Anyone who has went to see Transformers or recently visited the Apple website may have seen a trailer which gave out a date, but no movie title.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/  You can view the trailer here.

There's rumors going around that this will be a monster movie, and that the monster will be completely original.

Any thoughts about this movie? I might go see it, if the monster is interesting enough.

From what I know of it could be not a monster movie but some other type but I don't go with rumors.

you'd also got the topic name wrong. It 1/18/2008 not 1/28/2008.

Still I saw this when I went to see Transformers and it doing my head in at the moment cause I DON'T KNOW what is about. It madiness!

Not a monster movie? Not according to the rumors I've seen. You're the only one I've seen stating it's not a monster movie.

Then again I had thought it would be a natural disaster type of movie when I first saw the trailer.

Here's the official poster for the movie (though no name is given yet).

http://media.movieweb.com/galleries/5153/posters/poster1.jpg

This definitely proves the monster theory. There are claw marks on the Statue of Liberty, as well as on the buildings, not to mention the bite marks on the buildings as well.

Oh common, I can't believe none of you guessed it. Godzilla's making a come back, that guy Rob was in Tokyo and he acted like he felt such an earthquake before, ti's too obvious.

Anyway, if it's not Godzilla it's probably a movie where something's going on but you never get to see what it is, like the blair witch project, or that monster from Lost that none of them sees.

Godzilla movie? I don't think that's possible. There's been research going on concerning this movie. If I heard right, Toho has locked production of Godzilla movies until 2013, and Paramount owns no rights to Godzilla, and cannot produce and distribute a Godzilla movie.

Here's my source:

Well, than it's probably my second choice. I showed the link to a friend of mine who's taking cinema in college and she loved it, can't wait to see it  B)

I guessing it a Monster Movie now, ususally something that big would mean Godzilla since that the only creature to be that huge. They did live it wide open in Godzilla with the Egg hatching at the end, so there is a possiblty that is a sequeal to Godzilla or could be a monster showdown with Godzilla and another form of mutated creatation of a monster that just been formed.
On Godzilla his foot steps did make the ground shake though

Or it could be just a complete different type of monster, who knows....

It's most likely not Godzilla for 2 reasons. One: Toho has a lock on the Godzilla movies until 2013. And two: Paramount does not own the rights to make a Godzilla movie. Sony, Tristar, and Toho do.

The movie is rumored not to be a sequel or prequel to any known monster movie we know of, and that the monster will be original, something we never seen before.

The movie's name is still not known. That "Furious" on the poster could just be a tagline. There's another poster out there that looks something like that, but with the word "Monsterous" written on it.

There are other monsters just as big as Godzilla, perhaps even bigger.

As stated above, this isn't a Godzilla movie.  If you are referring to the 1998 Godzilla, they already produced a sequel for that in the form of the animated series.

Slasho is people? What's Slasho? Some sort of beverige?
The monster is an Alien? That's a bit lame, but the movie could be very cool though.

Slusho, and it's a fictitious drink, I don't think it exists in real life.

I don't see what's so bad about it being an alien. I mean life outside of our planet could take on bizarre, unique forms that we don't see around here. How is it being an alien lame? Sure it's common, I've seen several movies about the concept of aliens, but concepts of other things like mutants and mythological creatures can be just as common.

It's still lame, but like I said the movie could be really cool. Did you see the monsters face in the trailer? It's a bit hard to spot, it doesn't look too scary, let's see.

Don't like aliens or something?

It's just speculation. There was probably no face at all in the trailer.

The movie title has been confirmed. It's "Cloverfield". Here's the new trailer:

Also I have stumbled across an image that may be the monster from the movie. There is no confirmation yet though.

If that is the monster from the movie, I don't think it's very original. It's very similar to the Sin monster from Final Fantasy X:

Sorry I couldn't find better screenshots for comparison, but I'm sure you understand the difficulties of typing "Sin" into a search engine. :lol

Of course (with Google, anyway), you can sort your rearch results to include only images. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that other search engines have a similar capability.

I can't see too much resemblance with those pictures to be honest. But I would not be surprised if, when the official design is revealed, someone is going to say it is not original and start comparing it with another creature.
