Role Play Discussion / Re: A sudden change of species 2.0?

blows dust off this RP discussion thread

O-o-ooh, bo-o-oy. It's been quite awhile, has it? Mo-o-o hopes everyone here that has participated in this RP has been doing well over the past few years. :rainbowwave

Basically, I wouldn't mind jumping in and getting the gears of this RP spinning again. Though if I have to guess, it's probably not gonna happen due to many members here who are no longer active on the forum (guilty as charged for me until last month in April) and/or too busy with life matters. And if this RP stays dead for the foreseeable future, I totally understand and can accept that. (Though, at least it's probably never to-o-o late to revive it again!) :P

I can do my next post even without Volant, correct?

I'm still wondering about this, by the way. And ironically, I would've been still at least semi-active on the forum during the past few years if this RP kept going.

But regardless, I'm quite grateful and happy to have RPed along side y'all, bonding that way and growing more experienced and more used to being apart of a literate RP, contributing my part and getting to know the characters that I RP better.

And as a short, non-shameful plug for @TenderlyLiz, hopefully her RP Land Before Time: Exodus springs off the ground sometime in the future. It is planned to be a literate, multi-paragraph type of RP just like this one is, and the premise is quite simple, but interesting.

Hello everyone, :PteranoPlotting I've come to you in my hour of need. My proposition is simple...

Zombie Apocalypse Land Before Time...Let me explain.

Bumpity bump! :bestsharptooth

Would be nice to have a literate, multi-paragraph RP going again on this forum. Last time I was in one was called Sudden Change of Species 2.0. A shame that it had died, and I would've bumped it up/asked about it if Mo-o-o was still active on the forum back then or in the past few years. I guess I can poke the discussion thread again though now.

Mo-o-o-o haven't watched any of the LBT movies or the TV series for quite awhile at this point. However, protege... this fishy will always consider rewatching all that the LBT franchise has to offer again, and again, and again. What's not to love our about diverse, lovable, awesome dino gang?
:feelsgoodman :Mo :spikeblush

And besides... I'll eventually re-watch the LBT movies and TV series to do a whole review on them (and for many of them, a re-review since I've already rated some of them in the past, though without any thorough explanation or analysis though...)
:littlefoot

They can't all be that good! :rolleye In fact, as my movie standards keep getting higher, it seems my list of rejects keeps growing. Today, I realized there are 3 out of 14 LBT movies that I can't imagine myself watching ever again...and I even found myself questioning some additional ones!

Your movie standards may keep getting higher, but it's already a pretty low bar to raise in the first place. After all, liking any of the sequels of LBT is already a sign of low movie standards. :rhett_grin :taunttroll

And we all kno-o-ow the mo-o-ovie with Mo-o-o-o is the one sequel everyone should be rewatching anyway, hehe-hahaha! :Mo :MoEvil

I'll take a guess at what movies you'll never want to watch again, Rainbow. Is it The Great Longneck Migration, Invasion of The Tinysauruses, and The Wisdom of Friends?
(The latter guess is the safest guess obviously, but maybe I'll be surprised later on! :rainbowThinking)

@GreyLizard226: Erm, I also agree with @aabicus (LettuceBacon&Tomato) , which means I wouldn't have much to add to the discussion of this thread. Just because nobody is responding doesn't mean people are ignoring you, could just mean they don't really have anything to add to this thread. And with the type of topic that you posted, I'm not surprised that only one person had really anything to say about it after he basically said what everyone else was probably thinking.

As for my own thoughts, while it is possible that the Disney movie that you pointed out inspired an LBT plotline... I mean, there are just so many movies out there that have the same plot lines as other movies in the past, I am talking about this in general. I can't name specifics off top of my head really, but there's just bound to be many cliche/reused/older plot lines that many movies will and have already used by their movie predecessors. I'd say its rare for a movie to be completely original/new these days, and that the strengths/merits of a movie will come from how they execute an already established trope instead. Execution being key is what I'm saying here.

That makes sense. But just to be on the safe side, you did read what I quoted and was referring to?

Yes, I read the whole thing.

Though, I actually am curious on what the person you were quoting meant by "Sadly, the father never finishes the movie with his daughter." What was the person suggesting in this hypothetical scenario at the end? Was he saying that, in pitching his idea to the team of writers about this new LBT plot line, he missed out on implementing other things that the Pocahontas movie had? I'm curious if you know or remember what he meant by that line I mentioned.

I actually rewatch all of the movies fairly often!  :spikeblush

I don't watch the TV Series as much, but I do go back to it every now and then.  :rhett_grin
