Attic Treasures / Hiero's Journey
« on: December 24, 2007, 01:36:30 PM »
This is a book by Sterling Lanier that I think is quite possibly one of the greatest sci-fi/fantasy books ever written, along with its sequel, The Unforsaken Hiero.
If any of you have read these books, please share your feelings about them.

Silver Screen / Eragon
« on: December 30, 2006, 12:43:17 AM »
Well, who here has seen the new movie Eragon? I just finished reading the second book roughly a week before I saw the movie, and I must say, I disliked it a great deal. It was far too different from the novel, and it really emphasized how derivative the story was. With the book you could acknowledge that and still greatly enjoy it, but the movie just made messed it up.
I was wondering how this happened, until I read this on Wikipedia:
Quote
The screenwriter is Peter Buchman, who is best known for his script for Jurassic Park III.
Now I get it!

Anyway, I'd like to hear your opinions about it. Any of you chaps seen it?

Role Play Discussion / OK, I just have to say
« on: December 03, 2006, 01:01:50 AM »
I've seen that some of the RPGs have been closed just because they've been inactive for a while. That doesn't exactly seem fair. Maybe someone(me, for starters,) will come along and want to join one, and won't be able to because it's locked.
Maybe it's just me, but that seems kind of unfair.

Silver Screen / Serenity

Anyone seen Serenity? Or Firefly, the TV series it's based on? I think it's good. Definitely one of Joss Whedon's better movies.

Hello! I believe that Adam, arboldin, Tophsman, Raptor, and a few others will know me from a Jurassic Park site we all frequent. You shall all recognize me either by my username or by this sentence:
RELEASE THE WINGED FURBIES!!!
 :lol
That should explain alot. Anyway, I've been thinking of joining for a while now, so I guess I'm here.
