Princess Calla is the daughter and only child of King Gregor. The Crowned Princess of Dunwyn, Calla was born into a life of luxury and royal comfort...WHICH SHE HATED.

Frustrated by the Patriarchal society she lived in, Calla favored adventure and nontraditional pass times such as archery, staff fighting, and anything else besides the 'Proper and prim' lessons she was expected to take in preparation for the day she would become queen. She would constantly sneak out of the castle. However she often felt alone until the day she met and befriended Sunni Gummi. Although it was during one of the rouge Duke Sigmund Igthorn's many plots to gain control of Dunwyn, the two worked together to escape and as a result became best friends.

Following this, Calla would often sneak out to spend time with Sunni and the Gummi's of Gummi Glean, becoming their second human friend after the Page Cavin. Calla cherished the time she spent with Sunni, as she was able to be the person she wanted to be, instead of the princess her father expected her to be.

Princess Merida is the headstrong and free-spirited 16-year old tomboyish, willful daughter of Queen Elinor, who rules the kingdom alongside her husband, King Fergus. Queen Elinor's expectations of her daughter cause Merida to see Elinor as being distant while also causing friction between the two. Despite Elinor's desire to see Merida as a proper royal lady, Merida is an impetuous girl who wants to take control of her own destiny. Merida has honed her skill in archery, and is one of the most skilled archers ever seen. She is also skilled in sword-fighting and racing across the countryside on her horse, Angus. Despite her outgoing, forceful, headstrong and wilful personality, Merida does have a playful softness of heart; particularly when it comes to her younger triplet brothers, Harris, Hubert and Hamish.

Hello Gang of Five, This Lord Beerus Presenting the first in a Series of Versus matches. For this match up, I am pitting Brave's Princess Merida of DunBroch against The Adventure's of the Gummi bears Princess Calla of Dunwyn. I was inspired to do this by both my recent Binge of Gummi bears and reading this:May the best Princess win.

I was going to originally going to put Merida against Fa Mulan, but given the similarities between Merida and Calla, I opted for this instead.

Round one: Physical abilities.

Princess Calla is is somewhere between the age of 14-16 years old and is an only child, raised by her father, King Gregor. Although Calla is raised to be a well-behaved princess, and often complains about the etiquette lessons, tutoring, riding lessons, wardrobe fittings and boring diplomatic functions that are the realities of her station, she is far more than an ordinary princess.

She is consistently shown performing feats of strength (some aided with the magical help of gummiberry juice, some not).

Her combative skills are best shown in the episode Girl's knight out, which She is shown to be a skilled Archer, who could cut an apple down with one arrow and catch it with another before it hit the ground. And she did it in a practical outfit, no less.

In a jousting contest where the goal was to snag three golden rings on the rider's lance, Calla easily snagged all three rings on her first go, She is also a skilled staff fighter and Proficent with shield and sword combat. All while wearing a metal Gummi bear helmet and torso armor. In another episode where she briefly adopted Cubbi Gummi's alter ego of the Crimson avenger (No relation to the DC character), she dimonstrated some sweet Parkour moves.

In addition to her Physical abilities, Calla possesses a keen mind, both tactically and mechanically. She has stated that she developed her technical prowess by watching the Castle engineers work, though not a combative skill, it demonstrates her keen mind at work, as she correctly advised Gruffi Gummi, a skilled engineer how to correctly fix a Gummiberry juicer he was struggling to fix. In addition she helped him restore a gummi mechanical suit of armor so that she and Gruffi could rescue Gregor from Drekmore.

In short, Calla is not someone you want to underestimate.

Princess Merida is a 16 year old Scottish female who is in very good shape for a female of her era. as a Teenager, she is a Master archer,Master swordswoman, pocessing intimate Forest knowledge, a hand-to-hand combatant, and skilled at spear throwing. Towards the start of the film, she is shown scaling a cliff side that was so treacherous, that her father regarded the accomplishment with high regard.

In short, Merida is a formidable combatant and is not going down without a fight.

OK, to be honest, both Princess Kalla and Princess Merida are both physically fit young women who are easily on par with each other, but at the end of the day, I would say Calla takes the edge. She is shown to not simply out perform Merida, she would do so while wearing a Practical outfit, as opposed to the Dress Merida wears.

Thus, I award the edge in physical abilities to Calla.

Round Two: Tactics and Training.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Princess Calla is a self trained combatant. As her father was opposed to his daughter's combative intrests, Most of Calla's skill comes from her own self-training and possibly sparing with the Gummis. Despite this, She is a master in her own right. In addition, she does not meet her opponent head on, instead, she makes use of the terrain to give herself the edge to compensate for her lack of Formal training. Her Parkour abilities seem to also be self-taught, however she is still a master in her own right.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Princess Merida was trained (albeit in secret), By her father, King Fergus and thus is a master swordwoman, archer, hand to hand fighter, and horseback rider. Despite this, Her short temper can lead her into situations she may not be able to handle, such as her confronting Mor'du, only to require her mother (in bear form to save her)

OK, this one is harder to call. While Calla lacks formal training, she compensates by being quick and cleaver. Merida is the exact opposite. While Merida has formal training, she is prone to making some significant tactical blunders. Therefore, Neither Combatant gets the edge.

Round Two: Tie
_________________________________________________________________________________

Round three: weapons, armor and gear.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Princess Calla utilizes a wooden bow and a quiver of arrows, as well as a sheild, sword and a suit of Gummi armor. The Armor conceals her Identity as well as provide ample protection for her torso without sacrificing much mobility. and she has shown to use Gummi berry juice, which provides temporary super human strength once per day for humans and ogres.

Princess Merida forgoes armor and make use of a more simple royal dress...BUT A FREAKING DRESS NONE THE LESS. this dress offers her no protection what so ever.

She makes use of a Bow, a quiver of arrows, a sword, spear and Harpoon.
_________________________________________________________________________________

OK, I think it's clear where I'm going with this, Merida's dress not only offers no protection, but would hamper her combative abilities. Where as Calla's Gummi armor offers protection without sacrificing much mobility. In addition, Calla's shield gives her additional protection. Even if Merida gets the upper hand, All Calla has to do is drink some gummi berry Juice and she'll turn the odds in her favor.

Calla takes the edge in weapons

Round Three: Calla
_________________________________________________________________________________

Therefore, I declare Princess Calla, the Daughter of Gregor, the Crowned princess of Dunwyn to be the winner.
