Two longnecks looked over a luscious paradise, a place they hoped would be their new home. One was a young adult male who was covered in scars, the other was a young girl with a troubled past. They glanced at each other before making their way into the Great Valley.
-
Following them silently was another longneck. Her light blue eyes blank. If you look closely you could swear you saw an evil sparkle. A stone was tied around her neck. This longneck was a bright pink and white. Her name was Nahla but she was more well known as 'The Monster'.
~~~~
Inside the valley it's self. Another longneck child was having his breakfast. This one had a greyish brown coat and reddish brown eyes. Littlefoot glanced over to his two Grandparents-his main caregivers after the death of his mother a few years ago.
-
Littlefoot's grandparents were both helping themselves to breakfast, getting ready for a new day. Grandpa soon noticed two longnecks coming into the Valley.
"Looks like we have new arrivals," he said happily to his mate.
-
Littlefoot's face lit up with excitement "Who are they? Huh huh huh?" he began bouncing a thing he does when he is excited.
~
Nahla stopped watching Taro and Lily,she looked around for a way to get in herself without being seen. She started to scale the wall and walked along a ledge,unaware she just walked past Grandma and Grandpa-right past them,
-
Grandma and Grandpa were chatting to each other on the way, and didn't take any notice of little longneck that had just passed them.
Taro noticed them coming, and he got nervous as usual. Lily also saw them and hid behind him, fear in her eyes.
-
Nahla stopped walking when something caught her interest. A brown longneck walked beside two larger grey ones. A thoughtful look spread across her face..he'll be useful. She looked away and stared down at Taro and Lily the blank look returning.
-
Taro took a deep breath when the old longnecks arrived. Grandma and Grandpa both seemed shocked at the amount of scars he had, but tried not to make it obvious.
"Welcome to the Great Valley," Grandma greeted. "Who might you be, may I ask?"
"The name's Taro," the young male answered.
"Is it just you?" Grandpa questioned.
"Well... there's someone else with me, but apart from her... no," said Taro. "She's quite shy so I suppose she ran off and hid somewhere." Behind him Lily whimpered, scared of the old longnecks.
-
Nahla stood right above them,small rocks tumbled down because of her weight. She snarled loudly enough for the group to hear.
-
Grandma looked up and saw Nahla. She hadn't seen Lily hiding behind Taro so she thought that this was probably the other one he was with.
"Oh, hello there," she greeted, although she was already slightly unnerved by the way this girl was snarling. "I don't suppose you're looking for someone called Taro? He went that way if you are," she pointed to where Taro had gone with her head, but she also backed off and carried on with her mate, almost scared by this young longneck. There was something about her that made Grandma just not want to be around her.
-
Nahla just stared at them her eyes seeming to stare them down before trotting off in the direction Grandma pointed her too.
Littlefoot stared after her "She seems kinda freaky" he commented.
-
"Yes, I'll agree with you on that, dear," said Grandma.
"I'm sure I may have heard of her from somewhere," Grandpa wondered.
"What do you mean?" Grandma asked.
"Well, I haven't seen her before," her mate explained, "but I have heard of someone with that sort of description from farwalkers... Oh well," he added, shrugging the thought off.
-
"Heard of her? Why is she famous? IS SHE A HERO?" Littlefoot asked bouncing up and down.
Unware to him,Nahla had turned back and was glaring at Littlefoot growling coming from her throat.
-
"No... the opposite actually," Grandpa said quietly. "Littlefoot, I don't want you going near her until we find out who she is, okay?"
-
"Why? Cause she acts weird?" Littlefoot said confused.
-
Grandpa stared straight ahead. "I can't be sure if it's this dinosaur, but I could just see something in her eyes."
Grandma nodded. "It certainly made me feel uncomfortable... I don't trust her," she said.
-
A rock was flung at the Grandparents,Nahla stared them down before snapping at the air and fleeing.
Littlefoot tilted his head "That was strange"
-
The grandparents ignored the rock, but both were slightly irked by it.
"Yep, definitely don't trust her," said Grandpa, picking up Littlefoot and walking into the trees."
-
"Why dont you trust her?" Littlefoot questioned.
-
"It's just... there was definitely a spark of something evil in her eyes," said Grandma. "That and the snarling and throwing rocks..."
-
Nahla jumped out in front of them just staring "Why you speaking about me" she snarled clearly not pleased.
-
"How did you know we were talking about you?" Grandma shot back at her. "Have you been following us?"
Taro and Lily had overheard something and Taro went to see what was going on while Lily hid in the bushes.
-
Nahla raised her head "Maybe I was..." she chuckled the evil sparkle growing bigger.
-
Taro came through the trees, staring at the pink longneck. He knew he had seen her somewhere before.
"Is she with you?" Grandma asked. Taro shook his head and pointed towards the bushes with his tail, where Lily had poked her tail out to show that she was the one who had hidden away.
"She's the one with me," said Taro.
Grandma nodded and glared at Nahla, but only because she was getting more unnerved by her presence.
-
Nahla glared at Grandma "What you looking at?" she spat.
-
"You'd better be careful," Grandma warned. "I dare say you could end up banished soon enough if your ghastly behaviour carries on." With that said, she walked away, taking Littlefoot with her.
-
Nahla just smirked "Some new targets,excellent" she said forgetting the males and Lily were still there.
-
Taro raised an eyebrow at her before scoffing and leaving with Lily, Grandpa following him.
-
Nahla laughed before going back into the shadows.
-
"That was strange," said Taro as he walked on. "And a little bit terrifying, too." Grandpa nodded in agreement as the two found Grandma and Littlefoot.
Lily still hid behind Taro, terrified of the elderly longnecks.
-
Littlefoot sat up "Whats with that new longneck? She kinda scares me" Littlefoot admitted "I heard her whispering before..."
-
"I'm not sure, Littlefoot," said Grandpa, shaking her head.
"I think she might have followed us here," said Taro. "Sometimes I just look around and see her. For a while I thought I was imagining things, but..."
Lily poked her head out from behind Taro's leg and spotted Littlefoot.
-
"I heard her whispering 'die die die' before" Littlefoot said looking scared not noticing Lily.
-
"What?!" Grandma exclaimed in horror.
Lily came out a bit more, eyeing Littlefoot with a spark of curiosity in her eyes.
-
Littlefoot nodded "Yeah she kept chanting die die die over and over" he turned his head now noticing Lily/
-
Grandpa and Grandma glanced at each other nervously.
Lily backed off behind Taro again, not saying a word.
-
With that the said longneck stepped out from the shadows. Nahla's blue eyes were full of evil and darkness. She glanced around the group smirking.
-
Lily whimpered and hid again. The others said nothing, but Grandma quickly hoisted Littlefoot up into the safety of height.
-
Nahla frowned "Whats up with you lot?"
-
Again, the only sound that could be heard was Lily whimpering. She already hated this place. Everyone else just glanced at each other.
-
Nahla heard Lily and walked over to her "Hello" she said with a fake smile.
-
Lily backed off, not realising she was backing up against Grandpa's leg. "Stop following us," she whispered.
-
Nahla laughed and turned away "Forget it your not worth it" she started to walk away but she looked up at Littlefoot "Your time will soon be up" she said and with that she was gone.
-
Lily shuddered and realised what she was doing. She gasped and ran into a bush.
Taro sighed. "Sorry. I suppose it's our fault she's here," he said quietly.
-
"What does she mean my time will soon be up?" Littlefoot asked very scared.
-
"Hopefully it won't come to that," said Grandma.
Grandpa looked at the bush Lily had run into, concern showing on his face.
-
Nahla plopped herself down on a ledge staring into space. She kicked herself in the head for letting it happen again,she can just not control herself.
-
Taro sighed again. "I'll leave you alone," he said. He thought Lily had already left, so he walked away.
Lily poked her head out to see if Taro was still there, and she was scared to see that he wasn't. She looked over at Littlefoot, who reminded her a lot of someone she knew.
-
Littlefoot glanced down at Lily "Hi" he said trying to be friendly.
-
"H-h-hi," Lily stammered.
-
"I'm Littlefoot,whats your name?" Littlefoot smiled noticing her fear.
-
"Er... I'm Lily," the young female answered, shaking.
-
Nahla began to walk back to the group she stopped and gulped "Umm sorry bout before"
-
Everyone stared at her, not knowing what to say.
-
Littlefoot slipped down and walked over to her "Hi" he said.
Nahla stared at him and before she could stop herself she had him pin down and had her foot pressed again his throat 'DIE!" she screamed as she attempted to choke him.
-
Taro pushed Nahla off him in panic and scooped up the young male.
"I'm sure that's being sorry!" Grandma exclaimed in horror.
-
Littlefoot was wide eyed and trembling.
-
Lily climbed up Taro's tail quietly, and looked up at Littlefoot, curiosity in her eyes again.
-
Nahla started snarling at the adults for taking her target.
-
The adults backed away from the seemingly insane child. Lily nearly fell off Taro's back when he did so.
-
"Please make her go away" Littlefoot said while trembling.
-
"That can easily be arranged," said Grandpa, looking up at a flyer nest. The flyer that belonged there could carry the young longneck far away from the Great Valley.
-
Nahla laughed "What you gonna do? Banish me?" she taunted them with a fake smie.
-
"Er... yes, actually," said Grandpa. "And if you bother coming back, there will be very severe consequences," he warned.
-
"Would love to see you try" Nahla smiled circling the group.
-
"Fair enough, if you want," said Grandma, calling the flyer over and explaining the situation to him. He seemed to stare daggers at the young longneck.
-
Nahla sat down an amused smile on her face.
-
Grandma backed away and went next to her mate, not knowing what was up with this demonic child. Taro kept quite a firm grip on Littlefoot, while Lily clung onto his neck, terrified by almost everyone around her.
-
Nahla chuckled "I'm waiting for my 'banishment' though I will be back...I always come back" her eyes now seeming to glow.
-
"Get her out of here," Grandma ordered. The flyer nodded and scooped the pink longneck up to take her far, far away.
-
Nahla just smirked and pulled out a rock,using it to swipe at the flyer.
(Gee when Nahla goes evil,she goes EVIL)
-
The flyer screeched as he flew very high. "If you want to be "dropped off" and die, you can just say so!" he shouted.
-
(Another RP? Geee you guys move fast. Is there room is this very interesting looking rp for Zimmy? :D)
-
(Sure! The more the betterer, as Ducky would say. :D)
-
(Great which character hmmm,Zimba? Cause we all LOOOVE him. Ugh wheres Nahla when you actually need her)
-
(Well, whatever character you wish to put in. I don't mind. :D And I think both of you are in bed at this time. :lol)
-
(Zimmy you can't be evil though. Nahla already claimed that sorry :lol)
Nahla swiped at the flyer again "I suggest you put me down"
-
The flyer scoffed as he rose higher in the air. "I don't think so," he said as he flew far away from the valley.
-
Nahla snarled before completely stabbing the flyer "Let...me...go" she growled her eyes seeming to glow with hate.
-
The flyer screeched in pain but didn't let go of Nahla; instead he gripped onto her tighter. He started to descend and dropped Nahla into a mud puddle and turned to fly back towards the Great Valley.
-
Nahla watched him and smiled knowing a trick. She acted completely dead,even using a trick to make her breathing not been.
-
The flyer didn't even see her; he never looked down, nor did he particularly care about the young longneck.
Meanwhile back in the Great Valley the longneck family and the new arrivals stayed together. Taro put Littlefoot back on the ground after any immediate danger was gone. Lily slid down his tail and poked her head out from behind his foreleg, lost in memories when she saw Littlefoot.
-
Nahla opened one eye and growled closing her eye again keeping up her trick knowing she was bound to fool someone.
Littlefoot looked around and saw Lily "Want to play?" he asked.
-
Soon enough, an adult longneck and his adopted son came across the pink child. The adult stared at the child in shock.
"Erm... okay," she whispered, looking extremely shy.
-
Bron stared down at the child before nudging her "She is dead" he commented picking her up and looking to the distance where the Great Valley was "Come Shorty" he said walking towards the valley,Nahla's dead body on his back...well he thought she was dead.
~~~~
Littlefoot smiled "Great,what do you want to play?"
-
"Erm... I don't mind," Lily answered, still only showing her head from behind Taro's leg.
-
Littlefoot thought for a moment "Hide and seek?" he asked glancing around "Hey look!" he said suddenly.
Bron stood at the entrance,here to visit his son.
-
"Who's that?" Lily questioned as Grandma and Grandpa got up.
-
"DAD!" Littlefoot screamed running towards him.
-
Grandma and Grandpa walked towards their son-in-law, but they were shocked to see what he was carrying.
"Please tell me he didn't..." Grandpa whispered.
-
Bron smiled at them "Mama and Papa Longneck! Nice to see you".
Shorty smiled at them "Hiya!".
-
"Hello Bron, hello Shorty," Grandma greeted.
"He did..." said Grandpa, looking around at who Bron was actually carrying. He frowned.
-
"Oh I found this kid" he said putting Nahla on the ground in front of him.
-
"You brought her back..." Grandma whipsered. "...YOU BROUGHT HER BACK?!?!?!"
-
Bron stepped back in shock looking down at the lifeless form "Bought her back? I don't know what you mean..I found her lying dead in the middle of the mysterious beyond"
-
"She was banished!" Grandma argued. "She tried to kill your son!"
Taro grabbed Lily and backed away, knowing that there was probably going to trouble. Lily shuddered when heard the old female shouting.
-
Bron's eyes rose in pure shock "You banished a child?" he stammered.
-
"Yes!" Grandma cried. "She's completely evil! She stalked some newcomers into the valley, insulted us, tried to kill Littlefoot ,and you brought her back?! So yes, she was banished."
-
"And she's dead" Bron added nodding to Nahla who was still putting on her act. But fully aware what was going on.
Littlefoot was hiding behind Grandma's leg.
-
"Why are you carrying dead children around, Bron?" Grandma asked. "Someone's going to end up mistaking you for a murderer..."
-
Bron sighed "I thought she had gotten lost,and since the nearest valley was this one here. I thought maybe her family would be here and they might of wanted to lay her to rest" he looked away already looking stressed.
-
"She hasn't got a family," Grandpa said quietly.
"And she was most definitely not lost," Grandma added.
-
Bron looked away "I still can't believe you banished a child....but forget it. Wheres Littlefoot?" he asked not nocting Littlefoot hidden.
-
"Better safe than sorry," Grandma muttered.
"He's over there," Grandpa answered, pointing to the bush.
-
Littlefoot slowly came out and walked over to Bron. He was nearly there when a pink tail wrapped aorund his leg.
Nahla woke up with a smirk "Told you I always come back" she laughed "Did you's like my act? I'm a natural actor ain't I?"
-
Lily was angered by this; she broke away from Taro and knocked Nahla away from Littlefoot.
"Leave him alone," she snarled.
-
Nahla just rolled her eyes before raising her foot and striking Lily across the face.
-
Lily didn't even seem to notice; she just charged at Nahla.
Taro rushed over to stop the fighting. He grabbed Lily while Grandpa got Nahla and Grandma picked up Littlefoot and backed off.
-
Nahla pinned Lily to the ground and tried to choke her.
Shorty charged forward and used his whole weight to send her flying into a rock,knocking her out for real this time.
-
Lily looked at Shorty, staring at him for quite some time.
-
Shorty huffed and turned to Lily "Hey I'm Shorty,and you are?"
-
"Er... Lily," the young female answered shyly, slowly back away behind Taro again.
-
Bron smiled at Lily before turning to his Parents-in-law "What do we do with her?" he asked nodding towards Nahla.
-
(I may bring in Nani but she'll be good and try and get the evil out of her daughter)
-
(Okay, I think Grandma's feeling a bit sour at the moment, like her father. :lol)
"Well, she can't stay here," Grandma said.
-
"She'll die out there" Bron commented.
-
"It's her or your son, and probably the other little ones too," Grandma sighed.
-
Bron sighed in defeat "Do as you wish then"
-
"Perhaps we should see what the others want to do about her," Grandpa suggested.
-
"They'll kill her" Bron said.
Nahla started showing signs of coming round.
Littlefoot gasped "She is waking up"
-
Grandma picked Littlefoot up and walked away without another word.
"I could ask that flyer to send her out again, but he's been injured by her and she'll probably do that dead trick again to fool some farwalkers," Grandpa said, frowning.
-
Nahla fully awoke now and jumped to her feet snarling she starting walking to Taro and Lily.
-
Grandpa lightly stepped on her tail. It wouldn't have hurt much but hopefully it would stop her from getting any closer. Lily whimpered and hid in another bush.
-
Nahla yelped in surprise as she was jerked back suddenly.
-
Grandpa didn't let go.
"Get yourself and your little one out of here," he said to Taro. Taro didn't want to get on the old one's bad side so he did as he was told... sort of. He hid in foliage behind Lily in case anything happened.
-
Nahla thrashed and tried to get away but with no luck.
-
Grandpa sighed, wishing Bron had just passed her by.
-
"LET ME GO!" she screamed.
"If you want her dead just kill her" Bron said "Then we can all move on"
-
"Oh, that'll get me a good reputation," said Grandpa. "'Oh look, there's Grandpa Longneck, y'know, the one that killed that little girl?' I'm sure that'll go down well, Bron."
-
"No one will find out.." he stopped himself only realizng what he was saying too late.
-
Grandpa looked at him.
Taro came out from behind the bushes. "Then let me do it," he said. "If you two aren't killers..." He trailed off.
-
Nahla grabbed a rock and aimed it at Grandpa.
-
"Oh, please," Taro scoffed, pulling the rock away from her.
-
Nahla snarled "You can't do anything to me" she chuckled.
-
"Oh, really?" Taro asked. "Why so sure?"
-
"You would not hurt a child" Nahla smiled "I been watching you for months" she chuckled evily.
-
Taro scoffed, but he knew she was right.
"Well, there's a first time for everything," he sighed.
-
Nahla smirked before standing up "But show me what you got. Freak" she snarled.
-
"Oh, fine," Taro sighed. "You're right, I'm not a killer."
-
"No your not" Nahla agreed finding another rock that was even sharper "But I am"
-
"Now don't go doing that again," Taro scolded. "I may not be able to step on you but I can and will drop you off a cliff and can convince everyone that it was an accident."
-
"Would leave to see you try" Nahla said before stabbing the male in the leg and drawing the rock down "Oops" she said through insane laughter
-
Grandpa stared in horror as blood came out of Taro's leg, but the young male didn't even seem to notice.
"Funny," he said as Lily screamed from behind the bushes. "Now you've done it."
-
Nahla just smiled using the grass to wipe the blood of her rock.
-
"Right, you're coming with me," said Taro as he picked Nahla up by the tail that Grandpa had released and walked off with a slight limp form the injured leg.
Lily wasn't sure if she wanted to go with him or not, so she stay put, debating with herself.
Grandpa seemed shocked, but he didn't know how much he could feel for the child. She had tried to kill his grandson, after all.
-
Nahla did not thrash just smirked as Taro held her "You won't do anything".
-
"Well, kid... I'm not going to be the one to kill you, but I can call a sharptooth over and see if they want a meal," Taro threatened.
-
Nahla scoffed "Yeah right"
-
Taro walked outside of the valley, and set Nahla down before quickly trapping her with his foot. He snarled loudly and it echoed, and suddenly many different sharpteeth, both large and small, appeared from caves and from behind rocks.
(Taro why are you so evil in this RP?)
-
Nahla just yawned boredly.
-
The carnivores approached, awe in their eyes when they saw two longnecks.
"She's yours," Taro snarled. When they heard it was just a child the bigger carnivores left, hunting a bigger meal, but the fast biters approached, happy for any meal they would get.
-
Nahla rolled her eyes "You won't really do this"
-
"Sorry I didn't hear that," Taro answered. He let go of Nahla a split second before the fast biters pounced on her.
-
Nahla screamed in shock as she tried to break free.
-
One of the fast biters managed to sink it's teeth into the longneck's tail, but it's grip was knocked away by another predator.
-
Nahla screamed in pain at the bite,she glared at Taro "HELP ME!"/
-
Taro stared at her, and sighed. He knew the others were deceived before, but he didn't really have the heart to kill her.
-
Meanwhile Bron was pacing back and forth "He is gonna feed her to meateaters!" he shouted "Maybe something about her past made her like this? Like that Nani she was so nice till that Hades came along and starting raising her and she turned into a killer. Maybe if we show that girl some love and kindness..she'll turn good" Bron looked away from Grandpa still not beliving what he had done to a young child.
-
"Honestly, Bron, I doubt that," Grandpa sighed, shaking his head. "We could ask her, but I doubt she'll want to listen or do anything other than kill us. Sorry, but I care for Littlefoot's safety more than anything right now, and with her around he isn't safe at all!"
There was a rustle in the bushes behind him. Lily had overheard the conversation and had shuddered quite violently.
-
Nahla by then had passed out due to blood loss from bites. Though she tried to fight against it...she did not have the strength.
~
Bron shook his head "I should not of bought her here,I'm sorry"
-
Taro sighed and told the fast biters to back off, but refused. It seemed like he would have to go in there and fight them off himself; he didn't know these carnivores, after all. He got himself into a bloody fight to save a murderer.
~
Grandpa sighed again. "I suppose it's too late, anyway," he admitted. He looked over at the bush Lily was in. She gasped and fled immediately.
-
Nahla laid covered in blood and bite marks,a large cut ran across her back. If she was alive now she won't be for long without medical help.
-
"Oh, crud," Taro cursed. He managed to fight off the fast biters but was covered in fresh scars and bites, most of which were still bleeding. He looked over at Nahla and sighed, immediately finding things he could use to help her.
-
Nahla was not responding to the world around her,the fastbiters delt her quite the blow.
~
Littlefoot was hiding under Grandma "Is she gone yet?" Littlefoot asked looking around in fear for the demonic pink longneck.
-
Taro cleaned her and found sone treestars to cover the wounds.
~
"I'm not sure, dear," Grandma answered. "I hope so."
Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes, but it wasn't the demonic pink longneck. Lily ran out.
"Whoa!" she cried as she crashed into Littlefoot

Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes, but it wasn't the demonic pink longneck. Lily ran out.
"Whoa!" she cried as she crashed into Littlefoot
-
Nahla moaned and opened her blue eyes,the fight seemed to have die in her.
~
Littlefoot let out a yelp of surprise as he fell to the ground.
-
Taro was still panicking and didn't notice she was awake.
~
"Sorry!" Lily cried, hiding again when she saw Grandma staring at her.
-
Nahla suddenly tried to stand only to crash back to the ground,she panted in pure fear and panic.
(Got another chapter of Nahla's story coming)
-
Taro didn't know whether to stay or leave her there. Eventually a guilty conscience kicked in and he lay down next to her.
(Whoo! :DD)
-
(Just being proof read by Zimmy :lol)
Nahla eyed Taro in fear,her own evil seeming to be lost against it. She tired to stand once more only to fall again and reopen a wound.
-
"Whoa, don't bother trying to stand up," Taro warned. "I suppose I changed my mind about... you know."
-
Nahl screamed "If you want to kill me then kill me!" she said clear fear in her voice .
-
"Well, I'm too big of a coward for that," Taro admitted.
-
Nahla once again tried to stand only to once again crash to the ground.
-
"I said don't try standing up," said Taro. "You're causing yourself more damage."
-
Nahla whimpered "What you gonna do to me?"
-
"Stay here and keep an eye on you," Taro answered. "Crud, I hope Lily's okay..."
-
Meanwhile Bron had laid down while Shorty was pacing with boredom "Is Mama Longneck ever gonna bring Littlefoot back?" Bron questioned.
-
"I doubt she knows that other child isn't here," Grandpa answered.
-
Bron sighed "She is dead now most likely...poor kid she was bad yes but she was a child,she was young...she could of changed with help" he said still pacing waiitng for his son.
-
Grandpa didn't reply to this. He stood there in deep thought for a while.
-
Nahla had gone totally silent besides her heavy breathing,it was clear she was struggling to breath.
-
Taro sighed and tried something that would make her breathing easier.
-
The bright circle belted down. Nahla panted from the heat. She wanted to go back into the valley but she could not stand. Besides that Taro guy was not gonna let her move.
-
"Hmm... perhaps we should move..." said Taro, noticing how hot it was getting. "All right, get on," he said, lowering his head down to her.
-
Nahla unsteadily shifted herself pretty much collapsing on Taro's head.
-
"Well, good enough," Taro muttered as he carefully moved a nearby cave. There was green fuzz growing in it and water was dripping down from the top of it, and it was quite cool in there too.
-
Nahla moaned in pain "Just kill me,I really do not to live anymore..not after what I did...what they made me do...after how they changed me..." she sobbed.
-
"After what who made you do?" Taro asked, curious.
-
"My parents..they turned me into a killer...I wanted peace...but they beat me so much in time all I knew was violence and started to be violent...I found a group of other kids...and killed them all...now I can't stop..because of them..." she stopped talking and laid still passing out again.
-
Taro sat still and sighed, wondering if she could be changed again.
-
Meanwhile Littlefoot started getting restless he wanted to go be with his father for a while.
-
Lily still hid in the bushes again, desperate to be with Taro again. She started to sob quietly, she didn't like being here.
-
Nahla started coming round again,she seemed surprised to see Taro still there.
-
"There's some food and water in this place if you need anything," the male said. "Sorry about earlier."
-
Nahla just stared at him "You were gonna let them eat me..." she whispered
-
"I... have no excuse for my actions," he said, turning away.
-
"Kill me...please" Nahla begged "I'm known as a monster...and can't live with that"
-
Taro sighed. "Do you think if you were loved you would change your ways?" he asked.
-
Nahla tilted her head "Loved? What does that mean?" she said with a confused tone.
-
"You know... looked after, treated with kindness, no violence at all..." Taro said, not entirely sure how to explain it.
-
"Oh" Nahla said "Maybe....but no one will trust me now...just kill me"
-
"Ugh... I can say the same, everyone probably thinks I killed you," Taro sighed. "Well, there's another chance for Lily's happiness that I blew up."
-
Nahla did not answer that she just laid there and sighed.
-
Taro also sat there, silent tears falling down his face.
-
Nahla turned her head,she was looking towards the valley.
-
"I doubt either of us will be welcome back there any time soon," Taro assumed, sighing.
-
Nahla looked away from the valley and stared at the cave wall moaning in pain quietly.
-
Taro knocked his head against the wall of the cave, just wanting to knock himself out.
-
Nahla stood up without crashing back down. She glanced at Taro and starting limping back to the valley.
-
Taro got up and followed her. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked.
-
Nahla ignored him and kept walking.
-
"Hello?" Taro asked.
-
Nahla stopped and looked back at Taro "What?"
-
"Where do you think you're going?" Taro repeated.
-
"Where do you think" Nahla snapped back,
-
"You're putting too much pressure on those injuries of yours," Taro answered.
-
"I don't care" she shouted and walked forward again she made it a few steps before she collapsed in pain,
-
"Told you," said Taro. "If you wanted to go somewhere, you could just ask," he added, picking her up.
-
"Take me back in there,don't care if they kill me I need to tell them something" Nahla demanded.
-
"Fair enough," said Taro, walking at a much quicker pace towards the valley.
-
Bron was laying down awaiting for Grandma to come back with his son, He his tail on the ground annoyed.
-
Grandma had gone over to the bushes to see what was up with the sobbing. Lily saw her and gasped. She backing away, her eyes full of fear.
"P-p-please don't hurt me," she stammered.
~
Taro entered the Great Valley again. He was extremely nervous about returning and he trembled.
-
Bron gasped when he saw what just came in the valley "Umm they are back...both of em" he said nodding towards Taro and 'The Demon Child'.
-
Taro approached them, looking almost terrified.
"She.... she has something to say," he said, managing to talk while still having Nahla in his mouth.
-
Nahla sighed "I'm sorry,I never wanted this..but my parents forced me to become this..all they ever showed me was violence so I thought that was what I'm meant to do...everytime I hurt or kill somebody I feel a stab in my heart...I took a life away...I'm so sorry...kill me...it ends my misery too" Nahla sobbed heavily.
-
"I'm going to get Lily and go," said Taro, putting Nahla down and starting to walk off.
"Wait there," said Grandpa. Taro froze, looking terrified.
-
Nahla eyed Grandpa and slowly limped over standing in front of him "Do what you must" she said and hang her head.
-
Grandpa sighed. "I can't," he admitted. He looked over to Bron.
-
Bron looked around "Umm..Ill do it" he offered walking over to Nahla and raising his foot over her neck.
-
Taro pressed his eyes shut. "I thought she could change, now she knows why she's the way she is..." he said quietly.
-
Bron bought down his foot,there was a shriek and Nahla laid motionless. She was really just knocked out but she looked really really...dead due to her little energy.
Bron backed away "There"
-
Grandpa turned away and faced Taro. "You didn't do it..."
"I couldn't. I'm not a killer," Taro answered.
Lily had run away from Grandma and Littlefoot in terror.
"Taro!" she screamed when she saw him. She ran up to him and hugged him around the leg, sobbing. She didn't notice how much he was still bleeding nor the "dead" body of Nahla near ehr.
-
Bron sighed "There problem sloved,can I see my son now?. The demon child is dead"
-
Lily felt a drop of something warm on her head, and gasped when she saw it was Taro's blood.
"Y..you're hurt," she stammered.
"I'm fine," Taro assured, licking the blood off her head.
Grandma came through the trees a few moments later, after trying to follow Lily. She gasped when she saw Taro and the body of the demon child.
-
Bron smiled at Grandma "Hi Mama Longneck"
-
"H-hello..." Grandma stammered, looking from Taro to Nahla and back to Taro in horror.
-
"Oh yeah" Bron said nodding to Nahla "I killed her for you"
-
"Right..." Grandma backed away, making sure Littlefoot didn't see any of this.
-
Littlefoot was confused "Whats going on Grandma?"
-
"It's just... let's get out of here," she answered, picking up Littlefoot and walking off.
-
"I wanna be with dad for a while" Littlefoot complained.
-
"Well, he needs to get his tail over here then," said Grandma, frowning. "There's no way you're going to that area."
-
"Why?" Littlefoto questioned.
-
"Because it's not something for young eyes to see," Grandma explained.
-
"Why wasnt the pink longneck moving?" Littlefoot asked more questions.
-
Grandma sighed and didn't reply, silent tears falling down her face.
-
"Grandma?" Littlefoot pressed on.
-
"That's what I didn't want you to see," Grandma whispered.
-
"Why? What wrong with her?" Littlefoot asked again.
-
"I suppose some would say she deserved it, I suppose even I was like that... I didn't think it would actually happen, though..." Grandma answered, not actually answering the question.
-
Littlefoot pulled a confused face but did not say anything.
-
Grandma carried on, looking quite distraught. She didn't think Bron of all dinosaurs would kill a child.
-
Littlefoot sighed and looked back "Will she hurt me again?"
-
Grandma shook her head. "No... she won't."
-
"What you gonna do with her?' Littlefoot kept up with his questions.
-
"It's been sorted," Grandma answered bluntly.
-
"How?" Littlefoot said while turning around.
~
Bron stared down at the 'dead' body "What do we do with it?"
-
Grandma was slowly starting to understand why Mr Thicknose didn't appreciate all of the questions Littlefoot asked him.
"She's... she was..." She was unsure of what to say.
~
"I'll find her somewhere to rest," said Taro.
-
Littlefoot stayed silent waiting for Grandma to finish.
~
Bron nodded and stepped away to check on Shorty.
-
"Killed," Grandma whispered, wishing Littlefoot wouldn't hear her.
~
Taro covered the body with a large treestar for now. He told Lily that she should probably hang out with someone else, mostly Grandpa or Bron but she absolutely refused and hid in the bushes again.
Grandpa went back to find his mate and grandson, quite disturbed by the recent events.
-
Littlefoot did hear and began to sobbed wildly. A kid like him was killed he could not bare it
-
Grandma took a deep breath and sighed, tears falling down her own face.
~
Taro soon found an abandoned cave and moved to body there.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly before walking away to find Lily. He was getting out of here.
-
Littlefoot kept on sobbing "Who...killed her?" he wailed "She was just a kid,I'm sure she was good inside somewhere"
-
"I don't know if I should tell you that, dear," Grandma sighed. "She might have been good, but I suppose not many would give her the chance."
-
"Why?" Littlefoot asked not understanding at all.
-
"I suppose she did the evil deed too soon, like when she tried to kill you," Grandma tried to explain.
-
"Still she did not need to be killed,I thought you said all lives are equal and all living things have a role,she might of had a role...maybe she didn't know that yet" Littlefoot went silent after that.
-
Grandma didn't answer; she stopped suddenly, deep in thought.
-
Littlefoot sighed and figured he might as well just take a nap.
-
Grandpa came back through the trees, seeing how grim everyone was. Grandma glanced at him sadly but said nothing.
-
Bron followed him with Shorty,his gaze was fixed to the ground.
-
Grandma sighed and lay down next to Littlefoot, still not saying a word.
-
Bron sighed "Can I see my son now?" he questioned.
-
Grandma nodded but she didn't move from the spot she had settled down in.
-
Littlefoot ran towards his dad "Dad!"
-
"Did you tell him?" Grandpa asked when he walked up to his mate.
"I told him that she's dead, but I didn't say who did it," Grandma explained. "No point in causing him more pain."
-
Bron smiled at his son happy to see him again.
Littlefoot smiled back unaware it was his father who had killed Nahla.
-
Grandma and Grandpa looked uncertain but said nothing.
-
Meanwhile Nahla was starting to come around,however she had serve head and neck wounds.
-
Taro had gone back to get Lily and accidentally stumbled across the Littlefoot and his family. Lily whimpered when she saw them.
-
Nahla in the cave moaned in a lot of pain,but she knew she deserved it.
-
Taro looked around, looking awkward, especially when he saw Littlefoot happily with his dad.
"Uh... we're leaving," he said. "We can't stay here."
-
Littlefoot looked up surprised "Why?"
-
"Well, we've just brought trouble, kid," Taro explained. "That's all we ever seem to bring..."
-
"No you don't" Littlefoot protested.
-
Taro smiled and looked down.
"At least rest for a while," said Grandma, noticing that blood was still dripping off him. "Do you need something to help those wounds?"
"I'll be fine," said Taro, but Grandma immediately got up and started tending to them. "Hey! You're not my mother, you know!" he complained.
"Maybe not yours, but someone's," said Grandma, carrying on.
-
Nahla was slowly walking through the valley,she limped clearly. She walked right past the family but did not notice them.
-
Lily and Taro noticed her and stared in shock.
"Is that...?" Lily questioned, extremely surprised.
-
"Is that who?" Littlefoot asked curious.
-
Grandma looked towards where Lily and Taro were staring and gasped.
"That... that's impossible..." she whispered. Taro got up and started walking towards who he thought was dead.
-
Nahla turned and gasped when she saw who was coming,her wounds were very serve. She starting backing up trembling.
-
"How in the world...?" Taro exclaimed, looking down at her. "You... you're alive..."
-
Nahla didn't answer just dropped down and curled up in fear.
-
Taro's look of shock soon turned into a smile. "Thank goodness," he whispered.
-
Nahla just stared up at him wide eyed.
-
Grandma joined him and stared at Nahla in shock.
"What are you going to do?" she asked Taro.
-
Nahla curled up even more shaking.
-
"I believe she can change," said Taro, nuzzling Nahla.
-
Nahla let out a shriek of pain as her neck was touched .
-
Taro jerked away. "Sorry!" he cried, not realising she was so injured.
-
Nahla whimpered and stared at them trembling seeming like a completely different dinosaur.
-
Grandma did feel quite sorry for her.
"I'll... keep her with me until she recovers and see what she wants to make of her life," said Taro.
-
Bron appeared behind them and stared at Nahla in surprise.
When Nahla saw him she went into complete shock her breathing was heavy as she tried to run away.
-
"Whoa, calm down," said Taro. "It's okay."
-
Bron looked around "Want me to try it again?" he asked.
-
"No!" Taro and Grandma said in unison.
-
Bron was surprised "I thought you's wanted her dead:.
Nahla was shocked at this and began to thrash making her already serve wounds worse.
-
"Well done," Grandma said sarcastically.
"Kid, stop! You're making it worse!" Taro exclaimed.
-
Nahla stopped panting heavily.
-
"Thank you..." Taro sighed.
-
Nahla eyed them trembling.
-
"So, what are we going to do her?" Grandma asked.
"I'll... I'll take her with me to the other side of the valley and see if she can... you know," Taro answered. He turned back to Grandma. "Any chance you could help those wounds a bit?"
Grandma nodded and approached Nahla.
-
Nahla eyed Grandma;s every move shaking with complete fear,.
-
"It's okay," Grandma assured, noticing how scared she looked. It was like a completely different longneck.
-
Nahla kept watching her but did not move or attempt to flee.
-
Grandma cleaned anywhere that was bleeding and checked for any broken bones.
-
Nahla yelped whenever someone touched the spot where her neck connects to the rest of her body/
-
Grandma noticed and looked carefully at that spot. "I think it might be dislocated there..." she said to herself quietly.
-
Nahla trembled with fear but she knew Grandma was trying to help her this time.
-
"Are you sure it's dislocated?" Taro asked.
"Huh? Oh, not there," said Grandma. "I think it's just extra tender there where... someone stepped on it. I can't do much about that."
"You were looking at the base of her neck," said Taro. "You said that might be dislocated."
"I was mistaken then," Grandma answered. "Perhaps it's a cracked bone or something. We'll just have to wait until it heals."
-
"It hurts,it really hurts" Nahla sobbed softly,how could this be the same evil child?
-
"I know, dear," Grandma sighed. "You need to keep still for now. We need to find something cold that will relieve the pain a bit," she added, looking at Taro.
-
Bron who been staying silent spoke up "She deserves all the pain she gets..doesn;t she?"
-
"Perhaps," said Grandma. "Perhaps she's learnt her lesson. I can't say any different since I was all for giving her pain ealier."
"I thought I had given her enough of that," Taro muttered under his breath.
"Anyway, can one of you find a tree sweet with cold juice in it, please?" Grandma asked. Taro just nodded and walked off.
-
"Just end her misery" Bron said and walked away back to his son.
Nahla laid on the ground clearly in a lot of pain/
-
Grandma glanced over at Bron, not happy with what he had said.
Taro came back with the treesweet and broke it open.
"Lily, can you gently rub some of that juice on that spot?" Grandma asked her. Lily trembled but did as she was asked, very carefully getting some cold juice on her tail and rubbing it on the tender spot. "Hopefully that'll numb the pain a bit..." Grandma muttered.
-
"Why..you's helping me?" Nahla whispered "I'm a monster"
-
"I believe in second chances," Taro answered. "If it weren't for that I wouldn't still be around," he added, nodding towards his scars.
-
Nahla didn't say anything after that and bore her pain in silence.
-
Grandma glanced over at Taro, about to ask how he got those scars anyway. He was looking down to the ground, and it was obvious he didn't want to talk about it
-
Littlefoot arrived on to scene,his gaze drifted to Nahla and to the adults and back to Nahla.
-
"Littlefoot..." Grandma whispered in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
-
"Dad kept going on about a kid slowly dying from a neck wound" Littlefoot explained.
-
Taro and Grandma glanced at each other; Grandma obviously not being too happy about what she had just heard.
"Well, he shouldn't have been saying such things," she said bluntly, seeing if there was anything more she could do to help Nahla.
-
Nahla laid motionless and silent.. Only sound and movement was that of her slow breathing.
-
Grandma sighed and just licked any blood carefully off the child. There wasn't that much more she could do.
-
"Is she dying? Thats what dad said" Littlefoot asked watching his Grandma,
-
"I don't know, Littlefoot," Grandma answered. "We'll have to wait and see."
"Why was your dad saying those things anyway? I know it's the truth but there's no need to get your worried over it! That's for us to sort out!" Taro added, clearly not happy with what Littlefoot was coming out with.
(Uh oh, Bron and Taro rivalry. :lol)
-
"He said the base of her neck was snapped..he knows..because...he did it himself" Littlefoot cut himself off and he realized what his own Dad had done.
-
Grandma and Taro glanced at each other sadly. Grandma went over and nuzzled her grandson.
"I'm sorry, dear," she whispered.
-
Littlefoot wiped a tear from his eye "Why would Dad do that then joke about it?" he asked Grandma
-
"He... joked about it?!" Grandma exclaimed, horrified that Bron would do such a thing.
"Now that's a bit cruel," Taro commented.
-
Littlefoot nodded "He got treestars and crushed them into pieces and laughed saying it was the kids neck....I couldn't listen anymore" Littlefoot turned away he looked disgusted at his father.
-
Grandpa also joined them, looking even more disgusted than the rest of the group.
"Let me guess..." Grandma started. She didn't need to finish her sentence; Grandpa knew what they were talking about.
"I also couldn't stay and listen to that," he explained.
"That sick-" Taro started, but a tap from Lily told him it was not his place to carry on.
-
Littlefoot starting glaring as Bron arrived on the scene,he moved further away from his dad.
Nahla instantly tried to flee only to fail,she was in great agony.
-
Grandma and Taro stood in between Nahla and Bron. The old female refused to look at him, and Lily shuddered when he came into the area. It wasn't Grandma she was scared of now.
-
Bron frowned "Whats up with you lot?"
-
"What in the world is that supposed to mean?" Grandma grumbled.
-
"You's are all acting weird" Bron commented surprised even Littlefoot had his back turned to him.
-
"Oh, and I'm sure you're behaviour was completely nice and normal, was it?" Grandma asked sarcastically. She still refused to look at him.
-
"What do you mean' Bron asked "I thought you hated her and wanted her to be in pain"
Nahla groaned clearly stressed out that Bron was standing over her.
-
"Perhaps kill her quickly," said Taro. "If I... had done it, I would have to live with that guilt for the rest of my life. Even if she is such a monster, I would never have forgiven myself for doing it. I guess I am glad in a way that I didn't, but not so glad in another."
"You should back off," Grandma warned Bron. "You're scaring her."
-
Bron didn't listen just raised his foot "I'll end it for her" he said.
-
Taro got in front of him. "Hold it right there!" he exclaimed. "Are you mad?!"
-
Bron frowned "I thought you wanted to kill her"
-
"Well... I don't know," Grandma sighed.
"We have come to an agreement," Taro butted in. "Once she recovers I'm leaving and taking her with me, and we'll see if she can change."
-
"I broke her neck..she'll die slowly over a few days" Bron admitted but backing away.
-
Grandma refused to believe this. She knew she hated the child before, but now all she saw was someone she should pity. Her parents were the ones who made her the way she was and now it seemed she was paying the price.
-
Nahla moaned she had no strength.
Bron stopped backing off "You may be able to save her,but honestly why would you want to save that...thing"
-
"She's not a thing, Bron," Grandma scolded. "She's a living creature, like the rest of us. I think she can change..."
-
"She'll be a DEAD creature soon" Bron muttered but it came out louder then he hoped.You could of heard him if you were back at the resting place.
-
Lily whimpered, knowing that she was similar to Nahla in a way. Her family were all dead and she blamed herself for everything.
Everyone else just glared at Bron, they seemed disgusted with the words he was coming out with, especially in front of his own son.
-
Littlefoot was laying next to Nahla,he put his ear to her chest "Umm...ain't dinosaurs meant to breathe?"
Nahla had put on her act and hopes they'll leave her alone.
-
"Yes... why?" Taro asked, suddenly very concerned.
-
"Cause she ain't breathing" Littlefoot said raising her head which fell back down limp.
-
"Oh no..." Grandma whispered. Lily knew something she could do but it meant rolling Nahla over which would put her at risk because of her neck.
-
Littlefoot stood up and backed away slowly.
-
"Taro, could you get the children out of here, please?" Grandma asked, knowing that Lily probably didn't trust Grandpa very much at all. Every time the little one looked at him her eyes filled with terror.
-
Littlefoot walked over to Taro glancing over at the pink body while he walked.
-
Taro took the kids away from the scene, hoping that this wasn't happening.
-
Bron looked down at Nahla "Oh well" he said turning away.
-
Grandpa walked next to his mate. "I'll give him "Oh well" in a moment," he muttered under his breath.
Lily seemed extremely depressed since Taro took them away. She refused to talk or do anything other than lie down looking at the ground.
-
Bron turned his head "Forget it she's dead"
-
Grandma stormed off, not wanting to hear any more.
Grandpa followed her, not saying anything or even looking at Bron.
-
Nahla realizing they were gone stopped her act and sat up
-
Taro tried to talk to Lily but she refused to budge. She felt as if she was the cause for the loss of her family and after what she had just seen with Nahla she was terrified that she would be treated the same way.
Grandma and Grandpa joined them, and like Lily, Grandma refused to talk about anything that had happened back there.
-
Nahla tried to stand only to fall heavily,a crash was followed by her shrieking,
-
Lily moved for the first time. Her head jerked up when she was alerted to the noise. "What was that?" she asked.
Grandma glanced at her mate before running back to where Nahla was, Grandpa following close behind.
-
Nahla turned her head and was shocked to see Grandma and Grandpa returning.
-
Grandma felt like she was about to faint when she saw that Nahla was alive. She stopped to catch her breath.
-
Nahla reached out her neck trying to drink from a nearby dirty puddle,but she could just not reach.
-
Grandpa noticed and brought Nahla a treestar filled with clean water instead.
-
Nahla took down all the water in seconds "Yay! After 5 weeks I finally got a drink!" she cheered forgetting she wasn't alone.
-
"Five weeks?!" Grandma exclaimed in shock.
"You haven't had a drink for five weeks?" Grandpa asked.
-
Nahla jumped she forgot they were there "No....I haven't"
-
Grandma and Grandpa glanced at each other sadly.
"That's a very long time to be going without anything to drink..." Grandma wondered.
"How about something to eat?" Grandpa suggested.
-
Nahla tilted her head "But I already ate this season,Daddy said only once a season" it was now clear how skinny she was.
-
"You're supposed to eat every day," said Grandma, looking horrified.
"I'll get you something," said Grandpa, rushing off and coming back with a bunch of treestars.
-
Nahla stared at the food not believing it was for her.
-
"Well, go on then!" Grandpa encourage her. "Eat up."
-
Nahla grabbed a treestar and ate it slowly. She looked at the remaining treestars and ate them like she was scared Grandma and Grandpa would take them from her.
-
"Want any more?" Grandma asked.
-
Nahla couldn't answer before a rock was thrown at her head knocking the young child out.
Bron walked forward carrying the same type of rocks "Does this kid ever die?"
-
"Do you ever just leave her alone?" Grandma growled at him. "Back off Bron."
-
"She's a monster" Bron protested.
-
"Who is terrified and can probably change," Grandma argued.
-
Bron scoffed "She wont change, she needs to die"
-
"She can be banished, she's still a child," Grandma mumbled.
-
"Your treating her like you's...like her" Bron said frowning.
-
"I'm treating her like I would treat any other child," said Grandma.
-
Bron rolled his eyes and walked away.
-
Grandma sighed and turned back to Nahla, frowning. She seemed quite angry with Bron at the moment.
-
Nahla moaned but did not open her eyes,a small line of blood was on her head from where the rock connected with her.
-
Grandpa tended to the wound, muttering something under his breath which got him a glare from his mate.
-
Littlefoot arrived back on the scene after leaving to find his Grandparents.
-
"Hello, dear," Grandma greeted sadly.
-
"Hi Grandma hi Grandpa" Littlefoot said walking closer only stopping when he noticed Nahla.
-
"Turns out she didn't die on us," Grandpa quickly explained as Grandma nuzzled her grandson.
-
"What is going to happen to her?" Littlefoot asked his eyes tearing up.
-
"We'll have to wait and see," said Grandpa. "It can be her choice if she promises to behave herself after this."
-
Nahla began to wake up,she seemed dazed.
-
Grandpa carried on tending to her as Grandma watched carefully.
-
Littlefoot sat himself down and watched.
-
"Now then," said Grandpa when he finished. "What are you going to do when this is over?" he asked Nahla.
-
"Die,kill myself" Nahla answered bluntly.
-
Grandma and Grandpa glanced at each other.
"Okay, that wasn't exactly what I was expecting..." the old male whispered.
-
Nahla slowly stood up and starting walking away but clearly in pain with every step.
-
Grandpa blocked her path. "Hold it right there!" he said. "You need to rest."
-
Nahla stopped in her tracks "Move and tell me where I can find a cliff"
-
"Er... no, I'm not going to do that," said Grandpa, refusing to budge.
-
"Why not,I want to kill myself and I shall do that" she tried to go around Grandpa.
-
Grandpa kept on blocking her way. "What... even if you had the chance to live a much better life?" he asked.
-
Nahla stopped trying to flee and just threw herself to the ground "I don't deserve to live here"
-
"By the sounds of it you were raised into being what you are," said Grandpa. "Maybe if you are given a second chance you can make something better of your life."
-
Nahla sighed before completely breaking down sobbing.
-
Grandpa nuzzled her, but wasn't entirely sure what he should say.
-
"Please just kill me" Nahla whispered.
-
"Why?" Grandma asked, tears flowing from her eyes.
-
"I do not want to live" Nahla said bluntly.
-
Grandma and Grandpa just glanced at each other sadly before Taro and Lily arrived at the scene.
"What's going on?" Taro asked, but the look on everyone's faces told him almost everything. He looked particularly shocked to see Nahla.
-
Nahla grabbed a rock and cut herself on the chest with it.
(Nahla super depressed,HUG HER)
-
"Don't even go there," said Grandma, snatching the rock away before Nahla could do any more damage. "Okay, I'll tell you what's happening. You're staying with us for now, and don't even try to take your life away."
-
"Why do you care" Nahla sobbed.
-
"Because, we do," said Grandpa. "If you want us to look after you and change who you are, we are willing to do it for you."
-
"Just kill me" Nahla said stubbornly trying to grab her rock back.
-
"No!" Grandpa protested. Grandma threw the rock into the bushes where Nahla couldn't find it.
Lily walked up next to Nahla. "You shouldn't turn down the chance they're trying to give you," she sighed. "I know, because... because..." She didn't finish her sentence because she realised it wasn't her and Nahla alone.
-
Nahla turned her back to Lily huffing.
-
"Hey, I know someone who was just like you," Lily whispered. "She was a killer as a child, and then she was offered a second chance, and she took it. That was my mother, one of the greatest longnecks I've ever known. You wouldn't find anyone kinder... in the end she gave her life for her family..."
-
Nahla didn't say anything just started sobbing again.
-
Lily sighed a plopped herself down next to her. "You really ought to take that chance," she said.
-
"Ok" Nahla whispered quietly.
-
Lily smiled. "Good," she said.
-
Nahla turned around to face the Grandparents.
-
Both of them smiled down at her, they were more than willing to offer Nahla her chance.
-
Nahla gasped and terror filled her eyes as Bron walked forward to come look for his son.
-
Lily gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, he's no going to hurt you," she assured Nahla.
-
Bron made eye contact with Nahla.
That terrified the child and she backed up into a bush.
-
Grandma glanced over but noticed that Lily was trying to sort it out.
-
Nahla whimpered as she kept backing up,her eyes never leaving Bron.
-
Lily tried to calm her down but she knew she would probably fail.
-
Bron looked away and turned to his parents-in-law "Err Hi"
-
Grandma turned away in disgust. "What do you want?" she grumbled.
-
Bron sighed now angry 'Why you do you act like you suddenly hate me?" he asked in an annoyed tone.
-
"Well... we don't hate you, Bron, but I can't say we're exactly happy with you," said Grandpa.
-
"What did I do?!!" Bron shouted loudly,startling Nahla even more.
-
Grandma and Grandpa backed off, both of them shocked by this behaviour.
"You very nearly became a murderer," said Grandma. "There were many more solutions then breaking her neck, you know."
-
"It was meant to kill her instantly" Bron muttered.
-
"Yeah, and it ended up going very wrong," said Grandma.
-
"I could..just finish her" Bron offered.
-
"I think she wants otherwise now," Lily spoke up.
-
Nahla poked her head out of the bush almost like it was on cue.
-
The older longnecks sighed as Taro just watched them, not sure if he wanted to butt in this time.
-
Bron frowned "Whats up with that?" he nodded to Nahla.
Nahla had her head and neck tilted to the side out of pain.
-
"She's.... I think that's the pain in her neck," said Lily.
-
"Well I did snap the base..so yeah she'll be in pain" Bron said carelessly.
-
Grandma sighed and shook her head, before going over to Nahla.
-
Nahla did't move and let Grandma come up to her.
-
"You ought to rest," Grandma whispered to her.
"Yeah, she's right," Lily agreed.
-
Nahla whimpered clearly not feeling safe to rest here.
-
Grandpa turned to Bron. "Perhaps you should go," he sighed.
-
"Why?" Bron frowned.
-
"Because you're scaring them both," said Grandpa. Lily was also shuddering.
-
Bron muttered to himself and walked off.
-
"Do you think you'll be able to rest now that he's gone?" Grandma asked Nahla. "He won't come back, I promise."
-
Nahla nodded her head slightly in answer.
-
"Good. Do you need anything else?" the old female asked.
-
Nahla shook her head but it pained her to do so.
-
Grandma nodded and smiled at her. "All right, try to get some rest now," she said quietly.
-
Nahla laid down and within seconds she was sleeping not realizing how tired she was.
-
Lily smiled and walked back to Taro.
"I suppose we'll leave you be for now," he said, picking up his young one and walking off.
-
"Is she going to be ok Grandma?" Littlefoot questioned.
-
"I can only hope so, dear," Grandma sighed, nuzzling him.
-
"You's going to banish her?" Littlefoot asked burying his head into Grandma.
-
"We'll see," she answered, although in her head she thought it would more likely be Bron that would be banished for nearly killing her.
-
Littlefoot sighed tears falling from his eyes.
-
"It'll get better soon," said Grandpa. "You'll see."
-
"Why did Dad to it?" Littlefoot sobbed.
-
"Because that Taro wouldn't, and I wouldn't..." Grandpa sighed. "I suppose... I'm not sure."
-
Littlefoot looked away "Why did you want to kill her anyway?"
-
"I suppose we were just angry that she tried to kill you and was a rude little brat," said Grandma.
-
Littlefoot stopped asking questions and just sighed,he just didn't get life sometimes.
-
"We never would have gone through with it though," Grandma carried on. "I've gone through my whole life without killing anybody and I don't intend to start now."
-
Nahla awoke hearing the voices,she didn't raise her head she just stared.
-
Grandma and Grandpa didn't seem to notice her awake. Grandpa soon left to get more food for everyone.
-
Nahla whimpered keeping her head lowered.
-
Grandma noticed this time and went up to her. "Are you feeling any better?" she asked.
-
"Yes I do emotionly....but my neck still feels really bad" Nahla whispered
-
"I'm not surprised about that one," said Grandma. "You took quite a blow. I'm afraid I can't recommend anything except a lot of rest until it heals."
-
Nahla sighed "Still don't undestand why your helping me"
-
"To be honest, neither do I," Grandma admitted. "You're still a kid at the end of the day I guess... I suppose we just thought you deserved a second chance."
-
"Whats your name anyway?" Littlefoot questioned.
Nahla froze at that question..she could not tell them who she was.
-
"Oh yes, I must have forgotten to ask. How rude of me," Grandma chuckled.
-
" I can't tell you" Nahla said flicking her tail.
-
"And why's that?" Grandma asked.
-
All that Nahla said was "I just can't"
-
Grandma said nothing more. "Well, can you at least give us a name that we can call you?"
-
"I'm Nahla" she said in one big rush before gasping,she just revealed who she was.
-
Grandma stopped, staring at the child in complete shock. "That... oh no..."
-
'"Whats wrong Grandma?" Littlefoot asked.
-
"That... that can not be her..." Grandma breathed, backing away from the child.
-
"Grandma?" Littlefoot asked again walking towards Nahla confused.
-
Grandma just pulled Littlefoot back by his tail.
-
Littlefoot yelped in surprise "Grandma what are you doing?"
-
"I knew something wasn't right, but I didn't think it was her," Grandma said, still in shock.
-
"What are you talking about?!!" Littlefoot said in a confused tone.
-
"Right, we're having a chat," said Grandma, picking him up and walking through the trees.
-
Nahla watched them leave but just curled up and fell back asleep. But it was an uneasy sleep.
-
"What's going on, dear?" Grandpa asked as Grandma seemed worried when she walked through the trees.
"Nahla," Grandma answered worriedly. "She's Nahla."
-
"Who is Nahla?" Littlefoot asked frowning
-
"She may be just a child, but the amount of others she has murdered..." Grandma answered sadly.
-
"Murdered? So she..is a bad dinosaur?" Littlefoot's eyes rose in shock.
-
"Very bad," said Grandpa. "We didn't realise just how bad."
-
"Whats going to happen to her then?" Littlefoot asked looking over his shoulder.
-
"I don't know," Grandma sighed. "I thought it was suspicious when she refused to tell us her name, but I didn't expect this."
-
Loud sobbing could be heard.Nahla unable to sleep was listening to the conversion.
-
"Well, we can't have a mass murderer in the Great Valley," Grandpa admitted. "And if the others find out they will go berserk."
-
"You's are gonna kill her?" Littlefoot whispered.
-
"No, we won't," said Grandma after a long silence. "I still can't do something like that."
-
"Then what will happen to her?" Littlefoot asked jumping when he heard twings snapping.
Nahla was standing thee her eyes bloodshot she was glaring at Littlefoot with hate...if only he didn't ask that question.
-
Grandma could see the hate and quickly picked Littlefoot up and away from her.
-
Nahla glared at Grandma for a second before turning and walking away.
-
"...that was slightly awkward," said Grandpa. Grandma seemed terrified.
-
"What if she murders someone?" Littlefoot asked clinging to Grandma
-
"Then I'll keep a very close watch on her," said another voice. Taro came through the trees after over hearing the conversation.
-
Nahla was searching the bushes and the ground for a sharprock she kept looking over her shoulder to where the others were.
-
Grandma and Grandpa agreed to Taro's idea and let him go on. He tried not to make it obvious, and Lily offered to get a closer look, which the adult refused. He just didn't want any trouble.
-
Nahla found the type of rock she was looking for and picked it up,she glanced over to the group.
-
"Now, what is she doing...?" Taro wondered to himself as he watched from behind the trees.
"Taro?" Lily asked, shaking.
"Yes?"
"I don't feel safe. Can I rest on your back for the time being?" she asked, looking terrified. Taro nodded and picked her up.
-
Nahla used the rock to slice her own legs,she kept glancing over to the group planning to flee as soon as one of them moved.
-
"Oh my goodness, what is she doing?" Taro muttered before going after her to try and stop her. Lily nearly lost her balance as Taro suddenly moved.
-
Nahla saw Taro coming and tried to flee.
-
"Wait up!" Taro called, chasing after her. Lily clung on for dear life, trying not to fall off.
-
Nahla didn't make it very far before collapsing,blood poured from her sliced legs.
-
Taro muttered something under his breath before rushing over and tending to Nahla.
-
Nahla snarled at him to stay away.
-
"Hey, don't snarl at me," said Taro.
-
Nahla stopped her snarling but she did not take her eyes off Taro
-
"Now, let's have a look at that," said Taro, looking at Nahla's leg.
-
Nahla didn't say anything but she didn't try and move either.
-
"Why in the world did you do that?" Taro asked as he inspected her legs.
-
"I was trying to kill myself" Nahla answered bluntly just wanting him to go away.
-
"Why?" Taro asked.
-
"I do not want to live..not after what I done..kill me please" Nahla begged
-
"You want to know what I think?" Taro asked. Those old longnecks will probably still give you that second chance. I think they're just a bit shocked that you're... well, you."
-
"Well I can't help that" Nahla muttered.
-
"No, I know," Taro sighed. "Do you want to talk to them?"
-
Nahla sighed "Fine" she whispered.
-
Taro nodded. "Good, but let me cover up those legs first," he said, grabbing some nearby treestars.
-
Nahla stared in the distance preparing herself for the worst.
-
Meanwhile, Grandma and Grandpa were stood awkwardly at their spot, only glancing at each other now and then in silence.
-
Littlefoot clung to Grandma's neck whimpering,he was scared Nahla would get him.
-
Grandma nuzzled him. "Shh, it'll be okay, dear," she whispered.
-
"What if she kills me?" Littlefoot whispered
-
"She won't," Grandpa promised.
-
Littlefioot sighed ad tightned his grip
-
"Littlefoot? That's... a little too tight," Grandma complained.
-
Littlefoot let go and sobbed feeling bad now.
-
Grandma took a deep breath, still worried about earlier.
-
Back with Nahla and Taro,the child was watching the adults every move.
-
Taro tried to ignore her as he cleaned the blood of her legs and covered them with the treestars he had gathered.
-
Nahla just sighed she didn't care what he did to her.
-
"Okay, done," Taro announced when he had finished. "Now then, are we going to go and see those two now?"
-
"I guess" Nahla whispered but not getting up,her legs hurt her but she tried to hide it.
-
"Need a lift?" Taro asked her.
-
Nahla nodded but didn't say a word.
-
Taro picked her up and started to walk off.
-
Nahla seemed terrified at what would happen.
-
Taro seemed mostly calm about the situation and soon found where Grandma, Grandpa and Littlefoot were.
-
Littlefoot gasped when he saw Nahla and hid himself.
Blood was starting to soak through the treestars wrapped around the girls legs but she didn't seem bothered.
-
Grandma and Grandpa were also shocked, both more so when they saw the blood coming from her legs.
Taro set her down. "She cut herself," he explained. The reaction from the older longnecks was understandable. "I think you all need to talk."
-
Nahla whimpered and lowered her head.
-
"Of course," said Grandpa as he lowered his head next to Nahla. "Sorry about the misunderstanding earlier," he sighed.
-
Nahla just whined and kept her head lowered but her eyes on Grandpa.
-
"You're still welcome to stay, if you wish," said Grandpa.
-
Nahla rose her head she nodded slightly before fully collapsing and passing out from the blood loss and injury to her legs.
Littlefoot poked out his head to see if she was gone yet.
-
Taro panicked and quickly tended to her as Grandpa just stood in shock.
-
Littlefoot gulped "Is she dying?"
-
"No," Taro assured, finding more treestars to cover the wounds and stop the bleeding.
-
Littlefoot pulled a disgusted face seeing the large cuts on the young girls legs.
-
Grandma frowned and nudged Littlefoot to get him out of the area.
-
Littlefoot turned and ran off away from the disgusting sight.;
-
Grandma glanced over at Nahla sadly before following her grandson.
-
The front end of Nahla was stained in blood,she really got herself badly.
-
"Are you sure you still want her here?" Taro asked as he cleaned the child.
"Well... it does seem that she genuinely does want to change," Grandpa answered. "If we give her that chance, perhaps we'll have one less killer in the world."
Taro just nodded with a fairly blank expression on his face and carried on tending to the wound.
Lily had left to follow Grandma and Littlefoot, not wanting to see the state of Nahla right now.
-
Littlefoot stopped walking and looked around wondering what to do now.
-
Grandma walked up behind him, a look of concern on her face.
Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes behind them.
"Is that you, Lily?" Grandma guessed.
"Um..." Lily poked her head out. "Yeah..."
-
Nahla began to awake,she opened her eyes. Her face was pale and she was clearly in pain.She tried to get to her feet
-
"Hold on," said Taro. "You need to rest."
-
Nahla moaned but did as she was told.
-
"Could you go and get some food?" Taro asked.
Grandpa nodded and walked off to find something.
-
"What happened?" Nahla whispered trying to get her world to stop spinning
-
"I think you tried to kill yourself," Taro explained.
-
"Oh yeah...and I failed" Nahla said disappointed,
-
"Yeah well, you can blame me for that," said Taro.
-
"I wanted to die.." Nahla said 'Why did you stop me? Why would you care?"
-
"Because I know a few of us wouldn't be entirely happy if we let you die," said Taro.
-
'I'm a criminal! I comitted murder over 50 times!" Nahla screamed in Taro's face "Just let me die so I can have my forever peace. I hate who I am"
-
"You sure you don't want to start again and try to live happily?" Taro asked. "I think that's something you can try and do here."
-
"Happily? Pah I never known happiness" Nahla spat out.
-
"Trust me, I think Lily knows how you feel," Taro sighed.
-
"Please end it for me..please" Nahla begged not seeming to hear Taro.
-
"Talk to Lily first," said Taro as Grandpa came back with some treesweets.
-
"Fine" Nahla grumbled before something caught her interest...she could smell food.
-
Grandpa carefully placed the food next to Nahla. "Help yourself," he said.
-
Nahla dug into the food,chewing and swallowing the same time.
-
"Someone's hungry," Taro commented.
-
Nahla had eaten every bite and was looking for more\.
-
Taro and Grandpa exchanged looks before Grandpa went to find more food.
-
Nahla sat herself down licking her lips with delight.
-
Taro chuckled. "It looks like you enjoyed that," he said with a grin on his face.
-
Nahla nodded laying down pain burning in her legs.
-
"I just wish there was more I could do to help," Taro sighed. "But I'm afraid I'm no healer. I only really know the basics."
A few moments later Grandpa came back with more food for Nahla.
-
Nahla jerked her head up her eyes widened when she saw the food.
-
Grandpa smiled as he put the food next to Nahla.
Meanwhile Lily had come out of the bushes again and had joined Littlefoot and Grandma.
-
Nahla dug into the food once again,it was like she never ate in her life.
-
"When was the last time you ate?" Grandpa questioned.
-
Nahla stop eating for a second "Besides today? Well before the last cold time"
-
Taro gave Grandpa a concerned glance and frowned at Nahla's answer.
-
Nahla had already eaten the new food,she was completely starving.
-
Grandpa sighed, just glad he didn't lie down and get too comfortable. "I'll get some more," he said.
-
Nahla had had her fill,she circled a few times whining in pain before curling herself up and falling alseep
-
Grandpa settled down and watched Nahla.
"So... now what?" Taro asked.
"We'll have to see still," Grandpa sighed. "She doesn't seem that bad..."
-
Nahla frowned in her sleep and shifted herself before going still again.
-
Taro and Grandpa continued to discuss what would happen to Nahla, but they didn't come to a conclusion. They decided that they would just have to wait and see.
-
Bron walked up "Uh..sorry bout before I got carried away"
-
"Don't bother with me Bron," Grandpa snapped. "Go and talk to your son. He seems terrified of you now."
-
"Terrified? Of me? Why?" Bron asked confused looking over his shoulder.
-
"Well, after what you did and what you said about... this one," Grandpa answered, motioning towards the sleeping Nahla.
-
"That child is demented" Bron saiid glancing at Nahla for a few seconds then looking away.
-
"Yeah, we know," said Taro. "But perhaps she can be... not so demented."
-
"Doubt that" Bron commented.
-
"You'll be surprised," Taro answered.
-
"What makes you think she can change?" Bron asked curious.
-
"Anyone can change," Taro answered. "If you ask me she seems to have changed slightly already."
-
Nahla awoke she looked at the males but soon looked away again.
-
Taro frowned, not saying a word.
-
Nahla stared at Taro wondering what he was going to do to her.
Rustling could be heard as Littlefoot arrived he buried his head into Grandpa's leg not wanting to see his own father right now.
-
Grandpa just nuzzled Littlefoot gently. No words needed to be spoken.
Taro looked back at Nahla and gave her a faint smile.
-
Nahla's gaze drifted to Bron and she shuddered "Please make him go away"
-
"We'll talk later," Grandpa said calmly to Bron. "I think it's best to leave us for now."
-
Bron sighed "So she more important then me? I can't be with my son?"
-
"Why don't you ask him?" Grandpa questioned, nodding towards Littlefoot.
-
"Littlefoot..." Bron started.
Littlefoot didn't even look at him and just kept his head buried in Grandpa,he was clearly upset and mad at what his dad had done.
-
Grandpa sighed. "If I were you, I'd leave and let him think about it for a while," he said calmly to Bron.
-
Bron sighed and walked off.
Nahla instantly became calmer,and started drinking from a small nearby puddle feeling content.
-
Grandpa and Taro glanced at each other, but neither said a word. Both of them were just glad that the kids would be calmer without Bron there.
-
Nahla glanced at them before hobbling off a few feet to go to a nearby water hole.
-
"Need a lift?" Taro asked.
-
"I guess" Nahla said gritting her teeth in pain.
-
Taro carefully picked Nahla up and took her over to the watering hole.
-
Nahla instantly began lapping up the water,she was sooo thirsty.
-
Taro looked over and saw Lily and Grandma in the distance, but both had their tails to him and were out of earshot, so he just watched thrm for now.
-
Nahla pulled her head away from the water,she held one of her legs off the ground she watched Taro awaiting his next move,she was sure he would hurt her.
-
Taro just yawned and took a quick drink for himself.
-
Nahla still watched Taro "Aren't you going to kill me?" she asked surprised.
-
"Why in the world would I do that?" Taro countered, frowning.
-
"Because I deserve it" Nahla answered
-
"Trust me, I went through a lot of pain in my life, and I would never wish it on anyone," Taro muttered. "If there's any chance of giving someone a better life, then I'll take it."
-
Nahla started sobbing,it was like a whole different longneck then the one that arrived a short time ago.
-
Taro gently nuzzled her. "Are you all right?" he asked softly.
-
"It just...what they did to me...how they treated me...it hurts so much..they made who I am and now I am being punished for it..if my parents actually cared.." Nahla trailed off and buried her head into Taro sobbing.
-
Taro sighed. "I know that is no way to look after a child... I didn't have any parents to look up to myself... but I know how to be one."
-
" I'm a monster" Nahla said through heavy sobbing.
-
"Right now, you don't look like one to me," Taro answered. "I think you just need help."
-
"That Bron guy hurt me! Everyone always wants to hurt me" Nahla whispered.
-
"I don't," Taro said calmly.
-
"You tried to feed me to fastbiters" Nahla reminded him
-
"Ouch... yes, although I don't know what possessed me," Taro admitted.
-
Nahla sighed and rubbed her legs with her tail
-
"Excuse me for a few moments," said Taro, getting up and slowly walking off.
-
Nahla watched him leave but soon turned back to the water.
-
"Would you mind going and watching her for a bit?" Taro asked Grandpa when he reached him.
"How come?" Grandpa questioned, confused.
"She just made me hate my own guts and I need to think for a bit," Taro sighed.
-
Littlefoot watched the pink girl for a few moments but soon buried his head into Grandpa again.
-
Grandpa frowned when he watched Taro walk further into the foliage, but kept watch of Nahla anyway.
-
Nahla was drinking again she kept checking over her shoulder like she was expecting an attack.
-
Lily frowned when she saw Taro walking by, looking upset.
"I should go and talk to him," she said to Grandma before running off. Grandma nodded and went to find Grandpa and Littlefoot.
-
Littlefoot pulled his head out and sighed "Will she be ok Grandpa?" he asked looking towards Nahla
-
Grandpa sighed. "I honestly don't know, Littlefoot," he answered as Grandma joined them.
-
(Set up the fat old desktop computer but it does not have skype :( )
Nahla glanced over at them tilting her head wondering why they weren't attacking her.
-
(Aw, that sucks. :( )
"Hello, dear," Grandpa greeted as Grandma lay down next to them. She smiled back and looked over to where Nahla was.
-
Nahla lowered herself to the ground but did not take her eyes of the family.
-
Grandma forced herself to look away, as Nahla's staring was creeping her out.
"Do you know what's up with that Taro?" she asked her mate.
"I'm afraid I don't," Grandpa answered. "He said something about that girl making him hate himself or something like that."
Grandma frowned at this and looked over to where she had last seen Taro, thinking about something.
-
Nahla also looked away she stared at the ground flicking her tail every few seconds.
-
Grandma shook off the thoughts and grabbed some treestars for herself
-
Littlefoot looked up to see Grandma eating 'Can i have some Grandma?' he asked
-
"Of course, dear," Grandma answered before bringing down a pile of treestars for him to eat.
-
Nahla rose her head and stared at the food almost drooling.
-
"Do you want some too?" Grandma asked Nahla.
-
Nahla nodded licking her lips.
-
Grandma nodded and brought down another pile of treestars for Nahla.
-
Nahla eyed them licking her lips in delight.
-
"Enjoy," said Grandma, smiling at her.
-
Nahla dug into the food she was completely straving even though she had 2 meals earlier.
-
Grandma just sighed and lay down next to her mate.
Grandpa soon fell asleep, tired from the turmoil earlier.
-
Littlefoot having tried to swallow more food then he could handle choked.
Nahla gasped and ran over to him pressing her foot against h trying to dislodge the food though it looked like she was choking him herself.
-
Grandma just pulled Nahla out of the way before gently hitting the back of Littlefoot's head with her tail.
-
Littlefoot managed to swallow the food.
Nahla whimpered and backed off prepared to get the blame.
-
"Are you okay, Littlefoot?" Grandma asked, concerned.
-
Littlefoot nodded "Yes Grandma"
-
"Good," said Grandma, before settling down again.
-
Nahla let out a long whine
-
Grandma had nearly forgotten about Nahla. "Are you okay, dear?" she asked, feeling quite guilty.
-
Nahla stepped back with a limp
-
Grandma sighed. "Do you want to rest here for a while?" she asked.
-
Nahla nodded her gaze drifted to the ground.
-
Grandma picked her up and placed her in between herself and Grandpa.
-
Nahla yawned her eyes drooping..
-
Grandma just watched Nahla for a while before her gaze drifted back to Littlefoot.
-
"What is it Grandma?" Littlefoot asked when he saw Grandma looking at him.
-
"I still don't know what to do," Grandma sighed. "I mean, she did try to kill you..."
-
Nahla choked back sobs overhearing.
-
Grandma took a deep breath as she felt a stab of guilt. She didn't dare look back at Nahla.
-
"Sorry" Nahla whispered sobbing.
-
Grandma just nodded in reply, still not looking at her.
-
Nahla stopped sobbing and stared down at the ground feeling unwanted around here.
-
"I'm sorry," Grandma said sadly, now looking at Nahla with deep regret showing on her face.
-
Nahla didn't say anything but she did hear.
-
Grandma just shifted uncomfortably, not sure if there was anything else to say to her. Instead she just rested her head on the ground, still feeling guilty about what she had said earlier.
-
Nahla suddenly jumped as Bron walked into view.
"You still here?" the adult asked the now panicked child.
-
"Oh, leave it, Bron," Grandma said almost bitterly, not wanting to deal with anyone else at the moment.
-
Bron pretended he didn't hear Grandma and walked closer to Nahla
Nahla looked from side to side in panic,she struggled to stand in flee making her injuries worse.
-
"Bron," came another voice. Grandpa had woken up and faced his son-in-law. "She said leave it."
-
Bron muttered under breath rolling his eyes before turning and walking towards Littlefoot.
Littlefoot backed up an angered look on his face.
-
Grandpa just shook his head as Grandma watched her grandson. She didn't want him to feel so angry towards his own father, but in the end, Bron had brought this upon himself.
-
"You hurt my friend" Littlefoot whispered tears in his eyes.
-
Neither of his grandparents said anything, instead just glancing at each other sadly.
-
Bron backed off snapping at Nahla "You ruined everything!" he shouted before storming off angered.
Littlefoot sighed and hang his head.
Nahla began sobbing feeling even more worthless.
-
"Don't listen to him," Grandma said soothingly to both of the children.
"I honestly don't know what's up with him," said Grandpa, shaking his head as he sighed with exasperation.
-
Nahla shook her head "But he is right I have ruined everything" she said her eyes waterfalls.
-
"Now don't you say that," said Grandma. "He's just not thinking straight at the moment."
-
Nahla just sobbed harder,it was hard to believe she was meant to be a cold blooded murderer.
-
Grandma and Grandpa just sadly glanced at each other, not entirely sure what to do. Eventually Grandma gently nuzzled the young girl in an attempt to comfort her.
-
(Updating Fics..Hades gets hurt YAY)
Nahla buried her head into Grandma sobbing "I'm sorry! So sorry"
-
"It's all right," Grandma said quietly. She wasn't entirely she if it really was all right, though.
-
Littlefoot walked over to her "It's okay it not your fault,your parents taught you to be like this".
Nahla just choked back more sobs.
-
"And anyone can change," Grandma added with a smile.
-
Nahla looked up "You really think so?"
-
"Of course I think so, dear," said Grandma, still smiling at her.
-
"How?" Nahla asked softly.
-
"Well, I knew a kid in my herd who used to bully me a lot of the time," Grandma explained. "His parents had split up and he lived with his father, but one day he left to go and live with his mother and grandfather. When he returned, he was one of the most well-behaved longnecks I ever knew. He just so happened to be that old guy over there." She gestured towards Grandpa, who looked very embarrassed by this.
(Heh, I use a different back story for these guys eveerryy time. :lol )
-
(Same with Nahla..but makes things more interesting)
Littlefoot seemed surprised "You were a bully Grandpa?"
-
"Well... yes, I was," Grandpa admitted. "I try not to remember those days, though." He glared at his mate for bringing up the subject, but she just innocently smiled back at him.
-
Nahla whimpered loudly "What does that have to do with me?"
-
"Well, that's just an example that anyone can change," said Grandma.
-
Nahla looked down at the ground "Can I really change? I'm a murderer"
-
"Well, we'll have to wait and see," said Grandpa.
-
"What if someone else finds out I'm here?" Nahla asked timidly.
-
"Then you just leave that to us," Grandma said.
-
Littlefoot tilted his head "Why would that be bad? he questioned
-
"Well, since she was a... well..." Grandma was unable to finish that sentence. "If someone comes in perhaps looking for revenge, then..." She shifted uncomfortably.
-
"Then what?" Littlefoot pressed on.
-
"Then... they might try to kill her," Grandma said hesitantly.
-
"Why?" Littlefoot asked tears forming in his eyes.
-
"I know I shouldn't bring this up, dear, but remember the sharptooth that killed your mother? You got rid of it, didn't you?" Grandma asked. "Well, some would feel the same way towards Nahla."
-
Littlefoot nodded before breaking down in sobs,he looked around "Hey where she go?".
Nahla had took off while the family was talking/
