I start with a question. You answer it and then create another question. Sound easy enough?
The last question posted on our old host was done by Malte and as of now, nobody has answered correctly.
Malte wrote:
Okay, here we go.
Many LBT characters have names based on the kind of dinosaur they are. Once however a dinosaur (who doesn't play any important role in the movie I'm talking of and is just a total background character) is named by the actual name of it's kind, just the ending "-saurus" has been left out. Which movie ist it, who says the name? And what is the name?
-
Sue from the tenth film? (supersaurus?) Malte?
-
Nope.
I'll give you another hint, as this might really be a difficult one. The character is addressed with this name (really just the -saurus is missing as a difference to the name of that character's kind), but the character is so unimportant that not even a single word is uttered by that character. One really has to search for that character.
-
<_< I will figure this one out!!! I considered Tickles but he's important....
-
Erm...you're not talking about Nod from LBT 3 are you? Nod's breed is a Nodosaurus which belonged to the Ankylosaurs group of dinosaur. Is that who you're after?
-
Nope, nope, nope!
Remember the actual question:
Many LBT characters have names based on the kind of dinosaur they are. Once however a dinosaur (who doesn't play any important role in the movie I'm talking of and is just a total background character) is named by the actual name of it's kind, just the ending "-saurus" has been left out. Which movie ist it, who says the name? And what is the name?
Neither Tickles (who's species is not absolutely sure; most likely a Megazostrodon, but that wouldn't even be a dinosaur) nor Nod are ever addressed like that (In Nod's case someone would have to call him "Nodo" to met the criterion). And as I said, this character doesn't speak a single word in is not important for the story. I hid one further hint in this message (a very subtle one though).
-
Is there any stego? I'm just guessing.. I've never seen LBT 8,9 and 10 so I don't know if there is such a caracter, but that name looks like fitting
-
Guess what? I don't knnoooooowwwwwwwww. :P I've tried many times but I just can't figure it out.
-
Just to give all of you a Tip I gave NewOrder in the chat. It is not from a movie he didn't see. So it is not from LBT 8, 9 or 10.
-
OH MY GOD!!! Malte how could you make such a brain teaser so early in the morning (but you were right!)
It's LBT 6, they're looking for the twins (Dana and Dinah) and Ducky searches under Mrs. Mia. "Sorry Mrs. Mia, I....woah." ;)
I'm absolutely positive I have it right but I'll wait just to make sure.
And, we have a chat room?
-
Sure enough you are right Arvens..
But does she say "Mia"? It sounds more like "Maia" to me and the dinosaur she was talking to was a Maiasaurus.
-
AH!! I've only seen the brazilian version and in there she only says: "Oh sorry... I.." =p
-
So it's your turn with the next question Arvens.
-
:o My bad.
This isn't easy but we'll see if someone can get it.
This deals with the soundtrack...there's one part in one of the songs where a part of the song is different on the soundtrack than it is in the film. Just so you guys know it is NOT the added section in "Rescue/Discovery of the Great Valley". There is a part in another long track where an instrument is heard in the film during the sequence, but it is not heard on the soundtrack.
What is the track, what is the musical instrument, and where is it in relation to the film?
Good luck. :)
-
Hmm...no replies....hint time.
It's during an action sequence.
-
Ok, another hint...
It happens at 7 minutes 30 seconds on the track so that removes about half of the soundtrack from the picture. ;)
-
I think I got it. During the fight between Littlefoot's mother and the sharptooth, before the begining of the earthquake you can hear a sort of deep bass drum or something like that on the soundtrack. The same instrument is not played during the movie.
I have my next question ready, but as I'm not absolutely certain if my answer is the one that is expected I'll wait for your confirmation or decline Captain Arvens. I don't want to put up a question before I'm entirely sure that the last one has been answered correctly.
-
Ermmm...no. You don't quite got it. You have the right time, but really you need to play that section on the soundtrack as well as on the film and you'll immediately see what I'm after...it's the reason the drums sound so much louder on the soundtrack, because something's missing....
I'll give one more hint, Sharptooth and the Earquake (track 2) between the times of 7:30 and 7:40. ;) I can't give any more hints.
-
I listened to the part carefully and I can't help hearing that there is more than one instrument missing. Apart from the bass drum I mentioned before there are two more instruments. I'm hideously bad at recognizing instrument, but the one seems to be a strike of cymbals, and the other one seems to be a brass instrument. Could be a trombone.
-
Oh man, I swear you have the right place but I must ask one thing. You say it's a trombone...where is the instrument coming from (left channel or right channel if it is in stereo)?
-
I'm sorry, but I can't say that. The English land before time video I have is a copy a friend sent me for my birthday. You can listen to it only as Mono (otherwise you'll hear only rustling). As for the trombone, I can only guess it's a trombone, some kind of brass instrument for sure.
-
Ok, I'll give it to you. It's not a trombone, it's a trumpet and if you could hear it in stereo it would be out of the right channel.
Oddly enough it's heard in the film but not in the soundtrack...kind of like somebody forgot to play the part when they were recording it. ^_^
For any of those that couldn't locate it on the film, it happens right before Littlefoot and Cera nearly get crushed by Littlefoot's mother's foot in the sharptooth scene.
-
Quite frankly, I cannot tell a trumpet from a trombone by the sound. I could only compare what I heard to the sounds my music keyboard gives, and there it sounded more lie the keyboards trombone.
Anyway, next question. In one of the LBT sequels a direct statement is made about the composition of the population of the Great Valley. It's a statement that can easily be disproved by watching earlier sequels (sad example for how little they care about the content of previous sequels when they create an LBT movie). What statement is it, and why is it disproved by earlier sequels?
-
Hi Malte
Sorry to be bothering you but I didn't quite get the question can you explain it.. sorry but my brain doesn't usually work at this hours =P
-
Yes, I'm afraid the whole question is formulated somewhat complicate. Unfortunaltely writing it in a more distinct way answers half of the question already. Anyway, it makes no sense if the question is formulated too complicate, so here it is more plainly:
One LBT movie claims that a certain kind of dinosaurs doesn't regularly live in the Great Valley. Name the movie, the kind, and some (at least two) examples for appearances of this kind in previous LBT movies.
-
LBT VIII was all about stegosauruses so I think there were stegosauruses in LBT III if I remember correctly. ;)
-
Yes, and there have been stegosauruses in LBT 2, LBT 5, and LBT 7 as well. I'm not absolutely sure, but I think some were shown in LBT 4 and 6 too, so again this lack of regard for earlier sequels made me frown a bit over LBT 8.
Anyway, yours is the next question.
-
I didn't think I got that right! :)
Okey dokey....
How many siblings does Petrie have (don't look at sequels for this answer as they really don't know!)
-
In the original LBT tehre's a scene when Petrie goes to his mother and his brothers are there with her.. Their 5, 3 brown ones who maybe are male and 2 blue ones who are probably females =P
-
Yep yep yep, that's correct. Your turn to give a trivia question.
-
hmm...
There are two types of sharpteeth that don't get waht they want but who aren't much bothered with it, I want you to name the kinds of sharpteeth the movies and how the gang escaped.. hint: I've only seen lbt 1 to 7 and 9
-
The swimming sharptooth in LBT 9, which I think is a Liopleurodon (spelling may be wrong), didn't seem to be too bothered by the escape of the kids. They escaped as Mo lured the beast away and then hid. When the swimming sharptooth smelled the ocean it just swam home (so it didn't seem to be too bothered).
There are no distinct hinds I remember about any other sharpteeth being particularly NOT bothered by the kids escape, so I can only guess.
The sharpteeth in LBT 3 (Dinonychus or Velociraptors), who maybe were too relieved that they escaped themselves (after the kids broke the dam so the water almost drowned them) to be all too bothered about the kids getting away?
-
Yup you got it... next time I'll try to do something harder =P So it's your turn Malte (=
-
It's not easy to come up with hard ones. :P
-
Hi!
It's difficult to find a hard question simply because we all know these movies very well. However, I prefer questions such as the last one (about the content of the movies) from questions where one has to look up the credits. Either way I consider the LBT quiz fun!
Here is the next question. For creative reasons the land before time couldn't take too much care about science. Many of the dinosaurs shown side by side in the movies actually lived millions of years apart from each other. Cera and Ducky for example lived in the late Cretaceous period while Littlefoot and Spike lived in the Jurrassic and Petrie in the early Cretaceous.
In very few cases there are dinosaurs from the Triassic period (previous to Jurrassic) as well. Please name a movie in which a sharptooth from the Triassic period appears, and name the kind of that sharptooth.
-
That's easy... LBT 1 that dimetrodon that Littlefoot, Petrie and Ducky hide of =p I thought dimetrodons were from the carbonian period I'll look it up...
-
Were they really? I've to admit I'm not absolutely sure. I know there was a kind during the carbonian period that resembled Dimetrodon very much (with a sail on the back), but was a herbivore. I think Dimetrodon was from the Triassic, but I cannot put my hand into fire for it.
Anyway, you gave exactly the answer I wanted to hear, if it was too easy I may be should have left out the part about the dino being a sharptooth. However, your answer was correct.
-
Sorry for not posting earlier but I've been kind of busy...
Hmm... In the sequels there is a caracter that helps the gang resolve an argue, although tehy don't enjoy it... I'd like you to tell me the caracter, the argue and he solves it, and the sequel of course =P
-
I'm pretty sure you are refering to Littlefoot's grandfather at the beginning of LBT 5, when he solves the quarrel about the last treestar that had been eaten by Mr. Clubtail while Littlefoot considered it his own (and blamed his friends who thought different about that that it had gone to non of them).
Am I right?
By the way, we were both wrong about Dimetrodon. It lived neither in the triassic, nor in the carbonian period, but a period between those two that began about 285 million years ago. I don't know the English name for that period, and non of my books tells it (can you help out Arvens?), but the German name for it would be "Perm".
-
You're right about the sceen but the character I was looking for wasn't Littlefoot's grandpa but Mr Clubtail.. he solves the argue by eating the las leaf =p
I think in english it's called Permian... It's the last period of the paleozoice era.. I guess
Anyway, it's your turn now
-
^ I should have realized that actually it was Mr. Clubtail who "solved" the quarrel.
Except for LBT 5 there is but only one LBT sequel (sequel, so I'm not refering to old Rooter) in which a cluptail has a sort of active speaking role, though that clubtail remains an anonymous background character. Which movie is it? And what does that clubtail say (not litterally, but just the main point)?
-
I think your talking about that clubtail in lbt 3 that's argueing with Cera's dad about threehorns wasting water... after that he turns to an iguanodon, am I right?
-
Absolutely right! That very same clubtail also dares being sarcastic about Cera's father's fire escape plan later in the movie. Your turn.
-
Hmm...There is a type of dinossaur that in one sequel has a lot of importance for the story, but we only see them again in a another sequel with a very small part almost insignificant, except for one thing... I want you to tell me, what type of dinossaur (it doesn't have to be the scientific name), which sequels, what does it do in the sequel where it isn't important. Good Luck (=
-
Ok, there's two: Mo and Sierra.
I don't know which you want but Sierra had a pretty important role in LBT VII and he flew by very quickly in LBT IX. Mo naturally had a major role in LBT IX, and we jumped out of the water in the LBT X song Adventuring.
-
Nope.. it's non of them, I haven't seen lbt 10 or 8, but I'll give you another hint.. it's on the lbt 1 to 5
-
If you are talking of a type of dinosaurs I suppose the answer is a kind rather than an actual character. Two kinds come to my mind in particular.
Spiketails - (important in LBT 8, with guestappearances in LBT 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and maybe 6, but I don't remember)
Hollowhorns - (also important in LBT 8 with previous appearances in LBT 6 and 7)
-
^ Hmm, yes but NewOrder did say he hasn't seen LBT VIII so I'm not sure he would've know that. ;)
-
Yup.. I've actually saw it this afternoon =P but those aren't the types I was looking for.. I'll give you another hint.. it's not a leafeater =P
-
I would suspect it to be a creature similar crocodile then. In LBT 4 the crocodile Dil played an important role, while there are appearances of crocodiles in background roles in other LBT movies. Something like a crocodile is at the very beginning of the first movie, there is something similar to a crocodile at the beginning of LBT 6, and a crocodile attacks Littlefoot and the others in LBT 10. However, as you haven't seen LBT 10 and those other crocodiles were really inconspiciously I seriously doubt that my answer is right.
-
I didn't thought it would be this hard... It's a dinosaur, it plays a very important part in one of the sequels and then its species appears again in another sequel.. but they pratically don't dp anything and it's on any of the sequels from lbt 1 to 4
-
This is really a difficult one. There are not many kinds of sharpteeht in the sequels. From what what we know it can't be Chomper, as his species is not in LBT 4 or LBT 3 (except for the prologue of LBT 4), as there are other sharptooth species to do the villain job. We've had the crocodile as well, and the only other sharptooth kinds I can think of right now are the raptors from LBT 3 and the Dimetrodon from LBT 1 neither of which play an important role anywhere else. I have to admit I am at a loss right now  .
-
I didn't said they were sharpteeth I said they weren't leafeaters.. this one is really easy when you find out you won't believe you couldn't see it at first
-
Tickles? He is sort of an omnivore, but it can't be the right answer either. There is nobody of his kind in any of the movies other than LBT 4.
-
Hmm...could it be those baby pterodactyls we saw in the first film and the one that tried to save Littlefoot by giving him the cherry? We see baby pterodactyls in LBT IV during the lullaby sung by Grandma.
-
It's none of those... it's sort of a main character.. they can eat leafs but they don't
-
??? In LBT 1, 2, 3, or 4 ???
I have to admit I'm really confused. Not Chomper, not one of the other sharptooth, not Tickles... Petrie is actually an omnivore, but we never get any hind on that.
Archie perhaps? He probably is a herbivore, or maybe an omnivore, but either way he'd probable not pick on leafes.
-
 I really can't see how it's being so hard... That species is a main character that is sort of the bad guys in one of the sequels and completely background in another sequel.. the sequels are from lbt 1 to 4
-
I have no idea who it is...if it isn't a herbivore, who else can it be in the first few films?
-
Heck, how stupid are we!!!!!
Ozzy and Strut of course!
The eggeaters do have a guest appearance in LBT 4, or at least their kind does!
Really, NewOrder, we were very slow indeed!
-
Lol.. it can happen to anyone =p So, I guess it's your turn Malte (=
-
I just wanted the response to be confirmed. But if that one hadn't been right I would have really been at a loss.
There is one phenomenon that can be found at some places in the world, and in two land before time movies. However, while it absolutely confuses two characters in one movie another character in another movie doesn't seem to be confused at all but rather seems to consider it funny, and also has a name for that phenomenon. What am I talking about, and what is the name given to that phenomenon?
-
Could this be an asteroid hitting the earth? It happened in LBT III where Littlefoot and Grandpa loved the scenery but were confused as to what makes the colors. In LBT VII the rainbowfaces didn't seem to mind the idea of asteroids falling.
-
Nope, that's not the one thing I mean. The colors in LBT 3 I suppose were an aurora borealis and had nothing really to do with the asteroids. You won't find the phenomen I'm talking of in LBT 3.
-
Hmmm....give me a day or two...I'll probably figure out if someone else doesn't beat me to it. :P
-
Could it be the echo? It confuses Littlefoot and Ali in the cave in lbt 4 and I think in lbt 8 someone doesn't seem to bother with it.. but I don't know how they call it..
-
Exactly! :)
In LBT 8 Ducky doesn't seem to be confused about it at all and calls it a "talk-back" in LBT 7 she doesn't seem to be very impressed by the echo in the cave she drops in either. While in LBT 4 it confuses Littlefoot and Ali quite a bit.
-
Wow, impressive job there, NewOrder. :) I think just seeing LBT 8 helped you out greatly.
-
Thanks.. Yeah.. It's been about two days since I've seen it =P So now is my turn? Hmm... There is a character that is very common among the sequels but doesn't appear in one of the sequels.. (exept lbt 10 cause I haven't seen it so I don't know...) I want you to tell me who the character is and in which sequel he doesn't show
Good Luck (=
-
Cera's Dad? He is quite important in most of the sequels and appears in all of them except for LBT 4. They just show a Threehorn that is probably him when the Old One tells her story, but he doesn't say or do anything (actually I would expect Mr. Threehorn whose name I believe is "Tops", as he is often refered to as Daddy Tops in the credits, to show at least something when Littlefoot's grandpa is about to die).
-
If Malte's correct that was a good question. :) I might've eventually figured that out.
-
Yup.. he is! Your turn Malte =p
-
^ I'm sure I wouldn't have answered it that quickly if I hadn't been thinking so much about Cera's Dad myself for the story I'm writing at the moment; and I wasn't sure if it was correct.
Hmm... It is very difficult to find a good question such as your last few messages NewOrder which are neither too difficult to be answered nor too easy to be a challange. Good going NewOrder! :)
All of the maincharacter's names refer to their kind of Dinosaur somehow. Whose name actually is the exact "opposite" of the character's kind's scientific name?
-
Didn't we decide Malte when creating the LBT.org character list that Rooter was a hyleaosaurus?
-
^ But would that make his name "Rooter" be the opposite of his kind's scientific name? What does hyleaosaurus mean anyway? At all events he is not the character I'm looking for.
-
Hylaeosaurus means forest lizard =p
Thanks Malte I try to do my best... although I have no idea of which caracter might that be =p
-
It seems to be the same here like with your Ozzy and Strut question NewOrder. Actually the answer is extremely simple and obvious.
-
I'll probably figure it out eventually as usual. ;)
-
When you mean opposite.. it's like if it was triceratops.. it would be Tops? Like Cera's dad.. or opposite like opposite meaning?
-
Usually the scientific names mean something (they are usually Latin or Greek, but the translation of their names can easily be found in books or the internet). And the name of the character I'm thinking of actually means the opposite of a scientific name for this character's kind.
-
I guess I don't understand the question Malte. <_<
-
For exampe Maiasaura means "Good mother lizzard" if there was a Maiasaura character whose name means "Bad mother lizzard" it would be the opposite of her scientific name. The opposite name I'm asking for isn't that exact, but it still describes the opposite of one of the scientific names of the character's kind. Really, it isn't as difficult as it looks.
-
I know that apatosaurs didn't have large brains but Littlefoot is quite smart for his species....am I getting warmer to what you're asking? I'm still not entirely getting what you asked.
-
The name "Littlefoot" has not much to do with intelligence, nor has the meaning of Apatosuarus (which means "Deceptive lizard"). Sure enough the name Littlefoot has nothing to do with deceptivenes either. Still you are thinking in the right direction. Think of the scientific names of one kind, and you may come across it.
-
Could it be Ducky since there are some duckbill dino's that it's name means duck bick or duck mouth or something like that
-
No, there is nothing that contradicts the scientific name in Ducky's name. I did give a hidden hint in the message before before.
-
You can give me all the hints you want but I'm still not catching really what it is.
So I think what you want is a characters name that misrepresents the behavior of their species? Am I right?
-
Well, "behaviour" doesn't really hit the point. "Be heavier" would suit better
I can tell you it's a character we see in more than one movie, so skip Rooter and the like.
-
Well, the pig of the film is Spike, but stegosaurs actually had spikes on their tails for defense so that can't be it....
Not that it makes any difference, but we don't put the 'u' in behavior over here on this side of the Atlantic. Same goes for color, and favorite.
-
^ I sometimes get confused with British and American English
Spike is not the character I'm talking of. I know that the one I'm talking of was planned to be given a name that matched one of his kinds names. However they changed that plan, as they wanted the character's name to sound cuter.
-
Hmm...hazarding a guess here but is it Shorty? I think his species is a Brachiosaurus (I think but dont quote me on that one) and Brachiosaurs were one of the largest dinosaurs around in terms of height. Thus, this is were the conflict lies between the species and the characters name...
How's my aim? ;)
-
Nope. Brachiosaurus means "Armlizard", so called because of his forelegs being longer than the hindlegs while it was the other way round with almost all sauropods (longnecks). Also Shorty appears only once while I said we see the character I'm talking of in more than one movie.
I wonder if I should solve this riddle, but actually it is not THAT difficult. There was a guess in the right direction already. I gave some hints in my responses, but maybe they were to little?
-
Yeah maybe.. I can't figure that one out =p
-
I don't mean to steep on anybody's foot by choosing too difficult questions. But really, once you'll know the answer you'll find it quite obvious. There are many little hinds hidden in my messages. If I would be deceptive about it, I'm sure you would thunder at me. ;)
-
I think we've all taken our guesses so I guess if you just want to tell us and put us out of our misery it would be grateful.
-
Really my messages are swarming with hints. Give it another LITTLE try! Don't thunder at me or stomp with a foot. And as an Italian might say "Pronto".
-
Hmmm...could it be that Littlefoot was considered the longest time to be a Brontosaurus (Thunder Lizard) and those feet of his sure won't make any noise? :D
-
Yeah! That's it!
I tried to put hinds up such as refering to names (plural) of one (singular) kind, writing bold type letters in words such as little and foot. Mentioned thunder and finally the Pronto (sounding similar to Bronto).
Littlefoot was originally meant to be named Thunderfoot, but it didn't sound qute enough.
-
Geez, it's about time someone got it right. :P
There's a scene in the movie where it appears a deleted scene got added in! Where is it?
-
? You mean a movie was released and in a later version another scene was added?
You probably don't, but otherwise it would be difficult to say how that scene was deleted if it was actually in a movie.
The only thing that comes to my mind spontaneously is a scene that is included in the English, but not in the German version of LBT 6, but you can't mean that one.
-
No, no I mean there's a scene in one of the films but you can tell part of it was cut from another part of the movie as a fill in because of the background. I pretty much just gave the whole thing away right there. <_<
-
Is it that scene in lbt 1 when littlefoot finds the great valley alone and then on a different scene he appears with all the others around him and with Petrie on his head?
-
I guess I'd go for that one too. Parts of the discovery of the Great Valley scenes were cut as the original idea was to let Littlefoot discover it after the quarrel with Cera.
-
I'm giving it to NewOrder since he replied first. ;) Yes that is it. In the film when Littlefoot really does discover the great valley if you see those trees behind him those definitely weren't there before. Also when he shouts to the others he's no longer on the rock below. :P
-
Neat.. Hmm...
There is a type of dinossaur that in two of the lbt is showned wrongly with an eating behaviour that isn't the real one that its kind had.. I want you to tell me wich species it is and in wich lbt's it appears. =p
-
erm...im not too sure on this one but...has it got something to do with, I just call them "Skull bashers", but the dinos with the hard skulls that ram into each other head first? (there's a hangover cure for ya! LOL  ) I dont know what their scientific names are but I'm pretty sure that they seem carnivorous in some LBTs (in #1 they attack Cera and again in #4 when they are in the Land of Mists) and in others there are a few of them in the Great Valley and they seem completely tranquil and docile. There's a baby one in #6 at the end when Cera and Littlefoot are telling them the story of "The Great Dinosaur" but I cant remember the LBT where there's an adult one...is it #3?
-
I'm quite sure that Littlefoot-1616 is right.
The only other thing that would come to my mind (and that is not exactly about the eating itself) would be that story about the "hollowhorns" in LBT 8. They are said to use their crests to create a noise so loud that the soundwaves shake leafes from the treetops.
Doesn't sound exactly like a scientific suggestion, does it ;)
-
^ Sounds like an exaggeration. I think we've had that question before and Littlefoot is right. :)
-
Yup.. you got it.. their scientific name is Pachycephalosaurus (no sure of the spelling though..) So it¥s your turn Littlefoot1616
-
I'm afraid Littlefoot-1616 doesn't have regular internet access and also not enough time to post on regular basis. So I'll put up another question not to let the Trivia game dangle too long:
The dinosaurs from the Great Valley have names for different locations in the Great Valley, e.g. "Thundering Falls". There is one place that is only mentioned by name one single time. Which one is it?
-
Is it that swonp thing in lbt 2? (Never heard it's real name they just call it swonp..)
-
^ That could be it but "the sinking sands" are also called "bubbling goo" in later films....
-
The sinking sands were mentioned by name more than once. As (I think) was the bubbling goo (though it was refered to as "bubbling mud" as well). It is not the same place by the way, as it seems to be safe for the kids and alright with their parents if they splash around in that bubbling stuff.
Anyway, the place I rever to was not mentioned two times but only once. The name used in the English version was replaced by a general term in the German version.
EDIT: just to note I thought one letter looked funny but it was hard for me to see that the 'o' in "two" is in bold. ;)
-
Sheltering grass? (I don't know what that has to do with an 'o')
-
^ It doesn't! As I said, Sheltering Grass was mentioned more than once. It is not the place I meant. Look beyond gaps.
-
Is it that place in lbt 2 where Cera sugests the gang goes to live cause the gownups are always givin them a hard time and then they see the egg thieves stelling Ducky's egg?
-
No, that place is not given a particular name, at least not in the English version of the film (is there a name for that place in the Portugese version?). But now that I mention versions, I can't be sure if the place I'm talking of has a name in the Portugese version of that sequel. Which sequels did you watch in English?
-
I think I have the answer to your question....don't they usually only call the ocean Big Water? Elsie called it the sea but they don't use that terminology ever again.
-
Interesting, but it is not the one one I was looking for. But now that you say it, is not Cera's Dad the only one who calls the Big Water Ocean?
-
I hate word games. :P I can't figure IT out. ;)
-
I sort of spellded it out for you.
-
Yes I know but I couldn't put those letters into any word. :P I'm horrible at that game.
-
You don't even need to change their order
-
I see that, but that's not a word, not one in any LBT film either.
-
If you find all the marked letters, you will get one word and the beginning of a second (the name of the place consists of two words). It should not be too difficult to complete the name by completing the second word.
I have to admit though that it may be difficult to recognize which letters were edited and which were not.
-
t-w-o B-o-u-l
Is there a place with two boulders I don't know about?
-
Apparently there is :)
You are very close now.
-
They mention the word boulder in LBT 4...but there's only one there....
-
And it is really an name of an actual location, not of just some rock in the landscape.
-
I just praised another cow as I realize it now...two boulder pass was mentioned in LBT 3 when they were running from fire. :D
-
That's it! Your turn! :)
-
Woo hoo *somersaults* :D Rabbits are agile.
Anyhooo.....
Name something that the kids use their terminology for (i.e. land path = bridge) and later in a song, one of them uses the human terminology for it.
-
The Big Water for the sea? It is used in the song Big Water. However, Elzy and Cera mention the term "sea" later on while Cera's father mentions "Ocean".
-
You never cease to amaze me that you can get it on the first time. :wow
-
Not a big deal as you meantioned that very example while you were guessing about two boulder pass.
There is (fortunately as far as I'm concerned) no human involvement in the land before time. Nevertheless, the word is mentioned several times. In how many LBT movies is the word "human" used?
-
In LBT 4 a few words slip in on a song. Sock and cold in July. That the only one I mange to see this hint. But if you like me to add LBT 7 with those Rainbow Faces I will glady say the male one almost slips about space seveal times and many other things that I lost count on.
-Threehorn
(Am I partly right? I know I haven't got all of them down, plus a first time guess as well so be nice :DD )
-
^ I'm afraid you didn't get the question right. I'm not looking for words used by humans, but for this very word, "human". In how many LBT movies is the word "human" used?
-
 Don't know off the top of my head...they do mention humans in the introduction as in "before the first human ever walked the earth..."
-
That in almost everyone of them about 8 of them if I am correct. They say in the start before humans stepped on the earth and such. ABout 8 moives by my count.
-Threehorn
-
erm...I count about 3. Surprisingly, when it comes to knowing the script. I know the characters' lines no problem but the narration at the start I can never remember perfectly...
P.S. Thanks for keeping the game rollin' Malte! Better someone else nicked my go rather than everyone waiting on me. Still sorting out my net connection...
-
Hi!
I too don't count more than three mentions of the word "human" throughout the series. Where exactly did you find five more Threehorn. Of course it's your turn if indeed 8 is correct (sure enough I may have overlooked mentions of the word), but if the 3 is correct this round would go to Littlefoot-1616.
-
I was right... oh great... now I have to think this over... I will get one triva up in a short time, just have to think of one. :lol
-Threehorn
-
^ You're only right if you can name all eight times you say the word "human" has been said in an LBT film.
-
I only took a guess because I wasn't sure
-Threehorn
-
Littlefoot-1616, can you name the three LBT movies that include the word "human"? Following that you may come up with the next question.
-
Again I think the problem is that Littlefoot-1616 can't be online on regular basis. So if any of you names three LBT movies in which the word "human" is uttered you may come up with the next question.
-
Sorry gang! Malte is right! I can't get on as often as I like but I hoping to sort that out when I next get paid (whenever that will be!)
In reponse to your question Malte... I believe it is 2,3 and 4 isn't it? Like I said, i know the characters' lines like I wrote them myself but the narration at the start always seems to throw me
-
you could be right... it could be 2,3 and 8.
It could be that. I am not sure.
-THreehorn
-
What about the original one as well? "Long before you." implies humans as well. ;)
-
I have to make a confession I'm afraid. I've been sloppy with my last question. I realized it just now when Arvens asked about the first movie implying humans with the "long before you". In fact I did think of the original movie, but I'm afraid my mind mixed up the German with the English version. The word human is mentioned in the German version and somehow my mind played a trick on me, so I mistakenly thought it was in the English version as well. Sorry!
To cut a long story short, the other two movies in which human/s is mentioned are LBT 2 and 4.
Again I want to express my appologies for that mistake. Whoever has an LBT trivia question in store may post it. If nobody does, I can think of another one (and I shall be more careful in the future).
-
^ All is forgiven. ;)
Name the only song where two of the characters sing and they both hit sour notes.
-
^ What exactly is a sour note?
-
LBT 4 with Dil and Icky singing "who needs you"
-Threehorn
-
Nope Threehorn, they sing it pretty well in that song. ;)
Malte, a sour note is a time when someone really goes off key; in this case, it's only a single word and not the entire song. ;) I can't believe it made the final cut because I cringe every time I hear that song and they just miss the note altogether.
-
 Difficult one. The problem is that it is somewhat based on personal realization, but I'm sure it must be really bad if you put it up like this.
I'd think of Petrie and Ducky in the LBT 7 song "Good inside". Correct?
-
Quick hint: You can hear the clip on landbeforetime.org ;)
I'm only replying in this for the sake that it keeps going...still not perfect. :(
-
Cera and Ducky in "The Mad Song" LBT 8?
I have to agree that the definition of a sour note is different depending on the person's perception and acceptance level...but...
-
OH I remember that. I think your right Littlefoot1616
-Threehorn
-
:( :( Feeling worse, but I thought I'd pop by and say that's still not it. There is no "a sour note is not the same to everyone"...it really is off key and you'd have to be extrememely tone deaf not to hear it.
Hint: not in the first four films....and you can hear it on landbeforetime.org, so get listening...just don't blow all my bandwith in one day trying to figure it out. :p
-
I will have to check it out... I am not even sure of this answer.
-Threehorn
-
I must be really confusing some people...
It's in LBT 5, 6, or 7. ;)
-
Hmm.
Apparently the guess of "Good inside" was wrong. I interpret your formulation two of "the" characters as to include only two of the five main characters, which would exclude "Very important creature". "Beyond the mysterious beyond" doesn't sound sour, so I think LBT 7 can't include the song you mean.
As there haven't been two singing characters in "On your own" this one too can be included.
I strongly suppose that either "Big Water" or "Friends for Dinner" is the song you are looking for. There are some slightly dissonant parts in both of these, but I'm not sure enough to name one of them above the other.
-
I think just for the sake of getting a new question on the table I'm giving it to Malte. ;) "Big Water" was the song I was after.
Listen: http://www.landbeforetime.org/music/05-01.mp3 (http://www.landbeforetime.org/music/05-01.mp3)
Listen to the second time Littlefoot and Cera say "Big, big, big, big water...." Ouch. Someone missed a note there.
-
 I didn't even realize that one before. I hadn't thought of it but rather of some parts sung by Ducky and Petrie (though they weren't that bad either). I have to admit I don't think I would have ever answered that question more precicely. The music links at www.landbeforetime.org don't work out for me. I don't know why; maybe it's only me, but if others have the same problem (I receive a message saying that the server wasn't found), it may be an error that can be fixed.
Okay, here is the next question. Which of the land before time sequels begins with "The Great Migration", the melody James Horner composed for the original movie and that was played at the very beginning of LBT 1?
-
I'm postitive it's LBT III. ;)
P.S. Malte I changed the format of the songs so see if they work for you now. ;)
-
Thanks! I'll check it out as soon as I get to a PC with soundblaster and a connection that allows me to check it out.
Your answer is perfectly right! Your turn :)
-
Name the LBT sequel where we meet the most new characters (excluding herds...only characters that have a major role in the outcome of the story).
-
I think it has to be LBT 4 (Ali, Archie, Ichty, Dill, Tickles, The Old one and (she doesn't do or say anything important though) Ali's mother). This would make seven new characters.
Number 2 I think would be LBT 3 and 10 with four characters each (Hyp, Hyp's father, Nod, and Mutt respectively Bron, Sue, Pat and Shorty).
-
Personally I'd say LBT 7 makes number two with Pterano, Rinkus, Cierra, the two rainbowfaces, and Mr. Spiketail (he had a brief but bigger role). For a moment I think that the huge flyer near the end of the movie should be included in the list, but that might be disputed. So for now, LBT 7 has six new characters.
-
Arvens? We need your "right" or "wrong" here in order to continue.
-
Very sorry for the delay...lots of schoolwork to do plus I hit another one of my "I don't care" mood swings...
LBT 7 was the one I had in mind so Littlefoot gets it. :)
-
Kenji gets it you mean. :)
Alright, your turn to come up with a question Kenji.
-
What? Arvens asked for the movie with most number of new characters in one movie, and you're the one with the right answer. So it's your move, Malte.
-
Arvens wrote that he was thinking of LBT 7, so it would be your turn. In case one counts the Stegosaurus and the huge flyer as characters LBT 7 does in fact have more new characters than LBT 4. Also You are perfectly welcome to come up with a question :)
I can do it if you want me to; but really thinking of questions is fun too, and I don't mean to deceive you for it. :D
-
But if the giant flyer was counted, it would've been a tie between 4 & 7 with seven characters each, right? Oh well, I might as well come up with one.
Throughout the series, the characters named objects and each other differently than we do (i.e. spiketail=stegosaurus, sun=bright circle, locusts=leaf gobblers).
But in one movie, someone said the actual word of something. What was that something, who said it, and what movie was it?
-
I think there are a few but I'll have a shot.
In LBT 2, in the 2nd version of "Peaceful Valley" (end credits) Littlefoot says "SUN sets and rises". Obviously they've been calling it the Bright Circle but that was a change. Another one is in LBT 6 when the gang get Dinah and Dana back from Saurus Rock and the Allosaurus is loaming over Cera as she's lecturing them about her father's anger. When it dribbles on her (YUCK!) she says... "Hey! Is it starting to rain?" where in previous LBT's rain was refered to as sky-water (well, in #5 it was anyway)
-
I have another to add: in LBT 5, it's called Big Water until the song when Cera says: bowl like a rock right into the sea....
-
Eep!! :wow I completely forgot about all of that!! Those prove to be much more definitive answers than what I'm thinking about. The one I was thinking about was in LBT 3, when Littlefoot said "tar pit". I know that the gang came across tar pits before, but I couldn't remember if they even called it anything in the movie.
I'll give the mic over to Littlefoot.
-
Alrighty then! This has been the first time I've posted a LBT trivia question in ages it seems. Anywho! I want you to:
Point out at least 3 glitches or animation mistakes that have occurred through out the series. Im not talking about lines or what characters say like in the last question, Im talking about proper animation trip ups e.g. wrong colours on parts of a character's body. This also doesnt include the abnormal colouring of scenery that changes in times of danger...
OK........GO!!
-
Well I have two:
One was in the theatrical film when the gang goes to sleep in the Sharptooth footprint and the way they are sleeping before they go to the overhead shot does not match up with the one after (I have it captured and it probably will find it's way to landbeforetime.org before long since it's always nice to have a couple of video clips). :)
Another one I noticed was in LBT 7 which shows just how lousy their animation team was, was when it was night and Ducky found Pterano plotting...everyone is in a dull shade of color (because it's dark out) all except for Pterano's head.
-
During the Ali-goodbye scene in LBT 4 Spike's chin turns from orange to green and back.
-
Speaking of LBT...anyone notice how well Archie speaks supposedly without teeth? (maybe it's differnt for turtles)
-
OK Im counting 2! (Im not allowing Arvens' one about Pterano's head :p Sorry) Next person to give me one more animation glitch can take the stage!
-
Oh come on. :p Pterano's head was a big goof. ;)
-
I'm quite sure I saw some color mistakes in LBT 8, but I don't remember a particular scene right now.
-
What about in LBT 7? In the movie from then on, Grandpa and Grandma Longneck had their colors changed to help distinguish them from each other (Grandpa got a purplish color while Grandma retained her tanish color). But when Grandma was talking to Petrie's mother just before the kids were told the story about Pterano, Grandma's color was wrong (purple and NOT tan). Is that it?
-
meh! Good enough for me!!! OK Mirumoto Kenjiro...the floor is yours!
-
   Eh...I'll hand the next one over to the one who made the first correct guess, Arvens. Apparantly, my trivia questions are a little awkward at this time.
-
Name at least two (sequels) characters that have changed from their bad ways to good ways.
-
Supposedly (we never saw them after the sequels) Pterano, Shorty, Hyp, Not and, Mutt?
-
I didn't think of the bullies. Pterano was correct...who might my other character be?
-
I would have said Chomper as the other. Considering he is a sharptooth and all... the gang helped him see that leaf-eaters can be friends erm....as well as lunch!
-
Is not Shorty to be considered among thes characters too?
Mr. Thicknose may be another possibility, though I have serious doubts that he ever really confessed his fibs to the other dinosaurs in the Great Valley (at least Littlefoot keeps it up to the end).
-
Ali! She abandoned her racism in LBT 4 which prevented her from getting along with the others. And there is no doubt she did abandon it.
-
Shorty was the one I was after because there is no doubt he changed his ways from bad to good. ;) Chomper, Comper couldn't even speak so I'd consider that more childlike innocence than a change of heart. ;)
-
And are still not all the characters named you had in mind?
Pterano, Shorty, Hyp, Not, Mutt, Mr. Thicknose, and Ali? It becomes difficult to think of other examples, for whatever improvements we have seen to characters like Cera's dad, they didn't seem to be of too lasting effect (though he has not forbidden his daughter to hang around with Littlefoot ever since LBT 3, which may be considered a permanent improvement).
-
Shorty and Pterano were the only two I originally had in mind though you do prove your point correctly with the other characters. ;)
The floor is yours, Malte. :)
-
I had named them both in my very first response ;)
Give me at least four scenes from the land before time sequels that have "If we hold on together" as a background melody. Special laurel for more than four examples.
-
Hmmm...right at the end of LBT 3 when everyone is sharing the food found....LBT 3 when everyone has escaped the fire....
-
Those are two examples. Make it four (or more for special cheers) and the next question will be yours.
-
My brain was pretty fried last night, so I overlooked in LBT 4 when they're leaving Archie to go to the Land of Mists, and also when they say bye to Tickles. There's two more. :)
-
You gave four examples Arvens, so the next question is yours (maybe I ought to have set a higher aim as there are many more examples).
-
This one isn't hard but it's all I could think of at the moment.
Name the character who has been voiced by the same person for the longest streak through the LBT films.
-
Grandpa Longneck(by Pat Tingle)
Nick
-
I just realized something, there's actually two characters that fit the bill. :o
Nick you're on the right track. ;)
-
Pat Tingle? Who's that?! Grandpa Longneck has been voiced by Kenneth Mars since LBT 2. The other one would be Petrie...Jeff Glen Bennett does his voice and has done so since #2 as well!
-
*ding ding ding* :D Those are the two. Spike is not credited as being voiced by anyone in LBT V, therefore I couldn't officially say Spike is "voiced" by Rob Paulsen since LBT 2. ;)
-
OK...Next question.
There is are two frames in one particular LBT (separated by a frame in between) that are played forwards and then reversed. The sound played is different but the animation is just the same forwarded and then played back again. What scene it is and in what LBT movie is it?
-
That's a little too technical for me. :p I haven't the foggiest idea.
-
Sorry, but I really don't recally any part of the movies being used forward and backward. I'm afraid you beat us all with this one Jason.
-
Actually, I did find something watching LBT 9 when I was taking those screen captures and this might be it:
Right before Littlefoot is whining to his grandparents that he's bored and wished he had a brother, both Grandma and Grandpa took some leaves from a tree, and it looked like an exact flip of the same frame.
-
Nah! That's not it! In fact! Scrap that question! It's a bit of a dud one really. It odes happen (im pretty sure anyway) but it's a lousy one...lemme ask another one...
Bit of a requirement needed for this one (i.e. you've seen LBT 10) but you can always hazard a guess!
In LBT 10, once Littlefoot finally meets Bron, Littlefoot runs off and hits another longneck who shouts "HEY!" The voice is uncredited but who did the voice? Don't worry! I DO know the answer! ;)
-
I don't have a copy of LBT 10 to investigate this one. :(
-
Oh c'mon guys! It's not THAT hard! Even if you've just seen it and don't own it, it shouldn't rob you of your chances of getting it right. If you don't know...have a gamble! ;) The actor IS credited but not as the voice of this longneck.
Go on! Have a go! :^.^:
P.S. There is a clue hidden within this post! ;)
-
*shrugs* I'd need to hear it.
-
I think we're going to need a new question Littlefoot because its obvious nobody can figure it out without a copy of the film in their hands. :yes
-
Well so far Arvens is the only one whose given any notice! I can narrow it down...it's one of the actors for one of the gang. Come on now! There's only 5 of whom it could be...one last try! Go on!!!! You know you want to!
BTW...this person's a real steal! (Another clue there! ;) )
-
It was female so I'm going to say Cera because it sounded like an older voice. ;) Anndi McAfee.
-
Nope! It's not Anndi! And it's NOT female either...that leaves 3...
-
Well Jeff Bennet is the master of voices so I'm going to say him.
-
Nope...Wanna go 50:50?! Oh wait! You can't! There are only two left! PMSL! :P:
-
Sure I'll go 50/50.
It couldn't be that little kid who did Littlefoot could it? :o
-
Nope! That only leaves one more actor. Hit his name and the round is yours!
-
Rob Paulsen can fake his voice to sound like a woman???
Well I guess if Robin Williams can become Mrs. Doubtfire anythings possible. :lol
My name's Littlefoot.
No its not a trick question but you do have to tell me where this is said. :P:
-
Funnily enough...Littlefoot says that to Ducky when they meet for the first time. Couldn't really imagine any of the other characters saying their name was Littlefoot! :P:
-
Yep, that's the time....but Littlefoot's introduced himself more than once. ;)
-
OK! Next question!
Which of the gang's parents do NOT actually sing? I count two...so let's hear your answers! ;)
-
This answer is going to change depending on if you've seen LBT 11 or not. ;)
If we're going pre-LBT 11, the only two who never have sang anything is Petrie's mom, and Littlefoot's grandpa.
-
We have a winner! Of course all MY questions are going to be pre-#11 becoz it's not out on region 2 til at least September I would have thought.
Anyway, you've got the floor Arvens!
-
I won't ask anything portaining to LBT 11...that wouldn't be fair. ;)
Ok, how many times have the kids ventured into the Mysterious Beyond (as in the land of the carnivores)?
-
I'm not sure. It depends which times are to be counted. If we count the times AFTER they reached the Great Valley, including the times they left together with their parents, excluding cases in which they didn't encounter sharpteeth or other carnivores (thus excluding cases in which they just looked at the Mysterious Beyond) I count 10 times. I haven't seen LBT 11 so I don't know if there are any trips to the MB there.
-
I'm counting just the kids searching by themselves and they can't just look at it...they actually have to wander there. ;) No parents...so LBT 5 wouldn't count. ;)
Since this actually is even confusing me, I'll just lay down the answer:
LBT 2- going after Ozzie and Strut
LBT 3- finding water
LBT 4- had to go through it to get the the Land of Mists
LBT 6- depends if you think Saurus Rock is in the Mysterious Beyond (I don't think it is)
LBT 7- same as LBT 6
LBT 9- probably had to through part of it to find a way to the Big Water
I count five times.
-
I understood the trips to the mysterious Beyond being defined by sharptooth encounters in your question Arvens. In this case there are even two trips into the mysterious Beyond in LBT 6. I also take it (even without a sharptooth encounter) for granted that they entered MB in LBT 7 (just listen to the grownups talk in the movie).
-
Let me try another question then.
Name a portion from the original soundtrack that was NOT used in any of the later sequels....I can think of many portions that have been used countless times, and there are some that are heard for the first film and that's it. Just name a section and the next question is yours. :)
-
How about the part that is played while Littlefoot's mother describes the way to the Great Valley, before the scene in which Littlefoot is woken up by the frog?
Or the one that is played during the scene when they are climbing the mountain after passing the rock that looks like a longneck (that one was not even on the CD of the original soundtrack).
-
I'll take your first answer since that is indeed one part you don't hear ever again. :) Your second one I proabably would null since it was not on the cd soundtrack and that's where they usually have been taking their clips from.
-
My goodness! I totally forgot it was my turn!
Name at least three cases in which a land before time character is doing this: :bang
Special cheers for those who name more than one different character doing this. Triumph and laurel for any one who names three different characters.
And anything better for those who can name more than four cases and more than three characters.
-
Cera hits her head on a rock in LBT 11
Petrie gets struck by lightning in LBT 9
Sharptooth gets his head knocked from Littlefoot's mother's fight in LBT 1
-
I mean only cases of characters deliberately hitting their own heads against something, so I wouldn't count the Petrie case. I haven't seen LBT 11, so I don't know about that one, and Sharptooth BEING knocked by Littlefoot's mother doesn't count either.
I apologize for making the question not very clear. Please try again :)
-
Actually my LBT 11 one was a typo...I meant LBT 10. ;)
Well, if you're going to be picky (:P:) I'll say LBT 1 when Cera walks into the rock when she has her tongue sticking out at the rest of the gang. I'd also like to add when Petrie can't stop himself because he can't fly in LBT 1 and he plows into the ground. :bang
-
Well, okay your turn Arvens. But actually I'm even more picky. I asked for characters hitting their heads deliberately against something, which is actually not the case in the cases you gave.
Anyway, your turn.
-
Actually, I'd like to know the answers you were thinking of first. ;)
-
For example Cera hit her head against a tree after the twins disappeared in LBT 6. Sharptooth in the original movie smashed his head against a rock until it burst (the rock, not the head ;) ) during the fight with Littlefoot's mother. Cera (who is the Champion in deliberately hitting her head against things) did so several times throughout LBT 10 and also in many other sequels (often in order to "harvest" leafs). Spike copied her in doing so in LBT 6.
-
This might be hard to answer but I'm pretty sure I can answer it.
In what order were the LBT films released on DVD? I have a pretty good idea with this one, based on when DVD's really took off as a video format. If you can take a humble guess as what the first film released was and then go from there, I'll give it to you.
(As you can tell I'm starting to run out of good questions. :slap )
-
7, 8, 9, 10, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 (with the 1-6th and 10 movie being released almost simultaneously)?
-
It was a pretty foolhardy question. This is the order I've come up with:
8, 9, (1, 2, 3 all at once with ugly covers <_< ), 10, (4, 5, 6, 7 all at once with more ugly covers <_<), 11
I don't believe LBT 7 was released on DVD first, but I do remember the first one I saw was #8. ;)
Heh, bad question...you're up Malte.
-
Actually I didn't give the right answer, but here we go:
Name the LBT movie in which one character was voiced by two voice actors. Also name the character and both voiceactors.
-
I know the answer but I really want to get new people in this game. ;) I'm going to start prodding some with pitchforks to get in here. :P:
-
Don't prod to hard though ;) We need them alive!
-
Idealistically, I shouldn't have to prod anyone in here....if we're a board of LBT fans shouldn't they just come in here on their own?
-
Well, perhaps people are too busy meeting the challanges of the word association game. :nyah
Sorry, I'm being sarcastic :P:
-
Remember the question?
Name the LBT movie in which one character was voiced by two voice actors. Also name the character and both voiceactors.
-
That would be #5. Littlefoot has a spoken voice and a singing voice. Brandon La Croix does his spoken voice and Thomas Dekker does his singing voice
-
Perfectly right Littlefoot! :)
Your turn.
-
In recent years, LBT has appeared as video games but on what consoles have they been on? Note that the educational packages for PCs do NOT count! I'm thinking of 2 formats...
Let's have them! ;)
-
One of them is Playstation 2 for certain. I need to look up the other.
-
Well...it's not Playstation 2 but 2 games were on the first Playstation so I'll let that one slide....there's still one for console an LBT game has been on.
-
Stupid me! So much about "for certain". Having never had any kind of play console I'm not exactly an "expert" concerning this. Still I'm sure that the game "Big Water Adventure" was available for a "device" called 2XG or something to that effect.
-
Not quite Malte! Big Water Adventure was another game released on the Playstation (PSX are probably the initials you saw). The is another game that's NOT on the Playstation. What's the other format? (another wrong guess get's a clue)
-
*throws out a guess*
Nintendo
I know nothing about video games. :P:
-
That's the company but what console...you're all edging closer...
-
The only one I know is 64. -_-
-
NintendoS
that is another or the Gamecube that also made by Nintendo. so there is quite a few Nintendo's to guess from so I say
GameCube
-Threeehorn
-
Nope...think Japanese! Japanese love tiny technology! Think along those lines!
-
I'm thinking Game Boy, but because I'm a Playstation person, I can't be sure.
-
I'll give it to Kenji! The actual console I was looking for was Gameboy Advanced but it's a Gameboy nonetheless!
The floor is yours Kenji! Next question please! ;)
-
Eep! That caught me off guard. I'll have to pass the next one to Threehorn, since he was the closest and the last one to guess.
-
Your turn threehorn.
-
You still there, Threehorn?
-
Someone just take it...waiting's gone on long enough
-
In LBT 7 Cera complains about always being the last in line when they are crossing a ravine or the like. Yet she is wrong. Please tell me how often she and each of the other main characters are the last in line and who really would have a point in complaining about almost always being the last.
-
Anyone?
-
I can't say how many times exactly but I can think of a few examples.
1. In LBT 1, once they reach "The Mountains that Burn", Cera is leading the others (minus Littlefoot)
2. In LBT 2, Cera is the first to hop across the Sinking Sands pit when all others are more hesitant
3. In LBT 5, when the gang are running away from the sharptooth once it finds them in the Stinky Place (love that name! LOL :P: ), when they run over the log I'm pretty sure Cera is leading coz Littlefoot almost doesnt make it. Well, she definitely wasnt last that's for sure
4. In LBT 6, when they are out searching for the Threehorn Twins, Dinah and Dana, when they hop across the chasm on the stone pillars, Cera is 3rd in line after Ducky and Littlefoot.
There are others but those 4 leap to mind...need any more?
-
Well, there ARE quite a few more (many of the sequels have more than one example) and we still don't know who really is the last in line most frequently. So if you could give some more... :)
-
Tsk! There's just no pleasing some people! Tsk! I dunno! LOL :p
OK...here are a few MORE examples:
~ In LBT 1, when the gang are being chased by the sharptooth after they've slept in the rather suspicious footprint, Cera is the first to take off leaving the others
~ In LBT 2, when they are running from Ozzy and Strut and Littlefoot makes the make-shift bridge from a toppled tree, Cera is second after Littlefoot to cross (despite nearly falling off)
~ Again in #2, when they are being chased by Chomper's parents, Cera is already in hiding in the cave before signalling to Littlefoot
~ In LBT 5, when they are walking on that little island walkway across the ocean and the tidal waves hit, Cera's behind Littlefoot with Spike bringing up the rear
~ In LBT 4, as they all enter the Land of Mists, Cera is leading the parade (rather indignantly with her nose in the air LOL). Before she promptly getting lost in the dense fog
There's another few. Really, Cera's very rarely at the back of any of the dangerous situations the gang has to face. LOL Dunno why she's complaining. Think it would have been and easier question to ask when Cera HAS been at the back of the line in times of trouble. LOL :lol
-
There are even more such situations (crossing of obstacles rather than running away). But who is last in line most frequently?
-
Last in line is normally Spike, poor blighter LOL. Feel sorry for him :^.^:
-
Yes.
Another case of obstacle crossing (with Ducky last in line) occurs during the chasing of the eggeaters in LBT 2.
Your turn :)
-
OK Next question:
What links LBT 8 and The Disney movie The Lion King?
-
Robert Guillaume played a "wise man" character in both.
-
Looks like we have a weener! *coughs* Erm uh! I mean WINNER! (gotta stop getting those two words mixed up! LOL :lol ) J/king
Yep! Robert Guillaume plays both Raffiki in the Lion King and Old Mr. Thicknose in LBT 8! Well done Stitch! You're turn!
P.S. Meega Nala Qwishta! :p :DD
-
Here's an "easy" one:
How much did the first LBT movie make both on its opening weekend and by the end of its theatrical run?
-
Would you like a hint?
-
Please - that's beyond my expertize :P:
-
According to Don Bluth's Toon Talk magazine the land before time grossed $72 million worldwide. They say nothing about the first weekend there. The number can probably be found somewhere, but don't ask me where. I'm not much into numbers I admit. I have one for you as a funfact from a German newspaper of 1989. Over here there were 290623 visitors to LBT during the first week when it was shown in 243 cinemas in Germany. In the same week Police Academy VI had its first week over here. Though shown in 295 cinemas they had only 185702 visitors for that movie.
-
For that fun fact, I'll give you the question. The source I have gave a quote of over $7,526,000 for the first weekend. It would have probably made a lot more if Oliver and Company didn't start that same weekend.
Your turn
-
:slap And this was your source, wasn't it: http://www.cataroo.com/DBland.html (http://www.cataroo.com/DBland.html) :slap
I should have thought of it. After all the interview is pinned in the Gang of Five.
It is not a secret that they put dinosaurs from different eras (Jurrassic, Cretaceous etc.) together in the land before time. Please give me at least one species shown in LBT that comes from the Triassic period (you will make me especially happy if you come up with more than one) and at least three species shown in LBT which continued to exist after the cretaceous period (or at least whose very similar descendands did).
-
Do you need any hints?
-
Oh, gosh! Help, please!
-
Ok, I'm going to try :p
"Dinosaurs" found in the LBT series that are from the Triassic era:
Ichthyosaur (the sharptooth swimmer from LBT 9)
Quetzalcoatlus (the massive flyer from LBT 7 that comes with Petrie's mother)
Eozostrodon (the mouse-like creature in LBT 4)
Creatures that existed after the cretaceous period:
The Alligator from LBT 10
Ichy (Dill's partner in LBT 4)
and, again, the mouse-like creature, Eozostrodon
Note, I did a bit of research on this question: I didn't know all of this off-hand, lol :p
Tough question!
-
Good enough for me! LOL :DD But Malte's the quizmaster at the moment so he's taking command...we must await his wise words LOL ;)
-
Actually I'm positive that neither Quetzalcoatlus nor that sharptooth swimmer from LBT 9 lived as early as Triasic period (248 to 206 million years ago). Both of them were actually from the cretaceous (144 to 65 million years ago). Eozostrodon did live in the cretaceous though. We might start a huge debate now on whether Tickles is a member of that kind or of a kind of mamal that came up much later in the cretaceous. Personally I consider him more likely to be a Megazostrodon as the Eozostrodon ceased to exist in the early Jurrassic (so if Tickles was indeed a Eozostrodon it would disqualify him from being a species that lived after the end of the cretaceous, while Megazostrodon did).
Ichty, Dill, and Tickles are actually the three "first choices" I had in mind for species that continued to exist (at least in very similar appearance) after the end of the cretaceous. Further examples would be the birds we see in LBT 9, the shark from LBT 5, and the creature from the prolouge of LBT 4 which is very similar to a whale.
If you want to, you can come up with the next one action9000. However, there is at least one species which is with absolute certainty from the Triassic to be seen in LBT (not a talking character). Shall I give the answer?
-
Certainly, Malte; go ahead and give uos the answer. I'll post a question once you provide the solution to us :) Good question, by the way. Made us do our homework!
-
What about those darned rainbowfaces? :P:
-
The rainbowfaces could be identified as several different Cretaceous species while I can't right now think of a Triassic species that looked like them.
Okay, the most obviously Triassic dinosaur was in the original movie. Shortly before Littlefoot, Ducky, and Petrie run into Cera they are hiding from a Dimetrodon, a Triassic predator with a large "sail" on its back. There were no kinds with whom Dimetrodon could be mixed up in later periods, so he is the most definite example for a Triassic species in LBT.
Your turn Action9000 :)
-
What musical key is the Diana Ross version of "If We Hold On Together" naturally played in?
-
G key for the central melody (though it is very deep in pards) F key for the accompanyist music?
-
Nope, but good try!
Here's a hint; the F# you see in the opening of the song is an accidental note, Not part of the key signature.
Another hint: Both the accompaniment, and the vocals are in the same key. There is a 'mini' key change, Briefly, in the final "bridge" section of the song, leading into the final repeat of the chorus (I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier). I am Not counting that key change.
What key is the rest of the song played in?
One more hint: This answer can be looked up online if need be.
-
Since the F is an accidental thing, I would suspect it to be rather close to that than anything else.
I'll take a wild guess and say E.
-
Good wild guess, but nope!
Another music-theory-related hint:
The root note of the last section of "Bestest Friends" is a Major 3rd below the root note of this key.
-
I am going to guess C major, based on your clue.
-
That'll do, stitch :wow
Yeah, I sort of gave that away on the karaoke topic, but I figure it was time to get this game going again :DD
Your go!
-
What is the major thing Cera is scared of?
-
There are several scenes in which she seems to be quite scared of hights (examples in LBT 5, LBT 6, and LBT 7). Also she seems to be scared of insects (examples in LBT 4 and 5). Finally she seems to be scared of her father behaving in an uncustomarry manner (LBT 10 and 11).
-
There is one more I can think of, but I'll give it to you. The last thing she seems to be scared of is Storms (LBT 1, LBT 2, and LBT 5).
Your turn.
-
You there, Malte?
-
If you've got another question Stitch then carry on...I dont think Malte's bin here for a while (not that I should be talking LOL :p )
If either Malte or Stitch gets here first then post away...I think this topic has been a bit stagnent for a while...need to get it flowin' again
-
Name three ways LBT has been influenced by or influenced Disney.
-
The death scene of Littlefoot's mother is (mainly for Littlefoot's calling her) supposed to bear a strong resemblance to Disney's Bambi. The term "Circle of Life" was used in Disney's "Lion King" (yet I'm positive it existed before LBT already), finally the story of Disney's dinosaur bears a couple of basic similarities to the land before time.
-
Those are the three I was thinking of.
Your turn.
-
In which scene of which land before time sequel is a lambeosaurus talking?
-
Hmm...toughy that one...
Gonna take a stab in the dark here but is one scene in LBT 8 where (once the snow's fallen) Mr. Threehorn grumbles "It's so slippy I couldn't make it up the hill from my nest!" and there one dinosaur voiced by Jeff Bennett complains "Yeah! He slid backwards right into my nose!" Much to Cera's delight! :lol :DD Is that one? Embarrassingly enough, I'm not hot on different dinosaur breeds. I'm just into the cartoon rather than the science of it all LOL :D
-
I need to check it out, but I think the dinosaur in that scene is a Corythosaurus:
I don't have my DvD of LBT 8 at hand so if anybody who does could check it out this would be greatly appreciated. This is a Lambeosaurus:
-
Well in that case...That particular dinosaur is in LBT 6 (again voiced by Jeff Bennett) when the elders of the Valley are discussing the situation of their watering hole drying up inexplicably. The one that says "Very bad luck if you ask me".
Howz my aim?
-
That's correct Littlefoot :)
Your turn mate.
-
Erm...brains a bit dry at the moment...
Floor's open to anyone who comes up with a question whilst me brain waves return. :^.^:
-
Please give examples of dinosaurs apearing in the land before time whose fossils have been found on various continents. Name the continent, the species and the LBT appearance. I want you to name species from at least four continents (North and South America each count as one). Special praise for the one who can name five continents and their LBT species.
-
Nobody having a book about dinosaurs at hand which mentions where the fossils were found? Wikipedia too can be helpful to answer this question.
-
Aren't you at all getting the feeling that some of us don't want to answer a question that involves that much work? :lol
-
Vice versa I could ask whether you don't get the feeling that some of us don't want to / can't answer questions about particular computer games which some of us simply don't have and are therefore not able to answer. -_-
-
Truth be told, the nature of trivia is knowledge, not reasoning. This topic should be dedicated to trivia questions based around The Land Before Time, as Malte's questions have been, and such questions will tend to be knowledge-based.
could ask whether you don't get the feeling that some of us don't want to / can't answer questions about particular computer games which some of us simply don't have and are therefore not able to answer.
Assuming that video games Were allowed in this topic (of course, they won't be, as it's an LBT Trivia game), I must believe that they would be valid questions. As I stated above, trivia is based upon knowledge.
If the question is Intentionally geared towards a certain person to answer, I believe that it is an unfair.
If the question is referring to a topic that some people may know and others may not, that is acceptable. HOw are we to know everything about what everyone else knows? If everyone did know, what would be the fun of a trivia game?
Trivia is a test of what a person knows about the topics covered.
Anyways, back to LBT:
When it comes to LBT trivia, I say anything goes around here (so long as it is related to LBT, of course). Malte's questions have all been completely legitimate, though rather deep to discover the answers for without previous knowledge. Regarding video games, those who don't own a certain game could always download the demo of it, research articles on it, etc. to find an answer. It is never impossible, but it's all a question of how much work the players will put into locating such information. I think this last question just caught many of the players, as few people wanted to try to locate this amount of information. Good question though, Malte. It challenges everyone's knowledge of real dinosaur history.
I must admit, that I don't have an answer to your question either.
-
Many of us do so well in the dinosaur trivia quiz that really this question should be a piece of cake for them:
Please give examples of dinosaurs apearing in the land before time whose fossils have been found on various continents. Name the continent, the species and the LBT appearance. I want you to name species from at least four continents (North and South America each count as one). Special praise for the one who can name five continents and their LBT species.
-
South America, Saltasaurus, Various, including LBT 10
North America, Tyrannosaurus, movies 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 10
Europe, Iguanodon, Various, including LBT 4
Asia, Tuojiangosaurus, LBT 7
Africa, Ouranosaurus, LBT 7
-
Good examples! Thank you Tinysaurus! It's your turn :yes
Where exactly did you see the Tuojiangosaurus (I'm sure it is there, but I don't recal where and when exacty)?
-
(It's one of the farwalkers.)
What species of marine reptile is Mo?
-
Mo is an Ictiasauridae (not sure on the spelling) probably an ophtalmosaurus
-
Yes, he is an Opthalmosaurus. Your turn, Neworder.
-
There is a reptile from the early triasic that appears in a lbt movie for brief seconds, which species is it, in which lbt movie does it appear, and in which part? This one's probably a bit hard, if you can't think of anything I'll narrow down the clues (=
-
There is a Dimetrodon in the original movie, shortly before Littlefoot, Ducky, and Petrie meet Cera.
-
That's from the Permian.
-
Yup, indeed dimetrodon is from the permian, try again =P
-
Plateosaurus, during the introduction of LBT 2.
-
Nope. I said reptile, not dinosaur! You're getting close. Hint: It's in one of the first movies (from 1 to 6)
-
(Darn! Aren't dinosaurs reptiles?)
-
Yes, dinosaurs were reptiles, yet they were different from modern day reptiles and lizards in many ways. Apart from the obvious difference in size it is also assumed (though not proven) that most dinosaurs, unlike modern day reptiles, weren't cold-blooded, depending on the sun to warm up their blood. There are still many debates on that question (after all some dinosaurs had "sails" or "plates" on their backs which probably served the purpose of warming their blood in a shorter amount of time. Yet given the size of most dinosaurs they couldn't possibly lie in the sun all the time (and it would take a lot of time for the sun to warm up the huge amounts of blood circulating in a sauropod) waiting for enough energy to move and eat). The main difference between lizards and dinosaurs (whose name actually means terrible lizard) is the position of their legs. Dinosaur legs usually went straight down from the body while lizards legs are bend in a kind of squated position.
There are many lizards throughout LBT, in particular throughout the beginning scenes of the movies. Yet I admit that I know too little about the lizards to identify their species with certainty.
-
I don't agree with people calling dinosaurs reptiles, they evolved from them yes, too become a different taxon, mammals have also evolved from reptiles and yet we don't call them reptiles... Birds are the closest thing to dinosaurs that we have nowadays, there are many theories about birds evolving from dinosaurs and about dinosaurs having feathers to help them control their body temperature or just for adornment purposes. Malte, it's a quite famous triasic lizard, if you think a bit harder you'll find it. If noone can think of anything I'll give a couple more hints.
-
I don't think any one has a clue what it is.
-
I've got it! In LBT 2, there's a Nothosaur from the Mid Triassic slithering in the water, just as the gang falls into the Mysterious Beyond.
-
Nope.. It's quite simple if you think it straight... I'll give another hint:
It's on a lbt from 3 to 6
-
Well it's a Triassic reptile... Oh, well.
-
I see this is going nowhere fast... :D It's on lbt 4... and it's not in the begining... if I give you anymore hints I might as well say the name and the scene =p
-
Come on guys! Is it that hard? Just tell me and I'll give out the answer... :D
-
I believe you're referring to Archie, the Archelon from LBT 4 who helps protect Littlefoot from Dil and Ichy, and helps guide the Gang through the cave to the Land of Mists.
-
Oh dear, oh dear (we are laking a smily that slaps the own forehead with a hand). If that's the answer that would really be a case of not seeing the forrest because of all the trees!
-
we are laking a smily that slaps the own forehead with a hand
Actually, Malte: :slap
It's in the 3rd column, two below the :lol smiley.
:P:
-
:slap :slap :slap :slap :slap Now that smiley was REALLY necessary!
-
heehee  :lol :p
Ok, I should really go to bed, LOL. It's 2:42 AM....well, I may stay up for a bit. I don't work tomorrow, and I'm having a good time on here :D
I think a smily we're lacking in this case is a pair of eyes looking through and parting a forest. :lol
Ok, the random comments are starting! I'm goin' to bed! :p :lol LOL
-
Archelon was from the Cretaceous.
-
Correct. I forgot to remember the time frame. The same time frame also rules out Dill. So no forest invisible because of all the trees after all and we are as far as we were :(
-
I think I found it! :)
It's name is Sauropterygia/Plesiosaurs. It appeared in LBT 4 and chased Dil away. (I wonder if she got away from that thing?) And I believe it also appeared in LBT 5 as Elisa, who gave the gang a ride back to their families.
I think I have a pretty good idea as to why we didn't see this one if it's right. :)
-
Actually you're all wrong =x I thought Plesiosaurus was from the Jurassic, but still that's not who I mean. The creature only appears it doesn't have a name and it's not important for the story. It just shows up for a couple of seconds. I'll give you another hint:
It's in the great valley!
-
There is another big turtles and many young ones in the scene in which Littlefoot's grandparents tell him about migrating herds.
Other than that I found two other reptiles:
I don't know if either of these lizards lived throughout the Triassic, nor can I name either species.
-
You've got it Malte :D
It's the first one, I think it looks like a Lagosuchus, the final link between dinosaurs and reptiles =p
So I guess it's your turn
-
Hey Malte! B)
It's trivia time, and you're up! :p
-
Name at least two (better three) cases in which Petrie refers to himself as "I".
-
All following events take place in LBT 1.
First off, when Littlefoot and Ducky first met Petrie:
Petrie: I...I...I fly?
Ducky: No, you fall!
Petrie: I fall? *sobs*
Ducky: You cannot fly? But how did you get way up there?
Petrie: I climb!
----
Second one. Petrie gaurding Littlefoot's treestar:
Petrie: Oh! Mother's present! Very Important! Oh yes! I say, you let no body touch! *acts like a guard*
----
Final one:
Petrie: *gets shot up by the breath of Sharptooth* *starts flapping wings* I'm flying! I'm flying! I'm flying!
------
How'd I do, Malte? ;)
-
All correct :yes
There is yet another one in the first movie. When he cam back to his family he called: "Mama I a flyer!"
His change to me or Petrie instead of I seems to have had its breakthrough later. It would be interesting to see if there are any Petrie Is in any of the sequels (I can't think of case any spontaneously).
Your turn pokeplayer. :)
-
^^Makes you wonder why it changed, huh? ;)
Okay, here's mine:
Name every creature to be referred to as a swimmer throughout the LBT series. Please give the official name and not the LBT name for each creature. Also put in what LBT movie they appeared in.
-
Saurolophus (provided we assume Ducky to be a Saurolophus).
Ophthalmosaurus (Mo).
Liopleurodon (the LBT 9 sharptooth is refered to as sharptooth swimmer, which probably comes close enough).
-
All correct Malte. :yes
One may argue with LBT 5 with the shark, but remember, it was called a "swimming sharptooth". As you can see, it wasn't completely referred to as a swimmer, even though it is one. :)
Your turn, Malte. :^.^:
-
Please give me at least two cases in which Ducky uses an abbreviated form such as "can't" for can not, "don't" for do not, "aren't" for are not etc.
-
I haven't played this in a while so I thought I'd get back into the swing of things. Here ya go Malte!
1. In LBT 8, near the end where Spike falls into the hot spring water through the ice, in amongst the worried chatter you can here Ducky say "And Spike CAN NOT swim!" after Cera has said "The water's deeper there!"
2. Another non-colloquial slurring point for Ducky is in LBT 10 were the gang finally find Littlefoot and the 3 sharpteeth attack. When the ecllipse is about to happen, Littlefoot shouts to Bron, "Hold on Dad! They're coming to help us!" but Ducky then says: "I DO NOT think so!"
Bin outta the game for a while...hope my aim's not too crooked! LOL ;)
-
I think you're shootin' backwards, Littlefoot1616! :p :lol
Malte asked for lines where contractions ARE spoken, such as "Can't" or "don't". Your answers were all DO NOT and CAN NOT. :P:
Therefore, I'm going to beat you to it! :lol :P: :lol
It's a well-known fact that the LBT songs use different rules of speech then the rest of the dialogue in the films, and this question is no different. B)
Number one:
During the song "Always There", Ducky sings "...don't be scared".
Number two:
During "Adventuring", Ducky and Petrie sing "He's going to see the Great Beyond"
And just for the heck of it:
Number Three:
During "Friends for Dinner" Ducky sings "He would spit out Cera, 'cause She's too tough!"
Do those answers look alright, Malte? B)
-
They sure do :yes
I wonder if there are any such cases apart from the songs.
Your turn Tim.
-
Hmmm...LBT Trivia...Where can I go with this? :lol
Describe a scene NOT in LBT 6 which is accompanied by this music:
http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3 (http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3)
-
Action9000:Smarty pants! :p :P:
Taking advantage of my lack of reading skills! PMSL :D :lol
Guess I've bin outta the game longer than I thought! :(
-
Action9000:Smarty pants!
Taking advantage of my lack of reading skills! PMSL
To quote Cera:
"Heeee!" :P: :lol
-
Would you like a hint?
Well, one scene occurs After LBT 6.
http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3 (http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3)
-
Alrighty:
The scene I'm thinking of shows Littlefoot on the screen.
-
Alrighty:
The scene I'm thinking of shows Littlefoot on the screen.
[/QUOTE]Alrighty:
The scene I'm thinking of shows Littlefoot on the screen.Oh yeah! A scene in one of the LBT movies that shows Littlefoot! Real (bleep)specific there!  :lol :lol
-
LOL
It's a scene that shows ONLY Littlefoot on the screen, after LBT 6.
See if that helps. :p:Oh, and ignore the sound effects in the music clip. Just listen to the music.
-
Well, there was one in LBT 10 with ONLY littlefoot on screen.
I can't get the quote thing to work.
-
Well, there was one in LBT 10 with ONLY littlefoot on screen.
I can't get the quote thing to work.
Well ok - Littlefoot is the only Character in the scene. There is a background as well. :P:
Btw, to use the quote thing, copy/paste the text into the new post, highlight it, and click QUOTE.
Either that, or press QUOTE, paste the text in, and press QUOTE*. The QUOTE tags must be in a certain order. Your last post had them backwards. The Closing QUOTE tag needs to have the slash (/QUOTE). The Opening Quote tag needs to Not have the slash (QUOTE).
-
I can't get the music thing to play. and I noticed that the quote feature didn't work either.
-
You can't get the music to play?
Try right-clicking the link, and clicking "Save Target As..." to download the MP3. That should solve your problem if you can't just click the link normally. I can download it fine, over here.
http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3 (http://www3.telus.net/public/anddonna/clip1.mp3)
-
Check out LBT 8 B)
-
Since I don't have the site with the music clip anymore, I'll ask another question in its place:
It's a well-known fact that Cera Claims to be at the back of the line most of the time, but who's actually been at the back of the line?
Name at least 3 situations before LBT 7 (LBT 1 - 6) where the Gang is crossing something narrow or jumping a gorge, and tell me who is at the back of the line (or last to jump) in each of these situations.
-
In the second movie Spike was last in line (with Ducky on his back) when they were crossing the log Littlefoot had pushed over the gorge. He seemed to be remarkably relaxed, not afraid of hight at all.
In LBT 5 it was again Spike who was last in line to cross the log when they were headed for "stinky place". Again he was (unlike Cera) perfectly at ease.
There was a very different image in LBT 6 when they were hoping across the rocky pillars. Spike seemed to be quite acrophobic. Perhaps it was the difference between walking across something solid (on the vines in LBT 7 he was again perfectly at ease) and jumping across open spaces. He was last in line a second time in LBT 6 when they were climbing out of and across another log (in that case he had to worry more about the sharptooth than about anything else).
In LBT 4 he too was last in line when they were fleeing from Ichty and Dill across a log. Ducky was sitting on his back and dismounted to recover a lost nightflower thereby making herself the last in the line.
In LBT 3 we had another log crossing (two in fact) and both times Spike was last in line (I think with Ducky on his back).
Yet another case in LBT 2 had all of them jumping across a gorge rather than using some kind of bridge. For once Spike went before Cera (who was last but one with only Ducky jumping after her).
-
Great answer, Malte!
Your turn!
-
Charles Grosvenor seems to have a kind of favor of filming into character's mouths with the camera zooming in on the uvula. Give me at least three examples (there are more examples) of scenes where he did that.
-
There's a scene in LBT V where Cera's Dad shouts for her, when the gang sneaks out to find food.
I can't think of any other, there are some scenes with mouths, like the Albertosaurus in LBT VI, and that crocodile in LBT X, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.
-
The first scene you described is one of those I had in mind (There they really rammed the camera down the characters throat. Personally I don't like that effect). I'm not a hundred percent certain about the other two scenes (I would have to check them out myself, but don't have my DvD's at hand). Anyway, go ahead, this game has been silent for too long already. Your turn.
-
Here goes an easy one:
Name 3 characters that the gang had to go look for, also specify the scene and the sequel it relates to.
-
Chomper in LBT 2, when he left after the song "You are one of us now".
Hyp, Nod, and Mutt in LBT 3, when the "Kids like us" leave to look for water in the Mysterious Beyond by themselves.
Dinah and Dana in LBT 6, when they go to Saurus Rock.
-
All good ones :D
Your turn Malte!
-
There are several scenes in the land before time movies in which the camera zooms very close into a character's eye often to create some special effect. Please give at least three examples for this.
-
First one: Doc's eye during the song: The Lone Dinosaur from LBT VI.
Second: Littlefoot's eye during the song: Beyond the Mysterous LBT VII
Third: Littlefoot's eye again during a begining scene in LBT X where he looks at the sun. You'll notice it sparkles when it gives a close up of his eye.
-
Correct :yes
Those are the very scenes I would have thought of too. Your turn KingdomKey23 :yes
-
Thank you very much. Okay, let's see....
Give me at least one example of a time when Spike's eating got the gang in trouble. (Should be easy)
(Let me let you all know I've only seen 1 through 7, almost all of 8, 10, and half of 11)
-
In film 7, when he chomps the vines they are crossing.
-
Yeah, I knew it was too easy. XD You're turn, Stitch.
-
Here's another semi-easy one:
How many siblings would Littlefoot have had if all of his mom's eggs had survived?
-
Out of the blue guess: six. I'd pop in the DVD if I didn't have to run off to a tutoring session.
-
Three siblings.
-
Three is right.
Your turn, Noname.
-
You there, Noname?
-
Sorry for the delay. How many times have we seen rain in the series?
-
Now that's a tough one...counting the movies:
LBT 1) 1
LBT 2) 1
LBT 3) 1
LBT 4) 1
LBT 5) 0
LBT 6) I want to say zero....
LBT 7) 1
LBT 8) snow doesn't count :p zero
LBT 9) 3
LBT 10) 0
LBT 11) 0
LBT 12) 0, I think...I've only seen this one once
Total in movies: 8
TV Series:
Cave of Many Voices: 1
Days of the Rising Waters: 1?
TOTAL: 10 times.
How close am I? I'm a little rusty on some of these, especially the TV series!
-
Close enough, I think that there is rain twice in the first movie, though, first when Littlefoot's egg is going to hatch, and second when Littlefoot's mother dies. But altogether, I can say that you're close enough to say... your turn!
-
Close enough, I think that there is rain twice in the first movie, though, first when Littlefoot's egg is going to hatch,
Shoot, you're right! :slap *whoops!*
[EDIT]
What is the first LBT movie that used a musical theme from one of the songs within the movie, on the DVD's main Menu?
What song was the music referring to?
[/EDIT]
-
Film 10, with Adventuring
-
Nope, there's actually one before that. Listen closely; it's not as obvious as Adventuring. B)
-
9, thanks for the silver platter :p I'll put it with the rest of my servingware
-
Enjoy the gift answer to the rediculously hard question. :lol
(Sorry the question was so brutal; I thought it was easier when I wrote it. I realized after how hard it really was).
By the way, the referenced song is "Chanson D'Ennui". It's a *really* subtle reference.
Anyways, your turn to ask a question Tails! :D
-
LET'S SEE HMM... a non-bruital, but challenging question...
okay, I'll be easy then :p
what are the 3 songs to be sang by a celebrity singer and also by the cast themselves?
(not including the TV show, I've only seen a couple episodes all the way through)
-
LBT 7: Very Important Me
LBT 9: No One Has To Be Alone (in-movie-rendition)
LBT 10: Me and My Dad
-
um... not quite
they're not necessarily in the same movie either...
-
If we hold on together (original movie version by Diana Ross, Sing along songs version by Aria and Thomas Dekker).
No one has to be alone (closing credit version by Donny Osmond).
Bestest Friends (closing credit version by Olivia Newton John).
-
yessirree! ur turn
-
What kind of dinosaur is Guido?
-
Darn me! I'm really sorry I had forgotten to post the next question.
I'm sorry about that. I sure didn't mean for this game to fall silent :(
What kind of dinosaur is Guido?
Microraptor?
-
Correct.
-
Please name one dinosaur species for each land before time sequel that hadn't been shown in any previous sequel (swimmers and flyers are accepted as well even though they are strictly speaking no dinosaurs).
-
Please name one dinosaur species for each land before time sequel that hadn't been shown in any previous sequel (swimmers and flyers are accepted as well even though they are strictly speaking no dinosaurs).
II - Struthiomimus (Strut and Ozzy)
III - Velociraptor (sharptooth)
IV - Icthyornis (Icky)*
V - Allosaurus (The Green sharptooth (ugly green too))
VI - Diplodicus (doc)
VII - rhamphorhynchus (Rinkus)
VIII - Pachyrhinosaurus (Mr. Thicknose)
IX - Ophthalmosaurus (Mo)
X - Brachiosaurus (Shorty)
XI - Tinysaurus (Fictional little group)
XII - Microraptor (Guido)

Did I do good?
-
Almost. By the way, the sharptooth that was featured in the fifth movie was actually a Giganotosaurus. Allosaurus was in the sixth movie.
-
Almost. By the way, the sharptooth that was featured in the fifth movie was actually a Giganotosaurus. Allosaurus was in the sixth movie.
....You know, I grew up all my life thinking it was an allosaurus. I mean, it even had the crests above its eyes. Geeze. I feel like an idiot.
-
Also there were Brachiosaurs in the flashback of LBT 6 already. I admit though that there is only one species which I think appeared in LBT 10 for the first time. Special laurel if you manage to find it otherwise the floor is still yours as the other answers are all correct (the Tinysaurs are not just fiction though. They might be Thecodontosaurus. I'm quite sure that when the movie appeared we had several more (and more likely) alternatives) in any case they are not a fictional invention.
-
I think I'll go all the way...was it one of those random Saltasaurus?
-
Possibly, though I cannot tell for sure if one of those longnecks was a Saltasaurus (probably was considering the number of longnecks in the movie). I was thinking of Sue who seemed to be a Supersaurus. In any case you answered for all the sequels. Your turn :)
-
Alright, here is the next question:
Give three examples that prove The original Sharptooth's near supernatural level of strength and superiority over a normal t-rex and even other sharpteeth in the series.
(For example, name a time where Sharptooth does something that you would probably not expect any other sharpteeth in the series to do)
-
- A thorn in the eye did not halt it from chasing the kids for the rest of the movie.
- It killed (or severely injured, if it was the great "earthshake" that 'finished the job') Littlefoot's mother with a simple scratch/bite on the back.
- It survived a deathly fall after the forementioned earthshake.
-
I would have also accepted "Leapt distances that would be unnatural for a tyrannosaur (for instance, when they were trying to drop the rock on him.) And "based it's head against a rock repeatedly with no side effects" :p Your turn!
-
Oh, dear. I've got to stop answering these trivia questions. :p I'll think of something later.
-
Who is the eldest out of the gang of five?
-
And just to clear any misconceptions up, this is the other gang of five featured in the LBT movies.
-
Who is the eldest out of the gang of five?
I would say...DUCKY!...unless Petrie was born first and we didn't know about it >.>
-
I'm going to watch a couple of scenes in some LBT movies to confirm my answer, but I believe you are incorrect.
-
LBT one shows Ducky hatching first implying her to be the oldest one. LBT V claims Cera to be the oldest (how could they know without them or their parents being around at the same place at the time when they hatched?). Which movie do you think was right Many Cav?
-

Personally, I think it's ducky since we all saw she hatched first, unless they all hatched at the same time, which then no one would be oldest :p
-
Those, in fact, were the two movies I was referring to. If one assumes the original movie to not be 'out of order' (i.e., scene 2 doesn't occur before scene 1), then it is correct that Ducky was born before Cera. However, it is known among the gang somehow in LBT 5 that Cera is the oldest. Cera knew it, and Littlefoot knew it (Littlefoot: "But that's you!" Cera: "I know."). How did they know? Who told them this? One can only speculate. I was basing this trivia question on the assumption that Cera's hatching was shown before Ducky's on the original movie, but after watching the first scenes again, I see this is not the case. It could very well be that both hatchings occurred near the same time, and that due to the 'camera' not being able to conveniently show both hatchings at the same time without making it look ugly, one was arbitrarily chosen to be shown before the other. It is on this that I say Cera was born before Ducky, but you may well disagree, so I'm just going to let which ever of you two (Achillobator and Malte279) gets here first post the next question, though I think it would be more fair to let Malte279 do it since Achillobator did a question most recently.

I am cool with that. Malte, it's your turn I guess :)
-
It would have been fine with me for you to take the next turn. :)
But here we go:
Please give at least two examples where events from a sequel are very similar to events from the original land before time movie.
-
The longneck cloud forming in LBT 9 and the hatching of Tricia in LBT 12?
-
(just to see their validity) the hatching of a dinosaur in 2 (and for that matter, the appearance of a baby spiketail/triceratops/duckbill/pterodactyl in 2,) 3 young yellow trisceratopes in 2, Hyp falling into the tar in 3, unusual weather patterns in 4, Migration in search of food in 5, The rock that looks like a longneck (being key to the story) in 6, The stories of how people reached the great valley in 7, 3 young triceratopes in 7, -very abstract- Spike gets a 'family' in 8, the mountains that burn (to find their way home) in 9, Littlefoot having a parent in the movie in 10, prejudice to those that are different in 11, Petrie having troubles with flight in 12; TV Series: The return of a tyrannosaur who has a scar on his eye
-
It was in a way a stupid question as there are too many possible answers and it depends very much on the individual whether or not a close similarity to LBT is seen or not. Two examples which I had in mind was the sharptooth of LBT 6 (falling down a deep gorge, perceived dead and yet survives which turn out when one of the heroes is near (in this case particularly near) by), and the fight with the swimming sharptooth in LBT 9 (Mo's arrival just in time, same as Cera's in the original movies final fight and his supposed death and return similar to that of Petrie). Anyway, the next question is yours to ask Many Cav.
-
AAAAH!!! :bang I dun it again.... Don't worry, I'll think of something, guys....
Hahaha, I said "do worry", didn't I?
-
How many LBT videos have been released on VHS?
-
you mean before they switched to DVD? 12
-
Not necessarily before they switched to DVD. They were still releasing new VHS videos even while they were releasing them on DVD. And, no, your answer is incorrect.
-
they were still/weren't releasing videos by ten?
-
If I answer any more questions, I'll be basically giving the answer away. :p I asked the question, YOU figure it out. :yes
-
then it's 11, because I know that they had at least to 9
-
It's most definitely NOT 11.
-
hmm... well I know I have 1-9, and Sing Along and I know there's 2 Sing Alongs so it's apparently more than 12 XD
so I'll give some one else a chance, I can't have all the answers...
-
There have been 13 videos released on vhs (films 1-11 and 2 sing-alongs).
-
You are correct. It's your turn.
-
Here's an easy one:
Who performs the theme song for the TV series?
-
Ladysmith Black Mambazo?
This is where Wikipedia can come in handy. :D
-
That's the group.
Your turn.
-
What species of prehistoric crocodile appeared in the tenth movie?
-
Hey, hey, hey, Dinonut! It's not quite your turn yet! You have to answer a question first!
Here's another easy one: How many movies had Topsy appeared in?
-
All of them except for the fourth movie.
-
Yeah, I made that pretty easy. It's your turn.
-
oddly... I've never noticed that... and 4 is my fav...
-
There is a very distinct shot of a grownup threehorn during the scene when the longneck herd enters the Great Valley. I'm quite sure that threehorn is supposed to be Cera's dad. However, it still is the only movie without him saying a single word.
-
wait... isn't John Ingle still credited?
-
I don't think so
-
I just checked the credits of the fourth movie. Yes John Ingle is still credited.
-
I forgot.
-
thought so lol, maybe removed scenes?
-
How about a medium difficulty one: A
Who is the oldest voice actor who voices one of the Gang of Five?
Please give the actor and the charactor's name.
-
Jeff Bennet / Petrie?
-
Jeff Bennet / Petrie?
Nope.
-
Will Ryan? He voiced Petrie in the original movie and (according to imdb) was born in 1939.
-
Will Ryan? He voiced Petrie in the original movie and (according to imdb) was born in 1939.
Correct.
-
Hey Mates, is this till on?
/Lillefot
-
My mistake not to come up with the next question, sorry about that. :(
Which voice actor from the land before time sequels had given a voice to a character in Dink the little dinosaur before and which are the characters in both series voiced by this voice actor?
-
Anndi McAfee. She voiced Amber in Dink the Little Dinosaur and Cera from The Land Before Time.
-
That's correct :yes
Your turn Kacie :)
-
Which voice actor from the land before time sequels had given a voice to a character in Dink the little dinosaur before and which are the characters in both series voiced by this voice actor?
What about Frank Welker? He played numerous Sharpteeth on LBT, and voiced Scat and Crusty on Dink.
-
:p 'waiting'...'waiting'...zzz
-
:p 'waiting'...'waiting'...zzz
For me? Doesn't my answer have to be OKed by Malte first?
-
I OKed Kacie's answer back in April. She came up with the name I had been thinking of it would be her turn to come up with the next question.
I expect your answer to be right too though LettuceBacon&Tomato (I would have to check it out) and I guess it would be best if you just post the next question if you have one in mind.
-
I'll see if I can word this as clearly as possible. If you need clarification, just ask, and I'll rephrase it.
When using Google Image Safesearch, which LBT character, when you google just his or her name without quotes, has the most pictures with them in it appear on the first page of (18) images?
-
Littlefoot perhaps?
Thought it was 9 or more...
-
When I Google Image'd Littlefoot on Safesearch I only got three of him on the first page. The other character has more hits than that! Keep trying!
-
Safesearch
but LOL :slap
-
Safesearch eh? Well, you learn something new everyday. :^.^:
My next guess, Pterano.
-
...with five hits. Better, but there is a character with more.
-
Loofah?
-
Loofah gets you zero pictures, since a loofah is also a plant-like sponge. However, his counterpart, Doofah, is the answer I was looking for. She gets nine Image hits, eight of which are the front cover of LBT 13, which she appears on.
For great perseverance, Lillefot, it's now your turn!
-

I can swear I could get 11 out of Loo...Doo... whatever...
Well, now we know that!
Fun to search for inforamtion. :^.^:
Okey dokey artic hockey, now I guess have to figure another one out.
-
I'll restart this game.
Which sequel does Ducky say that she has an aunt that sleep swims?
-
This looks fun. May I join?
It's LBT XII: The Great Day of the Flyers :yes
-
That is correct. :) Your turn!
-
Yay!
In which sequel does Ducky say the following: "Eww! I cannot swim in this! No, no, no!"?
-
LBT II - In the sinking sands?
-
Yep yep yep!
Your turn, Lillefot :yes!
-
I feel a bit awkward with where I'm going with this post. I just found this section today so I haven't answered anything. So without an okay from any authority that I can just ask a question of my own for free, I can't, as it would be unfair to the one who has actually earned the right to ask. But by looking at dates, I noticed that this topic has been left alone for over a month before. But surely people still like to check this section out, so I'll try to say something to keep others occupied until this section officially resumes. So since it wouldn't be fair for me ask something, maybe I can hold your interest by giving an answer and until this gets really popular again and the next person asks an official question, perhaps you can try to figure out which question would have had to have been asked for my answer to fit. Here is my answer as if a real question had actually been asked:
Wow, good question! I'm pretty sure I know one movie that fits this, but since you want two, let me check my facts again to make sure about another, although someone will probably beat me to it.
All right, I got back just in time! No one else responded yet so I can still answer. Here are two movies that fit the criteria that was asked. The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water is one. One character does it to Littlefoot three times for sure. The first two times it happens, it involves all five characters, not just Littlefoot. But the same character does it to only Littlefoot toward the very end. The second movie it happens in is The Land Before Time VI: The Secret of Saurus Rock. One character works alone to do it to Littlefoot twice. The third time it happens, this character works together with another popular character to do it to Littlefoot. I have met the criteria in two movies, though it happens in a variety of circumstances.
Now, try to guess what my question would have been. I'm not cheating anyone out of their rightful turn and I only want to keep this interesting to the fans of this topic who still come here. So when this continues as it was meant to, please ignore this post. New posts can be very far apart here so I'm just being careful, but I know that the long absences that occur from the usuals here are for very good, valid reasons. Limited internet access, busy with scholastic and personal affairs, and/or a heavy work schedule etcetera can keep the most dedicated visitors occupied. As a member here I understand this and I'm trying to contribute what I can while some of the main faces who are normally around this issue are very preoccupied with important issues. I am very sorry if I'm overstepping bounderies in my attempt here and will stop immediately if asked to. I'm just trying to do my part as a member of this community. Later!
-
Rescues? I remember in LBT 9 Mo warns all of them about the Pliosaur before it eats them, and later in the final battle, I can't quite remember, but Mo does something to save Littlefoot, though I thought he saved the others as well.
And for LBT 6, Doc and the popular Grandpa Longneck rescues him from sharpteeth. But rescuing happens like eight times a movie, so you might be referring to something more specific.
-
You got it pretty much. The question for my answer was basically, "Name two of the movies where a single character saves, or has help saving, at least Littlefoot three times." In 9, Mo saves the whole gang from the swimming sharptooth twice, then just Littlefoot at the end from drowning. In 6, Doc saves Littlefoot twice be himself, from falling, then from a storm. At the end, Doc and Littlefoot's grandpa work together to fight off the two sharpteeth, saving the whole gang. I knew my question was extremely specific, so if someone got the rescuing theme, I'd give it to them. You got it. Please go ahead at your next convinience.
-
There are two Great Valley inhabitants who meet the following criteria:
1. is an adult female
2. has name spoken on screen
3. walks on two legs
Can anyone find both?
-
If there's Great Valley residents ONLY, then...
My guess's on:
Mama Swimmer
Mama Flier (when she doesn't fly)
-
It depends on whether or not "Mama swimmer" or "Mama flyer" are regarded as names (of course we never ever heard Littlefoot's grandparents being called with any actual name either).
-
It depends on whether or not "Mama swimmer" or "Mama flyer" are regarded as names (of course we never ever heard Littlefoot's grandparents being called with any actual name either).
Yeah, I had that in mind. But I can't figure anyone else out. Except for Doofah, but she's no GV resident...
Well, we'll see!
-
I hope you think I'd make the question a little tougher than that!
I don't think those are their actual names. The names I'm thinking of are indisputably surnames.
Another clue: Both have only one other character they've been seen or heard interacting with.
-
In that case, I'm stuck for now. Looking forward to the answer, if someone can figure it out. :)
-
Another hint, maybe? They're both one-movie characters (indeed, one scene characters), and both have their own trivia question somewhere in this thread.
-
Mrs. Maia (LBT 6) and Mrs. Tubehead (LBT 12)? I'm afraid I got the first one wrong though as she is not likely to walk on two legs. In case of Mrs. Tubehead we can only guess as she was never identified on screen.
-
Both right, Malte. I count Mrs. Maia since she used one of her appendages as a hand (to throw Ducky), and so apparently has two hands and two legs. Mrs. Tubehead, according to the subtitles of Tria's line, is actually Mrs. Twoped, which directly means "walks on two legs."
Both iffy, but defendable. Your turn, Malte.
-
Nope, nope, nope!
I hid one further hint in this message (a very subtle one though).
is it may be spike????
-
Adam did answer that question back in 2004!
It was Mrs. Maia(saurus) from LBT 6.
But you reminded me that it is my turn to come up with the next question.
Which term, which is almost always "translated" into a dinosaur language word in LBT is uttered in its "human" word in a few LBT movies?
-
Well, I know Ducky called a 'buzzing stinger' a 'bee' in the LBT6 'Bad Luck' song... But I'm pretty sure I've heard 'sky water' called 'rain' a few times too. Any luck?
-
I realize my question was too open as there are too many possible answers. You gave two of the possible answers but I was thinking of a different one (and meanwhile several more possibilities came to my mind).
Too many possible answers. It is up to you whether you want to try to find the one of many possible answers I had in mind or if you want to post the next question.
-
Well, might as well try again. I'm kind of curious to see how long it takes me to come up with the one you initially thought of.
How about 'sleep stories' and 'dreams?'
-
Not the one I was thinking of. The word I had in mind is mentioned (in dinosaur tongue) quite frequently in different LBT movies.
-
Hmm, this is tough. How about 'bright circle' and 'sun?'
-
^ That's the one I was thinking of :yes
I think the word sun is used almost exclusively in songs (e.g. peaceful valley (the closing credit version of which mentions the moon as well) and Always there).
Your turn DarkWolf :)
-
Ah, right! I was thinking of 'Big Water,' in which they also mention the sun.
Sorry if this has been asked before, these are hard to think of... And this thread has a lot of pages :lol
Which lead character from a previous LBT film makes a brief guest appearance in LBT XII? (An appearance that doesn't make much sense, I might add :p )
-
Seems like I saw this somewhere. Mo?
-
Yep, that's it! Your go.
-
I honestly have no clue what to say. Someone else can have my turn. I just wanted the pleasure of answering the question.
-
Ok, this is probably goin to be really easy but I can't think anything better, so here we go (also srry if its been asked before)
Of the origanal five which is the oldest according to...
1) The first movie
2) The sequals
-
You mean the Gang of Five, I suppose?
Cera/Ducky
Ducky appears to be hatched first in the Orginal Land before Time
Cera claims to be the oldest in the begining of The Mysterious Island
Sorry, if I've missunderstand the question.
-
nah, u got it. it was pretty easy anyway, just wanted to give it a try
-
Who say this line:
"And so what Now?"
-
Cera in LBT 5?
-
Cera in LBT 5?
I should have been more specific. :DD
the character is the correct but LBT 5 is incorrect. Which movie or episode did she say that line?
-
Hey Malte, do you think you have the answer to this? :D
-
Who say this line:
"And so what Now?"
Isn't that the last line of the song Cera sings in the TV episode "The Great Log Running Game"?
-
Who say this line:
"And so what Now?"
Isn't that the last line of the song Cera sings in the TV episode "The Great Log Running Game"?
Hey! you got it right dude.
-
Name at least one LBT film in which Ducky never speaks her most famous catchphrase.
-
Is # 13 one of them?
-
Nope, nope, nope! :p She uses it on at least two occasions in that movie: during the scene when the gang is sneaking off at night after the yellow bellies, and after she and Petrie push a rock onto a Baryonyx's head.
-
I'll guess LBT XII (12)?
Seriously, how can the writers screw that up? Ducky without her catchphrase?! That'd be like Mr. Threehorn being a total sweetheart for an ENTIRE sequel (LBT IV does not 'cuz he never had a speaking role :p).
-
Naw, she says it six times in that movie.
Seriously, how can the writers screw that up? Ducky without her catchphrase?! That'd be like Mr. Threehorn being a total sweetheart for an ENTIRE sequel (LBT IV does not 'cuz he never had a speaking role :p).
My thoughts exactly.
-
LBT XI?
-
No, six times again. (I've counted. :p)
I should've thought longer and come up with a better question. <_< It's only a matter of time before you guys work your way down the list of movies until you hit the first correct one, no trivia knowledge required. Oh well...at least we've got the thread going again.
-
Well, I KNOW she says it in LBT I; otherwise, her catchphrase would be out of character. If my memory correctly recalls, she uses it in LBT II, LBT III, LBT IV, and LBT V. Jeez, how in Hades did I miss Ducky not using her catchphrase for an entire film :crazy?
-
You've got it right that it's not any of those. :) That leaves five more films to choose from. (For the record, in the first movie, Ducky says "yep yep yep" four times, plus an extended version of the catchphrase containing seven "yep"s. :lol)
-
How about the sixth sequel? I remember her giving that really sarcastic remark to Petrie when he says, "You swimmer right? If you fall, there is a river alllllll the way down there for you to swim in."
And that sequel was a bit "unremarkable" IMHO. :p I thought it was a sequel where it was a bit weird. So was it the sixth?
-
'Fraid not. She still said "yep yep yep" four times in that movie. :p
-
Hmm this is rather hard. ^^
Wait a mintue! It's the seventh sequel! I don't remember her ONCE saying "yepyep".
-
YOU GOT IT! (Yep yep yep! :p)
Incredibly, considering her rather prominent role in the film, the only regular catchphrase Ducky utters in LBT VII is “no no no”.
The other sequel in which no “yep yep yep” is heard is LBT IX, though Ducky does use “yes yes yes”. There are also a few TV episodes in which the catchphrase is not used, including “The Great Log-Running Game”, “The Days Of Rising Waters”, and “Return To Hanging Rock”. (There may be more, but I haven’t checked all the episodes.)
By the way, when you said "the seventh sequel", I thought you meant LBT VIII for a while, and then realized that last time, you guessed "the sixth sequel", and it was clear that you were talking about movie #6. (Technically, the second movie in a series would be the first sequel, the third movie would be second sequel, and so on.) Anyway, you’re up, Rat_lady!
-
Seventh sequel never fails! ^^
Hmmm let's see....
Fill in the blank:
"Why not boring beyond or the.._________________ beyond.
-
Oh, nothing out here of any interest to us
-
Yup! ^^ You're up!
-
Stitch?
-
Which LBT video game actually has you play as Petrie against a sharptooth?
-
Gah...I guess the Land Before Time game boy advance?
-
One of those LBT TV series web games? I'm pretty sure there's one where you play as Petrie and you have to sneak past Redclaw.
-
It is the LBT GBA game Into the Mysterious Beyond.
Your turn, Rat_lady7.
-
Which other movie was released around the same time as "The Land Before Time" and was beaten by our beloved film, with Land Before Time grossing $30.4 million above this other film?
-
Oliver and Company?
-
YUP!
Your turn. :)
-
I don't believe this question has been asked yet .
Which country was behind the inspiration for the creation of LBT?
-
Though I don't have as much evidence as I'd like to present this answer, I'm going to have to go with Ireland. Am I at least close?
-
Yep, yep, yep!
You're up, TFS ;).
-
There are two movies where Littlefoot is saved three times. During one of these movies, his friends are saved at the same time for two of the three times he is saved, and for the third time, only he was in danger. In the other movie he is saved in, he is saved by one character twice, and the third time he is saved, it is through the combined efforts of two characters. What two movies are these?
-
I'm going to guess...
LBT IX for the first one. I believe the Gang was saved twice by Mo (the locusts and the Lipleurodon), and then Littlefoot was saved from drowning by Mo.
LBT VI for the second one. Doc saved Littlefoot twice, and then Littlefoot was saved the third time by Doc and his grandfather.
-
I'm sorry, that was a good guess, but- oh wait, you're right! Wasn't expecting that one to be nailed so well and so quickly. The turn is now yours to be done with as you see fit.
-
Okay, here's one.
What movie in the series had a scene in which Ducky was fearless of heights and then in the same film had another scene where she was not so fearless of heights?
-
I'm going to say she was fearless of heights in one scene and not so fearless in another is in LBT VI.
She was climbing a mountian I think it was? And she climbed Saurus rock with no fear in one scene.
And the other scene when she was not do fearless of heights was when she was crossing the log bridge at the top of a chasm with a little river at the bottem of it.
-
Correct! She was also hopping across a chasm with no fear.
You're up :yes!
-
All right, hmmm....Okay I got one. Don't blame me if it's easy, I can't think today.
What movie do we meet two characters that we never hear from and are never mentioned again in any of the other sequals or in any of the episodes and who are they?
-
I think there is more than one possible answer.
It could be the Ozzy and Strut from LBT 2 (though eggeaters are mentioned and there are two who resemble Ozzy and Strut very much in LBT 4 they are never again explicitly mentioned).
The same goes for Dinah and Dana from LBT 6. Even though there are similar looking threehorn kids in the opening of (I think) LBT 8 they are never explicitly referred to again.
Rinkus and Sierra from LBT 7 also vanish never to be seen or heard of again.
-
Sorry Malte279, all very good answers and I even forgot about those characters never being mentioned again, but that's not what I'm looking for. Good try. :)
-
Icky and Dill from LBT 4 perhaps?
-
Sorry, but those characters still aren't what I'm looking for. Good try Malte279. :)
-
The Rainbowfaces from LBT 7?
-
Still, no, the Rainbowfaces still aren't it. Good guess though :)
-
Rooter and the original Sharptooth from the first LBT?
-
No, still not what I'm looking for. Good guess there though Cancerian Tiger :) I completely forgot about them. Okay, this was a harder question that I thought. Maybe I can give you a hint.
These characters were in a sequal that was later than the movies already mentioned. Hopefully this will help you.
-
I don’t think it’s so much that the question is too hard as that there are too many possible answers. :p
The tinysauruses from LBT XI were briefly mentioned in “Stranger from the Mysterious Above”, but not by their individual names (so I'm sure if they would count or not). Would any combination of Lizzie, Skitter, Chatter, Dusty, Rocky, or Big Daddy be the correct answer?
-
Ah, so I see someone's posted on here again. :) Thanks Pangaea!
But sadly, I think they're ARE too many possible answers. Oh well, guess this'll keep on going. Your guess isn't correct. Don't worry, you were very close though! :)
-
I'm just going to narrow this down, and hopefully someone will get this.
They're both normal sized Longnecks and they appeared at a big meeting in the series. I really don't care if this gives it away, I just want my turn to be over. <_<
Hope that helps! :)
-
OOH ooh! Is it Sue and Pat from number X?
-
...FINALLY!!!! :lol
Yep, you got it! You're up Allicloud! ;)
-
Alright, the new rules have been pinned for this section, so let’s get things rolling again. I will wait to update the other two over the next few days, so if other people want to update them instead, they have plenty of time before I take care of it myself.
Here is my new trivia question:
Name a/the time when the main kids were saved by a character, only the kids had no idea that the character saved them for the remainder of the movie. To answer, name the movie, the character who saved them, and what disaster the kids were saved from.
-
Okay, the answer is Mo from IX and I'm guessing he saved them from that Swimming Sharptooth.
-
Exactly, miss. The very first time Mo saves the kids from the swimming sharptooth in movie IX, none of them ever found out. In fact, Cera believed the exact opposite, thinking that Mo just found them being in danger funny and didn't do anything about it.
The turn is now yours to control as you see fit.
-
We're waiting for your question when ever you're ready.
-
Okay, I got it. Sorry for putting it up so late.
What is the one movie where the gang DOESN'T get chased by Sharpteeth even though Sharpteeth are in the movie?
-
Well, they aren't chased by sharpteeth in IV, but I don't recall seeing any there to begin with. Yet, in VII, there are sharpteeth during the flash back that never chase the gang.
-
Hm, I'd say you got it right. I was leaning towards VII, seeing as I always considered Ichy and Dil sharpteeth, but...
Anyways, you're up TFS! :)
-
Sorry if that was confusing. I didn't mean that I was guessing both IV and VII as possible replies. VII was indeed my only answer.
When is the third time Littlefoot and Cera began a physical fight?
-
I believe that would be LBT V. The first was the most memorable one and was in the original, and then they had a brief scuffle in LBT II. LBT V would be the third time.
-
Awesome work. That is absolutely correct, miss. You are welcome to ask away at your convinience.
-
Who is an LBT character that has been mentioned but never seen by viewers, and also has a bizarre and potentially dangerous condition?
-
Petrie said in The Meadow of Jumping Waters that his uncle Pterano knows a leaf eater who knows a leaf eater who ate a tickly red tree star and got bad luck. Is that who you have in mind?
-
Ducky's aunt who sleep-swims?
-
Sorry TFS, but Stitch guessed who I had in mind ;).
Your turn, Stitch :).
-
Well, Stitch hasn't posted an answer yet and according to the rules, I can post a new question. The extended score sequence of Sharptooth and the Earthquake (the part where Littlefoot's mother is fighting the sharptooth, from 7:39 to 7:58 of the track) has been used twice (I spent all day watching all the movies to be sure this was correct). Which two films used the unused score sequence and what was the situation at the time?
Edit: It has actually been used 3 times. I re-watched the movies and found another.
-
Here's one...
List every single time a character has cried in Land before time.
-
wait... isn't John Ingle still credited?
I just checked the credits of the fourth movie. Yes John Ingle is still credited.
thought so lol, maybe removed scenes?
Yes! Deleted scenes from movie 4 with Topsy! So my question is, are these ever going to be released and if so when?! That would make the amazing movie 4 even better if Topps was in it...would make it a more well rounded movie with more of the usual supporting cast. So is anyone gonna help me look for the deleted scenes? Or answer my question above?
-
Okay, here's one:
What was the first time Ducky was seriously injured? (this'll be pretty easy since injuries are rare in LBT)
-
Kay, since no one's answering back to the original. List every single time a character has cried.
-
I have a topic about this but since it seems idiotic to ask just in a topic..let's see who can list it here (unless someone does start to in said topic, otherwise I can move on to another question)
-
Okay, here's one:
What was the first time Ducky was seriously injured? (this'll be pretty easy since injuries are rare in LBT)
CAn we answer whichever we want? cause I want to say the bee stings in LBT 6
-
Nope...unless the 1 I'm thinking of actually counts...what the hell it doesn't so you get it right. UR turn
-
Your turn, Lettuce Bacon and Tomato!! :)
-
Since you're not answering I'll do one in the meantime:
List everytime a character has cried in LBT.
-
C'mon, someone try!
-
Your turn, Lettuce Bacon and Tomato!! :)
Oh, I get to go? I thought I had to get the question right.
Allright:
"In all of the LBT, only one character has been named on-screen using only a part of their exact scientific name.
I'm not talking about something close (like Petrie for Pterodactyl)
I'm not talking about something exact but with something added on (like Pterano)
I'm talking about if a character was named Ptero, or Dactyl.
What character fits this criteria (I couldn't find a better way of explaining myself, sorry.)
-
It must be Maia, from Maiasaura.
-
Bingo, you've got it. Bonus points if you can figure out a better way I could have worded my question :p
But it's your turn regardless
-
Content moved to different post. :)
-
Actually, LBT, Pterano fits your criteria as well, as both Petrie and Pterano are pteranodontes. And Hyp, Nod and Mutt fit your criteria too. And even Cera. But I can read minds :lol , so I knew what you meant. :)
I would have formulated it this way: What is the only LBT character whose surname is a part of its species' exact scientific name? The only answer to this question is Ms. Maia.
Now a question of my own: Are there any spiketails permanently settled in the Great Valley besides Spike? Give at least one piece of evidence for your claim.
-
No, because 1.Tippy's mom said she didn't know there were any spiketails in the valley, and
2. Ducky's mom said she adopted Spike since there were no other spiketails living in the valley
So technically, all the spiketails seen in the valley (except Spike) were only staying there temporarily.
I hope I got it right... VIII is one of my faves...
-
Anyone's welcome to add any ideas they have to the skywater question! :)
-
I agree, Dr. Curzon. Your turn.
-
Okay... List all the times the characters who have tried being 10+ feet in the air and don't have wings.
Note: Being on a tree or a rock does NOT count. The character must be in midair.Riding on a flyer counts though.
:goodluck
-
Movie 1: Sharptooth jumps up 10 feet in midair and lands on ledge.
Movie 5: Gang is catapulted off log by shark and onto beach
Movie 5: Ducky is kidnapped by pteradactyl
Movie 6: Littlefoot's nightmare
Movie 4: Ducky gets kidnapped by Icky
Movie 7: Ducky gets kidnapped
Movie 7: Ducky gettig kidnapped again
Movie 7: Gang gets blasted out of volcano
Movie 7: Ducky falls off ledge
Movie 7: Gang rides fyers back
Movie 11: Petrie flys a tinysaur
Movie 5: Chomper falls into water
Movie 5: Littlefoot jumps into save Chomper
All i can think of 4 now
Anyways, can anyone try to complete question about skywater I brought up on the previous page? I don't want it to be ignored.
-
Errr... You missed two. The part when Cera flung Ducky near Spike's nest in 1, and Tricia riding Guido, Petrie, and Petrie's siblings... But anyways, It's your turn. :D
-
Alright, the question someone asked a while back I gave on the previous page. Hold on, I'll copy it to here:
My response to a question that took place before I joined:
Sorry for the delay. How many times have we seen rain in the series?
Don't you mean "sky water"?
Action9000 responded:
- Code: on
Now that's a tough one...counting the movies:
LBT 1) 1
LBT 2) 1
LBT 3) 1
LBT 4) 1
LBT 5) 0
LBT 6) I want to say zero....
LBT 7) 1
LBT 8) snow doesn't count zero
LBT 9) 3
LBT 10) 0
LBT 11) 0
LBT 12) 0, I think...I've only seen this one once
Total in movies: 8
TV Series:
Cave of Many Voices: 1
Days of the Rising Waters: 1?
TOTAL: 10 times.
How close am I? I'm a little rusty on some of these, especially the TV series!
Noname, who originally asked the question, responded:
Close enough, - Code: on
I think that there is rain twice in the first movie, though, first when Littlefoot's egg is going to hatch, and second when Littlefoot's mother dies. But altogether, I can say that you're close enough to say... your turn!
You think - Code: on
there was rain twice in the first movie?
Well, I'm happy to tell you your thinking is right; - Code: on
it does rain twice, first when Littlefoot's egg is about to hatch, and secondly when his mom dies.
Just to clear it up. (Unless my eyesight is bad and I'm seeing rain instead of something else!) - Code: on
And who knows if there was another rain sequence that didn't make the cut? (We know precious little about the deleted material from the first movie...
<_< )
As for if Action9000 was exactly right, and not just close enough...well, this thread http://gangoffive.net/index.php?showtopic=10500&st=0&#last (http://gangoffive.net/index.php?showtopic=10500&st=0&#last) I made is a poll on the rain sequences in the films. All the ones Action9000 mentioned are listed, with what happened during each occasion described - Code: on
(in 7 the flyer trio and the gang took shelter; in 9 there was the flood in the valley, then when it rained again, and finally during the scene where the Lioplrudon returns; and so on.)
But is that all? It was "close enough", according to Action9000. Anyone's willing to figure it out until (and after) jansenov gets back.
I really hope people don't ignore this post and just keep on going with the questions that have been asked. I'm basically re-asking this question since it wasn't fully answered the 1st time.
Or, since that one is mostly answered: List every time we've seen a character cryin LBT. No looking at my list on the topic. ;)
Uh...where did everyone go?
Since no one's answering this, and I doubt there WILL be an answer, I will make the next question. Name at least 20 female characters which have a name/ title (ex. Mrs. _____) and have been seen, so nameless sharpteeth mothers don't count. They have to be from the films, as I don't know the TV series characters.
Cera
Ducky
Ali
Tria
Ms. Maia
Tricia
Elsie
Sue
Lizzie
Dil
Mrs. Twoped
Doofah
Mama Spiketail
Mama Sharptooth (I've heard her called this)
Mama Flyer
Mama Swimmer
Grandma Longneck
Mama Longneck
Mrs. Mama
Alright, next one. List every time we've seen rain (or skywater) in the series (without looking at the results of when it was previously asked ages ago, which I have posted on this page. So no cheating! :lol
Edit: If no one wants 2 answer this one, I've got another: What was the one film where Topps appeared...but didn't get his typical role?
^ Let me guess... X when Cera had "the dream"? When he was one of Littlefoot's "admirers"?
Oh, and by the way, you missed one. You only put 19. The Old One is the one you missed.
Oh crap. And yeah, you're totally right about the Topps question. I am a big Topps fan and was very unimpressed to see the changed his role up for 10.
That's one of the many reasons 10 fell short of the last few films, like 9; it also had worse animation yet, introduced Littlefoot's dad, made it seem like Littlefoot was going on an adventure for the 1st time, and didn't have any of James Horner's original score, and was a pretty overdone, espicially the last 20 minutes. Oh, and the sharpteeth were really dumb. Not nearly as bad as 11 though.
Anyways your turn.
Okay... Time for a vice-versa. Name 30 MALE characters in the films, only those with names (various sharpteeth don't count) or have something like Mr. ____, Grandpa _____, and _____'s dad.
Littlefoot
Spike
Petrie
Chomper
Grandpa Longneck
Mr. Threehorn
Ozzie
Strut
Hyp
Nod
Mutt
Mr. Clubtail
Doc
Archie
Ichy
Tickles
Tippy
Skitter
Mo
Pterano
Sierra
Rinkus
Rooter
Papa Sharptooth
Big Daddy
Pat
Shorty
Guido
Sharptooth
Mr. Thicknose
Ding! You are correct! You just won 1,000,000 dollars in play money! :smile
Your turn...
Alright---how many times have we seen rain,or "sky water" in the seires? You can't look at my poll, that would be cheating, and you have to name the occasions on which they happened.
How many movies has Petrie's mom been in?
Let's see...
1, duh; 2, during the fight against Chomper's parents she looked like a giant Petrie; not 3; not in 4 either; she was in 5; not in 6; obviously in 7; in 8; 9; not in 10; in 11; again, obviously In 12, and I don't think she was in 13. That makes... 8 times. Did I get it right?
I think she appears in 3 and can be seen in the crowd in 4 and 6. The only one I don't think she appears in is 10. But good job. Your turn!
Okay... If you watched all the Land Before Time movies and TV shows nonstop, would you be done by 1 1/4 days? Why?
This is kinda a math question, too.
OK...I'll have to look at the lengths of the movies (without credits)
Movie 1: about 65 minutes
Movies 2-5: about 70 minutes
Movie 6: about 75 minutes
Movie 7: about 72 minutes (I've looked at the time lengths...hope this ain't cheating)
Movie 8: 70 minutes
Movie 9: 71 minutes
Movie 10: 80 minutes
Movie 11: 77 minutes
Movie 12: 75 minutes
Movie 13: aprox. 73 minutes
TOTAL: 728 miutes = just over 12 hours
Tv series: 26 23-minute episodes
26 times 23 = 589 minutes = just uder 10 hours
It adds up to about roughly 22 hours. You could do it in under a day.
Oops. Yeah, you're right. I just did an estimate. Hehe. :smile
Here's another: How many films have we seen pleisiosaurs in? (Sorry if the spelling is incorrect)
OK, since no one answered I'll say 4: in movies 4, 5, 9 and 12, respectively. At least I think that was a plesiosaur at the end of 4.
OK, here's another 1. What was the first time Spike sings in the films?
"Bad Luck" was Spike's first song.
EH---wrong
"You're one of us now"? He's moving his lips like he's singing.
You got it! :exactly
Your turn!
When was the first time Ducky became angry with Spike because he wasn't doing what the others were?
In 5:
"Spi-ike! U R supposed 2 be sad, like the rest of us!!"
Right!
Your turn.
OK...umm...I had a really good one...but I can't think of it right now...so I'll just go with this.
List every time Spike has licked someone.
EDIT: I'm thinking of the other one I had...I really am...it's just hard. If you can't answer this one don't worry, I have another one, I just...can't think of it!! <_<
EDIT: I remembered it! :celebrate
What was the first movie in which a character burps/belches? :lol
No ideas?
I believe that was LBT 5. Spike belched while eating the food on the island.
You got it! :smile
Edit: I think he also did before after drinking the water but good enough! Your turn!
:slap Forgot about that.
Let's see...What was the first movie to use digital ink and paint and computer techniques for animation instead of cels?
7. And then 8 and 9 were even worse. And then 10 came along... :x
Right! Your turn.
OK...what's a good one?
Since I can't think of a really good one right away, I'll go with the one I asked before, seeing if you can list every time Spike has licked someone. :D
Ok, I've got a different one.
List all the times the gang has just slept together. Not with anyone ese. ;)
Nobody? OK, here's another one I've asked before but now can actually give an answer to cause I've seen all the movies in the past 8 or so months.
List every time it's rained in LBT. :goodluck
Alright, since no one's answering I'll give you guys a 3rd option---you can choose either question. :goodluck
Still no attempts to answer?!
Alright, here's a new question.
Which of the LBT films havenot begun in space?
Ok, I've got a different one.
List all the times the gang has just slept together. Not with anyone ese. ;)
In the sharptooth trail in 1 and behind the rock near the beach in 5.
In 5 they also slept with Ali and Tickles amid the nighflowers, and in 9 they slept with a female longneck.
Oh, and in 3 when they all awake near water.
The second 2 were with someone else. That goes against the question I asked. The 3rd they didn't wake up near water.
There's one more time you missed. A clue: It happens before the series flew off the rails (with 10)
They sleep together in sharptooth's trail in 1, in the grass near the water in 3, behind the rock near the sea in 5, and near the brackish water in 9 after surviving their night encounter with the swimming sharptooth. There. :)
You missed when they sleep together in the base of threehorn peak in 7, but good enough.
Are all rainbowfaces like the ones shown in 7 or not? What is your evidence?
No, because:
1) The residents of the Great Valley knew what a rainbow face was, and they didn't react to seeing them and,
2) they were found (regular ones) in a different film, just don't remember which one.
EDIT: Now I remember. It was XI.
Right. Your turn.
Does Petrie have teeth? Give at least one scene where his teeth are shown, if so.
Yes, he does! We see them In 4, when they're in the land of mists, durnig the rainstorm. (awesomeness!) :smile
(http://i39.tinypic.com/dljn90.png)
"Me think it my teeth....or knees."
Oh, and here during the first film:
ARRRRRRGH!!! We have a mind reader on the GOF! :D Those were the scenes I was thinking of. ;)
There also is another one during the song "Kids like us" I think, in which Petrie grits his teeth.
ARRRRRRGH!!! We have a mind reader on the GOF
Thank you! :)
Thou art welcome. Anyway, the question? And who's gonna make it?
I'll do it. List all the times a member of the gang has been kidnapped.
Ozzy and Strut kidnapped Littlefoot in 2.
Ichy kidnapped Petrie and Ducky in 4.
The pterosaur kidnapped Ducky in 5.
Pterano and Co. kidnapped Ducky in 7.
I think that's it.
Good job.
Your turn.
Who was the first LBT character to mention the word "universe"? When was it said?
Ducky, in 6: "Just like your grandpa said. First we had bad luck, then maybe the whole great valley will have bad luck, then maybe the whole dinosaur world will have bad luck...and then maybe the whole universe will have bad luck!"
As a kid I particularly noted her use of universe at the end of that little speech. ;)
Your turn now.
Which LBT film have not started in outer space?
OK, since this thread has been dead for 8 months, I figure I should get it going again.
So here's my question: Believe it or not, an LBT character called another LBT character "Baby" once. Do you have any idea which movie/scene/character I'm taling about? Have fun answering.
:goodluck
I'm guessing it was Mama Longneck from LBT 9, when she discovers that the gang had found her nest. Am I right?
No, it's male-on-female...I admit I sorta gave it away in another post I made, though
Littlefoot to Ducky in LBT 2
"Baby, you don't wanna frighten him"~Littlefoot to Ducky during "You're One Of Us now".
Name one song each for Grandma and Grandpa they sing through the whole series.
Grandma sings 'Grandma's Lullaby', and Grandpa (along with Littlefoot) sings 'If Only'.
Only one of the sequels depicts a sharptooth drawing visible blood on screen. Which is it, and in what context does it happen?
LBT V, Mysterious island; the plated sharptooth takes on Chomper's Mum and Dad :3
Besides classifying themselves as 'dinosaurs', which LBT character actually classifies his (big hint) exact species? Which sequel is it?
the eggstealers maybe(struthionymus)? LBT2
Righto!! It's Struthiomimus. :DD
Ahh :DD
Which colour has the fat flyer with the high voice in LBT 12?
That would be light green Ducky123.
Q: What type of dinosaur is Mutt and what contient does he come from?
He is a Muttaburrasaurus, an Australian species.
Correct! Your turn now. :DD
Which are the LBT movies where not a single cave was shown?
3,6,8 and 13?
LBT III, V, VI, VIII, and XIII
Sorry for taking so long to respond. Littlefoot Fan is correct.
In which movies Ducky do not cries?
I may as well answer the opposite. Ducky cries in movies I, II, V, and XI.
They are all right(sure you can answer the opposite, it's easier to think of scenes, where a character does something instead of scenes, where a character doesn't do something)
However(as far as I remember) there's one more movie where Ducky cried....
The answer would be LBT III, IV, VI, VII, X, XII &, XIII.
Which songs haven't Littlefoot's voice in them???
Let's see... I've never heard him sing 'If we Hold on Together'. I don't think he sings Eggs, or stand tough, or when your big, or grandmas lullabye, or who needs you, or very important creature, or the mad song, or Bestest Friends, or Girls and Dads, or Things Change, and that's as far as I can go. I might be wrong about the ones from the third movie.
One of the gang should technically be a carnivore, but is presented as an herbivore.
Before I answer this question, I'll state this; I knew Ducky cried in VIII, but wasn't quite sure if it should be included.
Another thing, to Littlefoot Fan 93, I believe absolutely no one cried in IX, although I can be wrong.
Anyways:
That would be Petrie. Petrie is a pteranodon, a pterosaur. A pterosaurs' diet usually consists of fish.
The answer would be LBT III, IV, VI, VII, X, XII &, XIII.
Dang I forgot to reply on your answer :bang It's right of course.

Littlefoot sings in Things Change :) The others are right :yes

Ducky indeed cried in LBT 8. I thought The Big Freeze would be the most obvious one since it's about Spike leaving Ducky who miss her little brother a lot... so some tears are logical :P:
If I'm not mistaken Littlefoot cried when they considered Mo to be dead. Though I think it wasn't on screen... but you could presume he cried due to him calling Mo( sounds like he cries) and the next morning... just look at him... he looked like he cried the whole night if you ask me ;)
This game has been inactive for too long now...
What's Mr. Thicknose's eye-colour?
Greyish-brown...?
Yep! Your turn :)
Since Bruton has not responded in a month, I will go ahead and ask a question.
Which members of the gang would be considered theropods?
That would be Chomber if I'm not mistaking.
^You are half correct. You are missing one more theropod in the gang of seven.
Chomper & Petrie then?
^ Nope, sorry. Chomper is correct as he is a bipedal saurischian (hip-jointed) dinosaur, which are the characteristics that define that clade. Petrie on the other hand isn't a dinosaur, but rather is a pterosaur and thus is ineligible for the Theropoda suborder. There is one other member of the gang of seven, however, that meets the criteria of that suborder.
Chomper and Ruby, I'm guessing?
^Correct!
A character makes something that is now known as a snow angel in one of the movies. Which movie is it? Which character might that be?
That would be Petrie in the eighth film "The Big Freeze". He does it after being knocked out of a tree by a snowball that is thrown by one of the gang.
Correcto! Your turn.
There are only about two or three actual words (depending on how you generously you define 'words') that Spike has spoken in the films. Which words are they and in which films did Spike say them?
LBT 4: "Ducky."
LBT 7: "And green."
LBT 4: "Du...Du....DUCKY!!!"
LBT 8: "Mama!"
^ Yep, yep, yep! Between the both of you, you have gotten all of Spike's 'words' that I know of from the films. However, since both of you have each answered part of the question I am unsure who goes next.
^Actually, check again. In LBT 7, I believe the words "...and green" were spoken by Petrie during the song "Good Inside". So, unless I missed anything, wouldn't my turn be up?
^Actually, check again. In LBT 7, I believe the words "...and green" were spoken by Petrie during the song "Good Inside". So, unless I missed anything, wouldn't my turn be up?
Upon double checking, you are correct. Ducky and I apparently misinterpreted that scene since "green" is stated immediately after the rock is removed from Spike's mouth. It is your turn. :yes
Charles Kimbrough, the actor who played the male rainbowface in LBT 7, had previously starred in another animated film, a Disney film to be precise. Which film was it?
It was the Hunchback of Notre Dame. He was the voice actor that played Victor.
Correct. Your turn.
Rob Paulsen, the voice actor that played Guido in the series (as well as Thud, Rinkus, and Ruby's father) has played in several other animated franchises. Can you name at least three of them?
Um...he's in Timon and Pumbaa as one of the Cheetahs and Banzai (I'm really obsessed with that show, so I know)
...I'm sure I know other ones he's in but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
^ Correct. That is one of the shows that he has worked on. We need just two more shows to be mentioned in order to answer this question.
Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are among Mr. Paulsen's most famous works.
^ Yep, you got it. :yes It is now your turn.
(Guess we'll do one more voice actor question)
Like Rob Paulsen, Jeff Bennett, the somewhat-low-profile voice actor who plays Petrie, among other characters, in the series, has provided voices for many others movies and TV shows. Can you name at least five of them?
Lets see... I remember his voice in Kiki's Delivery Service where he played Kiki's dad, I believe. He also provided the voice for Brooklyn (and Owen, I think?) in the Gargoyles movie. I think that he also provided voices in many of the recent Scoobie Doo films, but I will have to watch my collection in order to confirm my suspicions and to find out which voices he provided.
^ Yep, I had to skim through my DVDs to confirm my memories. He provided the voice of Jasper in "Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire", he was Lester in "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders", and he was Locksley in "Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster".
Those, among many other voices, are among his long list of credits. The guy is indeed very versatile. Your turn.
Here is a rather easy one: In the films, what was the first word that Chomper is shown speaking in the leafeater language?
"...Littlefoot?"
Correct. :yes Your turn.
This one might be pretty tricky unless you look in the credits. On the song "Me and My Dad" from LBT 10, a backing vocal is heard. Who is the person singing it?
Michele Brourman? You are quite correct that I would have had no idea until I looked back in my video collection and checked the credits.
Correct. Brourman was also responsible for writing the music to all of the songs in the sequels (with the exceptions of movies 2 and 4).
Anyways, it's your turn.
It is well known that the writers of the Land before Time placed many species together in the films that never existed together in reality, having existed at far different times in prehistory. With that in mind, which species represented by a member of the gang existed at the earliest time?
To help, here are their respective genera:
Littlefoot: Apatosaurus
Cera: Triceratops
Ducky: Lets say Parasaurolophus for the sake of argument (there is some debate on what her exact species is (http://landbeforetime.wikia.com/wiki/Dispute_over_Ducky%27s_species))
Petrie: Pteranodon
Spike: Stegosaurus
Ruby: Oviraptor
Chomper: Tyrannosaurus
Wouldn't that be Spikiewikie? :/
Correct. :yes Apatosaurus (Littlefoot) and Stegosaurus (Spike) are both estimated to have lived about 150 million years ago. With the inherent uncertainties of dating fossils that old (allowing for a few million years deviation either way) I would have considered either answer (Spike or Littlefoot) correct.
It is now your turn. :)
Oh FUUUUUUUUUUUUU.....
uhm...
There are several Digital Games of LBT. For which medium/console have there been the most?
Well, I personally once had a computer game (too stupid that it doesn't work anymore :bang) so I'm guessing computers?
Yup, yup, yup
Your turn, Ducky :DD
There's an outcut scene after the Gang got food (well 'cept Cera). Who is on the screen and what are they doing?
Hint: The solution can be found in the trailer for the theatrical release :yes
I was thinking of two scenes, but since you made it clear which one you had in mind I'll just say it so we can get the game rolling again. Ducky is kissing Littlefoot and Spike while they all are standing in leaves. Before this Ducky kisses Petrie as well, so it's likely the above scene was cut because some people thought there wa too much smooching . :lol
You're right :) It's your turn now.
There are movies where the Gang desired water, and there are movies where they wanted it gone. In which movie do we find both?
Wouldn't that be the fifth Land Before Time film? They leave the valley due to the food being destroyed and they venture into the desert in order to cause their herds to stay together. When they see the "Big Water" they initially think that it is drinkable, and guzzle it with unsatisfactory results. Later on, when they are stuck on the island, they want the water to go away so that they can reunite with their families once again.
Right. Go ahead.
There is only one named character in the films who is a Supersaurus. Who is this character and in which film does he or she appear?
Sue in LBT 10.
Correct! :yes It is now your turn.
A brother and sister duo were among the cast list throughout the movies, both of whom played completely different characters at completely different times. Who were they?
The McAfee's. Scott voiced Littlefoot and Anndi Cera.
Esta bien. Your turn.
The number of Ducky's siblings changes constantly. How many of them does she have in LBT 5?
It is a bit confusing in the fifth film, because we can see 6 swimmers in the night scene, but only 5 swimmers are readily visible in the daylight scene (after Ducky and the gang leaves.)
So I will guess that she has 6 siblings in the fifth film.
Right :idea Haven't thought of that one... You would've guessed right if you went with '5' as well :)
Your Turn!
Littlefoot, Cera, and Ruby were all originally going to have different names than the ones that they were assigned in the films (or TV series, in the case of Ruby). Can you identify at least 2 of the 3 original names that were dropped during production?
Littlefoot was originally going to be called "Thunderfoot" until producers found out there existed a book featuring a dinosaur with that same name.
"Ovie" was a suggested name for Ruby.
Yep, you got it. :yes During the production of the first film the producers actually considered having a male triceratops named 'Bambo' but, as we all know, this became the female triceratops named 'Cera'. It is now your turn.
(Forgot about that one...plus, it was George Lucas' suggestion.)
Kris Kristofferson, who played Doc in LBT 6, is better known for what fame?
He is better known for being a famous American country music singer. Among his well-known works are "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Help Me Make It Through the Night". He also jointed with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash in forming the country music supergroup "The Highwaymen".
Correcto, because after all, country is the heart and soul of music...at least in my book. Your turn.
Christina Pickles, the voice actor for Elsie in The Land Before Time V, was more famous for her role in which long-running television drama?
St. Elsewhere, playing the nurse Helen Rosenthal
Correct! :yes It is now your turn.
Those games keep getting interrupted for several months because nobody seems to know the answers so here's an easy one :)
What injuries brought Littlefoot's Mother down and where were they located exactly?
Her skin and some muscle was torn from the points near the end of the upper third of the neck and in the middle of the back. The injuries themselves couldn't have caused much blood loss, so it is infection that did her in.
Yep, yep, yep! :) Your turn!
In which movies do lambeosaurs appear?
Heck, how stupid are we!!!!!
Ozzy and Strut of course!
The eggeaters do have a guest appearance in LBT 4, or at least their kind does!
Really, NewOrder, we were very slow indeed!
I had been going to say Domehead. I know they are in 1 and 4 and are omnivores. I don't see Egg Stealers in film III though.
How many omnivore kinds have appeared in all of LBT? (Note, Chomper doesn't count, even if he does eat hard water sweets in "Through the Eyes of a Spiketail". :lol )
Well we have Ruby, possibly Ozzy and Strut
Ruby's family...... So Struthomious and Ovirator
Basically 2
What is the orange brown sharptooth's fan name from lbt x?
What is the orange brown sharptooth's fan name from lbt x?
I don't think that's a question you can ask. I'm pretty sure you can only ask canon-related stuff. Asking about fan-related stuff, like the fan name of the orange LBT 10 sharptooth, doesn't seem to fit in very well.
Does it have a fan name?
Also, the Therizinosauridae from LBT XIII count as omnivores, eventhough they were mostly herbivores, they could eat meat if they needed to.
Key words here, this one can be a bit tricky to those who don't know how to answer this one correctly.
What was the first Dinosaur to appear in the franchise as a whole to be depicted as covered in feathers?
What was the first Dinosaur to appear in the franchise as a whole to be depicted as covered in feathers?
*redirected there by Ducky*
(lol, last post was made 1 year ago...)
With featers? hmm...
I don't remember someone appeared in films before Guido...
BUT! I read LBT Wiki, and I remember there were female red bird character that appeared in some lbt book. Named Arie, or something like that, I don't remember.
---------
and here's two questions:
Do you remember how many times did Littlefoot have such face emotions:
1) (http://caps.pictures/199/7-land-before-time5/full/land-before-time5-disneyscreencaps.com-5897.jpg)
2) (reaction only towards Cera)
I could take a wild guess but I don't know for certain. Have you counted that, Snik?
just write movies and scenes you remember where these scenes happened. :)
Umm, I'm sorry but I still not understand the question. Are you asking us to guess where these scenes are from or how many times the characters had these kind of expressions (which is impossible to tell as the entire specification is rather obscure)?
how many times the characters had these kind of expressions
and of course it's possible... Or I wouldn't ask this question
Should this game be revived? :lol
Trivia Question
Which Land Before Time movie features the most Sharpteeth in the full running time of the film (not in one scene, but in total)?
Is it XIII ? There’s like a stampede of fastbiters at one point in addition to the 3 baryonyx :lol
