Only problem is, I could spend months saying good things about the people here! :p :lol :D
so I'll keep it short for now. :P:
Petrie, Malte, Littlefoot1616, Nick22, Littlefoot Fan, Pokeplayer, Cyberlizard, Darkhououmon...all the old-timers who were here with me "back in the day"...You've all been so awesome, which is why I've stuck around so long! The GoF started off like a little family (which has grown to a big family!), with you all, and more whom I didn't talk to so much, but I thank you all for being who you are. :) If not for you, I wouldn't still be here and things would be much different for me... :p
Mumbling/Iris...You've been nothing short of inspirational! :) You took over the GoF singing project when I had too much else going on, which so many people here love. You've been so uplifting; such a warm heart on the GoF, you bring joy to any topic you post in. :p :lol: You've been a shoulder to cry on, a welcome sight after staring at code for hours, a push when life gets hard...You've certainly been my inspiration and more! :)
Littlefoot Fan...my annoying little brother. :p Not incredibly active on the GoF but we've had all sorts of good times on MSN chats. He's been a really good guy on the boards as well...when he actually posts :p :lol Really friendly, really relaxed, really easy to talk to...and we like a lot of the same music. :p

Action9000: I don't think this guy realizes what impact he made on me.
I'm just going to say that there was a part of me that thought this guy was some what of a fake. I saw that Single/Couple life topic he made and I thought, "Does he really believe in this?"
Unfortunately, because of the experiences I have had with the opposite gender, I was a bit skeptical about him. However, at the same time, he posted in my "Self-Esteem" topic and told about how he sometimes felt he "was a soul with a lost purpose". I believed this guy immediately.
To me, he's that type of person that is there for you when you need help. He is a hard worker, passionate, and confident. That's how I view him.
Cancerian Tiger: Even though she might get upset easily as certain things, she is able to calm down and try again. I really symphosize with her on this, because I am the same way. We are both quite sensitive beings and we are out spoken as well. She still reminds me of those big sisters that will basically be there when ever you are in trouble. She's someone I REALLY want to get to know better.
Mumbling: She’s a wonderful girl whose sweet, sisterly, a fantastic artist, and very understanding. I have pmed her lately and I find our conversations enjoyable. Another thing, she is VERY HUMBLE. However, I also found out she can have that "sly" sense of humor, which is great! Sweet, with a bit of tart.
Malte: At first, I was plainly annoyed with this guy. This had to do with reading some his posts that made me go, :huh:? I also env(ied) this ability to be clear with what he had to say what he needed to say practically clearly all the time. English isn't even his first language, which I find impressive. Of course, he is older then me, so I guess that would make sense. I suppose...
But anyhow, I admire this guy for being an intellect and a deep conversationalist. I would like to get to know him more.
Neptune Navigator: While he may not know, we actually have quite a bit in common. He seems to get overly worried about certain things and he seems to be self-consious. Once I saw this posts about how he needed to take a break from the AM section because of being "zealous" and probably other things that has happened that I don't know, I saw myself.
However, he was able to turn around and now I see him on the board for quite a while. I would like to get to know this guy a lot more, because like i said above, I think we have more in common then we realize.
Darkhouomon: Her posts may not be too emotional, compared to some posts I have seen, but this ability she has is what is really striking about her. Her ability to not get so emotional on certain subjects that can really get others emotional about. She is also seems to be ever forgiving. This I find another great striking trait about her. She’s able to look past the faults about the person and is able to see the good. She is also a fantastic artist and wonderful story teller. :) She’s a bright lady as well.
Shauni: I seriously adore her. She’s a big sister that I can just be all crazy and real around. I love her comments on my story. She’s funny, bright, caring, and she’s that big sister that would destroy the person trying to harm the people she loves.
Tropicalia: She’s kind, loving, best friend material and she has a VERY good sense of humor. She is also understanding and a FANTASTIC artist!
Great Valley Guardian: To be honest, I was really surprised in a past comment on another site where said, “You are my friend.” I knew he favored and commented on a lot of my art, but I never knew he would say something like that o.O I love his ever continuous compliments. He’s understanding, encouraging, and seems to be the good brotherly type :)

You set aside the time to design artwork for our LBT game, which was absolutely beautiful, by the way! As the project lead for the game, I'm extremely happy with the amount of support it's received and am very impressed with your efforts!

Aw, thanks action! :^.^: I agree with you, about me being random... :P: It's think of shocking I admit...for you to say that I "stand up for what I believe in"...I feel that I am a wishy washy person from time to time...then again...I have been growing a tough skin to stick to what I believe in...so...many thanks! :D

Okay. I'm not going to go sugar-coating my every word, trying to make people feel good. I don't have to! I'm just going to state the facts that I know about each persons attitude and if you've got a good one, you won't need any sugar-coating. :) Let's begin:
Rat_lady7: Although I do not know this member very well (let me clear something up. When I say that I don't know a member very well, it just means that I have lacked the one-on-one communication with them that I feel is necessary to actually really know who that person really is.), I do know that she is overly obsessed with the Avatar tv series. When an obsession is a healthy one, it improves mood and overall efficiency of a person. This is a good thing. I know that she tends to stay out of confrontations, although isn't shy and timid like some when it comes to speaking her opinions about a matter in fear of offending others. It seems to me that her attitude is "My opinion is my opinion. If it offends someone else, so be it. I'll apologize of course, but I'm not going to hold back my opinion unless I know for a fact that it could hurt someone." Although this can induce confrontation with some of our less understanding members (noobs for the most part who are shy to come to GOF), this is a good attitude so long as it is not pushed over its limits. I won't pretend to know everything about this person, however I do believe that she is capable of handling confrontations if they directly involve her. This is a member that I would like to get to know better however my time on MSN is limited and I really don't have time at the moment.

NN2001: I do know this person fairly well. We have talked on MSN. NN is very afraid of offending people. In the beginning, he was so afraid to the point that it was quite frankly annoying. I believe this must have stemmed from childhood, but I can't be sure. Since he joined however, I believe that for the most part he's accepted the fact that you just can't please everyone every time. Unless you're saying something that's highly controversial, that amount of agreement and fear of offending people is not necessary. Despite the fact of his timidness, he seems to have adapted to life very well here on GOF. This person tends to live in their head for the most part. When people live in their head, there is usually a couple of reasons. First, if their real life is not very good, they tend to hide themselves in their mind. This is the most common cause for living in ones mind. Another reason for living in ones mind is the fact that it's just the way the mind works. Social disabilities also can cause this. There's nothing wrong with living in your mind or having social disabilities. Most people agree that great minds such as Galileo, Albert Einstein, and Leonardo da vinci all had lived in their minds more than in the physical world and/or had social disabilities. I believe that NN has become a valuable member of GOF.

I've known this person for as long as I've been a member. We share just about every interest except for music. As all of the other admins, he is always there to sort out disagreements and to correct people when they're wrong. I don't know much about this members recent activities seeing as we haven't talked on MSN in such a long time (sorry Action. My schedule is so drastically different than yours is apparently) but I do know that hard situations don't bring him down. All in all he has a great attitude on GOF and in the real world. Heck, if he were closer I'd hire him. :^.^: I'm afraid that I know this person too well to really go any further. I don't want to divulge any personal information by accident. I do know that he's a great guy and the board is very lucky to have him as an admin. I can't imagine anyone better suited to the job. :)

Mumbling:
I've talked to this person on MSN before, but not enough to get a clear-cut view of everything about her. She is on the timid side, but not too much. She is very intelligent and speaks several languages. She is well liked by many and is obviously a people person at least online. I know that her personal life is drastically different than mine, however despite that fact we can get along just fine. I was quite frankly surprised when I told her over MSN how to do something in photoshop and she did it on the first try, especially since I accidentally left out a step or two that if not done could totally destroy the image (stupid me. :bang ). She is quite shy, but considering her upbringings it is understandable. I really do think that GOF helps people psychologically. She's not even close to as shy as she was when she first joined. I did notice that when posting artworks she didn't immediately shoot them down, when most people who show their artwork for the first time usually do (including me). She seems to be going onto a good life and career. Being fluent in English certainly can't hurt her. I wouldn't call her 100% fluent yet because there are very minor errors in her text, however that can easily be fixed in a month or so. It's always nice to get new members that don't turn tail and run. It might have been difficult for her to join, however I'm glad she did and I'm sure a lot of other people here are too.

It is easy to be friends with someone with whom you agree on anything and everything, but when it is possible to disagree on some issues and still appreciate each other and learn from each other; that's friendship that can stand tests :yes

We have a lot in common (as we so often discovered in our MSN chats) and both of us have been there for each other when the other one needed him. You were really a lot of help to me in those gloomier days earlier this year Tim :)

Tim is by no means the only one who helped me in times when I was under real pressure. Apart from cases of disagreement as mentioned above the sticking to the other one in times when he is not all cheers and happiness is an important quality of a friend which Patrick certainly showed :)

The kind of friendship which didn't start out easily. To many people I come across as intimidating to the point where they are scared of me. I don’t mean to intimidate or scare anyone, but it still is the way I am often perceived. Yet inspite of feeling sort of scared of me Kacie got to know me better and started discussing matters where she knew we had different opinions. Meanwhile there is a very creative exchange between the two of us :)

Pure, honest friendliness at its best! I very much cherish the memory of the kind hospitability I enjoyed when I visited Jason in London and I am looking forward to the day when I can return his hospitability. He too has the ability to distinguish between not agreeing on everything and not liking each other and that is a trait I really appreciate a lot :yes
There are many members whom I would love to get to know better as so far our contact is limited to the GOF so I cannot really assume to write about them.

Sky: I SERIOUSLY envy his ability to draw. I must know his secrets.... :o
LBTlover: There was (and still is) a part of me that doesn't completely trust this guy. Once I saw his pictures in the "Show us a picture of yourself" topic my trust for him isn't really there. However, "The Land Before Time" topic moved me to write that reply that I did. While sometimes I got annoyed with how "truthful" he can was. However, he does have a kind heart and his humor can be pretty funny. I also envy his knowledge of computers. Seriously, it's definitely something that's going to help him in this "techo" world.
Petrie: This guy...I can't say I was completely "comfortable" when he was around. I was actually wary when I saw him logged on. Like LBTlover, sometimes his honesty got a bit carried away and his sarcasm got me angry with him. He found out how I felt about him and well, we talked over it and we seem to be okay. He does a good sense of humor, I just need to get to know him better.
Ptyra: Of course! I like the fact that she's a complete Pterano fanatic. She doesn't seem to be hard on herself at all and I like her drawing ability, especially her vipor drawings. :) She's the type of person I would really like to get to know better. :)

The only people in the lists are the ones I talk to and know things about. Its foolish to think I can put everyone in when I don't know everyone. What I write is how I feel--no matter how brutally honest that may be.
Malte - the reason you're first on this list is because I've known you the longest....long before the Gang of Five even. Our bygone email messages back and forth about life and everything going on made you my first net friend. So much alike (thoughts on history) and so different (still have not had fondue! :p ) it was natural that you would follow me with all my LBT projects. Many of these are no longer around, yet here you still are. That's a friend. :)
Tim - you're next on the list because besides Malte, I've spoken to you the most and know a lot about you as you do me, and that's what makes a friendship blossom. You're the only one who can fully care about a 128kbps mp3 sound test and my longtime thoughts on audio mixing and playback. There was something I saw about you that made me put you on the GOF staff almost immediately, and I'm glad to say I never felt more right about that decision three years ago. You're an amazing friendly person that everyone ought to know.
Jason (Littlefoot 1616) - you're on my list for being the kindest, most sincere, and a great listener. You will never find better "people skills" than what you can get out of him. You have a problem...he listens and offers advice. What's not to like about that?
Aaron (NeptuneNavigator) - you're a tough cookie to read. I never can tell how you feel or why things are talked about, but yet they are, without a care of how someone will react. To be so open to others takes courage to do, and I'm thankful you did so that I could help you out with life's problems. You don't get good answers by hiding behind a person you are not. I admire your honesty.
Steve (Lucario#1) - trust me, his messages and speech are nothing like what is represented on this forum. He's professional online, and like Aaron, very open about things, even when they are not positive. I admire your honesty as well. Without honesty and trust, a friendship means nothing, and I feel in a short time, its almost like we've known each other forever. Plus he's another Watershipper so that's a plus in my book. :p
Iris (Mumbling) - the sweet girl with hardly a negative thing to say. That's how she comes across to me. She's worked hard on some recent LBT projects, and I've been glad to offer her help in the music encoding department for distribution to the forum members.
Austin (landbeforetimelover) - the other computer expert besides myself :p No really on another forum, I'm the computer expert but that's fine...he knows a lot more than I ever will, and his experience has come in handy when I've run into my own problems. Trust, once again, is big, and I knew Austin would be able to help me my computer issues and I'm glad to have found out enough about him to confirm his kindness to others.

Okay. I'm ready to write some more. I'm going to write about a lot of members but I like to write as much as possible on each individual so It'll take me some time and a few posts. Anyways, let's go!
Malte: This user is very understanding about most matters. He gets upset sometimes, but his anger isn't very substantial and he cools down very quickly. This is an admirable quality, especially since some members have done more than enough to provoke him (myself and some banned members included). I don't know how fast he really types, but it must be fast seeing as he writes very long posts. What I like about Malte is although his posts are long, he doesn't use "garbage" sentences. What I mean by that is he doesn't repeat stuff in a different way to emphasize its meaning. That really bothers me when people write really long posts and just say the same thing 3 or 4 times in different ways. Not many members here do that, but I know a lot of them on other forums. Anyways, Malte seems to be way above average intelligence. He is the most fluent non-native speaker I've ever known. I'd wager if we did an English exam that we'd be just about even in the scores, which I consider to be very impressive since I consider English to be one of my stronger subjects. I also like the fact that Malte supports LBT only fanfictions. Those are the only kind I really like as well. I don't know Malte as well as I should, but I contribute most of the blame on our geographical locations. When it's 3am here it's like 8pm there or something like that so communicating via MSN is nearly impossible. I do know that like 99% of the world, Malte is not a computer person. It seems that the only common grounds we have is our love for LBT and the fact that we share almost the same moral values. If I ever do start a community like a forum of my own, I know that I'd be lucky if I could get someone like Malte as an admin. People with his quality of character are difficult to find these days......

Sky: I know VERY little about this member, so not much can really be written. I've noticed that he is understanding of other peoples point of views. Art seems to be one of his strong points. God knows I couldn't do what he does. I've also noticed that this member isn't very active except in the art topics (he might also be involved in the gaming or music forums. I don't know. I don't spend any time in those sections). I guess this could be contributed to his work. He doesn't seem to be the most LBT-obsessed person around, but I'm sure he still loves it. I've never personally chatted with this member, so I can't be 100% sure about any more ideas that I have about this person.

Cancerian Tiger: I must say that this member intrigues me. Her username confused me at first until I read her post about it. Your avatar makes you seem even more mysterious. I must admit that I've jumped to some conclusions about you, but I doubt any of them are right. I know you're a big Cera fan. It's nice to have some of them around. I love Cera too. You don't seem to judgmental to me, but like a lot of members here, I haven't spoken to you personally. Honestly, I have over 50 MSN contacts and I hate to keep having to ask people who the heck they are. I am now very selective about who I contact over MSN. You seem to be very outspoken and I must say from what I've seen of your character, I genuinely like you.

Petrie: So it comes to the big cheese. :D I know we didn't start off very good. I was a jerky noob for a while there. I have tried to improve my behavior over the past year and I think I've made some progress. I can see that you are a person who is understanding for the most part and I have never disagreed with your decisions regarding any matter (well, except for the background change. It took me a while to get used to it). You're a good admin and I'm glad you started this site. Overall I can tell you're a guy who lives more offline than online. This is something that's pretty uncommon here from what I've noticed. You seem a lot more grounded and "down to earth" when it comes to most matters. I don't know what it is about you, but you seem to be more mature than any other member I know (no offense intended to our older members. Ya just have too much kid in ya I guess). You have chosen to freeze the world of LBT by not watching any of the newer movies. Although I do not share your opinions about LBT, I do respect them. I can understand why the newer sequels don't appeal to you so much. You seem to just learn what you need and disregard what you don't. This is typically what most people do that aren't in their teens anymore so that's not abnormal. Nothing much bothers you. You're easygoing overall. I think I've seen you get angry once or twice, but I can't really remember too well. I think I know what it is about you. Almost everyone around here acts like they're a teen even when they're not, but you don't. I guess it's because you've actually had to live a life and you've been out there despite not being very old at all. I've honestly never seen any real strong burning passions in you. You seem to dabble in almost everything. You're a difficult guy to explain. I'm probably doing it very badly, but I'm not too good at this sort of stuff. You're not one of those people that has to have more than they need. Ya know, like I want the fastest computer possible and the biggest monitor money can buy, but you seem to just live life and get by with what you need. You were obviously really obsessed with LBT at one time seeing as you have around 7,000 posts. You don't really make topics regarding LBT anymore. I guess you kinda got kicked back in your so called "old age". Okay. That was a dumb thing to say. You're like 23. :p The concluding thoughts I have are that you are very nice and understanding like 99% of the members here and it's nice to be able to get onto your community and talk to decent people for a change. I owe you a lot.

Hey. This forum is really one of the best ones out there in terms of the people here. While everyone is diverse and has their own aspects and opinions and personality, everyone here is united as well, mainly by simply having the same favorite movie:The Land Before Time.
Since I came here, I noticed a lot more going on here than LBT talk. Real-world debates and roleplays and simple small talk made this place a community. Of the many people on the forum, I have to thank the mods and admins for, well, making the place what it is. I don't really want to leave a huge post, so I won't list names. You know who you are.
I came here to post an experimental fanfic and get some more reviews. In addition, however, I bcame part of a commnity that is, if nothing else, a place for like-minded people to come share their ideas and love for a particular movie with others. I speak truthfully when I say this is a rare thing in the world, and I hope it continues for a long, long time.

Truthfully, there isn't much I can say about other members besides what has already been said here. Besides, I don't personally know much about any of the other members, so anything that I do have to say, it isn't much. Anyway, this place is great, and everyone seems to have their part to play to make this forum a great place. That's just about all I can think of saying for now.

I didn't mean to sound harsh Nimrod. I just wanted to let you know that you don't HAVE to worry about what other people may think. That's good that you are concerned for the other person's well being, I do too. However, what I believe is that the only reason why anyone would be offended if their name wasn't listed was because of not their feelings, but ego.
So, let's agree to disagree and go about our lives. :)

I like everybody on the GOF, yet there are only a few members I feel I know better than the others.
Malte: If there is anyone more outspoken than myself(that's a compliment) and knows how to stir up interesting conversations in any topic, it is Malte. He knows how to debate peacefully and speak his mind at the same time. He is also very welcoming of new members. I definitely appreciated him sending the manuscripts of two of his fanfics. They are awesome and I can't ever put them down when I read them. Malte is a member I've really come to enjoy discussing topics with. He's even shed a different light on some of my views, which I very much appreciate.
Rat_Lady7: She is a member I have really grown to like :yes. I at first thought the two of us would end up as quarreling members when I had gotten angry over her feelings about Cera, but I realized I was wrong in discounting her opinion and feel as though we've come a long way since :^.^:. She also starts new topics often, which makes her appear to be an active and enthused member of the GOF.
Landbeforetimelover: He seems to be a really cool guy and does his best to help us out if there is ever a technical problem going on. It helps he knows so much about computers. He will be very successful in his future endeavers :yes. It is also nice to know another die-hard Cera fan exists on the GOF :D. He's a fun guy to have on the GOF and is a member I enjoy conversing with.
Pokeplayer: Another Cera fan :^.^:. He is another active member, and frequently brings up interesting points in topic discussions. He appears to be a sensitive fellow, as evidenced by his dream regarding Ducky under the "LBT Dream" topic(I feel so bad he had to have that dream :cry). I am very sensitive myself, and therefore can relate to Pokeplayer in that sense :yes. He has also started some very good fanfics. If only they would be updated soon :angry:! Nah, I know what writer's block is, and it sucks, so I understand. He is a nice member to have around, and a great fanfiction writer who sticks truly to the LBT series and settings B).
DarkHououmon: Although I have not come to know her very well, she does come up with awesome LBT music vids, and I love the choice of songs she uses. She is also a terrific writer; very descriptive. Her stories make me feel as though I am witnessing and living the stories and not reading them :yes. "Out of the Shadows" is very intricately written. While it is way too sad for me(no criticism intended), that also means it is good 'cuz few stories make me cry :blink:. Hopefully I can get to know DarkHououmon better on the GOF.
Kor: He is just a friendly, good-natured, all-around pleasant guy to have on the GOF. I did not realize his age before, and that amazes me how, despite the generation gap, he shares an interest in LBT and seems to enjoy talking with a bunch of millenials :yes. A very easy-going member here :^.^:.
Mumbling: Look under the definition of the word "sweetheart" in the Webster, and it should rightfully say "Mumbling." She's very sweet, cares for others, and is talented in the arts :yes. Keep it up, Mumbling :^.^:!
NeptuneNavigator2001: He feels like the sibling I never had, like an older brother who shares a lot of views in common with me. He's had his difficulties in life and yet still seems like a very kind young man whose faith has never been shaken. Hang in there, bud ;).

Malte: Kind, friendly, helpfull. Whatelse. I could count so many points, positive points about you mate. You really were a help for me, when I felt down, was in a bad mood, or had to learn for tests. You let me to the forum here, and I really thank you for this. :) You are never mad at someone, well, I didn¥t notice yet. :p And if one need to talk to someone, you are really the right person to talk to. Thank you :yes
Iris: Well, the cute, friendly person, who is almost liked (loved) by everyone :DD You really have the gift to cheer people up, when they feel mad and to see the positive sites in sad, or bad situations. You also were always an open ear, I could talk to. And I thank you very much for that. I¥ll never forget that. :)
Gustav: Well Gustav, what to say. The funny, maybe a bit crazy guy :p I guess we both grew very much together. Think it has to do something with our lifestory, because it¥s very similar. And we have much in common. :) The trip to you showed me, that we really fit to each other, and I thank you, for becoming one of my bestest friends. :yes

To those who replied to my post, I am quite an outspoken person, so know what I said about y'all is very true ;).
There is another member I did not mention in my previous post, and that is Threehorn. He has more connections with Universal and LBT than any other member, and does not hesitate to update us on LBT news :). He is also a terrific writer of fanfiction, and I've enjoyed his fanfics on FF.net thus far :yes. His artwork is also fantastic. He seems like a good sort to have around on the GOF.

There are many members whom I would love to get to know better. Sometimes I regret that lack of time hinders us to get to know each other better outside the GOF.
I want to express special thanks to Cancerian Tiger for reading my story "Old Threehorns" (which nobody else ever read) in absolute record time, telling me about her opinion, and asking me for the end of the story (the story is not completed but I wrote a summary of it after she became the first to read it). Thank you very much, you really encouraged me :yes
Vain as I am (not a sin so long it does not disable a person to be critical about oneself) I am also take great encouragement and pleasure from the praise of members like kjeldo and Shinji-Lee and I thank you for that.
I just love interesting MSN discussions and I have had many with many GOF members. Recently I enjoyed very interesting and philosophical discussions with Vilstrup and Shinji-Lee.
Apart from such personal contacts a member appreciation thread would be incomplete without mentioning the many with whom I have little contact outside the GOF but whose work is doing so much to not just keep the GOF as good as it is but further improve it. Austin landbeforetimelover is really tireless in helping to improve the GOF and little outside GOF contact that we have I really want to thank you for that :yes
This thread is not complete, but I don't want at this time to make the appreciation seem as something casual and not coming from the heard by "listing" too many people in one thread who deserve better than to be "listed". I will post more after the passing of more time.

I, too, regret that due to lack of time am unable to get to know other GOF members better. Otherwise, I'd be chatting with other members like Malte, Landbeforetimelover, NeptuneNavigator2001 and Mumbling, to name some. These members all catch my interest and seem like folks I would like to become better acquainted with. Rat_Lady7 continues to be a member I like on the GOF. As seen in the Party Room, she has really come to show us her humorous side. So has Vaan360, another member who greatly contributes to the GOF.
I'll add more as time permits. Again, I like every member on the GOF, and no favoritism is intended.

There are really only a few members on here that I actually chat with/became friends with. I know I barely ever come here anymore, or post anything :p Well I'll list some of the people I've gotten to know here.
Action9000: Of course I'm gonna add my oh-so-cool older brother :lol Well we've been chatting for a few years now, basically ever since I joined the GoF. He's one of the nicest guys I know, and we've had all kinds of fun times on msn. Honestly he's the best friend I ever had online, and I'm so glad I joined this place, because most likely we would have never met any other way. High-five brotha! :lol:
Darkhouhoumon: While we don't really say much on msn (mostly my fault :p) we've had some great times playing Halo together. She's really easy-going and a fun person to play against :D I hope we can have some more conversations on msn and play more halo B)
Tanner: Another great Halo player that me and Darkhouhoumon have had all kinds of fun with :lol We used to mic chat alot, but not so much anymore. Well hopefully the 3 of us can get together like we used to and pwn up some more Halo. :P:

Well, this will be fun. Of course, all topics here are fun, but this is the first time I can remember ever actually starting off by saying say so. But considering the topic, this post is going to be very long...
Malte279- He is definately the most frequent and thorough responder when it comes to helping me with some of my unusual ideas. Although a lot of people here do it, he has the record. Homosexuality, Misc Hobbies, How Did You Find GOF, Welcoming Center, and so forth. Plus, the first who wanted to chat with me.
Nimrod- He is the second person who asked to chat with me. When I told him I've never been in a chat room before, he sent me specific directions on how to get to one and what to do there as quickly as he could.
Tobe- He took the time to explain forum expressions I didn't understand, and I didn't even have to ask him to tell me. He just did it. Very thoughtful of him. ITT, You Laugh You Lose.
Mumbling- She was very comforting on expressing how she understands my way of speaking, explaining why I don't have to talk differently if I don't want to, but how it's perfectly fine to speak how I wish if I feel the need to. What Does "X Member" Always Say? Also, she noticed that I didn't know how to post links or pictures so she wrote a detailed explanation to show me how and I didn't even have to ask her. Happy Birthday Lillefot.
LettuceBacon&Tomato- He Found and acknowledged to me very common ground we have in what we're studying and (giggle) our punctuality. Nice to know a fellow preson who is interested in my favorite field. Welcoming center. Plus, not counting links or pictures, just an actual post that was written, he made the first one that caused me to start laughing hysterically for minutes. I must say, I love his impression of me. What Does "X Member" Always Say?
landbeforetimelover- He was the first one to quote and agree with an entire post of mine, which is no easy feat considering their length. People have agreed with parts of my posts, but now someone else and I have been completely on the level with our thoughts and having unity of mind is a very pleasent experience. It feels good to write a post where none of the words were wasted. He made that post feel very special to me. What Do You Dislike Most About The Land Before Time?
brekclub85: After all the forums I've been on in my life, I got my very first personal message ever from anyone after coming here, from him. I actually have it saved in my desktop as the first PM of my life. But it doesn't stop there. I have been here not quite two weeks, but as of the time I'm writing this post, I already have exactly 20 all very friendly PMs from him here, all saved away. I have gotten other PMs and saved them too, but he holds the record by far. But since addictions are a bad thing, I have something to complain about here as well. Due to his ideas and writing style, I am a Sharptooth Valleyaholic and can't end a day without indulging myself with it in some way. Some writers have no respect for what their stories will do to other people's lives. The nerve...
The Chronicler- I had a question which he not only answered quickly and completely, but gave me a link if I had any more questions on the matter. I didn't ask him for it. He was just nice enough to post it for me. Bionicle, the Lego Sets and the Story.
Drake- I misunderstood the character battles rules and didn't give real characters from an actual show like I was supposed to. I created generic ones that were very vague. He could have told me, "Follow the rules if you want a battle of yours done here." But being very polite, he did not complain to me at all and simply took it upon himself to make sure it was answered. And I must say, I really liked his logical response. (Not that I need to say it this time but) Character Battles.
Don't worry though. There are lots more people here that I have to thank for doing something kind to me. But this post is already so huge that I'll have to write more on another post some other time. I notice EVERYTHING EVERYONE does nice to me here, except for a few things. (Man, it's so fun pretending to be an oxymoron. I think I'll do it more often. (Everyone reading says, "Just when we thought TFS couldn't make this forum any more unprofessional, he decides to be an-")). Don't worry. As it's common for me, I wasn't being serious with my closing at all. *The Friendly Sharptooth- I'll say that I have liked this member from the time he joined the GOF. He does not hesitate to make his voice heard, his posts are informative and interesting to read, he always has something to contribute to a discussion, and he seems to be very good-natured. I have never seen him get ugly with another member, and he does not appear to hold grudges.
*Brekclub85- I have seen this member in the Party Room more often and have come to appreciate him. I like it when folks have a good sense of humor :yes.
*Lillefot- He's another member who is good-natured, funny and fun to have around. He's also quite adventurous, something we both share in common.

You are very welcome. By now, I've had more time to gather my thoughts and therefore have more to say here. Some of these things apply to a lot of you, but I thank the ones who in my opinion seem the most strongly oriented to it:
Kor- He always seems to be positve toward what I or anybody else writes. He's always really nice about it when he disagrees too. I doubt he sits there, staring at a post of mine or anyone else's he wants to respond to, then has to think for an hour to fabricate some nice thing to say he doesn't really mean. There is just something about his posts that have a strong, genuine feeling. He really puts himself into what he writes so he can be real to us and still be comforting when we're wrong.
Noname- It was great working with him on a topic that only the two of us saw eye to eye on. I liked how everyone was supportive of me there, but he was one who supportive of my view. He was so diligent to show there whenever it was just him, and when I came too, he backed up my beliefs and I supported him back. Team work like that is always a wonderful pleasure to experience. It was nice how everyone there was nice, so it wasn't like we were on a team against everyone else, but it was exciting being with him when out of over a dozen people, everyone agreed on one thing, and the two of us had to express ourselves to a congregation. He showed to be very strong to disagree every day with twenty people because his beliefs were just that impotant to him. "Homosexuality."
Cancerian Tiger- Our views are one when it comes to stand up for what we view is right when people everywhere try to make fun of us. We both have the same "People can say what they want about TLBT but I'm still not going to hide the fact that I like it because it's right and it's who I am." She actually expressed her agreement with me, while I unfortunately have failed to do so until now. I like it when people aren't ashamed of what others opinions about them are. That is all they are: their personal opinions. The Land Before Time is stupid- that is an opinion. Something that cannot be proven with scientific methods is false without any evidence. The two of us know that words can hurt. But opinions are just pure feelings in the form of words. How strange does it sound to say, "I feel so horrible. The way that that guy feels inside of him is really bothering me." The two of us will listen to opinions, but be swayed by the truth. "Honesty." "Ever Been Teased?"
Explorer- He said words to me that I almost never hear, about once every six years on average are such words ever directed at me. "I admire you." Why? Because there is very little if anything, for people to admire about me that someone else isn't ten time better in. He remarked at how he believes I'm very good at what I do. In my life, two or maybe three school teachers have complimented me with the combination of those two phrases. It felt so real to have someone say it who isn't paid to say nice things to everyone. It made my night to hear those words authentically spoken to me. "Super Smash Bros. All"
pokeplayer984- I must say, I have never gotten a more thorough, detailed, and lengthy answer to a question on a post before. I'm still going, "Wow!" He took all that time to asnwer every single part of my question entirely. That was such an amazing answer that he must have skipped dinned to write it all. I didn't think a question about gaming would be taken with such priorty. He even said other things just to make sure that I was aware of them. Boy, did I feel special there. Sometimes who takes all questions with such significance and fully applies to the best answer possible, well, he deserves a free Pokemon Platinum Version. Yes, he impressed me THAT much. Well, I'ver got a few people to give my thanks to
Petrie- he was one of the people who first introduced me to this board. As someone who I've 'worked" with now for 3+ plus, I can say with confidence that Petrie is a great guy, and frankly without his contributions, we wouldn't HAVe this board and I wouldn't be posting this.
malte_ malte has always been game on the various trivia threads I've put up in the 'brain Food section. While those have since gone quiet for the most part. It is interesting togo back there sometimes and look at all the historical ground we have covered. You're a good friend Malte, and you know your history. Hopefully, someday I can travel to Dortmund , and we can meet face to face at last.
threehorn- Threehorn has partnered with me on many of my roleplays, and as someone I've come to know through those roleplays, he has a very vivid imagination, and I've enjoying bouncing thoughts and plotlines back and forth over the various pages. One of our stories went on for 300 full pages!
Avesthe Forum Foz\x- Aves is probably singlehandily responsible for reviving my interest in roleplaying. I had started to draw away from roleplaying, when Aves joined the site, and set to work with the energy and passion of a dynamo. one could not help but be drawn by his personality, his interesting characters, and his ever acerbic wit.
Kor- kor is someone who I've enjoyed conversing with over his time here. he's one of the newer- relatively- posters I'm listing in my -brief comments here. he always has something interesting to say, and I always look forward to what he has to contribute.
The FriendlySharptooth- Sharptooth has a unique take on many topics, and I use "unique ' in best meaning possible. He always has something intresting to say, if it is something vivid and extremely descriptive, so much the better for this reader. Keep up the good work Sharptooth.
Mirumoto- kenji- Kenji is one of few 'welcome to the Great Valley refugees here on the board -threehorn is the other. kenji is one of my friends, and always seems to enjoy his roleplays. that is one thing we have in common.

Fun, fun, fun! More thanks to give my mudbrothers (and mudsisters)! Although some of these things apply to many of you, here are the people that I noticed the most in certain areas:
Nick22: He has given me new hopes and opportunities here. His friendliness to me can be measured by how much he encourages me not to worry about things and his enthusiasm to invite me into his activities, in which case he is quite a friend indeed. He doesn't see me and guess what kind of person I am. He takes time to understand what I am like on the inside so that he does not need to speculate on my character.
Rat_lady7: My writing style has never been so well complimented! Even my family has expressed their distaste for my writing style, but she expressed that she really likes it and also took the time to explain exactly why she likes it, even to the point of saying that she sees no immaturity in it at all, unlike some other people I know. Such enouragement makes writing all the more pleasent for me. "Show Us Pictures of Yourself"
RFZT: She may be new here right now, but that hasn't stopped her from engaging in the most pleasant of conversations with me. We have been happily chatting back and forth much to my delight, especially since we see things about the LBT so similarly. She has a pleasant way of speaking and makes her words so interesting to read at the same time. She doesn't know it at the time that I'm writing this, but after a recent conversation with her, and after I gave it much thought, I was finally able to decide who my favorite LBT villian is. Thanks for your help!
Nimrod: Wow. Such diligence. He has been so determined to establish an online connection between us for quite some time, but some unknown difficulty has been preventing it. He has been trying this for such a long time without giving up or even slowing down, and he also keeps trying new methods to make this work out. I'm flattered. No one has ever tried this long just to chat with me.
DarkHououmon: I'm sure that she must be very busy with various things, but even so, she did not hesitate to show me kindness and agree to draw some pictures that I asked her for for a project that I'm working on. This wasn't like a half ditch effort just to satisfy some fan of hers petty request; I saw her usual amazing quality that she always puts into the drawings that she posts here, showing just how much she really cares about and respects what other people like too. "Fanart for Sharptooth Valley"
Chomper4: It's nice to meet people who aren't shy at all. Those who can enter a new place filled with new people and instantly feel comfortable enough to dive right into conversations and ask questions. And so many questions for assisstance show that he has a lot of humility. Some people aren't too keen on the whole "getting help from others" thing, but he hasn't had any hesitance at all to show when and how he would like some help from other people. I am the exact same way with people, so it's great to meet someone that I share so much in common with.

Due to situations out of my control, I'm going to have to leave this board, and I doubt I'll have an opportunity to come back. This saddens me, since I've really felt like I've been accepted as a member of the community, and as my last word I want to thank everyone who I've gotten to know a little better.
Serris: What can I say? You have easily become my favorite user on this board, especially with your awesome RP, Darwin’s Soldiers. I’m just glad I got to finish the first one, but it seems I won’t be around for the next one. Could you find some way to justify Shelton’s disappearance? Maybe whoever’s in charge transferred him out of the country to get him out of the way. You also did me a great honor by (I’m assuming) basing Dr. Keith Bailey of Furtopia on my character. Hey, this might gave you the chance to introduce Bailey to this canon. I don’t know. Just trust me when I say DS2 will be the one thing I miss the most. You should be proud: the RP you created is one of only 14 that ever reached its ending.
f-22: Of the other RP’ers beside me and Serris, you were easily the one who stayed with the RP the longest and kept the story going, not to mention the only person who played a terrorist. You were also very patient with me the few times I got things you did or said wrong. Thanks for that. Outside of DS, I’ve enjoyed reading your arguments and other things in the Midnight section. That includes your Star Wars vs. Star Trek thread!
Starfall: Your characters in DS were easily the most dynamic, as you as a writer are excellent at throwing curveballs I didn’t see coming, such as Kagetora’s “death,” and Cale’s heel face turn. Your ending post in the RP was the best ending to the whole thing I could imagine, and all in all I hope you stay with the sequel, because you really added something to the RP. Glad I got to know you a little better.
Mirumoto: While you unfortunately missed both the beginning and the end of the RP, your additions were invaluable assets. I was disappointed when Snow and Neku’s relationship was never established, maybe something for the sequel? All in all, if you read this, know that DS wouldn’t have been the same without you.
Nick22: Not to mention through having the most posts of any GOF user, you’ve also shown through many RP’s in the past to be a loyal member and great RPer, and I’m sad that I won’t get to RP with you in the DS sequel. Your “grammar trivia” Brain game was also great fun while it lasted as well. Congratulations on entering the canon of Darwin’s soldiers, and know you’re in great company!
Lbt-cty lover: It was a bummer when you had to leave the RP due to physics homework. I struggled through the same class in high school, and hope things turned out well. We kept Siberys alive and in the action, if you want him back for the sequel : ) Also, your “Geography Game” is my favorite game in the party section, and I’m glad I got to influence the rules (ëon earth!!!’). Keep it up!
Landbeforetimelover: Obviously the first thing that came to mind was when you helped me save my computer from a deadly virus, and replace Norton with AVG. I will never be able to repay you for that, nor for the time you improved my avatar to the quality it is now. You’ve gone beyond most users by actually providing tangible assistance with technical issues, which is great. You also show you’re willing to accept outside recommendations in your own projects, for example, obliging when I suggested the URL should go on the Gang of Five banner. I’m sure I speak for many people when I say thank you.
Malte: You were the first user I developed a liking to, due to your profound arguments and debate points, not to mention your obviously good oratory skills. Several times, I’d be reading an archived debate and find that your opinion actually swayed me to your side, something people can rarely do when talking to me face to face. It’s been a pleasure reading your insights, and trading posts with you in the various Brain Food games. You were also the admin that first helped me to getting my thread “Top Ten characters of All Time” stickied. Thank you.
Kor: One of the first users I got to know, you’ve shown extreme kindness even when disagreeing with another user. You also showed extreme loyalty not only to the Gang of Five, but to my Wiki too, which wouldn’t have half the pictures and content it does if it weren’t for you. I think you’re also now the most prolific non-member on the Gang of Five, in regard to posts. Congratulations.
Adam/Petrie: You’ve shown a lot of thought in bringing together this forum, and time and again you show remarkable skill in setting parameters for users that maintain the amiable atmosphere of the forum while not being too strict. This is the first and probably only forum I will ever join, since I doubt there are many founders who thought it through as well as you did. You also agreed to let my Land Before Time Wiki become an affiliate of the Gang of Five and visa versa, which was another highlight of my time on this board. Again, thank you.
action: Your RPG is easily the most ambitious undertaking in the history of LBT fandom, and you’ve shown great perseverance in continuing with the project despite a lack of programming assistance. You’ve also been very open in accepting what assistance others can give you, even crediting me as a test player without me asking! That moment was one of my favorite on this forum, thank you so much, and I truly hope your RP sees itself to fruition.
Chronicler: We’ve had some spats in the past, but the fact that you were willing to forgive me so easily shows a lot about your moral character. I think you’re probably the only user who likes the Geography Game more than I do, and for many pages you have every other post. After I’m gone keep up the game!
Mumbling: Not only do we share the same favorite character, I’ve seen you go out of your way several times to show friendliness to other users, something many people have thanked you for, but I wanted to join the ranks. I regret that I never got to know you very well otherwise.
Rat Lady: Several times on this forum, you’ve hinted that you are suffering from depression in the real world. I genuinely hope that things improve, since someone like you deserves more. You’re extremely friendly, and are very good at starting discussions that kindle interest and result in memorable ideas. You also forgave me when a joke I made offended you, something which I’m sorry for. And, of course, you came up with the very thread I’m posting in now. Thanks!
Great Valley Guardian: The OC guy! Other than Kor, you’ve probably the second most of any GOF member for the wiki, especially in improving (alright, creating) the OC section, and updating it with OC’s from various RPs and fanfics. Keep on RP’ing!
pokeplayer: My biggest thanks, of course, was because you were the reason I found the Gang of Five! Your Youtube videos have revived countless fans, including myself, and I wouldn’t be thanking any one on this list if it weren’t for you. You’ve also showed an interest in helping others with technical issues by posting lists of known viruses and advising me in how to deal with the aftermath if my own virus. I’m glad you’re slowly but surely being allowed to repost your videos, and I hope that this time, they’re there to stay.
tobeysan: While you aren’t around any more, I recall your “motivational” posters you liked to add, and found them humorous, especially the James T. Kirk one you posted in the 1988 section. You showed a very comedic side on the forum, and never passed up the opportunity to lighten up a situation. You also share a birthday with me and Dark Pterano, making us the first triple birthday on the Gang of Five! Woo!
Vaan: A penultimate mention of a user who hasn’t been on since January, but he wrote one of the (short-lived) fanfics I actually read. He also shares my love for WALL-E, still my favorite Disney movie, and was always spottable in a crowd due to his red bold font! Way to be unique!
Friendly Sharptooth: First off, you’ve got larger posts than any user I’ve ever seen on here, which shows your extreme work ethic, and your boundless enthusiasm. Seriously, before it gets too tedious, you should go though and collect all the insights, essays, and poetry you’ve written here, and publish it as a philosophical treatise called “On Mind, Online”. You’ve also shown great flexibility in accepting opinions that differ from you, as well as much carefulness in making sure you do not insult another user. You definitely have a unique personality, and I’m glad I got to experience it.
jedi42: The writer of the first (and my favorite) LBT fanfic on this forum, I also enjoyed seeing you around the forum. I remember you of all the users seemed to dwell in the same threads and topics as I do, including f-22's Star Wars thread. You're really an awesome writer, and it's awesome that we share so much in common. May the Force be with you!

It has been a while since I last posted in this really important thread.
I want to thank Kacie / DarkHououmont for our many chats and for providing me with the Dink movies which are absolutely unavailable over here but of great interest to LBT fans (I'm really amazed how obviously some of them served as an inspiration (no ripping of though) for some of the LBT sequels).
There are two members whom I really appreciate a lot for the really interesting chats I'm having with them and for the no less interesting messages the post at the GOF. Both have not been around much on the GOF recently and I woefully miss both The Friendly Sharptooth and Saft, but I'm looking forward to see them again here.
Last but far from least I want to thank one of our newer members, Pangea, who also wrote some really interesting posts here on the GOF. Moreover he has become the second to ever read my unfinished and longwinded story Old Threehorns and provided me with some really helpful feedback not just on this story but on my older story the Cold Time as well.

I would like to update this again.
I'd like to give some appreciation for these two members that once I was uneasy with,(even to the point of being scared) now both have a special place in my heart.
Malte:, I just want to thank you for trying to understand my view and where I was coming from. I'm glad we are able to talk about certain things. Though sometimes I understand your POV and you may not understand mine, but our discussions are still interesting. :) I sometimes don't understand what he is saying because to me, his way of writing is a bit to "wordy", but I guess I was getting a taste of what people sometimes think of my writing too. Malte, you have become a close friend of mine and he seems to be a very energetic, very positive, and very confident. :)
Petrie: Basically I'm going to say the same thing I said about Malte. We haven't spoken very much, my fault mostly, but our last talk I thought both of our opinions came through and both of our sides were heard. He tries to be calm, but I can see when he seems tired or frustrated with the other person. To me it's just easy to tell.
We have our differences definitely, but I think we are similar too. I remember him saying that he saw himself when he was younger in me. I remember talking to him on a pm awhile ago and I understand his point of view a bit more. I also give him kudos for hanging in there with the adolescents at his job. I'm very pleased to hear we have reached this stage. :) I know my no-nonsense, don't-get-on-my-bad-side attitude hasn't sat well with you in many cases, but I can see that you're more comfortable with it due to the fact it keeps a lot of crap out of this board, and you really do enjoy it here because of the atmosphere. Like I said, its good to know that we can casually chat without friction. :)

I kinda burned myself out in the last appreciation post I made, but some of them need to be expanded. Consider these additions to the previously -written thank yous.
First of all, a big thanks to everyone for accepting me back instantly. I don't feel like I ever left, more like I was on hiatus and welcome to return whenever I wanted to.
Second of all, to jedi472, for deserving to be on the last appreciation post, but I forgot to add him. I've already apologized for this, but you deserved top mention this time.
Serris, thanks for jumping me back into the DS sequel, no questions asked. It felt like I was really part of the team, both in-universe and out.
To Serris, Starfall, Cautizer, and f-22, thanks for reading my Darwin's Soldiers expansion stories. Having a target audience of about five users, these stories could easily have faded into obscurity, but you kept reading and critiquing them, motivating me to finish them regardless.
I don't know if anyone else is reading my stories, but if you are, thank you, and I'd love to know that you are!
Rat_Lady: for coming up with the "Ask Me" idea, which half the GOF has since emulated. It gives us a unique opportunity to learn about each other in a way PMs and non-user specific threads couldn't do. Great idea!
Mumbling: Of all the users I thanked a few months ago, Iris is the one I think I've gotten to know the most compared to my April self (not sure if I made that clear. I didn't know her well in April, know her better now.) On the RPG, you've started devoting almost as much time as Tim, and are doing a great job organizing non-coding stuff, like a website and multiplayer times. In addition, I finally found out why you're considered the most helpful member of the GOF when you offered to find for me an obscure computer game soundtrack. I'm not sure if I would even be willing to spend all that time for somebody I didn't know.
This is a god lead in to action, aka Tim, who's keeping this RPG going much longer and farther than, to be honest, I thought it would go. Great job, and we're all behind you!
Mumbling's post actually leads in well to landbeforetimelover and Alex, too. Both of you also helped me find a way to get my soundtrack as well, and I see both of you giving advice to other users all over the GOF. landbeforetimelover, you're still an extremely helpful user who's done more for me in the real world than any other. Yes, this is the purpose we'd hoped to share when creating the section. However, most things will not (at least I don't believe so) be decided that quickly. There was an immediate need, and it wasn't severly altering the board in any way. Most things will likely require a lot more approval from other staff (who all took a vacation...at once :rolleyes :lol ).

I appreciate Metadude, Chiletrek, Belmont, and all those who are in the second RP. In a short time, most of them have gone from beginners to veterans, and we've had a lot of fun together.
P.S. I know that favoritism isn't intended, but a thread like this could be easily abused. Just an observation.

Specially I want to mention Sky for his inspiring artwork. When I first joined the GoF I found that nothing effected me more then his extensive art files. I couldn't believe that the character he drew in such detail - Sky - did not have an equally epic story behind him to back it up, so I decided to do my own.

Perhaps the member most worthy of my thanks though is Pangaea. Through the entire summer he always came online and reviewed my story Rise of Storm Tide, handing out both praise and critizism, things an author desires, and making the somewhat questionable expendature of my time worth while.
I raise my glass, for without him Rise of Storm Tide would never have been finished.
I also thank him for continuing his support of my authouring and reviewing Far Away Home.

I am long overdue for posting in this thread. I find it difficult to translate my emotions into words, and for that reason expressing gratitude (and specifically why I am grateful) presents a challenge for me. But I feel it is extremely important to give credit where it is due, and sincerely hope that my efforts to do so here successfully convey at least a fragment of the level of appreciation I have for the constituent citizens of the community that has become such a significant part of my life in the last three months.
I feel I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has so much as bothered to speak to me on this forum. Becoming an active member of the GOF was probably the biggest social step I have ever taken, and I first introduced myself, I had considerable doubts over whether I would fit in or feel comfortable posting. The unexpectedly immense number of friendly welcomes I received downright steamrolled those concerns, and my subsequent interactions with other members on this forum has made this one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. If you have responded to a post of mine, asked me a question in my personal “Ask Me” thread, or contacted me via PM of your own volition, consider yourself included in this post. ;)
There are, of course, a number of members to whom I owe particular thanks, and feel obligated to mention by name:
Malte279: For sending me what he has written so far of his (awesome) LBT story “Old Threehorns”, as well as for the appreciation he indicated (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=3676&view=findpost&p=9119292) for the comments and feedback I have given him on his fanfictions. Furthermore, I am enormously thankful for her allowing me to participate in her RP “In the Land Before Time”, in spite of my late and impromptu arrival, and my previous doubts that I would ever post in an RP at all. Reason enough, I felt, to warrant specific mention.
Caustizer: Another author of an excellent LBT fanfic (“Rise of Storm Tide”) on which I have left extensive feedback (as I continue to do on his new story: “Far Away Home”). Given his prominent mention of me in his recent post in this thread, it was the least I could do to return the gesture. ;)
Oh, and this also happens to be my 400th post. But I assure you all that I never would have gotten this far (not in three months, anyway) without all of your help. :)

Malte, I feel we have gotten closer to the point where I believe that we ARE friends. I still REALLY want to keep having philosophical discussions with him and he just seems to be a very interesting and loving individual. So thank you Malte for those few emails. :) He's VERY funny also, but you have to really read and pay attention to understand his jokes. :D
I want to thank Darkhououmon for sending me a link to this forum back in the year 2006, though I didn't join at that time. I want to thank her for still sending me a few things and trying to keep a friendship with me, which I am honored that she still does.

landbeforetimelover-We seem to butt heads quite a bit and he definitely has made me mad many times. However, I want to thank him for his honesty about anything, (though it can get REALLY brutal, of course, I'm one talk. :lol) his mad computer skizlles(:lol), which made this forum have a nice sleek look. :)
Nick22, I want to thank you for that pm back when I felt like leaving here. You encouraged me as well as everyone else that sent me pms or posted in the "I'm Leaving" topic. I unfortunately don't talk to this admin as I would like to, but I would like to. :)
Last but not least, Cancerian Tiger, or Anna, she really has become the big sister that I have come to love. She has encouraged me greatly through the months and I love her funny, honest, sensitive, and sometimes wacky input about certain things. Her humor is VERY funny and maybe a bit out there, but heck, I love that type of humor. :lol Keep laughing CT, because you sure make me laugh. :D

*Nimrod: I appreciate your friendliness and our PM discussions. It's always nice to get to know members more, which brings me to my next name to mention...
*Petrie: Thanks for being a great boss, for creating The Rock Circle, and for creating the Ask Me section. The Rock Circle allows members to have more say in the decisions made regarding the GOF, and the Ask Me section enables us to be able to get to know each other better without littering our inboxes.
Again, I appreciate all of our members, and more names will be mentioned as time goes on. Y'all are very friendly, and I look forward to coming here at the end of the day and whenever I time during the day.

Thanks, Rat_Lady. :) You've added a lot to the GOF, some of my favorite places here (Ask Me section, several Party games, Tim's RPG, this thread) were either created or revived by you. I remember one time you said you were worried about how often you revive dead topics. Well, don't worry! Many of them have continued to thrive since!
Cancerian Tiger, I haven't gotten to know you very well, but I do know that you've made many valuable posts to sections, and help out all over the forum. It's good you're around!

I do indeed need to show my appreciation for Petrie...he called for a third moderator in the RP section, and after a few days of consideration he chose me, and for that I am still eternally grateful. And for giving me a chance to watch over the one section I enjoy most.
I also would like to to extend my welcome to Cancerian Tiger to the world of RPing, and as it turns out she is a natural! Again Anna welcome to the RP section and I hope you have a wonderful time.

GVG reminded me to say a few words about Petrie, so I give my appreciation to GVG.
I now want to give my appreciation to Petrie. I'm not exactly sure how to say what I appreciate, but I'll try. I think he's a good leader of the forum, and does a good job keeping it what it should be, you know, friendly, fun, active, appropriate, and such and such. And even though he can pull all that off, which can sometimes involve shutting down people's topic, and asking people to stop talking, and stuff like that which sometimes may make a member mad, he still comes off as a cool guy.
Overall, I think you just do a great job running the forum, and have made a great community here. When I first joined a couple months back, I wouldn't have thought it would be such a nice place to chill.
And I know he doesn't do it alone, so I also want to thank all the admins and mods on the GOF, for making the GOF so awesome.
And all the members. I wanna thank everyone for warmly lettin' me be apart of the forum.

You've offered some really good ideas via PM that I've ultimately included in the stories, and your constant permission to use your characters in major roles have yielded major benefits both for Werner and Hans, and for me. :)
Thanks also to everyone Serris already named, for allowing me to use your characters in my stories. It's because of your well-crafted personalities and back stories that they're so fun to incorporate into my work.

There are some people I need to really thank right now. If you have read my topic in the After Midnight forum, then you will know that I was having major problems with my roommate. They went on for about two weeks to the point where I was about to leave the room. Fortunately, he apologized to me and now things are going much more smoothly than before. I am very happy things are going well, but I probably would have been more depressed than I was if the people who gave me some advice and their support hadn't done so. So to Cancerain Tiger, Rat Lady, Mumbling, Littlefoot1616, Noname, Petrie, Alex, NewOrder, DualXz, Serris, and Malte, thank you guys so very much for all you have done for me. I can't thank you enough for the love and support you have all shown me through these past couple days. I really appreciate all the kind words from all of you and feel so blessed you were all there for me.

I also must thank DarkHououmon, and hopefully Kacie reads this because this is important. So I was super excited when I finished my video for Chomper, but then it hit me that I would have to find a place other than Youtube to post the video because Linkin Park was not allowed on Youtube. So of course, I post that I am unable to find a place to put my video up, and Kacie was there to offer plenty of suggestions for places. Sure I came back every single time complaining that it wouldn't work, but Kacie was so incredibly patient it blew my mind. I kept thinking every time I posted she was going to yell at me or say something like, "I'm tired of your whining. Figure it out yourself". Thank god she didn't do that, and I am so grateful she stuck with me, so thank you very much. I will admit this too, but after watching all the videos you have made, I must say that you are the person who inspired me to start making my music videos, despite most of them being taken down and now I'm left with only 5 lol. Anyway, your videos are made with so much care and detail that I am amazed everytime I watch them. Of course being in college now I don't have as much time as I used to, but I do plan on continuing with making more videos, and I hope one day they will be as good as yours. So thanks for being my inspiration and please don't stop being good at making videos :D

Recently jedi472 has shown great sensibility and composure in a situation that was a very typical "escalation" situation where things could have really gone down the drain. I really feel that he deserves great credit for showing more self-control and perhaps stoicism than many of us. Hats of to you for that one jedi472 :)
Anna Cancerian Tiger really commands my respect for being deeply religious but never imposing her believes on anyone. It is probably not much of a surprise that recent posts of religious conflict have sparked some discussion in the staff room and I think it altogether fitting your you to know that you have often been cited as a shining example how one can believe and also express this believe without imposing it on anyone :)
I just love the picking up of discussion in the land before time sections and though I am not as active in them these days (having a lot on my mind to deal with) as I would like to I want to express my appreciation for all those who are particularly involved with the picking up of activity. Especially Almaron, Pangea, Serris, and DarkWolf91 (lovely art!) :yes

I would like to issue a thanks and an apology to Noname. When I saw you had replied to Alex in his goodbye post, I thought you were taking the opportunity to remind him of his bad behavior or reinforce your own position.
But then I read your post, and it was an honest and sincere wish that he return. It even conceded that you yourself have made mistakes.

I admit that I sometimes spend too much time arguing over stupid points on the internet... and sometimes attach too much importance to an issue that I would never argue about in a face-to-face conversation... no matter who started it, I shouldn't have let it continue. And thanks for being the second one to issue an apology to me over that silly issue. Within a week or two, it will be forgotten, I believe.
This really made my day, LBT, so thank you VERY much.

I want to send another appreciation to Petrie. A couple of weeks ago, a pretentious user was kind of harassing me over PM's here, looking to steal my Youtube account that I hadn't updated for a long time. I knew immediately who this kid was but I didn't know who to turn to. Petrie was there to listen to my worries and assured me that he was doing everything in his power to try and minimize the harassment this kid was doing to everybody. So I want to say thank you Petrie for being so devoted to keeping the users of this board safe from hackers and kids who wanted full high quality copies of the LBT movies.
Two more that I want to thank even though I already kind of thanked them in the last post but I feel like mentioning them now. I'm doing them both for the same reason. Cancerian Tiger and Rat Lady. This kind of branches off of the reason I thanked them in my last post. When I was having issues with my room mate they were always here to give their support. I'm not the only person to have received such kindness on GOF. These two must be some of the nicest people I have ever had the chance of talking with on an internet board, even nicer than the people I know in real life. I just wanted to say thank you to both of you for your unconditional kindness and support not just for me but for everybody else on the board.

A big mention to GreatValleyGuardian for a truly amazing depiction of my OC Zaine. You guys probably remember, or maybe you don't, but when the 2009 GOF Awards were in session I was very upset that I didn't receive an award or many nominations for that matter because I felt that despite all I did (RP's, Fanfic, Singing...) I wasn't appreciated enough and not getting the recognition I thought I deserved. Of course, I realized the error of my judgment quickly before I could make too much of an impression on the rest of the board. I never expected anybody to do anything and dedicate it to me and I was fine with that. When I first saw GVG's drawing of Zaine, I was stunned. Not only had somebody taken their time to draw my character, but they made him perfect to every detail. At that moment, I felt blessed to know somebody who would do something like that for me, and even if he didn't intend for that in the first place. I know I've said it before but I will say it again, GVG thank you so much for that drawing. I couldn't have asked for a better depiction of Zaine, and I know I probably couldn't have drawn a better one myself.

It’s been entirely too long since I’ve posted in this thread. I admit that I am shy about doing so, due to the awkwardness I feel when expressing appreciation, and the concern that I am not giving everyone their proper dues (thoughóin keeping with the purpose of this threadóI intend nothing remotely resembling favoritism). At the same time, however, I feel an obligation to reciprocate the gratitude expressed by others toward me, and I definitely feel that I am deeply indebted to everyone on the GOF. So I decided that there was no better way to commemorate my 1,000th post than by thanking the members on this forum who have made me feel welcome, comfortable, accepted, and useful here.
Cancerian Tiger: This is an individual I have immense admiration for, particularly for her confidence and her habit of straightforwardly speaking her mind (something I am chronically shy about). In addition to being terrifically fun to RP with, I feel that she does much to brighten the GOF. I have to say that have become quite attached to her, despite having not spoken to her directly that much. I also suspect she may be at least partly responsible for instilling a fondness for Cera in me. :p
Rat_lady7: Another member with many qualities I admire. Among these is her initiative in starting new topics, including this one, “Dinosonas”, “What are you thinking about?”, “How are you feeling?”, and, of course, “Ask me anything”, the thread that became a trend. Furthermore, there is her RP, “In The Land Before Time”, which I have enjoyed so much that more than a tenth of my current posts are located there. I greatly enjoy conversing and RPing with her, and consider her to be another member that the GOF just wouldn’t be the same without.
Caustizer: This member continually astounds me with his skill and prolificacy at story writing. But what really justifies his inclusion here is the fact that he repeatedly comes to me for ideas and feedback, and the credence he gives me for my (as far as I consider it) humble service.
Darkhououmon: On top of being an outstanding artist and writer, Kacie provides some very insightful and intellectually stimulating perspectives on certain topics, in a manner that is objective and straightforward yet also considerate. Not to mention that she has been engaging me in fascinating and fulfilling PM discussions since the beginning of my participation on this forum.
Malte279: Another individual on this forum whom I greatly look up to. An astonishing writer who time and again amazes and inspires me with the analyticity, practicality, and thoroughness of his posts. While my direct conversations with him so far have been limited, I have enjoyed them greatly as well.
Nimrod: I regret that I do not know Patrick very well, but he strikes me as a very friendly person who I would like to converse with more often. He was one of the first to contact me by PM when I openly joined the GOF, with a very warm and polite greeting that immediately made me feel welcome.
Saft: Another very kind member who contacted me early on, whom I have since spoken with again on a few occasions, but not enough to really know that well. As a fellow Aspie, Saft immediately understood my insecurities regarding social situations, and despite the brevity of our initial chat, I think she did a lot to help me feel comfortable here.
The Friendly Sharptooth: I have only recently had an opportunity to chat with this member, and it proved to be every bit the enjoyable experience I hoped it would be. He truly lives up to his username (well, the first part of it, anyway :p), and I daresay that his concern about being polite and non-bothersome to other members exceeds my own. :lol While his activity on the forum is sporadic, I hope that we will have more chances to converse in the future.
Almaron: This member does not seem to have been very active lately, which is a shame, because he has been responsible for some extremely interesting and thought-provoking posts. I have tremendously enjoyed my discussions with him in the “An Attempted Map Of The Lands (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=6404)” thread. Almaron also deserves credit for initiating the thread that led to the creation of the LBT Glossary (which, as you know, I am in charge of).
Finally, I’d like to put in a few words for Pikkutassu. This member informed the GOF that he owned a video recording of the original The Land Before Time that included scenes that had been cut from most releases. He went to a lot of effort to share this material with the rest of us, and when it turned out that, sadly, the recording had been lost, he promptly told us so. (In my view, that was very brave of him, to be the bearer of such severely disappointing news, after getting so many members’ hopes up that he would come forward with the lost footage.) And after that, he contacted the TV stations that had originally broadcast the footage, in the hopes that they could do so again. And even though we did not (or if we do not) get to see the missing scenes, we now know, thanks to Pikkutassu, that they were not all discarded before the film’s release, as we previously believed. Whether the scenes still exist somewhere, we don’t know, but now we at least have hope that they do.

I want to thank everyone here for their kindness and patience. Seriously, you guys are great. I know I'm not really much of a contributor to the site, but you guys still act like I'm part of the group, which is awesome, because this is a cool group to be in. I haven't really been on the past few months, but I'm going to change that and return as a GOF regular, like I used to be. You guys have given a lot to this community, and I'm going to try to pull my weight, too.
I'd also like to apologize to Serris, The Chronicler, LettuceBacon&Tomato, and anyone else who's helped with my fanfic over the last year or so. You guys are such a great help, and I feel like I've screwed you over a bit by not continuing the story. Rest assured, that will not be the case for long.

Just because of that I want to thank you for everything, and that you showed me your great country sweden and the country that lies next to it: Norway :p I never has been to this countries before and it¥s just awesome to be together with you and have fun with. Malte: Almost the same like Gustav. First I have been a bit scared about this guy, because of his looong posts about history and his detailed explanations :p But after some time, I really started to like it and I also started to like history alot more than I did before I met him. The meetings we had together has been really awesome. And thank you a thousend to show me your town and being a good friend I can talk with when I need it :)
Iris: This girl. I just say wow :blink: . Even if we don¥t chat that often as we did before, you still amaze me with your kindness for everyone here. You are also a person I can talk very freely to and about everything I want to. Thanks for being there for me in hard times, when I need it and for helping me with my troubles :)
Darkhououmon: Is that written right? Anyway, this girl (woman), will always be a mystery to me. But a mystery that amazes me alot. Gotta pay my respects to all those who have shown interest and have been backing me whilst I make PAINFULLY slow progress on my fanfiction BOSE II: Corruption's Curse. Jedi472, Serris, Pangaea, LBTFan13 & Cancerian Tiger amongst others have all given my fics nothing but praise and I've gotta say, without kind words like these coming from readers, it hardly seems fanfic writing is worth it. Thanks be to you all for the support guys! Gotta thank all those who are endeavouring to create fanfic pieces of their own. The imagination of our forum writers is unmatched. Good work everyone!
Caustizer & Sky Both need a shout out from me for their collaboration on the fanfic "Far Away Home". Sky's OC is wonderfully designed along with all the other artist pieces created and Caustizer's narrative and storywriting skills are excellent. The prose is simple and easy to visualise without sacrificing detail and depth of character portrayal. A great fanfic I'm loving reading so far.
Gotta give a holler to Mumbling for her constant enthusiasm for the forum. Her input into the LBT Game Project has been priceless as well as her efforts to promote LBT fanwork with her DeviantART LBT group! Kudos to you my dear! Will get my artwork up there soon. Promise!
Action9000 is one of those guys you can just click with. I'm honoured to be part of his ambitious project of creating this LBT RPG game. I'm also glad for his patience with me regarding getting stuff done. Heh heh! :D You just can't say a bad word about this guy. I'm so glad I got to meet this awesome fella in person and finally shake his hand! Every ounce of his cool, calm and awesomeness over MSN was accented once we met back in December. Thanks pal! A true friend indeed!
Nimrod is the kind of guy you can just be yourself with. He's cool, quirky and never holds back when it comes to joining in on the fun. Our meeting in Scandinavia was only made more awesome by the company we had and Nimrod contributed naturally by just being himself. Besides all that, he's a wickid gamer and we are yet to have our link up on Resi 5. Our day will come good sir and those bad guys won't know what hit 'em!
There is no way I can't mention Malte279. There is just so much to this guy that it's almost decadent. Intelligent, witty and so so caring. If you were ever down a parent, this guy could fill in no problem! If you ever have the honour of meeting this guy face to face, you will never feel alone. I've had the pleasure of meeting him three times over an extended stretch and I sincerely hope that our current meetings are a good sign of more visits to come. Thanks for your hospitality buddy! Homage to my home boy Lillefot!. I've never met someone so dead set on focusing on one's self to ensure he betters himself in every way possible. Having said that, he knows when to lighten up and is just a joy to be around. Our humour just clicks together (especially when I mention the one name "Excella" :lol ) and he just an all round fun guy to be around. As with Mumbling, Malte, Nimrod and Action, I'm so glad I got to meet him in person. Hopefully we can keep our visits a constant open channel between us all.

An extremely belated thank you to Mumbling, probably the longest waiting thank you in this thread yet. I was reviewing the old captions and stumbled across this picture. (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=5247) At first it was just funny, but a couple minutes later it dawned on me...the GOF has a page where you can track where everyone is??? I painstakingly typed the given URL into the search bar, and found the Online User list for the first time. I've now spent ungodly amounts of time refreshing the page and watching users as they traverse throughout the forum. It's weirdly engrossing.
I'm sure there was an easier way of finding it, but I've now set my GOF bookmark to take me to the Online List instead of the Index page, since it's just such a cool find. So thank you, Mumbling, for a screenshot taken 10 months ago, and thanks action for posting it for captions.

*Saft- For being good-natured and kind to other members despite having difficulties lately. That really says a lot (in my opinion) about her character, and makes her a good friend to have around :yes.
*MrDrake- This member always brightens my mood when I come onto the GOF. He's funny, and he's become a regular in the Party Room. I also like how he seemed to fit right in with the RP section.

It is high time for me to post in this thread again. I am rather late as I had some strange idea in mind of waiting until the thread had become a bit silent again so it would not look like merely responding to earlier posts. But on second thought that is a rather stupid reason to wait. In any case this comes from heart and not merely as a response.
Pangea, it was a very lucky day indeed for the GOF when you found it. Sadly many members who have posted as well thought through and detailed posts as yourself stayed but only for a short time. You on the other hand will soon be around for a year without your posts having lost any of their substance. You are always kind but for that you are not shy to give your honest opinion especially in feedback to the works of others. Very few people manage to do that (being kind and at the same time constructively critical). It shows that you really care about the works of others which in turn is a great encouragement.
I would love to establish more contact with you :yes
Cancerian Tiger, no flattery intended but if I was asked to spontaneously name a GOF who stands out for being able to express herself and stand for her opinions without ramming them down anybody's throat it would definitely be you Anna.
I really appreciate you a lot for being someone with whom one can discuss and be of different opinions without feeling bad about it or making you feel bad about it. Your open mindedness combined with taking a stand for your views has always impressed me. Moreover you have always shown great concern not just for yourself but for the GOF as a community. You are a great example for someone who can see the world not just through your own eyes but also through the eyes of others. For all this I am really fond of you. Though it may sound repetitive you too are a member with whom I would love to establish more contacts.
Nimrod, you have a lot to do these days and so do I Patrick. I really hope that your projects and endeavors are turning out alright so you end up with more time for the GOF again. Seriously I miss you but I know how there is a lot to keep you busy these days and the last thing I would want to do is add more pressure. Good luck Pat :goodluck

Rat_Lady7, you too have brought a lot to the GOF since you joined. Sparking new ideas many of which have become great successes, participating in many of the discussions which I really enjoy and being very respectful about the opinions and views of others. The large time difference between California and Germany probably keeps us from coming across each other on MSN very frequently Amy, but I enjoy it every time we do :yes
Saft, to you I wish really good luck Katie. You have to deal with many tough situations not allowing yourself to be overcome by them. Like I said in many of our MSN chats, you could sometimes allow to give yourself more credit for this and your other accomplishments. As I already mentioned above I haven't been around as much on MSN of lately as I used to, but I am looking forward to our next chat :)
F-22 "raptor Ace", I don't know you as much as I would like to seeing that we really have some common interests in military history that we could discuss. I greatly appreciate some of the history threads you started and I really would really love to do more on that on the GOF or MSN... do you have an MSN account?
In a community so large as the GOF it is not possible to know every member equally well. There are many of you whom I don't know outside the GOF and who I don't know as well from discussions as others. However many of you are really who keep the GOF going and who are no less appreciable than any of the members I have named above.
brekclub85, Caustizer, Drake, Explorer, jedi472, lbt/cty_lover, LBTFan13, Myrkin, Serris, and The Great Valley Guardian are only some of the many members I don't know nearly as well as I would like to even though the GOF would be nothing without them. As I said it is impossible to know all GOF members as well as I would like to and the member appreciation thread is mostly to pay special respects to members who we greatly appreciate which is why I hope I am not coming up with too long a list when I did not know specifically what to tell those I do not know as well as some of the others but I really think that there are many whom I would write no less about than I have about some others if only I knew you better.
Looking forward to get to know you better and hold on together with the GOF :wave

I haven't mentioned you in a while, Malte, but you were one of the first users I got to know on the GOF and your more intellectual threads were one of my main motivations for staying with the forum. You're also one of the most level-headed people I know; even now when I read through the threads in the After Midnight section and see rant threads yelling about some current event, I can count on at least one post that calmly discusses the topic without getting choked up in an emotional fervor. Thank you for that.

F-22 "raptor Ace", I don't know you as much as I would like to seeing that we really have some common interests in military history that we could discuss. I greatly appreciate some of the history threads you started and I really would really love to do more on that on the GOF or MSN... do you have an MSN account?
Thank you malte! I just haven't thought of any moments in history to start a topic on for a while so that's why I haven't started anymore. I have an MSN hotmail account. Maybe I'll start a topic or two :D on military aircraft of world war two depending on if I do it aircraft by aircraft.

I was just thinking the same thing :yes. I really do apologize if I have seemed to be gruff lately. I've been under a higher than normal level of stress, and as Rob and a couple of others pointed out in the LBT Comic thread, it must be school and other similarly important things that are causing abnormal amounts of stress among us. Everyone here is considered my friend, and I hate to offend others. I do appreciate everyone here :yes.

I can’t believe it took me so long to think to do this, :bang but I would like to thank everyone who has submitted entries to the LBT Glossary (and those who have pointed out the occasional mistakes I have made while writing said glossary :oops).
I also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all members who have taken the time to post questions in my “Ask Me” thread. Maybe it sounds silly, but I truly derive great enjoyment from answering questions, and it lifts my spirits whenever I see that a new question to me has been posted. I am immensely grateful to have been asked as many questions as I have, and hope that I continue to receive them. :)

I would like to give a big thank you to Pangaea for all the feedback he has given me on my fanfic. It truly encourages me to continue writing when I see someone post a reply that shows they've really read it, rather than a simple "awesome chapter, keep it up" kind of reply. Not to mention that I, being somewhat of a perfectionist, really appreciate him pointing out any errors to correct or parts that could use improvement. If anyone wants to see the effects of this, compare the version of my fanfic seen here on GoF and the (greatly improved) version on fanfiction.net. (I won't be correcting the version here on GoF until after I'm completely finished the story, which should be sometime in early June.)
I would also like to say thanks to Malte279 for encouraging me to change the way I participate in the Geography Game. For a while, I would simply look in my atlas and post a name I found interesting. Then, just over a month ago, I noticed his posts in that topic that were full of rather interesting facts. This inspired me to change the way I participated in that topic. I still look up the names of places in my atlas, but in addition to that I also do some brief research on that place. (I find Wikipedia to be the most convenient option for such quick research.) Now when I post there, I post the name of a place along with at least one fact I found rather interesting. (For example, did you that the region around the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan is thought to be the ancestral home of domestic apples?)

Malte: I really like how he tries to resolve any diputes or conflicts that could be going on, and yet he remains calm and level-headed when he speaks up. I admit that's not very easy to do, and therefore I find a trait like that to be admirable.
Saft: Despite dealing with some serious problems, she manages to be very nice and good-natured. I have yet to see this member get angry with anyone here.
Animeboye: We may not always see eye-to-eye on things, but he brings up a lot of good points in GOF discussions. Oftentimes, he'll even bring up a point that nobody else has brought up yet. He seems realistic and down-to-earth.
WeirdRaptor: Same reasons as Animeboye. He is another member who brings up good points in discussions.

Hi, I wanted to post again to thank a few people that have really helped me with my stuff this year. I admit I haven't really been on here as much as other people, so I really haven't been there to comment on a few things and respond to other person's hurts. So I do have people at the top of my head I really want to thank deeply.
Saft-Thank you so much for that pm awhile back. I still remember it and I read it whenever I need to reassure myself on my relationship issues. I know we don't talk to each other much, but I really hope we can connect a bit more one day.
Malte-I really enjoy the chats we have, though I wonder if I seem to be more annoying then an enjoyable person to talk to since my sentences aren't very in-depth all the time like yours. I guess I chat at the wrong times for myself, I don't know...but anyway...
I still enjoy our chats nevertheless, and I really enjoy reading you opinion and find myself more often then not nodding and thinking, "Yeah, that's definitely true. I was thinking that myself."
I think I am blessed to have him as a friend myself. :)
Pangaea-From his questions to his pm to me, I really appreciate him for what he has done not only to me, but to the rest of the forum. I wish he had more confidence in himself, because I really don't believe he realizes what a smart, sensitive, and funny person he is. From someone that knows what it's like to have an ASD, he seems to be doing very well coping with life. I really feel blessed to have him as my friend. :)
Littlefoot1616-I unfortunately don't know him very well and I envy him for his ability to really just enjoy life and not be dragged down by any circumstances. It could just be a culture thing of course, but I just always admired that about him. Then he speaks of how he can relate to being in a situation where people expect him to be a certain way or brush him aside for "making a fuss" when he really might be upset about something. I still read his comments on some of the topics I made, and I still admire and respect this guy for what he has posted. :)
Cancerian Tiger-This lovely southern belle has been through my life in all situations. Even when I was being OTM she was able to forgive and get past it. I find us to be very similar on many things. With the exception of Cera, but mostly I find us to be very similar. I am so blessed to have in her in my life. :)
Alex-Thank you so much for the continuing questions, I'm always happy to talk to someone and just chat about things. My answers may have not been disappointing it seems, but he still asks questions and I love answering them! ^^

Though some of these I've said before, I just want to say thanks again to Great Valley Guardian, Dark Hououmon, Cancerian Tiger, Kor, Nick22, MrDrake, The Friendly Sharptooth, Chiltrek, The Chronicler, Explorer, LBTFan 13, and more, for just always being great to talk with and being really good friends, even if I hadn't spoke as much with some as I have the others.
And the GOF as a whole-as a place I can be with friends if my friends in real life are busy. :)

I didn’t want to start a new thread for this, and figured that there was no better place to post it than here.
It has been exactly one year since I made my first post (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=5719) on The Gang Of Five. :birthday When I first made the decision to become a participating member, I expected that I would just be an on-and-off poster who dispensed information on prehistoric life on request or where it looked like it would be appreciated. I never would have guessed that within a year’s time, I would have left feedback on the work of more than a dozen of the GOF’s artists and authors (often on a recurrent basis), joined an RP in which I would make over 130 posts, and contributed a total of more than 1,600 posts to the forum. I have become a far more involved and prominent part of this community than I could have ever hoped for. The GOF has become like an online home for me, and needless to say this would not have happened if I the rest of you had not accepted me as one of the family. Never before have I felt such a sense of belonging and attachment in a group not united by blood ties. I can barely remember what my life was like before I joined, let alone imagine what I would be doing today if I hadn’t. I truly believe that I have grown as a person by joining and participating in this forum; it has expanded my social horizons, boosted my self-confidence, taught me strengths I didn’t know I had, helped me hone my abilities in areas where I already knew I had talent, and kept me going through times when I might have otherwise felt futile and hopeless. And I owe it all to you, my fellow members of The Gang Of Five. :)
My sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to the GOF, and all the members who have welcomed, supported, and interacted with me this past year. :)

I want to thank MrDrake for everything he's done for the Darwin's Soldiers RP. He's really revitalized the RP, including a maze of new subplots and interesting characters, and his use of female characters allowed several users outlets for romantic storylines, something Darwin's Soldiers has never really had. In addition, he's helped expand the Darwin's Soldiers TV Tropes page, and makes an effort to respond to or incorporate other people's posts. Just wanted to make sure his efforts were noticed. :yes

Wow, I'm surprised there hasn't been a post in this for a while, so I'm going to post to bring this thread back.
First off, I want to thank Kor for nominating me for Helpful Member Award back in the summer. I never expected to be nominated for that award, and I really appreciated it a lot. I also would like to thank Cancerian Tiger and Cautizer for voting for me for Appreciated Member. Again, I never expected to be in the running and I really appreciated your support.
I've thanked her already, and I'm going to thank her again.Darkhououmon must be one of the most patient people I have ever had the pleasure of talking with. She has helped me so much with all of my problems with Sony Vegas and listened to me rant about how stupid they were. At the same time, she will always listen to me if I ever need to get something off my chest, and she always gives great advice whenever I need it. I have highly enjoyed talking to her on MSN and am very glad that we are getting to know each other better over the course of doing so. So again, Kacie, I thank you for being such a great friend and a great soul. Please never change who you are as a person :)
Aves, I know how difficult it can be to come back after what seems like forever and start an RP to try and get back into the swing of things. However, I am having so much fun RPing with you and I highly look forward to continuing to do so. I know I've only gotten one chance to talk to you over Skype, but I hope that will change very soon. I want to thank you for the work you are putting in the RP section and for being such a cool person.
GreatValleyGuardian, two years I have been on GOF, and two years you still amaze me as an RPer. Longtail is truly a masterpiece of a character, but more importantly you put your soul into him. I may not know you in person, but I feel like I know you well enough just through your character. I am still having a lot of fun with your RP, despite how tragic it is, and I really feel like the bond Longtail and Zaine share relate to how easy we get along. I am really blessed to know you on GOF and be able to RP with you.
Malte, I really hope that we get the chance to chat over MSN or something more often. I've only gotten the chance to talk to you a few times, but from those times I can tell you are a truly nice and spirited person. You do so much for GOF and I don't feel that you get the appreciation you deserve. So thank you for everything you contribute to GOF and for being the kind of person you are, and I truly do hope that we get the chance to talk more.

Too much time has passed since I have posted here and I think that to some degree it is fear that excessive posting here might have a negative inflationary effect on the perceived value of mentions here. For the same reason the few mentions that I make are absolutely NOT meant to be exclusively in any way as in suggesting that I didn't see or appreciate what others say or do.
Katie (Saft) and Michael (The Friendly Sharptooth) are two of us whom I greatly appreciate for our very deep MSN conversations in particular. Both are very sensitive friends neither of whom I would ever want to miss. If my ways ever bring me to England or you to Germany I really hope that we can see each other in real life as well as we do online Katie :)
You Michael have become well known on the GOF for your thought through sensible posts and have been a bit silent on the GOF recently. You know, I sometimes think that it would be really great to read your discussions on LBT or other topics with the next member of the GOF whom I want to mention in this post for his really detailed, elaborate and thought through posts among other.
This member would be Pangea. A thinker, an artist, a great debater and one who cares about and appreciates what others are doing. I really don't think I presume too much when I assume that I am speaking for many others as well when I say that Pangea's feedback, praise, and criticism of and thoughts on my work make this work seem so much more worthwhile! Really Pangea it is a very heartening feeling to know that there is someone who really cares about and shows interest in what I am doing (this is not meant to suggest you to be the only one but you are one who is very distinct about it). For this Pangea I feel really great gratitude for you and think that so do many others :yes
Rob (LBTFan13) is another member of the GOF without whom a post on appreciated members would be just incomplete in spite of my aforementioned efforts not to inflate the post by adding too many. Same as with Katie and Michael my contact with Robert is greatly improved through our MSN conversations in addition to our GOF posts. We didn't happen to come across each other much in the recent weeks, but I really want you to know that it adds a lot to the quality of a day to find a friend on MSN with whom one can talk on all the world and his brother sometimes :)
The next expression of appreciation must be to a member in declared absence, but I know that she still checks out the GOF sometimes and will hopefully see this. Without her I would not be writing this message now and neither would have any of those who posted before me in this thread. I am talking of Amy (Rat_Lady7) of course. Amy, you are awesome wherever you are now and it will be a most happy day for the GOF when you return for which I will continue to hope as (again I don't think I presume too much) I am certain do many others.

Next I want to express my appreciation for the patience of a member whom I think I am annoying sometimes though I don't mean to ;) No matter what Dillon (Campion1) your decisions are yours to make of course and when this here underemployed private school teacher sounds like he was preaching sometimes he doesn't mean to dictate anything to you but give advise which I am convinced can be useful to utilize your great potential in life even better. I greatly enjoy our RPG and in the context of this RPG I also want to praise Myrkin for his roles there and also for his contributions to the GOF in general.

Yet another one of my oddities when writing in this thread is that I sometimes tend not to write on some with whom I have the most frequent and constant contact (you're listening Adam, Jason, Gustav, Kacie, Tim? :p). I don't really know why but perhaps it is the assumption that those with whom one is in frequent contact know this already. Nevertheless I cannot but add one of my most frequent MSN contacts to this list of appreciation. Iris (Mumbing) always shows great concern for others, tries to (more often simply DOES) help where she can and is always there... (now I made a pun without meaning to ;)) ...when she can help. She is also a great and very productive artist with the clay. Gosh I really love that Shorty figure Iris :D

Cancerian Tiger: Every time something comes up in my life, you are always one of the first to offer your advice. This past girl problem took a lot out of me, and I was grateful for your input not only with this situation but with all the other previous ones I have gone through in my life. Mumbling: You and I unfortunately haven't talked in a while, mostly because we are always so busy with our lives. I am very happy that we are getting to know each other better, and as always I am grateful for you sitting through my constant complaining about things and offering your assistance with a lot of them. Pangaea: I can only imagine how you must have felt when you took over "In the Land Before Time". I know how it feels to be a GM of an RP, but this one is beyond anything I could ever muster. You handled everything very well, and I know how hard it must have been to balance this with your life. It has been common in other forums that an RP such as this would die under new management, but thanks to you it didn't and for that I thank you.
Rat_lady7: To go along with Pangaea, you've created one of the best RP's I have ever been involved in. I know I took a LONG break from it, and I was unsure on how I would be able to jump back in. I want to thank you for making me feel so welcomed in that RP and for helping me get back in smoothly. I'm having a lot of fun with it and I know it will go on and become even better.
There are definitely a few people that I am forgetting right now, and for that I apologize. These are the people I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure I will post again really soon to add them in.

brekclub85: Well Saw 3D has come out, we've seen it, and we all enjoyed it very much. I never thought I would find other people who enjoyed Saw as much as I do, mainly because everyone I mention Saw to hates it. You, Cancerian Tiger and I have had a lot of thoughtful discussions about the Saw franchise and the movies themselves and I want to say thank you for all of them. I really enjoyed having these discussions about Saw and now that the franchise has come to a close, they are even more meaningful.
Kor: We've chatted once for a little bit, and I really enjoyed it. I hope we will get the chance to chat more often in the future as I would like to get to know you better as well as further discuss the revival of the Power Rangers RP we were planning before. Most of all, you are a lot of fun to RP with as well as just an overall friendly and great person to talk with. For that, I thank you.

Pangaea- Buddy, I really can't thank you enough for taking over the rp while I was gone. I know you are relatively new to rping, but I think you did a HECK of a lot of a better job then I could. And I mean as far as communication with other people. I was sort of just "winging it" and testing out the powers of a DM (Dungeon Master).

I’m long overdue for another post in this thread. (Has it really been a whole 365 days since I last thanked people by name? :blink:) I honestly don’t think I post here often enough, considering the immeasurable value and gratitude I have for the people of this forum. I also feel that I owe a message of appreciation to any member who considers me helpful or significant enough to mention me in this thread; I really can’t tell you how good it feels for this self-esteem-impoverished individual to see myself cited here. :)
Regrettably, I’ve been having a hard time getting my head into writing lately, so forgive me if the following descriptions fall short of my usual eloquence.
Rat_lady7: Amy and I have had many pleasant conversations by PM and e-mail, and she has been a great friend to me in general. I sorely missed this member while she was away, but at the same time I felt honored that she thought highly enough of my RPing skills to entrust me with the “In The Land Before Time” RP while she was gone. It goes without saying that I was elated by her return.
Saft: This member has been nothing but friendly, polite, and supportive to me, and I feel like I owe her a lot. Somehow I didn’t notice her stated interest in conversing with me by e-mail or MSN until just now. :bang My apologies, Saft; I will remedy this immediately.
Caustizer: Not only has this member created one of the best LBT fanfictions I have ever read, but I feel very privileged to have been so involved in it, to the extent that a character I created appears in the story.
DarkHououmon: Kacie continues to engage me in enjoyable PM discussions, and frequently brings fascinating scientific media such as news articles and documentaries to my attention.
Sky: In addition to keeping Caustizer motivated to continue working on Far Away Home through his fantastic artwork, Sky has given me invaluable advice and information on drawing tablets, without which I would almost certainly not own the one I have now. Not to mention the feedback he have given me in my art thread.
DarkWolf91: Another member whose art skills I hugely admire, who has been very kind to me, and who has given me much-appreciated suggestions on how to improve my own artwork.
The Friendly Sharptooth: I still have had relatively few PM conversations with this member, but I am immensely thankful for the words of kindness and support he has had to offer me.
LBTFan13: Although my interactions with this member have mostly been limited to the “In The Land Before Time” RP, I greatly appreciate the support and assistance he gave me while I was in charge of it.

Finally, I want to thank one of our newer members, FlipperBoidSkua, whom I credit with helping me out of a posting rut I had been in for the past several weeks. She has also proven to be a very interesting and fun person to talk to; I look forward to having more of these delightful conversations with her. :)

Ah, the member appreciation thread. The place to glorify the good deeds of others in an organized fashion. Who doesn’t love a thread like this? Many people have brightened my Gang of Five experience both through it and outside of it. Tonight I’m going to touch on several people that have made my life or the forum a better place.
Nick22- This man has been my surfboard throughout the ocean of my life. When troublesome waves have come my way, he has been very supportive and kept me afloat. Our phone conversations really lift my spirits, and I don’t mean they make alcohol float. His great sense of humor, logic, and encouragement have really upped my experience of life. He helps me with my many troubles in a mature, enjoyable fashion, and I greatly appreciate it. His compliments have really boosted my self esteem as well, and his impressions always have a way of making me laugh, no matter how bad of a day I’ve had.
Malte279- A true voice of reason, he is. He’s stopped me from making a lot of foolish decisions. His advice is astounding. I can enter a conversation with him strongly believing something, then leave saying to myself, “How on Earth could I have ever thought that?” He has influenced my steps in a very positive way. I really appreciate his input on disputes because he remains ever so impartial. When I’m down, despite being ever so busy chatting with people online, he manages to encourage me, giving me peace of mind. Even when I whine about the same things over and over, he never stops trying to be of help, always giving my problems his best effort. A lot of his time is not his own, but he never hesitates to use what time he has to help those in need.
Mumbling- She is so stinking mean! Gosh! Oh, wait. I got telling the truth and lying mixed up there for a second. She is so incredibly kind! Gosh! No matter how miserable I am, she has this magic, this gift, of putting a big grin on my face. She is so sweet and thoughtful whenever we chat, and it always instills happiness in my heart. She is very maternal, causing me to view her like family. She always speaks the truth to me, no color coating things. That shows her respect of me. She realizes that the best way to help people is not to flatter and hide the problem, but to be honest so people can improve and get stronger. She is an amazing sculptor and has agreed to make some figurines for me, much to my delight. When she finishes them, they will be amongst my greatest treasures. What gets to me the most is how quickly and efficiently she can turn my depression around. She’s the human form of an antidepressant. “Okay, Michael. Depression is a tough thing, but this list should keep you going. Drink a lot of water, make sure you get exercise, don’t eat too much sugar and drink too much caffeine, and chat with Mumbling at least three times a week. Keep that up, and you’ll be fine.” “Do I need a prescription for the Mumbling part?” “Nope. The best part of all is that she’s always there for you, no matter what.”
Pangaea- I appreciate yet feel sorry for him at the same time. The forum treats him like a small army. He gets so many review requests despite his personal issues and lack of time. What astounds me is that he has put the forum ahead of himself on a large level. Writing so many reviews can get incredibly stressful, and even without them, he has enough sources of stress from other things. Yet he marches on with a bold face that does not falter. I personally feel that, considering all he does here, he hasn’t fully been given his dues. He is a major contributor to this forum, and it’s all quality too. He fights his personal problems for the sake of others feeling appreciated. His reviews are so uplifting that it just puts extra spirit into the soul of writers and artists. At the same time, he is no flatterer. He speaks the truth, pointing out positives and flaws alike. There are those who fear telling people what they did wrong, but Pangaea does not know such fear. He gives people not only want they want, but what they need as well. No matter how worn out he gets, giving up is not on his mind. He feels a sense of duty to the forum, and he has not faltered. He is an extremely valuable member that deserves our praise and admiration.
Saft- Her thread bursts really help me get more into posting on the forum. She creates a balance of two kinds of threads, that when combined, really add a lot of pleasure and depth to the forum’s atmosphere. For one thing, she creates threads that not only challenge our minds, but our hearts as well. They challenge us, making us really think and consider our feelings, such ones being euthanasia and whether or not all women have the right to a child. The other kind is the enjoyably-simplistic ones, like favorite ice cream flavors and what kind of animal we would like to be. Those are very fun yet easy threads to reply to. Such threads are wonderful when someone is in the mood to relax and doesn’t want to think or write much. Her thread combination has been responsible for most of my posts as of late. It’s like a working man. He spends his day hard at work (just like doing her challenging threads) then he comes home, puts his feet up, then watches some television as he reclines (her simply threads). She has really been a major contributor to this forum, and I owe a lot of my posts to her. When I’m energetic and up to debate, I have her deep threads, and when I’m tired and bored, I have many of her easy threads to choose from. She has really helped me get back into this forum.
LBTDiclonius- If I wrote a thesaurus and got to the word awesome, I would not only add words like, great, splendid, wonderful, marvelous, but I would make sure to leave room for the word LBTDiclonius. She is just that awesome. She is so active. She’s already gotten hundreds of posts in a very short time, and in them has shown a lot of good insight. She speaks very clearly and makes nice points. I’ve been chatting with her a lot and she is just so fun to be around. When I feel lonely, she’s been there so much on messenger to keep me company. She is an amazing reviewer and her words always leave writers feeling a lot better. Her compliments really help to put a smile on people’s faces. She is just so smart and fun and it really shows. She has no trouble making new friends, as her personality is really inviting; she just has this warm nature about her. She is an awesome kind of friend to have, hands down.
FlipperBoidSkua- She is so very helpful. When I wanted a picture drawn, she didn’t even hesitate. Whenever I review her work, she puts just as much effort into showing her appreciation. She has been very kind to me in every way. I really enjoy our chats because she has this bubbly personality that just can’t be disliked. She’s like a magnet for good cheer, making her a much-desired friend to have. Her writing is so alive, but she doesn’t just write. No, she shares her time with other people’s work, and I greatly appreciate the reviews she has given my works. She just has so much energy that it makes time with her feel so alive. She’s so talented and thoughtful, a great combination.

But please, I wouldn't say that! :oops I can think of only two or three members who have actually requested me to review their work; all the other fanart and fanfiction threads I follow I started reviewing by my own choice (initially, at least; I'm sure there are some artists and writers who have come to expect feedback from me as a result of my reviewing their work so frequently). This pit of stress and overwhelmedness I am in is one I have dug myself; I can't, don't, and won't blame the GOF for it. You all have been so good to me. :^.^:

I haven't posted in here in too long, so I'd like to start off with thanking all those who have included me in their posts since the last time I posted here.
Again, I want to make it known that I appreciate everyone here, and that I have never known a kinder, friendlier group anywhere else. That said, there are a couple of individuals I'd like to specifically point out:
*The Friendly Sharptooth: This is a member I have never seen get ugly with anybody, and he comes across as kind, insightful, and friendly. Even when I thought I had offended him on his mos recent work of poetry, he was thoughtful enough to ensure me he wasn't offended, and through our discussions he was able to produce a much better version of his poem. As seen by the feedback posted in his thread, I can truly say that is not just an IMO statement but a fact. I am glad something positive came of this, and again I appreciate TFS' patient and good-natured personality :yes.
*LBTDiclonius: This is one of our newer members, and I already find her to be a fun and positive addition to the GOF. She seems very friendly, and I look forward to seeing more of her posts in Amy's RP ;).
*Mirumoto_Kenjiro: For our discussions on paranormal activity and his thread on gardening (which I have yet to post in), I appreciate this member. He also seems very friendly.
Again, I appreciate everyone here and thank y'all for being such a friendly community to be a part of :).

Iris has been a great friend and adviser for me on MSN and whatever else may happen in this year, it did have an awesome start at her place when I could welcome the new year with her and her family. :)
Austin (landbeforetimelover) is really a tireless worker on behalf of the GOF. Creating new designs, making suggestions, actively participating in the rock circle discussions. He really deserves all recognition for this.
Katie she too is a great friend and chat partner on MSN. Though I am sometimes pretty bad at thinking of questions I enjoy our questions and answers game there a lot Katie, not to mention chats on history and life in general.
Michael there is little I can add and nothing I can detract from what my preceding posters have said about him already. And I totally agree with what Nick told you Michael. This surely is a two way street :yes
We have had a number of very new active members and reading their contributions really delights me. I'm really impressed by your wide range of knowledge and interests jansenov which come with a really friendly attitude. It is a pleasure to have you with us:yes
We don't hear much of him on the GOF these days, but to me Gustav is always a great friend and the prospect of probably seeing him and other friends from the GOF in another great meeting again is what really keeps me up sometimes when things are looking gloomy. Thank you for that Gus :yes

Cancerian Tiger - She is one of the most kind people on the GOF and I respect her for being deeply spiritual and opinionated but never forcing them on anyone else.
Caustizer - Not only is he an avid fan of Twilight Valley but he is also a nice person to talk to.
Nick22 - He is not only an excellent admin but he is also a great roleplayer. Finally, he is a nice person to talk to.
Pangaea - This member is not only dedicated to improving the quality of the fanworks here in a nice and non-confrontational way but he is also very kind and polite.
LB&T - He is singlehandedly responsible for turning Darwin's Soldiers from a single RP to an entire universe. Not to mention he is an all around good guy.

Well, I have some long overdue appreciation to express, as well as some that is fairly new. This may just be my favorite thread. Giving people the gratitude that is due them is such a marvelous feeling. When people are doing such good things, I can’t help but shout it from the mountain tops.
Malte279- He’s proven long ago that he’d make a successful philosopher. Besides that, a specialty in teaching has proven to also be existent in his noble soul. Well, I’ve finally realized something else, something new: He is going to make quite a father someday. His tolerance when someone is throwing a fit is just remarkable. I was having one of my “episodes” the other day, really going all out in my chat with him in a very negative fashion. Why, he couldn’t have been more peaceable in reply than if he’d been asleep. He spoke very rationally and took no offense at my words. My fit of frustration didn’t faze him at all. He gave excellent advice in a very mature fashion. I can see him now with three kids. One crying from being too hungry, another yanking on his shirt wanting some money, and yet another still screaming from a cut, all the while with his wife talking loudly on the phone. I wager that he’d barely bat an eye and would instead gently focus on each of his kids at a time until their problems were resolved then return to reading the newspaper. He is just that cool and collective during chaos. If there was an immaturity contest, he’d lose, hands down.
Cancerian Tiger- Here is a true reviewer, in which there is nothing false. When I’ve written some Land Before Time pieces, she has withheld nothing from her opinions. She speaks the truth without color-coating. If I want to know what she really thinks about something, I know that I don’t have to ask her twice. She is forthright, but she is not rude. She says exactly what is on her mind and is kind in the process. If she isn’t fond of something, she won’t try and give false pleasure by saying that she is. She is thankfully not afraid of coming right out with her opinions, and boy are they helpful. When she likes something, she is anything but lazy, taking her time to tell people that she is fond of their work. She is also so considerate, being very careful to not hurt another’s feelings. She is so loving to others, one just can’t help but love her right back. Her big heart makes her the object of much popularity. She is so valuable to this forum, I couldn’t picture it without her. If there was an unfriendly contest, she’d lose, hands down.
Rat_lady7- If someone here does not like her for any reason, I would seriously question that person’s sanity. She always has the forum wrapped up in one big, cheerful hug, and we feel it all the time. She is so thoughtful, creating threads that work on our hearts, and her replies in the threads of others are pieced together from the depths of her pure soul. When I see something written by her, I grin before I even read it; I don’t have to know her words to know that they’ll be beautiful. On a more personal note, when a shared an issue I struggled with, she kindly shared her own experience in the same situation and comforted me. She did everything in her power to encourage me in my lowest of times. I was very badly off, but she treated my wounds. She gave me reason to hope and not give in to the darkness creeping in my own mind. She is an invaluable friend because she does not judge but instead shares the light of her being to those who need it, regardless of their situation. If there was a hating contest, she’d lose, hands down.
DarkHououmon- She is an amazing writer, a master of the art. However, that is not what I like most about her. She is also a master of being kind and helpful. Every time I have a question, she’s there to answer it. If she doesn’t know, she finds out. Whenever I have a problem, she has the right answer to get me through it. When I need to pour out the contents of my heart, she is an amazing listener, followed by being a very logical advice giver. Her maturity and willingness to share it knows no bounds. She is a true friend, without a doubt. When I’ve been in trouble, she’s rushed to my defense, like a mother bird with her chicks. I feel safer knowing that she is there, and better yet, there for me. I value her highly, and she deserves that. Her mind is great and her heart is huge. Best of all, she’s never too busy to share them both. If there was an unhelpful contest, she’d lose, hands down.
LBTDiclonius- She is one amazing girl! I’ve never seen such maturity at such an early stage of life. Her sophistication rivals my college buddies. Chatting with her is a real treat. It’s almost too good to be true. She has a great sense of humor that really lights up the atmosphere on windows live messenger. When I feel down or bored, she puts a smile on my face and brightens my general outlook. She just has this friendly innocence that just makes her undeniably likable to anyone lucky enough to get to know her. Her creativity is astounding as well. We’ve been co-writing a story, me on half the chapters, and her the other, and her ideas and style just amaze me. She has so many gifts at such a young age. It’s like filling a lunch box with diamonds; don’t let her youth fool you, as she is just full of great qualities. It’s an honor to be a friend of someone as special as her. I hope that I can be as good to her as she is to me. If there was a boring contest, she’d lose, hands down.
Saft- Oh, how I wish I was more like this lady. She is so strong! She has been attacked on all fronts in her new university life. Problems here and there and everyone plague her everyday life. Yet, she stays on, strong as ever, emerging triumphant from every hardship that comes her way. She just won’t give up no matter what the world throws at her. I’m not like that. I fall away easily at signs of trouble. Furthermore, my trials are sparse compared to hers, yet abandoning hope has crossed my mind. She has the power to persevere because she doesn’t let the worries of the present consume her, but instead focuses on the glories of her bright future. She is just so gifted. If the world was in terrible danger, she wouldn’t be one of those who runs around screaming. She’s the type to focus on doing whatever she can to make it through successfully. I envy her strength. She just won’t be taken down by hardships. She doesn’t grow bitter or mean, but even through ever trouble that comes her way, she comes here to the forum with a smile and cheery disposition that shows just how remarkable of a person she is. She has helped me to find my own strength. Seeing her succeeding as she has helps me to follow in her footsteps. I’ve been groping around in darkness for so long, but seeing how amazing she handles her life has been a flashlight to help guide my way. I look at my troubles and now say, “I’m going to be like Saft and not let them bring me down.” If there was a giving up contest, she’d lose, hands down.
This forum is made beautiful by its remarkable people. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful community, made special by all of you. I hope that I can give back to this place almost as much as it’s provided for me. This forum is my home, my life, and I couldn’t be more proud to call myself a member. Thank you, all of you, for accepting me into the family.

I appreciate the thanks, Malte. As much as I would hate to disappoint you, I feel that you should be aware of a few things. First of all, I've never chatted before, I don't know how such a thing works, and I don't ever intend to do such a thing. The reason is that if I were to chat with you, you would quickly notice that I take a very long time to type my messages, so posting here on a forum is best for me.
I'm not a history buff like you, but I do have a moderate interest in it. After all, I do tend to watch a lot of shows in the History Channel. By the way, if I do come across some videos of those shows posted online that you might like, where should I tell you? I was thinking maybe your "ask me" topic, since I'm uncomfortable with e-mail, and I have a feeling your PM inbox would be getting full by now.
Also, I never did any research. All of those articles that I showed you are ones that I simply came across during my daily routine of reading news articles on Yahoo that interest me. Since you said you would looking for articles relating to the Civil War, I figured I would just post links to every one that I came across.
Still, I'm quite honored to have you, of all GoF members, specifically mention your appreciation of me. I guess this means I'm not such an obscure member as I once thought. :)

Although my endless questioning of a variety of things must be annoying and you'll probably pray to the night trolls every night that I don't ask any more, I am really grateful that you put up with me through those times when I talk about problems. Thank you also for yesterday; for advising me to accept Stephen's invitation. If I hadn't listened to you, then i wouldn't have gone.

It’s so nice to have such wonderful friends who really care and want to do what’s best for others. I’ve found more compassion and concern here than I usually do with those bound by blood. So, thank you all, and I would like to point out a few people.
Malte279: He has such a high tolerance level. I’ve been experiencing some changes in my life that have really reduced my familiarity to others, but he hasn’t minded it. He takes a lot of time to assist in areas that need improvement and is very nice in the process. Patient and discerning, he is more than a pleasure to be in company with.
Saft: She has a knack for being helpful and interesting in the process. When I have an issue, she confronts it head on, using both her experience and knowledge to rectify things while employing her pleasant sense of humor to keep things feeling light and comfortable. When I want the truth about something I’ve done or a situation I’m in, I can come to her, know full well that she will not dance around the issue but instead tell me like it is exactly how it is.
Pangaea: Rarely do I meet someone so devoted to helping those around him to the best of his ability regardless of the time it takes to do so. He is fun to be around, immensely knowledgeable, and so very kind. When it comes to little things in life, he does not fall into the majority, devoting a good deal of time and effort to make such things as much of a pleasure as he can. I’ve exchanged many PM’s with this man, and it is an honor to associate with one such as he. A heart so pure is a rarity.
LBTDiclonius: Oh, shoot. I’m having one of my epic moments where I draw a blank on the meaning of a word I use all the time. One moment while I look it up real fast.
Wonderful (adjective):
1. Capable of eliciting wonder; astonishing
2. Admirable; excellent
3. People on The Land Before Time forums who go by the name LBTDiclonius
There we go. Glad I got that figured out. Now where was I…? Oh yes. I appreciate LBTDiclonius because of her kindness. No matter what is bothering me, she has this special way of saying just the right thing at just the right time. There have been many times when I was depressed beyond recognition, then we start chatting and in minutes, I’m going, “Ha ha ha! What was bothering me again?” Whether I am sad, angry, or happy, she always manages to suit the situation just right to make our chats as good as can be.
Few people can do what I can. I am able to say, “I am going home,” then make the journey- by going online. I appreciate you all.

LBTDiclonious: I just wanted to thank you for reviewing Lost in a Forest and Always the Same Sun so beautifully. Every time I read your reviews, I blush because it reminds me to never give up.
Pterano: Ya know, before you came along, I couldn't write battle scenes very well. Well I could, but then I look at my writing now and compare it to the battle scenes in Lost in a Forest, I notice that I've improved greatly since Lost in a Forest. If it wasn't for you very detailed story, the Past that Yawns Behind, I wouldn't have improved as much.

Vonboy, for many reasons. I don't think I can really say enough about this particular member. He was the first to welcome me here, and I feel much the same way he does, that we're fast becoming friends. Proofreading and editing his work is always a pleasure, and I can say that his most recent chapters of his fic have really picked up, and are simply amazing reads. I definitely agree that it's nice to talk about life, hobbies, work, etc. Really makes me feel the whole "community" thing here. :)

And I what to give a very, very, very hearty, heart-felt appreciation to Pangaea. He could be off elsewhere in the world, making millions or anything else, but he continues to stay here and be the gm for the "In the Land Before Time" rpg. For that, I am eternally grateful.

I think it's time to give another shout out, and this time, I have a few "repeat offenders", as well as a few new ones as well.
First off, I'd like to give a warm thank you to board member and administrator Malte279. He is still one of the site's best administrators I think, and I want to thank him for hanging in there for a difficult time over the weekend, and still being one of the most amazing, supportive, and overall great friends I've made on this forum. Although I may have started that thread in the Rock Circle, I meant no ill will by it, and I'm glad that the both of us still managed to move past it and remain friends. He remains a good admin, and a fantastic friend.
Nick22 is next, for remaining with me through a very dark and hard time I was facing this past weekend, where my depression was at its worst and I was really struggling with maintaining a hold on myself. They say in a time of crisis, those that stand by you through the worst of it are your strongest friends, and though I never really talked with Nick to any great length before this, he was steadfast and supportive, and helped me through this difficult time, so thank you for never giving up on me, despite my numerous instances of coming close to doing just that.
Brekclub85, for being another one who stuck by me through this time. It was rough, but he also proved to be a good friend in that regard, as he didn't give up either. A strong supporter and a very forceful guy when he needs to be, I think it was nevertheless necessary, and I thank him for sticking by me as well through this rough weekend and few days after.
Vonboy, for again just being a good friend. I must have put him through some stuff this weekend, but he at least kept talking to me, and encouraged me as well, so he gets another shout out from me as well.
Thanks guys, and I'm glad I'm recovered from that. :)

I want to thank Bushwacked and Petrie85 for being excited about my final chapter. That kinda helped push me through the tough typing and describing I was going through.
And I want to thank PanickyPetrie14 for actually chatting with me in the chatroom. Not alot of people go on there for some reason. But he does almost every day. And I couldn't thank him enough for being my friend.
And also, Jrd89, I know I've already thanked him but here's a new thing I want to thank him about. He's been there for me. Always had my back before I had my own. And he stuck with me in the chatroom at night so I wouldn't get bored. Usually, by that time, PanickyPetrie's off to school. And he would stay up til 3 or even 4 am just to keep me company. And he truly helped me when I had to say goodbye to my family back in Tacoma. Out of all the times I had to do that, this time was the MOST emotional. And the night before I left Tacoma, he stayed with me until I fell asleep. He's such an AMAZING, CARING and FANTASTIC friend. And I couldn't thank him enough for just being that.

Jrd89- For creating such a great forum RP, and being a generally good correspondant of mine. He always knows what to say, even if he may say a bit much in one go.
Trulyfantasticme- For being a generally great gal on here. She's great in the forum RPs, great around the forum in general, and always friendly on the chatbox, whether she is using webcam and microphone, or just chatting by text.
Pterano- For creating another great Forum RP, and being a good RPer in it too! Also, thanks for that very positive review of my fanfic. It really helped make me more determined to follow it through and finish it.
In fact, a general thank you and "you're awesome!" to all my readers. It's really helped me keep going with it. As it happens, Mystery of the Blackweeds is indeed one of the most difficult fanfics I've ever written.

Unfortunately I was not on here when the most recent topic in The Rock Circle was started and ultimately locked, so I felt this is the best place to post the following:
Once again, I would like to mention Malte as an appreciated member/admin. I feel he is very understanding of and tries his best to be accommodating of all GOF members as reasonably as possible, and his tendency to remain calm and composed AND be in a position of authority is admirable. I have never seen him get outwardly angry on the GOF or attack other members, even if he ever comes under fire himself. I think all the admins do an outstanding job of keeping the atmosphere of the GOF both peaceful and fun, and since Petrie has retired as the GOF founder, I am sure these guys have more responsibility and greater leadership roles. Of all the admins, it appears Malte has been the most involved in making sure the members are happy and having fun. The downside to being in his position is that he easily becomes the blame for why a change is made that some may not agree with. In other words, someone in his position is damned if he does, and damned if he does not. That's a really hard position to be in. However, he appears to handle it very well, is very tactful when faced with opposing views, and is more than willing to listen to members' suggestions and/or concerns. Many other social networking sites and forums are not so fortunate to have an admin like Malte.
Now, I'm not a brown-noser. What I have to say is honest, and I continue to remain honest with what I have said in this post. Malte carries his administrative position with dignity and class, yet while being understanding of and reasonable to others. That said, he once again earns recognition from me as an appreciated member and administrator :yes.
On a separate note, I would like to extend my appreciation to those who sent me starday wishes and who listened after my dog had to be euthanized. It was really hard for me to go through that, but knowing there are people who will truly listen and understand makes a huge difference. Thanks again, folks :).

Eh saying something nice about someone is kinda hard for me but I do appreciate most of the members who're patient with me. Even tho I can be tough at times. Bare with me on this one okay. I don't mean to be snippy or harsh on people. I thank the forum for accepting me and welcoming me here. I do enjoy the chats in the chat room. It's very nice to talk to the people that do come in there. I know I can be hard and difficult at times. And a Appreciate everyone's kindness towards me. It does mean a lot towards me. And I'm glad that I can be a part of this awesome forum I'm on. It's such a great place for me to be at this time.

LBTDiclonious: I just wanted to thank you for reviewing Lost in a Forest and Always the Same Sun so beautifully. Every time I read your reviews, I blush because it reminds me to never give up.
Pterano: Ya know, before you came along, I couldn't write battle scenes very well. Well I could, but then I look at my writing now and compare it to the battle scenes in Lost in a Forest, I notice that I've improved greatly since Lost in a Forest. If it wasn't for you very detailed story, the Past that Yawns Behind, I wouldn't have improved as much.

I'd like to appreciate one particular fanfiction writer for being the only writer on this board that can actually scare me. Maybe it's just the kind of person I am, or my personal views on Chomper and the LBT universe in general, but reading this particular member's fiction, with his views on the LBT universe, just scares the hell out of me sometimes. Seriously, I found it hard to sleep a few times after reading some of this stuff. I'm talking of course about Brekclub85. I realized this even more after he proposed an RP idea to me last night. We... just don't think ANYTHING alike :lol.
The Friendly Sharptooth, for agreeing to review my secret project (Which I'll keep secret :lol) whenever I get around to finally writing it.
Pterano, for listening to me about that secret project, and helping me by throwing around ideas for it. For wanting to take part in the table readings I'll be starting soon. For continuing to review and proofread my writing. Gosh, I just can't thank this particular member for enough, can I? :blink: Also, just for being a good friend :)

I just have a couple of people to talk about this time:
There are many things I dream about. However, I am not just a dreamer, as I put forth effort towards what I would like accomplished in my life. Being someone who writes (as calling myself a writer seems far too prestigious for an amateur) one thing I’ve dreamed about was finding an artist to bring my work to life, something I failed to do through the words themselves. I’ve come across many artists of highly-developed skill, and I’ve sought a commission lineup from person after person in the order I happened to see them, as I could think of no other method to picking one out. I think it was over a year ago that I began my quest, and at long last, I’ve reached my journey’s end.
I finally asked a member here if I may acquire his services, and to my delight, I received a positive response. I described to him what I would like for round one, and he got to work, busy as he was. I was expecting to be amazed with the end result, so I was surprised, caught off guard, when “amazed” wouldn’t even come close to doing my reaction justice. His talent is so jaw dropping that’s almost hard to believe I’m really seeing what I’m seeing. He carried out my request to the letter, and if I was asked what I would have preferred differently, my answer would be, “…” He truly deservers every ounce of prestige that comes with the title “artist.” Again, thank you Sky for sharing your amazing ability with me.

You know how some people try very hard to be kind? How some people put forth great effort to be patient? Those are very good things, and it’s always appreciated when they take place. However, what truly amazes me is when people do those things without any effort at all, when their compassion and acceptance shine without doing so voluntarily. Some people dig a trench to let their water flow and fertilize their crops, but others have a naturally flowing creek that spreads its benefit all on its own. A member who just automatically radiates a caring heart is LBTDiclonius.
I have been going through a struggle lately, and she has diligently been working with me on it. She alone is sharing my burden, and not a complaint has escaped her lips. I have even asked her occasionally if I should stop at times, but she won’t let me halt my progress until I’ve reached the end, so her replies are always that she is going to keep moving ahead with my toil. I don’t see any more maturity in my communication with her than my adult friends. That is not to say that I align myself with immature grownups- quite the contrary. She has simply shown an aged view, a wisdom, far beyond her years. She knows how to be a good friend in all situations, adapting her tone and words to meet the situation. To say that I appreciate her right now would be a lie. You see, the fact is, from the first time we got to know each other, my gratitude has always been.

As some of you may know, I've had a rather rough week due to PanickyPetrie's disappearance. But it's taught me alot. Like for an example, its better to be worried about nothing than to be worried about something. Like who would want to be worried over thier friend dying and then a week later, only to find out that thier friend has passed away. It would only make things worse, right? Seriously, who wants to put up with that? I sure don't. So anyway, Imma give some members recognition that they truly deserve.
Pterano-For being there for me almost all week. Generally, he's been staying up later than he should all just to keep me company. I just couldn't thank him enough for that. I bet he'd be the coolest big bro ever. :smile
Jrd89-Duh! How can I not include him! He's always been there.

Actually, everyone on the GOF is as nice as my own home. I rarely know them, but judging them by posts and profiles, I found believe they have a taste for happiness.

It's been over two years since I last posted in this thread, so I figure that by now it is long overdue. It seems like this time 2009 was the heyday of my involvement in the Gang of Five... I was reading stories, providing reviews, joining RPs and writing my own fanfiction works on a weekly (occassionally even daily) basis.
Like all things though times have changed. Many of the members are used to know aren't active at all anymore, and still more only post once in a blue moon. A lot of the drive I used to have back in 2009 and 2010 for Land Before Time is gone, with other things in life taking it instead.
Since this will likely be the last time I post in this thread, I'm going to make it count.
I would firstly like to thank Sky for all his artistic contributions to my writing over the past few years as well as the timid and considerate kindness he shows in all of his posts. It is a quality we share, and it is worthy of note that we have never once fought over anything since the day I first sent a PM to his mailbox. Though he can occassionally be tardy with reviews and require a bit of a 'push' to work on his art the results are always worth the wait.
The next member I would like to thank would be Serris. While Far Away Home is my main 'purist' LBT story many of my less traditional stories have been met by him with full support and would never be as developed as they are today. Thank you Serris for your prompt reviews and your enthusiasm about my material.
Littlefoot1616 is kind of like a big brother to me when it comes to writing fanfiction, and his constant support plus honest reviews have helped me know that my work is almost high quality and is actually being read. :) I specifically appreciate that he has returned to writing Battle of the Sacred Essenses too (even though I still have a lot of it to read through yet to catch up) since many of the old writers have dissapeared to the shadows.
So it's finally happened... that is Pangaea has run out of steam :p I could see that the rate he was contributing to the site was unsustainable even back in early 2010, but rather then warn him I simply let things be because everywhere he has been doing so much good for so many. I think it's fairly safe to say that the quality of a review that Pangaea gives is top of the line, and even though he can take months at a time to make time to give it it's always worth the wait. The effort he puts into making other members birthday cards is surprising and (though I am still waiting for mine :oops ) completely appreciated by those lucky recipiants.
Pterano is a member that I don't know too well, but after a conversation about my works and a very well appreciated PM I can see a good friendship forming :angel
To every other member... don't forget to continue to post your appreciated members here whenever you feel the need. I'm pretty sure there is nobody on this board that wouldn't like to see their name here... even if it is for something small. :smile

I see this thread hasn't been posted in for a long time, but there are members, some new, some old, whose everyday activity keeps the GOF an interesting place to visit as well as whose manners keep it clean and pleasant, like it has always been. I will list the members in no particular order.
First of all, I'd like to praise Bruton the Iguanodon. His enthusiasm for LBT and his activity has left a great impact on the forum, reviving entire sections. I for one have almost always enjoyed reading his opinions on many things about LBT, and helping him find answers to his many questions. He had some issues before, but he is working on them. I'm glad that you are here with us, Bruton, and I have mentioned this in chats with other people from the GOF, and they agree with me.
Keep up the good work, mate!
Secondly, I'd like to praise Kacie, or DarkHououmon. Her presence o the GOF could be summarised as "the quiet water tears the hill apart". She has nerves of steel and a heart of gold. She will never lose her temper in an argument, and she is very sensible about people and nature. She's a fine artist and a good MV maker. She is also a fun person to chat to, but I didn't have the opportunity to meet her more often.
Now I would like to mention Cancerian Tiger. This member is more like fire than water, but also very sensitive when it comes to trouble GOF members and other people suffer in everyday life. Her lifestyle should serve as a role model to the rest of us, with her taking great care about her health. She is also a Ducky fan, which is a great plus in my book. :DD
Next I would like to praise Campion. He's not very active on the GOF, but he is a nice person to chat to, very friendly and very open, as he almost always makes the first step.
Finally, I'd like to praise Malte and Pterano. Malte's contribution to the GOF is simply invaluable, and Pterano's is also great relative to his time here.
But what makes these two stand out for me are the chats over MSN. There is simply such a range of topics, from fun to dead serious, their knowledge is so wide and deep, and they are such nice people that a chat with them is usually the best way to end a day and lay in bed smiling. I really hope to meet these people in real life some time.

I'd like to put a plug in for Bruton as well. He's taken some flak in the past for his medley of hyperspecific mini-threads and for some colorful language, but ultimately I find myself reading most of his posts because they reach right to the core of the fandom: LBT and its minutae. This is the forum to talk about the little things in this franchise that you couldn't talk about anywhere else, and he's leading that movement right now in the otherwise-underused LBT sections of this board.
So thanks, mate, and keep up the posting. Some users may be complaining, but you're adding to the unique soul of the forum with every thread.

It has very long been on my to do list to revive one of the most beautiful threads on the GOF. Perhaps it is partly due to the concern of posts in this thread being misunderstood as "no-appreciation to the ones not named" rather than appreciation of the ones who are. This is nonsense of of course. There is a general appreciation for everyone in this community and that apprecition is not going to be any less for the recognition given to to some individuals. In so large a community there is also no helping to the fact that one gets to know some people better than others (for being more active in the respective threads or for also talking via skype and the like) but also end up wishing to get to know others better than one does. Last but not least I am notorious for avoiding superlatives which too makes the picking some of the many tricky. But all that should not sabotage the revival of so beautiful a thread.
I want to thank Iris / Mumbing on the one hand for the awesome job she does as an admin. In the last weeks I have been uncustomarily inactive on the GOF because work for the university, the VHSs (the adult education centers I am working for) and with applications for a real job have been taking up most of my time and may continue to do so for some more weeks. In spite of having an awful lot of work to do herself for her studies and impending exams she has not merely done what had to be done, but also stuff that had (same as this thread) been on the to do list for a while and that required a lot of work (concerning avatar and signature sizes). More importantly yet Iris is and has always been a great friend to me and I'm looking forward to our next meeting.
There are two members who I appreciate especially for being very level headed, calm and reasonable in tense situations which ocassionally occur in threads on sensitive topics in the AM section. Sometimes some members get carried away, sometimes some members present personal opinions as facts sometimes threads run the risk of getting out of hand to the point of requiring staff intervention. More than once have I noticed that in such situations the input of LettuceBacon&Tomato and Cancerian Tiger have contributed to deescalating threads that had a potential of getting out of hand. They both state their views and opinions but they always come across as calm, respectful and beyond letting themselves to be provoked into any kind of tone that would pour gas into the fire of a heated debate. Their admirable attitude is often really helping. Thank you guys for this :yes
Hrvoje / jansenov is a member with whom to discuss and debate is just a joy. It is almost impossible to talk to him without learning something new that you haven't know before and this is something I really, really enjoy. I hope that one of these days we can meet on skype again. I miss our chats very much. There are two other members with whom I have the same impression of often learning from them and who I would love to get to know better than I do so far. Fellow historian and expert especially on maritime and Napoleonic Age history Pterano and also Pangaea who I consider one of the most friendly and concerned persons I ever met on the GOF. I am sure I speak for many when I say that these qualities of yours are so much of a contribution to the GOF that you really should abandon all concerns about not doing enough for the community. :)
There are two members for who I want to appreciate for their frequent and interesting input in many discussions including those on sensitive topics. Kacie / Darkhououmon and Tanner / Cyberlizard both contribute often and with more than mere :add in many threads and help to keep interesting threads going. Moreover they both stand examplary for the many members of the GOF who adhere to the principle of letting people live their lifes in the way that deems them best so long it doesn't hurt anyone. The tollerance, acceptance and even appreciation of ways of live and oppinions different from the own and the opposition to intollerance and stereotyping are in my opinion a very commendable attitute :yes
And there are those who have not been around for a as long a time as those I have named so far but whose activities (beside the appreciation I have for them as individuals) I take as the happy sign that even without any further LBT releases the GOF is not going to go extinct any time soon. There is Ducky123 for example who has brought so much activity to the GOF and whom I appreciate for both, his friendliness and his honesty when it comes to constructive criticism. More recently even MurMur has abandoned the long time silent observing of the GOF and joined in our threads and the day that decision was made was surely a great day for the GOF. I am feeling kind of bad for being so late in the welcome section and for having been too tied up with other work to give my own input to the activity which you brought to the GOF MurMur, but I'm looking forward to getting to know each other better and to long time to come with you and so many GOF members who make this community what it is. :)

It's wonderful to see this thread revived, and I deeply appreciate the mention, Malte. :yes You're someone I've come to appreciate over the years as well, and I enjoy our talks very much. I always have something to learn from them. :yes While I admit, I'm not on Skype as much (I merged my MSN account with Skype) due to them tending to pirate my bandwidth, I look forward to talking with you whenever I can. :)

Further I consider you a very talented artist and fanfiction-writer. Your fanfictions are the best I've read so far and your fanart is evidence for great talent. It's very sad you're so busied with real-life stuff :(
On top of that Malte sent me a lot of useful programs plus some explanation how to use them.
Lastly I extremely appreciate that you took the time to 'disassemble' this chapter of my fanfiction. Although you were extremely busied lately you pointed out many issues which I will fix. Your points sounded so logical that I hardly could disagree with you :DD Your efforts will make my fanfiction better so I want to say 'Thank you' for this.

I’m not sure what surprises me more: that it’s been two-and-a-half years since I last posted here, :blink: or that people are still saying good things about me even though I’ve been so inactive and useless for almost all of that time. :unsure:
On that note, to everyone on the forum who hasn’t completely given up on me; who considers me to be more than the hopelessly lost cause I think I am: thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And, of course, I want to thank Spazzy Sparky (FlipperBoidSkua) for last month’s adventure in San Diego and San Antonio. I’m so happy I got to meet you for real, and I had a fantastic time. :DD You’re just as fun and interesting in person as you are online. :lol Hopefully we’ll get to hang out again sometime very soon. :D
There are two other members with whom I have the same impression of often learning from them and who I would love to get to know better than I do so far. Fellow historian and expert especially on maritime and Napoleonic Age history Pterano and also Pangaea who I consider one of the most friendly and concerned persons I ever met on the GOF. I am sure I speak for many when I say that these qualities of yours are so much of a contribution to the GOF that you really should abandon all concerns about not doing enough for the community. :)
Thank you, Malte. I means a lot to me that you hold me in such high regard, even if I don’t think I deserve it.
Mind you, my biggest concerns aren’t so much that I’m not doing enough for the GOF as that I’m doing a poor job of handling and keeping up with the ongoing commitments I already have (namely the “In The Land Before Time” RP, and giving feedback to certain members).
Pangaea - I'm so nervous talking to him because I know how brilliant he is and just how random and sometimes manic I may sound, but I really appreciate just how patient and just how funny he is.

I'd like to take some time to give out special thanks to some people here, as well as a few shoutouts.
First off, in no particular order, thanks to StrutEggStealer for the absolutely awesome inaugural pics of Norton she drew for my birthday! :DD That was very nice of her, and I love the work she did on them. :smile I always enjoyed the talks we've had off and on over the past few months, and find we have a lot in common and can carry on a conversation pretty well. :yes
Second, Malte279. He is well-read, well-spoken, and a member I have come to appreciate over the years. He stands up for his beliefs, and will always try to come up with good alternate viewpoints, even if those viewpoints might not be the most popular in discussion. He will lay his argument out, present clear evidence backing it up, and always makes sure to tell you why he feels the way he does about topics. I haven't spoken with him in awhile, but he's someone I always enjoy talking to whenever I do speak to him. :yes
Thirdly, Starfallraptor! A surprise edition! Thanks for making the "World of Furry" RP, as I've begun settling into it and it's the most fun I've had in an RP in a long time. I've been away from RPs for awhile, and it's just felt so great to finally get back into one and enjoy what I'm writing. I look forward to RPing with you more in the future!
Fourth, DarkHououmon. She's a great member and contributor to this site, and I always enjoy reading her posts and opinions. She isn't afraid to stand her ground and state what she thinks, and stands up against intolerance in a truly admirable way. It was fun meeting her in person too at MAGfest!
Finally, a special shoutout to Mumbling, Cancerian Tiger, somerandomfangirl, Ducky123, Chiletrek, Mr. Wonk, LBTDiclonius, Blitz, Pangaea, Cyberlizard, and Kor. You're all very nice, considerate, and awesome people, and generally make the GoF a fun place to hang around, in my opinion. :) Some of you I know better offsite than I do onsite, but hey, that's no problem either. You contribute to this community and add a lot to it, so keep up the good work, everyone!

StarfallRaptor Starfall is an excellent rper, from my experience with him, and i consider him a friend on a personal level. he always has ideas for his characters, and when rping with him i try to work them in as much as possible.
JitteryDragon Our resident dragon has recently returned to the forum, and i am very glad to have him back, as his quirky characters and overall hijinks were missed/
Belmont2500 For creating the Emyreil rp, and guiding the rp though a dangerous and action-packed world. and our skype chats are always informative, as those allow me to get a better understanding of you, and vice versa.
Brekclub85 brek is someone who i have chatted with on yahoo for 3 years or so now, and he always has new ideas every night, whether its a comedy, adding in characters from tv shows, and solving mysteries in a Clue-style format
Kor another of my Skype chat regulars, he always listens to whatever i have to talk about, then gives ideas or suggestions.
Jared/Jrd89 jared is another poster i've gotten to know through Skype. while we may not agree on everything, our conversations always are civil and i appreciate his willingness to listen to some of my political ramblings..

Rhombus has joined the GOF less than two months ago, but already whenever I see he posted something I'm very much looking forward to read it. Your posts I have read so far have always been clear, interesting and well reasoned :)
The Chronicler, I have refered in other threads already to your kindness and to how much I appreciate your favor to me with regard to the sesquicentenial of the Civil War, but having refered to it elsewhere is absolutely no reason to not express my gratitude here too and also for your constant presence and positive activity in our community.
LettuceBacon&Tomato and Cancerian Tiger, I may sound repetitive for naming both of you together and both of you for very similar reasons after I have done so before. But since then both of you have continued to show the qualities of level-headedness in sensitive threads and your ability to respect the opinions of ofther while standing up for your own which have been pointed out by others as well. We don't have much contact outside the GOF, but if ever either of you decides to get a skype account I would very much enjoy a chat.
Speaking of chats, I am very glad you Darkhououmon and you Jansenov are being back on the chats again. I had missed you very much during the time when you hadn't been around there.

I'd like to thank Malte and the other admins for having faith in me. Even when they had reason to doubt my character, they analyzed the facts and concluded that I had only good intentions (which was true, but they could have just taken action without double-checking.) All of them run such a tight and fair ship on our forum, and they've done so tirelessly for almost a decade. They've even implemented a forum section specifically for users to input ideas and vote on proposals, something I see very few other forums do. Thanks to each of you for making the Gang of Five the place it is.

Just want to give a quick thanks to Malte279 for the gift I got a few days ago (one of those tin LBT figures you often make, along with a handwritten letter). I honestly wasn't expecting to get anything in return for my (very late) gift from Gettysburg. Even though it's not exactly something I would share with my family (I'm still very hesitant about revealing my interests to them, despite how very understanding they are), I still appreciate the thought behind it. :yes

I wish to thank StrutEggStealer, Ducky123, LoyfeCycleProtector, Chiletrek, Blais_13, jansenov, Malte279, Kor, and Mumbling for being so welcoming to me during my first few months here on the forum. I was a bit apprehensive of joining an online forum but your encouraging words, helpful advice, and interesting conversation made me feel welcome on the Gang of Five. I am grateful to all of you.
I would also like to give a special thanks to Ducky123 for coming up with the roleplay idea that is currently in the planning stages. Ever since I read Brekclub85's fanfic "Sharptooth Valley" I was enamored with the idea of making (or rather commissioning, I have no talent in writing fiction) a fanfic based upon the premise of either Littlefoot or the entire gang being transformed into sharpteeth but still remembering their past lives and dealing with the repercussions of the change. I never considered the idea of actually making a roleplay on the basis of the idea, so I was thrilled when Ducky announced his idea on the forum.
On that note, I would finally like to thank Brekclub85 for writing his excellent story, Sharptooth Valley. Without that story I am uncertain if I ever would have thought of the idea of the gang turning into sharpteeth or mentioned it in the "LBT What If" topic and thus if Ducky's roleplay would ever have been conceptualized. Thank you for the inspiration.

I'd like to add that rhombus has had some incredibly detailed information on many current events that have really helped me understand some things in the real world. Particularly his information on Obamacare and American foreign affairs. Thanks for keeping a very informative attitude on such topics, all of your posts have been very appreciated :)

Wanted to give The Chronicler a shoutout for keeping a ton of different Party Room games alive. He's pretty much single-handedly keeping the entire subforum active, which is no easy feat as most games only have one other random person also playing it. Thanks for being the grease keeping all our wheels turning!
Secondly, a big shout-out to nick22, Serris, bushwacked, Pterano, and StarfallRaptor. We all used to RP a ton before the Into the Black RPs died out, and I've since reworked their early storylines into standalone novelizations I'm hoping to publish. While the books use only original characters and a new setting, I still seeked out each of them to obtain permission as the underlying inspirations from their ideas were clearly still present. And every one of them gave permission without hesitation and have shown nothing but support in the project, which I really appreciate. I'm hoping I can get these books published and they'll serve as a testament to the awesome stories we told together!

Decided to thank some members here as I wanted to say some things about them.
First, I wanted to thank @Mouse-a-saur and @ManOfWar GT for sending entries to my video project, as ever since they sent their entries in, I’ve been making some progress on my project, and I think if I get a few more entries in, it’ll be a perfect project.
I also wanted to thank @HotelValleyfornia for helping bring more life into the forum, since when I log into this forum, there’s not a lot of areas to post in, but ever since she joined, I’ve been coming back to this forum a lot more because of her support, so thank you for that!
And finally, a huge thanks to @rhombus for helping me on my first few days in the forum. Without you, I wouldn’t know where to start in this forum, but I think with your help, I’m very much used to this forum now, so thank you!
