Anyone here ever watch this "super-nanny" for dogs? If so, thoughts?

Aha!  What a quack!  What he does really works though.  He's weird to me for some reason though.

That offends me.

Anyway, I love Dog Whisperer. I like his methods on changing dog behavior. I like how he understands the dog's minds, and uses dog psychology to fix problems.

Sorry. I meant quack as in like crazy like Albert Eignstiene (or however you say his name).  It wasn't meant to be derogatory at all. :)

The name is Albert Einstein and he was definitely not crazy.

It wasn't just the word "quack". It was the way you said it. "Aha! What a quack!" isn't what I call a friendly comment. My opinion though.

And what makes you think Albert Einstein was crazy? Wasn't he supposed to be one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th Century?

The Dog Whisperer is a program on National Geographic Channel about Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer as he's called, who uses dog psychology to fix dog problems and also corrects the owners' habits which contributed to the problem in the first place.

Hmm... interesting. While I think that some of these pet psychics are full of a lot of whoshotjohn, I also think that there may be some method to the madness known as animal whispering, where one can tell what an animal is trying to express, etc. I'm sure it would requite a lot of training, studying the animals, etc.

I don't think Cesar is a pet psychic. He just uses methods that dogs would use to correct behavior.

Agh!  Hidden meanings within hidden meanings!  Crazy is a good thing where I come from, regardless of it's other meaning.  Crazy is like unique or special here.  Crazy isn't bad at all.  He was crazy, but not it's literal meaning.

I don't believe in pet psychics.  I think they can just interperate an animals desires and feelings and have a better understanding of them then the rest of us.  Nothing more.  In my opinion, if something cannot be explained scientifiically, then It's not proven and therefore, I believe that it's false until it can be proven or I relate something scientific to the non-scientific answer or to the result.  For example:

Natural healers, I believe that they think they can heal, and the other people think that they can be healed, and that's what heals them, not some power or energy that these people posess.  If there is no scientific evidence, I don't believe it.  I either discredit it or I come up with a scientific explaination.  That's just the way I work, so don't take anything personally here, but I have total faith that everything in this world can be explained scientifically.   Once they come up with scientific evidence that psychcics exist, then I'll believe it.  The show is fun to watch though, nonetheless.

Yes, I agree the show is pretty fun. I say again, he's like a "Super-Nanny" for dogs.

As for that show, I have never seen it. However, Germany has a large selection of very similar shows sometimes with identical titles "Super nanny" etc. In general those shows are absolutely not my cup of tea. Many of them have a rather pseudoscientific (pretending to be serious science while they aren't) tendency. Most of these shows are made for entertainment and at the same time give the audience the comfortable feeling of watching something "intellectual". There are many such shows over here and documentaries so unobjective and sensationalist that it really hurts to see when those shows are taken too serious by many. I'm referring to the whole genre rather than one particular show.
