Its spring...and thanks to my WD prank, I've left bits and pieces of my color scheme and image change still up because....I kind of like it. :) The background you see is not the one that was up for a while (I think Tim fixed the image and he was hosting it so we have to wait for him) but I think the leaf we had will work with this color scheme. Right now I know the "add reply" buttons are with gold pawprints, but they can be easily modified to saurian prints.
What say you guys?
Adam
-
I like the green but I don't really like the pawprints.
-
I agree with Iris.
The green is neat, but I'd like the old action buttons back. No pawprints.
It would seem that the background is slightly darker, isn't that right?
Green. Yeah, it looks good.
-
I agree as well. The green looks fantastic :)
-

Hmm Adam said this wasn't the original one and he has to wait for Tim to give him the link to the image we had before. So with that I assume it will be back to normal in some time?
-
I agree with Gustav in every respect. I really like the green while I think that the answer buttons ought to be changed.
-

I just changed the background back to the one we had before. This one is darker and lower-contrast, with more blue and less pixelation than the other one, which seems to just generally look "cleaner", I think.

About the paw prints, I actually preferred the leaves as well. If anyone wants to try to modify the prints, I'm game for taking a look. :)
-
It is different but I do like the green.
It's just maybe the answer button tabs that could be restored back to the original.
Other than that, I like the green (and Spike pictures).
-
Hello:
I agree, the green theme looks good and it matches with the Spike pics, so I think you should keep it.
-
The green reminds me a bit of one of our predecessor boards. Remember the old Great Valley board Adam and Nick?
The color there was similar.
-
Yeah I remeber that. I remwember it also had a nice pic of Ali and littlefoot.. your friend Christian put it up IIRC Malte..
-
The green is awesome, but the rabbit footprints look a little out of place :)
-
Aw, man! My favorite threehorn is no longer the icon :cry2! Just messin' with ya. I like how a different character is used now and then. As for the green, it bothered my eyes at first but now I'm used to it :yes. It's nice to change things now and then I guess ;).
-
The green to me is calming to look at. Very beautiful skin Adam. :D
-
It make sense, since its Spring time
-
Give me a little bit to see if I can create different Add Reply button themes.
-
Check the buttons now...yay or nay? Its a bit of a squished footprint.
-
I like the new design.
-
I like the new buttons :yes.
-
I love the green, but I'm not too sure about the paw prints since they seem a little squished looking.
-
I personally disagree. I like the blue better because I think it goes better with the background and banner. I also gotten used to it after all this time. However, the paw prints are cool, and I'll live if we do decide to stick with the green.
-
It is nice to change once in a while I think.
-
its pretty refreshing to say the least. Overall I'd say its better than the old one
-
Much better
-
Sorry, no. I don't like the buttons.
-
On that note, neither do I... :p The old ones were better, IMO.
-
I'll third that. I liked the old ones better. (not the Pawprints)
-
Do we still have the old tresstar-shaped buttons of the Great Valley board Adam? I think those might fit very well with the green design and our background picture too, as I have to agree the buttons as they are now look a little blotted.
-
i really think the buttons should be changed back to tree stars because they looked so much better.....but these will have to do if the buttons arnt changed back
-
Ya, these buttons really need to go, the green is ok though
-
Wow! An all-rounder thumbs down for the footprint buttons eh? Think the treestar panels might need to make a reappearance Petrie! :lol Liking the green though, a nice subtle change with the change in season ;)

How the hell do you remember this stuff? :p No I don't have them anymore. If they still exist somewhere, maybe archive.org would have them, and then if we could remember the board address. Might just have to start from scratch.
If anyone wants to try and make new ones go for it in the meantime, otherwise I'll see what I can craft tonight. It doesn't really matter to me if I make the buttons or not.
-

Just how could I forget :p
I checked out the old board (http://p066.ezboard.com/Welcome-to-the-Great-Valley/bwelcometothegreatvalley) hoping to find the links still there, but they are all gone (same as the messages :cry) I'm afraid.
-
The new buttons are very nice, correspond with the whole green theme.
-
That thing is...way gone. :p :p
-
May I request to change the buttons back to what they were before?
-
Found a realistic treestar....how about this?
May I request to change the buttons back to what they were before?
I think the blue images (at night) would clash too much with the green for it to work. If we went back to the blue theme, then yes it would work.
-
Those are pawprints? They look like treestars no offense. I don't know if I've told anyone this, but green is my least favorite color. :p It's all right, but the "pawprints" have got to go. They look like they were made in photoshop 6 or something. If the green is to be kept than the background has to be changed in my opinion. The green and the background clash too much. Sorry if I seem kind of critical. Just trying to express my opinion.
I could probably make some decent reply buttons using a new version of photoshop. Treestars would be the likely thing to use. If you want me to make new ones, just let me know and I'll get on it. :)
-
The images have changed a lot through the thread. What you see now was a crop job of a realistic-looking treestar. Yes, I know its not perfect...I don't have megabuck programs here. :p
(The pawprints are gone so no pawprints)
-
Ah okay. So that explains it. Well just so long as they're supposed to be treestars I guess they're okay. I was seriously like WTF? Pawprints??? :lol
-
Eh well.. whatever
-
Truth to be told I'm not overly happy with the new buttons either. Anyone not very much into LBT (or not reading this thread) might not recognize them as treestars for lack of structure. I created two sets of treestar buttons. What do you think, might these work out better?

I'm not fond of these buttons either.
What can I say? Maybe we should create some new, as Austin claimed.
It wouldn't be so much of a fuzz? :)
EDIT: Didn't see yours Malte, net is running low today.
They look quite the okay, except for the yellow. I do not fancy yellow.
"Gult ‰r fult" (Swedish rhime, and it means "Yellow is ugly") :smile
-
Are you referring to the ones currently in use or the drafts in the message preceding yours?
-
He means the ones you posted.
-
Actually Austin's treestar image thing will probably do the best. I just glanced at this and realized it looked pretty good.

-

No he didn't. He edited his post. Except for the yellow script he seems to be okay with them (used the yellow as it was in the existing buttons and as it stands out from the green and the dark background without making too sharp or "non-organic looking" a contrast).
I agree that Austin's treestar would look fine as a button. Do we have an image of just the treestar without any script on it, so it can be resized and provided with the right inscription?

I would belive he has it lying around somewhere.
It looks nice indeed, but it's pretty small.
But maybe the orginal is larger?
-
I don't have the treestar by itself. I'll get a PM to Austin about it.
-
one thing about me once I can reply to people I'm OK
-
These new 'Add Replay', 'Fast Reply' Buttons look Awesome.
-
Now that's what I'm talking about! ;)
-
You have Austin (landbeforetimelover) to thank. He made them.
-
The buttons look absolutely fantastic! Excellent work Austin! :yes
-
Thanks for the compliments guys. It wasn't too hard. It was harder to set the time aside than it was to actually make them. 99% of my photoshop projects take less than an hour to complete unless they're full screen backgrounds or images. :)

Did I mention I like the Kung Fu Ducky? :p

I smell captions! :wow
Superb work on the Star Buttons Austin! They look prima! :yes
-
Aye, from which movie or episode is the shot Austin?
-
Did I mention I like the Kung Fu Ducky?
:lol
I smell captions!
Yeah. It didn't look good enough for captioning in the original image, but when cut out it certainly works well for captioning. :lol :D

Land before Time X. About 05:00 into the movie. ;)

I LOVE IT!!!! :DD

What did you use exactly to cut out the image?
-
What did you use exactly to cut out the image?
Photoshop CS3 Extended. Any photoshop of a lesser variant (ie CS2, CS etc.) couldn't have done it correctly.
-
I don't know why, but everytime I came here with the blue color scheme I felt a tone of depression  Blue just screams sad in my mind. The green is a much more happy and uplifting color. :yes
