Was linked to this via another forum.  Thought it would be interesting to post it here.

Typing Speed

My result was 63wpm with three mistakes.
Much better than the touchtyping tests that I had to do for school's technology classes when it was down 43wpm.

So practice does make perfect. :yes

53 WPM - 1 mistake.

I do however, prefer my old, heavy, high recoil keyboard, which is not compatible with my laptop.

92wpm - 0 mistakes

I would have gotten better, but I had to screw around with the timer.  This is seriously a very bad test.  In addition, I'm on my laptop in bed.  If I had been in the ideal situation and if the test was more fair, I could have gotten over 100 if I tried. :p

54 WPM, 1 mistake on my heavy keyboard.

The other was 47 WPM, 3 mistakes on my heavy keyboard.

I prefer my heavy keyboard even if it is slightly slower as I have a very hard typing strike.

I'm not too crazy about the test either, but it's mostly due to its length. I have had my typing speed tested using some program (I don't remember the name of it, but it's a tutoring kind of program, for typing) and I like that one better. Last I checked my typing speed was around 70 and 80 WPM, sometimes in the 90s and 100s if I'm lucky. Shame there isn't a typing test that I know of that lets you type whatever you want. That would be more accurate a test; from what I heard, people can type faster when they can type what they want rather than copy what's on the screen. Could be wrong but this is what I've heard.

Well, I really didn't want to merge these two topics together (that's why I made another topic), but the program mentioned here can do that and more.  You should check it out:

Your speed was: 72wpm.

Congratulations! You made no mistakes, practice does make perfect.

I tend to correct my mistakes as I go on, so I guess my typing is a little faster usually :D

Yeah sorry about the test.  As I said I was linked to it on another forum.

Oh well, at least it's a better test compared to the ones at school.  Now they were bad.
