Here is how the game works. One person gives the name of a song (with artist, preferably), and the next person gives the name of a song that contains at least one word that is in the name of the previous song.
Example:
- Stay Young - We the Kings
- Only the Good Die Young - Billy Joel
- Only One - Yellowcard
- One Week - Barenaked Ladies
- Jerry Springer (Parody of "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies) - "Weird Al" Yankovic
I have one request, though.
Don't use "the", "and", "or", "it", or any other words like this.[/u]
I'll get it started.
-----
American Pie - Don McLean
-
American Girl-Tom Petty
-
"The Girl I left behind me" - traditional
-
Just the Girl - The Click Five
-
Just so you Know-Jesse McCartney (ew...) XD
-
Just Before the Battle, Mother - George F. Root.
-
The Battle-Harry Gregson-Williams
-
Battle Hymn of the Republic - Julia Ward Howe (why is it that I come up only with songs from the US Civil War? :bang).
-
I think it has to do with you being the historian in this community. :p Maybe..
On topic:
Gregorian Hymn-Nox Arcana
-
Hymn to the Sea - James Horner (Titanic Soundtrack).
-
By The Sea-Helena Bonham Carter
-
Down by the riverside.
(Don't know if the "by" would fall in the category of words not to use. But there was the risk to just enumerate songs with the word sea. I guess the more words there are in a songtitle, the better for the game ;)).
-
"By" is one of the not-allowed words. Shame on you, Malte. You're and admin. You should know better than to break the rules. (JK!)
Face Down - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
-
Good Woman Down-Mary J Blige
-
Pretty Woman, Sweeny Todd
-
No woman no cry - Bob Marley (great game btw)
-
The battle cry of freedom - yet another song of the civil war.
-
Freedom Call - Freedom Call
(yes, song and artist name are the same)
-
Call on me - Eric Prytz
-
On Watership Down, Mike Batt {Watership Down: Music to the TV Series}
-
Take On Me - a-ha
-
Take me to your heaven - Charlotte Nilsson
-
View from Heaven - Yellowcard
-
From This Moment On, Shania Twain {Come on Over}
-
From Sarah with love - Sarah Connor
-
Sarah-The Jefferson Starship
-
I think that we've found an impasse. I don't know of any songs that contain "Sarah" in the title, so I guess we'll have to restart.
I just have one request before I start over, and that is to avoid one-word song titles at all costs. It does get annoying.
