The Fridge / LBT Server Hit By Lightning
« on: August 02, 2009, 02:11:57 PM »
Well, great companies don't want to put all the drivers to their site, thinking that everyone has the latest hardware. Once I repaired an older notebook, and reinstalled windows xp. It had some kinda mobile video card, and I didn't find any driver for windows xp at all! I had to install vista, and let the download center to install the driver automatically.

Anyway, let's hope your server will be more lucky from now on and won't get caught by a lightning.

A good, easy and cheap way to protect your computer from overvoltage is to apply a neon bulb in parallel to your mains. This will regulate any voltage that is above 115/230V. If a thunder strikes, this bulb will explode, shorting your mains cables and the circuit breaker will open. This won't protect your computer from high frequency noises, but power supplies have this kind of filters.

Well, I registered to dragonadopters too. My egg is gonna hatch soon. :)

I know that after I have the little dragon, I have to visit and feed him to grow up. I will be able to buy rings and some other stuff for my dragon too. I must ask, what can I do with my dragon then? Can I go adventuring with him or anything else? Or he's just sitting and waiting for food? :p Are there any dragon diseases in the game? Or any dangers? Im just curious!

 :smile

Say hello to my little egg:

Ergh! Stop confusing me reality!

First I hear that it is the current that kills people when they are electrocuted, then I hear that it is the voltage, now I hear that it should be the current again! Make up your mind, electromagnetism goblins!
Well, both of them. Current must be at least 20-50mA, voltage must be at least 50Volts and there's another thing: the frequency. If the frequency is high enough it won't hurt you. Above 5000Hz it's safe I can say as the current can't reach your heart. It's based on the skin effect.

Going back to topic: I love lemon cakes!  :wow

Well...

I like classical music.
I like to eat slowly and this annoys some of my friends.
I don't like doing nothing in summer but sometimes I have to.
I have a sister who wants to be a model in her dreams.
Once I would like to fly on an airplane.
I shocked by 220kiloVolts several times, but it did not hurt. I have some own-built Tesla coils.  :smile
I love nature.
I don't have any broken bones.
I hate hard drinks and I don't like coffee.

That's all for now.  :angel

A Dino hunter game, Carnivores is not that hard, except when you have to shoot T-rexes. The only way you can kill them to shoot to their little eyes, nearly impossible.

Attic Treasures / What are you reading?
« on: July 18, 2009, 03:41:58 PM »
Have anyone read Jules Verne? I love his books, just finished Dick Sand, A Captain at Fifteen, and The Mysterious Island. Now I'm gonna start reading The Adventures of Captain Hatteras. He also have some amazing classics: A Journey to the Center of the Earth or Around the World in Eighty Days. He wrote about space travel when flyable aircrafts just invented. He had an excellent fantasy, or he knew something. :)

Silver Screen / What are your favorite animes?
« on: July 18, 2009, 03:28:55 PM »
Well I don't know what my favorite ones are, but I like animes from Hayao Miyazaki, for example:

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
My Neighbor Totoro
Porco Rosso
Pom Poko
Kiki's Delivery Service
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away
and so on...

When I was a child, I always watched Dragonball, and sometimes Sailor Moon with my little sister.  :lol Now, as I feel myself as a grownup, I'm watching LBT of course.  :DD

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a great one too.

General Land Before Time / LBT in difference language
« on: July 17, 2009, 03:52:13 PM »
There are more hungarian translation mistakes in some episodes. For example in the Journey to Big Water, they used other names than in the previous episodes.

Cera was Szera instead of Kist¸lˆk
Littlefoot was Kicsil·b instead of Tappancs
Ducky was Buci instead of Kacsacsőr
Spike was Duci instead of T¸skÈs
and Petrie was Petri instead of Rˆpcsi.

You can imagine how annoying it was.

Another embarrassing thing, that in the second movie Cera has a voice of a boy in hungarian. That was nonsense.

 :rolleyes

Malte, I have edited my previous post so you can see the literally re-translated version of the names. :)

Here you go, some words/names in hungarian:

The Land Before Time = ŐslÈnyek Orsz·ga (land of the dinosaurs)

The Time of the Great Giving = A Nagyszerű Aj·ndÈkoz·sok Kora
Journey Through the Mists = ?t a Kˆzˆs Vˆlgybe (well, this is translated wrong, because that would be ?t a Kˆdˆs Vˆlgybe, kˆdˆs means misty, kˆzˆs means public.) :confused
The Mysterious Island = A RejtÈlyes Sziget
The Secret of Saurus Rock = A Szaurusz Szikla Titka
The Stone of Cold Fire = A Hideg Tűz Kˆve
The Big Freeze = A Nagy Fagy
Journey to Big Water = Utaz·s a Nagy V“zhez
The Great Longneck Migration = A Hossz?nyak?ak V·ndorl·sa
Invasion of the Tinysauruses = A Pˆttˆmszauruszok T·mad·sa
The Great Day of the Flyers = A Nagy Rep¸lősnap
The Wisdom of Friends = A Bar·tok BˆlcsessÈge

Littlefoot = Tappancs (Paw)
Spike = T¸skÈs (Thorny)
Chomper = Hami (Yummy)
Ducky = Kacsacsőr (Duckbeak)
Cera = Kist¸lˆk (Littlehorn)
Petrie = Rˆpcsi (Fly-ey if I can say)

Sharptooth = …lesfog?
Leafeater = NˆvÈnyevő
Longneck = Hossz?nyak?
Threehorn = H·romszarv?

Character Discussion / Top 10 favourite Characters
« on: July 17, 2009, 02:54:55 PM »
Here is my top 10:

10. Rainbow faces - they are mysteriously intelligent

9. Ozzy - love his song Eggs, sometimes he is so fumbling with Strut

8. Cera - I always love her when Ducky is laughing and she gets mad at her, or rather when she teach Ducky how to be angry... "Hmph!"

7. Littlefoot - he is a great leader, deliberate, benevolent and smart. What would the others do without him?

6. Tricia - she is just adorable, especially when she is paddling and waggling her little tail

5. Mo - "MÛÛÛka" (fun in hungarian), always happy

4. Petrie - he is worried many times, he is a real scary egg, always makes me smile

3. Ducky - she is endlessly cute, cautious, and affable. She holds the team together in hard times.

2. Ruby - She is a special member of the gang, she is intelligent, she expresses herself really creatively, although sometimes gets overly tangled up in what she wanna say. She thinks a lot, I like her mentality and her personality, I don't see why so many people dislike her.

1. Guido - He is always forget to use his wings, and those apprehensive eyes... He is my favorite character of all time!

Well, there are some more characters who haven't fit in my top ten list, but I also like Chomper, Ali, Ducky's mother, Littlefoot's grandparents and even Mr. Threehorn!
