Well, from what I can tell, CN is no longer airing LBT episodes. :cry I went to their site (which is a little screwy right now. I'm in the pacific time zone and it's 9pm now but they say it's 7pm in pacific) and I couldn't find LBT anywhere on the schedule. It's still on their site, but It's not airing any time this week. It's replaced with a weird movie mon-wed and thur-sat it's replaced by dumb shows like chowder and camp lazlo (god I hate those shows). Are they just not airing it anymore because they've aired the same episodes over and over? Are they planning a second season? Why is it still on CN's site if it's no longer airing? My Cable provider has a search feature where I can search shows up to 2 weeks before they air, and the land before time yielded no results. :(
-
I think it's because of their two week monster thing show where they'll be showing beasts and such or anything close to it throught the week, i've seen a few commercials about it on CN.
EDIT: I also think they'll bring it back after it's over.
-
I don't know much about the cartoon channels because I don't really watch any animated shows except for LBT. I never heard of a monster thingy, but that doesn't surprise me.
-
It's just about showing cartoons with the most monster related things in them or something all week, but i hope land before time isn't gone foor good though. :(
-
I know way back when I had cable they would occasionally do themed stuff. Once they did Christmas in June.
They may also be waiting a bit before they show the shows again. Giving it a rest or something like that. If it's been on every day that means they've shown the episodes a lot.
-
Maybe, but i'm sure there would be a lot of angry viewers if they stopped showing it for a while.
-
I can imagine they are getting, and will get phone calls and email about it.
-
If they're not taking it off for the weekathon beats mayhem thing, maybe they are holding off until a new season comes out or something, because they've shown the same episodes for quite a while. :(
-
I think the kids would pick up they've shown the same shows over and over. If there's no new episodes to show, then yeah, it wouldn't be on air now would it?
-
This does not mean that it won't ever be aired again. Give them a year or so and it may be repeated or aired on other channels.
-
A year? I hope that was supposed to be sarcastic.
-
Not on the basis of the experience I made with European TV programs. It may be different in the US of course, but some series are aired on different channels more frequently than once a year (depending of course on how successful the series is). In which way did you think the comment to be sarcastic?
Would you expect it to be aired again sooner or later than within a year?
-
I expected a month break. 2 months at most. Certainly never a year. I've never heard of a tv series ever doing that. Here, if it hasn't been aired in 3 months, you might as well consider it dead.
-
Has anyone even considered my guess? I think they do things like the beasts unleashed thing every once in a while, but basically they show brand new episodes of stuff, and since LBT hasn't had any new episodes, maybe they are waiting until their special week is over to start putting it up again. If i see it on the schedule next week, i'll just laugh, but there is a possibility that they may be giving it a break for a while, since no new episodes have been released.
-
Could they be working on a new season?
-
Now i'm even more confident that my theory is right, because i just saw the schedule once more and most of the movies that replace LBt at 10:00 are mainly movies that are in the closest range to monsters, etc. such as pokemon the movie 2000 (Because some pokemon are beasts i guess) and grim adventures of billy and mandy attack hour or something which seems pretty monsterous to me.

I disagree. It could have been the writer's strike that delayed them, in addition to the time it takes to animate a season. I don't think any of us know exactly how long it took them to complete the first season( if that's the case, the animation could've been much better -_-). Anyhoo, let's not consider the TV series dead just yet.
-
As an add on to my theory, i saw the commercial again and it says something like "Two weeks of Cartoonnetworks wildest characters!" so i suppose that is why they aren't showing it, because the characters in Land before time aren't exactly wild and scary much.

I was talking about a completed series. I know they're not going to come out with any new ones for at least 6 months. Things go very slow at Universal it seems. I figured they would continue to show season 1 until they came out with season 2 and then just release the new episodes as they came out.
-
To bad they don't show the first movie. The sharptooth in that seemed wild and scary.
-
Well, the land before time original movie has been shown every once in a while, and i don't think they've shown the movies they are currently showing in a long time.
-
That could be why it's not being shown with the other stuff for the themed period.
-
I just recently saw the Land Before Time (original) on CN a long while ago, and i started to notice a pattern of them showing the movies in an order (first LBT, then about 2-3 weeks later 2nd, 2-3 weeks 3rd, so far). Anyways, the sharptooth in the 1st movie was a threat and i agree it should be one of the movies shown, although the sharptooth only Killed Littlefoot's mother, then did not wound/or kill any one/thing after that.
-
I noticed with the search feature that a LBT movie would air right after a tv episode on CN. I noticed this because my DVD recorder was set incorrectly and recorded for 3 hours straight (wasting an entire DVD I may add) and I was able to also record a LBT sequel onto the DVD.
-
Which one was it that you saw was going to be aired? If the tv series is out due to effect of this event and they still show the sequels, maybe they will bring it back. Most of the sequels do have sharpteeth which might explain why it is one of the movies for this "Beasts Unleashed" thing.
-
all that we have to do is wait...
-
i have all the episodes on my vidilife account
-
YAY!!!
LBT is scheduled to restart on march 31 and they have episodes planned out until April 4th. It's staying on the air! A lot of people must like it. :yes
-
Thanks for the good news. I'm sure it'll make many people happy.
-
I knew it couldn't been gone for good! :lol
-
When it starts again best get to recording any episodes you missed. Till you get around to getting the dvd's. That way you can watch the episodes anytime you want. And once you have all the episodes you could try other things like recording only the songs and have a bunch of those to watch back to back.
-
well, lets celebrate the good news! :DD
no, i'm kidding :lol
-
It's party time! Lets order some Pizza! :lol
-
And ice cream, soda and a very large screen tv.
-
For those of us who are legal, let's haul in the keg and have a rip-roaring dino-riffic parrttaaaayyyy!
-
I'll bring the part supplies! :D

I would really hope that they bring back the series. It's a new show for younger kids to enjoy, and it's a great way for those who grew up with the original gang throughout the hard, long years of sequals and cuttings (from the first movie).
My only thought is that the reason why CN stopped airing LBT is because they haven't come up with any new episodes in a while, so it must no make sense to them to keep airing reruns. Of course, they air reruns of a bunch of other shows, so I don't see the logic in that.
On the bright side, LBTlover provided us with access to the already aired episodes in case we get anxious, so thanks a bunch!
-
March 31st seems to be about the time this "beasts unleash" week ends. Anyway, where did you find out that it's going to restart at that date?
-
As long as he didn't hear it from wikipedia, then I do't care! It's coming back! :birthday :birthday :birthday

I always hear from people that Red Bull is terrible. But then I try it, and it isn't that bad.
-
Actually, I tried it one time and found it disgusting :x. But, what's the harm in bringing something others might enjoy? Party on!
-
Maybe an assortment of different drinks and snacks, so those who dislike or can't indulge in certain things will have alternatives.

Really? Just when I was starting to like it... :(

Well, this is certainly old news. The TV series is still alive and is still airing on CN. Take a look at their most recent schedule. LBT is airing again on Monday:
Then straight after, they're airing a full LBT movie. LBT is so far from dead. :yes
Man, just looking at these other shows that are next to LBT, what happened to all the good quality shows that are supposed to teach children life lessons? It seems that nowadays all they show are shows about taking whatever you want and just taking up a half hour doing nothing. -_-
-
So far so good. I doubt they'd keep airing something unpopular, after all they are in the money making business, not the non profit let's just show cartoons for fun business.
-
Hmm...
Remember what happened last time they were supposedly going to air this one?
Hmm...
-
I don't, since I don't have cable.
-
fairly weird
great day of the flyers on television,
-
Wait - What? What's this about a writer's strike? What??? HUH?????!!!?!! WHAT?!?! :o
-
I think it's over now, though I don't keep up with tv, they talked about it on some of the podcasts I listen to. It didn't seem to effect pbs any at all.
-
If it is gonna be on I'll be in school so I won't be able to watch and we don't have a DVR so I won't be able to record it :( :( .

VCR's work, too. Got one of those? Besides, a lot of them are on Youtube, as well.
-
So, wait... What were the details of the strike? When did it start, and how?
-
If you need details:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007-2008_Wri..._America_strike (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007-2008_Writers_Guild_of_America_strike)
It's over now, and that's all that matters to me.
-
Hey, thanks. I'll get right on it! Thank Yah it's over!
-
Yeah I remember when they had their strike. During the Macy's Parade last year (2007) they said that broadway was suffering from the strike. I hope they don't cancel the series!! :(
-
Are you kidding? It's a pretty popular franchise; I doubt they'll be throwing in the towel yet, pteranofan! I really don't think we have much to worry about...! ;)
-
That would suck, indeed ! Since they would not do it, let's have some of the fans who write LBT fanfics do it :lol!
-
I wholeheartedly agree with you, Cancerian Tiger! But, if the team still works on it - and I don't see anybody calling in the storm troopers yet - then, anchors away!
-
It may delay instead of cancel the series. I"d guess other elements could be done still while the strike was under way, recording voice work, animating ect, though I don't know how things work in California so I"m only guessing. I think it was over months ago though.
-
...Yeah... I'm not sure about that, either... I don't keep up with things like that... Too much controversy, topics of heated debate... It's really not my thing. Conflict is inevitable I suppose, but I always try to talk things out, as opposed to yell them out, or whatever... Unless something irks me just right...
-
Maybe the series cost too much for cartoon network to afford?
-
I still believe there just taking long to make more episodes. I can understand because Storyline writers needs time to think of Lines to fit in the Script. And the Frame Drawing, that can be a major pain. They just need time to think.
