If you were an animal what would you be?

This has been brought on by coffee and boredom.
If a moderator feels that it should be moved to a different section of the forum, please feel free to do so as I was not sure where to put it.

Simple:

If you were an animal, what would you be?

I'd be a platypus....

Does it have to be a real animal, or can it be fictional like a dragon? And, can it be something that is extinct?

Not sure why, but I'd want to be a fox. It might be cause of my current interest in Animals of Farthing Wood?

I supppse, whatever. Although ideally I only referred to non-extinct and non-fantasy animals, but as I said, this thread was made through sheer boredom with little thought into it. Although if posters generally want to write down all three types of animals in these categories, then they are welcome to do so.

I'll go with your original intent. My favorite pet to have around is a cat, so I'd go with that. I used to like dogs a bit more a long time ago, but now I just find cats to generally be a bit more refined. I can jump high, run fast, and and look cute at the same time, heh heh. While my favorite non fictional, not fantasy animal is the water bear, I would hate to live as one. Cats are generally well-loved and they have good eating and drinking mannerisms, unlike dogs, which is more like me. I tend to eat a bit more gently rather than attack my food. I have gobs of cats over here and I just love spending time with them. If I had to be animal, I would love to join their ranks.

I'd pick a cat or some type of feline. I'm quite the cat person, though I don't have any pets.

I'll go with the three categories (extinct, fantasy, and currently living) for the fun of it

Currently living: Either a Grey wolf or a dolphin.

Fantasy: Griffon (half lion, half eagle).

Extinct: Either a threehorn or a swimmer. Although I love the water and would probably be considered "too nice" by the threehorn community, I would like to be able to defend myself and scare off sharpteeth

Well I'd love to be a dragon. But seeing as how these are supposed to be real animals(How do we even know that dragons weren't real?), I'd have to go with a fox. No specific reason, really. I just love foxes. And their tails are pretty cool.

I guess it would be interesting to know what kind of animal we would be if it wasn't our choice but if that decision would be based on our characteristics. Since I recently listened to an audio book (and later watched the movie which had been watered down a lot to make it family friendly and less offensive to some groups) of the golden compass I have been wondering about what kind of "demon" I would get in that world's setting (in which each human has a so called "demon" in animal shape which can transform into all kinds of animals during the humans childhood but takes a final shape depending on the human's characteristics when the human grows up.

Wow! Not sure to be fair coz there are so many animals I really like! If I had to pick a few I'd say either a wolf for land, dolphin for water or for the wkies it would have to be a falcon!
