Winnie the Pooh has entered the Public Domain.  As a result, anyone can use the character from the book. (Not the one from Disney.) This has created the unusual scenario where Winnie the Pooh becomes a Serial Killer.

Yeah, I'm not going to see this.  However, it is interesting to note that this beloved character is now in the Public Domain.

Jesus, maybe I’ll just stick to the Disney version of Pooh, this movie seems a little too violent for me, and I don’t like classic characters you like turn into serial killers.  That just makes me hate the character now.

While I really like horror movies and new retellings of stories, but this one just... doesn't do it for me. It kinda irks me the same way all of those new Alice in Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass stories where it's all dark and edgy (eg. Alice does drugs and hallucinates the whole ordeal or something). I just think there's a million other interesting things you could do with Winnie the Pooh rather than a slasher movie. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but this feels like they're using a popular character just because it's popular and not out of love for A. A. Milne's works...

Doubt I'll ever watch it.  Now, a Barney slasher film I might watch just out of morbid curiosity, but I'v no desire to see this.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure a sledgehammer has never been the weapon of choice for the serial killer in these types of movies.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

There is the 1983 film Sledgehammer, but yeah its far rarer than the more usual instruments. In general bludgeoning weapons are underrepresented compared to piercing weapons, usually only seen as emergency weapons (especially baseball bats) wielded by the heroes.

(I'm still waiting for a slasher film that decides to go all in on a meat tenderizer lol)

In the trailer, the first human victim is Christopher Robin's fiancée. :rhett_ohno

Let that set the tone! :rhett_ohsnap

Yeah, I think I'll just look at the reviews when this comes out.

I don't need my childhood to be raped by this.  How is this even being made?  I thought Disney owned the movie rights.

Disney does own the rights…but only their version of the character (which has a red shirt).  This is being made because the book featuring the character is now public domain (which doesn’t have a red shirt).
