This is just a fun topic to make up a LBT song of your own or change the words in a LBT song to make a new song.

I wrote a couple of LBT poems that might be used as songs for LBT stories of mine. Consequently they refer to events in the stories and may not be fully understandable torn out of context. I did not compose any melodies for those.
This one was written for the story "Old Threehorns", it would be titled "Pterano's misery" and it would be sung by the named flyer (and yes my choice of words is sometimes not exactly LBT like. Only hope that Pterano's own fondness for bombast may in this case justify some of the words):

Quote
Pterano’s misery

Does it matter not at all
What I say or what I do?
No matter what, I hear the call
ëDon’t even think that we trust you!’

Those whom I seek to protect
Don’t have for me the slightest respect
Are sorrow and despair my only destiny?
Will the past ever cease to predestine my fate?
Will tomorrow be more fair and end this misery?
Can anything I do for them strip them of their hate?

And even if my hopes fulfilled
Will the past stop haunting me?
The failure of once cannot be undone
And those who followed me were killed
If my hopes do not fulfil, again shall I be gone?

I’ve always thought that I could go my way alone
I see now that I was wrong
I do need chums and I do need a home...

And if I can never achieve this from those who are the right
Can I possibly make up my mind and change to the other side?

I thought of one that may fit here.  I may not be able to remember all the lyrics I did of the song, but I should be able to get most of it close to what I thought up months ago.   Not sure who would sing parts of the sing but I did have an idea for 1 part his friend could sing and all may join in together for the end.  Not a very good song I"ll admit.

Spike likely scats sings during the song.

The Amazing Longneck Boy

? Sings :
Hail the amazing Longneck Boy
He tricked the sharpteeth into to going away
his mighty courage saved the day
he is our hero now

Cera, Ducky, & Petrie sings :
He lead us to the Great Valley
and though we did not he knew the way

Chomper :
He hatched my egg in the Great Valley
and saved me when I fell into the big water

? sings:
Who would have thought a task so big
could be done by one so small

? sings:
but we now know he's smart and brave
we know that he has it all

All the singers]:
so hail the amazing longneck boy
amazing longneck boy
and tell his story near and far
because of how impressed we are
he is our shining star
the amazing longneck boy
all hail, the amazing longneck boy

As a fellow Pterano fan, I REALLY liked this! :yes

I am writing a Land Before Time fan fiction called Familiar Love. The genre is romance/adventure. I will start posting on the forum once it is finished. (I never begin posting a story before it’s fully done. I often change details in older chapters to make content of newer chapters work out, so if I posted as I wrote them, people would either get sick of the story from having to go back and reread things, or they’d get confused with the new chapters from not knowing of the detail changes.) Anyway, so far, I have written two songs for it. Neither of them were done by the gang (though I may have Littlefoot and company sing one or two later) but instead are sung by a foursome group of original characters. These songs also serve to tell readers more about the characters’ personalities. Neither of the songs were named, as I don’t feel the need to. Furthermore, without having read the chapters these songs appear in, you’re not going to understand WHY these kids are singing these songs, but you may be able to follow them on face value alone. Anyway, here are the two LBT songs I’ve written for my fan fiction so far:

Slash:
It is time I set things right.
I’ll avenge my dad and win the fight!

I just can’t tell what’s in store for us.
Oh, oh oh oh! Nobody can know.
This task will not be an easy one.
Oh, oh oh oh! Off to search high and low.

Leaf:
Lots of trouble must await us all-
Not even safe when night does fall.

Dez:
   Oh, yes!

Serene:
   Ugh, no!

Slash:
   It does not matter;
   I have to go!

   Freeeee all hesitation.

Serene:
   I looooove collaboration.

Slash:
   I will make no delegation!

Dez:
Ohhhhh the sights that weëll see.

Leaf:
Whaaaaat a pain this will be.

Dez:
What fun we’ll all have. Yippee!

All but Leaf:
No matter what we will find,
We are all in this together.

Leaf:
You really think we’ll stay a group,
Even in the stormiest of weather?

All but Leaf:
   Oh yes!

Leaf:
   I digress…

We may not make it through this.
This will be our hardest test.

Slash and Dez:
There is one thing that’s certain:

Serene:
   We’ll always do our best!

Leaf:
Oh, come on, get real you guys,
And just give your cheers a rest.

Slash:
As long as we keep up hope,

Dez:
If we all refuse to mope,

Serene:
   We’ll see through our endeavor.

Leaf:
   You really think so? Whatever.
__________________________________________________________________
Slash:
   (Slow)
Thank you. I want to thank you all.
I really could not do this on my own.
I just could never imagine this trek,
With me journeying all on my own.

   (Fast)
   Yeah yeah yeah!
   You guys are the best!
   Yeah yeah yeah!
   Your kindnesses don’t rest!
   Oh yeeeeeah!
If I could be with anyone,
It’s by you three I’d always run!

I owe so much to you!
   Together is the way,
   We’ll make it throoough!

   What are your thoughts, Dez?

Dez:
   (Slow)
   You all are…

   (Fast)
The best of friends a guy could want!
You take good care of me!
Even though I’m just a runt,
Your love is all I see!

If you were all a tasty meal,
And I had you in my jaw,
   The yumminess would be unreal-
The best food I ever saw!

Serene:
   Uh, that’s nice Dez.

Dez:
Thanks! So, how do you feel about our team, big sis?

Serene:
   Well…

   (Slowly)
   I couldn’t imagine a life without,
Each and everyone one of you.
I often have to look after things,
But caring is my favorite thing to do.

   (Fast)
You guys are just the greatest!

   (Slow)
   My heart can always tell.

   (Fast)
   We get along so wonderfully!

   (Slow)
Though at times I have to yell.

Happiness is always right by my side.
I just look around and open my wings wide.
   Oh ohhh yeah!

   Have anything to add, Leaf?

Leaf:
   (Slow)
   You guys are all annoying.
It just makes me very mad.
   Your never-ending optimism,
   Is really truly sad.

Whyyy? Why am I stuck with guys?
Ohhh. My days are filled with long sighs.
Laaame. I always have to hear your cries.

   (Fast)
You just can be so hard to take.
Why don’t I just drown in a lake?
You’re all worse than a great earthshake.
I bet your kindness is a fake.

   (Slow)
   Your attitudes I can’t condone.
Why won’t you just leave me alone?

Slash:
   (Slow)
Aw, Leaf, how could we let you be?

Dez:
   (Slow)
Yes, Leaf, can you really not see?

Serene:
   (Slow)
You’re stuck with us forever! Tee hee!

Leaf:
   (Slow)
Ugh, this is pointless. I’m going to pee.

I got a song from my fanfic. At this point in the story, Littlefoot and the others have met a group of mysterious dinosaurs called the Blackweed Brotherhood outside the valley. While they shelter with them from a storm, Littlefoot asks their leader, a teenage Spinosaurus named Redback, exactly what the Brotherhood is about. The other members, Rheddo the Rhedosaurus and Celya the Coelophysus, join Redback in song as Tero, who never speaks, taps out the rhythm on the cave wall. The melody is based loosely on the Iron Maiden song, The Nomad.

Redback: Legend tells of creatures from so far away
Creatures born of fire and wind, that’s what they say.
They hold the secrets of the farthest, oldest lands
They are the keepers of the mystery in their hands.

All: Blaaackweeeeeds!
Redback: Feared by creatures, small and strong
All: Broootherhoooood!
Redback: Those who don’t fear us are wrong!
All: Blaaaaackweeeeds!
Redback: Where we come from, no one knows.
All: Brooootherhoooood!
Redback: Where we go to no one says!

Redback: Rheddo walks the plains, and sharpteeth flee in fright!
Rheddo: Celya’s run as fast as wind, and silent as the night!
Celya: Redback’s mighty claws have cut through solid stone!
Redback: And Tero’s origin’s a mystery in it’s own!

All: Blaaackweeeeeds!

Ducky: Sounds quite dangerous to me.

All: Broootherhoooood!

Celya: It’s lots of fun as well, you’ll see

All: Blaaaaackweeeeds!

Cera: You don’t look that brave or strong

All: Brooootherhoooood!

Rheddo: Well, we soon will prove you wrong.

[Brief spoken interlude]

Redback Few will dare to even look or glance our way,
Our reputation goes before us, day by day.

Littlefoot: No one in our valley knows the Blackweed name...

Redback Yes for now, but soon they’ll know it, just the same.

All: The Blaaackweeeeeds!
Redback Hear our chant and know our tale.
All: Broootherhoooood!
Redback: See our spines and wings and sail.
All: Blaaaaackweeeeds!
Redback: Where we’ve come from, no one knows.
All: Brooootherhoooood!
Redback: And where we go to, no one says.

All: The Blackweed Brotherhoooooooood!

More songs are on the way in the story. I daresay, I'm pretty proud of this first one.

As some of you may know, I am in the works of writing a fanfiction entitled "The Adventures of Petrie in Threehorn Valley", the first chapter of which is already on this site and on Fanfiction. Shame that I haven't even written a word of the second chapter yet, but I guess it's a combination of laziness and a busy life...but that's not the point. The point given here is that I am in the planning stages of writing and arranging five original songs. So far, I only have the music and some lyrics in my head, none of which has been written down at the moment (thanks once again to my laziness and busy schedule). However, the first song in the story, entitled "Together As One", has already been written (both music and lyrics...well, at least the lyrics are complete) and is shown on that same first chapter.

Listed here are styles of the songs that are planning to be in the story:

*"Together As One", sung by the gang of seven, is just your basic LBT song...actually, it's not! It is more of a 70's-style song, featuring the basic rhythm section (keyboards, organ, guitars, bass and drums), as well as other instruments such as percussion, strings, and a horn section. Quite a killer opening tune once you eventually hear it...

*The next song is entitled "Find Your Courage", sung by Petrie, another character that shall remain nameless for the moment (it's not an original character, let's leave it at that), with other random characters popping up and singing backing vocals. The song is 80's pop-rock style, with instrumentation consisting of synthesizers, guitars, drums, and to top it off, a tenor saxophone solo, which seems to appear out of the blue.

*The third song is entitled "The Old Times", which is sung by an original character by the name of The King of Broken Sleep-Stories; his story is yet to be developed. It is an early-90's pop ballad consisting mainly of keyboards, synthesizers and drum programming, as well as guitar, bass, and a choir.

*Next, the villain song  :smile . The song is entitled "The World Is Mine!", and it is sung by (who else?) the antagonist of the story, the rainbowface known as Mimus, along with other companions of his, who also play much of the instruments and sing backing vocals. Probably the longest song in the story in terms of length. A 60's soul-style song consisting of the rhythm section (piano, organ, guitar, bass, drums and percussion) as well as the horn section, including a tenor saxophone solo (At one point, I had actually thought about half of that solo being a harmonica solo, but decided against it.) The song closes out with a traditional 6/8 blues ending.

*The final song, entitled "(I Wish) I Could See You Again", is a emotional ballad; a duet with Petrie and Ducky, both of whom are in two completely different places at the time (we'll leave it at that). Instrumentation consists of electric piano, acoustic and electric guitar, acoustic bass, and an orchestra (strings, harp, French horns, woodwinds, and timpani).

That is all the songs I plan to feature. Another thing I forgot to mention is that on any of the songs Petrie is singing, he sings in perfect grammar, while still speaking the way he usually does. I feel this is something that is necessary to make the songs actually good, rather than songs that have potential but are then "ruined", so to speak, by Petrie's usual bad grammar.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask questions or send me a PM about any of these songs or features in the story.
