Visual Art / Re: Flathead770's Photography

Alright, I'm finally getting around to posting some of the photos I took during my camping trip near Banff, Alberta in mid June. I've started to enjoy taking a lot more portrait oriented photos for landscapes, especially when mountains are involved, to better get some foreground in the image. Also starting to enjoy using 50mm focal length instead of always opting for the wide angle approach.

Starting a couple pictures from our campsite. This campsite was probably the best I've been at in terms of views. Would go there again haha

Next we went to Lake Louise to do a hike. With the weather being kinda rainy in the forecast for the time we were there, the clouds were doing some interesting stuff, and fog was always around in the morning to make for some interesting views.

Couldn't finish the rest of our hike as the top part was covered in too much snow still, but the lake at this point was still neat.

Also, this view along the trail was pretty darn cool

Next day we went to Emerald Lake on the BC side of the border. This was actually taken at the end of the hike as no one was around on the return except for this lone kayaker on the lake.

This is probably one of my favourite landscape shots taken at 50mm now. It was cool how the creek lined up with the mountain in the background

The final day before heading out, we visited Peyto Lake as it is just a short 10 minute drive from our campsite. I was up on the boardwalk and saw people taking pictures down below and thought it would add to the photo.

Not as many were taken this trip as we only went camping for a couple nights instead of almost an entire week.

Was certainly a surprise to see this when I woke up. Bayonetta 2 was an amazing game, so I hope that the 3rd one can match it as well.

Hello everyone! As the year passes the halfway mark, a new prompt arrives. This one is for July/August and the topic is: Fight scene: Draw a scene of two (or more) characters getting into a scuffle. Was it an argument that got physical, is it defence from an enemy, or is someone being a bully?

What sort of fight will we end up seeing? Cera and Littlefoot? Cera and Shorty? Cera and Rhett? Actually...I don't think Rhett could ever be in a fight as it wouldn't end up being much of a fight  :rhett_grin :rhett_brag :rhett_smile

Thanks everyone! Nice to be back, even if it will more than likely be temporary.

Welp, I wasn't expecting that.  :rhett_shocked
That's always my plan  :PLoofah

Hey not bad for an any% fanart prompt speedrun  :bestsharptooth

That grin is done really well! Nice job with this given the time!

Just in the nick of time, I have appeared from the shadows to participate in a fanart prompt once again! Here is my submission for the prompt: Age up/age down

Combining this prompt with the first prompt of the year of "favourite" couple. Ruby and Chomper have been aged up, which has created an unlikely pairing that no one suspected. Is Ozzy upset in Strut's new choice in partner, or that fact that he has indulged in some "plant popping"? It's up to you to decide  :ozzysmug

Been awhile since I've visited this topic

Have you ever heard of Jordan Peterson? Have you ever watched some of his videos?
I've heard of him and know that he seems to have some fairly extreme views on certain topics. From what I've heard I don't seem to agree with him and have no desire to get further tangled in such things.

How familiar are you with the Sonic games?
I know a bit about them. I've beaten the first two games as well as Sonic Mania. Haven't really touched the 3D games, though I know a lot of them aren't the best  :PLoofah

Do you hate those moments of silence and then an immediate jumps scare?
I suppose I do, though mainly because I feel it's a poor way to express suspense as the relief after the jumpscare makes things less scary in the long run. If you really want to scare people, have a spot where a jump scare seems evident, but don't have one. Gotta keep them guessing haha. It's the same way with monster reveals in scary shows, where once the monster is revealed, it instantly becomes less scary (Stranger Things season 1 for example). It's a reason why older scary films can be much scarier, as the limited technology made it so reveals weren't as much as a thing, so people fill in the void with their own imagination, which is generally always much more scary then the real thing.

In general I'm not even a fan of scary type shows though haha

She looks like she's ready to stab someone with those new grown horns of hers  :bestsharptooth

Her expression is well done and I like the detail in her frills! The markers make for a pretty nice art style as well. I'll get this added to the list right away, sorry it took so long.

Where has the time gone? A month has already passed which means the prompt is now half over! Any updates on who might participate in this one? I'm hoping to join in on this one and have already gotten a bit of a sketch done so far.

Very nice Ruby sketch there! I like the expression. Gives me the vibes that she's looking at her reflection confidently saying "Yeah, I look good" to herself :PLoofah

Oh hey I see a yellowbelly in the mix! For some reason people don't ever want to draw them  :PLoofah

These are pretty good! Do you use any type of drawing stylus for these or was it with a mouse (not sure how anyone could actually manage that haha)

Have you seen a Star Trek film?
I've seen one of the older Star Trek films, though I can't remember which ones they were. I've also seen the first two reboot films.

TMNT, maybe?
I think I might have seen a bit of the older TV series episodes when I was younger, but that was more my older brothers show as I was probably quite young at the time. I do remember seeing parts of the TMNT series that was during the mid 2000s? Also the first live action movie is great haha.

Ever been to the northern provinces of Canada?
Well anything further north of the main Canadian provinces are technically Territories, but no, I have not been to them. Would like to check them out one day though.

Sounds good Jewel! Also thanks for the reminder. I've been busy these last few days with late nights dealing with school club activities.  :PLoofah

As Jewel has mentioned, the next prompt is upon us for May and June: Age up/age down: Draw any character as a different age to how they appear in the series. Will the gang be all grown up? Or will their folks be younger (or even older :lol )?

How old can the Old One get? Maybe we'll find out in two months  :bestsharptooth

Hopefully I'll be able to join in on this one now that school is done and my summer break/work has (almost) arrived.

Maybe chatting was not a good idea, knowing the moderator’s response.  But it was nice having a topic talk in here!
Mumbling's quote was from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe. In it, the answer to life and the universe is 42, the number she would've been on.
