Title: Road Rovers
Story: A continuation of the series Road Rovers, featuring new adventures and, later on, a romance between Hunter and Colleen.

The alert for a new mission had sounded again. Hunter left the White House for the Rover headquarters and went through the machine, once more becoming a cano-sapien. Following this, he headed off into HQ, looking for the others.

exile was wotking in the training room ' ah hunter, you're late. colleen was just here waiting to go for a little walk with you. ah well, you'll have tro catch her next time ' he grinned i his thicvk russian accent coming through,.

Hunter sighed, slightly embarrassed. "Well, did she say where she was headed right now?" he asked, trying to focus himself for what was to come and also for the impending mission. He wondered what it was. Would it be another scheme by Parvo, or would it be something totally new.

she did bnot say, she simply said she would be back after her walk ' Exile shrugged as he resumed lifting weights..he was the thirdranking member of the rovers, behind Hunter and Colleen..

Hunter sighed and then went to go and wait for Colleen. He began to think about the beautiful collie whom he considered to be his best friend. Inside, he had a secret: he had a secret crush on Colleen, just as she had one on him, though he was exceeding nervous about telling her. "Oh Colleen, how am I going to say this?" he asked himself.

Shag was in the kitchen humming to himself as he was putting a few things into a pot, then adding some spices. As he was done he put each spice jar back into his fur where he had gotten them from. He slowly stirred the pot with a large spoon, taking a taste once in a while to make sure things coming along ok.

Blitz was examining himself in the mirrior as ussual. " Oh, I am so hansome I could kiss m, in fact I will." He said as he started kissing himself.
Unknown to Hunter or the others, A small Black kitten had stowed away with hunter He was Lucky, the Presidential cat, and if hunter didn't want to be fixxed, he'd keep the kitten safe, as the president made clear. The curious kitten snooped around as he too in the site of Road Rover HQ, Until He bumped into Professer Sheperd, known as the Master. " Well Hello you." The Master said as he gentlely picked up the kitten and began stroking Lucky. Lucky Purred contently as he let the Master Pet him.

With Colleen still not present, Hunter had nothing to do but wait for her and the others. He decided to take a walk of his own, deciding that maybe he would run into Colleen while out there. He left the main building and headed into the grounds around HQ.

Sheped found Lucky's Tag as he stroked him. " So you came in with hunter, I'll Have to tell him." The master said as he went to the command center, he got onto the intercom system. "Hunter,report to me, I wish to speak to you in privete." The Master said as his voice was heard inside and outside HQ.

Hunter heard The Master's voice and came running to his office. Taking a deep breath after running so hard, he entered. "You called me, Master?" he asked.

" I found Lucky here by your pod." The master said as Lucky meowed at Hunter. "Given the Adress on his Tag, I assume you know him." The master added, refering to the 1616 Penslyvania avenue adress.
Just then, Muzzle entered the offie, Taking one look at Lucky, his dog desire to chase cats took over as he broke free of his restraints and started barking at Lucky. "Meow!!" Lucky hissed as he took off running out with Muzzle in hote pursuit. They arrived t the Transdogmifier and Lucky jumped up on the controls as Muzzle chased him.
"Scout Heel!" Master ordered in his athoruitarion voice, but it was too late as Lucky entered the Transdogmifier and emerged in armor similer to road rover armor. He was about the size of a five year old child. "What just Hapened?" Lucky asked as the three just stood there in awe.

Hunter took a few steps forward, trying to not look threatening. "You've gone through the same exact transformation that the other and I go through. However, I had no idea it worked on cats," he said.

From outside the office, a soft knock sounded...

Hunter turned, but said nothing. He simply waited for The Master to respond.

"Good, He's here." The maser said a he pushed the intercom. " Rovers, assemble for mission breifing, and be reay to receive a new member." He said
Moments later.
"Rovers, before I breif you on oday's mission, I want you to eet the newest member of your Pack, Gen Murakami." The master said, pushing a button to open the door Gen was Behind. "Gen has been trained by My friend and colleague, Professer Ijen Murakami." The Master said, pulling up the screen. "Profeser Murakami helped me build the Transdogmifier, but General Parvo has taken him, no doubt to copy the Transdogmifier's success for evil, Rovers it is critical you rescue hm and shut down Parvo's latest scheme." The Master said,
"With this puny dog, no way we don't need him slowing us down." Blitz said as he started poking Gen.

Gen glanced at Blitz, then, without hardly moving, grabbed Blitz's finger and flipped him over, grinning slightly.
"What was that about puny? I may not be as big as you, but after all...the bigger they are, the harder they fall."
He said coolly...

Shag turned off everything in the kitchen before heading to the meeting room to hear what their master had to say. He listened to what the master said, waving to the new comer, taking a sandwich out from his fur to eat while their master gave his speech. He watched as he flipped Blitz.

i wouldnt try that again if i were you ' colleen said as she entered the room. murakami is a master of jujitsu. i've done my homework. pleasure to have you on the team General. I'm colleen, second in command of the rovers.' She said.

Gen waved a hand idly.
"It's actually ninjutsu. Same basic idea, though. And please, I'm no general. Gen just happens to be my name is all."

well i'm glad to have you aboard ' colleen replied. ' as long as you keep blitz in line, we're ok exile said..

Hunter looked at the team, momentarily paying special attention to Colleen before coming back to his senses. He was ready to go. "All right, let's hit the road, Rovers!" he exclaimed.

"Another mission? It's a good thing I just took my cookies out of the oven to cool." Shag said.

Hunter entered the transport that they would be taking to their destination. He sat in the pilot's seat and began to activate the great machine. He also waited for the others to board.

Blitz and muzzle boarded. " Don't get Cocky Ninja dog, you got lucky." He said. Littl did any of thm Know, Lucky stowwed away.

Hunter continued to activate the transport as the others continued to board. He was lost in his own thoughts. "Oh Colleen, soon, I will be brave enough to tell you how I feel about you," he said in his mind.

so whats the mission " colleen asked as she buckled in the passenger seat next to Hunter. i';m guessing it involvles the master of gen."

Hunter nodded as Colleen spoke. "You're right, Colleen. We're on our way to save him," he said, trying not to make obvious his attraction to her as they took off.

Shag boarded the transport, making sure everyone else was on before he got on. He didn't want anyone to be left behind, and the more there were the more he could hide behind.
He sat down, strapped himself in then took out a drink and tablet so he could drink and play a video game during the flight there.

Gen ran a hand along his head.
"You're right on that one. My master was a friend of yours for a long time. He created a similar transdogmifier as your master did, but now...he's missing. Someone probably took him to either recreate or reverse the technology."
He sighed...

Hunter sighed, then looked out at the clear blue sky ahead of him, attempting to not react to the fact that Colleen was sitting right next to him.

probablyu parvo''s doinmg, that nutjob has been after us for quite some time " colleen replied ' So we have to find out where you master is, rescue him, and stop parvo."

<Yes, he's not a very nice guy. He is very scary.> Shag said shivering at the idea of being near to Parvo again and those who where often those they have to fight as well.

Gen sat, eyes shut and seemingly deep in thought.
Hmm...this group certainly is interesting...and Colleen is certainly beautiful...
He noted, then tried to push the thoughts from his head...

The trip continued on without incident. However, that all changed as they got closer to their destination. There was a sudden jolt to the transport. The alarms blared. Hunter looked out "Everyone, I'm picking up enemy fighters!" he said.

<Should we take our our bazookas and start shooting?> Shag said as he put away what he had in his hands and got ready to take out one of the bazookas he carried.

Gen smirked, reaching towards his hip and grabbing his sword.
"I got this. Won't take too long. Can you open a rear hatch or something?"
He chuckled, pulling his mask up...

openning suide hatch now ' colleen said pressing a button on the front pael. "Lets get to work Rovers" She said. unbuckling her seat.

Hunter placed the transport on auto-pilot, rose from his seat and deployed his weapon. He smiled. "Let's send these guys packing!" he said.

Shag took out the bazooka he had, unbuckling his seat belt like the others were doing. He held his bazooka backwards like usual, never being able to tell which end was which.

Gen flipped onto the roof of the ship, smirking as one of the fighters made a strafing run at them.
"Heh...that's right, come on.."
He chuckled, then leapt into the air, drawing his sword and slicing neatly through the wings of the ship in one fluid motion, then landing and sheathing his katana as the craft started spiraling out of control behind him...

THis guy..is good" Colleen said manning the ships turrets and preparing to fire. well turn them to ash..

Hunter was ready as well. "Everyone, stay focused. We're not out of this yet!" he shouted.

" I do not like these Planes as they have no tushies to bite." Blitz said.

Shag aimed the bazooka he had, holding it backwards as he usually did meant the business end where the missile would come out was aimed at the cockpit area and the back of the bazooka was aimed at one of the fighter planes.

Gen backflipped onto the end of the bazooka Shag was holding, leaning down to look at it.
"Uh, no offense, but I think this thing is pointed right...at our own ship."
He said, ears flattening against his head...

Hunter knew he had to act now. "Everyone, I'm going to take out the last of the enemy. Colleen, you're in charge while I'm out. Just don't try to fly this thing," he said, remembering the last time that had happened as he headed out.

<Not pointed the right way?> Shag said, thinking it was odd for him to shoot backwards. But he shrugged, turned himself around so his back was to any enemy planes left, took out a hand mirror from his fur, he got the idea from a tv show he saw, and did his best to aim by looking in the mirror before he shot off the bazooka he had.

Meanwhile, Hunter was helping to take out the last of the enemy forces. He waited for a long moment, and then fired. "It seems they're smarter than they used to be," he said.

exile was firing away with his freeze vision..

The enemy planes were being reduced in number. Finally, there was one more. Hunter took aim and blasted it, hitting it. "That's in. I'm coming back in!" he said, doing so. "Well, that was unexpected," he said, referring to the attack.

"I guess you'd be the expert on that Hunter." Lucky said, popping out of his hidding spot. "Hey, this a dog only flight little kitty boy." Bliytz growled,

Hunter put up a hand to stop Blitz and then turned to Lucky. "Lucky, how did you get here?" he asked, his tone conveying more worry than anger.

"Tch, Hello, I snuck aboard when no one was looking." He said to hunter. " So When can we get to kickng this Parvo guy's butt?" He asked eagerly.

Hunter shrugged. "I don't know exactly, but the enemies that we just faced were agents of his, so we should be meeting him soon. However, I want you to stay put. We're professionals and know what we're doing. I don't want you to get hurt," he said.

<Him and that scary Groomer of his, and other things he has.> Shag said, scared even thinking of the Groomer, Parvo and his minions . <They are very scary, and dangerous.> He said, shivering even thinking of it.

Hunter smiled. "Well, whenever we encounter Parvo, I hope it will end the way our encounters always do, with us foiling his plans," he said.

Gen nodded, eyes shut.
"I only hope that my master is alright. If something were to happen to him..."
He shivered a little...

Little did hunter know,that Parvo was ready for the rovers this time. "It is done Parvo, your plan to create evil versions of all the road rovers can proceed." The docter said, hanging his head in shame.

<We will rescue him, then take him back to base.> Shag said, trying to keep Gen's spirits up. <He'll do well there & I'm sure he and master would have a lot of catching up to do.> He said.

General Parvo laughed malevolently. "Excellent. I will instruct them to kill their hero counterparts and I will be finished with them for all time!" he said, bursting into another laughing fit before suddenly coughing.
From behind him, a canine shape came near. It was an absolute giant of a male German Shepherd cano-sapien. His name was Fenrir, named for the monstrous wolf son of the god Loki in Germanic mythology. He was once a Rover agent, but found more profit in working with Parvo. He, too, planned to attack the Rovers. He growled. "We are nearer every day to vanquishing our foes," he said, waiting for when he could engage a Rover in battle. He was a violent brute of a dog. This trait went back to his Rover days, and he had been reprimanded for it many times. That was when he first met Parvo. He was now fully allied with the terrorist mastermind.
Hunter continued to fly the transport. Now that the enemy had been taken out for the moment, he allowed his mind to think of Colleen once again. She was the female that every male dog wanted, the most beautiful female in the Rover organization. Hunter had seen the looks other male cano-sapiens had given her. He was hoping to gain the strength to tell her how he felt about her. A fantasy of him and Colleen in love. He imagined himself kissing her, and her returning it. It made him feel great.

Gen nodded.
"Right...right. Can't let myself get all pessimistic yet."
He replied with a small smile...

Near Fenrir, another Cano-sapien...or at least something that resembled one, stood up from where it had been crouching. The black body armor it wore masked everything about it, from species to gender. With a cool, electronically-masked voice, it chuckled.
"Hmph. And the closer we are to stopping them, the closer I am to my payday..."
It laughed...

we'll get him back gen I promise ' Colleen said to him with a smile..

Hunter was looking ahead. "Well, it seems like clear skies so far. Hopefully, we don't run into more enemy fighters," he said.

<Hopefully we will have it easy from here on out.> Shag said, scared of what they may be facing but suspecting they'd have to do more fighting as they had before whenever they went up against Parvo and his underlings.

Finally, the Rovers arrived at their destination. They landed the transport, disembarked and headed out. Hunter looked at his teammates. "All right, Rovers, we're here. Keep an eye out for anyone or anything suspicious," he said.

shoot first, ask questions later Exile like' Exile smirked as he followed huinter.
colleen pulled out her blaster.

Shag reached into his fur and pulled out a very large gun that he often used. <Everyone ready?> He asked looking around.

Gen nodded, shifting his sword to a ready position.
"Ready to go."
He chuckled...

"I'm ready to begin the bitting of the toshies." Blitz said, "How come the weird boy can go and I gotta stay here alone, in a jungle with wild animals and who knows what else?" Lucky huffed.

Hunter turned back to Lucky. "We're professionals. We know what we're facing. Please, don't fight us. We will be back soon," he said.

<You can make sure no one takes our transport.> Shag said to Lucky, not to just make him feel useful but also something that would be indeed important. It would be a long way to walk if they had no transport back to base.

Hunter began to walk forward. "Come on, Rovers. The sooner we get this mission complete, the sooner we can go home," he stated, showing that he was truly the leader. He was very confident, as he had grown a lot since he was first recruited as a Rover.

Gen nodded, rolling his neck as he followed Hunter...

Shag slowly got out of the transport, looking around in a scared and frightened manner. He looked around to try to keep alert so that he, and the others, would not be surprised, if possible.

As they walked, Hunter took a moment to admire Colleen. She was devoted to the Rovers and gorgeous beyond words. Suddenly, there was a rustling sound followed by evil laughter. Hunter drew his weapon.

Blitz screamed like a little girl and jumped into Exile's arm's.

General Parvo emerged, followed by Fenrir. He laughed. "I knew you would come to try and stop me," he said.

Shag tried to hide behind Colleen once he heard the voice. Totally ineffectual, given his size and her size.

General Parvo smiled at the pathetic sight of Shag trying to hide behind Colleen. "This time, my plans will not fail. Soon, you will all lay defeated," he said.
Hunter wasn't having any of it. He rushed, only to be tripped by Fenrir. He stood up, but, before he could do anything, Fenrir grabbed his wrists in a tight, unbreakable grasp. He looked Hunter in the face. "I am going to enjoy this," he said.
Hunter knew that there would be no escape. He just looked back at the massive German Shepherd. "If you're going to beat me, you better make it good," he said.
Fenrir smiled at this reply before beginning to pummel Hunter. He crushes his armor, revealing the Retriever's chest and ribs. He broke his nose. He blackened both of his eyes, split his lip and severely injured his ribs. Before long, Hunter's bare chest and ribs resembled a side of uncooked beef, raw and bloody. The last thing Hunter saw before passing out was a few of Parvo's other goons being taken out by the others while Parvo himself attempted to keep them from saving Hunter.

coleen and exiler started battling the other goons while they tried to reach hunter, hunter was bleeding profucekt, it was clear that he was in real bad shapwe'
shep, get hunter to the plane! now" colleen said.

Shag pulled out a large gun and started to fire it at the enemies. He did his best to try to reach Hunter, unless someone else go to him first, then he'd try to provide them with cover. If he reached Hunter first he'd put him in one of his pockets, or whatever, in his fur so he could use both hands to fire his weapon and not have a chance of dropping Hunter. Then he'd head to the plane.

Parvo was enjoying every moment of watching the Rovers try to get to their ally. "Keep trying. You'll never escape," he said.

As the battle raged around them, the black-armored cano-sapien sprung into action, kicking and throwing aside several of Parvo's men, fighting his way to the center of the action and clearing a path for the Rovers to grab Hunter. Gen darted in, sliding and striking several of the remaining enemies out of the way, then grabbed Hunter, darting back to the others in a blur.
"I have Hunter. Let's get out while we can."
He said calmly, though his eyes expressed his worry...
