I've read those before and I thought it was a load of rubbish (putting it nicely). I just laughed coz this "person" (sarcastic tone there), obviously doesnt have a clue! PMSL! Considering Malte's topic on Prejudices in the After Midnight section, this is exactly the sort of thing that normally would hack me off but this was just comical at the stupidity and blindness of this "individual".

For some reason the page doesn't show up for me. I think though that I know the page. If my assumption is correct I assume it is that page with "reviews" on the LBT sequels with statements such as "whom must we kill?" (in order to prevent new sequels from being produced) right?
If we are talking about the same page I can assure you that it exists for quite a while already and has several times been updated to include flaming against newer sequels. It is strange, I think, that while this guy apparently loathes LBT he still seems to continue to watch the sequels just to flame about it. Very weird behaviour indeed. :huh:

This guy's "review" seems very familiar to that of another guy's "review" of dinosaur movies. They both refer to the Great Valley as "Death", and the other guy refers the Mysterious Beyond as "Hell".
I'd be shocked if either one of these nutjobs have children...

That's the way democracy works. Everybody has the right to speak his or her mind, yet no one is obliged to listen to them. So let's make use of that second right, ignore that person and keep in mind that anyone who will take the comments on that page to heart is not likely to have any real interest in LBT anyway.

I do not see the connection between democracy and communism except for their shared fate of being never totally realized in their desired forms.
Democracy (indirect democracy in a modern definition) refers to the right of people (meaning all inhabitants of a country) to choose their own government with each citizen having just no more or less than one vote. The right to express the own thoughts freely, is not by definition attached to democracy and yet it was an important element of democracies in the modern age.
Communism on the other hand refers more to economical aspects of running a country and requires all the means of production to be public (or rather state owned possession).
I do not see any communist tendencies in any modern democracy (on the contrary, I rather see a threat from a perverted form of capitalism). But I would be interested in your opinion about it and in which modern democracies you see communist structures.
Republik then again is somewhat similar to democracy with the head of government being elected rather than having the right to rule by birth (as in monarchies). However, while nowadays a monarchy may well be democratic (e.g. Great Britain) a republic has definitely only an elected leader. Other than that the difference between both is somewhat blurred and I would be happy about more information on this. Also the word democracy is being used somewhat carelessly nowadays and begins to include economical and cultural aspects which originally have nothing to do with the term.
Anyway, I'd be happy about a discussion on this in the after midnight forum. Please tell me why you think that democracy is a glorified form of communism Drew.

I don't think Voltaire would have agreed and neither do I. I do not like what this person is saying and I do not like what many other people are saying, but would that give me or anyone the right to kill and torture? Quite frankly, your stand on this seems very, very scary to me.

I am not really a violent person, I am just ticked at that person and normally wouldn't suggest violence. I have no excuse and appologize for my inapproapiat use of wording there. Well, pages like that are meant for one thing--a joke, and nothing more. They're not made to bash anything. Take it as a joke, not as an arrogant basher. I've read many pages like that about films I like, and I admit, I laugh at them, because its meant to be a parody and not an accurate representation, or there's irony in it (character acting as they shouldn't, etc).
So have a laugh and move on. :yes

Well, I can't say I find those statements (e.g. "Who must we kill?") very funny, even if it wasn't for my favor of land before time. Then again, nobody is forced to read it and with statements such as the one mentioned about the author rids himself of any seriousness. I don't laugh but shrug at it.

I have seen that before also. I honestly can't tell if those are serious reviews or simply anger directed at films targeted towards "a yonger audience". Weird it is, either way. :D

Ya know at first I was a little curious to see what had everyone who had seen this topic in an uproar...but now I can't stop laughing for two reasons...
1. The person who made that page actually took time out of their lives to do it and UPDATE it on the current movies...
and
2. Anyone who sympithises with someone like him obviously never had a real childhood, or at least any good early bithdays...
Now don't get me wrong I know that there are plently of people out there who either don't know what LBT is, or when you ask them they simply don't care, but I think anyone who can sit at a computer and take up valuable time, energy and resourses to bash an enitre film collection........well let's just say I hope they never become a childs film critic... otherwise Disney and Universal are in trouble :lol

Erm, Don Bluth. "All Dogs Go to Heaven" (one of my all time favorites) has death, heaven, AND hell in it =D There you go.
Also, I guess "Prince of Egypt" was a childrens movie...
In anycase, I'm not against people have opinions and I know a lot of people dislike these kinds of movies. What bothers me, though, is that the reviews are too angry to be considered serious reviews, and too short to provide any real comedy. I've read a lot of mocking reviews of movies/TV (on i-mockery.com and televisionwithoutpity.com), where even if I love the show/movie the reviews are too hilarious to take any offense too. These reviews are just too lacking to provide amusement =\ they're lazy, in my opinion. Oh well...

These (http://ekarj.com/landbeforetime.htm) Reviews DO have one for 12 and 13, and they are the same as the first guy <_< . I just hate it when people write these things! It makes me just want to hunt them down and beat them repeatedly, but that is the anger side of me. In my opinion, i think they just want to make these reviews to anger the true fans of LBT. Every time i find one of these, i can't resist to post a comment about it and give the author my thoughts about it. (a.k.a. being seriously mean to him/her.) I know everyone has their own opinions, but this is one of the things i can't stand no matter what i do. :angry:

I wonder if they even watch the movie. They may only take the plot from the description, maybe watch clips of the add, or watch only bits of the movie. THough like I said not everyone can like everything.

I read this a while back. Honestly, for being an instructor (if I'm correct on his career choice), he must not have a busy schedule to be coming up with such crap like this. The only reason any of it is funny is because it's so stupid! I have nothing against religious or spiritual themes in animated movies. Hunchback of Notre Dame is a fine example. In the case of LBT, I have nothing against the level of supernatural phenomena expressed in the series. There is no specific religion focused on, nor is it too preachy. But this SOB is a quack of an educator, or might I politely put it, degenerator of human intelligence! People like him wonder why they end up getting their a**** kicked!

Well, first I'd have to get his IP. Then I'd have to trace his IP and find his ISP. I'd have to call them up and request information about who they're servicing to make sure it's not a public computer. Too much work for me and I don't see a point in sending viruses to someone you've never met when you can't even see their reaction as their computer explodes. :rolleyes: The only time I send worms or viruses is when I'm under attack by a hacker. :p I doubt destroying this dude's computer would do anything to stop him from bashing LBT 14 on his little website so there's really no point. I don't know how new you are to forums, but the use of smilies can help to illustrate that. It is vital when you're joking that you illustrate that because we have many members that are not 100% fluent in English, which can lead to misunderstandings.

For the record, the admins are quite uptight on folks using derogatory statements outside of the AM section. Thought I'd let ya know so the topic does not end up getting locked :rolleyes:. I'm sure some folks agree with ya, but any obscenity used is best censored or not used at all. I personally despise censorship, but in the case of the GOF forum it is a necessity in order to keep the peace among the community ;). I just don't want ya to get in hot water, Jedi472 B).
There's only one positive that came out of this site: because he is a hater, I doubt the info regarding an LBT 14 release is false :yes. Hey, it's more reliable than Wikipedia :lol.

I don't blame him for hating LBT. Most people over 6 or 7 do, but he doesn't have to go around making bashing websites. It takes a certain kind of person to continue to like something even though it's not considered "cool" or "normal". I don't expect someone as dumb as him to do that, but I do expect him to keep his opinions to himself unless asked directly about how he feels. There was no excuse for creating that bashing site and anyone who's proud of him is just immature and dumb.

It was funnier near the beginning, where he parodizes actual aspects of the movies. By the time he reaches around the sixth movie, he starts making stuff up, and it's not nearly as funny. (Though his comments on reading the name of Movie 11 made me laugh).
I'd have thought the author'd have updated it by now. I guess he doesn't go back to his old pages. I'd love to read his review of LBT 13.
