This will thread will contain my LBT Fanart as well as some extra art but mainly LBT. I will soon be posting up my first art and I also plan to draw some scenes from my story The Swimmer Trials. As always feedback is always useful.
-
I do my LBT fanart by looking at a character screenshot and sketching the character. Next I go over the drawing with fine liner since I don't do pencil shading. Once that is done I paint the character and once that's dry I go over it again with fine liner.
So without further ado here is my first pic:

This is Ducky's mother or as she is called in The Swimmer Trials: Sura.
-
Hey, I'm glad you decided to post your art! :lol
Sura looks really good! I don't think there are many people using paint for their LBT artwork. It's either coloured pencils (like me) or digital drawing or a mixture of sorts. Looking forward to seeing your future artwork, yep, yep, yep :D
-
Nice paint work. I've never been that good with paint myself.
-
Thanks very much mates :D
I also really liked doing this one. Though I'll tell you it was very very difficult to find the right shade od brown for her. Since her character colour job is different throughout the franchise so I focused on her colour scheme from movie 8 and a screenshot from the reunion in movie 5. It was still difficult to find the right shade though because you need to get the right amount of paint on the stick with the right amount of water so by the time I was done I had almost completely used up my brown paint :p
While I'm not a master painter I still like using it and have a bit of practice at homing my skill. Glad you like it though :yes
-
Here's another one of my pieces though it is uncoloured or un painted in this case, it is ready for that stage however. It's Guido.

-
Reminds me I still have to draw him one of these days :p The lineart looks pretty good, yep, yep, yep :)
-
Thanks very much. I drew it in a art comp with my sister, she did hers in pencil and neither of us coloured in. My parents judged my sister's version of the character to be just a little bit better then mine but I still did a good job.
-
Here is a pic of Littlefoot.
I personally find that his front leg is out of proportion to much and I certainly believe I could improve on the face. Because I can't paint over the lines I have to be very precise if I paint over the fine lines then it will mess up the entire picture but it's still not to bad for an amateur.
-
Nice work again! ;)
The only flaw this painting has is, as you mentioned, the right frontleg of Littlefoot. The upper part of the leg is too small, as in too thin. His face looks alright to me (maybe I should ask RockingScorpion, if he sees a flaw because he has an excellent eye for such things :smile )
-
Here's a pic of Cera, I'm doing The Gang in order.
(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p628/jaxombusko/20151203093047364_zpsfyfm7t4y.png) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/jaxombusko/media/20151203093047364_zpsfyfm7t4y.png.html)
I think it's pretty good but once again I've still got some more improvement to do in terms of the 'foot work' but apart from that I think its very good.
-
I think you all know who comes next yep, yep, yep :yes
(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p628/jaxombusko/20151208105419120_zpszfnahso4.png) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/jaxombusko/media/20151208105419120_zpszfnahso4.png.html)
-
Except for her beak, Ducky looks very good here :yes You should try to draw her beak a little bigger. You picked a difficult perspective though :)
-
About time I updated this thread.

Nice drawing! :) The lineart is spot on there, yep, yep, yep!
Btw are you not going to upload the other picture you uploaded on DA a few days ago?
-
Thanks Ducky :)
I should get Petrie coloured in sometime. Also the pic I uploaded to DA is the first pic in this thread the only difference is size and the fact that I used a proper camera with the DA pic.
The rest of The Gang will come around shortly ^^spike
-
draw Sharptooth! :3
-
Petrie looks awesome and he is drawn very well.
-
Good drawing indeed. Coloring will be interesting to see. Hope you post your pictures here in the future. We look forward to seeing more. :)
-
Thank for the comments guys. I'll get around to colouring Petrie soon, in the meantime here's the next member of The Gang

I wish I had a darker green in my arsenal while I was doing the paintwork.
-
I think spike looks good. The green color you picked worked out just fine.
-
WOW, great job, mate! Spike looks amazing there :DD
-
Looking forward to your next drawing.
-
Well done & colored Spike. Keep up the good work. :exactly
-
Very well done. Liked all of them.
-
Thanks very much guys, so anyway here comes a certain Sharptooth we all know to be friendly. Ladies and gentle dinos I give you Chomper (TV series style)
(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p628/jaxombusko/PICT0210_zpsjqg7dlda.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/jaxombusko/media/PICT0210_zpsjqg7dlda.jpg.html)
I had to resort to a alternative means of colouring Chomper since I had no purple paint and my attempted mix was a disaster (as seen on his leg). So I used a purple texter which unfortunately was nearly dried out.
-
Hmm, it's really unfortunate that you didn't have the paint you needed, the lineart is spot on though :yes
-
And the last but certainly not least of The Gang: Ruby. "Hello my friends, my friends hello"
(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p628/jaxombusko/PICT0212_zpsc2aiug6g.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/jaxombusko/media/PICT0212_zpsc2aiug6g.jpg.html)
I also had a little paint trouble here with her underside and in the end settled for colouring in pencil instead of paint, I also think her arms could be a little less skinny but apart from that I actually enjoyed drawing her.
-
Ruby looks awesome the way you drew her was very well done.
-
Nice :lol
I agree that her arms might need a little improvement but otherwise this a really well done again! :yes
-
You picked the right colors for her. They look very nice.
-
well, I have to say, for me, comparing to others, Ovie resulted the most roughly
:O
keep going!
-
Here's one of the earliest artworks I've done. It was the first time I used paint so I was a novice at using it at the time, regardless I still think it turned out quite well.

-
Oh wow, the painting looks pretty awesome despite it being one of your very first fanart attempts! :DD Also, this scene from LBT 8 is so heartwarming..
I think I've said this before but watercolours + LBT fanart is a great combination and I wish I could work with them too but I've never been good at using them ^^spike
