Title: So the show's now out
Post by: trexmaster on February 01, 2007, 06:10:24 AM
Boy, was I stunned to see the show come out so freaking soon! And Chomper's a regular (how did they explain him getting off the island)!

I have one question: will Chomper's parents appear in this series? They were probably my favorite characters of all the movies. I'd hate to see Chomper isolated from his loving family.

BTW, I like the theme song. What is it, some kind of African-American chorus?

I don't understand this question. Do you mean... like a gospel?

None of us know how Chomper just showed up in the great valley, or what is going to happen in the next episodes. I guess they explain that in the first or second episode both of which none of us saw. There are plenty of topics about this, try to read them through.

LOL.
I think what trexmaster meant was that the music was a fusion of American style and African style (similar in a way to the Lion King).

I personally wasn't a fan of the theme music in the series.  To me, it just seems to lack the substance that the LBT movie openings (or end credits) had.  Then again, LBT 11 made a change to the overall style of the series and the TV series seems to be following in LBT 11's footsteps as opposed to the previous films....which I suppose makes sense, as LBT 11 was the most recent film release at the time.

The show's out now? In America? Does anyone know what channel? The time it's on? Will action9000 still record episodes?

...
Can I stop asking questions now?

The show won't be out in America until Feb 27..I think, on Cartoon Network.

I imagine action9000 still will. I can't speak for him, but I don't see why he wouldn't; some members of this forum don't live in either the U.S. or Canada, and they still couldn't see the show.

Yep, I'll keep recording them for as long as possible!
Besides: Recording them is the only way I get to watch them LOL :p

Precisely. I thought the way they sung the opening theme reminded me of an African chorus. Actually, it's probably more African than African-American; maybe it's Afro-Caribbean.

The opening theme actually sounds like a generic African theme to me without belonging to a specific strain, but that's just my take on it. It sounded like "Lion King" music, it sounded like Gospel, and it sounded like Afro-Caribbean all al once, kinda.

And just to toss myusual argument in there, the opening them is the only part of the I don't really like, other than the unexplained presence of Chomper, which I won't be making a big deal of until I see the first episode.

I caught a glimpse of the first couple of episodes (thanks to Dark Hououmon  ;) ). Looks good I reckon. The music IS kinda tribal with all the drum rhythms and gospel-esque style chorus but it looks cool to me. It's kinda funny only watching a LBT instalment for only 20 minutes...compared to the usual hour plus time frame the movies are but hey :)
There's no news of the series heading this way yet but CN has been playing the LBT movies a lot recently. Maybe they're getting us prepped for when it actually DOES come out over this side of the Great Pond. I can't see it reaching us before Summer though.

Oh well...all the more to look forward to!  :^.^:

I can think of no other reason why they'd be playing LBT flicks.
