Interesting fact, the only person still alive from Pinoochio is the kid who played Pinoochio

That is interesting and sad too, that the only voice actor alive is the child who played Pinocchio.

Yeah he's in his 80s. But the movie was made 70 years ago, to be still alive now, you'd have had to be young when you made it. Everyone knows who Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio are, but can you name the actors who voiced them?

Beauty and the Beast. The pacing is amazing, which I find doesn't often happen in Disney films. Also it's so gorgeous, a lot of times I'll watch it just to stare at the backgrounds. And the way the Beast was animated was simply spectacular.

beauty and the Beast is the only animated Disny film ever nominated for best Picture. It didn't win, and with the seperate animated film catergory which was created about 10 years ago, it is unlikely an animated film will ever win Best Picture, or even be nominated for it again.

I have seen and love all these films, but my favorite Disney film of all time is "Beauty and the Beast".  The storyline is original, the songs are not corny, and Belle's character is a spitting image of mine.  We're both adventurous, blind to differences, patient, independent, plain in appearance, working class, readers, compassionate and animal lovers :).  Oh, and I always feel a little crush for Beast in human form come on whenever I watch the film.  It's those sky-blue eyes that get me every time :lol.

His forname is Dickie, but I'm afraid I do not know his surname.

Dickie Jones is his name, he was born in 1927, he was 13 when he did the voice of Pinocchio- which roughly translates to "pine eye" in Italian

Knew it was Dickie, just didn't know that his surname was 'Jones'.  Thank you Nick.

I've actually read the story of Pinocchio. it was written in 1883, and the Pinocchio in the story is a spoiled brat who is really naive. eventually he does "make good" but only after many trails and detours..

I'm don't really like disney movies like I do LBT...if I had to pick one, "Bambi" might be it cause I love the gorgeous scenery of the film---I think I might have seen the 1st half of it once when I was like 4, and the one part I do remember is it starting out with a moving shot through a forest.

By the way, I found a written synopsis of it on IMDB...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0034492/synopsis

I think the original LBT deserves a synopsis on IMDB too.  :idea

Also, although it's not on the list, Fantasia is really cool; I haven't seen it in years---I saw it when I was 8 on January 19, 2003---but I remember thinking the part with the dinosaurs set to "The Rite of Spring" was a lot like the original LBT!  ;)

And do I even have to mention that my three #1 disney characters---Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed---alone make "The Lion King" worth voting for?  ;)

I've finally decided..."The Lion King" is my favorite.

I really love Mufasa, Simba, Zazu, and of course, the hyena 3!  :smile

Plus, it gave us the fantastic "Timon and Pumba" show!  :smile

This is a very difficult poll.  :smile

There is something that I admire in almost all of the Disney movies, whether it be story, animation quality, music, or characters. My top favorites include:

The Rescuers
Fantasia
The Little Mermaid

But I suppose, if I take into account the sequels and extended universes of all of these films, and compile all of the qualities I mentioned above that I admire in them (how scientific  :lol ) then my all time favorite Disney movie would be . . .

The Lion King. There is something about this movie that is just special to me. And a lot of it has to do with the sequel. I know that Simba's Pride has it's flaws, and doesn't really live up to the original, but I like the way it seems to try anyway. It is probably the darkest DTV sequel Disney has done as well.   And it also introduced more lions, which are my favorite characters.  :angel

Atlantis the Lost Empire and Treasure Planet aren't on the list.  Oh well, I'm putting them down anyway.

Yeah I liked Treasure Planet as well. I saw it in theaters and I was not  unhappy with the movie. Jimmy was a good character. He was the outcast and I always look up to the outcast characters. I gave it a 8/10 even tho I heard people say it was awful but I disagreed with them. It was a wonderful movie.

I'd go for The Jungle Book because I remember watching it so many times as a kid, and because it has Kaa, one of my favourite animated characters ever.

The Emporer's New Groove would be a close second though, that film's hilarious.
