Steven slowly woke up and got out of bed. For him, this day would seem like any other. Once he was out of bed, he began his morning routine. With items retracting in and out of the walls, the bedroom turned into a bathroom. After taking a shower and getting dressed, the bathroom items retracted back into the walls and a treadmill came into the room. Exercise was important for his health, so he would run a kilometer every morning. Once he was finished his exercise, a table and chair came up out of the floor. His breakfast was already on the table. Once breakfast was finished, the table and chair retracted back into the floor, leaving the room completely empty. This was a typical home for this time period: the year 12000 C.E.
A display screen appeared in front of Steven, showing him his schedule for the day. He was pleasantly surprised to see that today, he was going on another observation trip to Earth. For him, this kind of day was one of the best ones he could ever imagine. He was always pleased to visit the planet his kind, the Rainbowfaces as they were called by the primitive residents of Earth, had once called home, even if there were some laws he had to follow. Ever since The Great Departure ten thousand years ago, his kind had never attempted to come back to Earth and rebuild their civilization. Their old civilization was never destroyed, just abandoned. It had taken only a thousand years for the forces of nature to erase most traces of their existence on that planet.
Steven turned off the display screen and walked to the only door out of the room. He placed his hand on the scanner and the door opened. He then walked down the hallway to the transportation ships. Just as he had expected, he would be going with his good friend Elizabeth again. However, one thing he found quite odd was that so many other people were also going on observation trips to Earth, about a dozen in total. Although their assigned areas were all different, it was unusual for so many people to go on the same day. He chose to ignore this for now.
Steven and Elizabeth climbed into their transportation ship. It was just barely large enough to give them a comfortable ride, since these ships were designed only for carrying people from place to place. They felt the ship undock and starting to move. They were now on their way back to Earth.

Diver awoke and extracted herself from the pile of siblings she slept in and with. She saw Ducky starting to yawn next to Spike, where she normally slept.
"Spike wake up. Sleepy time is over, it is it is." Ducky said to the still sleeping Spike.
"It'll certainly be not easy to awaken him, certainly not." Diver said.
""Maybe some green food will wake him up, it may, it may." Ducky said.
"I'll go and get some." Diver said and went off to get a few leaves to try to help to wake Spike up.

In his mother's nest Petrie was sleeping soundly till awoken by his mother. "Morning already. Me just go to sleep." He said looking around while yawning a bit it could see it was indeed morning already. If felt like he had just gone to sleep a short time ago.

Mim had awoken earlier and was getting some water to drink near the area where some swimmers slept. She saw Diver heading over towards a bush not to far.
"Having the usual difficulties in awakening Spike?" Mim asked as she headed over to where Diver was.
"Spike is hard to wake up, he certainly is." Diver said.

Rex woke up, it was time for him to go and get himself his morning meal..."that was a good rest..." thought Rex as he got up, "i wonder what crawlers i might find today. Rex began walking through the mysterious beyond looking for something to eat.

Ruby was taking this moment in the morning to enjoy seeing the bright circle rise in the sky, and indeed it was something she cherished. "I suppose something nice it something we all deserve. This valley really is beautiful." she commented quietly so as not to wake Chomper.

However at that moment both Longtail and his uncle Cyrix were coming back from an early morning wall climbing session. Both were tired, but Longtail more than the older and more experienced rainbow face.
"Uncle...can we please, go get some water...I am really thirsty." asked Longtail with a pleading look in his eyes.
Cyrix laughed aloud and nodded his head.
"Certainly nephew...I'll come along with you as I too am in need of a drink."

Cera the threehorn opened her eyes and yawned as she could feel the bright circle on her back. She then looked around to see her father Topsy and step mother Tria still sleeping as well as her little sister Tricia.
"Oh well...guess I'll just sit here for a while longer." she muttered quietly to herself.

Chomper the sharptooth anyway. "Good morning guys," the purple t-rex smiled to his friends.

Elsewhere, in the Mysterious Beyond, Rita, a sharptooth and Chomper's girlfriend, Rory, Myra (Fast biters), and Greg, a belly dragger as well as dil's son were out hunting.
"What are you guys in the mood for?" Rory asked.
"Spiketail," said Greg.
"Threehorn," said Myra.
"Longneck," said Rita.

"Let's get some leaves then to help wake him up." Mim said going over to help Diver gather a few. They gathered a few then Diver picked the best looking one and went over to where Spike was still sleeping, Ducky having tried to waken him up.
"Here, try this." Diver said.
"Thanks." Ducky said and took the leaf. "Look Spike, here is a yummy leaf." She said waving it in front of his nose. He started to sniff the leaf and opened his mouth to try to eat it while asleep. She moved back, turning a bit to make sure she didn't fall on anything. Spike followed, trying to get the leaf and still asleep.

Petrie went over to where the pile of leaves was that his mother had gotten them to eat and started to eat with his brothers and sisters, wanting to get done with quickly so he could go and see what his friends were up to.

Mim ate a few of the leaves that she and Diver and picked, before heading over to where Diver, Ducky and Spike usually slept.

Rex was walking around for a long time in the mysterious beyond..."damn....all this time out here and i still haven't found anything to eat?.....", Rex continued searching anyway....he was starting to feel sick in the gut because he hadn't eaten yet...

Ruby had decided to go get a drink of water before the bright circle was too high in the sky, and as she stepped up to the edge of the nearest watering hole, she spotted Longtail and Cyrix. "I guess a friendly hello would be friendly." she said quietly to herself as she stepped over to the pair.
Longtail looked up first and smiled, "hello Ruby, nice morning isn't it?" asked Longtail.
Ruby nodded her head in response as she heard Cyrix speak as well.
"How have you been Ruby?" asked the older rainbow face.
Ruby answered.
"Alright I suppose. Although I do wonder where Chomper has gotten to, I am supposed to be watching him, and I can't do that if I can't see him."

"I'm right here Ruby," Chomper laughed, getting a sip of water.

Out in the MB, Greg, Rory, Rita, and Myra were hunting. "There has to be food around her somewhere," Myra whispered.

Rex spotted two crawlers that were on a nearby tree, "finally!" he thought to himself, he walked over to them.."hmmmm...not enough to be classed as a meal but...oh well", Rex moved closer to the tree and he ate the crawlers in one bite..."well at least i'm not as hungry anymore...i suppose..."

Steven and Elizabeth continued their ride to Earth. They heard three beeps and looked at the time. They now had ten minutes until they would be on the surface of Earth. Once they were on the surface, they had to follow a set of laws. These laws were set so that the current residents of Earth would never suspect they were a civilized species, especially one that had once lived on this planet. One law was that any and all forms of clothing were not allowed at all during a trip to Earth. Following this law, they began to undress themselves.

Ruby laughed and turned to face Chomper.
"I'm glad you are okay, you had me worried."
Longtail stepped over and asked, "So Chomper have you found any crawlers yet? Cause if not, then I know a good place for some."

Cera was bored so she then stood up and began to wander the valley aimlessly hoping to run into one of her friends before too long. "Why is today so boring?!" she asked herself.

Ali walked along with her mother, towards the Great Valley. ' we'll be there soon Ali" her mother said..

"Not yet," Chomper responded. "Where are some Longtail?"

Once Rex had finished eating the crawlers he proceeded to look elsewhere for something to eat...he wanted to swing by the great valley to see if the leafeaters had any crawlers (lol)

Petrie finished eating and said good bye to his family and flew off, eager to see what his friends were up to and what they would do today.

Mim leaned against at tree and watched the attempts of the 2 young swimmers to awaken Spike. She would help, but didn't want to interfere since they had more experience with doing that then she had.
Ducky held out the leaf as she continued to go forward, glancing back to see what Spike was doing. Spike continued to walk forward while trying to grab the leaf in his lips or tongue.
"Spike, wakey wakey, time. It is wake time not sleeping time." She said while still moving. After a short time she let him get the leaf and he awoke while he was eating.
"Is he often like this?" Mim asked as she walked closer.
"Sometimes, sometimes it is he who wakes me up, sometimes, it is, it is." Ducky said.

Rex was almost at the great valley, he ran across some other sharpteeth although none of them wanted to chat....they tried to eat him so he ran away from all of them

"that was a close one..." thought Rex as he exhaled "whew......", Rex continued on searching for something to eat and he eventually arrived at the great valley. Rex knew one secret entrance into the great valley "can't wait to eat some crawlers! i'm so hungry!" he thought to himself. Rex began his way to the secret entrance...it was on the far side of the great valley, it was covered in bushes and vines, Rex had to cut through the vines and bushes with his teeth "yuck, that tastes terrible!" said Rex as he spat out the vines and the bits of the bush.

Now that Steven and Elizabeth were ready, all they had to do now was wait. The on-board computer would do everything for them, especially their landing site. The benefit of traveling to Earth during daylight was that the sky was bright enough to prevent anyone from seeing the ship in the sky. However, the column of light that results from teleporting to the surface is bright enough to be seen during the day. The on-board computer automatically solves this by finding a location where no one will be able to notice it. As the timer neared zero, the ship approached the landing site. When the timer reached zero, the teleporter activated, quickly sending them down to the surface.
Somewhere in the Mysterious Beyond, in a barren region where there was absolutely no one to be see, a column of light appeared for a few seconds, then disappeared. The two Rainbowfaces, Steven and Elizabeth, now stood on the surface of the Earth. They stood there for a moment, taking in the fresh air. For them, this world was a pleasant place to be.
"Alright, we have one week until we have to return, and I don't have anything specific mentioned on my schedule, so what shall we do?" asked Elizabeth.
"I don't have anything specific mentioned on my schedule, either," said Steven. "Perhaps we could visit the Great Valley again. I would like to meet the brilliant young Longneck again."
"Alright, but remember, there is only so much we can tell them that wouldn't be considered 'telling'," said Elizabeth.
Steven sighed. "I know, I know." Truthfully, he often didn't like following the laws. In his opinion, it was simply enforcing the path his civilization had chosen to take, ten thousand years ago. A path that he believed was the worse alternative to what he thought could have happened, but didn't.

Spike continued eating while Ducky, Diver and Mim were nearby.
"What do you want to do today?" Diver asked Ducky.
"Hmm." Ducky thought a bit before respond.

Petrie was flying above and seeing Cera lowered his height as he flew in her direction. He was glad he had seen one of his friends and it had not taken very long. He wondered what fun thing they may do today. Hopefully not one of those scary adventures the others seemed to really like to go on for some reason.

The pair of longnecks reached the valley in couple hours. Ali relaxed as she saw the valley before them.. " Now to Find Littlefoot CEra and the others" Ali said, smiling..

"We could explore some caves, we could, we could. Or you could finally take us to where your fastbiter friend lives, you could you could." Ducky said.
"Deon? Yes, I certainly could. If you'd be interested. I do know some caves that lead to where his herd can often be found." Diver said.
"Fastbiter friend?" Mim asked.
"Yes," Diver said, "He traveled with my other friends and helped us to find our families who had by then formed a mixed herd. He could follow their smell even when there were not footprints to follow. And we met his herd along the way." Diver said.
"Following the herd looking for stragglers no doubt." Mim remarked, knowing how most sharptooth were.
Diver shook her head, "No, he said his herd eats mainly fish and other things that do not talk. They only eat things that talk if it attacks them first. They don't hunt things that talk. And he knows 3 languages. sharptooth, flattooth and a whistle language." Diver said.
"Whistle language?" Mim asked, interested.
"He said his great grandfather got the idea, and learned flattooth from an old flier friend he met once who told him of other places, including how in the big big water there are swimmers who can talk in a whistle language to others far away." Diver said.
Ducky nods, "Mo could do that. Some others farther away told us how to get to a place where we then knew the way back to the great valley." She said.

"Cera." Petrie called out from where he was flying closer to where she was.

Rex had finally gotten inside the great valley, "...so many....things...that i shouldn't eat.." said Rex as he drooled, Rex saw so many flatteeth that he was beginning to get the urge to hunt...although he had learned to control that urge. he walked around the great valley looking for more crawlers....although he had to hide every few minutes so flatteeth didn't see him and try to kill him.

Longtail smiled at Chomper and said, "Follow me to Crawler Cave! Trust me, you'll love it!"
Cyrix turned to Chomper and Longtail and spoke.
"I'll be coming along, just to keep you both safe."

Rex had been walking around the valley for a long time now...."dang....still no sign of any crawlers to eat.....", Rex' stomach gurgled for food "oh great....now my stomach is gurgling for food....i better find something to eat soon.....i can't hold my urge to hunt forever....but when it comes, i'll have to run out of the great valley so i don't eat anybody!", Rex continued searching for something to eat

Longtail as he turned to walk away his sniffer picked up a new smell...another sharptooth! "Chomper...do you smell that?" He asked just to make sure he wasn't going crazy.

"Yup, I do too, you're not crazy," Chomper said, "But it doesn't smell like my girlfriend."

Petrie shrugged, Cera didn't seem to be in a mood to talk so he flew off. He didn't want to be anywhere near her when she was in a not happy mood. He started to looking to see if he could see any of his other friends to see what they were up to.

"this valley is very big?" thought Rex to himself as he continued searching....another five minutes had passed and Rex had found a hive of buzzing stingers "oh great! yum!" Rex was so happy "i guess waiting all this time has paid off!" Rex walked over and he knocked down the hive and he started snapping at all of the buzzing stingers that came out.

"That herd sounds interesting. I do believe I'd like to meet this Deon friend of yours and perhaps some of the older adults of the herd." Mim said.
"We can go now if everyone is certain they are ready." Diver said.

Once Rex had finished he had a full belly, "ah...that was good" said Rex "now i'm not hungry anymore.....i may as well explore this valley a bit since my hunting urge is gone"

Littlefoot finally woke up in his sleeping nest. He noticed that the bright circle already was rising very high and stretched as he gave a big yawn. To his left side he saw his grandfather, picking up some treestars from a nearby tree. "Goodmorning grandpa", Littlefoot said with tired eyes." The big longneck looked down to Littlefoot. "Goodmorning Littlefoot. Do you want to have some of these fresh treestars up here?" "Sure, I really would like to", Littlefoot answered with a smile and made a jump of happiness. Littlefoots grandfather laughed as he reached for the tree and began to shake it, so that some of the treestars were falling down. Littlefoot began to eat. I wonder what my other friends are doing right now, LIttlefoot asked himself.
Farther away, near where Mim, Diver and Ducky were, Ecco was swimming in the lake. Finally he got out of the water and shaked his body to get rid of it. "Brr, pretty cold this morning.", he said to himself. He then began to walk along to see if any of his friends are nearby.

Petrie decided to fly over to where Littlefoot was and see what he was up to.

Mim got a drink of water. "So what are your plans, decided yet?" She asked Ducky and the others.
"We could maybe explore some caves. There's still a lot we have not looked in yet, there is, there is. and at the same time perhaps meet this fastbiter friend of my little sister's." Ducky said.

Rex began walking at a slow...relaxing pace...he thought to himself "i don't see how these flatteeth find this icky stuff delicious" as he broke off a branch that had leaves on it "i mean...how can this taste better than crawlers and buzzing stingers?"

As Littlefoot was finished with eating he decided to look for his friends, what they would like to do today. So he decided to walk to Ducky¥s nest to see what she is up for.

Petrie flew over to where Littlefoot's sleeping place was and seeing Littlefoot not far flew over to where he was.
"Hello, Littlefoot." He said hovering about eye level to Littlefoot and off to one side, not far from him. "What you up to?" He asked.

"Hey Petrie, good morning", Littlefoot said with a smile. "I am going to Ducky resting place to see what she¥s up for today. Wanna join me?"

Petrie nodded, "Me like that. Me wonder what we do today." Petrie said while still hovering in place.

Ali run in front of her mother, looking around for familar faces. Finally, she noticed Littlefoot and Petrie "Littlefoot! Petrie!" she called out happily, running over to them..

"Who knows", Littlefoot replied. Then he noticed Ali, running over to them. He runned over to her himself and nuzzled her. "It¥s great to see you Ali. How have you been?

Petrie looked over smiling at the sound of a familiar voice he'd not heard in a while. "Ali, me glad to see you. Me no know you in valley." He said.

Rex dropped the branch and he continued walking through the valley, he hadn't been spotted...YET......

Longtail then turned to Chomper and asked, "Well if it's not anyone you know, perhaps we should go find out who it is...you up for an adventure?"

while rex was walking along...he smelt...ANOTHER SHARPTOOTH!, "i wonder who that is?" thought Rex as he continued walking "not anybody i know....i guess i'll have to go and see"

I've been traveling with my mother, Our herd split up after arguments between my mother and the old one. my mother took her group here, the others should be arriving now.." ali replied, licking littlefoot in response to his nuzzling.."The old one knows only traveling from place to place. My mother wants a safe stable place for the herd, and she chose here as the place she wants me to grow up.. " She turned to Petrie. " I just arrived here a short while ago..but I'm going to be here along time..

Rex started sniffing the air with his 'sniffer' too see where the sharptooth scent was coming from. he began to follow the scent.

Longtail continued to use his sniffer as well, hoping to find the owner of the new sharptooth scent he was getting. He looked up for a moment and noticed he and Chomper were heading into one of the many forest in the valley.

Petrie landed on Littlefoot's back, "That good. Here safe." He said nodding, not mentioning that he and his friends tended to have adventures that took them outside the Great Valley.

"that smell is getting closer..." thought Rex "maybe i should head back to the mysterious beyond..." rex began heading in the direction of the mysterious beyond so he wasn't spotted

Petrie, you and your friens have gone outside the valley before. remember when we had to get the night flower for Grandpa Longneck?'Ali reminded him, "i was with you too"

"Me remember. Ducky almost lost then." Petrie said, remembering that event & how it was the first time Spike had said anything.

Well hopefully we won't have to do something like that again " ali said.. " so where are the others?"

"Me only see Cera but she look upset and no want to talk. Me no see others till Littlefoot." Petrie said.

"I don¥t know either. We were just heading for Ducky¥s nest to see what she¥s up for today. And that you are staying here are indeed very great news.", Littlefoot said with a smile.

"maybe i'll hide over here" thought Rex as he sprinted over to a large bush, although....this did make some noise..."damn...i made noise...." Rex sat there quietly so that nobody could hear or see him.

"We 3 go to Ducky's nesting place together?" Petrie said. "It be fun." he said, glad to see Ali also.

the sharptooth scent was getting closer...

"Lead the way Petrie" ali nodded..; Littlefoot and I will be right behind you.."

"Ok. Me lead." Petrie said. He then launched himself into the air and kept his flying speed about that of Littlefoot's walking speed as he lead the way to where Ducky and her family slept.

The sharptooth scent wasn't as strong anymore so Rex got up from his position and he began walking at a slow pace away from the scent

Longtail was certain that he smelled another sharptooth, and now the scent was moving again! "This is getting fun! Like hunting...cool." he whispered to himself...at this point he wasn't sure if Chomper was still following him or not, but he was now intent on finding the source of this new sharptooth scent, and he continued to creep towards where his sniffer was taking him.

Rex heard something move in the bushes behind him, he turned around, "who's there?" said Rex in flattooth slightly frightened

Longtail stepped through a few more bushes and then stopped as he heard a voice. He looked around for a moment and then poked his head through the bushes and came face to face with the scent he'd been following...
"H-hi..." was all he could think to say hoping the sharptooth he was facing wouldn't try to hurt him.

"Who are you?" asked Rex puzzled "you don't own the scent i could smell?"

(ooc: Not sure if you wanted some time to pass or not before they arrived at where Ducky's parents nesting place is.)
Petrie flew along, leading the others to where Ducky 's parents nesting place is. "It close, we there soon." He said to the others behind him. "Me be glad to see Ducky again." He said.

"Are you another sharptooth?" Chomper asked Rex.

"You guys smell anything?" Greg asked, using his sniffer.
"I do, and it's something I haven't smelled before," Myra explained.

Longtail took a moment and checked Rex's scent, and nodded his head, "Well even if you weren't tracking me...your scent was the one I was following alright. So...uhhh...what's your name?" he asked as politely as possible

The two Rainbowfaces, Steven and Elizabeth, had just reached a small stream. They had been walking for over an hour now, so they decided to stop here for a few minutes to rest and get a drink.

"I think I can smell rainbowface," said Greg.

"er.....yes, i'm a sharptooth and my name is Rex" he replied "what's your name?"

"I wonder my friends are and if they have plans, I do, I do." Ducky said.
"Maybe we can go and look for them." Diver said.

OCC: Up to you Kor, you are leading.
IC: Littlefoot began to remember the things he has been through with Ali and his friends before. It are good and bad memories. But both did make him smile. As Petrie said that they are close the memories slowly disappeared. "Good news Petrie. I hope they were able to wake up Spike yet", Littlefoot said as he chuckled.
(OCC: What do you call parcour in the great valley? Oo)
Meanwhile Ecco was doing his training he does every day. He ran in a big circle around the valley. He always tries to include as much jumps, for example from rocks to rocks, and swims like possible in his run. That will keep me fit for many years, Ecco thought as he smiled.

Petrie continued to lead them to where Ducky's sleeping area was. "Ducky, Spike." Petrie called out once he saw her and continued to fly over to where she was. Spike made a sound that was his way of saying hello.
"Petrie, I am glad to see you, I am, I am." Ducky said, "Did you come alone?" She asked looking, then she saw Littlefoot and Ali.
"Littlefoot and Ali here too." Petrie said landing near where Ducky was.
"Seems most of the gang is here then." Mim said from where she was, over near the water getting a drink.
"Hello Petrie." Diver said waving.

Longtail nodded his head and replied.
"My name is Longtail. Nice to meet you Rex. What brings you here into the Great Valley?"

Cyrix was still sitting near Mim and could see that most of the friends Littlefoot usually hung around with were together and it made him smile.

"nice to meet you too" replied Rex "when i came here i was lookin' for something to eat"

"so, what do you do here in the great valley?" asked Rex curious

OCC: Parcour like jumping from house to house or making flips and such things
IC: "Hello Ducky and the others.", Littlefoot said with a smile. "I have good news for all of us here. Ali is going to stay in the great valley, isn¥t that great?", LIttlefoot asked with exitement.

Ducky smiles happy at the news, "That is good, it is, it is." She said nodding.
"Me agree." Petrie said nodding also. "Very good."

So all we have to do is find CEra" Ali said, with a smile. " do any of you know wghere she is?

"Me see her, but she no in mood to talk when me see her before." Petrie said.
"Maybe she is in the mood to talk now, she may be." Ducky said.
Diver nodded, "It is certainly possible."

As they set off to find cera, Ali fell in behind Littlefoot, and was in front of Spike..

"She might be, yes. Let¥s go and look for her", Littlefoot said. "Sometimes she just needs others who start a conversation", Littlefoot said with a chuckle.

Petrie flew, leading the group to where he had last seen Cera.
"She may just need others to help cheer her up or get her to talk, she may." Ducky said from Spike's back where she and Diver were riding.

So why is she in a bad mood" Ali asked.. Cera often got in bad moods,, from her experience with her.. but she might have a reason for her mood..

"Cera always in bad mood." Petrie said.
"Except that 1 time she had been soaking in the warm mud at Tria's mud pit place. She was in a good mood." Ducky said, remembering the incident , "Though she did not stay in a good mood for very long, no she did not."

"Well, most of the time she pretends to be in a bad mood to look tough. But, well, I think I know some tricks how to get her out of her bad mood", Littlefoot said with a smile.

"She over here." Petrie said as he then flew over to where he had seen Cera last.
"Maybe she is feeling better now." Ducky said with some concern.
"I certainly hope so." Diver said. Mim decided to remain quiet for now and not say anything, but follow along to see if anything was up, but far enough back to give the kids some privacy also if they needed to talk.

Hi Cera' Ali greeted her warmly. " Its good to see you again.. its been awhile since we've seen each other.."

"It is good she is here, it is, it is." Ducky said nodding.

Cera had been in a bad mood but she'd quickly fallen asleep where she'd stopped walking to eat earlier that morning and she was startled awake by her friends arrival, giving a quick and mild scream as she rolled onto her back.
After taking a few breaths she stood up and wasn't sure she should say hello or shout at everyone for waking her like that...but in the end she decided it would be best to be polite.
"Hi Ali...it has been a long time hasn't it. So how have you been, and more importantly when did you even get here?!"
Ruby stepped forward and smiled.
"She's been here for as long as her herd has Cera. You should know that." she said with a giggle

Cera's scream startled Petrie who flew to hide behind Littlefoot's neck.
"I think it is good that Ali is here. I hope she does stay this time, I do, I do." Ducky said.
"It would be nice. I think it certainly would, from what I heard about Ali. " Diver said.
Spike used the opportunity to start to eat on a nearby bush.

Well, I just got here a little while ago" Alu replied. " As it only me and my mother and a few others.."

"At least it is some." Mim said from where she was, "Better then just you alone." She said.

"And best thing is, Ali will stay this time. Here in the Great Valley", Littlefoot said happilie. After Ecco was done with his training, he decided to go to some others and see what they are up for. He sniffed in the air and tried to find out if he could smell a familier scent. He indeed smelt one. It was Cyrix. But there was another unfamiliar scent as well. He decided to go and look for them. Hmm, maybe a newcomer?... I¥ll see when I¥ll get there

"Isn't that good news Cera? I think so, I do, I do." Ducky said nodding.

After taking a few sips of water from the stream, Steven looked around at the landscape. "Hard to believe this place looked a lot different ten thousand years ago," he said to himself.
"Yes, that is true," replied Elizabeth. "Even harder to believe that most places on this planet were also very different back then. But that was all in the past."
Steven sighed. "True. But the Great Departure could have been avoided. I just wish there could be a way to go back in time so we could prevent that terrible event, perhaps even make the world better for all dinosaurs and not just us."
You and your fantasies, thought Elizabeth. She was used to hearing him speak like this.

"Me agree." Petrie said nodding from Littlefoot's back.
Mim walked over a bit closer, "Have you and the ones you came with picked out a sleeping place?" Mim asked Ali.

Cera smiled brightly at the good news.
"Oh wow...so you're really staying here in the valley for good Ali? That's great!" she exclaimed happily.
Ruby smiled as well.
"Well Cera something good always something good."
Cyrix decided to simply wander the valley for a short time, but had come back to the watering hole and was now sitting down again, just enjoying the quiet and peaceful nature around him.

"Now we can all celebrate and have fun." Ducky said, cheering a bit and waving her arms happily.

"So what do you guys want to do now?" Diver asked looking around.
"Something fun." Petrie said.

Lets go play by the waterfall' Ali said. ' Any other ideas .. I'll be happy to hear them.."
-
"It sounds like it can be fun, it does, it does." Ducky said nodding.
"It Certainly does." Diver said.
Spike was happy to go along with the idea since he thought he could remember the location of the tastiest plants near the waterfall.
"I wonder if Deon has ever played in a waterfall." Diver said thinking.

"I think I can smell rainbowface guys," said Rita.
"I haven't ever tried rainbowface before, let's follow that trail," said Myra.
Greg and Rory agreed, and the 4 friends followed their sniffers. Those rainbow faces weren't too far away now...

"Are there any water falls where he lives?" Mim asked.
"Not that I know of. Though I certainly have not seen any. Nor have I explored all of the area where he lives." Diver said.

"So tell me, why are you so fascinated about going to the Great Valley?" asked Elizabeth.
"Like I said, I would really like to see that young Longneck we met last time we were there," replied Steven. "He has quite a brilliant mind, one I don't think the planet has seen since before the Great Departure."
"Need I remind you of the things we're not allowed to tell anyone while we're here?"
"I am well aware of that. However, I can't help but consider what he might think if we did tell him about our kind's past. Now, what was his name again? I think it was Littlefoot."
The two Raibowfaces were unaware that Rita, Rory, Myra, and Greg had just reached the area. Fortunately, the Sharpteeth had come close enough to hear them only when Steven said that last sentence, so he had not accidentally done any 'telling'.

"Finally, some food," Greg grinned, seeing the rainbowfaces. He and his friends heard them say Littlefoot's name, but they thought nothing of it.
"Let's get em!" Rory grinned, and the 4 sharpteeth started running towards the rainbow faces.

"Though there certainly is a lot of water and lots of fish in it. I have not seen so much water in 1 place, till we got to the big water that tastes bad and had to stay till the Great Valley recovered. & we met Elsie. There certainly was more water there then is where Deon lives not far outside the Great Valley." Diver said.
"Interesting." Mim said.
"We going to waterfall?" Petrie asked as he looked at those present.

Elizabeth heard footsteps quickly approaching. She looked back and saw four meat-eating dinosaurs quickly coming towards them. They were only kids, but it didn't make the situation any less dangerous. "Incoming!" she shouted, before running to the stream and wading across it.
Steven then noticed the young Sharpteeth running towards him. He could have crossed the stream with Elizabeth, but he thought that might not be enough to avoid these predators. He picked up a large branch that was on the ground near the stream and, using it like a club, whacked the first one to reach him (who happened to be Rory) across the head, sending the young Fast-Biter down hard. Steven held up the stick at the remaining three Sharpteeth and said, "Who's next?"

"Agh!" went Rory, hitting the ground. Myra ran to his side.
Rita and Greg didn't make a move, they didn't want to risk any of them getting killed.

"That is a good question, it is it is. We can go the the waterfall or do something else." Ducky said.

Although he still held up the stick in self defense, Steven was actually touched when he saw Myra run to Rory's side. According to what he was told, Sharpteeth and other meat-eating dinosaurs once managed to peacefully coexist with all the other kinds of dinosaurs, but after the Great Departure they went back to their primitive ways, even losing the ability to speak or show feelings. He was now seeing proof against the long-thought-true belief that Sharpteeth no longer cared for each other. One of them was hurt and another was clearly worried for the downed one. If they could care for each other like this, perhaps they might listen to reason.
Steven lowered the stick and said, "No matter how much I could hurt you, it just isn't in me to kill another creature, no matter what their intentions are. I am very sorry I had to hit you like that, but you didn't give me any other options."
Elizabeth had been watching the whole thing from the other side of the stream. She though Steven was crazy trying to reason with the young Sharpteeth, but then again she was seeing proof that Sharpteeth could still care for each other.

"It's ok," Rita replied in flattooth, her knowing the language.
"Ugh...that was hard," Rory grunted in pain, getting back up with Myra's help.

Cera smiled.
"I think we should play toss the seed."
Ruby chuckled.
"But Cera whatever team you are on always wins! That wouldn't be fair as we have to be fair to win." she commented to the threehorn.
Cera simply stuck her nose in the air but continued to smile.
Cyrix after a short nap had risen again and was now simply walking in a random direction hoping to come across someone to speak with...but he continued to smile and enjoy the valleys continuous beauty and even stopped to have lunch, eating several leaves on a branch.

Longtail finally snapped himself out of his trance as he looked at the cave he'd promised to take Rex to. "Here we are! Crawler cave! Filled to the very end with crawlers of all types." He turned to Rex and smiled. "So go ahead and dig in...you too Chomper!"

"All right!" Chomper grinned, digging in.

"So which so we do? Go to the waterfall or play toss the seed?" Diver asked.
"Or do we play near the waterfall or here?" Ducky asked.

Longtail laughed lightly as he watched Rex and Chomper dig in. He had to admit...he was pretty hungry too and decided to join them as he picked several crawlers off the wall of the cave.

Ruby smiled.
"I think we can do both! Go to the waterfall and still play toss the seed, just in the water...it would at least make the game a bit different from the one we usually play."
Cera's smile seemed to brighten at the thought. "That's a great idea Ruby! What do the rest of you guys think?" she asked aloud.

"Bugs are so yummy," grinned Chomper.

"Please don't hurt me or my friends," Rita said.

"It may be best to pick a tree seed that can float so if someone drops it we do not need to go diving for it, it may it may." Ducky said.

Sure we can play toss the seed.. I played it a bit, although with rocks instead of seeds" Ali said.. "Should we split into teams?"

Steven was surprised again to hear that these young Sharpteeth were able to speak and understand what he was saying. Regardless, he maintained his calm attitude. "Worry not," he said. "So long as you pose no threat to me or my friend there, I have no reason to harm any of you."

"Who should go on which team?" Ducky asked.
-
"So....should we be going now?" Rita asked Steven.
-
Ruby looked at those present and said, "Girls versus Boys? Would that work?"

Longtail stepped up behind Rex and asked, "So how do you like Crawler Cave?"

"That sounds like it could work, it does, it does." Ducky said nodding.
Diver looked at those present, "Would it be totally fair, as far as numbers and sizes go though?" She asked.

WEll, we could just pick teams, although I'm not sure that would be fair" Ali replied.. "who wants to be captains..
-
"Maybe we can try the girls versus boys to see how it works, we can." Ducky said.
Diver nodded, "We can certainly redo it and choose teams or something if we find out it does not work." Diver said.
"Petrie not sure what." Petrie said shrugging.

Steven wasn't exactly sure what Rita meant by what she had just said. "Is there a certain place you are going to?" he asked. "You know, if our destinations happen to be similar, perhaps we could travel together. It might make the journey less dangerous for both of us. My friend and I are going to the Great Valley."
Elizabeth finally decided to come back across the stream. She could tell Steven had the situation under control by now. She also noticed he was still holding the large branch, perhaps as a precaution.

"Um...we were just walking around, trying to get some food, we weren't heading to any specific place," Rita responded.
-
"So shall we get started or shall we just do something else?" Diver asked looking at those present. Mim went over to sit down and slowly munch on a leaf.
-
"i love this place!" said Rex as he finished eating a mouthfull of crawlers "i'll never feel hungry again!...........so what should we go do after this? it's not everyday i meet other sharpteeth that can speak flattooth."

Ruby smiled as she asked, "Well, even before we start to play, perhaps it would be best for us to get to the falls first, and we can decided the final choice of teams on the way."

Longtail laughed at Rex's comment.
"Glad you both like it. As for what to do, I say we just go exploring...and if we happen to see any of my friends, I'll be happy to introduce you to them!"

"That is an idea. Let us try it and go there." Ducky said.
"We may get ideas along the way or once we are there." Diver said nodding.
Spike was eating and wondering what they would decide to do and if they would do it in an area with tasty food nearby.

"okay, let's go" responded Rex with a smile

"As Deon would say, let's run there right now." Diver said smiling at the memory of her friend and started to run off towards the falls like he would have done.
"Wait for Petrie. You no beat Petrie." Petrie said taking off and flying towards the falls also.

Longtail was about to turn around and walk out of the cave when a smell he recognized caught his attention. "Hey, Rex and Chomper do you smell that?" he asked as he stepped towards a hole in the wall that wasn't covered in crawlers.
Cyrix stood on the outer wall of the valley wondering about the stories and tales he'd heard from different herds about how horrible it was. He took a deep breath and sighed. "It doesn't seem so bad from up here." he said to himself.

Ruby smiled as she followed after Petrie and Diver hoping to meet Deon.

Ducky started to run after her sister, climbing onto Spike after she had run a short distance and they both ran after Petrie and Diver who were running towards the previously mentioned falls.
Mim got up to follow behind the kids, wondering what they may be up to, and wondering who this Deon was that she had heard Diver mention before from time to time.

Rex sniffed at the air.
"i've smelled that before?........it smells like........rainbow face!"

Diver arrived at the falls just before Petrie who landed beside her.
"Not we here what we do?" Petrie asked looking around after he saw where they were.
"Wait for the others is certainly best I think." Diver said.

Steven thought for a second. "If you want to, you're more than welcome to come with us," he said. "The Great Valley is not that far away from here. Perhaps I could help you catch some, uh, water swimmers. Obviously, there are none to be found in this stream here." He wasn't sure if today's dinosaurs, especially Sharpteeth, were still aware of words like "fish", so he said "water swimmers" instead.

"Thanks," Rita said. Rory, still holding his head from the whack, was a bit unsure, but the thought of food sounded good.
-
"I certainly wonder when they will get here." Diver said looking around a bit.
Petrie flew up a short distance to look for their friends and see how far back they were.
"Me see spike." Petrie said.
"Some of have arrived, we have, we have." Ducky said, with Spike making some agreement sounds.
"That is good, at least some of us have arrived." Diver said.

Ruby stepped up behind Ducky and smiled.
"I am here too, but I think we should wait for the others." She then asked Diver, "So where is your friend Deon?"

Longtail smiled at Rex's comment.
"That's probably my uncle Cyrix! But I wonder what he's doing way out here?" He shook his head. "Come on, let's go surprise him!" he said with a laugh.

Diver looks up to see where the sun is, without looking at the sun, but to get an idea of what direction is which then points, "he lives with his herd in that direction, just outside the great valley near a large body of water with lots of fish and some water that flows into and some that flows away from it." Diver said.
Petrie shivered in fright, "Th..th..that mysterious beyond." he said looking around in fear and and expecting the mysterious beyond to pounce out at him.
"Some of that area is not mysterious to me, and they are nice & friendly fast biters. Since my friends and I helped Deon to get to them they made us members of their herd before they led us to where our families were." Deon said.
"I remember the story you said, I do, I do. Don't we Spike." Ducky said to Spike who nodded with his mouth full of green food.

Steven apologized again for what he did to Rory. "I assure you that if I had been given the chance, I would have asked questions first then decide whether or not to hurt you. Like somebody once said, 'Speak softly, and carry a big stick.' Even in this hostile area, that saying holds true."
When Steven noticed Elizabeth look at him with disapproval, he said, "Don't worry, as long as they don't know who said that saying, we don't have to worry about it." He said it quietly to her so the others couldn't hear him.
Steven then spoke up again. "Alright, I'll just get a drink and then we'll be on our way." He went to the stream and took two sips of water. He was about to take a third when he noticed something at the bottom of the stream. He grabbed the pebble-sized object and washed off some of the dirt to get a better look at it. It's color and high reflectivity made it obvious this was made of gold. What made it unnatural was the fact that it was shaped just like a coin. Taking a closer look, he noticed that engraved on one side was two swords crossed over each other. On the other side was the head of a Rainbowface looking to the side. Based on the type of helmet this Rainbowface wore, he guessed that this coin dated back to the Age of Exploration, about five hundred years before the Great Departure.
This was a remarkable find. If only he was allowed to tell this to anyone instead of just to Elizabeth...

"Um...ok," Rory said as the group was ready to leave. He was still a little upset at steven.
-
"When was the last time you saw him?" Mim asked, having heard part of the conversation, but was resting off to one side away from the others.
"When the night circle was last full." Diver said, leaving out the details of her friends and herself sometimes sneaking off to visit with Deon's herd at that time for a while.

Elizabeth noticed the object Steven had just found. "Promise that you will not let anyone else see that, okay?" she quietly asked.
Disappointed, Steven sighed and quietly replied, "Alright, but I'm going to bring it with me. Something like this deserves further studying." He closed his hand around the gold coin so that it wouldn't be seen. He then spoke up. "Alright, let's get going."
Steven had only taken two steps when Elizabeth yanked the stick from his hands and tossed it aside. "It's probably best that you got rid of that stick. That poor Fast Biter is probably scared of you for what you did."
"You're right. Besides, I don't think we really need it anymore."

Rory was relieved to see the stick be tossed aside.
Rita wondered what the rainbowface had found, but decided to forget about it for now.

Mim nodded, "That was a while ago." She said.
"I did not know you still saw him sometimes, no I did not." Ducky said. Spike was paying very slight attention to the conversation and had wondered off a short distance to start eating the leaves of a tasty smelling and looking bush.

Longtail was as quiet as he could be, and as he rounded a corner he was right...it was indeed his uncle Cyrix standing on the ledge ahead of them. He looked back to Rex and Chomper and said quietly, "On the count of three we'll jump him. He'll never know what's coming!"
Longtail took a deep breath and counted up to three and he jumped hoping his friends would follow.
Cyrix however had no clue what was coming his way and was extremely startled when he heard a playful scream followed by three bodies colliding into him sending them all over the edge of the rock ledge.

Diver shrugged. "Maybe we can explore some caves, though there are some here I know that lead outside the Great Valley, and close to where his herd lives." Diver said, having used certain caves to travel there before.

Ali followed the others. " So where exactly are we headed?' She asked. "She knew her way around the Mystterious beyond, her herd had once lived there... 'Does anyone know..

"Gotcha," Chomper nodded to Longtail.
-
Ruby looked at Ducky and Diver and smiled. "I like the caves here in the valley, so exploring could be a good thing!"
Cera scoffed.
"Some boring old caves....but fine, if it'll give us something to do today I'll come along too...so who's leading the way?" she asked.

Cyrix landed on his belly and sighed knowing his nephew had something to do with his fall down the hill. "I do hope you and your friends are not hurt Longtail?" he asked with an air of concern.
Longtail simply smiled at his uncle.

"Does someone want to lead the way?" Ducky looking at her friends and the others present.

"so why did you want us to scare your uncle anyway?" asked Rex
-
Cera stepped forward and said aloud, "I'll lead us of course! After all we threehorns are the bravest so it's only natural!"
Ruby giggled at Cera's outburst but decided that it would be for the best if they followed her lead anyway. "Well a leader should lead the way." she commented as she stepped next to Cera with a smile.

Longtail looked back at Rex and smiled as he replied, "We did that 'cause I was bored!" He then laughed lightly.
Cyrix smiled at his nephew and stood up once he was sure the children were okay. "well, since we're all here let's go exploring. What do you little ones say?" he asked Rex, Chomper and Longtail.

Diver and Ducky nodded.
"That sounds best, it does, it does." Ducky said, knowing it best to agree to let Cera lead.
"that is certainly a good idea. " Diver said. Knowing that from what she had heard and experienced about threehorns it was best to agree with Cera.
-
Cera lead the way through the caves, and after a while began to get nervous as she couldn't find the way out..."uhh...I'm not too sure about this...but I think we're lost." She cringed as she admitted her problem.
Ruby smiled as she stepped next to Cera, "I think there is a split in the path up ahead, perhaps we can search when we get there. Does that sound like a good idea?"

Longtail nodded his head at Cyrix's idea. "Yeah! That sounds like fun..."
Cyrix nodded and replied, "Then please stay close you three...I know a path around here, but I don't want any of us getting lost."

"One may lead outside, it certainly may." Diver said.
Ducky nods, "But outside into the Great Valley, or the other outside." Ducky asked.
Mim decided to go into the cave after the kids, just to be sure they didn't get lost.

"sounds great!" said Rex as he grinned

So we pick a path an go with it, then " Ali repl;ied. giving Cera a look.. "Don't you remember being here before cEra?

Diver decided to lay down on Spike, thinking the debate may take a while so why not get in some resting.
Mim continued walking along the cave behind where the kids had been.

Cera nodded to Ali and smiled.
"I think so...we'll go right! Anything to get us out of these caves." She then proceeded to walk forward still taking the lead.

Cyrix lead the way down the path, but after a while he stopped for a moment to look at the sky to see how high the bright circle was. It was about mid-day.
Longtail at that point began sniffing the air as he picked up a scent..."I smell...sharpteeth..and....rainbowface? Together...this is odd...maybe we should go check it out!"

"It will be good to get out of these caves, it will it will." Ducky said looking around as they continued behind Cera.
"At least it is not to dark, that is certainly good." Diver said, getting back up and sitting behind her sister.
Due to the pause Mim managed to get up to where the gang was.

"sure!" said Rex "let's go!"
-
Steven and Elizabeth continued walking to the Great Valley with the group of young Sharpteeth. Steven thought about what he had learned today just by communicating with these Sharpteeth. Curious, he asked, "May I ask you young Sharpteeth a question? I was always told that no Sharptooth was ever capable of speech, yet you prove those beliefs wrong by speaking to me. How did you learn to speak so clearly?"

"We've listened to leafeaters speak before," Greg explained, "And soon we got the hang of it."
"And for the record," Rory continued, "ALL sharpteeth can speak, but it's a language only other sharpteeth understand."

Mim continued though she had now caught up to where the others were, she stayed in back.
Diver started to whistle as they continued walking.

Chomper sniffed the air. "This smells familar," he noted.
-
Ducky started to hum along to the tune to Diver was whistling.
"You've been here before?" Mim asked.
-
Longtail looked to Chomper. "So you know who these scents belong to?" he asked aloud.
Cyrix continued walking, albeit slower than before he came across a scene he didn't want to see, still unsure of what or who was around.

Ruby smiled as she mentioned. "I can feel the wind...we must be close to the exit."
Cera smiled as she proclaimed, "See...told you I knew the way out!"

"My friends," Chomper realized.

"Then we should head on out, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said nodding.
"Outside may be certainly more pleasant then being in here." Diver said.

Longtail looked back at Chomper and asked a little confused, "You have other sharpteeth friends? I didn't know that."
Cyrix chuckled softly at his nephews comment as he replies, "Its not impossible Longtail, you should know after all."

Cera took three steps out of the cave....and screamed in frustration.
"we're in the Mysterious Beyond...AGAIN! I hate this place!" she said in anger.
Ruby however simply smiled.
"Well Cera you wanted out of the cave, and now we are out...so I for one am happy."

Ducky looked around, "We are out of the cave, we are, we are."
Diver nodded, "That is certainly true." She said agreeing with what her sister said.

Ali followed the others out of the saves, the mist of the Land of the mists swirled around them, even in midday. She had travelled through here several times.. " where to now?' She asked.

"Any friends you guys know here we can visit?" Diver asked looking around.
"Or any interesting locations?" Mim asked.

Littlefoot had followed his friends silently. He had been busy thinking about how great it was to have Ali back in the Great Valley, and this time for good. He looked at everyone he was currently with and noticed that one of his friends wasn't here. "Has anybody seen Chomper today?" asked Littlefoot. He looked along the great wall and, off in the distance, he saw Chomper, along with Longtail, Cyrix, and a sharptooth he had not seen before. "Hey, there he is."

Suddenly a rustle to their left caught Alis attention. Soon a green longneck appeared out of some bushes. he stopped as he saw the others. " Hey, LIttlefoot! cera! gfuys! Its me, Shorty!" He suddenly smiled. "I went off from Bron's herd in order to find the Great Valley. Am I close?' He asked,.

"Why don't all of us go over and see what Chomper & the others are up to?" Mim said looking in the direction of where Littlefoot was looking.
"Look it is Shorty, it is, it is. "Hello." Ducky said waving and happy to see Shorty again.
"Hello." Diver said waving, having heard her sister talk of Shorty but not having met him before.
Mim smiled and waved, "Hello, Shorty is it?"

In the meantime, Guido was flying or - to be more accurate - gliding above the one particular spot of the Great Wall. The one thing that was interesting about this place was that the warm air was raising up from the ground, which in turn helped Guido with gliding. All he was doing now, was to fly in circles and observe the surface...

Cyrix turned his head for only a moment and smiled when he did as he could clearly see Littlefoot standing not too far away, which he then waved and began walking towards the young longneck and his friends.
Longtail wasn't too concerned where his uncle was going, just so long as nothing bad happened, he followed along silently.
Ruby however beamed with joy as she'd begun to worry about Chomper having not seen him since this morning, and it was beginning to show. "CHOMPER!" She called aloud.
Cera laughed as she faced Ruby and asked, "You were worried about him!"
Ruby of course returned the comment by saying "Of course I was...I am supposed to watch him so he doesn't get hurt!"
Cera rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry Ruby I just forgot is all."

Ruby's shout caught Chomper's attention. "Oh hey Ruby," she smiled.
-
"Let us go over there where the others are." Ducky said.
"Maybe they are going to walk over here." Diver said to her sister.
While the others were deciding if they'd go there or the others would come here Spike thought it a good time to eat a bit of a snack.

Littlefoot was a little surprised when he saw Shorty suddenly arrive. "Shorty? What are you doing here?" He then heard Shorty say that he had wandered away from Bron's herd. "Why would you want to come here without my dad or the rest of the herd?"

The two Rainbowfaces, along with the young Sharpteeth with them, were now getting close to where Littlefoot and the others were.

While observing the ground, Guido noticed a group of his friends standing in some clearing below him. "Hey! It's Littlefoot and the others. Lets go to them and say 'hello'" he said to himself, diving towards the surface. Everything went smoothly, but suddenly Guido noticed that ground was closing too fast (or he was, as the case might be). He tried to pull up and he succeeded, partly. He was gliding in parallel to the land, but at so high speed that landing would be very hard for him. However, he landed sooner than he anticipated and it wasn't so painfull experience, as he hit someone and that someone looked much like Littlefoot...

"What was that? " Ducky asked seeing the blur that was Guido but not able to see who it was since she could not see it very clearly yet.
"I certainly don't know. Some sort of flyer I think." Diver said looking in the direction of the movement.
Mim and Spike looked in the direction of the movement, not sure what it was and Mim not saying anything for the moment till she had more information.

Ruby saw something gliding towards her friends and not knowing it was Guido she rushed forward.
Cera still surprised by Ruby's burst of speed shouted "HEY! Wait for us at least!"
Cyrix was next to run forward wanting to make sure the others were safe and upon closer inspection he noticed who the blur reminded him of..."Guido" he whispered to himself.
Longtail flew behind his uncle hoping that nothing serious was going on.

Rex followed the group "wait up!"

"It does seem quite a few came out of the Great Valley." Mim said aloud, half to herself.

Littlefoot saw the teal Glider coming down from the sky and was unable to move out of the way in time. As soon as he realized who it was, he asked, "Guido? Are you alright?"

Spike, carrying Ducky & Diver went over towards Littlefoot, the 3 of them hoping things were ok. Mim stayed back a bit to see how things transpired before she went closer.

"Are you ok Guido?" Chomper asked.

Greg saw some fish in the nearby river. "Can we take a food break?" he asked the rainbowfaces.

"I am not sure. I feel a bit dizzy..." Guido responded "Do I look alright?"

"Maybe better you sit and rest for a bit." Mim said. "It should pass after you've rested a bit. " Mim said as she walked over closer to where the others were.

"Alright, go ahead," said Elizabeth to Greg's question.
Steven could see the Great Wall was not that far away now. "Make it quick," he said. "We're not that far from the Great Valley now."

The 4 sharpteeth nodded and quickly had their snack.

"Guido, it is you?" Ducky asked.
Spike went over to greet Guido in his own way.
"How is everyone?" Mim asked, wanting to make sure how everyone is.

Cyrix stepped over with a smile as he noticed Mim.
"Hello again Mim. Nice to see you are doing okay." He then looked over to Guido and replied, "Yes Guido you look alright to me."
Longtail grinned as he saw the rest of his friends. "How are you guys doing?" he asked.
Cera scoffed and looked over at Longtail.
"We're doing fine...I just got us out of a cave that had two ways out!" she bragged.
Ruby giggled at Cera's statement and stepped forward extending a hand to help Guido get up off the ground. "A helping hand can be very helpful!" she commented with a smile.

"It is good that we are all together. It is it is." Ducky said smiling happily while she nodded, happy to see everyone here together.
Mim smiled to Cyrix, "and it is good to see you as well." She said smiling to Cyrix. Then turning to look at Guido. "I'm glad that he's ok. Looked like he may have hit pretty hard." She said.

"Oh, thank you, Ruby." Guido said, grabing a hand and standing up. He stretched his wings to check if he had broken anything, but luckily they were quite fine. Then, he glanced at others and saw that there was few creatures he hadn't seen before.
"I am sorry for hiting you, Littlefoot." Guido said to Longneck, "Hmm... Could I ask who your new friends are?"

Littlefoot accepted Guido's apology then introduced him to some of his friends that Guido probably didn't know about, like Longtail, Cyrix, and Mim.

After the four Sharpteeth finished their snack, they and the two Rainbowfaces continued heading to the Great Valley. About a minute after they resumed walking, Steven noticed at the base of the Great Wall a group of dinosaurs, most of them kids. Some members of this group seemed familiar to him.
"Hey, do some of those dinosaurs over there seem familiar to you?" asked Steven to Elizabeth.
"Why yes, I believe they do," replied Elizabeth.

"nice to meet you." Mim said waving to Guido.
"My sister has certainly talked about you. It is certainly a pleasure to meet you at least." Diver said nodding her head.

Longtail nodded his head as Littlefoot introduced him.
"Hello Guido nice to meet you."
Cyrix also waved to Guido and smiled.
"I'm glad to hear you are alright."
However Cera rolled her eyes as she said, "Yeah that's great can we go now...we're in the Mysterious beyond, and I don't know if you've noticed, but this is where the sharpteeth tend to live!"
Ruby giggled.
"Relax Cera, we are with friends and that means we should be safe no matter where we are."

Rex stepped forward "hello" he said

"Hey Chomper," Rita waved, "Are these your friends?"
"Yup, they are," Chomper nodded.
"Guys, this is Rita, the fast biters are Rory and Myra, and the bellydragger is Greg. They're my pals."

The young Sharpteeth had been so happy to see Chomper that they ran towards the others as soon as they saw them. However, the two Rainbowfaces, Steven and Elizabeth, maintained their current pace.
By the time they joined the others, Littlefoot immediately recognized them. "You again?" he asked, a little surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I think we should be asking you children the same question," said Elizabeth. "This isn't exactly an ideal place for a morning stroll."
"Well, you see, we were exploring the caves and kind of got lost."

Cera beamed however as she stepped forward and said, "Yeah, but I lead us out of those silly caves!"
Ruby giggled again and stepped forward extending a hand to Rita, "Hello my name I Ruby, it is very nice to meet you. After all any friend of Chomper's is a friend of mine."
Cyrix looked surprised to see other Rainbow faces, and asked "You two look..familiar...do I know you from somewhere?"
Longtail smiled and walked over to Rory and Myra and smiled.
"Hi, how long have you guys been out here?" he asked innocently.

"Oh, we've been here for just a few minutes," Rory responded.
Rita shook Ruby's hand. "It's nice to meet you too."
Greg's belly rumbled. Being a belly dragger, he was naturally more hungry more often then the rest of his friends.
"Is there anyone here I could eat?" he asked absent-mindedly yet innocently.

"Hello. It is nice to meet you, it certainly is." Diver said.
Ducky shrugged, "We were exploring some caves and here we are." She said. Spike meanwhile was looking around for some food.
"I didn't know many fastbiters knew flattooth." Mim said.
At Greg's dialog Spike got an unsure look on his face. "Maybe you could eat some fish. Deon's heard eats mainly fish." Diver said.

"So, what are you doing here?" asked Littlefoot to the Rainbowfaces again.
"Oh... just a pair of travelers passing by," replied Steven. Last time they were here, they traveled with a herd of far-walkers. Things didn't turnout so well, which is why they chose to come alone this time. "Anyway, my friend is right, you kids shouldn't be out here. Allow us to help you get back to the Great Valley."
"Are you sure you know the way through the caves?" asked Littlefoot.
"Not really. But you know what they say: nothing tried, nothing gained."
Then something very strange suddenly happened. A chill went up everyone's spines that was very noticeable. "That felt... odd," said Steven.
"You felt that too?" asked Elizabeth. "A chill up your back?"
"Yes."
"I felt that too," said Littlefoot. "What do you think just happened?"
"To tell you the truth... I actually don't know."
None of them knew it at the time, but the world as they knew it had just changed forever.

"I felt it too," Rita commented.
"Freaky coincidence," figured Rory.

Mim shivered, "That was, strange, strange indeed."
"Is it the cold time already? It is to soon, it is, it is." Ducky said shivering and looking around.
"I do not think it was that, I certainly do not. But what was it?" Diver asked.
"Me no know, but me scared." Petrie said shivering and doing his best to hide from whatever the scary thing was that made him feel that chill, cowering and hiding a bit of his head in his wings.
Thinking it was a cold wind Spike stopped his eating to look around to find if's source or if there would be another.

Longtail's body stiffened and for a moment he didn't move or even breath.
Cyrix shivered and looked around.
"What exactly was that? It's too warm for a cold wind around here...at least it is now."
Ruby looked to the sky, as she replied, "Some things we can't explain we just can't explain."
Cera scoffed and shook her body in reflex action.
"Whatever it was, it had better not happen again."

Petrie continued to cower a bit in fear, hiding part of his head with a wing. "Maybe it wind from giant invisible flyer in story uncle tell once." Petrie said.
"I have not heard of that story. No I have not." Ducky said.
"A giant invisible flyer?" Mim said, some doubt in her voice.
"Yes, or breath of invisible sharptooth. Where the invisible flyer flaps only cold wind. Or invisible sharptooth, you can feel wind of breath but never see him. Then him snatch you." petrie said getting more afraid. "uncle tell story."
"I've never heard of any invisible things, not flyers or sharpteeth. Maybe it was a story to told for fun and of a real event in the past." Mim said.

"maybe him just follow us to eat later since he no hungry now." Petrie said.
"I do not think there is any invisiblebe sharpteeth, no I do not." Ducky said to Petrie.
Then to Shorty she said, "She's Ali." Ducky said.

"Well, regardless of what caused that odd chill, we still need to get you kids back home," said the male Rainbowface, Steven. "You said you came here through that cave, right?"
"Yes," replied Littlefoot. "I think I know which way to go to get back into the Great Valley."
"Then I say lead the way."
Littlefoot then walked into the cave. Steven and Elizabeth followed right behind him.

"We should get back home too," Rita added, "Our parents are probably worried about us."

"That is a good idea, it is, yep, yep, yep. What do the rest of you think?" Ducky asked.
"Certainly." Diver said nodding. "If they worry to much they may get mad if you show up late or after to long."

we do need to get back home" Ali agreed. "I'm Ali" She said warmly to Shorty.. "I'm Shorty.. Littlefoot's my brother well adopted brother.."

Ali turned to REx " Hi, I'm Ali, whats your name?' she said giving hiim a friendly smile..

"Hello there, I didn't see you till now." Diver said, "How are you doing?" she asked.

Cyrix smiled.
"Well hello Rex, it is nice to meet you." he said with a calm tone. He then turned to Steven and asked at a whisper, "If you don't mind me asking, why haven't you come back sooner?"
Cera sighed aloud as she turned around and said "I should be leading the way back...after all I got us here."
Longtail simply walked next to Littlefoot with a bored look on his face as if he wanted something exciting to happen.
Ruby chuckled.
"Oh Cera just let Littlefoot lead, he's good at it, so let him do what he does best." she said with friendly smile.

"I'm Rex and hello to you too" responded Rex to Ali, Diver and Cyrix. "so....what do you guys do for fun?"

Guido was trying to follow others, but they were visibly qicker than him.
"Um... Guys? Could anyone of you give me a ride, please?" he asked a bit sheepishly "I don't travel very fast on the ground level..."

"There are many things we do to have fun,, there are exploring, looking at sky puffies, hide and seek, swimmer and splasher, log running for 2 footers, story telling, and other fun things also, " Ducky said to Rex
"Maybe you ride Littlefoot, Cera or Spike." Petrie said, since those were the folks he and Ducky most often rode on since they could not move on the ground as fast as the larger 4 footers.

"sounds great!"said Rex "what is the log running game? it sounds like fun"

"It is where 2 footers run on a log in the water for as long as you can without falling off." Ducky said. "I made it up myself, I did, I did." She said nodding.

" i reckon i could do well at that " said Rex "it sounds easy"

"It is done in shallow water so no one really gets hurt if they fall and anyone in the water can stand up in it easily." Ducky said.

You can ride on my back " ali said kindly to Guido, stopping and waiting foor him to climb onto her back. " as for what I do for fun.. well, since I travel a lot, I usually don't have much time fir fun..

I like causing pebbleslides' Shorty grinned. theres a lot of pebbles by where Dad is.. so I make them slide a lot.."

"Thank you, Ali." Guido said, climbing on longneck girl "I ca't say I like playing log running or splasher or any game involving going in the water. After I get wet it is hard to glide for me, if not impossible." he said, after he got on Ali's back "But watching log runners can be fun too." he added.

Longtail grinned.
"Well at least I know I can beat Petrie at the Log Running game."
Cera scoffed aloud as she replied, "Oh please Longtail, you can't beat me and I hurt myself the last time I tried to play!"
Ruby just shook her head and continued to walk with the others knowing this conversation could last for a while.
Cyrix couldn't help but smile as he watched the children speaking about the games they played. The Log Running game being rather famous among the small group of younglings.

"Maybe we can do different things so no one is left out." Ducky said.
"That is a good idea, it certainly is." Diver said.
"Indeed." Mim said nodding.

"That Log Running game sounds rather interesting," commented Steven. "I think I might have heard of a similar game, but with a different name."
As they walked through the cave, Littlefoot went around a corner and immediately stopped. "That's odd," he said. "I don't remember this part of the cave looking like this."
The cave ahead seemed as if it had been split away from the part behind then and the two parts moved in opposite directions. This gave the appearance of a transform fault, shortly after an earthquake.
"I think an earth-shake might have caused this," said Littlefoot.
"I'm not sure about that," said Steven. "If an earth-shake caused this, it had to have been so powerful that we would have easily felt it, which we didn't." He then decided to touch the recently-revealed rock along the "fault line". This made the mystery even stranger. "Come here and feel this," he said to Elizabeth. "This rock is smooth... too smooth... unnaturally smooth."
Elizabeth touched the rock. "You're right," she said. "There's no way any fault line could create rock this smooth."
"Something doesn't seem right," said Steven to himself.

Cyrix stepped forward and asked aloud to Steven and Elizabeth "Would you like me to go search up ahead to make sure everything is safe?"
Longtail was concerned but was certain that everything would be made clear very soon.
Ruby and Cera exchanged glances but said nothing hoping not to interrupt the elders conversation.

Ali paused in looking at the rock, with Guido sitting on her back.. : I haven't played the loggrunning game myself : She replied to Guido. " Why do you think these roocks are so smooth? She asked.

As they started to head in Ducky nodded at Steven's comment,"Maybe you can try the log running game." She said.

"Is something wrong?" Diver asked.
"maybe bubbling fire come through here." Petrie said.
"I do wonder what is up." Mim asked. "This cave has changed to fast for natural means without us feeling something. I don't see how a cold breeze could have made this cave smooth." She said.

"What could this mean?" asked Littlefoot.
"I'm not sure, young one," said Elizabeth.
"Well, there's no use following this fault line to see what else could have been affected," said Steven. "We're underground, after all. I suppose our only option is to continue through this cave and see what else might have happened."
As they crossed the "fault line", the cave looked like any other cave, except it didn't seem the same as it was when they had just been here only an hour ago.

Rex walked over and he too felt the unnaturally smooth rock "somethings not right here..." he said "i have a bad feeling about this..."

"Something has changed, but we do need more information before we can start to reach any possible conclusions." Mim said.
"I wonder what happened, I do, I do." Ducky said a bit worried.

Rex sniffed the air and he turned to Chomper "hey chomper, you smell that?"

Curious by the Sharptooth's comment, Steven decided to sniff the air. If it wasn't for the historical simulators he had been through many times, he wouldn't have been able to identify the strange smell. He knew what it was, but didn't want to believe it.
"What is it?" asked Elizabeth.
Steven whispered in her ear, "Light air pollution, most likely from a city."
"But that can't be possible. Can it?"
"Only one way to prove or disprove it." Steven then saw the exit of the cave. He decided to pick up the pace, followed by Elizabeth, then Littlefoot and the others.
As soon as Steven got out of the cave and saw the Great Valley, he was speechless at what he saw. When Elizabeth saw it, she was just as shocked as he was and could only say, "That's not possible." When Littlefoot saw it, he was more shocked than either of them.
What they saw was not the Great Valley, but a city. A city that hadn't been here for thousands of years. Since they were on a big hill at the Great Wall (which had barely changed), they could see the downtown area (the center of the "Great Valley"), which had many tall buildings. One building was much taller than all the others, and was shaped like a steep-sided pyramid (imagine the Transamerica Building in San Francisco, only twice as tall). Outside of downtown, the city was different. There were smaller buildings, along with many parks, seen from the hill as large patches of green land. At the edge of the city were many suburban houses. There weren't many of these houses near the hill. Up on this hill there was one street that passed by in front of them, but it looked like it hadn't been used in years.
"What happened?" asked Littlefoot, still very shocked.
"I don't know," replied Steven. "I just don't know."

"What.......on......Earth.....is.....this?!" Rita gasped, wide-eyed.

Petrie looked at the sight, "What this? Where Great Valley? Where others?" He asked as he looked at the sight in surprise and shock.
"I do not know Petrie." Ducky said as she looked around at what she could see in surprise. "it has changed, it has, it has."

'uhh....guys...what just happened?" asked Rex
-
"I do not know. I certainly do not." Diver said looking around in astonishment at what lay before her.
"I am also puzzled. This sort of sudden change should not be possible. A change of this magnitude should take considerable time to do." Mim said, wondering what had happened and how it had happened so fast.

Cyrix was just as confused and stunned as everyone else and for a moment stepped back not wanting to believe what he was seeing.
Both Cera and Ruby were standing stock still with their mouths agape not willing to make a sound as they continued to stare at what they assumed was their home.
Longtail however simply blinked several times, and then due to his impulsive nature ran forward and flapped his wings letting him ride the wind. He then turned and said aloud, "If we want answers we'll have to find them!"

"Is it really a wise move to just run into a new place one has no knowledge of?" Mim asked not sure about going somewhere without getting some information, even if only from looking, first.

"I guess we have no choice," Greg agreed.

Elizabeth panicked when she saw Longtail start flying around on impulse. "Hey! Get back back here!" she exclaimed. "It's not safe for you to be running off on your own in a place like this!"
"She's right," said Steven. "I highly recommend that we all stay together."
"What are you talking about?" asked Littlefoot. "Do you know about this place?"
Steven sighed. "I guess it's no use hiding the truth now. You see, this is what the Great Valley looked like... ten thousand years ago."
"Really? Then what happened? How did it change? Why has it suddenly changed back?"
"I can answer all but the last question."
Elizabeth then shushed everyone and said, "Do you hear that?"
Steven listened closely and heard a whirring noise. He look up in the sky and what he saw confirmed his suspicion. "It's a helicopter," he said. He then looked closely at where it was going. "It looks like it's coming right this way." He turned to Elizabeth and said, "Listen, why don't you take the others and wait inside the cave. Let me deal with this."
"Why should you do all the talking?"
"Because I'm the historian around here. I know how to properly communicate with people from different time periods."
Elizabeth was about to say something in protest, but hearing his reason, she simply said, "Good point." She then asked everybody to come with her and wait inside the cave.
Steven then headed to the nearby empty parking lot and waved his arms in the air, hoping to convince the pilots in the helicopter to land nearby so he could talk to him. It worked, because the helicopter began to come down and eventually landed on the other end of the parking lot. As the noisy rotors slowed down, he approached the helicopter, which he noticed had the word "Police" on the side of it. As soon as he stopped near the helicopter, the pilot opened the side window and said, "Alright, explain yourself. What's going on here?"
Fortunately, Steven was prepared, because he had the perfect story in mind to make the situation sound very convincing to these police officers.

Longtail almost screamed as he saw the helicopter coming right towards them and he immediately did a 180 turn and flew straight back into the cave without a word spoken.
Cyrix looked around for a few more seconds before turning and helping usher the little ones back inside the cave.
Ruby turned and replied, "Being safe is better than not being safe." as she stepped back into the cave.
Cera didn't speak as she too stepped further back into the cave trying not to be seen by the approaching helicopter.

Mim helped get the other younger and smaller ones back into the cave and looked at the entrance. "I wonder what that thing was." Mim said a bit curious.
"I hope it is not a flying sharptooth, I do, I do." Ducky said.
"Me see no teeth or mouth. Or wings." Petrie said. "How it fly with no wings?"
"I certainly do not know." Diver said on Spike's back.
Spike ran back into the cave once he saw the helicopter, being sure Ducky & Diver were on his back as he did so.

"...i'm probably the oldest here apart from the rainbow faces and even i'm scared..." said Rex forcing a grin

"We'll have to wait and see how it turns out. I'm sure it'll turn out ok." Mim said smiling a bit to the others, trying to keep them calm.
"I hope so, I do, I do." Ducky said, a bit of her nervousness in her voice as she held her hands close together and looked a bit worried.

"i hope everything is okay.." said Rex "i don't want to be chased by a giant flyer..."

Mim walked over and patted Rex gently on one of his shoulders. "I'm sure it won't come to that. I'm sure Cyrix will fix things up and gain some knowledge we all need." Mim said.

"Are you referring to my friend?" asked Elizabeth to Mim. "If you are, his name is not Cyrix, it's-"
She was cut off by the noise of the helicopter rotors speeding up. She looked towards the helicopter and saw it began to take off. As it was taking off, Steven was heading towards them, carrying a small stack of folded clothes.
Elizabeth sighed and asked, "What's the news?"
"First of all, those police officers were kind enough to provide us with some simple clothing," said Steven, as he handed a white t-shirt and a pair of short pants to Elizabeth. "We may be in this city for a while, so it's best that we try to blend in as best as we can. It may not be much and we may get a few odd looks, but at least it's better than nothing and getting the kind of look you certainly wouldn't want. The same goes for you two as well." He handed the same type of clothing to Mim and Cyrix, leaving him with one more set of the same clothes for himself.
"What about the rest of us?" asked Littlefoot.
"You're not Rainbowfaces. Therefore, it's not necessary for you wear clothes," replied Steven. He then spoke up to everyone. "Alright everyone, listen up. Just so that you are all aware, what I told those police officers is something that would sound very convincing to them, so it's not the complete truth. Whenever anyone in this city asks about us, we are going to tell them the same thing I told those officers: We all live in the Great Valley Wildlife Preserve somewhere outside the city, and the reason they've never heard of it is because we're from the future and that place doesn't exist yet in this time period."
"Those officers actually believe that we're from the future?" asked Elizabeth, skeptically.
"They said they wouldn't be surprised if that was true. Some strange things had been going on today for them too, and by them I mean the entire city. I had requested that we speak with the mayor about this. The officers agreed and called for a bus to take us there. It should arrive sometime soon."
"What's a 'bus'?" asked Littlefoot. "Who's 'the mayor'?"
"The mayor is the person who is in charge of everything that happens in a city. That is why I requested that we speak to him instead of some other person. A bus is something that allows a lot of people to quickly go from one place to another without having to walk. One of them should arrive soon to take us to City Hall, where we will find the mayor."

"so does the mayor boss everyone around?" asked Rex "i doubt that anyone could boss me around, i'll just show them my sharp teeth, if i did that they wouldn't want to boss me around anymore... heh heh heh". Rex grinned

Mim nodded, "I guess a mayor is something like what Grandpa Longneck and Threehorn were in the Great Valley we're from. & if we're going to be here long we all will need some basic teaching on certain basics, you may know what sort of basics and I do agree. We do need at least one person from here to know where we're from." Mim said. Mim looked at the clothes, not sure what they were or exactly how to put them on but she thought she understood how to from looking them over, though she'd watch how Steven and Elizabeth put on the clothes before she'd put the clothes she had on.
"Why do rainbowfaces have to wear clothes?" Ducky asked?
"and why not the rest of us?" Diver asked.
"Mayor scary person like Cera's dad or sharptooth?" Petrie asked hoping whatever a mayor wasn't a scary person.

"We can do that too," Chomper added to Rex's comment.

"so what should we do now? wait for the "bus" ?" asked Rex
-
"That sounds best, and while we wait perhaps the rest of us can get some very basic information that we may need." Mim said, looking at the Steven and Elizabeth as she said the last part.

Cyrix finished slipping on the clothes he'd been given and stepped forward.
"Yes, waiting for the 'bus' would be the very best idea if we want to blend in." He then turned to Longtail and gave his nephew a stern look before speaking. "Don't do anything reckless or dangerous while we're here. We are guests in this place and until we know more about it you will do your best to represent our home....is that clear?"
Longtail stayed quiet and nodded solemnly to his uncle.
Cera grinned and gave a soft laugh as she watched Cyrix speak to Longtail.
"Serves him right for being so stubborn all the time!"
Ruby sighed and said to Cera, "You know...being stubborn is usually how someone is raised, and that includes you."
Cera just scoffed and moved over to Elizabeth and asked, "What do we do once we've been picked up by this 'bus' thing?"

"so what sort of basic information will we need here?" asked Rex

"Should we tell them?" asked Steven to Elizabeth.
"Well, we can all see a city from the 21st Century," replied Elizabeth, gesturing towards the city. "I don't think it's worth keeping our knowledge a secret from these children anymore." She sighed.
Steven nodded. "Alright everyone, let me tell you a brief story of our history. A very long time ago, the Rainbowfaces were no different than any other kind of dinosaurs. However, we possessed an advanced level of intelligence unlike any other dinosaurs. It allowed us take items in the world around us and change them in a way that would improve the way we lived. After many generations of constant progress and discovery, we eventually reached a point where many places in the world looked like this." He gestured towards the city.
"Wow," said Littlefoot, who was amazed at the story so far. "Then what happened?"
Steven's expression suddenly change from one of content to one of sorrow. "I prefer not to go into any details. But there eventually came a day when we had absolutely no choice but to leave this world forever. After we left, everything we had made that we couldn't bring with us... simply fell apart and was buried over, which explains why the Great Valley as you know it is very different from what you see here."
"I see..." said Littlefoot. Seeing the look of sadness, Littlefoot decided to talk about something else. "So this city... is it still called the Great Valley?"
Steven's expression returned to one of content, since he was almost always pleased to talk about history. "Actually, this place in this time period is called Green City. It got its name from the many beautiful parks in the city, which you can see from here as patches of green land scattered throughout the city. A park is a place in a city where people go to temporarily get away from the noise and stress that is often seen in many other parts of a city."

"Sounds like quite a change." Mim said.
"and what of non rainbowfaces, how did they live then?" Diver asked.
"And scary sharp teeth?" Petrie asked as well.
Spike licked his lips at the description of parks, thinking they must be filled with great tasting green food.
"I think Spike would like the parks, wouldn't you Spike?" Ducky asked Spike who nodded and made a sound that he agreed with Ducky and does like the way parks were described.

"are my kind still around?" asked Rex

So this "bus' thing, it carries you places right, like a log..." ali said, confiused by the fast changes they had just witnessed._
Err.. how long before we can get back home?' Shorty asked " this place is too weird for me.."

"Agreed," Rory nodded to Shorty.

Longtail smiled as he heard the story as well as Shortys' and Rory's remarks.
"I don't know you guys, I kinda like it here. It seems rather peaceful when you can see it from so far up."
Cyrix stepped forward and looked confused for a moment. "Why don't I remember any of this?" He asked Steven and Elizabeth.
Cera shook her head as she spoke up, "I agree with Shorty and Rory. This place is just too weird."
Ruby however giggled as she said quietly, "The more things change the more they stay the same."

Mim looked around a bit, "It does seem an interesting place. Perhaps more peaceful and safe then it use to be." She said.
Ducky noded with what Cera said, "Like a log or like the way I can ride on Spike." She said.
"Petrie agree, place weird. How it get here. It magic?" He asked. "Someone found a wishing stone and make wish?" Petrie said, not very relaxed at the sudden changes or weirdness.

"This all is pretty weird, if you ask me." Guido said, still sitting on Ali's back "I wonder... How we will get our old Great Valley back?" he asked Rainbowfaces.

Hearing Ducky's comment about what Spike thought of parks, Steven said, "Parks are places meant only for relaxing and where kids can sometimes have fun, like you and your friends already do. But don't worry, there are plenty of other places in the city where you can find some food."
Steven started by answering Diver's question. "Well... throughout most of history, Rainbowfaces and non-Rainbowface dinosaurs didn't really get along that well, and usually it was the non-Rainbowface dinosaurs who suffered the most, especially the meat-eating dinosaurs. Fortunately, for us, the time period of this city here is a time when the coexistence of Rainbowfaces and non-Rainbowfaces was at its most peaceful. In other words, if there's any time in history you would rather be in, this is the one."
Steven then answered Cyrix's question. "That's a rather interesting story. You see, when the Rainbowfaces left the planet forever, they unintentionally left a few of their own kind behind. It took centuries until the ones who left were able to come back, but by that time it was too late to make such an attempt. They, your ancestors, had adapted, like all the other dinosaurs, to life without our civilization and had since forgotten about the past."
The last question Steven answered was one he didn't want to, but knew he had no choice. "I'll be honest with you all, my friend and I know so many things, it would literally take years for you to understand most of them. But I honestly don't know of any phenomenon that would cause the Great Valley to be suddenly replaced by what was here ten thousand years ago. If I don't know how all this happened, I certainly have no idea how we could possibly reverse this. I am very sorry, but I'm afraid there's a good chance we may never see the Great Valley ever again."

Chomper, Rory, Rita, Greg, and Myra's faces fell.
"You mean we'll never get to see our families again?" Chomper began to cry.
"Can't you do anything?" roared Greg.

"It could be that the Great Valley we knew is where ever and whenever this city came from." Mim said. "I wonder if it only happened here or other places were effected as well. "
Spike, Diver, Petrie, & Ducky looked sad at what was said, that they may never see their families again. Diver hugged Ducky, "At least we have each other and Spike." Diver said as Ducky hugged her back. They both moved to include Spike in the hug also.
"& we all have each other." Petrie said.

"And I have you Chomper," Rita teared up, hugging the purple sharptooth.

"so.....that means we can't get back at all?" said Rex

"It could be whatever happened may undo itself and things may go back to normal." Mim said.

"maybe...." said Rex "but how would we know for sure?"

So we may never see our families again? shorty said, shock in his face..
_ we have vto find someway back" ali said.. "going into that.. city.. might be a good place to start.."

"She does have a point," said Elizabeth about Ali's comment.
"You're right," said Steven. He then said to everyone, "Just because we are currently unaware of any possible way to return home doesn't mean we will never find one. All we can do now is speak with the mayor, try to get a good idea of what has happened both to us and to this city, and hopefully get to the bottom of all this."

Cera just sat quietly as she listened to the others talking. She had something she wanted to say, but didn't think now was the appropriate time to bring it up.
Ruby nodded in agreement.
"Yes, seeing the 'mayor' might be a good idea for all of us."
Cyrix continued to look at the city in awe. He was surprised that anything like this had existed before he hatched. "This is simply amazing." he said in shock.

"it looks...so BIG" said Rex

"They may have some more information." Mim said. "And we do need a place to stay."
"Things are ok, they could be worster, they could, they could." Ducky said nodding.

"i hope things stay okay" said Rex to ducky

Let's get going' Shorty said, coming close to Alli, and Littlefoot. "Bro, lead the way.. you usually do on things like this' He said to littlefoot." The sooner we get moving the soonerer we get home..

if we can get home' Ali said sadly.. "If we.. we are stuck here.. we'll just live toogether as a family.."

" i thought we where waiting for the.."bus"?..." replied Rex to the kids

"I do wonder when it'll get here. I guess We'll have to rely on those who have seen a bus before to tell us when it's here." Mim said.
"Me hope it not big mean sharptooth or look like one." Petrie said.

Littlefoot heard a faint noise. "What's that noise?" he asked.
Steven and Elizabeth listened closely. They could tell that whatever was making that noise was approaching them. Steven then saw something coming up the road from the right. "Ah, the bus is here," he said.
As the bus came closer, it was obvious that the noise they heard was the engine of that bus. As it came close to them, it didn't slow down and actually passed by them. "Uh, are you sure that's the bus we're waiting for?" asked Elizabeth.
"Don't worry, it's probably going to that empty parking lot over there to turn around. A vehicle that long needs a lot of room to turn around."
Steven was right. The bus turned around in the parking lot, then came back to them and soon came to a stop. The door opened and they saw, sitting in the driver's seat, a Rainbowface who was dressed like a stereotypical bus driver, including the hat. "Alright, I'm on a tight schedule here, so get on the bus and let's get this over with," said the disgruntled bus driver.
"Come on, everyone," said Steven as he stepped on the bus. "I think there will be enough seats for all of us." He and Littlefoot got in the seat behind the driver. Steven allowed Littlefoot to sit by the window. Elizabeth got in the seat on the other side of the bus from Steven, which was the front seat of the right side.

Chomper, Rita, Rory, Myra, and Greg all climbed in next. Chomper and Rita shared two seats side by side, as did Rory and Myra. Greg sat by himself unless someone chose to sit by him.
"This is kind of neat," Rita admitted.

Mim got into the bus, helping the smaller young ones onto the bus. Petrie flew in and sat close to where Ducky, Diver & Spike were sitting. They got window seats so they could see out the window.
"This is amazing it is it is." Ducky said with Spike nodding in agreement.
"It certainly is." Diver said.

Rex got onto the bus and he sat at a window seat and he tapped on the glass "what's this stuff?" asked Rex as he tapped on the glass two more times "it looks see through but...i can feel it there?"

Ducky touched it with one hand, "It is like hard water that happens in the cold time, but it is not cold, no it is not." She said.
"A most interesting substance." Mim said as she felt of the glass with one hand.

Ali and Shiorty climbed on next, looking around at the strange surrounding. the bus had several seats, and ali moved over to one near the front of the bus, and Shorty sat next to her. 'This thing is really weiird" Shorty said, trying to make conversation.

"Me wonder if this be long or short trip." Petrie said from nearby a window where he looked outside.
Spike sat down and put his front feet on the wall under the window and tried to look outside, since he didn't smell any food inside the bus.

Steven answered Rex's question. "That material is called glass. In this case, its purpose is to allow you to see outside the bus without having the wind blowing in your face, or having to worry about falling out the window."
"That's good," said Littlefoot. "I wouldn't want to fall out while we're moving."
Elizabeth noticed that Guido, Cera, Ruby, Cyrix, and Longtail had not yet gotten on the bus. "Come on, now," she said to them. "We don't want to leave anyone behind."

"Get on. There are lot of places to sit, there are, there are." Ducky said nodding.

Longtail was still a little hesistant as he stepped onto the bus.
"I just....don't like being confined is all." he said as he found an empty seat and sat down.
Cyrix stepped on next and smiled. "This is very interesting." he then looked to Elizabeth and asked, "Where exactly will we be going?"
Ruby and Cera boarded last and Ruby couldn't help but smile as she replied, "Cera are you scared, because being scared isn't a bad thing."
Cera turned on Ruby as the two sat down.
"Threehorns are NEVER scared! Got it?!"

Guido get on the bus and sat with his friends.

Elizabeth answered Cyrix's question. "We said we were going to speak with the Mayor, so we are going to City Hall, where he usually works. At least, that's where I assume we're going."
Steven asked the bus driver, "I'm curious, do you know of any plans to replace these buses with newer models?"
"Beats me," said the bus driver. "I've been driving this over-sized tin can for ten years."
This answer was enough to convince Steven to tell the others something. "Alright everyone, just to give you a word of caution, there's no telling how many people or what kinds of people have ridden on this bus before. One piece of advice I'd like to give you; if you see anything on the floor, don't touch it."
"Also, please be decent and try not to make a mess anywhere," added Elizabeth.
"Yeah, you kids better listen to her!" exclaimed the bus driver. "It's bad enough I had to clean up puke from an 8-year-old this mornin'." He then closed the door and released the parking brake. The bus then began to move forward.

"Let's just try to enjoy the trip." Mim said looking around a bit and out of the window.
"That sounds like a good idea, it does, it does." Ducky said nodding.
"Me wonder if we go far." Petrie said looking out and ahead to see where they were going.
"I am also wondering that a little." Diver said, "I guess we'll know once we get there." She said.

At first, the ride was a little bumpy. This was because the road they started on was in serious disrepair. "I don't understand why the city doesn't just tear up this road and get rid of it," said the bus driver. "Nobody's been using it for years."
"We're using it right now," pointed out Steven.
"Yeah, well, nobody ever thought guys like you would ever come near the city, let alone come to this road in particular."
A few minutes later, the bus came to a 3-way intersection with another road, which was clearly still in use because there were Rainbowface families that lived in the suburban houses that were along this road. One resident was currently mowing the front yard of his house.
The bus stopped at the rusty stop sign, another piece of evidence that this road hadn't been used in years. The bus driver looked left and right, then turned left and continued driving. The bump coming off of the unmaintained road was the biggest one they had went over on this ride so far, but after that, the ride was much smother.
Littlefoot turned to Steven and asked, "Why did the driver stop and look around before getting on the next road?"
"It's part of a set of rules that every driver must follow," replied Steven. "When a driver comes to a stop sign, he must look both left and right to see if any other vehicles are coming. Once the road is clear enough, then he can go. It's rules like these that help prevent a collision between two vehicles, and at the speeds vehicles usually go, such collisions are often deadly."

Ali and shorty gazed with interest the scene they were now pasing through. the road was bumpy.. this was a section of town that had seen better days judging by the road. Ali leaned her head against the glass. "so how far to city hall..?' she asked.

"Me hope it no scary." Petrie said, not sure of all this.
"I am sure it will be all right Petrie." Ducky said patting Petrie on his back.

Longtail had to admit, despite being on the bus he was enjoying the scenery going around the suburbs. "This place were passing through, why does everything look....broken?" he asked aloud.
Cyrix too noticed that many things about the neighborhood was degraded. "Yes, why does this neighborhood seem so degraded?" he questioned Steven.
Cera had decided to take a quick nap hoping to be where they needed to be when she awoke.
Ruby was happy to see the places they were passing on the bus.
"A good day tends to be very good." she commented with a smile.

"I heard this is where the poor people live," replied the bus driver to Longail and Cyrix. "Everybody who lives here either doesn't have a job or has one that doesn't pay them enough to make the repairs they need."
"Look on the bright side, at least this run-down neighborhood seems to be quite small," said Steven. After a stop sign at a 4-way intersection, the suburban neighborhood they saw was much better maintained. In fact, the road they were now on had recently been repaved.
"I'm actually not surprised that run-down area is so small," commented Elizabeth. "I heard that this city is among the top 10 best cities to live in on the entire continent."
"Top 10? I think you mean top 5," said the bus driver.
"That's right," said Steven. "We may not know exactly which year we're in, but I know for certain that this city is within the top 5 best cities to live in. That bad neighborhood we just passed through is actually a very rare sight."

"So this... city... is one of the better ones?" Mim asked, guessing a city was a thing were lots of folks lived, similar to the Great Valley and other places where multiples of herds gathered to live.
"What of the other flat teeth, and the sharp teeth. Where do they live, or are they all far walkers?" Diver asked.
Ducky was looking out the window, "Some of the kids seem happy and are playing, they are, they are." She said.
Spike liked the view of all the different green food they were passing, and some of the interesting new sights he could see, including some small hills and caves (houses) that he saw.
"Nothing to scary here at least." Petrie said looking out a window, "No scary mean, sharpteeth running around look like." He said.

Longtail sighed loudly as he commented, "I have a feeling this place is gonna get boring really quick. This place is quiet sure, but I tend to expect the worst when going to a new place."
Cyrix chuckled.
"Longtail try to have an open view of this. A new land, a new expereince...and quite possibly new friends for you as well. You are always saying you don't make enough friends."
Cera looked over at Cyrix.
"Hey what about us?! We're the best of best friends!"
Ruby grinned brightly.
"But Cera, more friends can mean more adventures." she said with a laugh.
Cera rolled her eyes.
"More adventures mean more accidents like us getting hurt, or separated".

"Me no like adventuring." Petrie said quietly to himself, remembering a song he had sung about that.
"More adventures mean more fun, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said.
"It certainly does." Diver said nodding.

"More friends sounds nice," Rita said, giving Chomper a kiss on the cheek.

"If you kids want to make some friends here in the city, you have a lot to learn about civilization," said Elizabeth.
As they got closer to downtown, they began to go past buildings that took up entire blocks, but weren't more than two or three stories tall since they were further away from downtown than the taller buildings. Pedestrians (practically all of them Rainbowfaces) on the sidewalk were starting to become frequent. The bus stopped at another 4-way intersection, but there was no stop sign. Instead, there was a traffic light, and the red light was currently on.
"Why did we stop?" asked Littlefoot. "I don't see a 'stop sign' here."
"You see, some intersections are so busy that a stop sign isn't enough," replied Steven. "Instead, traffic lights are used. A green light means we're allowed to go, a yellow light means we have to slow down, and a red light means that we have to stop. As you can see, we currently have a red light. when it turns green, then we can go."
The light then turned green. The bus began to move forward, but one car sped through the intersection when he had a red light, forcing the bus and a car in the opposite lane to immediately stop to avoid a collision. Fortunately, the speeder didn't hit anything. The driver of the car in the opposite lane honked the horn, shook his fist out the window and shouted, "Get off the road, jerk!"
"And sometimes there will be some dumb-ass who decides to run a red light," said the bus driver, before continuing through the intersection.

"Some people do not know how to take turns, or do not like to, no they do not." Ducky said watching the person who sped through the light.
"I guess there are some not very nice people everywhere." Diver said.

"So where are we going to stop?" shorty complained, the seat he was on was getting uncomfortable. In his moving again, he pressed Ali firmly against the window " Cut it out Shorty" Ali said " I can't move!" This seat is uncomfortable' Shorty replied.

"Maybe the seats are not made to be comfortable to long necks. Just rainbow faces." Diver said.
"It could indeed be at least one of the reasons." Mim said to Diver.

well whatever his reasons, he's squeezing me' Ali complained "littlefoot, could you tell your brother to move over a little?"

Littlefoot decided to try to make Ali feel better by asking the bus driver, "How much longer until we get there?"
"A few more minutes, maybe more," replied the bus driver. "It all depends on the traffic."
"Ah yes, the traffic," commented Steven. "Notorious as ever for any city, I presume?"
"You betcha. More than half the time it's bad enough to bring me behind schedule a few minutes. At least it's nowhere near as bad as what my brother goes through on a daily basis over in Manhattan City on the other side of the country."
"What's 'traffic'?" asked Littlefoot.
"Traffic is somewhat like a measurement of how many vehicles are on a road at any particular time," replied Steven. "If there are a lot of vehicles on the same road at the same time, it's considered bad traffic because it tends to cause everyone to slow down."

" So we are nearly there" Ali asked feeling a little better. " shorty, could you please give me some space? " She complained again. Shorty gave her a glance ' Fine, fine i'll move over..' He grumbled.. '

"Me hope we get there soon." Petrie said looking outside through the window. He still found it strange to be able to see through a bit of rock, like he could through some hard water during the cold times.
"We will be there soon Petrie, we will, we will." Ducky said to try to reassure Petrie.

Cyrix looked over at Ali and Shorty and tried to solve their seating issues. "Perhaps Shorty sit on the floor between the bus seats so that way Ali has more room?" he questioned with a smile.
Cera grinned at Cyrix's idea.
"Good call!" she said as she stood inbetween the bus seats and found it a bit easier to get comfortable.
Ruby however just sighed. "I don't see a problem, or else I would have the same problem as Ali and Shorty." she said with a confused tone.
Longtail for his part hadn't let go of the ceiling of the bus. He looked down on the others and asked, "Bet you all wish you could hang up here like me huh?!"

"It does look very different then the Great Valley I remember, it does it does." Ducky said as she looked out the window.

Rex sat there on the seat looking out the window. Rex turned around
"this is pretty cool huh guys?" asked Rex "this 'bus' also goes quiet fast"

"It is fast. I wonder if it can go faster then a fast runner." Ducky said.
"That would be pretty fast indeed if it can." Mim said.

"well it sure looks like it could beat a fastrunner in a race" said Rex

"Well, to give you a good comparison of how fast we are going, Fast-Runners are known to run at a speed of up to 50 kilometers per hour," said Elizabeth.
"In city streets like these, vehicles typically travel at about that same speed, but on roads like the highway, they typically go twice as fast," continued Steven. "And that's only how fast they're allowed to go. The top speed of most vehicles is about four times as fast as a Fast-Runner, and some vehicles can go even faster than that. But there's a rule called 'speed limit' that, depending on which type of road you're on, you're not allowed to go any faster than a certain speed. It helps reduce the chances of a collision, and, like I said earlier, collisions between vehicles are often deadly."
"That's good," said Littlefoot. "Anything that can save lives is a good thing."
(For those of you who don't use metric, 50 kilometers per hour is about 30 miles per hour.)

so once we get there, where will go after that? and where will we sleep, with our herds gone?' Ali asked nervously.

"I do hope we can stay together and will not have to separate." Ducky said, remembering when their families were going to split up and how everyone felt.
"Me hope we stay togetherer too." Petrie said looking at Ducky and not wanting to be split up from the others.

Fine I'll sit on the floor " Shorty said ' You don't have to, just move towards the middle of the seat..' ali said as kindly as she could from her position

"or your own seat if you want to see out." Mim said looking over to where Shorty and Ali were.
"I do prefer to see where we are going. I think it is better." Ducky said.

Shorty finally moved towards the end of the seat, which allowed Ali to move away from the window.. " thanks' ali said grateful to be not pressed against the window anymore

Ruby was rather stunned to learn that most of the mobile transportation in this 'valley' could move faster than a fast-runner but she smiled regardless and replied, "Well sometimes being the fastest isn't the best."
Longtail for his part had actually fallen asleep while hanging on the ceiling of the bus, and had begun to snore as a result.
Cyrix laughed softly at his nephew and asked Elizabeth a question.
"I share the same concerns as the children, when we reach our destination, will we have to be split up when we sleep?"
Cera just scoffed where she stood and replied, "I'm a threehorn we can do anything, even sleep alone."
Ruby just smiled as she looked out the window and watched the scenery go past.

"I just hope our sleeping places are comfy," noted Rory.
"Is there anything for us sharpteeth to eat here?" Greg called to Steven.

"I guess we'll find out when we get there." Mim said.
"I do hope we can stay together, I do, I do." Ducky said.
"Me hope so too. Maybe together in one of those cave things others live in. They not look to dark inside." Petrie said guessing from the window stuff like the bus had that they should not be as dark as dark scary caves.

"I'm not exactly sure," replied Elizabeth to Cyrix. "I suppose we will figure it out later today."
Steven agreed. "Yes, out sleeping arrangements are not our top concern at this very moment. After we speak with the mayor and get a better understanding of what has happened, then we will worry about where in this city we could stay." Steven was certain they would arrive at City Hall soon, because he could see they were now riding through downtown, where the tallest buildings in the city (the skyscrapers) were located.
Littlefoot looked out the window and saw they were now passing by a park that took up an entire city block. On the block on the other side of the park, he saw the base of a large building. He looked up and realized that this was the really tall building they had seen when they first saw the city. (try to imagine the Transamerica Building in San Francisco, only twice as tall)

Ali Strained her neck to look up at the huge building "Are we going.. in there?' she asked softly. " the building was the size of a small mountain.

"Me no think me can fly above those." Petrie said looking at the tall buildings.
"I could not climb that, no, no, no." Ducky said also looking at how tall the buildings were.

sp, are we going inside there? shorty asked "I don't see any opening..' He added. looking at the huge building..
- so Are we getting off here?' ali asked..

"Maybe they have an underground cave opening." Diver said.
"Or it is hidden, like the hidden canyon opening was." Ducky said.

Steven looked out the window to see what they were looking at. "No, that's not City Hall, but I'm sure we're getting close," he said.
"Yeah, it's just two more blocks," added the bus driver.
After riding through two blocks, they arrived at City Hall. At only half a dozen stories, it was much smaller than the surrounding skyscrapers, but still a large building. The bus pulled into the parking lot at the back of the building and turned around so the door of the bus was facing the building. The bus driver stopped the bus, opened the door and said, "Alright, everyone off the bus."
"Everyone?" repeated Steven. "No no, I was thinking that some of us would go in the building while the rest of us waited here. Its hard to manage a group of this size, and doing so is much harder when you're in a building."
"Hey, I've got a schedule to follow."
"Couldn't you adjust that to work for all of us?"
"I don't make the schedules, I just drive the bus, okay? Not get off the bus, or you can spend the rest of the day riding with strangers. Your call."
Steven sighed in defeat and said, "Alright, everyone off the bus. Let's go."
Steven was the first one off the bus, followed by Elizabeth. Littlefoot got out of his seat stepped off the bus, still amazed at all the surroundings of this urban landscape.

Mim got up, helping to carry Ducky and Diver off of the bus with Petrie flying behind them. Spike got off as well, with Mim putting Diver and Ducky on his back once they were all off.
"Rather interesting looking place." Mim said looking around.

Ali and shorty followed the others off the bus, with Ali heading up to be close to Littlefoot. 'So once we go in there, we will, um have a beter idea of what is going on?' She asked
_ Maybe " shorty shrugged " so bro, I guess you , me Ali will make up our herd from now one?
_ Shortly, the herd is all of us" ali replied.

"shall we go inside?" Mim asked looking around at the others.
Spike made a sound which meant why not, may as well.
"I still hope we can stay together." Diver said a bit concerned.

Longtail hopped down the stairs of the bus following the others and he heard SHorty's comment. "Ali is right. Eferyone here is part of the herd. It takes all of us to keep each other safe."
Cyrix was rather surprised by the look of the City Hall and his face reflected that feeling. "Such a big place. Are you sure we're in the right place Elizabeth?" he asked stepping up to the fellow rainbowface.
Ruby looked around and was rather impressed with what she saw.
"Such a beautiful place."
Cera wasn't the least bit entertained.
"Meh, I've seen better." she commented with a laugh.

"Who goes in first?" Diver asked looking around at those present.

"I've never seen something like this..." Myra awed.

"Me neither." Guido said, getting off the bus "Are you sure it is safe here?" he asked Rainbowfaces, since they obviously knew more about this place, than others.

"It certainly is big, it is, it is." Ducky said looking up. Spike looked up and made sounds that he agreed with Ducky.
"It certainly is." Mim said as she looked upward at the building's size.
"It like small mountain." Petrie said looking up till he fell back onto his back.

Rex was still looking out the window of the bus when he realized it had stopped. "time to get off" Rex got off the seat and ran to the front of the bus and jumped down the stairs. where he was greated by the size of an enormous building "woah...that's one strange looking rock"

"It is. But how do we get inside? Do we shout to get their attention or do we have to break through something to show how strong we are?" Diver asked as she looked around for an entrance.

(Just to remind everyone, City Hall is only about six stories tall, so even though it's big, it's nowhere as big as the surrounding skyscrapers. Being one of the older buildings, it has a stony exterior, so it would seem to the group to resemble a cliff with big square holes (windows). The group is currently in the parking lot at the back of the building. Also, I just sent Nick a PM politely asking him to remove his two most recent posts, as they contradict with what I was going to post, but just never had the time.)
Once everyone was off the bus, the bus driver closed the door and soon drove away back onto the street.
"What were you planning when you said you wanted some of us to wait on the bus?" asked Elizabeth, referring to the argument Steven had with the bus driver just before they got off the bus.
"This is just a very large group to manage," replied Steven, "and I would imagine it's even tougher to manage a group this size inside a building. That may seem like a large building, but the rooms inside are rather small, and the hallways, paths if you will, can be confusing. I don't want anyone wandering off and getting lost in a hallway, so I was thinking that some of us come with me inside while the rest of us wait here outside the building."
"Who do you have in mind?"
After some thought, Steven decided to bring Elizabeth, Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Chomper, and Ruby with him into City Hall to speak with the mayor.
"Is everyone okay with that?" asked Steven.
"I guess so," replied Littlefoot.

Longtail grinned as he watched the others walk into the building.
"Lucky." he commented with a friendly smile.
Cera laughed. "Don't worry Longtail I'm sure it will be pretty boring on the inside. You won't be missing anything." she said with a bored look on her face.
Ruby giggled as she stepped next to Cera.
"But I'm sure it will be better inside that you think you're thinking."
Cyrix nodded his head at the arangment going inside. "Sounds like a good idea to me."

"You guys have fun." Diver said as she got off of Spike's back and went over to the group that were staying outside.
"Me hope it not to dark inside." Petrie said looking inside to see how well let it seemed to be as far inside as he could see.
"Oh Petrie, even even if were dark we will be together inside." Ducky said to Petrie with Spike making a sound to agree with Ducky said before he walked inside, with Petrie landing on his back just behind Ducky.

Before taking anyone inside, Steven decided to say something important. "Alright, for those of you who will have to wait out here, I would highly recommend that you all wait right here and not go anywhere. Trust me, an urban environment like this is one of the last places you would ever want to get lost in. There are probably nearly a million Rainbowfaces living in this city, and not all of them are friendly. So for your own safety, please don't leave this parking lot." Steven then headed for the door. "Alright, let's go." He then opened the door and allowed everyone in the small group to walk in. Once they all had walked in, he followed them inside.
Littlefoot was amazed at the interior of the building. The floor was completely smooth and appeared to have cracks that went in straight lines in only two directions, making each piece shaped like a square. The whole room was shape like a perfect box, with four white walls. The ceiling, which was only one-and-a-half times the height of a Rainbowface, was also white, but what amazed him the most was that there were multiple lights in it. He was very curious about where lights like these came from. He was about to ask Steven, but then noticed that he and Elizabeth had already walked ahead of everyone.
The help desk happened to be on the other side of the room, so Steven walked up to it and asked the Rainbowface sitting behind it, "Excuse me, we're here to speak with the mayor. We're the ones that police helicopter found at the edge of the city."
The desk person that grabbed a piece of paper with notes written on it. After quickly reading it, she said, "Hang on just a second." She then pressed a button and spoke into a small microphone, "Mr. Thompson, the outsiders are here."
"Tell them to wait a few minutes, I'm busy," replied a voice from the small speaker.
"I'm sorry you have to wait, things have just been very crazy today."
"What do you mean?" asked Elizabeth.
"Perhaps this will explain everything." The desk person then grabbed the remote nearby and turned on the TV at the corner of the room.
The local news was currently on. The newscaster on the TV said, "For those of you just tuning in, yes, the rumors you've been hearing all day are true. All traces of civilization outside of Green City have suddenly disappeared." Steven and Elizabeth looked at each other in confusion then turned back to the TV. "Roads, railways, power lines, radio signals, satellites, everything is gone, and nobody has any idea why or how this could have happened." Shown on the screen was an image of a highway at the edge of the city, which appeared to have been suddenly cut-off. The road within the city limits was still there, but outside the city limits there was nothing, as if the road had never existed. This forced all outbound traffic to come to a complete stop in order to avoid going off the road.

Spike walked around the room, sniffing, to see if there were anything that smelled like it was good to eat.
Ducky and Petrie watched the tv. "Look, there is a tiny rainbowface in that tiny cave." Ducky said as she pointed to the tv, not understanding how tv's worked.

Diver looked around at the others around her. "So what do you wanta do to pass the time? We can tell stories, maybe find some game to play, maybe look at the sky to see what shapes we can see in the sky puffies we can see. Or we can just sit around & wait." Diver said.

"How about everyone else?" Diver asked. "Or would some of you rather we talk for a while first instead of doing the sky game?" She asked.

Longtail smiled at the prospect of playing sky games.
"Sure! I'll play along."
Cyrix grinned as the children passed the time.
"Even in a new place like this, they still find games to play and keep each other entertained.

Cera looked up at the TV and was confused as saw the image.
"What does this mean?" she asked rather loudly.
Ruby then asked Elizabeth, "I wonder why the Mysterious Beyond, still looks like the Mysterious beyond?"

"Indeed, it is." Mim said to Cyrix.
"Good, that means several for the sky game. Who wants to go first?" Diver asked as she looked at those who said they wanted to play or were willing to.

"To tell you the truth, I honestly don't know," replied Elizabeth to Ruby's question.
Currently shown on the TV was an ordinary citizen being interviewed at the edge of a road. "I was just drivin' down the highway, man, then all of a sudden the road in front of me just vanished! Gone! Just like that!" He snapped his fingers.
"This might sound crazy," said Steven, "but I'm beginning to get the feeling that instead of us, perhaps it was the entire city that had traveled through time, though such a thing would be more difficult to achieve. I am unaware of any technology that could send an individual back in time, let alone send an entire area forward in time, buildings and all."

"Did that happen?" Ducky asked? "Our families and friends who were here went where this city was and the city came here?" Ducky asked with some concern & curiosity in her voice.
"Is it that? Did it happen only here, or in other places also." Petrie said looking over at the 2 rainbowfaces.

Ali paused,m, her eyes fized on the door, waiting for Littlefoot and the others to return.

"It does indeed." Diver said as she looked up. She lay down so she could more comfortably look up. "That one looks sorta like a mushed mountain." Diver said.
"A most unusual phenomena. I wonder if it is for good or temporary." Mim said mostly to herself where she sat down to wait to find out news from the ones who had gone inside.

After sniffing around & finding there was no green food that smelled good to eat in the room went over to sit down and watch what was going on in the tiny cave thing that he thought the tv was.

Ali moved over and lay down next to Shorty that one looks like a longneck..' She said pointing to to it..

"IT does." Diver said. "Any other shapes you can see?" She asked those with her.

"That one looks sorta like Spike looking for sweet bubbles." Diver said looking at another cloud.

"I can't say for certain if the same thing happened to other places as well," replied Steven to Petrie's question. "The world is a very big place, and that event only happened a few hours ago. It may be days before we could have an accurate answer."
The voice on the small speaker on the help desk came up again. "Okay, I'm ready."
The desk person grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. "The mayor is ready to speak to you," she said.
"Thank you," said Steven. "Could you tell us how to get to his office?"
"Sure. Go down this hallway, take a left, the elevators should be on your right. Go to the sixth floor, take a left, then another left, and his office should be all the way at the end of that hallway."
"Thank you. Come on, everyone." He then started heading down the hallway.
Elizabeth chose to let everyone else go first. She wanted to be at the back of the group so she could make sure none of the others got lost in this building.
Littlefoot quickly followed Steven. Based on what little he had seen and heard on that TV, he realized that whatever happened today, it left everyone in this city perhaps just as confused as he and his friends were.

Petrie flew up and landed behind Ducky on Spike.
"Come on Spike." Ducky said and Spike got up to follow behind Littlefoot and the others.
"me wonder what will happen." Petrie said.

outside the game continued until ali got bored and moved away towards the side of the building..

"I do wonder how long they'll be." Diver said looking in the direction where they went. "Not to much longer I certainly hope."
"We can only wait and see I guess." Mim said also looking in the direction.

"Together we find out." Petrie said to Ducky and the others.

"Yeah, that's what we have to do," agreed Chomper.

"But when will we find out, and how?" Ducky asked.
"Me no know." Petrie said.
Spike made a sound agreeing with Petrie since he had no idea either.

"It does, it does." Diver said. "And that one looks a little like a bush."

Ruby smiled at Ducky.
"Do not worry Ducky. How long they take is just how long they will be gone."
Cera scoffed. "I don't care how long they take...just so long as they can get us back home."

Longtail grinned as he looked up at the sky puffies.
"I see one that looks like a flying rock!" he commented with a smile.

"Really? I don't see that," Greg replied.

"and that one looks like a small hill with a tiny bush on it." Diver said looking at another sky puffy.

Ducky nodded, "I just hope they do not take long, I do, I do." She said with some concern in her voice.

Steven led his group down the hallway to the left and soon arrived at the elevators. He then pushed the up button.
Curious, Littlefoot asked, "What is that?"
"What we're about to ride is call an elevator," replied Steven. "By pushing this button with an up arrow on it, we're asking it to take us up to a floor above us. The alternative to taking the elevator is the stairs. However, even a mere six floors is a lot of stairs to climb, so this elevator will take us to our destination much more quickly."
The doors to one of the elevators opened. Steven walked in and said, "Alright, let's go, everyone." He held his hand on the opened doors to make sure they wouldn't close before everyone got in.
Littlefoot stepped in, amazed at yet another piece of the Rainbowface civilization.
Elizabeth, wanted to make sure everyone stayed with the group, so she waited until Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Chomper, and Ruby got in the elevator before stepping inside with them.

"It is amazing, it is, it is." Ducky said looking around as the elevator doors opened and Spike walked in after Steven and Littlefoot, carrying Ducky and Petrie.

Cera and Ruby stepped onto the elevator and Cera immediately shuddered. "Hey Littlefoot, does this seem kinda familiar to you...like we've done this before?" she asked thinking back to their adventure with the stone of cold fire.
Ruby smiled.
"Well...if it was fun before it should be fun again right?" she asked innocently.

"I guess," Chomper added, "Cause I wasn't there the first time."

Steven quickly remembered what Cera mentioned. He had to admit, he actually felt a little guilty for putting the kids through a rather intense ride. "Worry not," said Steven, "that ride you went on before was a rather crude and primitive form of vertical transportation. This elevator is far safer and less intense than that ride was."
As Elizabeth stepped into the elevator, Steven removed his hand from the doorway. He pressed the "6" button as the doors closed. Once the doors closed, the elevator began to move up. Concerned that the gang was unfamiliar with the feeling you get when an elevator starts to go up, he added, "Don't worry about that odd feeling. It's just telling you that the elevator is going up."
Littlefoot then heard a beep. He looked up and saw a small flat box above the doorway. In that box was a bunch of red dots that were arranged in a way he didn't understand. He heard another beep and the arrangement of the dots instantly changed. Curious, he gestured towards the box and asked, "What's that?"
Steven took a quick look at what Littlefoot was referring to. He knew that it was a small screen that merely displayed a number. "That simply tells us where we currently are," he replied. Another beep was heard and the number changed. "We are currently passing the fourth floor." Another beep and the number changed. "Now the fifth floor." Another beep and the number changed again. This time, the gang also felt something similar to that odd feeling they felt when the elevator had started. "And here we are: the sixth floor." The doors opened. Steven quickly stepped out of the elevator and headed down the hallway to the left. "This way everyone."
Littlefoot stayed right behind Steven as they walked out of the elevator.
Elizabeth stayed at the back of the group to make sure nobody got lost in the hallways.

"Me remember." Petrie said remembering the incident. "We ride on rock in cave up to top of smoking mountain. It scary." Petrie said shaking his head and shivering slightly, glad it was only his remembering. "It not like this." He said looking around in the elevator.
"It does sound scary." Ducky said. "It does, it does." She and Petrie rode Spike who walked out with the others. As they did he nodded and made a few sounds. He had not particularly liked that ride up himself either.

ali and Shorty continued to wait outside for the others to return..

"I wonder if we will have to wait much longer." Diver said as she looked over to where the doors were where the others had gone into.

Chomper followed the others not wanting to be left behind.
"I've never seen something like this before at all," he said to himself.

"I know I have not, even in my sleep stories. No, No, No." Ducky said shaking her head and holding onto Spike with both of her arms.
"Me no see this either. Me wonder what happen next." Petrie said looking around a bit as he decided to do what Ducky was doing and hold onto Spike also for reassurance.
Spike kept the look out sniffed a bit to see if he could see or smell anything that could be a type of food. The surroundings were unusual to him but with all the adventures he and the others had he had gotten use to seeing unusual things and being in new places.

Cera was still impressed with the size of the building as she stepped off the elevator with a scoff. "Hmmm... this place just keeps getting bigger... I hope this is all worth the trouble we've gone through."
Ruby giggled as she replied, "I'm sure everything will be fine, after all we have our friends."

As the group turned left down another hallway, Littlefoot asked, "Where are we going?"
"Right there," said Steven, pointing at the double doors at the end of the hallway.
Once they arrived at the double doors, Elizabeth walked up to Steven and asked, "So what exactly are you planning to do?"
"Just let me do all the talking," replied Steven. "Being a historian, I'm confident that I'll be able to handle this properly." He then knocked on the door.
"Come in," said a voice on the other side.
Steven opened the door and stepped inside, followed by everyone else. The mayor's office was rather basic. There were a few bookshelves full of book on the side walls. On the near wall and the rest of the side walls were framed large photographs, some in color, others not, that showed various people, places, and events. On the far wall were two windows, one on either side of the desk. The desk, which had large stacks of paper and folders on it, was in front of the far wall. Sitting behind that desk was a middle-aged Rainbowface dressed in a suit and tie.
"Sorry about this mess," said the Rainbowface, referring to the large stacks of paper and folders on his desk. "Things have just been very crazy in the last few hours. I even had to unplug the phone just so I could focus on what's on my desk." He then got out of his chair and walked around his desk to the group in front of him. "I take it you're the outsiders I was told about."
"That is correct," replied Steven.
"My name is Franklin John Thompson, mayor of Green City."
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Steven, and this is my friends Elizabeth."
The mayor shook Steven's hand. "Nice to meet you Mr. ..."
"Oh, we don't have last names. Where we come from, that concept has become obsolete."
"I see." He then noticed Littlefoot and the others. "Are these kids with you?"
"Yes, they're actually part of our group. The rest are waiting outside."
"It's nice to meet you... uh," said Littlefoot, struggling to remember the mayor's name.
The mayor chuckled and said, "Don't worry, you kids can call me Frank."
"Thanks, Frank." Littlefoot smiled. He noticed Frank also had a smile on his face. He definitely seemed like a nice guy, just a little stressed over today's events.

Spike was sniffing around but didn't smell anything that smelled like it may be good to eat in the room.
Ducky waved as she smiled where she sat on Spike's back. "I am Ducky, I am, I am, and this is my little brother Spike. We are both glad to meet you, we are, we are." She said as she nodded at the least part.
Spike nodded and made a sound that he agreed with what Ducky said.

Ruby sighed as she stepped forward and introduced herself. "My name is Ruby, it is nice to meet you Frank."
Cera looked around the office, still not too impressed by what she saw. But she did admit that for a single rainbow face to run a whole city by himself was pretty cool. Cera then spoke up and asked, "So if you run this whole place by yourself, how did you let such a big accident like this happen?"

Petrie landed near where the pictures were. "Why these tiny rainbow faces no moving ilke ones inside box?" He asked meaning the tv they had seen. "Me no know there rainbowfaces that are tinier then tinysauruces."
"Maybe they came from the same place. Where everything is tiny." Ducky said to Petrie.

"They're even smaller than an egg," Chomper noted. "I wonder what they taste like.." he said for a joke.

Frank answered Cera's question. "Believe me, if I knew something like this would happen, I would have warned the whole city ahead of time."
When Steven saw some of the gang looking at the pictures on the walls, he told them, "I'll explain the concept of photography later. Right now, we have more urgent business to deal with."
"I couldn't agree with you more," said Frank to Steven. "This is an unprecedented event. At least, as far as I know. You say you're from the future, right?"
"Yes, 10,000 years to be precise."
"Do you think you can tell me how to properly handle this situation, seeing as it would be in your past?"
"Actually, this event didn't happen. Being a historian, I definitely would have been aware of something like this having happened, but it never did. Not even once has something like this happened throughout the entire history of civilization."
Frank was a little shocked at this revelation. "So you're saying that everything that has happened in the past hour since this event... didn't actually happen?"
"That is correct."
"What are you talking about?" asked Littlefoot. "I'm confused."
"Don't worry, time can be a very confusing concept, even for me sometimes."
