Title: LBT Monopoly play session #1

A very basic version of LBT Monopoly (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=12092.0) is ready to play in Tabletop Simulator (https://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/). If you have the game, you can download the mod here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1850213493

Wanted to schedule a community play session during the weekend. If you'd like to join, please vote above! :)

I voted the first option, "Friday 18/10 @ 4 PM EST". That's probably the only time that'll work for me, as I'll be out of town visiting extended family during the rest of the Thanksgiving weekend.

That said, no need to feel obligated to go with that option alone if it doesn't work for anyone else. If I can't join this upcoming game, I can always play some other time.

Ah, I didn't realize the poll was set to just 1 option. Changed that now in case anyone wishes to vote for several time slots. But if Friday is the only one that works for you, then I guess that didn't matter much for you :D

Oh, I thought you did that on purpose for some reason. :P But yeah, I guess for me it was just as well anyway. :p

I should be flexible on weekends in general as long as it's not ridiculously late for us europeans.

Just a quick post here to summarize:

The first game was a lot of fun! There's a couple of things that need to be changed and I'll do so... at some point.

-Make hands public
-Color tokens for characters to see which properties are owned
-Luck cards are sideways
-Lay out all property cards at the start

For when I'm feeling bored:
Create different backs for all cards indicating debt value.

I must admit, watching you guys play was a fun experience. And might I dare say that I gathered enough information on how the game is played, as it has been ages since I played Monopoly, much less on Tabletop Simulator. Hopefully I can make it to the next game. Thank you Mumbling for setting this up for us! :D

I'm not going to play again, the rules are stupid imho. We're playing it completely different in my family.

That's fine, I can understand how playing by the official rules is no fun if you're used to something else. You can always play it with others with your rules of course. But as always with Monopoly, agree upon things up front. I hope you still had fun up to that point though :)

I hope to make the next game.

I also think that it might be better (though impossible to do for the likes of us) that stuff like paying and earning money happens automatically as cheating and accidental mistakes are quite easy to make in tabletop

I did all of the above now! Might be that making hands public is something the host of the game has to take care of when setting up the game, but I hope that the setting is remembered when people start a new game.
