"Thanks." Dan said as he accepted his food. He ate a bit of each as he listened to what the others were saying. "Could we do some sort of distraction that would be harmless but get them away or lead them to where the distraction is. Though that may only be effective for a short time."

"Like a big boom?" Ducky said.

"Something scary looking?" Petrie said.

Cleve diligently listened to everyone's proposals. "Frank probably knows better than I do, but the landing speed of an Avenger is about 80 mph. I'm not sure about the about of runway we'll need, but to me, 600 feet seems like a reasonable estimate. I know from my service on the Navy that Many escort carriers are about 500 feet. They sail into the wind when launching their planes, so they have an advantage. We can't sail into the wind, but we're not carrying any weapons either. Six hundred feet of flat land is hard to find, but it's definitely possible."

"As for the tank plan," Cleve said, "I think that's workable too, especially considering that we already have two cars. We lack the tools to modify them heavily, but they can get the job done. A distraction, if possible, is certainly a good idea, though I don't know how to do it."

"Yeah but we'd have to find a way to lifting it on the roof and find a way of securing it and firing it." Frank said.

"Yeah," Cleve agreed, "We had some 20mm cannons on the Eldridge. Those things were pretty big. I still wonder how engineers put them in aircraft. The AA 20mm guns we had were huge."

"we may have to use logs and dirt to make a long enough runway for the planes to land and take off. If we can't do a long enough runway maybe we can set up a type of system like they use on air craft carriers with their cables." Dan said. "Since we don't have Godzilla, or some other giant type monster who can pick up one of the craft and throw them into the air, or catch them."

"I'm not sure if you can intimidate them into letting you in," Ruby responded, "Even Red Claw hesitates to go near that place. Domeheads and fast-biters aren't allow in either. Trying to force your way in not going to work."

"So here's what I'm thinking," Cleve said, "Today, we go out scouting for the Avengers. Adam's Avenger isn't badly damaged. We just need to get some new propeller blades and a new wheel, but if we find an even more well-preserved Avenger, we can use that as well. I've worked on SBD Dauntless dive bombers before, but I have confidence that Frank and I can fix it. Some Avengers may carry basic tools."

"What do you want to do after you get those big buzzing flyers fixed," Chomper asked.

"Simple," Cleve said, "The crews of the Avengers and the 109 all carried parachutes. We take off and just drop someone into Claw Valley..."

"What's a parachute?" Chomper asked.

"It's a human devise that allows you to fall out of the sky without harming yourself," Cleve responded impatiently, "Anyway, we just drop someone into Claw Valley. After that person or dinosaur gets into the valley, he or she can block the portal there. Then, we slow the Avenger as much as possible, extend a vine or something, and pull the scout back up. If the scout gets into trouble, he still has air support. It might be a suicide mission though..."

"Parachute sounds scary. Even more scary to go to Claw Valley." Petrie said shivering in fear at the thought of going there.

"More scaryerer to the person going into claw valley I thin, I do , I do." Ducky said nodding.

"The thing is that the appearance of a parachute may attract attention. Some may go to investigate what that odd looking thing is." Dan said.

"Deimos is the largest and strongest member of our group," James said. "But I doubt parachutes can handle his body shape or weight."

"But aren't those big buzzing flyers loud?" Deimos asked. "We don't want to let the sharpteeth inside know that we're there.

Raptix poked at the fire with a stick. "What about tricking the sharpteeth into letting Deimos and Chomper in? Once they get in they can seal the portal and then sneak out at night."

Cleve chuckled, "Yep, it's a Sun Tzu quote. If you sharpteeth can deceive yourselves into Claw Valley, blocking this portal will be quick and easy."

"It sounds daunting," Chomper commented, "But as long as I don't have to hurt anyone, I'll join in."

Ruby looked on with a worried look but said nothing.

"So, when should we start this operation?" Cleve asked, "We still have plenty of time today to plan out this operation."
