Title: The Dreams Thread
Post by: StardustSoldier on September 24, 2019, 04:12:38 PM
Last night, I dreamt I was in this dark, creepy forest with three other friends of mine. I’m not sure who they were in correlation to my real-life friends, if there even was a correlation. In the dream they were just sort of featureless. Anyway, the four of us were wandering through the jungle until we came upon this large rocky wall. We climbed up the wall, still deep within the shaded jungle. On the other side of the wall was this massive pit filled entirely with medium-sized rocks. Most of the rocks were a generic grey colour, while some of them were a more vivid blue, but all the rocks were completely identical otherwise.

Then things got really strange. My friends and I gathered all the blue rocks and put them into this wheelbarrow. I then sat on top of all the blue rocks, while my friends pushed me in the wheelbarrow. The blue rocks were apparently magical, as when they were placed in the wheelbarrow, it gave the wheelbarrow the ability to fly. We had a couple false starts, as a few of the blue rocks kept falling out, and we needed to keep all the blue rocks securely inside the wheelbarrow for the flight to work properly.

But then we got it going. My friends got a running start and pushed the wheelbarrow off the other side of the rock wall, and then it took flight. So, yeah, it was essentially me in this magic flying wheelbarrow that was filled with all these blue rocks.

(Edit: Fixing my typo; I misspelt "wheelbarrow" as "wheel barrel")

Oh man, dreams can be so wonky. In 2012 I used to keep a dream diary because I had trouble sleeping and had many nightmares. There was some weird stuff in there, let me tell you :P

So where'd you fly to? :D

I too have kept various dream journals over the years, and yep, I too have some weird stuff in mine. I haven't written down a dream of mine in a while now, aside from a couple in the LBT Dreams thread, but this one was just too kooky not to make note of.

Alas, I didn't get to find out where I was flying to, as that's where my dream ended. Hopefully I'll have a follow-up dream sometime that continues the story.

I love how strange dreams can be. I for one would not like to be in a flying wheelbarrow.

Also seems to be basically this :p

I don't remember a whole lot of dreams nowadays, but I do remember one still from a while back where I was scouting out a lake to take pictures of, taking note of how I was facing south so it would be a good spot for a sunrise/sunset (this was during last winter). The catch was that I was riding a bicycle that was hilariously too small for me for some reason :lol

I had a weird dream that occurred...sometime ago, I forgot the time, but I do remember the details for the most part. I wake up in my room, everything around me seems the same, the TV is on for some reason, which still makes sense because I would sometimes fall asleep without turning it off. Nothing seems out of the ordinary...except that my right eye was permanently closed shut. For some reason, I couldn't open it at all, no matter how much I tried to do so. It wasn't anything terrifying really, but I did (sort of?) panic internally right there and then. I went to my brother's room to ask him what is wrong with me, but yet he wasn't even supposed to be at home during this time. He was only supposed to be home on the weekends and off to some kind of College Summer Program on the weekdays.

Also, very recently last Sunday, I've experienced something in the middle of the night I've never felt before.

Sleep Paralysis.

I was pretty scared in those few minutes, as I tried so hard to move an inch of my body to no avail. After that, it would stop and I could move around again. I try to go back to sleep, and I'm hit with it again for another few minutes. These few minute paralysis intervals would continue until I got up to turn on the fan (as it was feeling a bit warm), and then I finally got a peaceful (but very short) sleep. So apparently, your body produces these two chemicals, Glycine and GABA that are responsible for the paralysis that prevents you from moving when you are sleeping. So obviously, when your mind is awake but your body still thinks you're asleep, it is quite a terrifying experience. I was surprised to find out it is a very common occurrence among people, so it was weird to think I only had something like that happen just now. By the way, I was hearing voices during the all the times I was sleep paralyzed. I couldn't really decipher anything from it, and the voices just added to the fear factor. One may hallucinate during an episode, such as hearing, feeling, or seeing things, so at least I know its something normal that happens as well.

I have had my fair share of weird dreams as well. I can probably try to remember some of them and post a thing or two about them here when I have more time.

@Flathead770: Well that mine cart flying machine isn't nearly as nonsensical as my flying wheelbarrow with blue rocks, but same general idea I guess.
:PCera

@ImpracticalDino: I've actually experienced that sleep paralysis many times, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I didn't know all that about the chemicals and hallucinating, however, but that makes sense. In fact, now that you mention it, I often find myself hallucinating as well during my sleep paralysis episodes. It would explain why I'm still in my bedroom, but then something weird might be going on that isn't actually there. It's like I'm in this bizarre reality where my dream world and my real world have merged into one. An eerie combination of real and unreal.

It's also freaky because I often feel scared by whatever it is I'm halucinating and I want to be able to get up and move, but I just can't, yet my mind is still aware of what's going on.

@Anagnos: Do let us know if and when you have time. I'd be interested to see what some of your dreams were like.

Decided to update this into a general dreams thread where people can post all sorts of wild and wacky dreams. :D

Yesterday, I was arranging a game session with @OwlsCantRead for when him and I would go play Minecraft later today, and that caused me to have a Minecraft dream last night. I was playing Minecraft and he was playing with me in the dream, which gives him the honour of being the second GoF member now to appear in one of my dreams (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=494.msg495762#msg495762).

Unfortunately, I don't remember too much about the play session itself. All I recall is that Owls and I built a colourful castle together, and then later on we were exploring this weird volcanic cavernous ruins area. There was also another point when I was travelling along a sky rail in a mine cart; then I went AFK for a while, only to come back to the game later and see that a monster had knocked me out of the mine craft, whereupon my character plummeted to his death. Hopefully not a sign of things to come for our actual play session coming up. :oops

@StardustSoldier: I don't know how you do it, but you always seem to have the most crazy, creative, unorthodox, and amazing dreams all the time. Yes, my dreams are very mind-boggling as well, but not to the upmost caliber that yours possesses. Don't worry about it, I'm sure your gaming session together will go splendid. And besides, you could always laugh off the bad things that happen. :)

Just curious, will both of you be using Minecraft Realms or like a normal server hosting?

I would share some more dreams I had even if they weren't LBT related, but unfortunately all memories associated with them are gone.

@ImpracticalDino I always have bad luck in Minecraft, so almost dying multiple times in a row counts. It is the GoF Minecraft server you two were talking about once with Stardust. That's hosted on a dedicated server.

But to not go offtopic, a night ago I dreamt of this refugee who busked on public buses and managed to earn enough to donate to charity. Rather weird concept.

Had a LBT dream for once after so long. It wa rather mundane, can't recall much but I think it's just the gang playing around, but it's a LBT dream nonetheless. :)

I'll take that as a compliment. :yes

Well thankfully nothing of the sort happened in our session together, not like in my dream. Although if I had died the same way in the session that I did in the dream, that would've been pretty funny. :p

I can't remember what I dreamt about last night. But the next time I do have a wild dream, I'll be sure to share it.

There actually was one dream that I meant to post here a while ago, but I completely forgot about it until I checked this thread today. I've already told this to people in the Discord server, but long story short (or rather long dream short in this scenario) I had a dream where I was busy working in the school that I'm currently doing my civil service at, and majority of the students were actually dinosaurs. I also remember that there was a small fight going on between students, but I can only recall the other one being an old man. :rolleyes

Are you sure if that would still be an improvement for those that may be a little difficult to handle? I've certainly heard quite fascinating stories from numerous teachers concerning these daredevils. Now, wouldn't they be twice as destructive and annoying if they were dinosaurs with short temper? :p

I had a bit of a scary dream just recently. I was hiding in a closet that had a transparent glass door with someone else. I have no idea why I was in a stupid place like that, considering that we were trying to hide from someone, but okay...?

We we were both trying to urge a person outside to come in, but then a guy with a gun suddenly appeared and pointed at us in the closet, and we tried to close the glass door. It was too late. I woke up after that, and it seems like the dream ended before the shot was fired.

@Anagnos: Were any of the dinosaurs Sharpteeth by any chance? :p

@ImpracticalDino I can't recall if there were any. It almost seemed like every dinosaur was a herbivore.

Interesting...a school that discriminated against carnivores? I’m sure Littlefoot wouldn’t approve of such insolence, and so wouldn’t his friends.

I wish you remembered who specifically, or what type of dinosaurs fought in that small fight. But oh well.

Generally stressful things. Not being able to find a bathroom when you need one, waking up too late for work, losing someone in a crowd, etc. Anxious stuff. All very short and all over the place.

Wow, those seem like very general concerns that most people think about at some point during their life. I hope that you’re not actually worried about those things in real life, which may have caused those dreams to happen in the first place. And I really hope it’s not some sort of premonition of what’s to come.

I had a dream yesterday that I was driving a car. The logic and physics didn’t seem real, because my car was speeding up too much for just slowly pushing more downward against the gas pedal. Only when I was pumping it was when the car sped up/stayed at a controlled speed. Overall, I hit the back of the car and went off lane a couple of times before discovering how to control the vehicle correctly, and everything was smooth sailing after that.

This very much reminds me of racing games that I had a big attachment for back in the day. In fact, could this dream have resulted from the aforementioned activity? Did you per chance, watch or play a racing game yourself before going to sleep?

Nope, nothing close to that. My dreams just seem to happen. They can correlate to events that happen in my life, but a lot of times they are just completely weird/random. I don’t even know why some of my dreams happen, but they do.

Now that I think about it, my recent activities may have played a part in my dream. It’s seems unlikely, but it’s the closet link. I played this game called New Rally X (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Rally-X) on my Pac-Man Plug N Play, and there’s also the other game called Pole Position (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_Position). In both of those classic arcade games, you control a car. In the first one, you’re just collecting all the yellow flags in a maze and avoid the red car that’s trying to chase you down. In the second game, it’s simply trying to get first place and getting towards the finish line before the time limit expires.

I don’t know if I asked you this already, but were you playing the version or New Rally X with the bagpipes in the music? The vid with the music alone is no longer available unfortunately, but here’s an example vid with the gameplay and music.

It’s not really the amount of “versions” per say, but the amount of different ports of the game that exist. Each port vary slightly different from the original arcade version, or drastically different. The certain port of the game I have is like the only version with the bagpipes in the music. The original and other versions don’t have it.

Now, this dream I had last night was pretty cool and surprising to say the least. I was browsing the Gang of Five forum and I was clicking on a couple of usernames from the member list. I found out that I was given an Administrator Rank, plus an “A Rating” seal of approval or something like that. My profile page also had a multiple custom backgrounds that changes sometimes each time I visit my profile page. I think a couple of other members in the list were given these privileges or similar, considering that their usernames had color to them. No, it wasn’t red, but like blue or purple. What I do know for sure that StardustSoldier also had the same rank and “A” rating like I did. I can only assume, based on the dream experience I had, that people I’m close friends with on the forum and/or held at high regards also shared these privileges too. Although, I only remember looking at the first page of the member list from sorted by most recently registered.

Pretty weird stuff, although it got a good chuckle out of me. And hey, better to simply dream about being drunk than to actually be drunk for real, methinks. :p

@ImpracticalDino: That is indeed a pretty cool dream. Hmm, do I smell another forum suggestion for the staff here? :idea

You told me a while ago to let you know if you ever appeared in one of my dreams. Well, it finally happened last night. You're the third GoF member now to make an appearance.

This is a bizarre one. I dreamt that you sent me a photograph of your television. I'm not sure why exactly; I think there was something else in the dream leading up to it that I've forgotten, which probably would've given it more context. But I'm pretty sure it had something to do with some sort of video game you'd been playing. Even though the TV was turned off in the photo, I guess maybe you wanted to show me your TV specs or something? What's also interesting is that it was one of those old-fashioned box-shaped TVs; not like a modern flatscreen or anything. Anyway, so I began to study the photograph up closely. Reflected in your TV was your bedroom. And in the top-right section of the TV I could see your bed against the corner of your bedroom. You were lying in bed and facing away from the TV, possibly sleeping, but I could see that you had short black hair. Your bedroom window also showed it was daylight outside, so maybe you were having an afternoon nap.

Hopefully that doesn't sound too creepy. That's just what happened in the dream. ;) It's also pretty nonsensical, in that you'd taken a photo of your TV, and yet you were clearly visible facing away from it, and you didn't seem to have a phone camera or anything with you to actually take the photo. But eh, that's dream logic for you.

@StardustSoldier: Hmm...that is one intriguing dream indeed friend. I used to have an old fashioned box TV in my room, but it has been replaced with a small flat screen TV for a very long time now, about 8 years I think? There are some things that your dream represented accurately and some things that it got wrong. My bed is located in the corner rather than the middle like a lot of bedrooms usually do. I have taken a lot of afternoon naps in the past, although I've recently and successfully tried to stop that habit. I do have short black hair at the moment (until it grows and I need it cut of course). Were the bedroom walls pink like I told you about before?

Weird dream logic indeed...I couldn't have taken the photo especially if I was taking a nap. :thinking

And regarding the forum suggestion...why not? :p

@rhombus @Mumbling: Is there a possibility that me, StardustSoldier, and all people associated with me can acquire the "Administrator" rank? ;)

The bedroom walls in the dream were not pink, even though I did remember you telling me that before, and I myself thought about that after waking up. In fact, in the dream, your bedroom appeared to be completely black-and-white! I think that's just because I was seeing your bedroom through the reflection in the TV, as opposed to seeing the bedroom directly... although even that doesn't really make sense, since in real life the reflection would still appear in colour.

...

Dream logic.

Did the bees look aggressive to you? Or did you just panicked and started swinging away with your hands? :p

I would personally say bees are timid and friendly until you try and intentionally harm it. Then they chase after you. As for wasps...maybe the same experience? I don’t get stung by them, but then again I also watch from a reasonably safe distance.

But it’s all fine. We all have phobias. :Mo

I rarely see bees and wasps nowadays. Their population seems to have dwindled where I live (which I'm completely fine with). But based on my childhood experiences, I would say that that's true of bees (most of the time, at least). Wasps, however, tend to be more aggressive. Even if you're not doing anything, they'll sometimes come over to check you out anyway and may even crawl around on you. As long as you sit perfectly still and don't panic, they'll generally move on, but it's still pretty scary. I myself used to be terrified of wasps as a kid largely for that reason.

I would personally say bees are timid and friendly until you try and intentionally harm it. Then they chase after you. As for wasps...maybe the same experience? I don’t get stung by them, but then again I also watch from a reasonably safe distance.

I know about the reputation of wasps, and I understand why. I just hope that people know the difference between bees and wasps, because many people on the internet just seem to refer to all of those tiny flying yellow insects as “bees”.

But since we’re on the topic of wasps too, this reminds me. Have you heard of the Executioner Wasp, or Polistes carnifex? Popularized by Coyote Peterson, it is claimed by him as the deadliest sting of all I think. Here’s a video of it if you want to watch. What’s also interesting is that it’s “not a particularly aggressive wasp species”.

Ugh...why can’t I have any LBT related dreams dang it! I only had one ever. :lol

If that dream were to hypothetically occur in the real GOF Discord server, I would personally say that you should let it all play out and do nothing about it. :p

I dunno, it would seem pretty entertaining to me. :P

Well you did have the one LBT dream a few months ago. Although they're quite rare for me as well; I've only had three so far. Here's hoping you have another one sometime soon.

And I agree, Cera starting a role war sounds like it'd be immensely entertaining indeed. I'd love to be on the server just to watch it play out. :-P

Stick with a clan, dammit! :bestsharptooth

Anyway, today's dream was flat-out wild. Probably the result of downing alcohol the previous night and I can't remember all the specific details.

I was with my family and basically shopping/debating with my mother for a long time. For some reason, different models of a 32X-like plugin was involved. There was some compatibility that was needed a specific model that we didn't get because either it wasn't in stock/too expensive. I can't remember, and it's weird because I typically don't enjoy shopping.

After that, we went and watched a movie. During that movie, my mom and brother left and some mastermind took control of the theater feed and threatened to unleash the coronavirus lest we give into his demands. It was like an action flick, and the dream ended there, so I can't tell you how that ended. :p

Two days ago, I had a really strange dream. I was sitting in a desk in a classroom sweaty and out of break. I’m not sure if I had a huge gym workout before that, haha. But anyway, my vision started to blur and I tried my absolute hardest to say conscious. It sorta seemed to work...for like 30 seconds and then the lights went out. Needless to say, I’m kinda shocked I passed out in a dream, and woke up again in that said dream. Interesting, right? So I’m in a bed now, and my mom is there to greet me. We go and get my jacket since they didn’t bring it with me for some reason. After we leave the (hospital area I think?), we suddenly end up in a huge shopping mall area. Like, how does that work? Dreams, lol.

I dreamt I was playing a first-person shooter game with a friend. Except that we ourselves were controlling the characters directly and we were standing in their place, firing with our weapons directly, etc. It seemed like it was sort of a virtual reality thing. It was just me versus my friend; a one-on-one match to see who could rack up the most kills. The game itself was a lot like the Nintendo 64 game Perfect Dark, which is probably what inspired my dream. I used to play that game so much as a kid. :wub (although I haven't played it now in quite a while, so it's interesting that I would dream about it again recently.) The environment was this futuristic base that was built into the side of a ravine. Similar to the "Ravine" multiplayer map in the actual Perfect Dark game, although in my dream it appeared somewhat different.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this dream, however, was the way it started and ended. I woke up partway into the dream. But then I fell back asleep again, and the dream actually picked up right where it left off, which was pretty cool!

This happens to me rarely, but it's always a treat when it does. Whether or not it becomes a lucid dream at that point is 50/50, too.

Ayyy, I recently had a dream just yesterday morning. After waking up, I went back to sleep and dreamt in just minutes, like wow. Okay, but here’s what happened.

I was still in my bed, I was awake, and I couldn’t move or get up for about 20 seconds for some reason. It’s kinda like sleep paralysis, but without the scary sounds of hallucinations. But finally after trying for awhile, I eventually got up and did my morning routine. After coming back from the bathroom, I went to open my IPad. It flashed 163% for one second before appearing as 63% as it should show. Yep, I definitely knew I was dreaming right there and then. My fingers looked blurry as well, also indicating a dream, which is why I got my passcode wrong multiple times. When I finally unlocked my IPad, I was greeted with a message, “50% Episode service limit left.” Weird, considering the prompt came from the IPad itself. Anywho, I also checked some kind of weird social media platform that I had apparently. I also saw that I had messages previously sent from a conversation I had with someone. When I saw the amount of friends I had on there, it was three. I’m probably suspecting...Owls, Stardust, and Anagnos...probably reminiscent of who I considered to be the closest to me personally on the GOF. This is more of speculation than anything since I never saw the identities or usernames of the friends, but who knows?

An exam was at 2pm. I willingly left late for the venue. The sheer panic of realizing I wouldn't reach the venue on time as time ticked down... wow.

This one was so bad that when I woke up and fell asleep again, I ended up continuing the same nightmare, realized it, and promptly jolted myself out of bed early. It was nerve-wracking.

Not a pleasant experience, Owls. Yikes. :(

Hmm...I wonder Owls. For some dreams that I have, when I realize it’s a dream, for some reason I would still continue on with what I was doing (as if I never knew I was dreaming in the first place), or I would try to do something to change the dream, only to fail miserably and be disappointed as the dream abruptly ends.

Do I need to meet very specific requirements in order to truly control a dream?

That's lucid dreaming, and often when you affect the circumstances of a dream you're semi-conscious, so I find that it's surprisingly easy to spring free from a dream.

I had another dream just two nights ago, a relatively short one though. I remember my brother and I hiding in my room with weapons that resemble the ones in a game called Doom (1993). He had a chaingun, and I had a shotgun. We were both anticipating an intruder to come through that pink door, and when the timing was right, we opened the door and aimed our weapons at the sorry person that tried to invade our home. Weirdly enough, nothing was waiting behind it. I was sort of disappointed, and the dream ended promptly after that.

Looks like I won’t be killing any demons just yet. :(

I haven't had any distinct dreams in a while, but rather a series of extremely peculiar ones for like two weeks or so. Everything in those dreams seems to happen randomly without any sense of direction at all. It makes waking up in the morning quite awkward when I try to recall what I saw last time. :p

Congratulations @ImpracticalDino. You appeared in another one of my dreams last night.

I dreamt that you and I were playing Minecraft together, only it was like no Minecraft game that I’ve ever played before. You were chasing after me for some reason and I was trying to get as far away from you as I could. I guess it was like a game of tag or something? Anyway, initially I was quite far away and I thought for sure that I’d be able to escape from you no problem. But then I could see your username bar appear in the distance (and you could see mine) and then you slowly started to catch up to me. I kept running so I could get away from you; I ran through this peaceful village and then through a forest, but you kept getting closer and closer.

Then I wound up inside this tower, which strangely bore a lot of resemblance to the swimming pool viewing gallery at my university. By then you were quite close to me, but I had a trap ready. I pulled this switch and made you fall through a crack in the floor. I thought for sure I’d be able to escape you then. However, I ended up getting lost inside the tower and couldn’t find my way back out. Then you caught up with me anyway and tagged me, and so then I lost the game. :p

This dream started off inside the Mad Max universe. All around it was a consistently barren desert wasteland, with all these biker gangs and other people with weird costumes, just like in the movies. Unfortunately I can’t remember a lot of specifics beyond that, but it was pretty cool. Interesting that I’d dream about Mad Max considering that I haven’t seen any of those movies in years.

But then that aspect of the dream faded away and then I was in my own city, although it was still hot and desert-like out. I was in this park down at the river bottom. It was at an actual real-life park in my city, although in my dream it appeared somewhat different. Then Anagnos unexpectedly called my cell phone. Except his first name was "Freddy" for some reason. :! But in the dream I still knew it was Anagnos somehow. Then Mumbling joined the call as well, so then we had a 3-way phone call going on. We arranged that we were all going to meet up in the park to hang out together. Alas, however, the dream ended soon after, so I didn’t get to see how that would’ve played out. :cry :p

Either way, congrats @Anagnos and @Mumbling. Now you guys have the honour of appearing in Stardust’s crazy dreams as well. :)littlefoot

Anyway, I woke up for a bit, then I fell back asleep and had another dream. I was in my city again, only this time instead of it being desert-like, it was now in the dead of the winter. Complete opposite setting. I was walking across this icy lake in my city. Even though it was -25C out and the lake should’ve been ice solid, the ice still cracked and I fell through. Yikes! Although thankfully I was able to pull myself back out of the freezing water.

@StardustSoldier: Wait...so it was only a game of tag, and it wasn't me pursuing you on a chase to kill a hapless victim? Pity, what a shame. I'm disappointed in my dream self. If I was actually there, I probably would've spared your life when I caught up to you...if you didn't activate that trap in the university that is. lol, tonight, in five-parts story dream, me and many other characters stormed alternate version of my house, opposing Freddy Krueger! 0_0
And we won, and he got arrested! XD
Still dunno, why one couple brought friggin cow with us, and how did it fit inside small 4-men elevator, together with others... They didn't give me clear answer when I asked about that. XD

Three first parts were horror themed, 3rd person perspective, fourth were not-scary already, where my character appeared and it turned to 1st person perspective in the mid of story progress, and last one, where we gathered and went after Freddy, turned into some kind of road adventure movie.

----------

BTW, guys, what places you appear in your dreams are the most common?
For me, it's 1000000 versions of my house and its nearest neighborhood. Elevators, horizontal and verical ones, and its shafts are the most popular part in my dream. XD
Second popular place - underground and subway tunnels. It was the time when I used to ride spiral wall escalators, but for some reason, I have met them extremely rarely in last years...  :thinking

Eh, I hate school too, but my dreams at school range from normal to somewhat weird. Sometimes I’ll just be in a normal classroom setting doing work, and another time I was in my pajamas on a school bus that seems to be going in circles for no apparent reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if that dream is symbolic of what school is and what it does to your schedule and mental health. :P

That's correct. There were no swords or any other weapons involved. Just you trying to catch up to me. Once you tagged me, my computer screen darkened and it said "Game Over" and it wouldn't let me play any more, but it otherwise left me alive. :p

Hmm, so the university trap is the difference between whether or not you would've wanted to kill me? Note to self for future reference: Impractical does not like being sent falling through floors.

I'd hesitate to call Mania a classic Sonic game, and looking the zone list up, the only two zones which were remotely similar were Green Hill and Chemical Plant anyway. It was a weird dream. I only know it's Mania because of the act card.

I had a rather weird, but also wonderful dream last night; I was (presumably) in an underwater research station discussing possible energy sources with my colleague. No decision was agreed upon, and the dream suddenly ended once my alarm went off. I can already guess the reason for this dream - I've finally been able to start playing Subnautica, as the entire game largely takes place underwater, it's not a huge surprise. :p

I read, watch, play something, and in 1/2 of cases, part of it appears in my next dreams.

I even tried to "construct" my dreams with it - before going to bed, I watched and thought about only that things I wanted to appear in my dreams.  :Mo

It was a short one, and too bad my memory of it faded pretty quickly, but you’ll still get the general gist of it. So I was on my computer watching a video of you and your little brother singing an LBT song together. You’re reasoning is apparently, “I wanna see how bad we sound like.” :lol

So you guys started singing something (idk which song), but one of you did Littlefoot’s role, and the other did Cera’s part. So obviously it has to be one of the songs where only Littlefoot and Cera sang. Listening to your voices, it wasn’t bad nor good, just normal. I don’t think you guys were even singing in tone. Like I said, my memory is blurry at this point. :p

So yeah, that’s about it. :)

Last night, I had a dream that kinda scared me to be honest. I was using my computer, and out of nowhere a bunch of Windows XP errors popped up at once with the classic XP error sound. Last night, I had a dream that kinda scared me to be honest. I was using my computer, and out of nowhere a bunch of Windows XP errors popped up at once with the classic XP error sound. This dream is very outdated at this point, but I’ll share with you guys anyway.

So I was at school in the hallway, and for some reason all of the teachers were looking at me angrily! And for no reason at all, they’re dumping a bunch of lunch food and trays on the ground while still glaring at me. Like what, do they expect me to clean up their mess? I think one teacher handed me a broom. I got pissed and tried to hit the person. They successfully knocked it out of my hand. They have another broom to try and hurt me I guess, but I also stole that one from the teacher before it connected with my head. And that’s all I remember from that one particular dream.

Weird, right!? :crazy

Long time I didn't do it...

And for the first experiment, tonight, or rather, tomorning, I will have to wake me up twice with alarm clock.

Measuring dream longitivity after first waking up in morning time, and measuring how much I will remember from it. I will even place a note that will remind me to start to remember my dream in first seconds after I wake up. :D

Whoooo boy did I have a weird dream last night.  I don't know if I'd call it a nightmare or not because while it should have been terrifying, the more I think about how ridiculous it was the funnier it gets.

Ok so I'm living in a little house out in the backwoods of Alabama.  Suddenly these British royal guards (the ones that guard Buckingham Palace) kick in my door, grab me and tie me up.  Then Queen Elizabeth appears from out of nowhere and informs me that she wants to retire from the public eye and live someplace nice and quiet where no one will ever find her, and she wants my house.

She then forces me to basically be her slave, cooking meals and cleaning while holding me prisoner in my own home.  At one point she ordered me to play the banjo for her.  I don't know how to play the banjo!  She also didn't like the lalles I made and criticized my choice in video games.  So there you have it.  I'm being held hostage and terrorized by the queen of England.

Somehow I escaped and I was running down the road when out of nowhere Queen Elizabeth starts chasing me down in a bright blue monster truck yelling at me about how I can't go to the police.  Then I woke up.

.
.
.

What a stupid, stupid dream!  Let's go over everything wrong with this crazy nightmare, shall we?

Ok so first, even if Queen Elizabeth DID decided to retire from the public eye and run off to some quiet corner of rural America to hide in, she could surely do a lot better than Alabama.  I mean, I'd pick some place pretty and scenic like Colorado where you can sit out on your porch and look at the mountains.

Second, with all the money and connections she has, why was it necessary to break into a random house and strong-arm the owner?  I could see not wanting to leave a paper trail but couldn't she have just had an associate buy a house somewhere for her?

Third, banjo music?  Really?  Just because I live in the south doesn't mean I play a banjo.  Also, I certainly hope the queen of England has better taste in music than that.

Forth, Queen Elizabeth chasing me in a bright blue monster truck...  I'm pretty sure the reason I woke up at that point was because my dream jumped the shark.

I had an even equally absurd dream. For some reason, I dreamt that my uncles had put me on constant surveillance in my room and I can't leave, and there was some weird stuff with a recording device that could pick up voices. Weird little dream. My brother and I felt trapped, and if I know my brother he wouldn't take it lying down like he did in my dream.

I had a rather peculiar and frightening dream last night. I was once again in the school doing my usual work when suddenly someone barged in with a loaded gun. I recognized this person as a teacher. Long story short, she pointed the gun at me and tried to kill me, but I locked myself in a classroom. However, that didn't stop her. One minute she was pounding on the door and the next she was standing right behind me. I don't remember anything else because this is where the dream ended. :confused

A most unusual dream. I can't even remember the details of it myself, but it basically involved a simulation of a futile Hunger Games/Battle Royale simulator, involving a group of desperate (not people? I think it's avatars) trying to survive. But since it's a video game environment, many of them were toyed by fate. So you basically have to try and protect as many of them as possible, but the kicker is that you can only delay their fates, their deaths are inevitable. The twist is that one of the final girls at the end actually has her rl persona working for the company that does the simulation, so she's actually alive, at least till the head honcho had us both at gunpoint. He then shot us both, and yeah that's when I woke up.

Uh yeah, that's the scraps I remember. What a bewildering concept. After I fell asleep again I had a weird mishmash of video game related dreams where my brain was clearly making things up as it went along. I remember a repeated boss in a Kirby game (Amazing Mirror), TTYD glitches involving a typo in speech, and a hotel. Don't ask me what last night was about.

I had another very realistic dream few nights ago. I was living in a totalitarian country and because of my dissident opinions I was shipped off to a prison island with many of my colleagues, friends and family. I remember I did everything I could to defy the authority, even at the cost of my own life. The dream ended soon after I'd pushed one of the prison guards off a balcony to his death.

Haven't posted here in a while. Although just last night I had two crazy dreams, so the timing seemed right.
:FoobieOooooo

First I dreamt that it was me, my mother, my brother, and Flathead. Yes, that's right, @Flathead770. It's not the first time he's appeared in a dream of mine. :P Although this time around in the dream I had a much clearer idea of what he looks like, as he did come to visit me earlier in the summer. :)

Anyway, it was the four of us in my mom's van, and she was driving us out to this big palace or something that's a popular tourist attraction in my city (which doesn't actually exist irl). Then we got to the palace and then things just got really weird. There was some sort of video conference where we were broadcasting footage of the palace to other countries to show off and brag about how cool the palace in my local city was. And then there were all these Harry Potter-esque ghosts flying around. And then my uncle showed up out of nowhere. Then I was trying to get up to a higher floor inside the building, and so I stood up on this banquet table to try and reach the upper floor, except I ended up knocking a wine glass off the table whereupon it smashed on the floor, and my uncle told me I shouldn't stand on the table. :P

The second dream was a bit less strange. I was watching a promo trailer for Digimon Adventure Tri. The trailer was all serious and moody and the animation was using these dark colours, although as a jarring contrast from that it was also playing an upbeat instrumental remix of the Hey Digimon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYrlSjQyrzY) song. I could recognize a few of the familiar Digidestined kids; Tai, Matt, and Sora. But then there were also a whole bunch of new kids with their own partner Digimon, who probably don't exist in the show for real and were just figments of my overactive imagination. :p

What's interesting about this dream is that I haven't actually seen Digimon Adventure Tri myself. Although I have been somewhat curious about it, and I did watch Digimon Adventure 1 & 02 back in the day.

I had this dream where my family was taking this walk and a frog the side of a dinner plate was sitting in the middle of the path. He was in this cage all by himself. We thought that he should have a frog friend, so we got him another frog. But then, he got really angry when we started to put the other frog in there, so we just left before anything bad happened.

Trick-or Treat randomly got cancelled in the middle of the dream due to Covid-19.

Then, my family watched this remake of "Gilligan's Island." They got new actors who were great, except for Mary Ann, who was 14. The episode was about the castaways finding a electric train, a blanket, and some lights that they used to make the island brighter. But Mary Ann thought that the items were using too many resources, including the blanket. Well, she was right because the train started slowing down, the lights went dimmer and the blanket was unraveling, so everyone said, "Well, these must be using resources." So everyone took the items away from the castaways, but when that happened, the whole island went dark, and no one knew what to do without a light source. But then the sun came up and all their problems were solved. That was my bizarre, off-the-wall dream.

Well, here's a strange dream I had a while ago. I had checked out a movie from the library to watch with @Little Bro and I don't really remember the circumstances that made me choose this movie (if that was even mentioned in the dream), but for some reason, I was really feeling obligated to like it. But all signs pointed to this thing being one of those super cheap, low-budget B-movies for kids, and we didn't even have to get very far into the movie for this to be confirmed.

The animation quality of this show was really primitive, about like 90s-era CGI. Weirder yet, it turned out not all of the movie even was animated. There were these random live-action segments in there. It was more like we were watching a collection of different skits/segments than an actual coherent movie, because it just jumped from one thing to the next with no rhyme or reason.

The movie started off with this cartoony bit about an explorer encountering a native tribe in the jungle. Straight off the bat, he developed a crush on the natives' princess (typical B-movie). The guy started trying to befriend the tribe so he could win the princess over. However, the reason he'd originally come to the jungle was to exploit the tribe's resources, so he had to keep that a secret from them, but then he started feeling guilty about that. All this was portrayed in a very shallow way, especially since the explorer used a really annoying combination of "nerdy loser" stereotypes (pathetic, whiny, skinny) with no redeeming qualities that make me like his character. I wasn't feeling impressed with this movie.

That's when the show made its first bizarre jump to what seemed to be a totally different segment, before the whole jungle plot was even resolved. Now we were watching some live-action scene with two humanoid robots. Weirder yet, the robots looked like they came straight out of a cheesy classic TV show, wearing tacky metallic suits and silver face paint. They also had eyes that had been colored bright red with special effects, resulting in a creepy vibe that I thought must've been way worse than the filmmakers had actually intended. I remember that they were villains plotting something, but I don't remember what their plan was or if it even had anything to do with the earlier stuff in the movie.

The movie played out with several more strange bait-and-switches like that, leaving me and my brother with barely a clue as to what we were even watching. Our mom kept coming into the room to ask, "How is it?" and we just told her it was "okay" because it was so utterly weird we didn't even know what to think.

Then the dream skipped forward to about a week later, when the movie was almost due back at the library. Since we still didn't know what we thought about the movie, plus I was still feeling obligated to like it for some mysterious reason, guess what my brother and I did then? That's right...we started watching this wacko movie a SECOND time.

Yeah, I don't know what to make from any of that, either. :rainbowThinking

^Hmm, maybe I should write a novelization of all that. What do you think?
:PAli

These are a couple of dreams I had a while ago. I shared them on Discord before, but am posting them here for the first time.

In the first dream, I was in an underground building that consisted entirely of these industrial-looking light grey hallways. There were a lot of branching paths and I kept going forward, but every hallway just led to another hallway, over and over. It was eerie. What inspired the dream was, at the time I had been watching a playthrough irl of this horror game called Nighttime Visitor, which takes place in an office building. The hallways in that game look very similar to the ones I had in my dream.

I had mentioned the dream to @zero-point before, as he'd told of how he gets these similar terrifying dreams of endlessly repeating labyrinths of furniture and other things.

My second dream was even more random. I went skiing with ImpracticalDino, Belmont, and Serris. Then afterwards, the four of us went to this local pizza restaurant in my city for lunch.

Wow, this dream was something else. Prepare to be amazed! :p

So I was staring out the window at my neighbor across the street, who was mowing the lawn, and these people came from this walking path that goes right by the neighbor's house. Well, the people who were walking just passed out right in front of the neighbors' house! Well, my neighbor saw the people lying on the ground passed out but just didn't care and kept mowing the lawn.  :wow Luckily, the people were okay.

Then, my mom was talking to the neighbors next door. They wanted us to babysit their dog, which in real life is a collie. Something weird about this part is the fact that the neighbor was wearing a brown cowboy hat. When we agreed to watch the dog, the neighbors left and opened up their garage door. Suddenly, this big black boxer the size of a house came out of the garage, and this boxer had some drooling issues.  :! We didn't want a drool shower, so we watched the dog from inside the house.

Finally, my mom, who loves watching hummingbirds in real life and puts up feeders to attract them, decided she was tired of hummingbirds. She wanted to attract plain ordinary birds. So she took down the hummingbird feeders and got 5 bird feeders. But she painted one bright yellow and another bright pink. But a bird came to the feeder and touched the bright yellow paint and the bright pink paint. Now this bird had a bright pink head, and bright yellow tail feathers.

Wow, that dream was weird.

Quite an unusual one. I think my mind managed to come up with a 52-volume anime/book series with some drama and intrigue. I dreamt up the first 10 volumes, but they were so many characters that I couldn't remember, especially because the POV character changes constantly. There was some betrayal and tension involved I think, and it involved me finding a huge fanclub of the imaginary series.

The most LBT thing was me and my friend running along a building and coming across a beached Mo desperately in his death throes next to a fisherman. I recognized him, stopped and bargained with the fisherman to get him. Pulling out my wallet, I went from offering $10, then $15, then $25. I never knew if the fisherman accepted it, because my friend dragged me away as we were in the middle of a chase or something.

So yes, Mo is literally worth ~$25 to me. Make of that what you will @ImpracticalDino. :MoEvil

Also, that isn't the part that irked me. Leaving Mo there with the fishermen and essentially condemning him to death was the horrible part. Yeah, I know your friend was pulling you away because you were now in some kind of "chase" or whatever, but uh, nobody leaves a Mu-u-u-udd Brother behind! :cry

I distinctly remember mentally calculating exchange rate because my mind conjured up some imaginary currency. I was already offering more than I anticipated.

The weirdest part is that after I was dragged away, my dream cut back to the fisherman and Mo. I even think the fisherman made some snarky comment about it since I'd already paid but was dragged away before I could get Mo.

Ohhh guess it's my time to post because it was somewhat related to LBT, so I might as well :P

I dreamed I was in the book section of a thrift store and came across an old book regarding the Land Before Time. I bought it, thinking it was some kind of comic book version of the original movie. However when I opened it it turned out to be first of all made by request of Donald Duck (the magazine, not the character :P ), and then it turned out not to be a comic book at all (damn, was hoping for some deleted scenes!)... But instead it was a book with real-life locations that inspired images in the movie, complete with comparative pictures and coordinates so you could go there yourself, haha.

What a mess ;) Although that would be pretty cool to have IRL!

I didn't recognize any of them, so I don't think they were actually based on the Land Before Time! Mostly pretty landscapes, lakes, mountains, that sort of thing! Think it might have been influenced by the Flight Simulator comparison pictures I've been seeing on the internet of late (where people take a pic IRL and then compare it to the location in game :P )

I see. Well, it's still pretty amazing when you think about it. I agree that having a book like that in real life would be great. :CeraHAPPY

I usually have rather weird dreams (I.E Me trying not to let somene kill an orangutan to make an orangutan cake or an orangutan milk cake.) or downright horrible dreams (I.E our car skidding off the road to Ottawa and falling into the Ottawa river.), but sometimes I can have decent dreams such as;

1. Rita the cat from Animaniacs has a full belly from eating a fish while on some spaceship.

2. 4 new (even though it's been months since I came up with those OCs) Land Before Time OCS (all 4 of them were a family of Therizinosaurus) which I shared to this website, DeviantArt, and The Land Before Time wiki.

3. A new cartoon universe with 5 characters I'd decide to call "The Prehistoric Kids" which consisted of a purple male Apatosaurus kid , a green male Chasmosaurus kid, a male Stegosaurus kid, a green female Pteranodon kid, and a green male Pteranodon kid. I can't remember every name of each character but I remember the female Pteranodon kid being called "Paty", the Stegosaurus kid being named "Stellar", and the Chasmosaurus kid being named "Cassie".

4. Ducky showing her large tan belly (I know that's what she is supposed to look like but compared to Mama Swimmer and all the adult Saurolophuses, Ducky looks really fat so therefore, I think that Ducky and her siblings are a different variation of Saurolophus.) and saying "Do I look fat."

5. 3 new species and 1 new cartoon universe(one of the animals them looked like a Yellowbelly except that it had a longer tail, had less feathers, had a dodo like beak, and was normally thinner, the other species looked like a Blue Whale except that it had blue stripes on its back and underside, teeth, and no throat groves, and the other looked like a human, except that it had a pointer nose and ears, always had hair reaching to the shoulders, and did not have a navel, nipples, or women boobs because I disliked those body parts.) which I'm thinking about sharing this to the DeviantArt user MCsaurus.

6. The YouTube gamer Drae (if you don't know him, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf2ocK7dG_WFUgtDtrKR4rw) playing a fictional game with Gmod style designs and at some level where the player has to fly an object to space, he tries flying an Osprey helicopter to space but the vehicle lost airspeed and stalled. Then he tried flying an inflated Sandy Cheeks design to space but he had to go through a roller coaster thingy with this design and could not go to space. Then he gave up and rage quitted and the video's name was "I CAN'T F**KING FLY THIS THING TO SPACE!".

7. Something about Wayne Knight coming up with the Alpha and Omega franchise.

8. 5 Sonic OCS (Even though I know this is a highly overrated franchise.) called The Puff Team which had an ability to puff up. I don't really remember the character's names but I remember there being a blue hedgehog that is similar to Storm the Albatross, a pink fox that looks similar to Tail except that it was a she and had one tail, and the rest I forgot although I remember there being one green male swallow as part of the team.

9. A Cats Don't Dance sequel released in 2007.

No LBT related dreams this time. Sorry. :FoobieOooooo

The dream I had yesterday managed to scare the bejesus out of me. I'm not sure where exactly I was or even if I was on Earth anymore, but I was inside an exploration submarine in the middle of the ocean. But then an underwater floating island seemed to appear out of nowhere behind me. Curious, I moved to investigate it because I'd never seen anything like it. I'm not sure how much time passed, but suddenly I noticed that the island was nowhere to be seen. At first I thought it was all in my head, but then I looked up through the front window. I was right under it. Somehow, I don't know how, I'd drifted down without noticing.

I didn't think much about it at first. But then it became eerily quiet and the light of the sun could no longer reach me down in the depths. Then I heard something in the distance. It was big, and moving towards me. I never got a good look of it as that's where the dream ended. It's not a coincidence that the underwater island seemed familiar, for it was the very same one from Subnautica. :p

A while ago, I had this dream that I was writing a Frozen fanfiction, with the fanfiction playing out in my head like a movie as I was writing. That premise in itself was weird--I mean, Frozen? :rolleyes I like Frozen alright, but it's still pretty overrated if you ask me. I definitely wouldn't choose to write something about it...

Anyway, what I remember was that the Frozen characters were in a tropical jungle, and Kristoff had just been attacked by this giant crablike monster. As the monster held him in its claws, Anna was screaming hysterically, while Elsa was shooting ice at the monster to make it put Kristoff down. (I don't know where Sven and Olaf were, but given the setting, I'd guess the latter had probably ventured too close to a volcanic flow and met his scalding-hot doom.) :p

The only other thing I remember about the dream was that later, I was flipping through a magazine, and at the back there was a weird Megamind poster. The picture had Minion commenting to Megamind, "I think our pet-sitting business is going really well!" and in the background, the "pets" were some MLP changelings getting into mischief around the evil lair. So, yeah...don't ask me how some MLP villains became pets in the Megamind universe, because I was just as lost as you are.
The night before last, I had another weird dream where my family and I were taking a walk...on Mars. :olittlefoot How we got to that point wasn't explained at all, but I guess Mars must've been starting to be colonized or something, because there were a couple buildings and some trees around. My family and I weren't even wearing space suits or anything, just our normal clothes. It was pretty much exactly like Earth, just with dusty red ground and a yellowish sky like you always see in those Mars rover photos. I recall thinking that it was such a nice, quiet place for walks and that we should make it our regular walking place, then remembering that the trip was so long that it would be too inconvenient. :p

Pretty weird dream I had that would only make at least a bit of sense if you’ve seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (or read the book).

I dreamt that it was the part of the movie where the Hogwarts students were having their secret Dumbledore’s Army meetings behind Dolores Umbridge’s back. Except that I was also one of the students, and we were hiding from Umbridge in some very strange places. I distinctly recall there some sort of weird mansion with these tall rooms and long hallways and other bedrooms that we were sneaking around in trying to avoid Umbridge. And then we were also hiding out in a location I’m familiar with in real life; the garage of my mother’s apartment building. Even weirder is that we all decided to sleep there. So there’s me and all these other kids, and we all have sleeping bags and are lying on the cement floor of this garage, trying to get some rest but also being too anxious to fall asleep because we were worried about getting caught at any moment. But it must have been a good enough hiding place, because Umbridge never did find us. :p

Then after that, apparently Umbridge was no longer an issue, because then there was this contest amongst us students to see who could make the best lion costume. I’m guessing that this part of the dream was inspired by the part in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince where Luna is wearing that ridiculous lion outfit for the Quidditch match, but it was still pretty random. So here I am; I want to be able to participate in the contest to make this great lion costume. But the contest ends in only a few hours, and all the clothing I wanted to purchase for the costume I’d have to order online and it would take days to come in, so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to come up with a good enough costume in time. Alas, I didn’t get to see how the contest ended or who won it, because then I woke up. :!

The inspiration for this dream came from how my local movie theater was replaying all the Harry Potter films, which my mother and I went to go see. :)

Last time I had a Harry Potter-related dream. This time it was about Fantastic Beasts.

I remember Newt Scamander sitting on a couch watching television, and this news anchor was making fun of him on live TV for some reason. Then Newt, as revenge, cast a spell to cause the news anchor’s cell phone to keep randomly going off during his broadcast and embarrass him.

Then it went to Jacob Kowalski. He was at a party goofing off and acting silly. But then after the party, he was driving home and he had become much more somber and serious. It turned out he had three children, and I was one of them! (I was much younger in the dream; in my late teens.) It was me and my two younger sisters in the car with him (even though I don’t have sisters irl). By the time the four of us made it back home, Jacob was so upset that he started crying, and me and my sisters tried to comfort him and cheer him up. It was something to do with his job at his bakery and not being satisfied with where his career was going that he was upset about.

One other part I remember, I think after the party but before we made it home, is when we went out grocery shopping together as a family, and I was riding in the bottom of the cart like a little kid. I guess maybe I still felt young at heart.

My dreams are weird, man.

That does sound like something Newt Scamander would do, ngl.  :PCera

I had a dream last month that I got into USC (University of Southern California) which is a really good school, despite the recent scandals. Hoping it's a sign from the universe  :bestsharptooth

I had a dream last night that four members on the forum, RainbowFaceProtege, @Gentle Sharptooth , @Mumbling and @Sneak , and I were doing an online game where you had to make a planet that can hold life on it and you get a score based on how well the planet is made. You got to choose the planet's size, color, life, and climate. We couldn't get anywhere in the game because Mumbling and Sneak wouldn't stop fighting over if the planet should be yellow or red. We got a score of 0 because we didn't get past step 1.

Haha now that's quite something! Come on Sneak, the planet clearly should've been yellow ;)

Just had one about Ducktales (2017). Mainly about their version of Darkwing Duck.

Quote
So Jim found Drake as a bitty, but in this verse, they're their usual selves, but they can still fly like the real life counterparts. Only Drake's wings were cruelly clipped off when he was young, so he didn't have arms either.

Despite Jim taking him in, people were criticizing Drake about being unable to do any heroics because of his disability, making him feel bad. Jim doesn't want any of that garbage tho, so he becomes Papa Wolf about it. And Drake works hard, having his hero believe in him.
