"This is Commander Nathan Haverson, requesting assistance! A massive Covenant Remenent fleet has appeared from subspace. They have started attacking New Reach. Any UNSC or Sangheili forces who hear this message, please respond! I will play this message in a continuous loop until help arrives. This is Commander Nathan Haverson, out!"
This message was recieved by a small Sangheili/UNSC patrol. New Reach is not only a vital military base, but is also a settlement for both Sangheili and Humans alike. This message was also recieved:
"Foolish humans, you dare to believe you had defeated us? We will burn your world until all that remains is ash and glass! Nor will you escape the storm, dammed Sangheili. Your blood will be spilt on the ground at our victory!"
This is believed to be from the leader of the Remenent Fleet. As you understand, we cannot allow New Reach to fall to the Covenant. Now, let's go kill us some ugly Gorillas.

Appearance: Anno 'Rhcul stands at almost 8'6. He wears an older model of the SpecOps Combat harness, with a black coloration instead of a dark purple. Anno 'Rhcul has an average structure, no abnormal scars or bruises.
Personality: Anno 'Rhcul is sarcastic, and tends to care more about his team mates then the Covenant religious beliefs. He also respects the human's abilities.
Brief History: Anno' Rhcul is a SpecOps Elite known best for his acts in the Battle of Olympus, and the Battle of the Unseen Path. He is sarcastic, and tends to care more about his team mates then the Covenant religious beliefs. He also respects the human's abilities. Anno 'Rhcul was born into a family in the middle of Sangheili hierchy, so he joined the Covenant military at the Major Domo rank, instead of the Minor Domo.
The first battle he was deployed in was the Battle of Hades III, where he destroyed a Pelican DropShip by sticking a Plasma Grenade into the passenger area. When the grenade detonated, it destroyed the human ship and sent the wreckage crashing to the ground. Although the Covenant was forced to retreat in that battle, Anno was premoted to a SpecOps Minor.In SpecOps, Anno 'Rhculee contributed to several victories, the most notable of which was the Battle of Olympus, where he killed a large contingent of humans, before being incapcitated by a blow to his stomach. He awoke above the planet, which had been glassed, in a large Covenant cruiser known as The Dedicated Seer. It was here where he met the Sangheili that saved his life, Vera 'Zenoree, a female SpecOps Elite. He thanked her, and the two formed a lasting friendship.Anno 'Rhculee was premoted to second-in-command of his team, under Commander Kel 'Durzoree. But there would be no rest for the Sangheili, as soon, his team was dispatched to a planet known to the Covenent as "The Unseen Path". Here, for the short time 'Rhculee and Vera 'Zenoree were aboard the Dedicated Seer, they had to endure the insults of the Zealot Orzo 'Kulsomee. But soon, they were ordered to board a Phantom dropship and descend to the planet's surface. Unfortunatly, there was a critical malfunction, and the ship crashed. 'Rhculee, 'Zenoree, 'Durzoree, and most of the others survived. However, they landed in a deep gorge, where they encountered the Flood. Only the quick actions of another member of his team saved them from infection, and temporarily stopped the Flood. However, 'Durzoree was consumed. After climbing out of the gorge, 'Rhculee and his team called for an evac Phantom, and they blasted off the the main installation. However, when the arrived, the Minor Prophet of Despair accused them of cowardice, and threatened to report them for heresy. Afterwards, he put them under the direct command of chauvansitic Zealot Orzo 'Kulsomee. After many more battles, including the one in which he rejected the Covenant.

Appearance: Though shorter then her male counterparts, Vera 'Zenor still towers over her human allies at a height of 8'0. She is slimmer, and like human females, less muscular then the male Sangheili. Vera 'Zenor has the feminene, hourglass shape, but is still strong, able to send a man several feet with a punch.
Personality: Vera 'Zenor is an outspoken female SpecOps Elite. She was often talked down to by her superiors, but this began to change when the Sangheili split from the Covenant. She sometimes takes up the Sniper Position, but she prefers direct combat.
Brief History: Vera 'Zenor is an outspoken female SpecOps Elite. She participated in several important battles, such as the Battle of Olympus and The Battle of the Unseen Path. She was often talked down to by her superiors, but this began to change when the Sangheili split from the Covenant. She sometimes takes up the Sniper Position, but she prefers direct combat. Vera 'Zenor had the fortune of being born into a family who was accepting of her. However, this left her ill-prepared for Covenant military life. When she was finally accepted into the Covenant military(as a Minor Domo), she was forced to endure constant insults from her superiors. This tore her apart inside, but it also made her work hard to prove her superiors wrong. Soon promoted to a Major Domo, Vera 'Zenoree now had command over several of the Sangheili who had insulted her. But rather then take vengeance, she gave them no punishments, to prove she was better then them. At the Battle of Hades III, most of her squad was killed, but she managed to kill numerous humans. This promoted her to a SpecOps Minor. When deployed at Olympus, she and her new team were ambushed by a pair of Spartan IIs. Due to the element of suprise, most of the team was killed, save 'Zenoree herself. She killed one Spartan, but was forced to flee from the other. On the way back, 'Zenoree rescued another SpecOps Elite named Anno 'Rhculee. After they were both safly back on the Dedicated Seer and the planet was glassed, 'Zenoree introduced herself to 'Rhculee, and they formed a lasting friendship. she became involved in the Battle of the Unseen Path, and soon rejected the Covenant beliefs.

Appearance: Standing at 8' 6 like most male Sangheili Uulecc happens to wear the current pinnacle of Sangheili armor. He wears the golden armor of a Zealot commander.
Personality: He is a stoic and serious commander...making sure to watch over those under his command. But every once in a great while he'll pull a prank or two...
Brief History: He was in command of his ship the Luminous Voyage and was present during the Fleet Commanders of Particular Justice's trial. When the Covenant Civil War began... he lead a small fleet of ships into battle against the Brutes, and after receiving a coded retreat message he jumped to the Sangheili planet of Joyous Exultation. Then it was destroyed when the very first NOVA bomb was detonated and cracked the planets surface. Shortly after that Uulecc lead a retaliation on the Brute commanders who had been coming under false pretenses of peace. And is now awaiting further orders.

IC: Anno 'Rhcul:
I stood in the Hanger bay. We were nearly there. We were nearly at the planet known as New Reach, named after a planet that we had glassed when we were held under the Prophet's veil of lies. It was here where both humans and Sangheili dwelled. There were, of course, some quarrels, mostly involving conflicts in cultures, but it was one of the first worlds where both Sangheili and Humans coexsit. And now, it was under attack. The Covenant Remenent, comprised mainly of Grunts, Brutes, and Drones, had attacked the planet. But we weren't going to let them destroy it. The fleet, a mixture of Sangheili and Human ships, was now en route to the planet. I leaned against a Phantom, with my close friend Vera 'Zenor, a female SpecOps operative. "So, once again we are sent against the Brutes." I said with a sigh. "We will force them away. We have to." Said Vera. I nodded in asset. "I hope so, I hope so."

As my ship the Luminous Voyage was en route to New Reach as well, to aid in the battle. My blood boiled at the thought of losing another world to those filthy, primitive beasts! I stood from my command chair and called out across the ship wide com. system "Prepare for glorious battle, and show these beasts the true meaning of Honor!" Those in the bridge and throughout the ship roared in approval.
I knew of two other Sangheili were on their way as well...and I was looking too meeting them again in battle...their names were Anno 'Rhculee and Vera 'Zenoree. They were the best Spec. Ops Sangheili I had ever seen. And their presences would mean certain victory for all of us!

The ships exited subspace near one of New Reach's moons. I could feel the ship lurch as it came to a sudden hault, making my insides flip upside down. The one problem with pinpoint slipspace jumps was their tendancy to make you sick. I had gotten used to it over the years. Vera looked out to vastness of space. Her four mandibles were hanging slightly agape. "How did the Remenent manage to compile such a large fleet?" It was indeed emourmous. Most of the ships were busy fighting off the remainder of the fleet that had been stationed to protect New Reach, and had not noticed our arrival. At the moment, we were to make an opening in the Remenent Fleet, and then send down several thousand Phantoms and Pelicans loaded with both Sangheili and Human soilders to fight on the ground, while our fleet attempted to destroy the Remenent. I was quite sure that this would work. I called "SpecOps team Divine Blade, assemble for briefing!" Vera 'Zenoree walked over and stood next to me, as a group of Sangheili and Unggoy ran over.
OOC: The Unggoy are the species from Halo 1 & 2, the Remenent Grunts will be the Red-eyed ones.

I couldn't believe these fools had amassed such a large fleet of ships...it wasn't possible! But I was seeing it for myself...it was possible. "All warriors prepare for immediate departure!" I said bringing my sword to bear. I then turned to a pair of Hunters and said "You two will follow me, we are to rendezvous with Vera and Anno, then from there we will break the foul Brutes ships from the inside out! Now to the Phantoms!"
Normally I would've let another Sangheili pilot the Phantom, but today I was at the helm and quickly landed in the hangar bay where Vera and Anno were assembling their troops. The two Hunters and myself stepped out as I called "What is the battle plan and our current position?"

"It is alway good to see you, Shipmaster." I said, nodding my head when Uulecc 'Uunam stepped into veiw. Well, it appears that we have an excellent postion to intiate combat. The Remenent have yet to realize we are here. As for the plan, Shipmaster, the plan is to blast a path through the Remenent fleet, and fly our dropships through before they can recover. After that, our troops will rendvouzs(sp) with the remainder of the New Reach military, at base Alpha, where we will plan further defensive movements." I said. Vera added "We hope to pick up any civilian survivers on the way, and deliver them safely to the base." I smiled, curling my mandibles up. "If all goes well, Shipmaster, the apes will be driven from the system with enourmous losses."

I nodded indicating that this idea was likely to work for us and replied "Alight then...I'll stay aboard my ship and coordinate the space battle while the rest of you take care of the forces groundside." However should those vile creatures actually succeed then you will have a much harder mission." I clicked my mandibles together and said "But we are Sangheili...we shall not fail!"
I then turned to the Hunter pair and said "You two are to protcet these two with your lives...understood?" The Hunters gave a subsonic growl and walked over to Anno and Vera as I stepped aboard my Phantom and said into my com. "Good hunting!" As the phantom streaked back towards my ship I wondered how much longer before the Covenant Remnant was destroyed....

Vera 'Zenor:
Anno and I watched as the Shipmaster's Phantom blasted out of the hanger, leaving the Lekgolo with us and our SpecOps team. The ship began to move forward, the order to engage having been transmited to each ship in the fleet. Seraphs and Longswords poured from the Hangers. Me and the others had to duck as the fighters left the hanger. We moved to the side of the hanger and watched the ships prepar for combat.

As my Phantom landed in my ships hangar bay I felt the ship accelerate into the moons orbit and knew what I had to do....I activated my personal com. unit and told my bridge crew "FIRE AT WILL! But check your fire!" As I ran to the bridge to resume command I felt my ship shake and shudder....I didn't want to know what that was but I didn't have much of a choice as an engineer grunt came running up to me.
"Sir....we lose engine...we no move! Please no hurt me!" I smiled at the little alien and said "Do not worry...you have done well now begin repairs immediately...and can we still fire our weapons?" The grunt looked up and answered "Yes excellency!"

I looked back out the hanger bay. "Anno, look!" I shouted. A Brute ship was breaking in half, boiling as Plasma destroyed its hull. Seraphs and Longswords were dogfighting through the various capital ships. Slowly, we were making our way through the Remnant Fleet. Anno grinned, curling his mandibles up. "Soon, we'll be able to go down planetside." He said. Several extremely specialized Human ships, which we had upgraded with our own slipspace drives, had just collectivly taken down a Remnant Cruiser.

I reached the bridge of my ship, and sat in my chair and as I gave the command to fire once again the ship lurched forward and I felt us moving once again....I was going to find out that little grunt's name and congratulate him....he did a fine job today, and my ship was able to rejoin the battle.
I laughed as my cruiser blew a hole right through the middle of a Remnant battleship and I smiled as the explosion took two more ships out of commission with it....and I broadcast on an open Sangheili frequency...
"All dropships through the breach....NOW!!!! Show them what it means to really fight back!" Then on a personal com. frequency I said "Good luck you two watch each others backs..."

"Board the Phantom at once!" In an instant, the Unggoy and Sangheili ran to board the Phantom. As we boarded, I heard Anno reply on the personal com "You too, old friend." I grinned. We stood in the Phantom's hold, Anno 'Rhcul at the front. "Weapons check?"
"All Weapons fully charged."
"Shields?"
"All shields fully operational."
"Unggoy, all Methane rebreathers correctly afixed?"
"We make extra-double sure!"
"Let's move out."
The Phantom rose from the floor, and blasted out of the hanger. Despite a path being cleared, there was still chaos all around. Mixed masses of Phantoms and Pelicans shot through space, down towards the planet and through derbries. I noticed a sad sight: One of our ships, burning apart. But now was not the time to mourn. We still had to make it planetside.

As I watched on the view screen the Phantoms and Pelicans race towards the planet I began to wonder if there wasn't something more to this attack....something just didn't sit right in my gut. We Sangheili were always taught to follow our instincts and something just wasn't right. For a moment I was deciding wether or not to call off the attack, but then a cry for help came through the com. system.
At that moment I made a decision..."All Sangheili ships form a defensive perimeter around the remains of the fleet and continue to burn these beast to the San 'Shyuum's colon!"

Anno 'Rhcul:
The dropships began to break into the atmosphere. As we descended through the clouds, I heard something over the com. "*Kssssshhrt* They hav*Zzzzzzrt* gun emplacements. I repeat, A-A*vvvvvzt*ments. We need to-aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!*kssht*" My eyes widened. "Pilot!" I yelled. The Pilot replied "I heard, I'm taking the Phantom into evasive manuevers." A blast of green plasma sailed past as the Phantom swerved. We were getting close to the planet, now. We would make planetfall in only a few minutes. Blast of green plasma continued to sail by, as both Phantoms and Pelicans evaded the A-A fire.

As I turned my attention to the several remaining Remnant ships... I could see the remains of the AA fire coming form the planet below and my immediate reaction was the only option I could think of....
"We're going to provide cover! Prepare for an in-atmosphere jump!" "Yes, excellency!" cried a grunt. My ship disappeared for a few seconds and immediately we were within the atmosphere of New Reach. "Begin cover fire for our dropships at ONCE!"

I noticed the ships jump in orbit, and grinned. Vera grinned aswell. A-A fire was still zooming past. The Phantom began to curve upwards, preparing to drop us off. As soon as the Phantom came to a hault, we lept out. I simultaneously ignited my Plasma Sword. A few of the Unggoy tripped, but were soon back on their feet. Vera swung a Needler forward. The Phantom turned skywards. "I'll stand by to pick you up if you neeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" A-A fire tore the Phantom apart. Me, Vera, and the rest of the team ducked as debries flew over our heads, and the Hunters stood intfront of us and swung their shields up to block the detritus. I stood straight, and sighed. "Dammed flith." I growled. As if on que, several Krig-Unggoy, bearing their characteristic red eyes, appeared. A Brute Minor occumpained them. I swung my blade up, and they charged.
OOC: The Krig suffix means "dark" in Sangheilian.

I smiled and almost laughed as I saw the group of Remnant forces and I said "Everyone on our side stand back...FIRE MAIN PLASMA BATTERY AND BURN THEM TO THE GROUND!!!!" Those under my command followed their orders and the ship opened fired into the ground glassing a small portion of the ground in front of Anno and Vera.
I then said "You can proceed now."

I blinked in suprise, and then grinned. "Quiet a fitting end, for those who intended to burn this planet." Vera said. I nodded, and we proceeded forward. Another Brute Minor appeared. This time, I wasted no time in leaping at him. He tried to aim a punch at my head, but I crouched low, and then slashed off a layer of his armor. This enraged him, but a Needle from Vera's Needler struck his flesh, and was followed by six others. They exploded, killing the Brute. Promptly after that, I beheaded a Krig-Unggoy, as the rest of my team engaged the enemy.

Thinking quickly I said "Send a Phantom to aid them, then continue to draw the AA fire...to provide protection for our forces." "Sir we get message from space...they sending baddies bye bye." I looked over to the little grunt and smiled once more as I replied "Very good...now send our banshees to engage the aerial forces in the sky!" "Yes sir."

I looked up, and watched as Banshees started to zoom over head. This nearly caused my death. A Brute Chieften swung its Gravity Hammer at me. I only narrowly blocked it with my Plasma Sword. It lifted its Gravity Hammer and swung again. I ducked, and knocked a peice of armour from its body. It roared, and swung again. I slipped around it, and drove the Plasma Sword through its back. It fell dead, and the Krig-Unggoy started to panic. But the other Brutes were still there, now occumpanied by several Kig-Yar. The Hunters were beating anything that attacked to a pulp, and Vera was making use of her feminine form, nimbling dodging plasma and peppering the Brutes with needles.

I was getting nervous that feeling I had simply hadn't gone away...and it was only getting worse. Something bad was going to happen and soon. I would either be prepared or I wouldn't....either way I was going to fight to the very last! I rose from my seat and said "Send several pair of hunters to the hangar...I'll meet them there and prepare to take off!"

Vera 'Zenor:
I knocked a Kig-Yar to the ground, then forced my body into its shield. Its body was crushed under its own defense. As another Krig-Unggoy dove for me, I took advantage of my smaller female body and dodged it. Then, I smacked it across the face with my Needler, and its rebreather came off. It gasped for air, and then died. To my suprise, our Unggoy were quiet effeciant, several of them now taking down a Brute Minor. I loaded another Krig-Unggoy with needles, and it exploded. I only just noticed that my shields were delpleted, when the needle sunk into my side. Luckily, it was a glancing blow, and did not go deep. I winced in pain, but pulled it out before it could explode.

Just as my Phantom left the hangar almost immediately our dropship was disabled by a wraith mortar and we dropped like a rock out of the sky. As the phantom crashed into the ground I smiled as I heard a Brute Chieftain scream in pain and anguish...it was rather funny. I then activated my plasma sword and shouted "CHARGE!" and me with the seven hunter pairs behind me ran forward into the fight!

There was a lull in fighting, as most of the Remnant in the immediate area had been killed. Anno walked over to me, and noticed I was bleeding. "Vera! Are you alright?" He ran over to my to look at the wound, which was on the upper part of my right hip. It had torn a hole in my bodysuit, and stabbed almost to the bone, which was still not as deep as the needles could go. "I'm fine, it was just a needle." Anno wrapped his arms around my waist. "If you say so, but that's what you said when you were hit by a fuel rod." Anno said. I smiled. Anno pulled away when he noticed another wave of Remnant approaching. I swung my Needler to the ready.

Just as the second wave came into view Uulecc jumped over Anno and Vera with my sword and stabbed the lead Brute in the chest and as he feel I picked up his Brute spiker and fired it at several Krig-Unggoy and they feel quickly to the red hot nails that flew from my gun.

Anno lept forward, swinging his Plasma Sword at the second wave of Remnant. I reloaded my Needler, then charged forward. I shot a wave of needles at a Krig-Unggoy, which converged on its head. They exploded moments later, obliterating the small alien's skull. Our own Unggoy charged ahead, shooting down the Krig-Unggoy. I smacked a half-armoured Brute with my Needler, and then dodged a punch from it. I love having a slim, female figure, it makes it so easy to dodge.

This Brute Chieftain took one swing at me and I just stood there and let my shield take the force of the blow before I pointed the Brute spiker at his head and fired every single round into his head...making him look like a light show.

I worked my way to the Brute's back, then stuck a Plasma Grenade to it. With a roar, the Brute flailed around. I got to safe distance, and the grenade exploded, engulfing the Brute in cyan flames. The Remnant forces had succeded in slaying one Hunter, only to be ripped apart by its brother. Several Unggoy lay dead. Suddenly, a Krig-Unggoy fell dead, a Sniper round in its head. A group of human marines appeared over a nearby hill. A rocket blasted through the air and scattered Remnant forces, both living and dead, everywhere.

"YES! Now show these fools the error of their ways!" I shouted as the marines came charging over the hill into the battle "Now Hunters get ready to fire on my command...FIRE!" And all seven pair of Hunters fired their fuel rod cannons at eh advancing Remnant horde.

Anno 'Rhcul:
The Remnant's approaching hoard halted as those at the front were torn apart by the blasts of green plasma. The Remnant, making their first wise decision of the day, began to withdraw. "Run, ya bastards!" Shouted one Human. I grinned at this, and added my own taunt. "Wort wort wort!" The humans didn't seem to understand what it meant, but Vera laughed. "They'll be back." Said one human, this on with grey hair. "But those sons of a **** don't expect a Spartan." As if on que, a human encased in green armor with an orange visor stepped forward. "Spartan Chris-087 reporting for duty. Looks like a tornado hit this place." He said. The grey-haired human called to us "Right. With Chris-087's aid, we'll make our way to Alpha base. That is unless your Shipmaster," He pointed to us. "Has other plans."

"So a Demon still exsist...well this changes a few things." I then turned to to Anno and Vera and replied "I'm out of ideas...what do you two think should be done?"

"Well... heading over to Alpha base sounds like tha best plan right now." I said. Vera added "Plus, we'll be able to pick up any survivors along the way." The grey-haired human nodded. "Right, let's move out. Scattered, but tight formations. Keep your eyes out for survivors." After a few minutes of travel, we found our first survivors. An elderly human male, a young Sangheili female(About Vera's age, which is like 23), a young Sangheili male(like 25, Anno's age), and two young humans, one male, and one female.

As we walked towards Alpha base I began to think about that feeling I had...it hadn't gone away...not fully but it wasn't as strong as before....'perhaps it's just battle fatigue.' I thought to myself...but as I looked up at my carrier Luminous Voyage my thoughts once more turned to that foreboding feeling...and finally out of desperation...I decided to ask the others for their input.
"Do any of you feel this dark uneasy feeling like something bad is going to happen?"

I looked at the shipmaster. "Well... there was a sort of dark feeling ever since I got into the Phantom that took us down here, but I've tried to ignore it." I said. Vera nodded. "I've felt it too." She said. I sighed. "What could this feeling of foreboding mean? This planet is one of our largest strongholds. Why should we feel a darkness here?" Suddenly, a beam of purple energy streaked past my face. It hit the ground, an sizzled. Vera shouted "Snipers!" And the grey-haired human shouted "Find cover!" However, the Spartan did not take cover. He swung his sniper rifle of his back, and took aim at a nearby ridge. He fired, and the was a pained squawk from the ridge.

"Nice shot Spartan." I said with a smile and the word Spartan was defiantly going to take some getting used after calling them demons for so long. But I turned on my active camouflage and ran ahead and used the brute spiker to bring down two more snipers. Just as I was sure they were done I took a direct shot in my arm and i roared in pain.

The final sniper screamed as Chris-087 put a bullet in its head. It rolled down the ridge, its gun sliding along with it. I sighed, and put away my Plasma sword. I walked over to the shipmaster, helped him up, and said "Are you alright?" The grey-haired human yelled "Let's keep moving, watch for survivors and snipers."

As Anno pulled me up I nodded to him and said "Thanks. I'm fine." I looked over as the gray haired human shouted his response and I replied "Yes that would be a wise decision for all of us....lets continue!"

Only a few more survivors were found. This wasn't good. If there were so few survivors, then the Remnant may have destroyed most of the cities. I grimaced at this thought, as we trekked onwards. Vera walked beside me. No more Remnant forces had been encountered... yet. We were close to Alpha base, where we would formulate the next phase of the plan. Vera looked up at the sky, and noticed that a mixed patrol of Banshees and Hornets had appeared over us, covering the skies. This made the both of us feel more secure. In the distance, we could see Alpha base.

I ran ahead to scout the horizon of Alpha base only to make a unique discovery...my ship had taken a holding position over the base and had a gravity beam in place to move troops and supplies down to the surface. I smiled and told the others..."We've arrived, and we have help waiting for us...let's move on!"

The we made our way closer to the base. It was large, and gunmetal grey. There were a few towers around it. The Gravity Beam was just outside of the building, and another team of Sangheili and Unggoy were just now being set down. One of the Unggoy on our team looked estatic at this moment, and ran over to another, yelling "Zayzab!" The Unggoy seemed to know eachother. I looked back to the building. There wer multiple differant types of defenses. There were plasma Turrets, bullet-firing turrets, several of our own Wraiths, painted green, and the Human Scorpion tanks. There were several Phantoms and Pelicans nearby. Vera walked up to one of the doors, and I followed close behind.

I followed Anno and Vera into the base followed by the humans and survivors we'd found and I suddenly turned to the gray haired human and asked "Do you have any food around here...my battle wound is making me hungry?"

"'Fraid is nothing to good, but it'll do. It's over there." The grey-haired human said. "My name is Sergent Allen Cale." He extended his hand to shake. The Spartan was helping some of the wounded survivors to the medical ward. One wounded human Soilder, who had carried an injured Sangheili child all the way to the base, was leaning against the wall and clutching his arm. Vera and I helped him to the Medical ward. I said "Thank you." As we helped him limp to the med lab.

I nodded to the sergeant and said "Thank you." I then turned to Anno and Vera and said "I will meet up with you two later...oh and if you happen to see a Unggoy called Zazay send him to me please...I need to speak with him."

"It shall be done, shipmaster." I said. We finished helping the wounded human to the medical ward, then we headed towards the Unggoy, who were happily conversing about how many enemies they had managed to kill. "Which one of you is named Zazay?" Called Vera. I added "The Shipmaster wishes to speak to you!" One of the Unggoy turned. "That me." He waddled over to us. "What his excellancy want?" Vera and I curled our mandibles into grins and said "We do not know, but he is waiting for you there." I pointed in the shipmaster's direction, and Zazay waddled off to him.

The little Unggoy waddled up to me just as I finshed the chicken and ham sandwich the cheif had made for me, and I smiled as the sandwich which I had second thoughts about was actually quite good. It was then that I noticed Zazay standing before me. I stood to my full height and he started to tremble...then I smiled again as I kneeled in front of him, and said
"It's alright I wanted to thank you for the superb job you and your comrades did onboard our ship today...as such, you will personally be transfered to my division...welcome Unggoy captin Zazay!" Then the little grunt fainted wether it was from surprise or my breath was unknown, but I smiled regardless and picked him up and headed back outside to join the others.

I to look at the shipmaster, who was carrying an unconsious Zazay. "He could not take the news you gave him?" I mused, curling my mandibles into a grin. Vera grinned as well, and added "You may want to take him to the infirmry, so when he wakes up, he'll be on a bed, just incase he faints again."

I nodded but then decided against it as the little Unggoy was starting to come to. I set him down and he blinked and looked around and sighed...he then looked up to me and said "Me proud to join mighty Elite. Me get friends!" And with that he waddled off to rejoin his comrades and give them the news as well. I parted my mandibles in a grin as I replied "I think he likes it!"

"Indeed." I said, watching the the little Unggoy waddle over to his friends. Then, a human voice echoed through the base. "A large group of Remnant Phantoms has been seen heading for the base. All Squadrons 1 through 44, prepare for deployment!" The voice paused for a second, then added "We have also sighted a large grouping of Remnant vehicles, mostly Brute Choppers. Prepare the Scarab for battle." At those last words, my eyes widened in shock. "They have a Scarab?!" I exclaimed. "When did they get a Scarab?!" Vera added, equally shocked.

"Yeah...that was my doing...I stole one and managed to keep it intact btw...would either of you like to pilot the Scarab?" I asked knowing it was every Sangheili's dream. "Well...I'll be firing the secondary cannon." Just at that moment a green Scarab came stomping over the hill and held position directly in front of the base. "Well...all aboard."

The Scarab lowered, allowing the back deck to be boarded. I ran towards, it, and Vera followed. We climbed aboard, and ran up to the top deck. The pilot was also the power core, the mass of Lekgolo eels under the main deck. From the top, I could see the distant Remnant forces. "Anno, look!" Vera shouted. She pointed towards the approaching army, and I swung my head to look back at it. There was a massive purple shap, which could have only been one thing. The Remnant had their own Scarab.

Although the presence of this second Scarab was a surprise I wasn't worried as I actually smiled and opened a com. link to my ship and said "Begin the orbital bombardment on my command!" I simply continued to smile as I thought of the death that was about to ensue...oh the glory we would gain!

As the Remnant charged forward, I noticed something odd. "Shipmaster! There's something wrong!" I yelled. I pointed to the group, and indeed, there was something off. The swarming Remnant and their Scarab... was it just me, or was one of the vehicles being given an unusualy large escort? Then I noticed it. Vera did too. "They've strapped a bomb to one of their choppers! They're going to ram the base with it!" I shouted. Vera added "I recongnize that bomb! If it goes off here, all that'll be left of those Remnant and our base will be a smoking crater!" I stared back at the choppers, and at the Scarab. "No wonder the group was so small, yet still had the Scarab! It's a suicide attack! Call off the bombardment!"

Axl strode through the halls, waiting for new orders, as he had completed his current mission, and as he moved, a static burst indicated a transmission. He was to support a new group who he was to meet in the base...

At the sound of the word Bomb...I immediately looked at the screen and saw Vera was right! The next few seconds were a slow motion blur...I yelled into the com. link "BELAY THE BOMBARDMENT DO IT NOW!" However as I screamed those very same words I was already running up the foward ramp of our scarab, igniting my plasma sword, and I jumped from the nose of the Scarab and landed in a roll. I then charged the oncoming Remnant forces, knowing I was either going to disarm that bomb, or set it off outside our base....either way I was going to die...this much I knew for certain.

Our Scarab powered up its main cannon, and blasted a Brute Chopper, this one distant enough from the bomb that it would be safe. The Brute astride it was torn apart, and smashed the Chopper in half. The Remnant Scarab charged its own cannon, and shot it at our Scarab. It smashed into one of the upper parts of a limb, and the entire tank shook. A few Unggoy tumbled towards the edge, and Vera slipped. She started falling towards the edge! I reached out, grabbed her hand, and pulled her back up. Vera panted heavily, sighed, and said "Thanks." I smiled. Most of the Unggoy had managed to recover before falling off, luckily. The turret was now being manned by the Spartan, who blasted the plasma at the Remnant Scarab's own turret. A few bits of metal scattered from it, but no major damage was inflicted. Our Scarab charged its main cannon again, and blasted at the enemy Scarab. If we could take that thing out, disarming the bomb would be alot easier. Several Brute scouts, with jetpacks, jumped up towards the Scarab. I ignited my Plasma sword in one hand, and pulled my Plasma Rifle out with the other. Vera snatched her Needler from her hip.

I saw our Scarab blast one of the brute choppers into the ground and almost laughed, it was a great sight...but I was brought back to the fight at hand as I jumped over the front of one chopper, and kicked the driver out. I then stabbed another driver as he passed by and roundhouse kicked another. I could see the chopper with the bomb attached and I ran for it...having only moments to get to it as well.

Vera:
I fired a volley of needles. Each one hit its mark, piercing the Brute's armor, but not hitting its flesh. That changed, however, when the Needles exploded and took the Brute with them. Anno lept, just as a Brute landed on the Scarab's deck. He landed on it, and drove his Plasma Sword into its jump pack. The Brute grabbed him by the arm and threw him off, but he recovered, and grinned as the ape was sent flying into the air by the jump pack, which was one fire. I used my thin, female body to slip through blasts of Plasma and spikes, and fired more needles.

I reached the brute chopper with the bomb just as two more were coming to ram me to death, and I held on and swung at the suicide driver with my sword killing him and allowing me control of his vehicle, and it was only then that I realized I also had control over the timer for the bomb!
"this just got better!' I thought with a grin, I then whipped the bike around and setting the boost function on continuous burst I also set the timer for 45 seconds, at which point it would take out the whole Remnant force. I then jumped from the bike and ran in the opposite direction as fast as I could.....and just as the chopper sped under the Remnant Scarab the bomb exploded!

A pillar of flames burst up from the Chopper. It engulfed the Scarab, almost all the Choppers, and several Phantoms. The other Phantoms and Choppers were damaged severly. Some of the Choppers tried to flee, but fell apart as they tried to boost. The Phantoms were better off, and kept coming. I smiled, and Anno did too. I said "Now we only have those Phantoms to deal with." The Scarab powered up its main cannon, and fired on one of the Phantoms.

I wasn't physicaly hurt, but all that action had worn me out...and for the moment I was out of the danger zone, and with the last moment I prayed for the safty of Vera and Anno as I slipped into unconssiousness...

The Phantom literally shattered as the beam of Plasma struck it. It fell in the form of burning shards. The other Phantoms began to peel off, and fled. "The Remnant is fleeing!" Anno shouted, disengaging his plasma sword. I grinned. "We have driven them into a retreat.. for now." Said Sergent Allen Cale. "But they will be back, so we'll need to move our base as soon as possible. Let's gather up our wounded." The Scarab lowered, to allow us to get off.

I could hear the sound of something exploding and then silence for a long while, and suddenly I could hear Unggoy...it was Zazay and his fellows...but what were they doing here?
"We get shipmaster to safe place." called Zazay to the others "Yes, we help him fast!" said another Unggoy as he picked up my left leg and the others lifted my limbs above them and carried me back to Vera and Anno.

I looked over. "Anno! Zazay and his squad have found the Shipmaster!" I said. Anno walked over. "Good job, Major Zazay. You have earned a rest after this fight. Vera 'Zenoree and I shall take him the rest of the way." He said. Happy that they had helped, the little Grunts gentaly laid the Shipmaster down. I leaned down, as did Anno, and we both hoisted him onto our shoulders. I hoped he was alright, and I could tell Anno was worried as well.

It was hard to hear what was going on...but I knew I was alive...which meant that I had succeeded and survived! I moaned as I was set down...or picked up...I couldn't tell...but I knew they were Sangheili warriors and that I would be safe...and I responded by saying "Thank you."

Axl stirred, then sat up, rubbing his head. He had heard the sounds of combat, and had run in that direction, but a stray explosion had dislodged a cieling beam, causing it to land on his head, knocking him out...
"Ow..." He said quietly, then stood up and walked out of the base to see Vera, Anno, and Ulecc...

"Mortumado!" I called. The mechanized Sangheili was rubbing his head, apparently having been knocked unconsious. "We need to gether our wounded, the base will be attacked by a larger force soon!"

I awakened to see Anno and Vera calling over Axel and almost immediately I could tell he had been wounded as well...but not as severly as I had...

Axl twisted, stood up, and nodded. He looked at Anno, and agreed...
"Right. Let's get the wounded out of here..."
Then staggered...
