I just got word that Yahoo! is closing GeoCities down later this year, so I decided to save the trouble and get rid of my site now. Don't worry, I've backed it all up, but that now means I don't have a site.  Suppose I could get a Photobucket account in the meantime at least. (Not like I did much with my site over the 7 years I've had it, but still, it was nice.) Anybody know of any free alternatives out there?

Computer and Electronics / Restart problem...
« on: April 03, 2009, 12:17:15 AM »
Okay, I'm plain fed up with this machine every time I turn around. Now it has a problem sometimes wherein it will not kick into restart mode after finishing the shutdown procedure. I believe it happens after the shutdown procedure since the mouse stops moving (I know this is most likely the case, since I once had an older machine with a power button that had to be pushed to turn it off, and XP doesn't display one of those fancy "it's okay to turn this thing off now" screens, since most computers nowadays can turn themselves off...), and after the mouse stops moving, nothing. Normally, it would only take a split second of course, and the system should kick into restart mode. But, sometimes it doesn't. Oddly enough, I haven't had it happen yet when I've chosen "Shut Down," only "Restart." Doggon this is driving me crazy! Having to hold the power button to force it to shut off is NOT good for hard drives! (Another reason why I dislike them...) I don't want to have to feel like I need to check my whole hard drive (corrupted file concerns) after every occurance of this crazy bug, since that takes two hours!

The Fridge / Loss of a loved one...
« on: March 31, 2009, 12:44:15 PM »
Well... I got a bittersweet piece of news today... One of my grandpas died. The one I don't get to see often... At around 7-ish this morning. Kidney failure. I find myself sitting here, in a bit of a shock, but the realization has hit that I never got the chance to see him recently, so close to his passing... And that hurts the most... :( ...Well, he's with Yahweh-shua now, blessed be El Shaddai... :^.^: ...See you up there, grandpa. Bye bye... *sniff*

Computer and Electronics / Router problems...
« on: March 18, 2009, 01:52:44 AM »
Well, I'm probably about the last person anybody expected to see posting here, but I have a genuine computer problem that I need help with. Okay, I just installed a new wired/wireless router yesterday for gram; had to call her ISP and needed help activating it, which is fine. It has a combination of both wired connections (ethernet ports) and wireless... The thing is, it works just fine on her computer; web browsing, MSN, etc.  But, with my laptop, it's anything but pleasant... <_< I'm fortunate if I can get an hour of uninterrupted MSN time before it disconnects, and as far as web browsing goes, forget it! I try to load a few pages, and it cripples the connection... :anger   :rolleyes It makes no difference as to whether I use another ethernet port on the router and hook it up to a wired connection, or use the wireless; it's the exact same result, so there's nothing wrong with the wireless... I did a few tests that way, just to be sure... *shakes head* No difference. So, what's up? Is it something I need to reconfigure on my laptop? (One would think not, since it works fine with my uncle's router at home; wireless or wired, there's hardly a problem at all there...) Austin, I'm looking in your direction. :DD :p Anybody else experience things like this before? :neutral

Note to admins: Yeah, I'm still officially gone, just popping in, etc, etc. :p

Computer and Electronics / More computer problems...
« on: March 04, 2009, 07:55:10 PM »
Okay, I have officially had it with this piece o' junk! Everytime I run chkdsk in read-only mode, it finds a problem with the filesystem; either a corrupted index, free space marked as allocated, or something else, like lost files that it "recovers." But when I run it with full options (/F /V /R /X), which of course requires a restart, NOTHING IS FOUND! I swear, I'm ready to blow this pile o' crap SKY HIGH! :angry

On a side note, I know I'm supposed to be "absent" from GOF for the time being, and for now, I still am.  But this is ridiculous! :anger :angry

Computer and Electronics / MSN and laptop...
« on: February 02, 2009, 10:52:30 PM »
Okay, I have just about HAD it with this stupid laptop...! It's been an uphill battle to get this piece of junk running, and keep it running! Sure, it's my best machine now, but dang, how much crap do I have to go through to get it to work properly??! :mad :anger Now, I can't maintain a stable connection to MSN, AT ALL... I'm doing my best to diagnose the problem, but it's just NOT working, and, I'm ready to throw up my hands! I'm pissed off, and not gonna take this crap anymore! :anger I'm sorry to those of you who talk with me via MSN, but it's rather rocky right now. This transition over to this machine has been one long uphill battle after another, and I for one am so sick and tired of it, that I'm actually contemplating just saying screw it with computers, unless some miracle happens and I'm able to maintain a stable connection. Doesn't seem to happen on my desktop, so why here? Geez.... And yeah, I was serious about the "giving up" part - if I can't fix it, then I'll just say screw it...

Visual Art / Upcoming drawings by NeptuneNavigator2001
« on: May 29, 2008, 12:04:50 AM »
Hoo boy, what have we here?  Has NeptuneNavigator2001 really started picking up the infamous pencil?  Indeed, I have...  Inspired by the LBT fanart of Sky, Lillefot, Nimrod, and Mumbling, I too have decided to take up the hobby of drawing... :D Which, I haven't really ever done, and the last time I painted something, was well over ten years ago...

Now, I don't have it done yet - and when I do finish it, I don't know how I'll show it, as I have no scanner...  My uncle does have one, I think, so I may use that - which would be a much cleaner option than the alternative...  That would be, uhh, taking a picture of it with my dreaded compuer camera, which, if you've seen the picture of me, in my profile - by the way, it's been updated today, to show the length of my hair - or anything else I've taken with it, well...  You would know that this method of image creation wouldn't produce very good results; for me, or anyone... :p

I won't say exactly WHAT it is yet, but, those of you who have been following me closely around the forum, might have a faint idea.  Go ahead and guess, for those of you who wish to!  Oh, and to those of you who I've already TOLD (that would be you, Gustav; and you too, Iris), you are automatically exempt from "guessing," as you already know the answer, and would give it away! :lol  :lol  :lol

...SO...  With that in mind, be patient, ladies and gentlemen! :P: I will show all, in time!  As a matter of fact, when I DO finally start drawing LBT art - which is my ULTIMATE goal - I will post a thread similar to this one, in the appropriate section (Fanart and Fanfiction), and cross reference one with the other, just in case you want to see both "types..."  (As in, putting a link from this one into the other one, and vice versa...)  I promise you, I will ALWAYS edit this post to introduce new links (they'll be hosted on my web site; I can just provide the links to them to make it easier to read) to new drawings - most of which WILL be colored in the end - so that people always know where to go in this topic, when I announce a new drawing. (It's more organized for me to create just one topic with all my potential artwork (or rather, two, because of my ultimate goal) rather than to create multiple topics with individual pieces; it's also a way for others to see everything I've done up to the current time, without having to hunt down multiple topics.) It's a joy to be able to do something like this; I've had some LBT art in my head for a long time now, that I've wanted to do, but, until today, I either never had the courage, or the time, OR the living accomodations, to do such a thing... :^.^:

On that note: Sky!   :DD I'm patiently waiting for your other LBT "how to draw" tutorials!  Then, I'll combine your tutorials with some tips I got from Gustav/Lillefot - actually, this current one IS based on a tip he gave me - and draw the drawing desires of my heart...!

FINAL EDIT: Hmm...  Maybe it would be easier NOT to edit this LONG post and put links up; instead, the first post I make in the future, will be edited to my heart's content, and will contain ALL future links, including the eventual cross-reference to my (eventual) LBT fanart thread! ;)

The Written Word / Frozen Meatsack
« on: May 21, 2008, 06:23:16 PM »
Ehh...  I'm down in the dumps again, kinda...  So, here's another one from me, about my current situation...  Started today, and finished it...

Frozen Meatsack

Twilighted day, covered in
Gray, as the coffee grows
Cold and runs dry. Sipping
Away, staring into space,
As the teardrops slowly
Rise through the pain...
Flowers in bloom, birds singing
A song, can hardly break
Through the lonely feeling
Inside...

BROKEN! CRUSHED! DESTROYED!
The dreams that he'd held,
Since he was a boy...! Taken
Away, like a thief in the
Night, without the knowledge
To put up a fight, abysmal
Shattering, illusion gathering,
Jagged glass frozen in
Time...

Gathering of fragments, and cutting
Of hands, the trail stained with
Red... Painting the icy
Boulevard, with a crimson
Brush, of jaggedly-hanging
Flesh... The pain is all
Too real, exposed to the
Bone... Simply refusing to let
Go...

What have I done? Where
Did I go wrong? Do I
Carry a torch, do I
Sing this song? Or carry
My stake as this nightmare
Goes on, and follow the King,
With a smile painted on...?
Do I cry, do I scream, do I
Pick up the dream?! Do I
Mope around the house, or
Blow off some steam...?
Clutching at my broken dreams...
Jagged pieces, cutting through me...
Looking at this moment in
Time, the red-stained road,
With cracks through the
Line... My home blows up,
And the debris, falls down, through
The shaft of the mine...
In the blistering cold, the
Memories of long, cold...
Time...

Time...

Time...

Time...!

The bells toll on, as I
Wander the cold, clutching
This mass of glass, growing
Old... Walking alone, I carry
My load, drawing a blank,
As I travel this war-torn
Road...

...There is probably a very HIGH chance that I will turn this poem into a song sometime soon.  ...If only I could find the right notes...  I mostly had them, though...  So, maybe it won't be too hard to figure it out...

The Welcome Center / Hello!
« on: April 26, 2008, 08:50:33 PM »
Why, hello everyone!  Wow, I can't believe that there's actually a forum dedicated to The Land Before Time...!  (Actually, I've heard of this place before, but didn't bother to register before, uhh, last month actually.  I guess I forgot about doing so...)  Anyway, I'm quite a fan of this amazing series; I grew up on the first four movies, albeit only in recent times have I come to know of the rest of the movies; the last I'd heard, they'd made a seventh movie (The Stone of Cold Fire), and I had no idea that it was still going...!  Ironically, I got back into it about a month or so before the TV series debuted on Cartoon Network, last year (in the U.S.)...  ...Seeing that something that I grew up on, is still going so strong...  It's the last animated series that's still doing so, a true Diamond in the Brimstone...  (Well, unless you count The Simpsons, which newer seasons have lost their spark.)  It makes me brim with a joy I've rarely, if ever known, a joy that words cannot express nor justify.  There's hardly anything I watch on TV anymore, I can't stand it.  I coined the phrase, for those of us who like the whole series equally without restraint, "pureblood" fans, though I mainly coined it for myself...  It's not meant to be insulting; actually, I see it as a sort of "classification" thing.  I've said it before in a few places on the web, and that's what it means.

Anyway, enough witty banter from an old, young adult with two grey hairs in his beard...  I truly believe that it was destiny that I should get back into it, as it has completely changed who I am; in many ways, I have reverted to a childlike state - in good, mature ways.  Yahweh must be smiling down at me, I guess...  (Ironically, there are certain aspects of so-called "entertainment" that I can no longer handle...)  I simply cannot wait for another movie.  Me wantee, more!

(Hmm; they'd best be explaining how Chomper and Ruby got accepted into the Great Valley, not to mention how they originally met.  Maybe Elsie had something to do with Chomper getting off the island, but that still doesn't fill in the rest of the details; it's even mentioned that Ruby is given the responsibility of watching after Chomper...  There's a lot of important miniscule details that should really be expounded upon.)
