Title: My TV Series Videos Removed From YouTube
Post by: pokeplayer984 on May 20, 2011, 12:50:51 PM
I am sad to announce that Universal took the time to file copyright on multiple videos of my LBTUploader YouTube Account. :( As such, the following have been removed.

-ALL Episodes of The Land Before Time TV Series

-The Original LBT Songs Videos from EVERY movie. (My modified Fast and Slow ones are still available.)

-The LBT WD Contest Videos. (Some did have "If We Hold On Together" in them, after all. (Plus, the contest has since long been over anyways.))

-The LBT TV Series Songs. (Meh!  I was planning to get rid of those anyways.)

All other videos on the account are still available. (Including those trailers and reviews everyone seems to love so much.)

This will sadly change my plans for the updated version of The LBT TV Series Pages on my site.  Still, I've got a few ideas.

So yeah, just wanted to tell you guys this and sorry for any inconvenience it may cause anyone.

Sorry again, and I'll see ya later! -_-

EDIT: I will be making an announcement video on this later.  So look forward to that.

Sorry to hear that, Pokeplayer :( I'm glad I got to watch the whole TV series on your YouTube account a couple of months back when I first joined this community.

I've been liking your Let's Plays. You seem to be playing through some of my favorite games such as Pikmin and Paper Mario, and lots of classic games. We seem to have similar tastes in games :).

I hope this doesn't discourage you, and that you keep chugging along with your YouTube account. Your doing a good job at it!  :yes

I uploaded the video and guess what?  It's not allowed because of LBT content, despite the fact that it was muted and it was only me talking and not the characters. -_-

I'll try again with new footage, but I'm not too happy with this right now.

EDIT: Maybe I'll try again with nothing but images.  Here's hoping.

Okay, here's the video.  My voice has been modified for protection reasons.

Aside from the upcoming reviews I've mentioned, there's not much else I'll be doing with the account now that I have this copyright claim and all that.

I had more plans for it, but I can't take any more risks with it now.  Sorry guys! :(

You know what really upsets me?  That they chose to have them removed rather than keep them around.  I mean, they do have the right to do that, yes.  However, it would've been overall better if they chose for them to stay rather.  The main reason is that they are not making any money off of The Land Before Time because it's dead in terms of sales, and by keeping it around but still claiming it as their work, they would then get ad revenue off of it and still make money.  YouTube allows that and they don't realize that they lost the chance to take advantage of a fanbase that is technically still alive in the hearts of said fans. (Some of you may not know it, but some did so good, they got the "Enable Revenue Sharing" Option.  Which I never activated because of how much trouble I knew I would get in if I did.)

Also, don't think for a second it would've been hard, YouTube makes it very easy to set it up.  So I don't understand why they didn't take the time to set it up like that rather.  It is a good option for a franchise that is dead in terms of sales but not of the internet after all.

So yeah, why didn't they just do that rather?  It would've only helped them in the end.

I had a feeling this would happen - the movies aren't allowed on youtube, and it would make sense that TV series isn't either.

Don't be surprised if the sped-up/slowed-down versions of songs are deleted too.

I've been looking at the recent stuff I did with my LBTUploader Account, and I think I know how they found it... and I realize how much it is my fault here. -_-

In YouTube's Upload page, there are 5 special links that can help give you more exposure.  It let's you connect with places like Facebook, Twitter and such.  I had connected the account with Google Reader and Orkut, two places that indeed help give you more exposure.  I wouldn't be surprised if Universal found out through those sources.

It's too easy to connect with those.  You just click them and your account is connected.  Only with Facebook, Twitter and MySpace do you need to give additional information.

It's my own fault I got in so much trouble this time around.  I exposed myself and didn't even realize it.  I only have myself to blame this time. :(

It seems these cats have so much time on their hands by searching this kind of stuff, that why won't they instead focus that energy on giving our beloved series a decent ending :bang?  Oh, well, that's another subject.  Sorry to hear about this :neutral.

ohhh so you're LBTuploader from youtube. Well, i'm LuGiAdriel14.

Sorry to hear it, i noticed it when i was supposed to watch more The Land Before Time TV Series, I noticed that I can't find any episodes from yours. I tried to put credits song of The Land Before Time which is "If We Hold On Together" but sadly, after uploading it, copyright is already present in my video.

So I have to remove it before its too late.  <_<

But, my The Land Before Time IV Clip stayed because no copyright was present when I uploaded it.

Oh, by the way, I have all movies here downloaded from torrent. I'm gonna have a The Land Before Time collection. Trailers, Movies, Songs, TV Series, and other The Land Before Time things that I want to add to my collection.

Well, despite the fact they were removed, they won't be gone forever.  Sure, they aren't allowed on YouTube anymore, but there are other places they can be put up. ;)

So don't worry guys, they'll be back.  However, they need to stay under the radar for a while.  So please, be patient.  They shall return, and I'll inform you guys when they do.

Until that time, see ya later! :)

I use this forum very rarely but now I decided to write a message because over one hundred Finnish The Land Before Time videos were removed from my YouTube account few hours ago.

I had all episodes of the TV series and about twenty songs from the movies on my account but they're all gone now.

I also got two copyright strikes so I can't upload any more copyrighted videos because if I get a third strike my account will be deleted.

Now I'm planning to make a Finnish The Land Before Time related website where I could put the removed videos.

The Copyright Strike.

I had to watch a video and answer questions to reactivate my LBTUploader Account and so that I could fix it.

So yeah, it's that bad. -_-

Man, YouTube is full of it. Let's not like the show was a big hit or anything. If anything you were spreading awareness of it. Removal of the songs was bull, too. Not like they have a CD out or anything.
I'd love to know where these big wigs get off deleting videos to properties they aren't even doing anything with anymore. If they were compiling a CD to sell in Wal-Mart, I would see why they deleted the songs off of pokeplayer's channel, but they're not.

The thing is, the videos on my channel were big enough to actually make money off of them.  Universal could've really taken advantage of that, ya know.

Exactly. I don't think Universal would have any problem making a deal with YouTube to make money off a channel to host LBT vids. And hell, they wouldn't even have to lift a finger, they could just give you a bite of the pie out of every bit of money made on viewing to actually post them and maintain the channel.
Ads would be annoying, but I'd be willing to tolerate them. I believe the current percentage YouTube hosters for bigwig companies is 1% monthly. So if a thousand people viewed in a month, you would get a hundred bucks, which is essentially a cart full of food from a grocery store.

Well if they were Copyright Strikes, how is your account still standing? You can only get 3 of those before the account is closed (and you said that multiple vids were taken down), at least from what I heard. Content ID Matches, on the other hand, you can get many of those without getting a strike. I have a lot of those.

Okay, I guess I should go into further detail.

Anyways, I did get the pink sheet, showing 3 strikes. (All from Universal) However, they had me take a little something called "Copyright School" where you had to watch a video about copyright and answer some questions. (I guess they did that since I got all 3 practically at the same time.) I got 100% and that allowed me to get back into my account and remove the videos that had copyright strikes on them. (Think of it as a second chance sort of thing.)

Every episode and song (unmodified versions) were marked as "disabled".  I removed them to be on the safe side.

For now, I have abandoned the LBTUploader Account.  I will go back into it when I do my little contest next month, but other than that, nothing new will come from it.

Ha?

I've got 3 Copyright Strikes and my account was deleted instantly. There was no chance to recover anything from my account.

This new "Copyright School" appears on every Copyright Strike you get. On my new account I've got my first Copyright Strike and was taken to the "Copyright School". I've answered all questions without watching the video.

However, YouTube now marks almost everything you upload with "Third Party Content". I've created and uploaded one of my own songs (I've created them 100% by myself) and YouTube nevertheless marked one of my songs with "Third Party Content". o.O I was so angry because it was MY material and immediately disputed the copyright claim, but nothing happened.
I've lately uploaded a song of an unknown artist and got only like... 100 or 200 views, and got a Copyright Strike for it. Thanks, YouTube.

In your case, it's sad that so many videos were marked as "Third Party Content". Most companies just don't get that YouTube is meant for PROMOTION.
Title: My TV Series Videos Removed From YouTube
Post by: WeirdRaptor on June 08, 2011, 02:58:40 PM
Yeah, really. YouTube could work just a TV for them if they wanted. TVs get money on ratings and ad time. Same goes for any site with ad time. With so many people on online, they could safely put popular content that's already come and gone on there and expect cash.

Wait, so I updated something I made for scratch, it could get marked for being "third party material"? Ugh.
Title: My TV Series Videos Removed From YouTube
Post by: DarkHououmon on June 08, 2011, 03:04:50 PM
Must be something wrong with the Content ID Match I guess. It is strange that material that was 100% produced by the uploader would be marked. This might be a mistake. The best thing to do would be to dispute the claim and, if possible, explain it was marked as third party content by mistake.

Yeah, try to dispute the claim. I've done it several times and it worked on my music videos. But sometimes they don't work and the copyright claim still remains. It depends on your video or your explanation in disputing the claim.

Can't be done.  The videos have already been removed.  In the simplest sense, deleted.

Even if I could, what explanation could I give?  It would have to be something good to make it stay. (Plus, due to length limits, it would have to be short and sweet.)

No wonder Universal came after me.

Anyways, it won't be too much longer.  The videos will be posted at the special place soon.  Plans to put them up will begin by July.

After an exhaustive search, there's no Video Sharing Site for me to put them at. (Yep, they aren't allowed at any of them.) I have to reduce myself to some of the File Sharing Sites now, and not many of them are that workable with videos.  Only a handful of them can allow you to embed video and most of the time you need the right format to do that.

I'll just end it by saying that this is pretty upsetting to me. -_-

Did you try http://www.4shared.com/ (http://www.4shared.com/), http://megaupload.com/ (http://megaupload.com/) and http://megavideo.com/ (http://megavideo.com/)?

I've seen full movies uploaded (one person's uploaded 250+ full movies to his/her account, even from Lionsgate and Universal (all 3 jurassic park movies) to Megaupload and watchable on megavideo), music videos, tv episodes, etc. uploaded on all of these websites without any trouble. Most of them were uploaded years or months ago too.

What about Vimeo?
I have considered it, but since it is a partner with Blip, I don't want to risk my chances with losing my current account there.  I have thought about using a separate account with a different e-mail for it, but the 500 MB per week limit does bother me.

Truth be told, they are currently up on 4Shared in a lower format.  However, the problem is that you only get to see up to 7 minutes before you are forced to download it to see the rest.

The other two have problems of their own that I'm not too comfortable with trying to work with when distributing them to the fans.  I will consider them if things don't work out with the last few places I'm willing to try.  Those will at least be better to work with than nothing.

Man, Universal must really not want these episodes to be uploaded.  With Vimeo, (and a number of others) you get an error message when it's done uploading.  It's no coincidence either because I tried different formats and different file names.  Not to mention different quality videos.

Whatever Universal did, it's stopping nearly all my efforts.

There's only one place left.  Here's hoping things work out.

How many DVDs of the TV series are out? I think, 4 at a time, but how many are there and can anyone name all the DVDs, please.
There are 6. But one episode is missing from the DVDs, The Big Longneck Test, I think. There is a seventh DVD, but it just has Canyon of the Shiny Stones and The Star Day Celebration. You are correct about the number of episodes, but I think that one of them has five episodes. I had to look to see what the names were, but I didn't look for the episode names.

1. Amazing Adventures
2. Friends Forever
3. Good Times & Good Friends
4. Adventures in the Mysterious Beyond
5. Through the Eyes of Spike Tail
6. Magical Discoveries

There are 6 DVDs total.  You can find them all at Amazon.

Friends Forever (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Friends-Forever/dp/B001FT4LTQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1310400340&sr=8-4)

Magical Discoveries (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Magical-Discoveries/dp/B001B7CNZG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1310400340&sr=8-5)

Good Times and Good Friends (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Times-Friends/dp/B000WDTO8E/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1310400449&sr=8-17)

Through the Eyes of A Spiketail (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Through-Spiketail/dp/B00152VVQY/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1310400506&sr=8-20)

Adventuring in the Mysterious Beyond (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Adventuring-Mysterious/dp/B00105305G/ref=pd_bxgy_d_img_b)

Amazing Adventures (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-Amazing-Adventures/dp/B000R8YC2W/ref=pd_sim_d_3)

However, this only gets you 24 of the episodes if you live in the US.  You can get a 25th by buying The Land Before Time 13: The Wisdom of Friends as that one has an episode in the Bonus Material.

The Land Before Time 13: The Wisdom of Friends (http://www.amazon.com/Land-Before-Time-XIII-Friends/dp/B000WMA6PK/ref=pd_sim_d_7)

However, that still leaves one left.  It was sadly NEVER released in the US.  You can download a Low Quality Version of it at the following link. (Full Quality Version Currently Unavailable.)

The Big Longneck Test (http://www.mediafire.com/?hrbbhxr122n7jwi)

Hope this helps you in getting as many as you can legit. :)

Well, Vimeo caught me!  My alternate account there has been removed and the videos are gone.

So yeah, they're gone now!

Well, time to go to the next one on the list. :)

Oh, and if you wish to know the secret place I've been putting them, PM me!

I doubt that the episodes and movies will be allowed anywhere until they are public domain - which only happens if they owners of the movie has been dead 100 years (the copyright expires) or the copyright is removed, not even megaupload/video. Even if the series in dead, they'll still want to make money off the movies and that means they'll be removed if they are spotted, even from the secret website you have them uploaded on.-_-

Though I have seen that Univeral is uploading their movies to youtube - nothing LBT related (of course  ), and you only have to pay a price less than $3.00 (I think) to watch it.

I guess I should consider myself a bit lucky. I'm still waiting for Universal to slap me with some copyright. I'm surprised they haven't already.

Well, looks like I'm not the only one being attacked by Universal.  The following person did low-quality full-length versions of the TV Series.  You'd think the "low-quality" part would help in making it an exception, but nope, Universal is pretty serious here.

If this keeps up, there won't be ANY LBT Stuff left on YouTube.

Well I guess this means it won't be long before my videos are found too. I basically have half the 1st movie up. Albeit, the vids are flipped and only the score is heard.

I keep hearing of all this Universal is removing LBT videos news, and think in the make of my head that means Universal is planning to do SOMETHING with LBT.

...then I slap myself and remember that that would be crazy, and probably would never happen.

DO NOT SAY THAT!  YES!  WE!  CAN!!

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Trust me when I say that the fans have won those fights.

We just need to find our own way of fighting back. :)

they own the copyright to everything LBT-related. Copyright laws were amended a few years ago to cover copying without the intent to make a profit, , which downloading these videos is considered to be under the law. It would be one thing if they themselves put the videos up online, which is a direction they should have done..

But didn't because all they care about is making money that is it. It would have been nice if they did but you know these big multi billion dollars company's all they want is money. But to make money witch they don't need right now is fans. It would have been nice if they didn't go after us for harmless stuff but what can you do. They're a afraid of loosing pennies if they did that. But maybe one day it will change and they will upload there stuff someday like other companies do. Like CBS Has a You Tube Channel where they upload there stuff. It maybe only clips but still they did it. Universal should do it. But they won't but should.
