Chapter Four
Armageddon in the Great Beyond

So it was, in the heavens, the great realm of the spirit world Maganog and the Spirit Guardian of the Great Valley met. And there they observed the world below. They watched the events as they unfolded, and it was as a game of chess to the two opponents. Maganog lead the mighty five, his very children behind his pawns, the massive legion of fastbiters who were being lead by the possessed Blackclaw.
But approaching the forces of Maganog from the east were other forces, forces that Maganog did not expect in his plans to destroy the valley of peace. A vast gathering of flyers, threehorns, longnecks and swimmers as well as many other creatures from the far fetches of the world.
This large group of leaf eating dinosaurs were the gatherings of the Valley Guardian himself, they were summoned through visions and dreams to accomplish what they were destined to accomplish, to defend the Great Valley from the shadows of the dark lord, and so the board was set and the pieces were in motion.
“So you’ve revealed the secret protectors of your valley.” Said Maganog, his eyes ever so watchful on the opposing fighters who were nearing his legion.
“Surprised are you?” asked the Guardian “You disappoint me, Maganog. Surely you should have been intelligent enough to know I’d have my defenses.”
“No, not surprised.” Said Maganog “Just a bit put back. If you think your forces will hold me back from my will, your more than the fool than I anticipated.”
“We shall see, Maganog.” Said the Guardian “We shall see who the fool is when this is over with.”
“You forget who I am, Guardian.” Said Maganog sagely and he began to chant
I am the bringer of nightmares
I will reveal to you the creatures of the dark.
They will bite. They will tear.
They will consume all that you know and love.
They will destroy your will to live.
I am Maganog. The Lord of Shadow.
Behold my wrath is upon you.
And you will be mine to posses.
Until the end of this age.
And your spirit, I shall soon consume.
And forever, shall you be tormented within me.
So mot it be.
“So Mot it be.” Nodded The Guardian. “We shall indeed see, my old friend.”
They both returned their glances upon the world below. The pieces on both sides were starting to join. And he two spiritual opponents watched calmly awaiting the events that would follow.

In a shallow valley in the Great Beyond a good ways from the Great Valley walls crept the growing shadow, a massive legion of fastbiters, their hungry eyes upon the walls, and leading them was Blackclaw, his body cursed and possessed by the power of Maganog himself.
But just beyond the hills that formed the shallow valley of stone advanced another great force.
Several flyers, lead by Pteron the Great sped over the hill and there they spied the many approaching sharpteeth
“Fall in troops!” ordered Pteron, the elderly flyer, and they dove forth towards the fastbiters in an attack formation.
As this was happening a huge line of threehorns were stomping their way over the hill, there they looked down upon their foe. Their leader Haiden stood in the far front of this line, leading his followers without the slightest hint of fear of the enemy legion.
“They shall never breach the walls of the valley.” Declared Haiden “Come, Threehorns, leave no sharptooth standing! By the will of the Guardian, attack!”
And so, it began.

Korr then walked up to Doc with meyla and Zaine at his side and said "I remember that fight!" When Grandpa Longneck and several others looked at him like he was crazy the Red Horn then stated "Well the stories my grandpa used to tell me anyway. It was a giant battle with sharpteeth and leaf eaters of all kinds, and it lasted for days on end, some thought it would never stop fighting, but then one day...the sharptooth king known as Maganog was defeated by what others call 'The Guardian of the Great Valley.' "
Grandpa Longneck nodded and said "Yes I to remember hearing a story much like that from my folks as a youngling myself. You don't suppose somehow this is happening all over again...do you Doc?" He looked at the other longneck with hope in his eyes that said no.

The very mention of the name Maganog seemed to cause a wave of shock over the valley residents as they listened in on the comversation.
"He who must not be named..." said Syrius "Never speak that name here. It brings a bad omen."
"I fear it may be what is happening." said Doc, now looking his old self again, his face looking vey sage like
"Though the Sharptooth Lord has been long dead, some say his very children still roam the world. The Mighty Five."

'I believe that is who my companion and I saw. They gave us a chill that froze our bones.' Vylor said. He had ran to Argaya's side when her call came.
(OOC: Hey, the name brings a bad omen. That is just like Harry Potter VII.)

There was a sudden flash of movement from a nearby mountaintop, and Dante came vaulting down to land near the group.
"Ah. Vylor, Argaya, good to see you well. Sorry I'm late. I had to find a friend of mine..."
Another blur, and a white and red raptor landed nearby.
"I'm Mary. Call me Lady, however, or you'll regret it."
Virgil decided to show up then as well.
"Korr. Good to see that you're still alive."

"The Mighty Five must have been the five sharpteeth I saw. I guess mighty really works for their name, because they were HUGE! Well, I don't care how big they are, I'm not going to let them win. Even if I have to fight them myself."

Hunter apparently was left to bring up the rear behind Dante, Lady as she liked to be called and Virgil. She then took a deep breath and said "How about waiting next time...Dante!" Longtail however just smiled at his firends antics and said "Well it's about time you all got back...you've missed out on so much fun!"
Korr however looked over to Virgil and gave a small smile and simply opted for nodding his head in response. He then looked down to Zaine and said "You saw them...and LIVED?!"
Hunter then asked "So I can feel the tension around here...what's up?"

Zaine nodded. "They didn't notice me. It was during that terrible storm. I was stuck on the ground and those five sharpteeth were heading towards the valley. I tried to get up and tell someone, but that's when you saved me from the falling tree." Zaine then thought really carefully and then looked over at Longtail.
"Longtail, is it possible to contact the voice I heard before Kor attacked us a while ago?"

Longtail looked over at Zaine for a moment and then said "We'll have to go somewhere a bit more private." He was reluctant to take Zaine to where they needed to go...but he was one of his best friends, he couldn't just turn Zaine away. With a much more determined look on his face Longtail said to Zaine "Okay..follow me!"
He then began to lead the way to where Zaine would be able to speak to the spirits.

Zaine began to follow. "I haven't told anybody about this, but right before Kor jumped me, a voice was talking to me. She told me that you had felt the same pain that I have, in the sense of parents. The only pain I could think of was when I lost my parents in the earthshake." He then hesitated to ask.
"I'm sorry if this is uncomfortable for you, but I have to ask. Did you lose someone close to you?"

"Ah! Hunter! Good to see you again...my friend"
Dante smiled as he walked over to Hunter's side, smiling at her, and placed a claw on hers.
"Whatever happens now... I'll protect you...Hunter..."
He whispered in her ear...
"Korr. These... Mighty Five. What do you know about them?"
Virgil asked the Redhorn as he stood nearhim, facing the Beyond...

Hunter smiled at Dante and said "Thanks, I'll be sure to return the favor as well." She then wrapped her tail around his foot.
Korr looked at Vylor and said "All I really know is that if they are alive, then many of us won't live to see the bright circle rise tomorrow. And I hope I'm wrong about this, but I don't think we have enough of a force to stand up against them."
"Then we will need help." said Grandpa longneck with a nod and he looked to Doc and asked "Do you know of anyone else who can help us?"

'Well, Virgil, I think a friend of mine knows.' Vylor said, gesturing towards Torgo. 'He keeps talking about a "Master" of his, and I think it might have something to do with these Mighty Five. And Korr, Argaya and I are extremely powerful. We have a chance.'
Vylor and I will help. Argaya projected towards Grandpa Longneck.

"Count me in, too! There's no way that I'm gonna let this place, and all my friends be destroyed!"
Dante said, grasping his bokken in his claws, then twining his tail around Hunter's
"If Dante's gonna help, then so will I!"
Lady agreed, her eyes sparkling with some internal flame...
"I will...stand in the Valley's defense as well. To repay the kindness that has been shown to me."
Virgil said, a smile crossing his face...

Hunter would've smiled if Longtail hadn't jumped onto her back and said "So where have you two been?" Hunter turned her head and said "For your information, I've been helping Dante, and that's it!" After hearing this Longtail grinned and said "Sure it is." and jumped off Hunters back and down to the ground.
"So now what?" asked Longtail to everyone who was gathered there.

'What we need is to prepare defenses. We know the size of the attacking force, so we should be able to prepare necessary defenses.' Vylor said.

Zaine reached the area where he could contact spirits, and Longtail left him to go join the others. Now completely alone, Zaine sighed and concentrated his mind to speak to the voice who comforted him before. "I know you're still out there, so pleaese answer my call. The valley is in danger, and I don't think we can hold them off ourselves. Please give us guidance. What can we do?"

Dante looked at Hunter, blushed, and quickly managed to say...
"Yeah, She was just helping me out. Don't get any ideas..."

Where Zaine stood it became quiet...tension shattering quiet, and then that same voice called out to him. "Hello again Zaine...it's nice to see you are safe. I see your friend Longtail did not join you...may I ask why?"

As the others stood an discussed, a lone ocean blue figure, with odd feathers on his arms like sleeves, stood a distance away, holding an instrument made out of a small plant and some thin vines. His name was Motochika Chosokabe, and he was a wanderer who happened to be in the Valley at the time. He had been compelled to the place by his dreams, which had guided him to it. He now stood for a moment longer, strummed his instrument with a flat piece of wood, and stepped out around the tree to join the others.
"I too, will aid your cause. I am Motochika Chosokabe, and I would be honored if you let me aid you."
He said in a deep, nearly emotionless, voice as he strode forwards delberately...

Hunter almost instinctivly turned on the newcomer and asked harseely "Who the firewater are you? Or more to the point....what are you?"

Motochika recoiled a slight bit, then regained his composure, and said...
"I am little more than a wanderer. What species I am even I know not. But I know what is in my heart, and that is a desire to protect this place that I had heard about since my youth. If you must call me anything...I am a Tosan, for that is the name of my place of birth."
He bowed deeply, and then stood again, looking around at the other gathered residents of the valley before him...

"He's with the others, meeting some new wanderers to the valley. Besides, I asked if I could come alone anyway. I wasn't sure I could contact you with the others around. Too much noise." Zaine hesitated before asking his next question.
"I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I have to ask you. Are you my mother?"

Motochika looked at the gathering of the others, then said in an almost sad way...
"I get the feeling that you don't trust me. If that is the case...How can I prove myself?"

'I have a way. I need you to find me a fast-biter. He is very dark gray, and he has a few slash marks around his chest. He also has a mark around his left eye that is completely black. His name is Dark-Eye.' Vylor said.

The voice was quiet for a minute and then said "No, I'm sorry Zaine, but I do have a suprise for you... you can see your mother right now. Just don't move."
In a moment the place where Zaine was standing began to change, and little dots of blue light began to form in front of Zaine and when it was over two forms stood in front of him...a flyer and his mother who was smiling at him.

Zaine couldn't believe what he was seeing. Ever since the great earthshake, he had mourned for the death of his herd. He even wished sometimes if he could kill himself in order to rejoin his family in the afterlife. Now, he was finally meeting with his long lost mother again, and it was too much for him to handle. He began to shed some tears. "Mother? Is it really you? Am I dreaming?"

"Agreed. I shall go and find this fast-biter. This shouldn't be too hard, since I recall that I saw him near here recently."
Motochika said, turning and walking off, strumming his instrument as he did so...

"This is the one, than, Soul?"
As Zaine looked, a third figure formed, this one a male fastbiter, who smiled warmly at him...

Zaines mother smiled at him and said "No dear, you are not dreaming...it really is me. I am so proud of you...you have made many friends, and your willingness to stand by them is what following your heart is all about." She then turned her attention to the fast biter spirit and said "Yes, This is my son."
The female flyer smiled at Zaine as well and spoke "It's nice to finally get to see you zaine...this may be hard to believe but I am Longtail's mother. My name is Soul."

"Well then, allow me to introduce myself, Zaine. I am Arius Oubouros. I believe you've met my... adopted son, Dante?"
The male spirit said, bowing gracefully to Zaine as he did so...

Meanwhile, Motochika had stopped in a small glade.
"You who is following me. Vylor is looking for you. I would have to request that you come with me..."
He said, directly addressing Dark-Eye...

"Finally, I can have this curse lifted," Dark-Eye said.

"Your curse? I sense no such thing about you. Rather, I see that you have been given the power, like many of us here, to defy the tides of fate, and to carve your own path."
Motochika replied, looking back unflinchingly...

Zaine was stunned by the flyer spirit's words. "Longtail's... mother?" He never mentioned anything about her to me before. He finally realized what Soul meant when she told him that Longtail also felt his pain. He then looked over to Arius. "Your son? You mean the one that just arrived here? I knew there was something different about him, but I couldn't figure out what. Why isn't he attacking us right now, and what are we supposed to do about the five sharpteeth?"

"Dante has always been...different. He hates blood, and will avoid killing unless it is absolutely nessecary. As to the other five that approach, they will meet strong resistance. There are many in the Valley with powers that are far beyond their own. Dante, for one, and Longtail both have such powers."
Arius said, a faint smile crossing his face as he did so...

Soul smiled and said to Zaine "My son is something special. Arius is right...many in the valley will stand and fight, and those who can...will use their gifts to aid us all." Soul then smiled and said "But thats not the reason you came here is it?"
Zaines Mother then said "What do you need my dear?"
OOC: What is Zaine's mothers name?

'It is a curse to me. I can't be with my own kind. I am an outcast with my own, and others flee from me.' Dark-Eye said.

OOC: Mia. First thing I could think of
"I have two questions that I'm stuck on. The first is about Kor." He hesitated for a second. "I'm not sure if you remember, but Kor wants Longtail dead, but for some reason he acts fine towards me. He offered to help us defend the valley, but can he really be trusted?"

Soul sighed and said "Oh...I remember it well Zaine. He will keep his end of the bargain and help the valley, but then I must warn you he will try to get his vengance and I'm not sure how he'll do it...he may use anyone including you to get to Longtail. I'm sorry, but that's just the way Korr is."
Mia then replied "But my son won't fall for that he is far too smart! Zaine you must listen to us and try to help both Longtial and Korr settle there problems, or this fight may just end both of them...and even if the valley is spared by the death of the Mighty Five, they will still be lost. It is all up to you!"

"Indeed. I'll tell Dante to help in the task, but I fear that much of it will be on your shoulders, Zaine. I worry about Longtail as well."
Arius said, growing rather grim...

"Perhaps fate's shifting currents will one day allow you to put your...'curse'...to good use, Dark-Eye. Perhaps now is that day."
Motochika said, a note of calming in his voice as he did so...

"You may think that, but once it has exhausted all of its usefullness, I shall have that elf rid me of it." Dark-Eye said. "Shouldn't you be going back now?"

No pressure or anything. Zaine still didn't understand how he was supposed to do all of this. "Well, then this brings me to my next question. How am I supposed to be able to do all of this? Settle the differences between Kor and Longtail is one thing, but to also prevent the Mighty Five from destroying the Great Valley? Is there some secret special power I have that I never realized before, because if there is, I could surely use it?"

"Zaine. You do posess a special power, but yet... what it is is for you to discover." Arius said, looking at Zaine with a grin as he did so...

"Yes. However... I need you to come with me. That will help a wanderer like me to gain the trust of the others."
Motochika said, looking at Dark-Eye with a small smile on his face...

"Hey Longtail? Where'd Zaine go? Haven't seen him for a while. Oh, and um... Hunter? Do you think that these 'Mighty Five' will be as powerful as they seem?"
Dante said, in a rare moment of thoughtful calmness...

Zaine didn't undertand what he meant by that. A power that I have but I can't use unless I discover it? What the heck does that mean? Then he saw Arius's grin and it made him nervous. What are they talking about. "I guess it would be too much to ask for a hint?" He knew they wouldn't answer, then he threw something out. "Please tell me I can't turn into a sharpteeth or anything like that!"

'Fine, I'll accompany you.' Dark-Eye said. He then walked towards Motochika.

Soul and Mia both began to laugh at Zaine's last comment and Mia then replied "No my son, you won't become a sharptooth...that's not possible!" Soul then replied "But if you can bring Longtail back here, we can show you what Arius means." Mia then smiled at her son and said "Can you do that Zaine?"

Longtail looked to Dante and said "He needed to be alone for a moment he will be right back." The flyer then turned to Hunter and awaited her answer to Dantes' question as well.
To which she responded "At this point it seems to be a rather large yes...." She then sighed as she continued speaking "But I do hope...well...no one dies."

Zaine was a little confused at this remakr. Does Longtail have something also? Nevertheless he nodded. "Please don't go." He then turned around and ran the other direction. I hope they don't disappear on me. I have to know what they mean by me having a special power. Eventually, Zaine made it back to the group, and Longtail was with them.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you guys, but I need Longtail to come with me for a second. It's something important."

"And to that end, I will give my strength to my friends."
Motochika said, stepping out of the woods, Dark-Eye behind him.
"Vylor...This is the one you were seeking, correct?"
"And I'll protect you guys too." Dante said, smiling...

Longtail looked at Zaine as he said it was important and nodded as he said "Please everyone excuse me...we will be right back." He then turned to follow Zaine back to where he needed to go. Hunter however was curious, and said to Dante "I'm going to follow them...ya know make sure they don't get hurt."
Soul was actually pacing back and forth in a circle waiting for Zaine to bring Longtail back. "Is it supposed to take this long?" she asked herself outloud. But Mia answered her anyway "Well, from where the group was, and where we are now it may take a while for my son to get there. Just relax Soul." Zaines mother then turned to Arius and said "Help me out here...Soul is worrying herself to...uhh...we can't die again can we?"

Zaine and Longtail had arrived back where the spirits were, and Zaine just heard the comment his mother made. He couldn't help but laugh, seeing Longtail's mother worry so much. "That wouldn't be good if you guys died again." He gestured Longtail forward. "Longtail, you already know your mother, but I want you to meet mine, or at least her spirit. This is Arius," he said, pointing out each spirit.

'Yes. Thank you. You have some of my trust. Dark-Eye, I am going to assume that you will want fair compensation for your services, right?' Vylor said.
'That is correct. I want you to make me normal again.' Dark-Eye said.

Longtail smiled and bowed in respect to Zaine's mother and said "It's good to meet you." He then turned to Arius and said "Nice to meet you too." But after that he stood back up and his face became a blank stone, showing no emotion as he said "Hi mom...come with more bad news have you?"
Soul sighed and said "Aren't you happy to see me at all?" Mia then whispered "Is your son okay...he seems nice, but....a little off." Soul scoffed and replied "He's not 'off' he's just...well..." She then looked away for a moment and sighed.

Zaine had a feeling something was going to happen like this, but he still couldn't believe what Longtail was doing. His mom was dead, and this is how he greets her? "Is this the reason you wanted me to bring him?" Zaine asked. "To see how he feels? I'm sorry you guys, but I'm sick and tired of seeing pain in this world. You told me to bring him for a reason. This can't be it."

Soul smiled at Zaine and said "You are a bright one. Yes you did not bring my son here to argue with me. So let's continue shall we?" She then turned to her son and said "No Longtail, I actually came here to give you something fun to do for once."
At that comment Longtail blinked and replied "So what am I doing?" Mia then said "You are going to show Zaine how to unlock his 'potential'." After that sentence Longtail had a ear to ear grin on his face as he said "Well, like mom said let's get started!"
He turned to Zaine and asked "This may feel a little strange, are you sure you are ready for this?"

Zaine hesitated for a moment. He didn't expect them to do anything to him, but he figured it was for the best. He looked at the three spirits, including his mom, and smiled a little. "Ok Longtail. I trust you aren't going to turn me into anything bad. Do whatever you need to do."

'Dark-Eye, I'm not sure if I can. I will try my best, though. It might take a lot of your energy, and maybe even your life, to undo the magic that has affected you. Anyways, I need your help, and removing the magic would be detrimental in the current circumstance. We need you to fight along side the rest of the Great Valley to defeat these mammoth sharpteeth known as the Mighty Five.'
'I accept, but if you fail at undoing your magic, there will be a price that you shall pay.' Dark-Eye said.

Longtail nodded to the other spirits who formed a circle around Longtail and Zaine. The young flyer then said to Zaine "All I need you to do is close your eyes. This will be quick and painless, although you may feel like you're flying for a moment." He then turned and asked with a puzzled look "Have you ever done something like this Arius? I don't want you tiring yourself out."
From where Hunter was standing, she was amazed that this was even possible...to see the spirits of this world standing there and talking to her friends no less! She wanted to step forward and say something, but this was too good to pass up.

Zaine nodded and closed his eyes. "Well, it's a good thing I won't feel anything. If you guys were going to do something to me, I pobably would have taken my anger out on Longtail since I really can't hurt you guys." He laughed at himself and then got quiet, waiting for whatever was going to happen.

Dante stood next to Hunter, a faint grin crossing his face.
"Arius..."
He whispered...
Arius smiled a little before replying...
"Don't worry. I've done this before, with Dante."
Then he looked up...
"And speaking of Dante... You can come out now. And who is that with you?"

Zaine didn't open his eyes, but he wasn't oblivious to their presence. "Dante, were you spying on us?"

"Um...Not really... Just was walking around to get some air..."
Dante stammered, then turned to Arius saying...
"How'd you know I was here?"
Arius smiled, then said...
"I heard you. Who is that with you?"
Dante blushed as he replied...
"This is Hunter... my good friend..."

Hunter was stunned. Not so much at being caught but from being caught be three spirits, but the biggest surprise came when she stepped forward and was blushing as Dante introduced her as she looked at one of the spirits standing in front of her.
"S-Soul? Is that really you?"
Then it was Longtails turn to be surprised as he said "Hunter? How do you know my mother?!"
Then Hunter looked over at Longtail and back to Soul and she smiled as she said "I finally know where you get your looks from Longtail."
As Longtail was about to respond Soul spoke up and said "We can sort this out later...Longtail would you like to continue please?" Longtail smiled and said "Yes mother."
He then looked to Zaine and began by saying: "We are friends and family born to stand, and when you need them they will be here. Standing at the ready we'll always be ready becuase in truth we will always be there."
And as he continued a faint yellow mist began to appear around Longtail, and a white mist formed around Zaine as Longtail finished "Together one behind the other we Rise or Fall."
The light around Longtail then became so bright Hunter had to squint her eyes just to see him. "What's going on?" she asked aloud?

Dante had turned away, shielding his eyes from the glow as well, telling Hunter...
"He's waking up Zaine's latent powers. Arius did something like this for me a long time ago, back when I was younger."
Arius laughed, smiling at Dante, and said...
"Yes, Dante, you were a youngling back then, but you already had the spirit that you still possess now. Now look at you, ready to defend that which is dear to you, and with a new Ladyfriend, too..."

'I will accept the consequences. I know that, in some way, I do deserve them. But that is not the issue now. The issue is these Mighty Five. We must deal with them.' Vylor said.
Will you fight alongside Vylor and the rest of the Great Valley? Argaya projected.
'Yes. Whole-heartedly. If either of us die, though, the debts to the other are null and void.' Dark-Eye said.

Hunter blushed and said to Arius "T-thank you." She then turned to Dante and asked "Do yuo think I have anything special about me...like Longtail?"

Dante looked at Hunter for a moment, thinking back on their travels together.
"I think that you definately have some special power, though...I can't tell you what it is, or how to awaken it. Arius?"
As he said the last word, he looked over at his mentor and friend with questioning eyes...
"Indeed she does have a power, Dante. Hers, however is different than many. She will have to find her own way to awaken it. Perhaps...Letting her see you use your...talent will aid her in that." Arius responed calmly...
"Right. I guess it's time I showed you my... my power, isn't it, Hunter?"
Dante asked Hunter, eyes both eager and sad at once.

Zaine began to feel the light surround him, but he didn't open his eyes. However, never feeling this sensation before. He started to worry a little. "Mom, what's going on? What's happening to me?" He tried as hard as he could to remain calm, but it was proving quite difficult. He didn't start to panick, but he felt uneasy.

Motochika stood nearby, nodding calmly...
"I, too, will help. Both in undoing the magic, and in the combat to come..."

Even with his eyes closed Longtail smiled and as he spoke Zaine's mother also said "Don't worry Zaine...just relax and take a deep breath." After a few more moments the light around Longtail faded and dulled. He then opened his eyes and said "It's done. Well Zaine how do you feel?"
Soul gave a small smile as she watched her son and noted he was now floating an inch off the ground...to anyone else it just might look like he was standing on his toes. Mia smiled as well and asked "Zaine, how did the light feel? Was it warm, cold or something different?"
Hunter smiled and said "Show away Dante! I-I would like to see what 'powers' you have." Then a blush creeped upon her face as she thought about what Dante could do.

Zaine opened his eyes. "I don't know. It's hard to explain. It felt warm, but cold at the same time. Whatever that was, it felt good." He looked around at his body. "I don't look changed at all. What did the light do?"

Arius smiled at him, and he said...
"Well, Zaine, Just watch Dante. You'll be able to do something like what he's about to do... Go ahead, Dante!"
Dante looked back at the others, and said...
"Right...Here goes!"
His eyes flashed bright for a moment, then a small aura appeared around him crackling with lightning...
"Well, gang? What'dya think?"

Hunter was speechless and her mouth hung open as she gazed upon Dante. And after several more moments of silence she finally found her voice and asked "H-how...did you..." Then a thought crossed her mind as she asked "Can...I do something like that?!"
Longtail smiled at Zaine's remark and said "Yeah...I still haven't gotten used to that feeling." He looked over to Dante and said "Ya know...I can do you one better!" The glow around him intensified once more.
Soul simply smiled and said "This should be good!" Mia just looked on awe stunned and surprised at what was happening, She then asked "Does this happen often?" Soul replied "Only when it needs to."
As the light began to fade away Longtail could be seen standing on the ground with a smile on his face. His scale color had changed drastically. His blue scales were now white, and his crest was purple. But the one thing that stood out the most were the angel wings made of light coming out of his back.
He then said "Told you Dante!" He then turned to his mother who looked more stunned than she should be as she spoke "Well....that is...different!" Mia was still too shocked to say much of anything as she looked on.

Zaine turned back to his mother. "Mom, how is this possible? What do I have to do to unlock that power? Do I have to chant something?"

Mia giggled and said "No my son no chant is needed but there is one thing you do have to do and that is believe in yourself. That is all."
Soul on the other hand was still rather surprised as she looked upon her son and said to herself 'he looks just like...me.' She then smiled and said "My son...you still make me smile in pride!"
To this Longtail blushed and said "Thanks mom."

You can probably do something like this with a little practice. Yours'll probably be more...um...beautiful than this, though..." Dante said, looking at Hunter with a blush...

Hunter would have responded if she still didn't look so dumbfounded by all this happening around her. She finally had enough sense to close her jaw and blush as she caught the end of Dante's sentence.
She then said "Well....I would be a little more willing...if I had your gifts. But I'm just me...I wouldn't know where to start."
At the end of Hunters statement Longtail looked over and said "Well I wonder how I missed that." He then walked next to Hunter and said "I can see your abilites Hunter...you have our gifts too...all you need to do is believe in yourself and the spirits will reward you."
Hunter now looked skeptical as she stared at Longtail then she said "Well the prove does kinda speak for itself." She looked around her and given what was going on she sighed and said "Okay, I'll give it a shot." She then closed her eyes and concentrated hard...and the glow around her started to get brighter...

'Did someone say spar? Why would you not invite me?' Vylor said as he came into the area. 'By the way, how can you tell if someone has your gift, Longtail? I'm not complaining or anything. The more powerful our allies are, the better are our chances of success.'

Dante walked over to Hunter, placing his hands on hers.
"Just relax, Hunter. It'll feel odd for a moment, but the feeling will pass. Here. Let me lend you some of my energy, to let you get a feel for the mana that you'll be using..."
Dante said, a glow travelling along his arm and joining Hunters. The glow around Hunter continued to grow brighter untill...

Hunter listened to her friends and took a deep breath as she felt Dante's hands against her. She then opened her eyes and for a moment the world was black and white, which was odd, but as she blinked to clear her vision. When she opened her eyes again things were back to normal...but something was different.
Hunter then looked around herself and was surprised. The spirits were gone! 'But they were here just a moment ago...I think...maybe I need to stop eating those red treestars.'[/]
"Where...did..." She looked up to Dante blushing, but she didn't want to sound stupid so she just asked "How did I get here again?"
Longtail smiled at Vylor and said "That's easy! My eyes are for more than just spotting food and prey! If someone has a special connection to someone else, or lost someone they loved....like my mother...then they receive the guardian's aura. That is how I can tell."

Dante smiled at her, eyes wide with amazement.
"Hunter you...you look...beautiful..."
He finally stammered...
"And do I have the aura, Longtail?"
Motochika asked as he stepped out from the trees...

Hunter again blushed but didn't really care this time and said "T-thank you...Dante. Your very sweet to say such a thing."
Longtail turned his head and looked at Motochika for a moment and said "Yes...I can see it...it'g green..." He then turned to Soul to ask her a question...but she was gone. "Mom, where are you?" Soul sighed and said "I'm still here dear. I just thought it'd be easier to speak to my voice."
Longtail sighed and said "Well could try telling me next time right?" Soul laughed and said "Yes, of course."

Musou. The spirit given form, come to me and grant me the ability to defy the fates! Tidebreaker! Roar!"
Motochika began to strum his instrument furiously, enveloping himself in a sonic bubble. When the bubble broke into a storm of water, he stood there. His body was glinting with silver markings that shifted and moved. More suprising was his instrument. Now it was a glittering shamisen, it's strings glinting in the light he was emanating.
"This...This is amazing...I..."
He stammered, eyes wide with shock...

Longtail was actually impressed at Motochika's change. He smiled approvingly and said "Well...I like the new look, I am however eager to see what will happen when those sharpteeth arrive here."
He then looked to Zaine and asked "Well have you gotten used to talking to the spirits yet?"

'Then why haven't you sensed anything around Argaya or myself? Argaya lost her entire race, and I lost many friends that I deeply cared for.' Vylor said.

Longtail frowned and shrugged as he answered by saying "I'm not sure really...I mean I don't really know how to control what I see, or how it works...You may want to speak to my mother about that."

'Well, it doesn't matter to me. I already have some amazing magical powers. And Argaya has her dragon magic.' Vylor said. He then began focusing his magical energy into his entire body, and an electric aura began appearing around his body. His hair began to glow bright yellow.

"Well. Pretty cool Vylor! So. Everyone up to spar?" Dante said, eagerly...
"Indeed. Let's go, everyone..." Motochika said, shifting into his ready stance...

Outside the valley, a purple fast-biter ran up to his master, Blackclaw and bowed.
"Master. I bear news. I have sensed many...distinctive powers...from within the Valley. What do you wish to do, my lord?"
Kireek bowed his head, awaiting his master's orders...

'Thanks, Dante. By the way, I need a second to get my effects.' Vylor replied, and then his hair changed back to its regular silver. The electric aura focused around him, and then it began to coalesce into a pair of swords. One of the swords was silver, like the scale color of Argaya. The other was golden, like Vylor when he was a longneck. Also, two forearm guards appeared around Vylor's (thighs, right? :lol ) forearms. There was a small elevated surface on both. At the end closest to his hands, there was a thin slot.

Zaine nodded to LOngtail. "Yeah, I guess I am kind of getting used to this new change." He then turned to his mother. "If I had this power all along, why couldn't I have used it until now? It could have helped me countless times in our adventures."

Longtail and Hunter both smiled as Dante, Vylor and Motochika got into their fighting stances. Longtail then said "Oh yeah...this is gonna be fun!" Then he took up his battle stance as well. Hunter just continued to smiled as she stood absolutely still holding her ground.
Mia was the only spirit still visible and she faced her son for a moment and then said "Well up until this point you didn't need to know, but now that everything...including all life here and in the Mysterious Beyond is at stake...now your heart is ready."
Longtail then looked over and asked 'You wanna join us Zaine...we could use another sparing partner...and it would give you the chance to test strong you really are."

Zaine turned towards Longtail. "I guess I'll try. Don't completely kill me though." Zaine walked towards the group and dropped into his fighting stance. He looked at the others, waiting for someone to make the first move.

'I'll be back in a minute. I just need to grab some weights to lower my speed. If I was to fight without those weights, I would be impossible to hit.' Vylor said, and with that, he went into a nearby cave. He then began to transform some of the rocks into replicas of the weights he had back at his home. He then put them on, and returned to the group.

Longtail and his mother both said "Oh don't worry Zaine, as long as we don't use our claws, none of us should be truly harmed...or killed." Longtail then looked up at the sky and sighed as they both realized what they did. "Not again..." said Longtail with a smile.
Hunter on the other hand was getting tired of standing around and decided to make the first move. She jumped forward and tried to tackle Dante to the ground.

Dante's eyes widened as he saw Hunter charging him, and in the moment before she hit him, he jumped straight up into the air, dodging over her and laughing...
"Well, I guess that means we're on!"
Motochika, too leapt into action on hearing Dante's yell. Lunging forwards, he strummed his shamisen, releasing a soundwave directly at Longtail.
"Agreed. Let's go!"

Hunter smiled as Dante jumped over her first attack and said "Well it's nice to know that your still on guard!" She then turned and charged him again, this time moving far faster than even she thought he could.

In response to Motochika's attack Longtail used his wings as s shield and protected himself, then he retaliated by slapping his tail against the ground and causing an impressively loud echo under it as he did so...and he just smiled as he could only wait to see what everyone else could do.

Dante smiled. This time, he was ready for her. He braced his feet against the ground and held his arms out to grapple Hunter's next oncoming charge.
"Trust me, Hunter. With you around, I'm always on my guard."
He laughed...
Motochika leapt at Longtail, swinging his instrument at him this time...

Vylor decided to jump into the fray and began to perform a series of hand signs while chanting.

Not knowing exactly what to do, Zaine turned towards Longtail. He began to run towards him. "Here goes nothing!" He leaped into the air, spun around, and whipped his tail out at Longtail.

Suddenly, a shadowed katana appeared and blocked the slash. Gripping the blade was none other than Virgil, Dante's brother.
"Shame on you. Starting the fun without me."
He pushed Zaine back, ready to join the fray...

Longtail jumped out of the way of Zaines tail and laughed as he said "Is that the best you've got? My uncle is faster than that!"
Even as Hunter was still facing off against Dante she managed to say "Don't get cocky Longtail...you may be beaten yet!"

Zaine laughed. "I'm just getting started!" He then charged at Longtail with all his might and attempted to body slam him.

'Your uncle is right. I'm here, remember?' Vylor said as he slashed one of his twin swords at Longtail. He also pulled out a handful of shuriken and threw them at Longtail.

Seeing this triple threat coming his way Longtail was actually starting to get worried...he'd never faced a three way attack before. But just as Zaine was about to collide with his Longtail got an idea! He waited for Zaine to get close and at the last moment he jumped up and using his feet and tail knocked Zaine away as hard as he could, and then preformed a corkscrew spin, avoiding the sharp twig like objects.
Hunter was impressed as he reaction said "Woha, Very nice indeed." She was so impressed that she forgot she was grappling with Dante and she slipped and fell on her face with a grunt

'Nice evasion, Longtail. However, how good are you against me in the air?' Vylor said as he jumped to catch up to Longtail. He then put his two swords away and began striking at Longtail with his index and middle finger extended. At the same time, he began to channel magical energy into his outstretched fingers, preparing to force the energy into Longtail's body when he made contact.

Virgil seemed mildly irritated as he leapt towards Vylor, readying himself for a swift kick...
"You still seem to see me as little of a threat. I'll have to change that!"
Dante smirked at Hunter, saying...
"Smooth move, Hunter! Any more tricks like that up your sleeves?"
Motochika, sensing that Zaine was the most open target, lunged forwards, swiping his shamisen at him as he did so.
"Ready to face me, Zaine?"
He asked...

Not noticing Motochika, Zaine felt the shamisen whack him in the head. He flung back in the air and landed on the ground hard. He slowly got back up and spat out a little blood. "That was a lucky shot, but now I'm coming for you!" He lunged at him, leaped into the air, and then kicked his two hind legs at him.

Motochika attempted to dodge the attack, but both kicks hit him squarely in the stomach, knocking him backwards and driving the wind from him.
"Tch. You are strong, I'll admit. Ready for this though?"
Motochika again strummed his instrument, releasing another soundwave at Zaine.
He then began to dart about, creating small, purple bubbles that hovered around the area...

To avoid Virgil's attack, Vylor decided to redirect his assault from Longtail to Virgil, first by evading the kick. He proceeded to send a jab right at Virgil.

Virgil smiled as he saw Vylor's jab coming at him. Nimbly, he moved himself out of the way, releasing a wave of shadows right at Vylor in retaliation.
"Now that I have your...Attention... Let's begin!"
He said, an evil smirk crossing his face...

'Shadows, huh?' Vylor commented. He then said some word and a wave of bright light emanated from his eyes, negating the shadows. He then extended two blades from his wrist-guards. He stabbed at Virgil with them, focusing some magical energy around the edges.

"What the heck?" Zaine didn't know what to do. He had never experienced this kind of power before, but before he could decide on anything, he was too late. The soundwave hit him and he stammered back., right into one of the purple bubbles. Zaine fell to the ground once again. He slowly tried to stand up again. What's wrong with me? Why can't I do this? The purple bubbles slowly bgan to cluster and move toward him. I have to get in close, but these things keep getting in the way! Oh well, here goes nothing. Zaine began to run towards Motochika, trying to dodge as many of the bubbles as he could. Unfortunately, one of them hit him, but Zaine didn't move. He kept running, although he still felt the pain. With his bad luck, another one hit him. He stammered a little, feeling more pain, but he kept running. He ran into another bubble, and then another, and then another, but Zaine kept moving. He finally got up close to Motochika. "Now I have you!" He leaped up in the air with all his strength and whipped his tail around.

Virgil created his shadow katana, blocking Vylor's blades, then lashing out with another vicious kick...
Motochika, meanwhile, took the hit from Zaine, and collapsed. Then his body dissolved into water, and he reappeared from near Zaine's original location.
"Well done, Zaine. However...Too bad you only hit one of my Water Clones..."

Zaine was annoyed by now. "You've got to be joking!" He looked back at Motochika who didn't show even a single sweat, and Zaine dropped to his knees. I don't know how much more I can take. He's too fast, and I can't even hit him! If I continue this fight, I might get myself killed.

'Enough of this magic. This won't solve anything.' Vylor said, and he began an incantation to stop any abilities that are not natural, including his own powers. He then decided to take the kick from Virgil and send a strike at the leg that delivered the blow.

ooc: since I've been away for so long, I've tried to read through what's been going on but Im having a hard time understanding much of it. so best thing for me to do is start off with one of my main characters and have him meet someone, this will help me to enter the story at hand and allow me to stirr the RP back to the main plot. please play along =)
Denton came rushing from the thick underbrush, his breath short and his eyes wide with fright. He had another nightmare while asleep and when he awoke it seemed the nightmare was still playing out through his head and he was trying to escape it.
A mighty and terrible spirit was after him, a tall looming figure of a sharptooth it seemed and it was enough to scare a young dino out of his skin and into his grave.
He turned back suddenly seeing the spirit gone. the nightmare had ended. Or had it? the poor little longneck was now peranoid, and he did not know where his friends were
"Lost again..." he said "Why is this becoming so cliche?"

Denton, I'll try to guide you back here. If you are wondering how I knew you were lost, I was keeping tabs on everyone important*. Argaya projected.

Longtail suddenly stopped fighting with the others as he sniffed the air. He could smell someone, but it was faint..."Hang on guys I gotta go check something." He then ran up a tree and sniffed the air again and said to himself "I know I've picked this scent out before...but who is it? I better fly around for a bit."
He then said down to the others "I'm going for a short fly, I'll be back soon."

Dante tilted his head as his friend took off, then said...
"Yeah. I'm gonna go check out the scent I just picked up, too. You coming Hunter?"
He leapt into a tree, then took off running and jumping along the various branches...
Virgil and Motochika had also ceased fighting, with each tending to their own pursuits.
"My apologies, Zaine. I had no intention of injuring you. I am sorry."
Motochika said, bowing his head to the young Longneck...
"So. Vylor. You're a... pretty good fighter. That was more entertainment than I've had in a long while."
Virgil said, sitting back against a tree, a satisfied smile on his face...

Lady, meanwhile, had found Denton, and was watching him from atop a nearby tree...

Zaine spat out some blood and looked up towards Motochika. "Well, I needed that, so it worked out for both of us I guess." He laughed a little and slowly got up. "I guess I'll just rest up a little."

Hunter smiled and said "No, you two go on ahead, I'll stay here." She then sat down and took a deep breath and sighed as she thought where her friends were going.

'Thanks. I have trained in multiple forms of fighting and weaponry. I am known back in my home as the weapon master.' Vylor replied. 'That kick was pretty powerful. I'll need to recover for a little while.'

Denton hearing the voice in his head became somewhat alert, half wondering if he was still in his dream, or if Kragoth had returned with another voice in his head.
' Who are you?' he asked in thought, hoping the disembodied voice in his head would answer back

Longtail was almost there, and the scent he had been following, was stronger then ever..and then it hit him! Denton! He started calling out to him "Denton...can you hear me? Denton! Denton? Where are you?"

"I'm here!" called Denton frantically, he recognized the voice at once as Longtail's and was glasd to hear it. "I'm here!" he called again "Please come! I'm lost! (again) and its getting creepy out here!"

Dante ran alongside Longtail, but then thought better of making his presence known to Denton immediately...
"Hey Longtail! Go on ahead and meet up with Denton. I'll...Wait here, so I don't scare him. At least you two know each other, so...yeah... I'd like you to introduce me to him..."
He said, stopping in place and nodding at Longtail...

Denton, it is me, Argaya. You can't recognize my voice? she projected again.
'Denton! It is good to see you again.' Vylor exclaimed as he walked over to Denton.

"I'm glad to see someone familiar again!" exclaimed the tiny longneck, and he replied to the voice in his head 'I think I remember you... its been one of those times...'

Longtail landed next to Denton and smiled as he said "It is good to see you again. How have you been..and more importantly how do you keep getting lost around here?" He then looked back and said "Oh, I almost forgot! Denton I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. His name is Dante, and he's a friendly sharptooth...just like Chomper."
Longtail nodded to the bushes behind him and smiled hoping Denton would be happy to make a new friend.

Dante stepped out from the bushes, wearing his typical easygoing smile.
"Yo. I'm Dante. Nice to meetcha Denton!"
He said, waving cheerfully...

"Uh... its a pleasure to meet you!" said Denton awkwardly, after having made friends with Chomper and hearing of other friendly sharptooths, he half wondered how many friendly sharptooth there were.
"My name is Denton." he said "The one who... always gets lost."

Longtail smiled awkwardly and said "Now Denton...perhaps all you need to remember is one simple thing." He then looked up and in the distance was the largest tree in the valley. He then said "That is the Tree of Life...if you ever get lost...just head for that tree and once you reach it, you will be in the direct center of the whole valley. That's how I get around when I get confused."
Longtail turned to Dante and then back to Denton as he gave a sheepish smile before adding "And don't worry Denton...Dante really is a nice sharptooth...he saved my life before, and he eats green food...want me to prove it?"

'Dante is also an excellent fighter. He has helped me train at times. His brother, Virgil, is equally skilled. Right, Dante?' Vylor added.

Denton was looking back and forth both at the flyer and the sharptooth as they chattered
"That's interesting." he said with a nod. "Say, where are the others?"

Dante thought for a second, scratching his head, then said...
"Oh yeah! They're back in the clearing! You wanna come meet everyone?"
He asked, beaming happily

Longtail smiled and laughed as he said "Easy Dante..." He turned to Denton and said "Well are you ready to go meet the others? And don't forget what I told you about the Tree of Life."

"I wont" nodded Denton "And yes, I'm ready to go back and meet with the others."

Longtail smiled and said "Alright, let's go." He started to walk off and then turned to Dante and asked "Hey you coming or not?"

"Yeah. Wait up, Longtail!"
Dante yelled, running off after his friend...

By now, Zaine's wounds had healed, but he still felt a little sore all around. "Man, I hope I'm strong enough to fight those sharpteeth. I don't want to die, but I will if it means saving the Great Valley." He then looked around and noticed some of his friends were missing. "By the way, where's Longtail and Dante? They've been gone for quite some time."

At that moment Longtial along with Dante and Denton walked through the bushes with a smile on his face as he said "It's about time we cleared those silly trees..." He then looked over at Zaine and said "Denton meet Zaine. He's another good friend of ours."

Zaine smiled and bowed his head. "I think I remember you Denton. You and I met back before Kor attacked. Well, it's nice to meet you again." He then looked to Longtail. "Speaking of which, anybody see Kor? He was here, but now I can't seem to find him." He still hadn't made up his mind yet about whether he was going to join Kor's herd or not, but he still had to find a way for him and Longtail to settle their differences so they could protect the Great Valley more efficiently.

Longtail stopped in his tracks and his eyes held alot of fear as he jumped into the nearest tree and climbed about half way up, before sticking his head out and asked "Korr is still here...WHY?! I thought the elders sent him away!" He then looked to Zaine and asked "Wait...did you actually see Korr in the valley?"

'Longtail, his herd would be a useful alliance. They have numbers we don't.' Vylor replied. 'It would be best not to alienate allies when we need them the most.'
(OOC: We should start to pick up the pace a little bit and get ready to head to the battle. I'm not saying in the next ten posts, but in the near future, we should be preparing.)

Zaine was confused at this point. Longtail should know that Kor was in the valley, because he told him that he brought the red horn. "Longtail, don't you remember? I told you that I brought him to the valley because he offered to help us defend it against the sharpteeth. Also he saved my life during that terrible stomr, remember? Don't tell me you forgot already." Of course, he wouldn't be surprised if the flyer did forget. Longtail after all was not on the best terms with Kor, so why would he want to remember it?

Longtail looked confused at first and then indeed did remember that Zaine brought him here. He smiled sheepishly but still refused to come out of the tree stating: "I'm safer where he can't get to me...and stomp me to death. So if you see him again...could you all..uhh...lie and tell him I've left the valley for...uhh...other lands...or something?!
Hunter couldn't help buy laugh at Longtail's statement and said "No.. you silly little flyer. This is something you have to deal with on your own."
Longtail frowned as he said "I was afraid you'd say that to me."

Zaine walked up to Longtail. "Longtail, he promised me he wouldn't hurt you. Besides, all he cares about right now is helping the valley." Or at least I hope that's all he cares about. "Longtail, if it makes you feel better, I will make sure Kor does nothing to harm you. Now can you please get down from that tree? You look really silly." He laughed a little.
"Besides, I'm terrible at lieing."

Motochika leapt down from the tree he was resting on, bowed, and introduced himself, saying...
"Ah. So you are Denton? It is an honor to meet you. I am Motochika Chosokabe.'
As he finished speaking, Virgil stood up as well, nodding curtly and adding...
"And I'm Virgil. Dante's brother."
The pair of them looked at Denton, waiting for his response...

Denton blushed having received such sudden attention.
"Yes, I'm Denton. Its nice to meet you both." he said

Longtail sighed and nodded to Zaine and climbed back down the tree. He then walked over and asked "I still don't trust Korr at all...but I do trust you Zaine. So I'll give him a chance, but if he so much as blinks funny...I'm gonna fight him, or run. That's all I can do."
Hunter then stepped next to Longtail and said "Don't worry I've always got your back covered. And yours too Zaine." She then smiled as she looked over to Dante and giggled.

Dante nodded at Longtail, and at Zaine.
"Same here. I have no intention of letting anyone hurt any of my friends. Or anyone else that's...important to me."
He blushed as he said the last phrase and looked at Hunter, laughing a little...

Zaine nodded. "All right then. Now the only problem is where is he. He better not be trying to trick us, because he promised me he wouldn't. Then again, I still can't forget what he did the last time we made a deal. Of course, last time he didn't save my life from a falling tree."

Dante looked at Zaine, raising an eye ridge...
"Mmmh? I never heard about that. What happened?"
he asked, curiosity piqued...

Zaine looked nervously at Longtail. "Well, I don't think I should get into full detail about what happened between them, so the punch line is he broke our agreement. Well, during that terrible storm a little while ago, I went out looking for you guys when I got stuck and a tree was about to fall on me. Kor saved me, and he promised to help protect the valley AND settle his differences with Longtail in a nonviolent manner."

As Zaine gave his explination Longtail had tried his hardest not to laugh...but failed miseribly as he fell over and started laughing his merry little head off. He wanted to reply but was too busy laughing and trying to breath. After a few more moments of laughter Longtail finally quieted down attempting to get his breathing under control.
He then said "Protecting the valley...AND settle the fight between us. This must be my lucky day." He then looked at Zaine with a serious face and said "Korr may keep one end of his deal but never both." And he put as much emphisis on the word never as he could.
"So he's either going to protect the valley and then stomp on you, or he's going to let the valley meet its end, and still come after you?" asked Hunter who had overheard Zaine speaking.
Longtail's only response to her question was..."Yep."

Zaine had a feeling Longtail would respond like that, but he had to find some way to convince him otherwise. "You have every right to not trust him, but why can't you think about this through my point of view? When I last saw him lying on the ground near death, and he surrendered and promised to leave, I knew he truly meant it. He came back to save me, and then he made me a promise that I won't let him break. Why can't you give him a chance?" Zaine knew if he pushed Longtail any further he would regret it, but he prepared himself for what was coming next.

Longtial honestly had to struggle to keep his anger in check..and it really wasn't working too well...and just as he was about to be overcome with his anger...he took a deep breath and looked Zaine in the eyes. He could tell his friend was speaking the truth...and after realizing this, Longtail's anger dissapeared as he slumped to the ground tried.
With a solem sigh replied "I know Zaine...I should always give others a chance. Alright...if you say I can trust Korr, then I will. If he attacks me, well...then let's just hope that doesnt' happen."

Zaine mentally sighed and was thankful that Longtail didn't completely tear him apart because of what he was asking him to do. He could tell how much Longtail did not want to work alongside with Kor. "I hope he doesn't ry anything either. Don't worry, this time I will die before he lays a horn on you. That I promise you."

Longtail took a deep breath as he sighed and said "He's right behind me....isn't he?"
At first Hunter was a little concerned as to what Longtail was talking about, but as she looked behind him she smirked mentally as she saw who was standing behind her friend.
Indeed as if on cue, Korr walked into the clearing and sat down focusing solely on Zaine with a smile.

Zaine noticed Kor was smiling at him, but it seemed he was ignoring Longtail. What is he planning? "Kor, where were you? Those sharpteeth are on their way here and we need you to help protect the valley, like you promised." Then he hesitated before asking the next question. "By the way, where's that other red horn that was with you before?"

"Kor. Good to see you again, my friend. What news of the enemies approaching the Valley?"
Virgil asked, nodding his head slightly at the Red Horn as he approached...

Kor continued to smile as he replied to Zaine "Well, Meyla is...well...setting up a nest...for us here in the valley." With a blush he looked over at Virgil and said "I have no new news to report, however I seem to have this impending sense of doom. I may just be getting a little....anxious."
Longtail grinned as he turned to face Korr and locked eyes with the red horn. For several moments, neither one making a move, however as the moments passed by Longtail's grin became noticeably wider as he then showed several of his teeth. 'This is going to be a very interesting encounter.' Thought Longtail to himself.
Hunter was getting worried, not for Longtail or Korr, but for everyone else nearby...the last time she remembered Longtail having that grin...well let's just say things happened. "I'm going to be over that way." said Hunter pointing with her foot as she slowly backed away.

Dante nodded, and he quickly turned...
"Ah...Yeah. I'm gonna go stand with Hunter..."
as he moved off a ways.
"It isn't just you, Kor. We all feel it coming. The question now isn't if, but rather when?"
Virgil said, looking off at the mountains that ringed the Valley...
"Agreed. The tension here is so much like when Tosa was attacked. Oh. My apologies, good sir. I have yet to introduce myself. I am Motochika Chosokabe. It is an honor to meet you."
Motochika said, bowing slightly...

Korr turned to Motochika and nodded his head as he replied "Nice to meet you too." he then turned his attention back to Longtail.
Longtail for his part raised his wing in the air and said "Don't anybody move. I have something to say and I'm only saying it once!"
Hunter stopped moving and Korr had an amused look on his face as he asked "What's on your mind kid?"
Longtail smirked and said "You and I Korr have been at odds for many cold times. After I hear you are coming to help us...I got a little suspicious, but befriending someone I trust and saving his life is something I respect. Thank you for saving Zanies life." There was a pause as he took a breath and continued "It is with a very confused honor that I will accept your help in protecting the valley."
Korr smiled and nodded his head and replied "I am glad you trust me. I will prove to you that my trust is real....Longtail."

Vylor was listening to the other's conversations when he suddenly remembered that night he saw those sharpteeth. There was a herd of raptors with them. 'I think we should prepare defenses. We will be facing a herd of fast-buyers as well. We should set up defenses. Any ideas?' he said.

Virgil started, then wheeled about to face Vylor.
"Raptors? Are you sure?"
Then he guessed that Vylor wouldn't make a joke about something this important, and he said...
"I was afraid this would happen. That herd is named Ressentiment, and... I created it. To get my revenge on you, Dante. But it would appear they serve a new master now. Please. Allow me to lead a team against them."
He said, rubbing his nose agitatedly...
