I do like 'the rotoscopers' podcast which takes about animation.

1988 Theatrical Release / What could have made the 1st movie better?
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:38:59 AM »
If they were to magically remake this movie, I wouldn't change much other than the whole issue with spikes's size. He need to be shown smaller than the rest and to then have a growth spurt.

I think what could improve this is to make it longer and add a few things such as

1) petri's birth.

2) Littlefoot and Cera after the fight, not just a short cut to Cera' getting them into trouble.

3) few more action packed running away from shartooth type things that could add to character building between our heros.

4) Make Cera a LIKABLE character. Honestly she is right meanie and acts shelfishly towards everyone! Her only redemption is right at the end and then to see her actually looks sad when Petrie dies. The FIRST time she shows that she cares about anyone. I love how strong willed she is but she needed more fleshing out. And some more time after that so we can like her.

5) some alone time with their families. I would like to see Cera interact within her group and LF have a conversation with his grandparents. Small things like this.

30 extra min would make me happy. Plus to cap it all off the "If we hold on together" song in the endish of the movie. I'm not sure how you could put it into the movie, but I would love to see it play in the background while stuff is happening.

and the some where out there song from An American tail- so good to use here, Maybe if LF wakes up in the middle of the night or something.

Ever see the 'bar bar' movie? IT was about elephants. Well that had a great song that would suit this movie down to the ground. It could play in the background.

1988 Theatrical Release / Bluth and Goldman not pleased with production?
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:11:30 AM »
1) Adam Do you know that they are making a new remake of WATERSHIP DOWN? Well they have, I also recommend PLAGUE DOGS. The other animated movie that studio made.

2) Am I the only one that is bothered by the great inconsistency of spikes size? His egg was twice the size of ducky........and yet he's like 10 times her size later one. The same size more or less than the rest of the gang.......that's a HUGE growth spurt there! Silly thing to notice I know :)

I wish Bluth and co wouldn't be wasting their time with that old dead video game movie and instead animated those cut scenes for us fans! I would pay for that in one of those funding sites.

Why can't they publish them on the DVD's? Perhaps they don't have the footage. Such a shame.

General Land Before Time / Journey of the Brave (LBT 14)
« on: February 12, 2016, 10:45:12 PM »
I think the view on wether it was good or not, really depends on what bothers you about the series and what doesn't. On wether you liked them as kid or teenageer/younge adult or not.

For instance I am enjoys watching/listening to 2 fans viewpoints on LBT both are polar opposite in tone

one is Marzgirl-

The other is Alex Popp from the lbt squad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggns1zomB8E

and I agree with both, I highly recommend listening to both of them in their LBT reviews <3

****

I didn't like the sound effects.
I didn't like the voice acting for Toppie but I didn't care.
I didn't like the backgrounds- the previous movies were actually quite pretty.

And I found it all terribly predicable. I also hated that stinkysong.

But they referenced the original movie, they animation of the main characters was on model, I bet they had those character models on file from the previous movies/show. And the voices of the main characters was good.

I also think that Bron should just live in the valley. His entire herd left him for dead, didn't even TRY to help him. Yet his little boy went all the way there to save him..........I would be so ANGRY if I was him and tell them all to get ....(swear word deleted).

If you have small kids they will love it, if you are in the mood for a sweet show you will love it.

But I found it a little bit......insipid....meh....boring...middling. It was a good try and I'm GLAD they made this film, but it won't be one I'll rewatch in a big hurry. And the songs weren't all that catchy either.

If you own the rest BUY IT. For no other reason than to encourage them to make more, it keeps the show alive and introduces a whole new generation to this. 30yr anniversary is coming up, that's AMAZING for a kids show. My only regret is that I was too old at age 13 for the 2nd movie, I wished they hadn't waited so long to do it after the first one.

I loved lbt so much that at age 8 I vowed to myself that when I grew up and got married I would walk down the isle to 'if we hold on together" and many years later I did! - last year infact :) And when/if I have babies I want them to enjoy this too. I had NO IDEA WHAT SO EVER that number 14 was coming out! I saw this movie on netflix BY ACCIDENT!!!! I was beside myself! I rang my husband and squeed down the phone to him. He made me wait until next morning before watching it because he wanted to see my face when I saw it *lol. It seriously made my day, month year and bought me back to the fandom that meant the most to me.

go and watch it, be in a GOOD MOOD when you do and I think you will enjoy it.
