BTW, I like the theme song. What is it, some kind of African-American chorus?
I don't understand this question. Do you mean... like a gospel?
LOL.
I think what trexmaster meant was that the music was a fusion of American style and African style (similar in a way to the Lion King).
Precisely. I thought the way they sung the opening theme reminded me of an African chorus. Actually, it's probably more African than African-American; maybe it's Afro-Caribbean.

Boy, was I stunned to see the show come out so freaking soon! And Chomper's a regular (how did they explain him getting off the island)!

I have one question: will Chomper's parents appear in this series? They were probably my favorite characters of all the movies. I'd hate to see Chomper isolated from his loving family.

BTW, I like the theme song. What is it, some kind of African-American chorus?

I made a new LBT music video today. It's dedicated to Pterano and is to the song Pieces by Sum 41.

Why do I have a feeling they are going to somehow have a human character in this series?
I doubt it, since the narration at the beginning of each movie makes it clear that humans don't exist in the LBT world.

Actually, I have no problem with the idea of humans in LBT per se, but there is one type of human I would not want at all: cave-dwelling white guys wearing fur togas, also known as "cavepeople". Why, in the vast majority of fantasy movies juxtaposing humans and dinosaurs, do the humans generally look like that? First, I would think that any humans living in a climate warm enough for big dinosaurs would look more like Africans, Amazonians, or some other tropically-adapted people. Secondly, why do the humans have to live in caves? Why can't they live in, say, huts, or even castles? Thirdly, do they need to be Paleolithic? Since humans never lived with dinosaurs at all, you probably can't call it more inaccurate to give the humans futuristic or medieval technology than simple sticks and stones.

If LBT decides to include humans, I hope they use a different type than cliched cavepeople.

1988 Theatrical Release / the Sharptooth's search.

Although a thorny liana hitting my eye would certainly damage it in reality, it doesn't appear to me that the sharptooth's eye received any injury. Several times, later in the movie, we see the eye that got hit open and in intact condition.

Does anybody here know that Judith Barsi, the girl who played the voice of Ducky in the original Lanb Before Time died when she was just 10 years old? It was the most tragic thing I have ever heard of.      A father shooting his own daughter in the head!     Judith Barsi has been abused by her alcoholic, psycho father since she was eight years old because he was jealous of her fame.

I hope that assholic savage is rotting in jail for eternity.

General Land Before Time / Will you let your kids watch this?
« on: August 09, 2006, 06:46:53 AM »
If I ever adopt a kid (I think we already have enough kids in the world, so I don't believe in making more), I certainly would let him watch the movies. Hey, they're better than Barney.

I certainly hope that the series will not be flooded with the elements that don't fit into LBT in my opinion, but are included by many fanfiction writers.
Like aliens, duels with stalagtites, time travelers, and crossovers with other franchises? That might happen occasionally, but I cannot see the people brainstorming ideas for episodes going, "Oh yeah, let's have a horde of ninjas flipping out in the Great Valley, along with a cameo featuring Capt. Jack Sparrow!"

BTW, I've always felt confused about what you mean by "non-LBT elements". Do you mean things that haven't appeared in the series before? That would mean an opposition to the introduction new species of animals, new environmental hazards, or new morals. Or do you mean things that don't make sense in a prehistoric setting? Of course, the "prehistory" of LBT involves an amalgration of flora and fauna separated by time (often millions of years) and space (often thousands of miles) coexisting in the same ecosystem, so the series doesn't seem to care about what would happen in a real Mesozoic setting when it comes to developing story ideas.

Personally, I have no problem with stuff like aliens, time travelers, sorcerers, lizardfolk, or other unusual things appearing in the series. For me, LBT is a fantasy world, so I don't have strict rules on what can and what cannot appear.

Oh by the way, if you intend to run Colossus, Symphonic Gold, or any other multi-GB sound libraries, you WILL need a pretty high-end computer.

Here's what I recommend:
Pentium 4 2.4GHz / Athlon XP 2400+ or higher.  I run a Pentium 4 3GHz and it can keep up with basically everything I've thrown at it.

1.5 GB of RAM (the more, the better.  I run 2.5 GB in my computer, and that seems like enough).  The sounds will play mainly from your RAM, so you need a ton.

Enough hard drive space for all of your instruments.  My two plugins and software add up to nearly 50 GB.  Also, if you can, put each sound library on its own hard drive to help improve streaming playback of each library.  Not ALL sound data is loaded into RAM.  Some is streamed from the hard drive(s) during playback.  This isn't necessary though.  I'm running both my plugins off one hard drive and it works pretty good.
50 GB? I hope you intended to type MB, because none of my hard drives, not even the mostly empty ones, have that much GB.

As for the other specs, well my computer's not the most powerful these days, but it isn't bad and can run some of the newer games (Black & White 2 and Age of Empires III for example) out there, so it isn't unreasonably behind.

Ugh, Colossus sounds too expensive. Guess I'll have to wait until I'm out of my parents' house and I have a source of income.

This is terrific stuff you can do (my favorite piece of music produced by you has to be the tribal version of "Always There"---it has a really prehistoric sound)! What software do you use for all that?

the entire story will be a long and interesting story of two alien races at war and takes there war to earth. The Tricerons (the good guys. resemble bipedial triceratops with armor and laser weapons)
You know, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles once fought with a race of aliens called "Triceratons" that looked exactly like these Tricerons you describe.

They never made a big fuzz about the sharptooth being revengeful about the loss of an eye when he chased Littlefoot through the thorny thicket.
IIRC, he didn't lose any eye. I've seen him later in the movie with both eyes long after the thorny thicket.

Silver Screen / Saddest movie you have ever seen

For me, the recent King Kong movie. Though the last movie in the Star Wars prequel trilogy depressed me a little as well.

What would motivate these villains?

EDIT: Well, to answer my own question, I suppose they could be motivated by revenge against an individual, or like Pterano or The Lion King's Scar, they could desire power.

I certainly do think the sharpteeth need more brains. They've shown great intelligence in LBT 5, probably no less than that of the leaf-eaters, so they deserve a lot more respect.

As for the main question...I would think Littlefoot's the oldest, since he seems more mature than his friends.

ok one thing I don't git is how can Littlefoots mother could have died with just a bite in her back? I mean heck bite me in the back and i'm still good for miles! I'm not teasing the charactor or nothin heavens no. but its kinda strange when you think about it. that wound could have easly healed up. Dinosaurs where alot more durable than the producers of the first LBT movie thought.
That's because we bipedal apes don't have sharp, serrated teeth or jaws that can exert 3,000+ lbs of force on bone.

Well, I do like the sharpteeth and the beautiful backgrounds, though the songs tend to irritate me.
