OK, here's another idea...

Type:  Furry/Human Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi

Setting:  Houston, Texas.  2050 A.D.  A mysterious biological epidemic targets the human population, killing billions in a matter of months, and driving the survivors underground.  This placed the other races in control of most of the world.  New vicious conflicts emerged concerning the fate of the rest of humanity.  Some try to keep their resident populations alive, but seal them in domed cities, leaving poverty and crime to reign.  Other make more active attempts to find cures and vaccines.  And yet others believe that mankind must be ultimately destroyed.

Even the humans were forced to take sides.  Some also try to find a cure and safe haven for the survivors, especially those running from the furs wanting to destroy them.  Other blame the furs for the plague, and create factions for revenge.  Somehow, a handful of humans have immunities to the biological contagion, and would either be sought for cures or extinction.

Rules:  PG-13 only.  Nothing terribly graphic.

The Plague is a permanent airborne bacterium of a complicated structure, and very hard to cure.  There will be no cure until MUCH later.

Humans can no longer be in open air without special respirators or vehicles shielding them from the Plague.  Exceptions include the Immune.

The Immune are humans that cannot be affected by the plague.  There are no other powers.

Technology is limited to today's modern standards.  The epidemic has caused new developments to be set decades back if not failed outright.  Only new technologies are for defenses against the Plague.

No mythical creatures.  Only existing creatures and real creatures now extinct.

Factions:  The United States of Gaia - Formerly the United States of America before the Plague, and retains all borders and original laws, except ruled by a Roman-style Senate and a Prophet.  Fully funding to save humans in their nation, they constructed special domed cities bordering existing cities, and organized the Bureau of Genetic Research and Development for the Survival of Humanity, or the "Bureau".  The Bureau was created from elements of NASA, FBI, United Nations, and various military science companies devoted to combating the Plague.

Red Claw Faction - An anti-human political power, lead by its own Prophet, trying to gain global power to annihilate humanity.  This created many bloody coups and conflicts with other nations.  Unable to defeat more powerful countries, and dubbed as a terrorist organization, the Red Claw resorts to guerrilla and terrorist cells to cause trouble in the United States of Gaia.

Gun Hawks - A human guerrilla fighter team of former soldiers, based in Texas.  Although no longer a force of law, they actively attempt to keep humanity alive, even by illegal means.  This means finding the Immune for assistance, safely transporting people of interest, and facing any threats to mankind.  They are often referred as "Gaia's Lost Knights" by the USG Prophet, and "Unit 5, American Division" by the USG armed forces and United Nations.

United Animal Kingdom - Formerly the coalition of England, Wales, & Scotland now under control of a new Prophet after the original royal family were killed by the Plague.  Many of its scientists venture to the USG to assist the Bureau in their research, as well as some protection from various threats.

Geneti-Tech Medical Corporation - A human-run science organization that has also devoted time, though little compared to the Bureau, to the cure.

This sounds interesting! I wish I didn't have to be at work in an hour... but regardless, I'll be adding my characters once I get off of work. OF that you can be assured.

This sounds very interesting, and I want to give it a try but I haven't the slightest idea about how to role play. But still, I would like to give it a try.

Justin, here are some places to read out first to know the rules of RPG:

Role Play Discussion, Rules for the RP Discussion Board

Random Role Play, Basic rules and regs for RPG participation

Here are some simple rules and advice in taking part in an RPG like this:

Read rules of each story and remain in its foundation.  You can add and discuss ideas that could be used to help the story.

Read every player's posts before you respond.

With your own character, stay true to its character, even if it happens to be modeled after you.

Don't role play when you're angry or in any other mood contrary to your character.

Take time to wait for your fellow players to respond, and take time to plan out what to write next.

Never take control of characters that belong to other players.  Only imply that you are about to do something to another player's character, and they decide what happens next.  (I.E.  Player A's character throws a punch at Player's B's character, and Player B decides if his character is hit or dodges.)

When you want to discuss something out-of-character (OOC), either discuss it here in RP Discussion, or in the story, ((write in double parenthesis)) or after typing OOC.  These will suggest you're talking out of character.

Have fun, be open-minded, give new ideas, and don't be afraid to speak up if you're having trouble.

That's all I can think of right now.

Brief History:  Little is known about Anubis other than the possibility he may have led a not-very-known terrorist organization.  But when the Plague hit, he somehow managed to momentarily pirate the global airwaves and preaches the end of mankind.  This united other anti-human groups into what is now known as the Red Claw Faction, and ignited a series of bloody coups across the world, mostly unsuccessful, with a few exceptions in a half-dozen weakened countries.  He now sends videos to preach direct attacks against the Immune and sympathizers attempting to find the cure to the Plague.

Hope this is OK...

Name: Sardolemuel Beck
Age: 31
Species: Otter
Gender: Male
Occupation: Soldier, Captain
Faction: USG
Weapons: standard issue sidearm, assault rifle
Description: Light brown dorsal fur with a lighter, off white ventral fur for the underbelly. 6', gray eyes.
Personality: Very serious about his work, though remains popular with his subordinates as well. Follows orders, but has a slightly ambitious streak. Does his duty, but can't help to shake the feeling that despite the best efforts of the Bureau, humanity may in fact be a doomed race, and often times struggles to stay focused on protecting them.
Brief History: Raised in a military family since birth, he knew his calling was to join the armed forces. Drafted for intense training on the jungle island of New Georgia in the Solomon Islands chain, Sardolemuel spent the first two years of his service in the South Pacific. Returning to take command of a diplomatic protection unit called Scharnhorst, Captain Beck mostly led escort missions of humans between domes, as well as of government officials. His latest assignment has him posted to the Bureau's research facility in Houston, an assignment he greets with mixed feelings, as he isn't entirely sure that a cure for the Plague can be found.

Glad you liked it! I'll probably add a few more characters in as they come to me, as character creation is the hardest part about RPs for me. :p

^ I find character creation rather easy to me.  For a story, I create characters that don't hog all the attention over other characters, but they prove they're not useless either.  The first four of my chars have a much larger impact for the immediate game, but they're not taking the glory of the story itself, and I'm sure one of them will die somewhere down the line.

While we wait for more players, I'll explain out the map for the story, for I doubt we'll do any cross-country stuff in the first part of this story:

The focus on the region will be the area of Texas, between San Antonio and Houston.  There will be a human dome in northeast Houston, next to Trinity Bay.  The only humans elsewhere in this region will be where the Gun Hawks are sheltered underground of Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.  The Bureau's facility, where the Immune are kept, is covertly hidden underground the Brown Shipbuilding Industrial Park, the river of which leads out to sea.
