"Believe me, Littlefoot," Cera replied, eyeing a certain someone who wouldn't defend himself, "It's not like you'd've gotten any with him around anyway."

LBT Projects / Special Gift for the GOF!
« on: December 25, 2008, 07:53:02 PM »
Thank you so much. You're amazing! Normally I would say what I'm thankful for, but the way you didn't mention it but simply gave directions to find your gift, I gather that you want every member to be surprised by seeing it for themselves. So don't worry. As far as I'm concerned, your gift will continue to surprise those who take the time to check it out. But all the work and time this must have taken you, I'm very touched. I wish I had something to give to you in return, but I'm sorry, I have nothing but words. I express my extreme gratitude and praise for what you've prepared for us. How thoughtful of you. Blessings to those who do good expecting nothing in return. Merry Christmas to you, although those words won't mean anything for much longer. But you did a good thing for us. Those words will be true forever.

The Party Room / LBT Trivia Game

I feel a bit awkward with where I'm going with this post. I just found this section today so I haven't answered anything. So without an okay from any authority that I can just ask a question of my own for free, I can't, as it would be unfair to the one who has actually earned the right to ask. But by looking at dates, I noticed that this topic has been left alone for over a month before. But surely people still like to check this section out, so I'll try to say something to keep others occupied until this section officially resumes. So since it wouldn't be fair for me ask something, maybe I can hold your interest by giving an answer and until this gets really popular again and the next person asks an official question, perhaps you can try to figure out which question would have had to have been asked for my answer to fit. Here is my answer as if a real question had actually been asked:

Wow, good question! I'm pretty sure I know one movie that fits this, but since you want two, let me check my facts again to make sure about another, although someone will probably beat me to it.

All right, I got back just in time! No one else responded yet so I can still answer. Here are two movies that fit the criteria that was asked. The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water is one. One character does it to Littlefoot three times for sure. The first two times it happens, it involves all five characters, not just Littlefoot. But the same character does it to only Littlefoot toward the very end. The second movie it happens in is The Land Before Time VI: The Secret of Saurus Rock. One character works alone to do it to Littlefoot twice. The third time it happens, this character works together with another popular character to do it to Littlefoot. I have met the criteria in two movies, though it happens in a variety of circumstances.

Now, try to guess what my question would have been. I'm not cheating anyone out of their rightful turn and I only want to keep this interesting to the fans of this topic who still come here. So when this continues as it was meant to, please ignore this post. New posts can be very far apart here so I'm just being careful, but I know that the long absences that occur from the usuals here are for very good, valid reasons. Limited internet access, busy with scholastic and personal affairs, and/or a heavy work schedule etcetera can keep the most dedicated visitors occupied. As a member here I understand this and I'm trying to contribute what I can while some of the main faces who are normally around this issue are very preoccupied with important issues. I am very sorry if I'm overstepping bounderies in my attempt here and will stop immediately if asked to. I'm just trying to do my part as a member of this community. Later!

"Zealous as ever to avoid any fighting. You're one strange sharptooth," Cera remarked, rolling her eyes as she backed down. She couldn't bring herself to actually fight a "hatchling" anyway. She didn't want to be called a bully.

The Fridge / What did you get for Christmas 08?
« on: December 25, 2008, 12:36:14 PM »
All my siblings and I always know what we're getting. Since it was so hard for our parents to know what we like enough to want for Christmas, a while ago, my mother made things simple. She has an amazon.com account and she has each of us take turns putting things in her online cart as long as each of us stay within the range she set up. But every year, she always gets one extra thing for each us that she absolutely knows we want but didn't ask for so we can always have a surprise. This time my list was:
1. A complete N.E.S., otherwise known as the regular nintendo. Complete as in coming with all original parts- the box, manual, controllers, cords, core system, etcetera.
2. An advanced sega saturn controller.
3. Kingdom Hearts: Re Chain of Memories. System- PS2.
4. Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs. System- GBA.
5. ReBoot. System- PS.
6. Sewer Shark. System- SMCD. Considering the system's rarity these days, SMCD stands for Sega Mega CD.
7. Caution: Seaman. System- DC.
As for my surprise, it was a collection of all the old claymation Christmas movies in one box set. I've always loved those. I got a fair amount of money, a gift card for Game Stop, and as usual, lots of chocolate and sour candy.
You probably think because of most of my choices that I am a serious old school gaming fan. Well, you're abolutely right! Highly detailed, full freedom, three dimensional games can be a bit overwhelming for me with my legally blind left eye, so I stick to older games mostly, unless I am a big fan of the series, like Kingdom Hearts. In that case, the exciting story is worth not being able to fully enjoy the gameplay. I have such bad depth perseption that most sports are out of the question, so I usually stick to indoor activities, thus explaining the reason for the theme of my lists. I like this topic. It is always pleasant to see the tastes of people my age these days. It can also show me a bit of your personality, because people don't normally ask for things that just aren't "them." This is quite the learning experience. Please continue.

General Land Before Time / Ever been teased?

Quote
"Hey, isn't that Littlefoot?"

When I explained why to him, he made a laugh and said:

"That's good for the girls"

Whatever he meant by that.

Well, I have heard similar things on this topic before when I've met some people in person. If there is a comparison between his comment and others comments I've heard outside of this haven, I should be able to interpret. I know people who find The Land Before Time to be "sentimental mushy stuff". And then we have the extremely biased belief that I personally do not support in any way: "girls are so into all that emotional stuff." I know some girls like emotional entertainment, but not girls in general. Therefore, the completely irrational "logic" that some people spout by combining these two unprecidented theories, is that if girls are into something, say, The land Before Time, and a guy is into the same thing and makes it clear to them that he is, or simply pretends to like it, he could be more of a "chick magnet." Ugh. Even though I am merely repeating what others have expressed and not speaking my own thoughts, filling one of my posts with such garbage is making me sick already. If that is not what he meant, my apologies for wasting your time. But since several others actually believe this type of thing, my response could help you in understanding your situation.

General Land Before Time / Who knows you watch LBT? Do you watch it alone?

When a year or so passes, unlike most people my maturity increases dramatically.
Man you're lucky. Everyone I know has said since I was a teenager that I have the maturity of a ten year old. Helpful in seeing things innocently but isn't ideal for a twenty one year old in this society. Sorry, but I couldn't resist responding to that.

Quote
There seems to be a certain age at which you are "supposed" to stop watching these things. My parents do not think it's normal that I still watch LBT. They think that at the age of 15, you should be over stuff like that. Not even one of my friends know that I like it. It seems that society has made a certain age limit to a movie and if you do not fall into that age limit but you still watch it, you are considered to be wierd or immature. I find that it is normal to like LBT at any age. I usually watch it whenever I get the chance. I have all of the lbt movies on my ipod and I sometimes watch them on the bus when no one is paying attention. I would be horribly embarrassed if a kid at school got a hold of my ipod and found LBT videos on it. I don't know why I would be embarresed. I only watch LBT on the computer at home because I can encrypt the videos so no one knows I have them. I bought all of the dvd's and ripped them onto the computer. Then I threw the origional dvd's away. Why are we so ashamed to like these video's? Why are we so concerned with others opinion? Why do people like to degrade others who still like LBT when they are past the age of 11? My actions and reactions are illogical when my life involves LBT and others. Where is the logic in embarressment and why do these movies make us embarressed? It seems to me from all of the previous responses that we typically watch LBT when we are alone. Is it truly because we can't find anyone to watch it with or is it because we are so afraid of becoming embarressed and what other people think?

Anyway, it comes down to what you value most, your interests or reputation. Do you care more about the things you like or more about others liking you? Some people like myself, have no emotion about being teased unless it's true. If someone says to me, "You're very unattractive," yeah, that saddens me because I know it's true every time I see myself. But if someone says, "The Land Before Time is stupid," I almost want to laugh because I always find it funny when people say things that they know nothing about. It's obvious when someone knows nothing about something, because when they insult it, they can't give a valid reason why they did it.

The Land Before Time, I hate to admit, is one of those topics that someone will always give you a hard time about. But that doesn't have to a be a problem, unless you value others' views over your own. It is easy for those that don't value others' opinions about their likes and dislikes, but I haven't met too many people like that. It isn't that you're embarrased that you like The Land Before Time, otherwise you would stop coming here. When people give someone a hard time, sometimes that person feels bad that their taste is being rejected, because then the person feels rejected, and the person feels that now he or she doesn't look quite so good in front of other people. So to protect your social standing, it may seem easier to hide that you like it, but then people won't see you for who you really are, but as someone that fits in with them, but however comfortable you may be, you know that you really don't connect with them. It is hard for people to be happy when they value others' approval so much that they can't be themselves. Being who you want to be and expressing yourself will always make you feel better and can be pretty fun. This is an idea. When someone gives you a hard time saying that show is for kids and that people are supposed to stop watching that kind of stuff early on, you could always show them the current 271 members here who are teenagers and up. Even if they think all of us here are crazy, they'll at least know that your not some one of a kind fanatic that thinks differently than everyone else your age. But I believe the song called "The Lesson" from The Land Before Time VIII: The Big Freeze really sums up what I'm trying to say here.

Wanting respect is a good thing, but only if you let people respect who you really are. If you love something with all your heart, you need to give that thing what it deserves and stand up for it. Who knows? Maybe when people try to talk down to you, you could go on and on about what's so great it about until those guys get so fed up they leave you alone about it so they won't have to hear about it anymore. But I suppose it is a bit difficult to understand exactly what your going through. See, I like myself, but love The Land Before Time, so I talk about and praise it wholeheartedly regardless of what happens to me. As long as it's being loved and I can show others enough about it so they might love it too, well, I will continue to be happy, so persecution isn't an issue for me. Without any real evils of The Land Before Time, what could anyone possibly say to make me feel bad about it? How can someone go through life content wanting to believe in something but not being able to admit it? Once you decide if The Land Before Time is more important than how it makes people see you, you can also be one who respects others' opinions while being unaffected by them.

General Land Before Time / Who knows you watch LBT? Do you watch it alone?

I envy the people here who have been able to share time with another fan in front of a Land Before Time movie or episode. I don't and probably never will understand that pleasure. Those who have read my previous post in this are probably thinking, "Uh, you just contradicted yourself The Friendly sharptooth. You recently said a couple people did watch it with you before." No, this is no contradiction. Previously I talked about watching it with someone in general. Now I'm talking about watching it with someone that actually likes it too. Everyone that has sat with me while watching this, did so to be polite to me. None of them ever expressed any liking for it. Merely, "I guess I'll watch it with you. I'm bored anyway." They couldn't pay attention through a single movie and never said a word about it afterwards. While I appreciated the company somewhat, I only wish there had been different attentions, like, oh I don't know, maybe something simple like, THEY ACTUALLY WANTED TO WATCH IT! So in body, I have watched it with company. But in spirit, I have been alone in front of that screen when those dinosaurs showed up my entire life and will most likely continue to be so. If anyone has watched in with another fan one time, you are more fortunate that I could ever be in such a thing. And those who share my loneliness will continue to have my sympathy until the day they meet someone face to face that will end their solitude. In that case I will rejoice for I'd know that one more person doesn't have to suffer as I have. Stay strong. Unlike me who lives far away from other people, the rest of you have a chance to meet the one to strip you of your loneliness. Good luck.

The Welcome Center / Hello
« on: December 24, 2008, 04:12:31 AM »
In response to your opening question, I will provide the best response that I can, based on my limited knowledge of the subject. I am not a Top Gear series fan YET because until ten minutes ago, I have never heard of it. But because I love funny shows and my new brother is interested enough to ask about it here, next chance I get, I promise that I will study on the internet everything there is to know about it to satisfy the curiosity that you have awakened within me. I have a special gift. I can become a fan of a something just from knowing all about it and without even enjoying it. And it must be an excellent television series at that since out of all the shows in the world, you asked specifically about these ones. After I understand them fully, perhaps we can chat about them later, all right?

Now for the introduction. You're the first member to join after me, making this the first time I can intruduce myself to a new friend. I am going to truly saver this welcome. You won't find a forum with nicer people. They don't just care of what you can contribute. No this a special kind of forum. The guys here actually care about YOU. I have been here around a week and I've gotten so many personal messages showing how much they care. When I say care, I don't mean like offering you drugs for a special discount or anything. I got a message the first day because someone wanted to get to know me and be friends, and I continue to get friendly messages, multiple of which wishing me a merry Christmas. I have been on a lot of forums before, and I've never gotten a single message before. You'll most likely not get agreed with on every topic, but you'll definately get support. This place isn't just group of friends I've made. I consider everyone here my family, because we all find one thing we have in common (look to the title of the forum for a hint). But if you are sure that you want to be our new brother, you'll have to let us throw mud on you first.

I thought I understood The Land Before Time completely, but when I started reading the posts, I was shocked at the countless things I've never thought of before. It is hard to remember my first day, because after reading people's stuff for just a bit, I blacked out and later heard someone saying 1, 2, 3 Clear! Yeah, this place is that incredible. And while none of it is mine (yet) this place has the most amazing fanfiction. I love it all! And if you've been waiting for Chomper to get a girl who loves him back and you like a lot of adventure and affection, try Sharptooth Valley.

The administraters here aren't what I expected either. I expected to hear people who are always deathly serious and only cared that every rule is left untouched completely. But they include themselves with everyone else in the same way that the members do! They joke around, are incredibly friendly, and really show they care. The first time an administrater completely agrees with you on a Land Before Time issue, it sends a tingle down your spine. It feels so good to know that the authority is on the same page as you. Picture getting a new job, then having the owner come up and tell you how he loves what your doing. Best of all, since everyone sees a wise leader complimenting you, that increases the others' perspective of your work too. Happiness and prestige- oh yeah! It feels good every time, but the first taste of chocolate is the sweetest.

Everyone here will listen to you because they want to hear what you have to say because you're our friend. How can a true Land Before Time not value friendship above most things? We won't put you down if we disagree. That's another good thing about this place. If you say something, and someone feels differently, they're not just going to say, "You're wrong. You don't know what you're talking about." We will always tell you if we disagree, but we'll also tell you why, so you can understand where we're coming from. But if we don't see eye to eye, we will still respect you and your opinion and won't do things to make you feel bad.

Remember, we're just a typical family that uses different words. The adminstraters are the parents in that we can always come to them with a problem and they will listen intently to try to make things better for us in any way, for they want justice for those they've taken under their wing. Members are the brothers and sisters that the parental figures look after. But since most of us aren't blood related, you never know if you might find that special someone that you connect with here. We can play together here all day, but must follow our new parents' rules. Yeah, rules may seem like restrictions, but they actually give us more of a chance of being happy here. If our new parents here didn't care about us when they let us into their home here, they wouldn't have tried so hard to make rules that protect us and make us feel safe. Sometimes the siblings here can fight a bit, but our parents keep a watchful eye on us here and keep things from getting too far. And they're the type who will be calm and collected and thus be kind when having to break up something that shouldn't be. And like all good parents, they listen to both sides of an argument. It is a very exciting time when welcoming a new brother or sister into the family. So happy we're a famly and you're one of us now, bro.

Now I come to one of the best things here: you can completely relax about saying how you feel, because we don't judge people here. Provided, the manners we use when speaking can be an issue, but I have yet to meet a person here I can call "rude," since sounding angry and acting rudely are two completely different things. If you aren't fully satisfied with the overall feeling we send you, it comes with a prepaid envelope and you are welcome to send it back with complaints that will be fully reviewed. This place houses all kinds of people, so trust me, you couldn't possible not fit in. Sorry, but I feel if used sparingly, a double negative can really add a bit of flavor to a conversation.

Just want to say welcome to Gang of Five Airlines! If I can do anything to make your stay a more pleasant one, there is a flashing button above your head called PM to The Friendly Sharptooth. After pressed and used properly, I will come as quickly as possible to try to enhance your overall experience. Once again, thank you for choosing Gang of Five Airlines and we all hope you continue to choose us for your Land Before Time forum needs.

General Land Before Time / Odd Facts of the LBT World
« on: December 22, 2008, 11:20:53 AM »
Good point. It would be boring to just watch him eat for a while but the way it shows him from start to finish with two leaves is still a bit unreal. Based on your opinion, I think I know how Littlefoot could have eaten a lot and still have taken mere seconds of screen time. What if it showed him start eating then the screen faded away and showed something with action, like the others playing, then it can zoom back to him right as he's done, and the in-between shot shows that some time had gone by, enough for him to have a meal, not a bite ot two? Or perhaps is that still too much focus on such an issue?
Quote
I'd have to check out to make sure, but I think there may even be LBT sequels where we never actually see one of the major characters eat at all.
If some movies and parts don't show them eating, then that would be better than this, because we could at least safely assume that they actually ate properly. But they should be more creative in time saving than giving a young longneck a meal fit for a young big mouth/swimmer.

General Land Before Time / This must happen a lot!

she didn't even thank Littlefoot for saving her life. That's not like Ducky's character so I conclude that this has happened many times.
Based off Ducky's well known character of gratitude, the fact that she didn't thank Littlefoot for something makes me think, and here's what I think (Ruby). From personal experience, I have a pretty good theory. I have always been the type to thank everyone for everything. But something happened. Certain things others did for me happened so often, my brain registered them as routine instead acts of kindness and made it more difficult to remember a "thank you." For example, my father would always get the milk out for me in the morning when I got up, and I would say "thank you", or the more casual, "thanks" when I was still tired. But after it had happened for so long I would sometimes forget to say "thank you." I still appreciated it, but it just registered in me that this was "supposed to happen." I still thanked him for things he did less often, but in a routine situation, it became tough. Because of this, I believe that yes, this probably happened to Ducky so often that it became "part of her life", not as much "someone helping her" as it used to be. Realizing an act of kindness made me remember my manners. When routine rubs out realization, the mind sometimes overlooks the gratitiude that it should express.

General Land Before Time / Who knows you watch LBT? Do you watch it alone?
« on: December 22, 2008, 12:39:32 AM »
My views on how I feel about The Land Before Time and if anyone knows I like it can be pretty much summed up on the topic Honesty. But the whole "Do You Watch it Alone?" thing, well, that wasn't exactly asked in Honesty so I can answer that one here. About three or so people watched it with me once or twice in my entire life, but the last time was many years ago, and that was it. So yeah, I watch it alone. Have been for a long time. My dad has told me for years that people my age don't like The Land Before Time except for "childish" me. (Sigh) These last years, if I ask my family to watch something on television with me, they'll usually say, "As long as it isn't The Land Before Time." (Sigh again) After coming here, I saw how many other people who aren't "kids" like it besides me. That knowledge is comforting, but I still have yet to meet someone face to face who will watch it with me since I was a teenager. So to keep me from being alone when I watch it, I simply- wait, nevermind. There is NOTHING I can do to keep from being alone when watching it because I have tried EVERYTHING and I am STILL ALONE when I place one of the DVD's in a player. How utterly annoying. My family acts like it's a forbidden topic and often cuts me off when I try to talk about it. I don't have any friends I can hang out with. A lot of people have closed their minds because of that cursed stereotype: "The Land Before Time is just for little kids." Rattles are for little kids because they can fully enjoy them because they understand them. I shake it, then it makes noise. That actually sums it up. But I doubt a seven year old could grasp half the things discussed here. Kids watch simply to enjoy, but our kind also tries to understand concepts. A child listens to "Friends for Dinner" from V and thinks it's fun to hear. We listen to it and think it's fun to hear yet notice things like since France has yet be established, the song has no reason to contain the phrase "a la mode." Every age can enjoy The Land Before Time, which the current 270 members of teenagers and above has proven. We can enjoy it because we are old enough to grasp its many concepts, yet we are despised frequently for being "too old." No one has a reason to judge us. We chose to keep liking The Land Before Time but we have no control over our age. Age doesn't automatically make people stop liking things, but many think it should for some reason. Blaiming others for reasons beyong their control is like making fun of a person who has freckles, is short, or has a crooked smile. These things make us who we are, and we can't help it that these attributes don't fit into others' list of "cool things." If there is something proven that is evil about The Land Before Time that corrupts people into commiting heinious crimes, fine then. You have an excuse to condemn us because we still stick with it. But our age cannot be controlled with will power, pills, or torture, so we WILL get older everyday. Is treating us differently because we are victims of time like everyone else but chose to hold on to what is dear to us the best that these people can come up with to talk down to us? Next time someone wants to call us immature for liking The Land Before Time or says that there is no way that they would ever watch that, please explain the VALID reason to us for saying so. After all the these years, I am still waiting for one.

General Land Before Time / littlefoots best singing voice
« on: December 21, 2008, 11:06:25 PM »
I don't have much of an answer for this topic. Littlefoot is definately in my top five favorite singers. I also like Ruby, Chomper from the series, Ducky, and Ali, but back to the topic. Littlefoot is a wonderful singer; any song that captures his voice alone, even for a bit is a special pleasure. I will give my three most favorite voices of Littlefoot, from fourth to first. I'm not saying any Littlefoot does a better job than another one, I just enjoy listening to these four the most when it comes to his singing.

4. Anthony Skillman- XIII and the series
Favorite work- How Do You Know?- XIII

3. Thomas Dekker- V-IX
Favorite work- No One Has to be Alone- IX

2. Alex Medlock- X
Favorite work- Adventuring- X

1. Scott McAfee- II-IV
Favorite work- It Takes All Sorts- IV

Littlefoot is quite gifted in song. I could easily see him in a Great Valley choir.

General Land Before Time / It is NOT Littlefoot
« on: December 21, 2008, 10:17:15 PM »
No matter how many times I hear the newer "If We Hold On Together", I think it sounds exactly like a boy wth Aria. Listen. I understand why most everyone feels the way they do. But I understand from personal experience. When I was a young child, before I turned twelve and my voice started getting deeper, I loved to sing. I would sing with all the emotion and drama that I could, to make my voice sound "beautiful." Everyone enjoyed hearing me sing, but the way I sang and because of my high voice, everyone who heard me song would all agree that I sounded exactly like a girl. Considering girls are probably considered much better singers than boys (sigh) I took it as a compliment that I sounded like the most poular type of singer. Because of what I went through though, I believe I recognize the singing style and I'm almost positve it's a young boy, probably years before a teenager with a higher voice like mine was.
Quote
Can anyone check the credits on the video?
I've watched the credits a dozen times, twice just now to be sure, but Thomas Dekker does not appear on the credits, unless my cassette has one small scratch on the tape that conveniently destroyed the one piece of information I was looking for, or I might've overlooked the same thing a dozen times. So while the video can't prove it...
Quote
Aria mentioned that she and Thomas Dekker sung that sing along song version of "If we hold on together". I reckon she must know best. Unless her memory cheated her (I don't think so) it must have been Dekker (Littlefoot) singing there.
I believe that one of the singers can. As for a different sound...
Quote
It could be that they had Littlefoot join Ducky in the sing along tape, while Cera was the other voice on the cd version.

I am pretty sure it is Cera on the cd, after having listened to it over 300 times.
The CD's tone of voices is slightly different, I'll agree, probably because they didn't make the movie and cd at the same time, so the music had to be copied to the other, and that can mess with the sound. But other than tone, the "mystery" voice responds exactly the same. The voice's differential of high and low throughout the song is a perfect match, the force of the words is alike, timing of starting a line is left unaltered, and the harmony effect is unchanged. Not all players make music play exactly alike, but other than sound, the movie and CD act in agreement. Since I am not perfect, I can't always be right. I am actually wrong quite frequently- see the "What dinos would you have wanted to see?" topic for example- so everyone is welcome to disagree with me. Don't be shy becaue I provide evidence. Not everything in this world is absolute. I write what I believe, but when I do so, I will also listen to what othes believe with the same consideration I give my own thoughts. This is my best answer to the topic, but I welcome what anyone else can add here, disagreement or not.

Well, I definately have more Land Before Time songs that I really like than those that I don't enjoy so much, but I'll just list seven of the ones I especially like hearing and why.

On Your Own (VI)- I love dramatic songs, and Littlefoot is such a great singer, so having him do this solo was quite pleasant. It starts with his feelings, then ends with his realization. He actual learns while singing. He has quite the impressive mind which displays nicely through a well written song.

Peaceful Valley (II)- Loved the melody and the significance of most of the lyrics like "Every cloud in the sky, green leaf on a tree, is reminding me, far away dreams really do come tru-u-u-ue." I also liked the way they divided each character's parts at the start. And the fact that it is the only Land Before Time song at the present that starts at the beginning of the movie, but stops and doesn't finish until the credits.

Both vesions of Remebering that I am aware of (The Star Day Celebration and The Missing Fast Water Adventure)- Very pretty sounding song. Ruby sings them so well, and they have a good message about never forgetting what is really important. The one from TSDC really adds to the special feeling too.

Friends for Dinner (V)- The is humorous how Chomper and Littlefoot sing it feeling one way, while the other three who sing feel quite differently. The lyrics don't agree with the times, (soup, stew, a la mode, etcetera) but the song is still fun to hear with its updeat rhythm.

It Takes All Sorts (IV)- Very nice hearing a song against racism in a Land Before Time kind of way. It's Ali's only song, but at least it has a very important message while showing how beautiful of a voice she has. And it shows that Ali can learn a lot faster than most humans. She learns about accepting others in one day, then sings about it as if she had known all about it her whole life. "It takes all sorts to make a world. Short and tall sorts, large and small sorts. To fill this pretty planet with love and laughter. To make it great to live in, tomorrow and the day after... The brightest way, the rightest way, according to reports is simply to take all sorts." Wow. She managed to deduce all the secrets of accepting all types after learning the concept in less then a day. She's amazing!

How Do You Know? (XIII)- Littlefoot has been giving his wisdom to others from the beginning of their friendship. It was nice to hear him finally question himself and have the other three who can sing help him understand what to do. It really shows Petrie, Ducky, and Cera's wisdom truly shine. The dramatic tune completes the moment.

All Land Before Time songs are made for a reason, even if that reason is presented unpleasantly and/or is very difficult to find and understand. And if a song is made mainly to pass the time, make the movie/epsiode a bit longer, and appeal to children who like songs, well, that's still a reason.

General Land Before Time / Land before time covers
« on: December 21, 2008, 07:34:31 PM »
While I agree with what you're all saying, I only had a serious problem with two covers. First, was the DVD cover of The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving. While most will probably disagree with the extremity of my description, on that cover, Littlefoot's expression makes him look goofy and a little brainless. This mainly bothers me because Littlefoot is anything but goofy and brainless. Second was the DVD cover of The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island. It made Chomper look a lot smaller and younger than he had actually become in that movie. That representation of Chomper more resembled his appearance in II than V. Looking at that cover shows almost no sign that he's grown up at all. Yes, there are many cover oddities, as you've all validly pointed out. But these two annoy me the most.

General Land Before Time / Which character would you like chomper

Gee, taking this serious and literally, I actually don't think there would be anyone I'd like to see killed. If it was to happen in an episode, there'd have to be quite a good organizing in the episode's story itself, so it wouldn't seem something... out of context.

Saying it that way must've been a lot easier to write than my response, which is interesting considering we feel the exact same way. It's always difficult getting my long points across without making things complicated. You said it perfectly though: I don't want to see any deaths. I know sharpteeth kill to survive, but at least it's offscreen and they haven't done it to anyone we know since the first movie. Considering how The Land Before Time sequels have proceeded so far, a known death would indeed be out of context without a VERY good reason.

General Land Before Time / Ever been teased?

That's really sad. The only people that make you feel like crap about who you are is your family - the one's who are supposed to love you the most. I'm sorry.

Thank you for your concern. It can be tough, but since all the members here really accept me, I consider you all my family too. A family I can always turn to who really understands me. I appreciate it. Ducky's song about family from VIII pretty much sums up my thoughts.

Technically, Edaphosaurus isn't a dinosaur. So far, Dink is the only cartoon I heard of that incorrectly classifies Edaphosaurus as a dinosaur. Then again they do look like Dimetrodon, another creature incorrectly classified as a dinosaur, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Wow, I had no idea. There I go assuming things as usual. Thanks for clearing this up for me though. One more thing I can know for sure.

The Welcome Center / My apologies for the delay.

Please excuse my rudeness of not introducing myself right away. I've always had the bad habit of getting a job and working there for a while before introducing myself to my coworkers, and I'm afraid that behavior reflects on forums as well. I get in too big a rush to just get down to business. It isn't an excuse though. I'm not saying that to curb your frustration of my behavior, because it is justly placed. I mean, I've been here for days and I just now show up here? You probably think I don't care and have every right to feel that way. "Where teamwork enhances community."  We can't be much of a team if you don't know me, right? I'm already making things difficult. I'll do whatever I can to make things right, and when I'm told to do things, I'll comply. Forgive me.

Now since you probably aren't too interested in selfish people, I'll try not to add too much about me. I am a 21 year old male living in Indiana. I major in English since that is the only subject I actually enjoy doing. I love reading and writing, but most importantly, I love The Land Before Time.

I will never think your ideas are stupid. Honestly. I will most certainly disagree sometimes, but we're all equal people which means our thoughts are equally valid for consideration. Even if I saw things differently than you, if you're going to take the time to post, it's only right that I take the time to see things from your perspective. That is a good way to get to know people, after all.  I will do my best to contribute to, and not slander what you all have so hard and long to build up. Thank you kindly for your time.

Happy Birthday, Saft.
