General Land Before Time / Character Interactions You’d Like to See
« on: April 02, 2017, 05:45:07 AM »
Personally I'd like to see Cera speak to her dad about her mother. That would've make for a very emotionally-filled moment as well as clear up the confusion regarding the fate of a character we only ever seen in the original movie and then never heard of since.

Sorry about those experiences, Coyote_A. I only rarely had to deal with such people so far, but I can see why that might sour you on fictional versions of such difficult individuals.
Hahaha, yeah. I guess I'm being overly negative. Sorry about that. :DD

Silver Screen / Moana

I remember seeing the trailer for this movie back when I went to watch Rogue One and then I was like "looks neat. I should totally watch it". A-a-and I forgot all about it until recently. :D It's a decent movie, with great visuals and an inspiring atmosphere... Even if the script wasn't very strong. Seriously, saw the plot twist coming since the prologue scene with Maui.

I'll be honest to you. I hate those guys. Having to deal with lots of similar characters growing up I came to view bullies as not so much a stereotype, but an archetype of a gutless, mentally weak people who lack the will and strength needed not to give into their aggresive feelings... And that's about it. I hate these guys just as much as I despise any person who'd behave like them in real life. Not much more to add. :)

The Fridge / Why do people obsess about zombies?

I'm very doubtful a zombie apocalypse of any kind could happen though. It is an interesting thought though, surviving in such a world.
Honestly, I don't think we even need any kind of virus to make the zombie apocalypse scenario real.  As soon as the resources on this poor little blue globe of ours will start to deplete it'll be on without the need to make the population any more animalistic!..

Happy thought of the day, I know. <_<

Character Discussion / The old One

As for why Old One comes to approve of Chomper when she learns all the facts…I’m still unsure. I’m sure I can make up a explanation that gells with her previous leeriness of change but the closest I can think of at the moment is maybe bumping into other herds of all kinds, both single species and mixed, loosened her up? I’m not sure but it was interesting to extrapolate a character like Old One despite her having a limited amount of screen time.
The Old One's herd had only started migrating after their home turned into the Land of Mist, so when we first meet them in the 4th movie they're probably still getting used to this new life. And from what we saw of their place in flashbacks it would appear that longnecks were the only big dinosaurs inhabiting it. So maybe that's where the Old One's and Ali's wary demeanour towards other species comes from... Yes, this seems logical. :yes
I wonder where the herd's leader got the scar around one of her eyes though. Couldn't have been from one of the bellydraggers since it doesn't look recent.

I guess it just serves to show that you can't really go on for several movies about dinosaurs without ever bringing the term itself into it. :)

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Is there a potential for a reboot?
« on: March 07, 2017, 02:55:23 PM »
If you want to critisize something, then critisize it! Don't just say it's "awful" over and over and over and over and over again. Be constructive.  <_<

When I said "low-key", I was actually talking about the TV series itself, not the entire franchise.
Ah, alright, I gotcha. Yeah, I know some people who watched some LBT movies, but never even heard about the TV series. Can't say I blame them... While there definitely were some good things about it, the TV series wasn't perfect for sure.

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Is there a potential for a reboot?

Honestly, I doubt it. I think the channel higher-ups would actually approve an original dinosaur series over a reboot/second season of this series, given how low-key it seems to be.
Except it's not. Tons of people grew up with Land Before Time, while dinosaurs as a theme for movies, TV series or other forms of entertainment to this date never got as popular as they did during the 90s. So it might be safer to go with a franchise that instantly has some recognition. Problem is - it's also becoming kind of a joke for those people who mostly see the Land Before Time as "that awesome movie that was milked for all its worth already". And that outlook stems from that the makers of LBT sequels always went the easy, extremely kids-friendly route and didn't do enough to freshen up the series... But it's never to late for them to learn. :D

General Land Before Time / When should we expect news about LBT 15?

Yup, have to keep the record of being the longest running series of animated movies for kids. :)

Good news for all Pterano fans then. LBT 15 might be about him  :lol
Yeah. He was only sentenced for one year of exile... About darn time that flyer came back, especially since he's been mentioned so many times in the TV series (which technically serves as a prelude to LBT14, since it at the very least explains where Chomper and Ruby came from). :)

Well, they are going to make "Jurassic World 2" in 2018, so maybe someone at Universal will think "we just didn't do it well enough"!.. Or maybe they'll at least make a new season of the TV show. :)

The Fridge / Your Least Favorite Chore
« on: March 04, 2017, 06:34:06 PM »
Problem is, there are some members of our family that most people try not to get involved with. But they're old and need help with things, so I volunteered to check on them every now and then, ask if they need anything. But recently it's been getting harder and harder... I realize that I might've been too eager to lend a hand, because now they not only ask for way too much attention, but also try to influence my worldview and get me to join their church, etc. Basically it's getting awkward.

Having to phone some of my extremely religious relatives is becoming a very unpleasant chore recently. Previously they'd avoid talking to me about that kind of stuff, but that's not the case anymore and so whenever I call to learn if they need anything, we risk getting into an argument. <_<

That's a pretty interesting idea. Could've justified the existence of the sequels a bit more.
Aye. Survival in the changing world was a huge part of the original movie's theme and they kind of threw that out with the sequels, only to remember that idea every once in a while, like with Ali's herd backstory in the 4th movie. :(

The year was 2030. Among the scorhed sands and toxic rubble of the dying world doomed by Emperor Trump's tyranical rule a glimmer of hope arises: the word of mouth has it that someone somewhere is making Land Before Time XV!
