Is there a spot to post links to forums a member has made?
I have a MLP FiM forum that needs more members, but I dont wanna break any rules.
If I can link on here, I'll link back onto the pony one.

It does take a few eps to get into it.
I was hesitent at first, but after I got a few eps in I was all
"This is SO much better than the stuff on tv now!"

I did read that bit some place.
That's the main reason why a lot was cut.

A lot of Bluth's stuff was dark even with the stuff that was kept in.
I hear a lot of stuff was cut out of All Dogs and that movie was pretty dark too.

I just looked up LBT trivia and picked out what sounded good.

The Thunderfoot bit, I read, was because there was another dino in a book (I think) with the same name.

I did'nt come across Littlefoot being female. Only that Cera was supposed to be a male. Which may have left Ducky to be the only female.

1988 Theatrical Release / First movie uncut version Where?
« on: June 16, 2011, 11:26:08 PM »
Seeing the pics in the other topic and remembering what was on my tape...it's not uncut.
Has anyone tried downloading/looking for the film in other languages?

Thought of putting this in brain food, but it said for non-LBT related things, so I hope here is okay.

I love looking up trivia/mistakes/ect of movies I like. Here are some interesting things I did'nt know and thought you'd all like to read.

1.) During development, Cera started out as a male triceratops called 'Bambo'. It was George Lucas's idea to make Cera a girl triceratops.

2.) Steven Spielberg and George Lucas originally wanted the film to have no dialog, like the Rite of Spring sequence in Fantasia (1940). But, to make the film appealing to children, they abandoned this idea, and got actors and actresses to do the voices.

3.) The role of Ducky was Judith Barsi's favorite of her own film roles.

4.) Originally planned for release in fall, 1987. Production was delayed by a year due to the relocation of Sullivan Bluth Studios to Dublin, Ireland.

5.) The Haunted Mansion thunderclap is heard right at the beginning of the first storm, when it frightens Baby Cera.

6.) 29 species of animals were featured in this film. 5 of them were already extinct by the time the movie was set.

7.) The film's theme song, "If We Hold on Together", was sung by 'Diana Ross' and became a huge hit in Japan. It did so well there that it became a karaoke standard.

Do you guys have stuff to add?

I have seen many american VHS's around where I live. Especially the old ones in the cardboard cases.
The thrift shops and a local video buy-out store have had em.

I can go find these copies and send them to those who want  em.

Dont worry, Dash is on the bottom on my list as well. You'd think one such as myself would since she sports a rainbow mane and tail.

I did'nt see the animation comming across as "fanime" to me. I was kinda hesitent at first because its not the original 80's I grew up with.
Then seeing the other gens come out (minus my little pony tales) made me loose fiath in the pony franchise all together.
Thou something did spark a like with me for this series.
I agree that each ep is amazing. I also love the songs they come up with. Each one I fully enjoy...especially the commercial song Equestria Girls.

The Fridge / GOF chatroom?
« on: June 16, 2011, 01:32:30 AM »
If you guys want to start up a GoF chat room XAT has free ones to use.
You could always set up a day and time for GoF members to come together and chat. Admins and mods can even post and show youtube vids on XAT.
It also has a doodle board.

Its something to look into.

The Fridge / How often do you go to the movie theaters?
« on: June 16, 2011, 01:26:16 AM »
Depending on what's out.
I normaly go see just about every animated movie out there. I rarely see live action unless it's something that really interested. So basically go to the movies whenever an animated flick comes out.

Helping to bump a bit:

I accually found a very old tape of The Secret Of NIMH. so the possibility of comming across an uncut vhs of LBT could be a possibility.
Check local thrift stores. I have a VHS copy of LBT and I see at least one copy when I go to thrift.
Its an older copy that I have too with the cardboard case. I doubt it has what you guys are looking for thou...
