[align=center]Welcome to what might very well be my biggest fanart project so far.

The title pretty much says it already, so without a lot of blabbering, here it is:

And now that the stuff to look at is out of the way ( xD ) I can start talking now.

The things you can see on the card:

Categories
The different categories like size, speed, etc, pretty much explain themselves, the usual top trumps stuff.
Every category can go up to 100 maximum, except size which is what I believe fits to the character if it's not absolutely clear.
There might be some cards that are better than other cards, but my goal is that even the weakest one will have a way to beat the strongest one.

The Treestar Symbol
That one right next to the name. It indicates what the character eats. There will be herbivore, carnivore and omnivore, and it can used to beat other cards as well. When the whole set of cards is done, I'll make a guide to explain how that one works in a better way.
The symbol can also be seen behind the categories, it'll make the cards a little bit different. Carnivores will get a bone instead of the treestar and omnivores will get treestar+bone together

Two trees and a Hill symbol
This is about the habitat, there will be land, water and sky. water will be blue with some underwater plants and sky will be a different blue with some clouds. It also can be used in the game but as I said, the guide will explain that one.
The habitat also shows in the general color of the card. Green for land, and then different shades of blue for sky or water.



How big will the whole set be?

28 different cards. Jup, that is quite a lot, so I'll take my time on this thing. I'm only one person after all and cloning isn't an option, sadly.
With that amount of cards, two and four people can play at the same time.
But I will finish it, no matter how long it takes.

But here's a point where I can use the help of everyone in here.
I made a list of characters that will be in this set no matter what, but there are still 10 characters missing.

So if you know any LBT character you want in this game and who isn't on the list below, write it down as a comment.

Last but not least:

I think I might be able to finish the set in May, but that might be totally not the case. We will see about that, I don't wanna rush myself here.

Hello everyone.

The support I received during this year's fanart award was somewhat amazing to me, I never expected this to be like it was.

So, I kind of want to say thank you to this community because of that, and what better way to do that than giving something back.

Win a custom designed LBT Patch![/align]

To explain this one a tad better, I'll split the explanation up a bit:


The Contest

To enter this, you've got to draw something about the following topic:

What was it that you missed and still would like to see from the movies or episodes we had so far?

Now, I understand that some people don't think they can compete with other artists we have here and that they don't like to draw in general - however -

This is NOT about artistic talent!

It really doesn't matter in this case. If you have a great idea, don't let it discourage you that you might not capture it just as you see it before your inner eye. From a sketch to a full blown masterpiece, heck even just stick figures that resemble the characters from LBT, everything will be accepted here. Which brings me to my next point:


How the winner gets picked

As you can see, I added a poll to this topic in regards of how the winner will be picked, because I couldn't decide which option would be the best. So I decided to leave it up to you guys.

The random number generator should be pretty much clear, about the other option, there are a few things to say.

Once again, if it comes to me picking a winner, artistic talent won't matter at all, the only thing that will matter in my decision is if the idea is a good one in terms of creativity and such.

Of course, if I choose a winner myself, even without paying attention to the quality of the drawing, it will be a subjective choice.

Also, if you want that, I can (and will) give feedback to whatever you submit here, if you do tell me to do so together with your submission. If you don't say anything about wanting feedback, I assume that you don't want it. This feedback also won't influence the decision, should I be the one who makes it.


What is there to win?

The winner gets to choose any of these pictures to be made into a physical patch.



Production and also shipping of the patch will be on me. I still need to check out the options I have when it comes to sending a letter into another country, but since I have some experience in that regard by ordering stuff from outside Germany already, I do know that I will pick an option where tracking is involved, so the thing won't get lost.

I won't choose express mail because that can get rather expensive when you send stuff around the world.
However, if you decide you want express mail (only an option for those outside of the EU) and you are willing to cover that cost, then I don't see why not also express mail.

The patch will be made by Gray, who already made two of these into physical patches, which can be seen here and here.

The patch will have a diameter of 9 centimeters


A few final words

The poll I added to this topic will go on for one week.
I will only accept submissions AFTER that time is over. You can of course start right away, but don't post your submission after I made a post one week from now that states that submissions are open.

The time you have from when submissions are open until they're closed again will be two weeks (September 1st to September 15th).


Also, since submissions won't be accepted for one more week and the poll on how the winner will be chosen is still running, that time can be used to ask some questions you have about this.

This is my first time doing this, and I'd be surprised if there isn't at least one thing I forgot to mention.

So with all that being said, I hope that this will be well received and that quite some of you will join in on this.

I was talking to Malte279 today, and he had a great idea what I could do with one of my fanart series. I really liked that idea, but I also thought, why should only I do that when everyone would be able to.

So, what is this all about? Well, as you may or may not know, I recently completed the Gang Of Five patch series (I'll link these pictures below) and they all say Spike Approved, Littlefoot Approved and so on.

Malte279's idea was that, if you see something that one of the Gang would approve, you take a photo of that something and then edit the patch including the fitting Gang member on that photo, then upload that photo somewhere and show it in this topic.

For example, a bush of berries would get a Spike Approval, a star shaped leaf would get a Littlefoot Approval, a swimming pool the one of Ducky and so on.

It can literally be anything if you think that it fits.

I also would create a folder for this on my deviantart page where I would collect those pictures for everyone to see - if you give me permission to do so, please let me know if you want that when you make a picture like that.
I would of course also link to your account here or anything you want in the description when I upload it on my page.

One more thing: Right now it is only the Gang + Ali, but more characters will probably be done in the future. I will of course mention it if another patch was made.

Yep, here's realistic (and grown-up) Littlefoot running around.

And I think this will be a small series - depending on how many of these I'll get - they're not the cheapest figurines you can get.^^
But I decided on collecting them, so...we'll see.

Oh btw: I'm trying to put them in a scenery where they could've actually been. It recently was discovered that grass was already there during the cretaceous period, and I was pretty lucky there because this spot is 10 minutes away from my house.
Finding fitting places will get more difficult for other time periods..but I'm positive I'll find something.^^

And if anyone may know more than I do about Dinosaurs and where they lived, I'm always open for tips, suggestions etc.

And btw: the model size is..eh, I won't tell. I could but I think it's funnier to not to.
Everyone who is from Germany: Schleich is pretty much in every store that has toys.^^

Right now I have only one LBT fanart. If those get more after a while, I might do a better startpost. But for now...

This one isn't so special, but doing scenes/poses that are from the movie itself helped me a lot with ponies, it helps me understand and really seeing the concept of the characters I'm drawing, so I'll be doing that until I feel I am now able to use the design completely by myself. It isn't traced though. I just look at a screenshot and try to get as close as I can (and I have some experience at that by now, my first MLP Fanart looked nowhere close to this.)

Oh and yes, I know. Ducky's/Petrie's face might still need some work but that is the part where I did things by myself already. I probably will do portraits of them next.

Time needed: Started yesterday, finished today.
WIP Versions: Here and here, if anyone is interested.
