It seems that, despite reports from a toy company that makes figures for them, power rangers have indeed been canceled...

I used to LOVE that show in the 1990's... the good news is that Super Sentai, the series from which power rangers is adapted, will continue on... and it continues its run since the 1970s, unbroken... with seasons before, and apparently, after the power rangers.

They say the production in New Zealand has shut down, the stunt actors have gone back to Japan, and the stunt coordinator is working on an Ultraman project.

It seems the final episode will be released sometimes in January... the last episode of Power Rangers: RPM, and the last one overall.

Well, this stinks. Anyone have any thoughts?

I never really liked Power Rangers.  It always seemed kinda lame to me even as a kid.  No offense but I wish it had canceled when I was still watching Saturday morning cartoons.  It would have saved valuable air-time to watch the other shows I liked so much growing up.

Of course people like different things so I'm sure there'd be many who'd disagree with me on this.  I just never liked fighting stuff like Power Rangers.  The closest I ever got was Beast Wars/Machines but I liked the story more than the fighting.  I've just never thought that watching someone get punched in the face was a good way to pass the time. :p

Well, I have to say that I saw this coming.  I knew it would happen sooner or later.  As much as I like the shows, I must admit that they have become stale over the years.

However, I feel that they are going out strong with the latest one.  The plot and storyline has become more interesting than it has been in the longest time.  Another thing is that it's not as heavily focused on the leader of the team as others have been.  Finally, this one has one of the most interesting villains I have ever seen.  Sure, it's a computer virus and all, but it's one of the most interesting ones ever made.  If you would like to debate on this, go ahead.  I will stand behind my argument.

The zords themselves are not too bad of choices.  Basing them off animals isn't a bad thing, though I wish they could have made the bear look more like the original one did back in the 3rd season.  Also, did they have to go with green for the shark?  In all honesty, I liked blue more.  So yeah, the colors don't set right with me on some of them and I wish they would've chosen better ones.

I will finish my thoughts later.  For now, I need to get going.

Thank you and I'll see ya later!

I used to like Power Rangers when I was younger but I "outgrew it", so-to-speak. I'm not really bothered by the cancellation since I no longer like the series, personally.

My liking of the series personally ended once it got to Space. I thought Space was ok, it was getting kind of far fetched and a little overused in my opinion, and they weren't in space all of the time, in fact it seemed they were on Earth longer than they were in space. Once it got to Lost Galaxy I knew it was going downhill. Not even bringing Tommy back in Dinothunder could really save the franchise.

Personally, I'm glad they are putting the series to rest. For most people the first four incarnations (MM, Zeo, Turbo, Space) were the best so for them the series ended there. It was when Disney got control of the rights that everything started to become bland and too phony. I haven't watched RPM so I can't tell how they are ending it, but in my opinion nothing will compare to MM and Zeo, easily my two favorite incarnations.

Power Rangers has made an impact on a lot of people that nobody will ever forget the good old days again.

I loved Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as a kid, but never got into anything else regarding Power Rangers.  I recently caught a glimpse of an episode on TV, and it was during a fight scene that looked rather lame .  Like many other series, Power Rangers was best in the beginning before it got worn out...

I sometimes watched it as a kid but I never really liked it, so this doesn't really bother me. Sad though for all the fans.

& what makes it harder on some fans is you can't get some power rangers on dvd in the us, and some seasons are incomplete, though there are other avenues to get episodes.

I heard rumors it was going to be canceled this season.  I wonder if it is gone for good, or if they'll just dub the super sentai footage.

It's a sad news indeed. I used to be just crazy about Power Rangers, I had all the zords and treasured them as my best toys (=

I stoped watching after Power Rangers in Space, recently I've seen Dinorangers, SPD and Operation Overdrive, the acting is still terrible and the way the zords form the megazords is just weird and makes no sense.

Anyway, it's still sad that they're canceled, but it was sure to happen sooner or later.

I guess it's no longer Morphin' Time
I'm hip, I'm cool. I'm a happening fool

I admit that I stopped watching it when Power Rangers in Space was complete, although I did go back and watch Lost Galaxy on You Tube much later on.

I haven't seen the show on TV in years, but it is still sad to see it go.

Well there may still be hope for it to still be morphin time. Apparently while the live action show will be canceled, there is possible speculation that it will continue but only as an animated cartoon. This in my opinion would completely ruin it because martial arts is never as good in cartoon form as it is in live action. That's just my opinion, and I know some people will argue that Dragon Ball Z would refute my opinion, but oh well.

May the power protect all those stunt people and actors out there.

I've heard that rumor too... no way to be sure. I remember when they canceled might morphin and changed it to Zeo... that was a shock for me when I was 8... heh. Times have changed.

Wow! I can't believe it. I was a fan as a kid. I still remember that darn theme song from the original; it's so catchy that you can never get it out of your head. XD

I stopped watching after Space myself. I heard the series got bad when the show moved over to Disney. Either way, I almost can't believe it's finally ending.

Oh well. I stopped watching it anyway, but I do feel a little sad on the inside. Nothing too big, though.

Well apparently the latest season RPM is supposed to be much better than the previous seasons Disney has done. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and the themes are supposed to be more serious. Of course, there is most likely a character to help liven up the mood, but if what I hear on the web is true then it's good they are ending the franchise on a good note.

Hopefully they will run... something to acknowledge that the series is ending... a special, an announcement... anything.

found a file on youtube with all the openings from season 1 through rpm.   Thought some may like it.  It is just over 16 minutes.

Some morphs.  Think it may be most or all.  Can't find them as 1 file so it has to be across 3 files.

1 (mmpr - dino thunder) :

2 (spd - jungle fury):

3 (rpm only & I think I found one with all the rpm rangers morphing) :

Ah, good riddance. After Disney got a hold of the series it went downhill and it still doesn't beat Super Sentai in my opinion. Sentai wins almost every single time in my eyes.

I hope this animated series thing is just a rumor. I don't want to see Disney defacing Sentai further with some ridiculous cartoon.

Among the various things I didn't like with the Disney version that I've seen are that the rangers all have powers in their usual human forms.
