Exactly like the "What Are You Thinking About" topics.
What was the last thing you did?
Don't get too personal!
------------
Last thing I did: learned a bit of hand-to-hand combat (probably enough to defend myself - and to make my fight scenes more realistic) from an active duty National Guardsman who's a member of the science fiction club.
-
I just woke up :D
-
Just finished eating some curry for dinner
-
The last thing I did was...click on this topic! haha, no but I did just transfer a whole bunch of music from my mp3 player to my computer. I know, exciting right? :p
-
I just went grocery shopping and washed some laundry ^^
-
Hmm, well I got an oil change this morning... :lol then went to see some family membahs.. then came home again and had an egg :)
-
Practiced my guitar.
-
I was just watching some videos on the Mythbusters website.
-
I marathoned a bunch of Atop the Fourth Wall episodes since I'm so behind on them all.
-
Cooked and ate a "hobo dinner" with my family. :smile
-
Uploaded the 65th segment of a large file... :bang
-
Just submitted four new pics on DA, which I'm about to submit here too!
-
We moved some furniture around the house yesterday. I now have a nice corner desk and a computer in my bedroom. :DD

Yeah, just learned more CQC techniques from an Army National Guardsman. And this was because someone in my weekly Nerf shoots ended up getting choked out and he used me as a "sparring partner" to show the counter to a rear naked choke.
Yeah, the dude's name is Lenny and he's basically a militarized version of me with a CCW. Bear in mind that I am old enough to get a CCW and carry a handgun in VA. In my home state of NJ, f--- that s---; there's a better chance of me winning the lotto jackpot than me getting a CCW, which completely sucks because NJ is home to some really s---hole cities.
So in my extremely limited arsenal of CQC techniques, I have:
1.) How to escape from a front stranglehold.
2.) How to escape from a rear naked choke.
3.) How to place someone in a standing wristlock.
4.) How to use a cross collar choke on someone in front of me.
5.) General fighting tactics (fight dirty as hell and try to get in close)
Ehh. Nothing compared to what Lenny knows but it's hopefully probably enough to defend myself.

I worked out a game plan for my college homework with my mother and then got terrified by this (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1165930/Barry-giant-sea-worm-discovered-aquarium-staff-mysterious-attacks-coral-reef.html)
Goodbye, tonight's ability to sleep. I will miss you.

OOh, looks like a great monster for a monster movie. Imagine a irradiated one.
I guess I can say that was the last thing I was thinking before I posted this. Before that I was watching some songs from the animated hobbit movie from way back.

Let's see, went to my job orientation (:DD), then spent a few hours afterwords figuring out how screwed I am financially for the next couple months. :(
-
I ate a donut. Pointless, I know.
-
My math final. So glad it's finally over...
-
Demonstrated against all the s*** that's going on here.
-
I just got done preparing the histology quiz for tomorrow's lab. I certainly hope that the students have been studying...
-
I just installed a hard drive in one of the business computers I just purchased for resale.
-
Just finished volunteering at my library. *Those ridiculously heavy reference books are killing my arms!!*
-
I read a textbook from the 1930s about sewing.
-
I just switched out the case fan for my desktop computer.
-
I just finished one online course webinar, and now I'm waiting to attend my second one. The only place I can get free wifi for now is at a nearby resort, and things were quiet and peaceful until about two minutes before class, when at least eleven tour buses stopped by. Trying to talk on the phone in a webinar over bus hydraulics, screaming kids, half a dozen foreign languages at once, and practically getting trampled by tourists makes for a...well, interesting, class session :lol.
-
I just finished lecturing on the sliding filament model of muscle contraction in my Human Anatomy and Physiology course. The class seemed to understand the material well so I am quite pleased about that.

I think I actually remember learning that in A&P :lol. Brutal subject matter, but if you find the human body fascinating, it can be a fun subject too :p.

Yes, it truly is an interesting field of study. What I always stress to my students is that they should focus on the conceptual overview of the topic in question, before delving into details and memorization. In the case of muscle contraction, this means that I had to tell them to ignore the book's discussion on the topic (the book reads like a stereo manual and provides no context for the subject in question) and to listen to my narrative on the topic. I guess I will find out how well they comprehend the material in a few weeks when they have their third lecture exam.

I played with the dogs that I am watching while their owners are away for a few days; two basset hounds and I think an American pit bull terrier. The pit bull can get a bit rowdy, but he's a big softie and he loves my nephew. :)
-
Just finished with my third (squee) official workday at the child care center I now work at. There is this little love of a toddler who, everytime she sees me, gets this big smile on her face and yells, "HI!" And then, when I pick her up, she cuddles and kisses my face.
... My heart has melted so many times now, I'm surprised I still have any heart left O_o

Just finished grading the last batch of exams for my Anatomy and Physiology course. After 4 hours of grading last night and 4 hours this morning my brain is officially mush. Now I just have to do is have two hours of office hours and teach my two evening classes and I will be done for the day.

Editing some of my topics.
