does anybody play eRepublik?
It's not a game in the traditional sense I suppose, it's an online thing you play right in your browser. Instead of the typical hack n' slash stuff though, it's more of an intellectual's game (not that I'm an intellectual by any standard- my buddy just invited me to it
) focusing heavily on politics. The real world map is recreated (North America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and parts of Africa and South America are included). The game is basically all about strategizing and making alliances with other people (countries,governments, etc.) so as to CONQUER THE WORLD! There are elections every month for Congress and President positions in each country- so it gets to be pretty darn serious after a time. (you have to be well known and respected to get in though
)
If you take an interest in the military- there are also military divisions you can join within a country with the ultimate goal of helping your allies and CONQUERING THE WORLD!
If you play already- whose alliance do you play for?
I'm curious to know.
And if you don't play but are interested- I can hook you up with some peeps (sorry I can't help you myself- I'm not exactly as "connected" as some people) who can get you started on the right foot (though of course you will be working for a specific alliance (EDEN or Sol)-because that's about as far as contacts extend. Otherwise we'd all be traitors
