Title: A Winnie the Pooh Indie Slasher Movie Coming
Post by: pokeplayer984 on May 27, 2022, 07:47:52 PM: Winnie the Pooh has entered the Public Domain. As a result, anyone can use the character from the book. (Not the one from Disney.) This has created the unusual scenario where Winnie the Pooh becomes a Serial Killer.

Yeah, I'm not going to see this. However, it is interesting to note that this beloved character is now in the Public Domain.

It kinda irks me the same way all of those new Alice in Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass stories where it's all dark and edgy (eg. Alice does drugs and hallucinates the whole ordeal or something). I just think there's a million other interesting things you could do with Winnie the Pooh rather than a slasher movie. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but this feels like they're using a popular character just because it's popular and not out of love for A. A. Milne's works...

In general bludgeoning weapons are underrepresented compared to piercing weapons, usually only seen as emergency weapons (especially baseball bats) wielded by the heroes.

(I'm still waiting for a slasher film that decides to go all in on a meat tenderizer lol)

Disney does own the rights…but only their version of the character (which has a red shirt). This is being made because the book featuring the character is now public domain (which doesn’t have a red shirt).

Geez! :rhett_ohsnap I knew this was going to be bad, but wow! Even if I start a "Bad Horror Movie Night" sort of thing, which I won't, I wouldn't put it in as a candidate. This thing will remain unwatchable for me for the foreseeable future.
