Hey, guys :wave! I'm working on a random data project for college statistics, and I thought I would post my hours of sleep survey question here in the form of a poll, if you're interested in participating. I also have data from folks I know in real life (coworkers, classmates, friends, etc.). If you'd like to vote, fantastic and thank you very much :)!

I get maybe between 5-8 hours of sleep
-
I get about 7 hours of sleep a night; and sometimes, I take 1-2 naps a day.
-
My answer would be "not enough."
So yeah, 5-6 hours.
-
Usually around 6 hours. I would like it to be more like 8 hours, but the sleep apnea has been preventing that lately.
-
Yeah I don't get the full eight I keep waking up every two to three hours than I fall back asleep
-
10-12 during childhood
9 during early school
8 during late school
6 hours during university
6-7 hours now, during my job days, 8-9 hours now during weekends
-
Usually I sleep around nine hours on holidays but otherwise around 8 hours.
-
Growing up I didn't sleep much at all. I use to pull all nighters and went to bed at like 5:00 AM and woke up at 9:00-10:00 AM.
-
On average, I'd say 5-6 hours but it can range from 0 up to 11 hours or so :p After a night of only 3 hrs of sleep I just got some 10 hours last night so...yeah it changes, especially if I don't have to g et up in the morning :p

Up until last December, I used to typically get around 7 hours, regardless of how late I went to bed. Lately, I've been using the alarm feature on my new phone to ensure I get up early enough that I can get stuff done during the day. The downside is that I'm now reduced to anywhere from 6 hours to sometimes as little as 3 hours, depending on how late I stay up and how early I want to get up.
-
As of late I'm getting more sleepy now witch is good since I need my sleep.
-
Only about 5-6 hours, which isn't enough, but oftentimes I just can't force myself to go to bed before 1-2 AM, even if I have work to do in the morning. :x
-
I'm the same way as you I try to fall back asleep also but it's hard to do that since your body thinks it got the full eight hours of sleep.
-
My usual sleep is between 7-9 hours, although sometimes I try to go over that to get some more rest, and it hardly ever works anymore due to my current sleep pattern. :(
-
mine hasn't really changed since my last post :opetrie
-
Usually around 6-8 hours each night, sometimes more, other times less.
-
With the exception of some sleepless nights, I'm at a steady 8-9 hours. It is extremely important for your body to get enough rest, so I usually head off early since I have to get up early. Usually start sleeping somewhere between 10 and 11pm and wake up between 6 and 7am. I don't change my schedule during weekends. This has worked great for me! Another big upside? I don't need an alarm clock. Much better to wake up naturally.
-
On the average, I get about 7 hours per night, and I prefer to get out of bed at around 9 AM. Even then, I often have a hard time getting out of bed since I have several very comfortable blankets that seem to let the bed "eat me" as my mother puts it. Sometimes I feel like Petrie when he's sleeping with his snuggling stick! LOL! Oh, and I don't use an alarm clock, either, frankly because I don't like jump scares.

I tend to get around 6.5 hours for weekdays. I go to bed around 11pm and wake up a little before 6am for work.

That's similar to how I am. My sleep can be pretty erratic (which other GoF members have certainly noticed before). If I have nights with minimal sleep, then my body will make up for the lost sleep on a different night. I started recording my sleep each night with my Fitbit about a month and a half ago, and my statistics have been interesting to say the least.
Generally, though, I tend to get enough sleep. I average around eight hours a night per week, even if the nights themselves vary.
-
On average, I get like 6 hours of sleep a night, not including the hours where I stay in bed in the morning because I'm either too tired or too lazy to get up. The least amount of sleep I've gotten is around 2 hours, and the most I've ever gotten is like 10 hours I think. Ugh, I could choose to get more sleep, but yet I'm spending all that time on my IPad at night, and eventually I'd shut the case and go to sleep. But as you know, time flies by quickly and it'd be way past midnight when that happens. I've been trying to go to bed earlier recently, with moderate success.
-
I got 11 hours of sleep last night. I must've needed it.

Isn't it quite sad when you get much more hours of sleep on the weekend than the weekdays? I feel that waking up at 5:30 or 6:00 AM doesn't really leave much room for a lot of sleep, doesn't it? I could get 8 hours realistically when you sleep at 10:00 PM, but come on now. I'm still pretty awake and active that time. 12:00 AM is the earliest that I feel completely ready to go to bed, and 11:00 PM is when I start to feel it. I actually would sleep at 10:00 PM, but only if I have to make up for the lack of sleep the previous night or something.
-
That was often my experience as well. My sleep would get cut short on weekdays simply because I could never fully get used to waking up that early. I take it you're not a morning person either?
