Brain Food / Fact or Crap!
« on: January 01, 2006, 09:57:50 AM »
Okay, the rules of this game are simple.

I will put in a little statement about something and you try to guess whether that statement is Fact (True) or Crap! (False)

If you guess it right, it's your turn to give a Fact or Crap! statement.

Now, here's the catch, you have to explain why it's Fact or Crap!  Otherwise, your answer won't count.

There's also another thing, you must wait for confirmination of your answer before you can post a Fact or Crap! statement.  If this rule is broken, the statement you posted won't count.  However, you will be given 24 hours to put in a new statement to redeem yourself.  If you do not post a new one within 24 hours, it becomes a free-for-all (meaning anyone can give one.), with the exception that the one who broke this rule can't post one.

If you post a Fact or Crap! statement when it's not your turn, it won't count.

Here's a little example I'll start with:

In the original LBT movie, Ducky is refered as a Duckbill.

Answer: Crap!  In the original movie, Ducky was refered as a swimmer by Littlefoot's mother and as a bigmouth by the narrorator.

-------

Now, time for the real one...

Fact or Crap!

Because of all his hard work, Charles Dickens, the author of A Christmas Carol, was actually quite rich through his life.

Okay, go for it guys! :)

LBT Fanfiction / New names for the gang
« on: December 07, 2005, 11:38:00 AM »
Okay, some of you know that I'm making a Dark LBT fic, and I've run into a little problem with it.

You see, there's a point where the gang is found as an enemy to the residents of the Great Valley, because of something they did. (This will be revealed in the fic.) With their families gone, (They all died horrible deaths if you must know.) they had to strike out on their own and take care of eachother.  Years later, they return because the valley is in danger.  However, if they were revealed who they were, the Valley's residents wouldn't want their help.  So, for this reason, they change their names.

That's my problem now.  I have a tendency to suck when it comes to making up names.  So I need some ideas of what to name them.  Here's what I have so far:

Littlefoot = Thunderfoot

Yeah, that's about it.  So, what names would you like to be given to them?

I'll take all suggestions.  Just understand, I may not pick yours for whatever reason.  Sometimes, it may be that I still can't pick one and just picked randomly.

Believe me, I could really use the help.

Thanks in advance.

General Land Before Time / Wow! LBT 10 was like that?
« on: December 07, 2005, 11:17:17 AM »
I finally got to see 10, and I'm at a loss for words.

Reason why, is because from what I've heard about it, it's rather underrated to me.  People just don't seem to understand it, and what we don't understand, we misjudge.

I don't see where Bron's story doesn't make sense.  Give me where it doesn't make sense, and I bet I can show you how it does. (Understand though, it's a little complex and not that simple to understand.)

One thing I found incredibly interesting is Shorty.  From what I heard, I was expecting something rather kind and simple.  I was surprised when I found Shorty was a, dare I say it, bully.  The way he treated Littlefoot, it seemed that he wanted nothing to do with him.  In a simple understanding, he wanted to be his enemy.  They say that the greatest test of making a friend is making one out of your enemy.  Littlefoot accomplished that and made a friend I would've never expected him to have.

Finally, what surprised me most, was with where it was going, those seeing it for the first time, and having zero knowledge of 11 existing, (Though nowadays I don't see how that's possible.) would think that 10 was it for the gang.  That it was over basically.  The final song, "Best Friends", was basically a goodbye song.  If Littlefoot did go with his dad, that would've been it.  With just a few steps of Littlefoot's goodbye, the series would've ended.  However, I now see that his friends are a part of his life that he doesn't want to let go.  The gang is more like a family than anything else.  Splitting family apart is very hurtful.  I can understand how it feels myself.  It's just hard to let go.

To me, in all truth, 10 is misunderstood.  There's more to it then realized.  Of course, with how complex of a piece of work it is, I'm not too surprised others misunderstand it now that I think about it.

In conclusion, I was expecting this to suck and found it to be one of the best.  It's just misunderstood to some.  That's all there is to it.

General Land Before Time / Hey! Finally watched Journey to Big Water (IX)
« on: December 01, 2005, 02:36:16 AM »
Whew!  Finally got to see it, and it cost me $15.98. (That's including tax from a $14.95 DVD.  I have a strange feeling I got a little ripped off. *does the math.* Oh great!  I only got ripped off by 3 cents.)

Anyways, in all respect, I actually liked it.  In all truth, I really liked Mo.  He was really funny. (Just the voice was good for a laugh.) :lol The realistic graphics they put in were spectacular. (The huge log Cera had to push actually looked real.) And the songs with the original music melody of "If We Hold On Together" were really good.  To be honest, I don't understand why such a series gets bad reviews.

Of course, with it being on my Christmas list, I really know I should've waited, but you don't understand how hard it is to get this video in my town. (I really think I got the last one that wasn't bought to be honest.)

Yes, I've got the videos I haven't seen on my list. (Oh, BTW, great job whoever did the artwork at top.)

Let's see, that just leaves 7, 8 and 10.

Anyways, back on topic, great movie, and I will definately watch it again when I get the chance.

Just my own comments on this that I wanted to express.

You have permission to do with this topic as you wish. :)

1988 Theatrical Release / Littlefoot Getting rid of Sharptooth
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:13:17 PM »
Okay, I'm sure we all know that this was coming for a long time, but why do you think Littlefoot wanted to get rid of him once and for all?

For one reason or another, Littlefoot wanted to get rid of Sharptooth forever.

Why did he want to get rid of him?

I have two guesses to this.

1: Avenge his mother.  It's great reason in the end.  Sharptooth did cause that wound that made Littlefoot's mother bleed to death.  He wanted to end the pain he was feeling.  The only way to do that was to kill Sharptooth.  However, he knew it meant his death if he did it alone.  So he asked his new friends to help him.  He avenged his mother in the end, but at the cost of nearly losing Petrie.

2: If he didn't kill him, the Valley would've been in danger.  With how often the gang ran into Sharptooth through out the movie, it did seem that he was following them.  If he didn't kill him when he did, chances are that he would've followed them to the Valley.  And we all know how bad of a thing that would've been.

What do you guys think?

The Welcome Center / Hey There! (Yes, another newbie for you all.)
« on: November 14, 2005, 11:01:36 AM »
Hi there, guys!

I'm pokeplayer984 (the first e sounds like a.) and I've been a fan of The Land Before Time since the beginning.  As of now, I'm at the age of 22.

Now, I have enjoyed such a series since it's release in 1989, but there was a time I swayed away from it.  After the sixth movie, The Secret of Saurus Rock, I brushed myself away because it seemed kinda boring to me.  However, the ONLY reason I did find it boring was because I was watching the shows too much.  Trust me, there is such a thing.  I am someone who needs something new within a certian amount of time to really enjoy a series.

After completely skipping 7 - 10, I suddenly forgot why I stopped watching it.  After that, I wanted to see the newest one, The Invasion of the Tinysaurus, and my love for the series was reborn.  Now, I really want to see the ones I missed.  I know one day I will have them all, because of how determined I am to get them.  The only problem I have is finding them in this small town of mine.

Now out of all I've seen, my favorite is the first one with Tinysaurus coming in a close second.  However, that might change in the future.  My brother, who isn't as big of a fan as me, but is nonetheless, said that the 10th one, The Longneck Migration, was pretty good, and he has made me VERY jealous of him.  Maybe I'll ask him to have him borrow it from his friend just so I can see it.  :^.^:

Out of the whole gang, Cera is my favorite (I'm a BIG fan of tomboyish girls.) with Ducky at a close second. (I just love the way she talks, yep, yep, yep!)  :slap (Oh great!  Now I'm doing it!)

Anyways, to show my fandom for the series, I'm busy making a one of a kind fanfiction.  I'm not sure when I'll have the first chapter completed so you guys can enjoy it, but it will come eventually. (Note: This is my 13th fanfiction.  The third that is yet to be released on the net.)

Here's the basic summary:

The Land Before Time: The Dark Future.

Genre: Adventure/Romance/Dark

Twenty years have passed since the beginning, and the future isn't all it seems.  A darkness has befallen upon The Great Valley and has changed from a beautiful dinosaur Utopia to a barren wasteland that brings nothing but death.  Upon discovery that the cause was unnatural, Littlefoot and the gang set out to find the cause of this event.  However, many dangers lurk in the Mysterious Beyond to stop them.  And the biggest threat to their survival is a friend that they had trusted who they never thought would betray them.

WARNING!  High chance of being R rated due to the content. (Violence, gore, death, inappropriate content and a small descriptive sexual scene.)

Oh, and for you Littlefoot+Ali fans, yes, it does have that shipping in it.

Expect it's release in 2006.

Well, I'd say that's enough me.  Time for those replies.
